Restaurant & Sushi Bar Sakura in Granby

A good little fancy sushi restaurant. But with a long service (returning at 4:30 a.m. then leaving at 6:30 a.m.) the servers are friendly! I recommend (the geisha, the orchid and the Romeo and Juliet) three things excellent in their flavors. But out of 6 things only three really stood out to me since the other three (the tiger eye, the pizza and the rolling stone) disappointed us. My sister was of the same opinion. Its up to you to choose the right kinds. The bill was $133 since it was only specialties.

A bit heavy atmosphere, lots of sushi with fried food and few fresh ingredients

Ive been going to Sakura for I dont know how many years . The food and service are excellent. The decor is not fantastic but the sushi is the best in Granby, made with very fresh fish. I always choose from the specialties that we share with friends . I went there yesterday with my sister and my friend and, as usual, we had a great time. I think its changed owners but its still excellent.

If you have time to waste, and money. You are in the right place! To describe the restaurant as such. Its honestly the poorest Ive ever seen. The reception isnt great, but it doesnt matter. The service sucks! More than 2 hours of waiting. Its incredible! The taste is non-existent, it was bland! Enough to give a rating of -5/5. I insisted to my wife to encourage local businesses to no longer enrich restaurant chains. Well, I should have done it this time. There were barely 8 tables occupied and 10 people in the kitchen and nothing was provided. A delivery man was patient for 40 minutes, poor guy lol The positive point is that if you are lucky, you will be served before the people who have been waiting for 1 hour.

No respect for their customers. Reservation confirmed twice, no message indicating closure during the summer vacation period. We pulled up to a closed gate after a 45 minute drive.

Really warm, impeccable service! The sushi is fresh and really good. Family and welcoming atmosphere! The only weak point was the price, compared to other sushi restaurants it was more expensive but it was worth it.

Service number 1, he welcomed us on a Friday evening without reservation!! In addition, when we brought our dish back, they took the trouble to make a beautiful dish, even decorating it with vegetables to garnish it all. Most restaurants would simply put the leftovers in a box. WoW thank you, your attention is superb. I will go back there without fail.

Very good, but wait 30min. for a takeout ordered the day before, not acceptable. And I noticed that no one was wearing a mask in the kitchen.

Bring your own wine, generous menu, super friendly waitresses, beautiful little restaurant, terrace available for hot summer days... all the characteristics of the perfect restaurant in my book! Only problem; slightly expensive but on vacation, we pay less attention to expenses, especially since the bring your own wine formula already saves us considerably. I recommend it 100%!

Unfortunately one of the worst sushi Ive eaten, paid $177 for 100 pieces and the sushi tasted like nothing and the fish didnt taste really fresh, really disappointed

Its been a long time since I ordered, I now know why I wont recommend. The sushi is delicious, luckily. I was told we would deliver, then they called me back to tell me no. They take my credit card number so that my partner has to pay when they arrive. I have 5 ravioli which look like nothing, not counting the garden salad which doesnt deserve the name. Ultimate sushi is reduced by more than half. I was missing a set of maki (ordered, invoiced and paid - and yes, I counted the two layers) and a sushi ordered not present anywhere. I called to clarify the situation and no opening. This will definitely be my last time.

Historically, it was the best sushi place in Granby and the surrounding area. However, since the separation of the two brothers (one left to open the Tokyo Sushi restaurant), the quality is often disappointing compared to the price and reputation. We only take specialty sushi and these have much less fish than those in Tokyo. When their sushi is wrapped in pale green leaves, there is always a fairly strong cumin taste. This hides the taste of the other ingredients. Last time we went there they served me fried vermicelli which tasted like old burnt oil. Three other people tasted it and confirmed it was not edible. I invited the waitress to taste it, but the cook didnt seem to have tasted it, as he only indicated that it was fried vermicelli; what I already knew. Weve tried them at least 3 times now, because the in-laws like to go there for the terrace in the sun or because they remember the time when the sushi was good (before Tokyo existed). However, we are always disappointed every time and always return to Tokyo where the table service and the quality of the specialty sushi are better.

Really ordinary. The seaweed was hard, the rice too swollen and then it lacked taste. The shrimp/basil roll starter was expensive and really overcooked. I dont recommend.

We go back there for the sushi, they are the Best in Granby. But well come back for the service and the atmosphere... Honestly, it makes the experience grating... Ive been there 120 times and the owner isnt even able to give me the semblance of a smile...

2nd visit to Sakura and the last! The first time, there were only a few customers and the service was very good. On the other hand, when we returned there on a Friday evening.....the waitress almost forgot about us. The sushi was okay, nothing more, with the exception of their avocado-diablo specialty which was succulent. For a meal (bring your own wine) for 2 people, you leave the restaurant with a bill of more than $80! This is too expensive, the prices are at least 25% too high.

Nice atmosphere, good sushi, but... I had three kinds of sushi and all three tasted the same... not diverse enough in terms of taste... so I describe my experience as ordinary

I ordered sushi and when it arrived, there was a hair on my plate. After 10 minutes, I was finally able to get a waitress to explain my problem. She went to see the cooks and then came back to tell me that it was not one of their hairs, but one of ours, even though none of the cooks were wearing a net. I was finally offered new sushi. They were poorly rolled and barely held together and were hot. After eating 2 sushis I realize that they forgot the salmon inside. In this time frame, 1 hour had passed without me being able to eat. So I asked for some new sushi to take away. The new sushi was still disgusting and there was once again a hair inside. I went to the only waitress in the restaurant who spoke French and she told me there was nothing she could do. A nice bill of around $15 for the worst sushi Ive eaten in my life on top of a health disaster.

The service was really bad. They told me not to go to the restaurant if I didnt want to wait. They are not nice. An apology would have been appreciated..

In my opinion this is the best sushi in the region! Bring your own wine too! This is not to be missed. The appearance may not seem appealing from the outside, but the taste is definitely there! They also offer take-out orders.

I recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food and service are excellent. Bring your wine or sake (they will happily heat it for you) I went there this weekend and I cant wait to go back.
