Very unimpressed. Worst smittys I have ever been to. Service was unreal slow. Food was not that good. Took forever to even get bill. Was not crazy busy either.

Finished eating and had to waitover 10 minutes to be asked if I wanted anything else, which by that time I no longer wanted anything just the bill. Also, if Im paying $4.00 for a glass of pop I shouldnt have to ask or pay for a refill. I would also like to mention the place was not that busy maybe 5 other tables.

If there was an option to give negative stars I would. Went here lunch today with a friend. When we arrived, there was a good number of people in the restaurant, but most I ve already been served their food and we re eating. The waitress took our food order and waited 25 minutes for it to arrive at the table. I ordered quesadilla with fries and gravy And my friend, a hamburger with Caesar salad. When our food arrived the lady who brought it asked if my friend would like a refill of her iced tea, mine was still pretty full, while she was gone to get the refill I noticed there was a hair in my meal. Upon her return with my friends beverage I informed her of the hair, she said she would have it remade. When she went back to return my meal to the kitchen we heard her tell the staff that there was again another meal with a hair in it. My friend proceeded to eat her meal while I waited, hamburger was dry and her Cesar salad had supper watery dressing. At this point we then finally had our waitress stop back at the table and say my meal was being remade and there would be no charge for the meal, this was the only time we seen her after she took our order until we left the restaurant and she dealt with our bills. The lady who originally brought out our food returned with my remade meal , pretty sure the fries were not remade and just sat under the warmer while the remade my Quesadilla and Put it on a new plate. Well, I eat my meal. I had finished my drink and was hoping somebody would come by and offer a refill. Nobody walked by none of the staff. Upon going to pay for our bills I was charged $4 for an iced tea, no refill, and $2.50 for a super small bowl of gravy, WOW.

45 min for food order come n was cold n no bacon or mushrooms on my mozzarella bacon cheeseburger n lettuce was orang as well as wife s salad that showed up ten minutes later n beef on beef dip dried up like no other pretty much crunchy fries were cold n better yet they didn t even bring out my grandsons chicken strips , place is disgusting af walked out I hope you don t eat there cause if you do good chance you will get food poisoning!

There was no wait time, they took us to our table immediately. The Manager helped get our order of drinks, and the hostess helped serve them. The waiter was very courteous and made sure we got our order in right away, and the food was very good.

Good afternoon to whoever may read this Email . My family and I had breakfast at your Grande Praire Alberta restaurant and I must say it was a most disappointing experience. We were there at approximately 1030 on a Thursday on Feb 15 2024. The waitress came and offered us menus and took our drink order...so far so good. We placed our food order when our drinks arrived a few minutes after that.after a LENGTHY 35 minutes later we received our food....this is where we had problems. We were fortunate to FINALLY receive our food in a short 35 minutes.During this time several tables sat and ate while we patiently waited for our food. My wife ordered bacon crisp....it was best described as being partially cooked on her plate(pig still attached).....my meat lovers skillet arrived(toast showed up about 5 minutes after my main dish)and my food was ice cold!!!!!!! It was at this point I decided to eat the toast, leave incredibly disgruntled WITHOUT SO MUCH AS AN APOLOGY from your staff or management. And the fact I STILL left a tip after the waitress informed me when I refused a re-do on my food as I did not have the time her response was we are busy which shouldnt be in a customer service base industries vocabulary!!!!! So I can only say that my family and I returning will not happen. You need to improve this ......small restaurants have a tendency to not last long in GP Alberta......and they go down even faster when they are bad.I would give you NO STARS, but that wasnt an option. Came in for fries to go on my break from work(Wich I do alot), no one to even recognize your there, not even 20 seconds after ordering I get my take out, get back to work, over cooked cold fries that obviously had been sitting awhile!! Being a server for many years, totally unacceptable. Guess Ill be hoping over to the Casino from now on

Smittys Grande Prairie has improved immensely since the last smittys was here. The kitchen can be slow as hell but your server will take amazing care of you while you wait. The managers could do more than be in the way but otherwise smittys is a great restaurant.

Would give them less if I could. Should have known it would be bad when floor manager told us the kitchen was running slow. 5 waitresses, 1 floor manager & only 15 customers and never they never even took our drink orders after 1/2 hour. Walked out never to go there again. BAD BAD!

Was there on day 2 opening. The waitress was nice. But the food wasnt anything special While we waited for food, we went to bathroom. And could not believe that a brand newly renovated place has a bathroom looking like this on day Its like they didnt even touch the bathroom Then they got my order wrong. Ive heard so many bad stories since they reopened. Which works because I was excited to have Smittys again. Bummer.

just home from dinner at Smittys. The food was amazing,. Both my husband and I had different burgers. My burger was cooked to perfection. The bacon was nicely done. The fries were crispy. Portions were good. The young woman that served us was on her first shift. Her name was Brandi. The service she provided was impeccable. The cost was more then reasonable. We will definitely be back. Love the new restaurant and location by the casino.

The renovation is lovely, very nice and fresh and friendly staff. But.....You guys have been open long enough now to be doing better than what I experienced last evening. It was not overly busy, as we got there after 7pm. It took quite awhile to have our order taken. Unfortunately our food was cold when it arrived 45 mins later. Because of the location they sat us at in the restaurant we saw our food sitting up in the service window of the kitchen for quite awhile. When we inquired about our food that is when they finally brought the food that was sitting in the window. This place is very disorganized no one seems to know what anyone is doing. I was looking forward to having a Smittys Restaurant in Grande Prairie again, but unfortunately I dont think Ill be back.

Not busy at all but all the customers were complaining about the wait. It took over an hr to get our food. The veggies and french fries with the main course were the frozen McCain types. The mashed potatoes were the insta mix sort. The beef dip was served on a hamburger bun cut in half. The beef du jour only filled a 1/4 of the dipping cup. For the price charged it was not worth it. Felt more like a cash grab. Will eventually go the way of Swiss Chalet. Wheelchair accessibility: It was there

Worst dining experience I have ever had. Came for breakfast with my family. When we were greeted an older server was giving the hostess trouble for not seating enough people in her section. We re seated at our table. Hostess came over and told us it would be a half hour wait for food. We ordered as soon as we could. 60 minutes later they bring out 2 ice cold plates, missing items. The fruit cup was a canned fruit salad with fresh blueberries and strawberries on top. The kitchen is behind on pancakes is what we were told after waiting for our food for an hour. 75 minutes in and we still hadn t seen a pancake. I have never had a Smitty s meal as disappointing and with such poor service. We wont be back.

We were excited for the new Smittys as we were frequent diners at the previous location. However it felt as though they were understaffed during lunch hours (11:30 -1:30) and we hardly saw our waitress. The wait times between receiving our drinks, ordering our food and when the food arrived was too far apart. Also when we inquired about the Seniors Discount we were informed they no longer offer senior discounts due to covid. Finally, when we were paying our bill with cash, our waitress DID NOT offer us our change and simply took the cash and left. I feel that if they could increase their staff they would be able to offer better service as the new location is lovely and our food was well made and delicious.

Our waitress Michelle was so good she is good at her job Their digital order system is garbage The restaurant is terribly managed it took over a hour to get a fairly simple order out to our table then when we get our food it was cold the kitchen cant keep up there are way to many tables in there wont be going back there

Hostess didnt greet or smile. Took 20mins to get a coffee. Had to ask repeatedly for jam,syrup,creamers for the table. At one point the waitress just dropped the bowl of creamers on the table as she walked by. Food was good, and came out in a reasonable time. Service is lacking.

Always loved Smittys breakfast

Ordered through skip the dishes, food was all cold. I ordered the So-Cal eggs Benedict which is supposed to be vegetarian but it came with meat crumble all over, tomatoes were missing, the avocado looked like it had been taken out of the trash, and the hollandaise was gross. My husband got the Meat Lovers skillet which was okay but his toast was missing. Only gave 2 stars because our friend got the Crunchy Chicken burger which was apparently pretty good. Vegetarian options: They clearly don t know what this means.

TLDR: food was meh (not excellent but not bad) the service wasnt good but we got a waitress that seemed newish and didnt care to be there, Im sure not all their staff is like that. We have been to smittys twice now and honestly havent been blown away either time. The food was ok, my nephew ordered soft for his eggs Benny and it came out med to hard. I wouldnt order the poutine unless you like your cheese curds cold and not melting on your fries. The service, I kinda gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was just new and she couldve been, but by the end you could really tell that she could care less about being there. Hearing her say thats disgusting loudly to a coworker while coming out of the kitchen was a put off, she made sure to say it had nothing to do with the food... Im hoping they get better as they are open longer, might try again in a few months.

Slow and excuses. Brought drinks in to go cups half full. 45 wait for breakfast food. Asked for a second coffee never came. Only quick thing that happened was bringing the bill. Won t come back.

First time dining here since it opened. It was very clean and tables were kept nicely. Our server was fantastic. She was super friendly and happy, gave suggestions from the menu and checked on us regularly. The meal was very good and presented nicely. I will defenitely be going back again. I would highly recommend. Parking: There was lots of parking spots available. Kid-friendliness: Our server was great with my daughter and went above and beyond for her with her kids dessert.

Super grateful for toddler friendly service. My little can be so busy at times but they cooled his food and had enough activity to keep him busy tell food arrived. Best meal out I have had since he started moving

First star, Food was great! Second star, staff was friendly. Theres only 3 problems Problem 1, the radio is on multiple speakers and it is not syncd so once you hear the beat missing by 1 second its annoying Problem 2, the place just opened and the mens bathroom stall door has a broken lock, and it hasnt been painted since this was the bar. Problem 3 food service is slow we came and there was only 2 other customers, it was worth the wait.

The restaurant is clean and the service is excellent, very friendly and fast. The cooks do a great job at the prepararion and cooking the meals, howevet the quality of food is not what I expected for the price! My suggestion for this restaurant is, if you expect customers to pay an average of $20 per plate for eggs, at least use REAL eggs! Breakfast for my family of 4 was $100. (INCL. TIP) We will NOT return for breakfast!

Disappointed is an understatement. After waiting over an hour for our breakfast, it came out cold. Clearly had been sitting there for some time and the sausages looked like they had been cooked in a microwave. Completely lost my appetite and couldn t bring myself to eat the replacement dish. You d think they would ve credited one of the meals. Nope, the credited one of our juices lol what a joke. Stay away from this place, absolutely terrible.

Absolutely delicious. I had a waffle with whipped cream and strawberries and it was just as magical as I remember it being when I was a kid.

Slow service, and cold food.

After being treated poorly at a different restaurant, we headed to Smittys with our 2 little girls, one being disabled in an accessible stroller. They were quick to seat us where we had lots of room and interacted with both of our daughters and made our visit so amazing. The food was great, but the service was amazing. Thank your to you staff on Sunday who went above and beyond to make our breakfast amazing. Kid-friendliness: They are so good with little kids!

today is sept Saturday 23 we orderes 3 meals. the food was warm ..breaded veal cutlet was way over cooked and tissue paper thin. the Salisbury steak was ok gravy and potatoes warm veg hot and tasty. the meat lovers dish was a joke!!! half of a sausage 4 pieces of bacon and a small small piece of ham ..mostly hashbrowns with scrambled eggs...trace of cheese ... DO NOT ORDER THAT!!!! Would i go back? NO would i recommend this place? NO our waitress was very friendly.. the kid that picked up our dishes left one plate didnt return and when passing again had to be asked to take the dirty dish. this was our experience not impressed

Don t waste you re time here manager is a real piece of work food is disgusting, we ordered breakfast and you think we got what we wanted? Nope if you order the big country breakfast don t expect them to give you any pancakes or bacon or sausage such a joke, it was better when they didn t exist thanks for the disappointment smiths

I got everything I asked for in a timely matter

Food was excellent. Staff were extremely busy maybe under staffed or possibly under experienced. Staff was very polite except for the one older lady that stopped by our table and told me not to tip my waitress she is doing a horrible job. So i tipped $25. Iv never ever had another waitress stop and tell me not to tip her. Very unprofessional. But the restaurant is very clean modern.

Excellent breakfast. Our first time in the new location and its been awhile since we have been to Smittys. Wifes Denver omelet was packed full, fluffy and hot. My scrambled eggs and bacon perfect. Server was friendly and funny and the owner came around to check on us and other customers. A great touch.

This restaurant had a sign outside saying Just Opened, so we gave it a shot. There were 5 tables in the restaurant with patrons, & its a huge place. The girl serving us was very nice. The food lacked any seasoning & was meh until we added salt & pepper to it.

The service was the worst I ve ever experienced, the servers were good once they came to the table after 25 minutes, We then ordered our beverages and our menu selections which were all breakfast , server didn t have any paper to write down the orders and by the time she took our order it was another 30 minutes before the food was served. The bathrooms are disgustingly stinky! Just an overall bad experience and we weren t the only ones who experienced this today. Management should be ashamed of themselves.

I really hate giving a bad review, I have always enjoyed smittys restaurants, so I was happy to see one back in grande prairie. When it first opened, the food was good service terrible I felt give it another chance Second time was much the same, the owner said he was having trouble getting staff We decided to give it one more chance today. We were seated and told that the waitress had just got there and had several tables ahead of us. After waiting 15 minutes and no sign of getting served or even a cup of coffee we left and went to Humpties, they were also busy but a much better waitress had us seated and coffee in front of us within a couple minutes, our order placed and shortly after our breakfast arrived. The owner of the smittys really needs to get some good staff! As I said I hate giving a bad review but this needs to be said! I want them to succeed

Love that we got our Smittys back. Great food and great service. The Smittys I used to know and love had great coffee, but after this location opened, it tasted burnt and bitter. A couple of months later and it just tasted bitter. I hope they improve on this.

Weve had great service and delicious food multiple times... Until today. We sat there for 15 minutes after receiving a table and we didnt get so much as a howdy. During busy hours, even that would be understandable but, with just a handful of customers and multiple waitresses walking around, it didnt make any sense. We left without food

For newcomers to GP, the location is difficult to find even for the cab drivers. However, once inside it is gorgeous and inviting. We went and sat in the lounge on a slower day and service was fast, friendly and the food came out delishious. Smittys has always been one of my favorites for all day breakfast.

Food is usually pretty good early morning so thats nice. Also the servers are friendly and prompt, so I appreciate that. Of all the restaurants open at 7am, its my favorite.

Wouldnt suggest visiting in the afternoon. If at all, the old ladies chicken was thuroughly cooked, yes, but so should it be if you leave it to keep warm on a stove top all day. The waitress was great though.

Today we had walked in not a customer in sight or any workers... waited about 5 minutes.. a server walked right past us, didn t acknowledge us.. so we took it upon ourself to find a seat (not a big deal), still continued to wait. Again no sign or any workers.. we left. The sign defiantly will not bring in customers. Ya
