The brisket was as tough as shoe leather. Very disappointing.

If your from here, you have gone 1000 times so there isnt much to say. If your not from here, there is a reason that its one of GPs #1 spots.

Amazing establishment, the food is top notch, the staff is always so friendly and quick to help you. From live music, to pool, sports, and buck hunter this place has it all. Even easy parking down town. John and the team always exceed expectations.

Best outfit in town. Owner is a legend and conducts his business in the same fashion. Cant miss. If the doors are open, its a good time to be there.

Atta boy! I still like this place. (Although I just noticed boneless wings are mechanically tenderized (holes throughout) I would suggest sticking to normal animal parts.

I had the sweet chili chicken dish and it was really delicious. The waitress was very nice and prompt. The restaurant was clean.

I love everything about this place. The atmosphere, the service, the prices, and above all else, the food. Ive been twice and cant wait for the next time Im able to be in GP so I can go again.

Although I don t mind the food here I m done with the service. Last couple visits have been terrible, either the service is nonexistent to which we just had to get up and leave or they would come once to ask if we knew what we were having and then never return. And then most recently kicking my wife out for not having her ID on her despite being married (wedding rings) and with a table of people in their high 20-30 s.

We had wings and nachos. They both were great . Our server was helpful and she was fast.

Waitress took drink order, food order, then never checked in again. Took my cup from first round on her way to the back, not asking if anyone was okay or needed a refill. Then delivered food to table in a hurry still not asking for drinks. My friends on the outer table were able to get drinks by stopping her but I was in the inside and as soon as they had their drink order she would dart off so I couldn t get a drink. Which would be completely understandable if it was busy, however we came at the tail end of a rush so it was pretty well cleared out. Was kind of disappointed. But food was great and atmosphere was energetic!

Dont respect the way the owner does business. Was a door guy with my old roommate Rocky & there was these other door guys who would literally start the fights so we ended up babysitting the staff & the owner was indifferent. He also made inappropriate comments about female patrons bodies to me in some weird attempt to relate to me or something. Anyway, mid. Rocky where are you I miss you

This place has went down hill. It reminds me of a bad episode of Bar Rescue. The service was good though. The pulled pork was dried out, and dixie chicken was rubbery. Not what it used to be.

Havent been here in years. Decent lunch, great service, seems to be a busy place for lunch, even on a Monday. I hear the BBQ menu is great.

Fantastic pulled pork. Not enough servers for prompt service. Very chill but still lively atmosphere.

Some friends and I went for food and drinks. We ordered a round of shots and they were FULL OF FRUIT FLIES. I was lucky and noticed before I did mine, but mine alone had 3 flies in it. My one friend didnt think anything of it and thought maybe a coffee ground. My other friend found one on the rim of her glass. The server was a bit upset and said the summer was bad for fruit flies but they cover the bottles at night. The manager (possibly manager) said they strained some bottles through coffee filters and found nothing and that maybe we just got the ones on top. Not even an apology. This was so disgusting and unprofessional. We got nothing for this except the shots with flies off our bill and gave a new round of different flavors. The food was good and lucky we at before this happened.

Busy night , but early on a Thursday night before Christmas. Unfortunately they we re very under staffed

If you want to have a great meal, watch a sports game on big TVs, play a little pool or listen to a great band, all while receiving the friendliest service in the industry. This is the spot. John and his staff treat you as a friend and go out of their way to ensure that you have a great time. I can not say enough about this place. They are wonderful and treat you like family.

After 10+ years in Grande Prairie, Freds is still my go to for a business lunch, night out, wings and a hockey game, whatever. Always great food, good people and an awesome atmosphere.

John, Stephanie, and the entire team at Freds continue to impress us every time we visit. Were regulars for lunch, with friends and our clients. Thursday ladies pool night is always fun. The food is always perfectly done, and the fried Mars Bar or Cheesecake are unbelievably good, satisfying our sweet tooth cravings. The clean and tidy washrooms reflect their attention to detail. A big thanks to the entire team for consistently providing excellent service. Better Than Freds is our go-to spot for a delightful dining experience!

A wonder locally owned and operated business. Easy relaxed vibe for lunches and would consider it the best pub when looking for a night out. Great local bands and shows brought in. Cant beat their ribs in town, nor chicken burgers.

Just wanted to give a shout out to John and his entire crew at Better Than Freds! I frequent there at least 2 - 3 x a week and honestly, I am never disappointed! The food is always top notch and soooo good, the service is great and extremely friendly, if you want something altered (they often will accommodate you), if you order something that is going to involve chicken or beef or some sort of protein they always give you more than expected. And if you are looking for some live entertainment, check out there site to see what bands will be playing soon. All in all, just love this place and the people there! Went to have some drinks for my bfs bday. We sat down ourselves and no one came to help at our table. There were 5 guys playing pool and two people at the bar! The waitress and the bartender were super busy talking to the two guys at the bar. Ignored us for 20 minutes so we got up and left lol Very very unhappy

I went for dinner with my friend last night and was so impressed with one of the chef who really came to us and asked about modifications in one of the dish. I am pure vegetarian and wasn t aware of their dirty rice, so he came and and confirmed. Really appreciated.

I have to give yet another 5 star review based on consistency. I went there again today and had an amazing half chicken with sides for a good price. Flavour was on point, as it always is. Staff were amazing. Thank you, Better than Freds for always being absolutely on point and amazing. You have great bands and a great atmosphere as well! I have to say youve earned my favourite restaurant and bar in town status. I cant think of enough good things to say about this place!

A great spot for live entertainment, with pool tables, great food, and friendly staff. They serve an amazing deep fried Mars bar you never knew you needed. A great spot to go with friends or for a fun interactive date night.

Great food, ordered take out.

Our food was really good but, our server was not. Exodus was not very nice. I don t know if Exodus was going through anything that day but, She did not seem happy. Not only that but the vibes were not good with her. I really wanted to leave, so we did. Normally Better Then Fred s is really good for service. But, this time they missed the mark. Really hope next time we get better service.

The greater place in the world

We chose Better Than Fred s to cater our wedding and they went above and beyond! Ashley was super nice, professional, punctual, and very well prepared to feed our 150+ wedding. Every time someone talked about our wedding afterwards, they always mention how awesome the food was. We ordered ribs & chicken for dinner and it was SO delicious, and then she also brought us pulled pork for a midnight snack and it was a huge hit!

Ok we spent the weekend in GP and had lunch here one day. Glenn had the fish n chips, which he said was great and I had the brisket plate, which was amazing and I could barely finish it. I didn t think to take a picture. Then we came back the next day and Exodus remembered our drinks. Since we d already had lunch we ordered the Skor cheesecake and Cherry Whiskey cheesecake pictured here. Oh yummy!!! They were both really good, but the Cherry Whiskey won the taste off. Apparently the wings here are amazing too. Fun place with pool tables and weekend live music. I wish we had a place like this at home. Dietary restrictions: I got my Caesar salad without croutons

The food was decent but not cheap. $16.00/lb of wings is steep. Service was good, but perhaps it was too busy the night I went. Took a while to get servers attention sometimes. Atmosphere - it s a loud sports bar place. If you re down for that environment it s great. If you like quiet dining, which I do, this isn t the place. Was clean though which is nice.

Definitely the best bar in grande prairie, good vibes, great staff, amazing food. I ve been here a ton and I ve never had a less than perfect meal, tonight I got the house burger and it was seriously the greatest thing I ve ever put in my mouth. 11/10

Here you will find a veritable melting pot of humanity all having a great time. While eating awesome food having a joyous time playing pool, or listening to live music or watching the UFC fights.

Went there for some pool and dinner, i strongly recommend going, the food was delicious and very well priced and the staff was very nice and constantly ready to help and serve. I strongly recommend going.

The food was good. For some of our orders, we had to pick other options as they were out of the item. Service was slow. Our waitress was overwhelmed by how busy it was, so we didnt get many drink refills.

The Philly Cheese Steak was awesome. The smokey brisket with the pickled peppers was an amazing flavourful combination. Youd think for a Pub/Pool hall it would be loud but it wasnt at all. You don t get a better inviting and friendly attitude than that. You sir were the one with an attitude problem! I rate you less than a ZERO as a customer!
