The scrambled eggs were so horrendous I simply could not even keep them down. They were rubbery and tasted like chemicals, seemed reconstituted. Waitress took a piece of egg off my plate to eat following the meal and immediately spit it out on to the table and apologized for how awful they were. Nothing was comped. Usually love it there, really disappointing.

Im am from BC and had to come to Grand Prairie for medical reasons and we stayed in the Stanford Inn. Monicas Family restaurant is the restaurant that is on the property. As soon as we walked in the door the server greeted us with a smile and let us pick our own seat. She was by our table instantly and was extremely friendly. As weve never been here before she made some suggestions of what was really good on the menu, and let me tell you that was one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. It wasnt even 10 minutes and we had our order. We didnt even have our second bite in and she did a quality check. Our coffee cups were never empty and she made us feel so welcome. The young ladies name was Misty and if you ever get a chance plz plz head over there and let Misty treat you like family. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Huge shout out to Misty

Stopped for lunch at 1230 to find out chef going home and close at 1 not as indicated on Trip Adviser etc as open until 2. Not sure how ranked #1 in Grande Prairie.

Only good things to say about this place! Breakfast was absolutely delicious and tasted like a home cooked meal. Our server was super friendly and personable and gave us some great recommendations for the food, adding a great twist to their strawberry french toast! Great service and great food - Definitely want to come back!

I got one cup of coffee with my entire breakfast. She did not come back and fill it up. I waited for 25 minutes to get another cup of coffee there was only 3 people in side!

Food was ok, just found the menu pretty slim. I see shrink flation is also hitting restaurants now too as didnt seem like meal was worth the price.

We had breakfast and it was fantastic. The lady waiting tables was really nice the place was clean even the washrooms. We will go there again. Would like to try the dinner menu. If you are looking for a great place to eat you wont be disappointed.

Wow, great food! The clam chowder is delicious. I was wishing I would have taken a picture of my Thunder Crunch Chicken Burger, a feast for the eyes and even better tasting. We love this place!

We ate breakfast for the first time at Monica s and had the most amazing experience ! not only was the food amazing but our server misty was such a great down to earth server She was polite and friendly also suggested a breakfast item that was absolutely delicious I can t say enough about her she s the kinda server you want to see to start you re day smiling and happy will definitely be going back for the amazing food and great service

Ridiculously expensive

stopped in for breakfast - had an awesome omelet with shredded hashbrowns - was splitting with a friend because its A HUGE 3 egg omelet - when asked what kind of toast we wanted, we each asked for a different kind of bread - SO we got exactly what we requested - a slice of sourdough, and a slice of multigrain - perfect - and the coffee was delicious. Ive eaten here many times over the past 30years and have never been disappointed :)

Im from Vancouver island and have been to Monicas twice while visiting my daughter in Grande prairie , the food was excellent both times but it was our server Misty that really made my visits special, very kind and engaging..will definitely be back

The breakfast hash bowl was pretty decent, and she had OK prices. No wait for a table, simple menu, and good staff.

I travel quite a bit for work, some hotel stays are good n some are not so good. My experiences n visits with Stanford hotel have been exquisite to say the least. Over the past year I have frequented many other hotels in the area and their staff n food have been better than most and most importantly affordable. They have great housekeeping by a cute curvy brunette who does a phenomenal job, she keeps my room fresh n clean always. A pleasant surprise for when I return back to my room from my busy day. They have a gym that I have used in the past which is unfortunately closed due to COVID19. My mornings have always blessed with good energy when I stay n that makes a huge difference. The girls at Monicas do an amazing job at making u feel welcome when we were able to dine in and now they offer room service to your door delivered by the boys Yogi, Joseph n Duke, even when its -20c outside, its still hot n ready for u so compliments to the chef ! The front desk staff have done a great job making my stay memorable, from issuing breakfast vouchers to saving me with new room key cards when I have locked myself out of my room, their hospitality has been 5 star. If u ask me what separates them from the rest, I would say its the staff hands down. If I had to offer constructive criticism or negative feedback theres a few things that come to mind. To start I would say the bathroom could use a little reno fix up, some rooms the hanger fittings on the back of the bathroom door are missing n the toilette clogs easily sometimes. But overall my visits have been good n staff is willing to go above n beyond to deliver fantastic service. So enjoy your visit if u try them n dont forget to leave a tip for their stellar service. OMG!!!!! EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD...THAT I DONT HAVE EVEN TIME TO TAKE A PIC....

Really dissapointed based on the Trip Advisor rating of best breakfast place in town. We were visiting and didnt know where to go for breakfast so went with Monicas based on this rating. As we are in an unusual time with the Covid Pandemic, protocols in place for mask wearing, social distancing etc are also very important to us. The info on line indicated they took special care and enforced above. Signs out front of entrance also requested protocols be followed, however numerous people showed up without masks, and what really surprised us was that the only server working this busy restaurant had her mask under her chin most of the time. Clearly not taking this pandemic seriously, and therefore not enforcing customer base either. The food was cold once we got it which wasnt surprising as only 1 server working- she was obviously experienced but couldnt keep up with coffee refills, water etc. Aside from the food being cold when we received it, things like using margarine on the toast and packaged hollandaise sauce completely downgraded the food value Definately would not recommend .

Super disappointing brunch. Salads were all crusted over from sitting too long or who knows. The hot food was cold(pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict) or barely warm (sausages, bacon) the roast beef was nice but not with instant potatoes and very odd packaged gravy. I ve never been anywhere without coffee being included or an array of fresh juices so drinks disappointed as well. The dessert display was good for my usual lack of willpower over sweets-it was very easy to skip it.

I brought a date here a few weeks ago. All in all, this place gave me mixed feelings. My date was a vegetarian and with everything under restrictions at this time, I found Monicas vegetarian menu excellent for its variety. Myself, Ive never gone for vegetarian options but decided to give their vegan sausage dinner a try. The mashed potatos though good were very heavy and could feel it go down and stay for some time. The sausages were quite good, and worth a try. As far as quantity and quality goes, it was quite hearty and looked great! Prior to our visit, I had spoken to a woman named Betty on the phone about the menu and after explaining the situation of my interest, she arranged to have Carnations put on my table. Betty was wonderful in her customer service and her efforts were appreciated. The service was insufficient, and slightly uncomfortable. For the majority of our stay we were the only customers. The gentleman who served us sat in the corner and had been staring at my date for sometime, she is beautiful but it was unwelcoming. When it came too our drinks we sat with empty cups for long periods of time. When we had finished eating, the gentleman who had served us did not return to the table. After an hour or more I had to go to him and ask for a refill. Throughout our visit he was very dissonant and our service quality declined from start to finish. During our stay, the owner offered to buy us drinks, it was kind and flattering. As neither of us drink, we humbly declined. The offer was appreciated. Towards the end, unknown too me, someone was exclaiming Hail Hitler. Unfortunatly, this, compiled with our service; we decided that we wont be returning. Should you look to Monicas for take out or delivery, I recommend this establishment wholeheartily. Alas, your dine in may be met similarily to ours and I suggest you avoid such an occurance.

Do NOT go to this restaurant, do NOT order skip from this place. There was an issue with my meal and instead of sending another food, they insisted they sent the correct thing when they Infact did not. Not only did I have to argue with the employee and MANAGER to this restaurant but the employer LIED to me. Horribly run. Horribly managed. Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. I was a returning customer. They even said they know who I am. I will NO longer order from them and I hope noone else will. They told me that my food was coming TWO TIMES and it didnt show up.

The food is excellent, filling portion sizes and reasonably priced. However another striking item is the excellent service and care given by YOGI. His personality and knowledge is above reproach. The whole meal is a worthwhile experience because of him. He truly has your taste buds and satisfaction upper most in his mind.

Service was the only reason it got more then 1 star. Price was far too high for such low quality of food. Edit: in regards to your reply 20 dollars is far to much for really bad potatoes with processed cheese and eggs. If you want some feedback better quality food would be it.

The food is always good! I do miss their buffer but with COVID Thats not happening. But when it was allowed to happen it was our favourite every Sunday! Now we visit for lunch occasionally and it s been great food every time! Always hot and delicious.

You go here for the view more than the food however the food is quite edible. The view is entirely awesome and more than makes up for the crowded small facility. If youre killing time at the tram waiting for a down car this is a good way to do it

First day of reopened lunch buffet.

They recently just started their lunch buffet again and I have to say it was really quite delicious. All the food was homemade and the staff was attentive and friendly. I will go again and if the experience is similar I can see myself going there more often..

Humptys was backed up, so I googled breakfast in Grande Prairie... Monicas came up in the top 10, so we gave it a try... wonderful! Delightful waitress, food arrived fresh and hot.

Food was good. Didnt like the burger it tastes like frozen gross burgers. Potato skins are good, my dads steak was under cooked but he was Ok with it. Tossed salad is good the popcorn shrimp was good the boys said.

Sunday Brunch at Monicas is the best I have had in Grande Prairie since I have moved here! As we all know everyone eats with their eyes first and the display is fantastic, the service is excellent and the food is so deelish! I would recomend the eggs benny any day of the week!

It took me an hour and thirty minutes to get my order. Like wth I have never waited this long for food ever.

Good food, expensive and the fact that the top portion of the restaurant wasnt it open was kind of sad. We used to sit up there all the time by the sun for supper, now we have to sit at the lower end. Besides that, service was great, food was decent, everything seemed clean!

Good specials

Still has banner sign up advertising Sunday buffet but not on today. Sign should have been removed/turned around or at least canceled posted on it. It doesnt take much to let people know. Its my birthday breakfast and we had chosen here. So might not be a next time as just cant be sure buffet will be on. Otherwise it was good the last time we went.
