88 Rue Principale, Granby, QC J2G 2T4, Canada
Turned away at 8pm when closing at 9pm. Pretty lame
WOW! I haven't had such a good Asian meal in a long time! Everything was so savory 😋 Special mention to the rolls, wish I could have brought some back home.
Amazing service and very good food thanks for everything.
JUST LOVE IT, I wish I was living in Granby to have my dinner at this amazing restaurant every night, 30 nights a month and 360 nights a year. I highly recommend that I tried few of their recipes and each one of them tasted was way better than the other. Merci beaucoup
The food was not great, similar to food court quality, especially at the price point. The service was good at the beginning of the meal (filling water glasses promptly) but by the end of the underwhelming meal, we had to ask for the machine to pay our bills twice, still waited 20 mins, and had to get up to pay at the counter.
The worst experience I’ve ever had. We came to Montreal to visit the zoo. We are English speakers and were treated so poorly because of it. From the moment we walked in the door and they found out we spoke English we were treated rudely. They had no English menus so we translated a lot on our phone. When we ordered we made sure to be as clear as possible. The wrong food was brought to us twice, when we tried to say that she just huffed at us and walked away. The second time after being ignored and disrespected for 20 mins we decided to pack up our food and leave, but said we weren’t paying for the one dish that we didn’t order and wouldn’t eat. She made us pay 90$ for two meals and one appetizer and then as we announced our displeasure, she demanded we give her a tip. I cannot believe we were treated the way we were simply for speaking English. Absolutely a shameful business and they should all be disgusted with themselves. The food we did get was greasy, soggy, and there were flies everywhere.
I went with family and waiter Kim served us. We brought our wine and they allowed to drink there without any extra charges. Food was not very good but okay type. Restaurant ambience is nice and staff miss Kim is friendly and helpful. TQ
Showed up with no reservation on a Saturday and got a table right away, service was good. The chicken cari soup and fried calamari were good. The pad Thai was not really spicy, ask for 3/3 spice level.
Very ordinary food very disappointed
Excellent food, good service!
Generous quality meal at a good price
Amazing service and delicious food
Great AVV restaurant with good service and a nice atmosphere.
Great find, good food, well definitely go back there for sure
Very disappointing as Vietnamese cuisine. In Mtl its really better and less expensive. Spring rolls are very thick and hard. I had a grilled chicken with vegetables. There were 2 very small pieces of chicken with good vegetables BUT with a very thick and very sweet sauce. I made a comment to the waitress who just raised her shoulders. Also in the wong ton soup there was more chop suey than wong tong. To have grilled chicken instead of boiled we were charged $3.00 more.
I ordered two meal soups and it cost me $31. I find it quite expensive! I went to get them in addition. In the future I will buy my meal soups from another restaurant! Disappointed
Very good restaurant that my boyfriend and I discovered
The service is always super fast even with a busy restaurant! The chicken with mushrooms and peanut sauce was really delicious! For dessert, fried banana and mango ice cream. In terms of atmosphere, its a little dark and the lighting is yellow (you can see it in the photos). That said, the bench seats are very comfortable and its very pleasant.
Common Chinese restaurant. Very generous won ton soup.
Hmm my favorite restaurant
taste, taste at its best
I rarely give my opinion, but this time.... Phew! Really not great, very disappointed. I had the shrimp and chicken love nest plate. The chicken pieces were tough and tasteless, some were cold- frozen. My stomach felt it. My friend found a weird piece in her General Tao. Several shortcomings in service on the part of the lady. Unfortunately, this was our last visit to this establishment.
Very good food and the plates were well filled the service was slow overall it was a lovely evening on the terrace
I ordered Delivery for the first time by calling them this evening. General Tao and Grande Tonkinese extra vegetable soup so $2 extra: $48 total (I tip $2 so $50) because we are 4 minutes away by car. So far no problem, 30 minutes later the food arrives and I have no broth for my soup, only vegetables and noodles. I called back and informed them of the situation and I even offered to go get the soup myself, they told me no I would bring it but they warned me that it was normal because I had extra vegetables. Surprised because I didnt know that adding vegetables would mean less soup. But despite everything, I am happy with the resolution of the problem so far but to my surprise, the delivery man told me, and I quote; The boss tells you next time, come get the food yourself because you only have to give $2 tip. Wow. So I offered to go get her! My $50, for a soup and general tao, was therefore not enough to ensure respectful service. The food is good, I cant say otherwise. Im not dishonest. On the other hand, it is clear who will have lost a customer this evening, and that this was clearly what they wanted. In photo find receipt and the container of their great Tonkinese soup
Fast service General tao way too sweet
Impeccable
We always go to this restaurant when we have a show to see at the Palace. Very good food and very good service.
Nice clean and affordable place.
We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. Dont miss the seafood love nests and, for dessert, the banana fritters.
The food is excellent! The service is good but sometimes its a bit long, we were placed in a corner of the restaurant and we felt a bit forgotten but other than that we liked our experience. This is the second time we went there and it was the same observation both times.
The service and food are both awesome at this restaurant!
Great service, generous portion, you cant go wrong with the Lotus dOr. Its a BYOB. :) Imperial rolls, the best!
Pad thai????noodles no sauce 3 small pieces of chicken and 3 shrimp...disappointed
For a nice evening or a quick lunch!!
There is one who is harassed with the tip, it always seems like she is afraid of not getting any. But the food wowww
Good quality and fast delivery.
Great food. Served with a smile. Nice fishes
Quality ok, for the taste its good but nothing more. The interior of the restaurant needs an update though.
Amazing
Correct food, basic service!!!
Contrary to the popular trend of decreasing portions while increasing prices, we were pleasantly surprised at how much food was on our plate while still being affordable.
Phew, it really made it expensive to eat there!
Very tasty food and reasonable price for the lunch menu.
Always a pleasure, pleasant and so good every time to eat at Lotus dor. Thank you and the whole team
This is the place we like to go the service is fast and the plates arrive quickly too and always good service and the food always good and a good choice of dishes
Alright. Good atmosphere. Fast service. Very good meals in general and generous portions (I almost always bring some back). Weekday lunches are more affordable with lots of variety. I recommend the tables dhôte. The wonton soup which is served as a starter with the tables dhôte during the week at lunchtime is truly succulent. Although the prices are higher, in the evenings and on weekends, the choices offered are wider and still just as delicious. However, I didnt like the beef which is very thin and tough slices. But to each his own.
Really disappointed 1st time at this restaurant I ate extremely dirty sea fruit love nest it must have escaped the saddler I didnt eat it all because it wasnt edible unfortunately I wouldnt go back there again. Very disappointed
Always satisfied with every meal Courteous service and a varied menu I recommend to everyone!!
Didnt have a great experience last night at this restaurant!! No service with our waitress.. didnt offer us anything to drink.. we received our soups and my father-in-law had a piece of metal in it.. we received our overcooked rolls, almost burnt, not very good.. stiff stiff stiff .I had to put lots and lots of sauce.. the main meal was ok.. but the service was very very disappointing.. they lost us and went back again finished finished
Every time its always excellent and the service impeccable.
I love eating its always delicious
Excellent lunch meal. Simple and varied menu
Good value for money
Very good portion, good service and good price. Tasty food!
Very good
A must, everything is excellent when you bring it for 2 meals, the portions are so generous.
I GO TO EAT AT THE GOLDEN LOTUS IN GRANBY AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK. THE DISHES ARE EXCELLENT, AFFORDABLE PRICE, FAST AND FRIENDLY SERVICE, EVERYTHING IS FRESH I LOVE IT. I RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO THOSE WHO READ MY REVIEW... P.S I WORK ON THE ROAD OFTEN I TAKE A DEtour TO EAT THERE...
We ordered 1 vegetarian meal to take away. We were served: 3 pork imperial rolls, wonton soup (with pork) and a faded salad with white noodles. The other 2 dishes ordered (1 shrimp love nest and 1 chicken) were bland... In addition, the man who took our orders was impatient and expeditious! 60$ to waste!!! Experience AND restaurant to forget...
My parents loved their meals. The only downside is that my mother thought you put too much breading on the shrimp.
Tasty, friendly restaurant serving Canadianized versions of Vietnamese and Thai dishes.
Good value for money!
Bring your good appetite, and she wont be disappointed. Truly excellent!
Very good Thai style meal... Very good
Group of 50 people for a birthday! We had a private room for us, the service was very fast for the number of people we were, because we also had access to the entire menu. The food was excellent, the portions very generous, plus we were able to bring a personalized celebration cake. Everyone loved it! Thanks to all the Lotus staff it was a wonderful evening. Kid-friendliness: The children were only able to eat starters.
Pleasantly surprised! Dinner with friends. We all had a different dish and we all ate very well! The portions are generous at a very reasonable cost. We will go back
We arrived at closing time and still ate seated at a table (without service) Imperial rolls as a gift wow! Keep up the excellent service
Always good yummy food Fast service Food
Perfect
The food was not good. The waitress did not give us good service. I will never go back.
Wow! I stopped at lunchtime without much wait and too delicious! Peanut Chicken, Sick! Even the Wonton soup is the best I have ever eaten!
Very good, but too many vegetables and not enough meat... recommended.
Spring rolls are the best !
First experience at the restaurant, on a Saturday evening. Rare successful couple outing of young parents. The food is very good and quality. Generous portions. My table dhôte BBQ duck was succulent, cooked to perfection, the skin crispy as it should be. The little ginger soy sauce was a perfect accompaniment to the duck and rice noodles. Very good portion of fresh salad also. My girlfriends General Tao chicken was also excellent. The green tea (matcha) ice cream is also very good. The only small problem is the fact that the tables for two are quite close together so dont expect a romantic and quiet meal. Excellent service. We booked in advance and it is strongly recommended, especially on weekends.
I was eaten yesterday with my husband the waitress was stupid not smiling. Didnt come back to see us if we liked the dishes or to give us more water or anything else. Its full of not having had 15% tip but she gave mediocre service. A few hours after leaving the restaurant I felt sick. I had a seafood love nest. The seafood must not have been fresh since I had food indigestion.
Very good food and bring your own wine
Good food. Great service. Reasonably priced.
When you tell the waitress allergy and she answers, it happens in the kitchen... You receive your plate and you have 1 shrimp in it... not very good
Nothing to say, everything is perfect!!
It wasnt horrible, but it wasnt great either. Already when we left, our table was not 100% clean, I managed to remove some stains simply with my finger. The meals were OK. It wasnt good, but it wasnt wow either. Also, I found a shrimp with poop inside. .. That pretty much ruined my appetite. The waitress seemed in a hurry. We had to hurry to choose because the kitchen was going to close. It was only 6:45 p.m., so there was still 1 hour and 15 minutes before it closed. Plus I empty my meal to take the rest away, and she practically wanted to take my plate before I even finished removing everything. Therefore, the starters were very good! The wonton soup had a really tasty broth compared to what Ive ever tasted. And the shrimp chips were super good! In short, its not disgusting, but its not the place that will come to mind when going out to a restaurant.
Very good meal and dessert. On the other hand, out of a choice of 6 different soups, no vegetarian soup... its shocking.
I would have liked to have the sauce on the side because I dont like it a lot. According to the lady, its impossible but he just put it on top. So, no flexibility or discussion, it s just no, impossible. You have to go there before or after the rush because only one waitress. Not sure Ill go back for a 3rd time. Parking: Easy
I dont understand we can serve a cold soup could have understood not hot enough but cold won ton frozen, meal I played is where Charlie to find my chicken
Excellent every time
Being a lover of Vietnamese cuisine. I really liked the Tonkinese soup as a meal. The egg rolls and spring rolls were also very good.
Too expensive
Good service and the portions are huge, you get what you pay for.
Tonkinese soup and egg rolls excellent Pad thai and tasty love nest
Very beautiful plates. Very good
Good service but food not to our taste. There were 2 of us and the first and last time. Overcooked chicken and shrimp!! Vegetable not fresh... frozen I dont recommend at all.. In addition you have to bring these alcohols...
Very good
The food is excellent and the service courteous.
Great service and excellent food
Chicken curry soup just always wow!!!
We loved our experience! The service was fast and courteous. The Tonkinese soup is very simple and at the same time tasty, the broth comforting and the beef super tender! The General Tao chicken was to die for, the spices in the sauce were very well balanced and it was quite sweet. These oriental flavors perfumed our evening, we will definitely come back!
I ordered the set menu and it was delicious and they gave me coffee for dessert which was nice.
Very good. fast service. reasonable price for large plates.
Good service
Very good Asian food.
Good plate and generous portion.
Thai and Vietnamese meals. Inexpensive at lunch time because they have lunch specials. Soup, meal and tea included. My dad got free dessert for his party!
Excellent meal it was delicious. THANKS
Very good the rolls are very good and the Wong tong soup also I have it with chicken and noodles very good
Good service and excellent food. To discover!
Excellent Vietnamese meal with chicken from General Tao and pad Thai with vegetables. Big portion. The imperial rolls are big and excellent, they are rare that are good like this
Good food, simple and honest in my opinion. The outdoor terrace is very pleasant in summer. Good value for money. Good quantity too. I will come back.
Peanut and spinach chicken really not good. A regular local told us that we shouldnt arrive too early for dinner because he had the impression that we risked having leftovers from dinner that had been lying around a little too long. Quite expensive for the poor quality. Sorry ! Probably the fault of covid!@#?
Good meal, good service, generous portions.
Great place to spend with family, very good food, I highly recommend.
The food was just amazing specially the soupe with a hot sauce in it:)))
Great food and good service. I recommend the General Tao with the rice.
Disgusting
Everything was delicious, attentive and fast service.
D-É-L-I-C-I-E-U-X Best Imperial Scrolls!!!!!
Pass your turn. Theres quite a bit better. Pad thai with overcooked noodle....grocery store style sauce and oil-soaked roll. Bad stomach ache while hiking after dinner. My partner took the General Tao and also bad. Super pasty sauce in a jar. Its rare that Im disappointed like that at a restaurant.
Worst experience, this place is horrible. The waitresses are so rude, theyre looking at you like youre disturbing them...After about half an hour we had to leave cause nobody approached us, spending our money elsewhere.
Great service and always delicious. Thank you for being here !
The dishes are very well served, very delicious......the only thing missing is music inside the restaurant.....
VEGETARIAN menu contains CHICKEN broth. So no veggies and nothing is indicated to this extremely dangerous effect! A complaint will be made to consumer protection.
Refuses to give us a table at 7:25 p.m. on a Sunday in August.
Good service, good choice of food.
I should have turned around at the reception, when the manager/owner imposed herself between the nice waitress and my family to explain to her with rude gestures worthy of a mime that I was too paunchy to fit myself. sit on a bench! And what about the food. Misrepresentation. A red curry with coconut milk... no coconut milk on the plate. Sprinkled with a sweet sauce that seems to be the base of all their dishes. A first and a last time. Never again. In this restaurant, the lack of good manners is matched by the absence of flavor in the dishes served.
Very good quality of food, speed of service, I go back often
Good food and plentiful plate
Good food and not too expensive
First time at this restaurant. A little expensive but hearty dishes, everything is good (chicken and shrimp love nest, General Tao), very kind and professional staff. We recommend it!
Fast service, nice menu
Imperious roll
really disappointed, the dishes had no taste.
Nice atmosphere and good food
Very good and very well received!
They also make vegetable path thai which are excellent.
I love this restaurant. Affordable price. Generous portion. Fast service. Also bring your own wine :-) However, closing time could be later on Fridays and Saturdays.
Very poor reception on the phone. Good service but food not to our taste. There were 4 of us and the first and last time. The spices . I regret but I do not recommend. Chicken and beef, not of the highest quality. First call to reserve 4:10 p.m. to have 5:30 p.m. to show up at the door, youre pretty last minute! 2nd call returned to the house because forgotten small jacket left on the chair: response from Mr. well we are not to disturb the customers! Wicked looking beast! Dry and rude. This is not one of the best restaurants in Granby! Best Asian Moon, me (4 people) had almost nothing to eat. To avoid. We are not one of those who eats anything! The apologies and attitude of the owner who responded reflects his attitude and customer service very well!
We had the chicken combo and the seafood love nest. The prices were good and the quality of the food was good without being a gourmet meal.
1. Too costly. 2 dish (Pad Thai and Chicken bird nest) cost us 50$ tax and tip included. The price is absurd. 2. A bit scamming. We brought our toddler to eat with us, they refused to let us pick a menu item from the kids menu (I suspect because it was just 8.95$ and they wouldnt make any profit out of it). So we were forced to pick a normal dish for the toddler at 18$ tax excluded... 3. Food quality was terrible. So when we got our dishes, my wife and I realized that both our dishes had way too much pepper. When we asked the waitress... She said... It must be the oyster sauce... As if we, as Asians, didnt know the difference between pepper and oyster sauce... The Pad Thai was lumpy and didnt taste like anything that I could qualify as a Pad Thai... As a matter a fact, just to add salt to injury, I would say that Thai express makes better Pad Thai than this. Both my wife will not be coming back again. If you are Asians, I dont think you will like it either.
Magnificent love nest and Pad Thai
Excellent food and impeccable service!
The service is very good. The food is excellent.
Mediocre food. Ordered 3 plates and it was all bland. Vietnamese and Thai. Red curry tasted nothing like a red curry.
Friendly service, lots of choice, always good.
Very good restaurant...
Always incredible service and food at Lotus
Succulent meal, beautiful terrace and welcoming interior
very nice place, good welcome, very generous meal portions
AVERAGE,
Bland expensive food. Pad Thai had rubbery chicken and no tamarind. Beef tasted boiled not grilled. This is a place for small-town folk who dont know what these dishes should taste like. Service was rude. No chopsticks. Tacky paper horoscope placemats for a $50 meal. Appalling bad food and prices to match.
Always good
excellent food impeccable service warm atmosphere waitress has their business and all in a quiet place that exudes tranquility
In the mood for Chinese food in Granby, we settled on Lotus dOr based on the good Google reviews. It was a poor choice. We ordered two dishes: birds nest vegetable tofu, and chicken with vegetables in a red curry sauce and coconut milk. On arrival, they looked suspiciously similar. Pointing to the Thai dish, we asked the waitress if that was the red curry sauce one, and she said yes. After tasting, we confirmed that both dishes were in the same thin, brown sauce. There was no trace of red curry sauce or coconut milk at all. The only difference was chicken-rice in one dish and tofu-noodles in the other. Their taste was unremarkable. Considering the price (nearly $20 per dish) and what we got, it was a disappointing experience that we instantly regretted. We wont be going back. UPDATE IN REPLY TO OWNERS RESPONSE: First of all we are not Chinese Restaurant !! Second of all go !!!! I understand your frustration at the negative review, however you should be more frustrated that a paying customer had such a poor experience at your establishment. Take the criticism in stride and strive to do better. My review is not the only negative one here saying the same thing. If anyone should be frustrated, its my party who paid for the lousy meal and tipped well anyway. Furthermore, I never said your restaurant was Chinese. I said we felt like having Chinese food and settled on yours.
Excellent, very good quality meal
good rations to fill your man
Good service, good price, good food.
Flavor, value for money, and bring your wine,
Nice restaurant, nice menu, good service But we had the pad thai which we didnt like Too much soy sauce and too salty.
Always very good
great service the staff was very friendly, Ill be back.
As your website does not work nor your information address, I am writing my message here even if I did not wish to make it public initially: Hello, Yesterday we went to your restaurant for dinner to celebrate my aunts birthday. I would like to bring to your attention that I got food poisoning following my meal at your home: Chicken and shrimp in peanut sauce. I prefer to notify you in case you have had other cases. According to my doctor friend, my symptoms are similar to salmonellosis. I have been extremely ill and am struggling to recover from this intoxication. Marie-Josée Hébert
Very bad experience for me. I ordered vegetables with spicy red curry sauce and coconut milk. My vegetables were bathed in a super-sweet sweet and sour sauce, typically the kind of pre-made sauce you find in the worst Asian restaurants. I would add to this that the waitress put a lot of pressure on us to order quickly, eat quickly (she came to ask me 5 times if I wanted a doggy bag while I was eating!), that the we paid quickly asking ourselves in person how much we tipped...!!! In short, clearly not a great evening for us and I find that very regrettable, because I know how difficult it is to work in restaurants. Luckily, the fortune cookie had kind words for me.
Very bad experience on my part. The waitress put a lot of pressure on us throughout the meal to finish putting the bills on the table and asking if we were paying cash or debit while she came to serve us tea and coffee. I mentioned to her that we would like to enjoy our coffee and tea before paying and she came back 5 minutes later. In the discomfort we all finally paid. She asked each time before handing over the counter if we put a 15% tip. For my part and legally I asked to let me choose my tip. When she saw that I only gave her 5% she got angry and made a scene while I explained to her that I didnt like the service and her attitude why the 5%. She even went to my grandparents to complain about my tip, which is completely unprofessional. In addition, the food was unfortunately not at all good. My duck was very dry and rubbery. I do not recommend this restaurant unfortunately.
Very nice experience, the food is excellent as is the service
Unbeatable value for money
Warm atmosphere, diverse menu, fast and courteous service, very affordable price
Impeccable service, a wide variety of choices and above all it was really good, thank you
