Visited Podollan Jax restaurant and bar very nice place, away from all the crowded places had a good time you should try their sea food platter that comes with extra 2 glasses of house wine. Definitely returning.

Frozen burger patty for 25$ no thanks. Hope the quality of their mains match the price. Seems the head chef is lazy. Just because you have leather seats doesnt mean you can charge fresh prices for frozen food.

Place stated they were open online, when we showed up the restaurant was open when we walked in the staff stared at us and asked what we wanted. We stated we were there for lunch. They responded as we don t open until 4pm even tho there were people sitting in the restaurant eating. When questioned why does it state your open online they responded no it doesn t. Horrible service and rude employees.

The staff at Jax grill is second to none. Always friendly and helpful Christina, Laila, Alexey and Marvin, are a great group. would recommend to anyone to try it out.

Worst service Ive had in this town. We waited over a half hour just to get a drink, and then over an hour just to get our food. And when it came out half our orders were cold, and the steaks werent cooked properly. Food is also grossly overpriced for the quality we received.

$13.13 for pint of beer. One choice on tap. Might be the most expensive place in town to drink. Its definitely not worth the cost.

The morsels of food are delicious but are teeny tiny serving sizes and suuuper slow service. We had to remind our server so many times that we had ordered drinks and waited hours for our food. We talked to the manager about how we were unhappy with our experience who in reply gave us a whole $2.50 off our bills. Its hard to recommend your friends to go there or have a date night when you know you wont be treated with care and that youll leave still hungry.

Stayed here for work, the food has been consistently good, even if the wait staff has been slow, except for the pepperoni pizza. 10 pizza for $24 and only 6 slices of pepperoni.

I travel alot and one of my best meals in some time and really good value for the great food. I had wings and Japanese chicken burger.

My friends and I went there yesterday for my birthday. We arrived at 630pm, and food was served around 830pm. I decided to go there as I had been there before and had a good experience, but this time it was horrible. Besides the food being very late our waitress was very rude when serving us. We asked for separate bills, she got upset because it was more work for her she said. My food was good, no complaints, some of my friends did not like theirs, they returned it and decided not to eat as the food was taken too long to be served. I was very disappointed as I has spoken highly about Jax to my friend but I dont think we will be going back!

Stopped by, had the New York steak, was cooked just perfect and loaded with tons of flavor. The chef hit a home run, well done! Also excellent service, fast and very friendly, definitely will be back.

My wife and I stopped here for dinner and the service was great and friendly, our dinner was very good. My wife got the stir-fry, and I got the peppercorn steak.

I came down from the room and had coffee before my spouse woke. He came down and we waited 30 min and 4 I will be right with you comments just to have my husband not even get a cup for coffee. He had to drink out of mine. We left after 45 min and ordered room service in hopes of getting the complimentary breakfast. We proceeded to wait 45 more minutes before we gave up and had to go find breakfast somewhere else. Not impressed with the service at all.

This place used to be great what happened. Service sucked. food is mediocre. Had to ask for a napkin. No cutlery. . Drinks suck. Too bad it was a go-to.

Despite numerous other complaints which unfortunately I only discovered now this place still advertises their breakfast as a buffet. Had to sit and wait 45 minutes for a real nothing to brag about breakfast. Will never ever support them again. Wish I could give ZERO stars.

I ordered the artisan salad. Ingredients are:Baby spinach dressed in balsamic dressing Topped with goat cheese, red onions, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, pecans,Roasted pumpkin seeds, almonds Flakes and beet chips. What I got... Baby spinach, nuts, almond slices, beet chips, anddddddd SAUTÉED MUSHROOMs! ummmm GROSS. No cucumbers, onions or cherry tomatoes. First, who puts slimy mushrooms in a salad???? I almost puked. They did replace my salad with the California avocado and chicken salad. Way better, but thoughts of mushrooms will haunt me now lol

The food was very good, both dinner and breakfast. Presentation was well thought out, and the service was amazing. Would recommend and will go again.

Worst nachos ever . Cheese was dried out almost burnt ,about 4 slices of olives no other veggies. Pathetic. Should not have been served.

50 minutes for food and was told it was fresh out of the kitchen, butter chicken sat so long that the top had turned hard. Very slow service, this was one of my to go to places not now.

Ordered room service from the Podollan. Overly sauced ribs, no veggies on the plate, side salad with wilted spinach, half a tomato and couple pieces of cucumber. Order the kids chicken fingers, safest option ;) Good thing my hotel bed is comfy.

Food is over priced and the servers are inexperienced. I order a steak sandwich rare with no cheese and a garden salad instead of fries. The first offering came with cheese and fries. The women looked like she was going to refuse to take it back. Second one came well done and so thin it would have been impossible to do rare and still had fries. No veggies at all were offered. . The steak tasted ok. I did not eat the fries or the bun which was huge. I ate the steak as it was now after 7 pm and I had not eaten since 10AM. I asked for Earl Grey tea. I was served English breakfast. I was not impressed. One could tell the serving staff were trying hard. They were very inexperienced but friendly. They were obviously struggling I will not be recommending this place for dinner. It will probably be ok if you want to go in for a drink. I gave them one star only as 1/2 star was not available.

Salty food, didn t get the appetizer we ordered, ordered medium steak and it was well done. I would recommend saving your money for the Keg or Sawmill if you are looking for a good grill or steak house.

Third time Ive eaten here. The first two times the food was excellent & the service was acceptable. This time--not so much. A lunch special & a burger. Over an hour to get our order. Burger was really not acceptable.

They charged a 15% service charge and didnt show me the bill until after Id already paid. Dont get ripped off! Edit: This food was not ordered to my hotel room, it was ordered and consumed at the restaurant- I wasnt even staying at the hotel.

Went for their wing night (Monday night) and they said they where out of wings. Hard to believe, but it happens. Later when we asked about the wings again, it was communicated to our table that they would only give us wings for their wing night special for the first pound, and then it was regular price after this. While I appreciate the desire to have a wing night, I was NOT impressed by telling us that because they where low on wing supply, we could only have a single pound of wings at their wing night price. I rarely leave a one star review, but this was not a great experience. On a good note, the servers where polite.

My boyfriend and i went for our anniversary. We got the couples land and sea meal. For the price there was soo much food and everything was cooked perfectly! One of the best meals weve had in a long time! The servers were very friendly and attentive as well. We will probably be going there every time we go to gp. :)

They never answer their phones to book reservations. I cant use open table as they do not allow it. Its too bad, Ive tried to make reservations all year. The just never answer the phone

Liked the atmosphere. My waiter was friendly and did a great job helping me find something on the menu I could have. He didnt seem to grow impatient when I brought up I have allergies. The chef clearly knows what they are doing. My vegan meal (which I thought Id just give it a try) was amazing and creative. The burger was the size of two burgers. The flavour profile throughout had my taste buds dancing, texture was perfect, and great balance of fresh/cooked. Im very impressed by the meal. Thanks Ishwin and Jax Team!

Thought the menu looked good, but unfortunately didn t get the chance to try it. We were greeted when we arrived and were told to go find a table to sit at. After sitting for 20 minutes without an order given or a drink offered we got up and left. Reading reviews it appears this is a common issue with this establishment. The replies from the restaurant state the service issues have been addressed, obviously this is not true. We went to The Office instead and had an excellent meal and great service there.

Asked about GF options marked on the menu, chef was not willing to accommodate GF at all. Too much trouble for him. Didn t eat. Service is horrific. If you are celiac don t eat here. They don t know or care what celiac is despite their options on the menu.

Nice atmosphere. Service was friendly. I took a risk and ordered fish and chips because they sounded amazing and Ive been trying a lot of restaurants versions of this. Absolutely disappointing. While all my friends meals looked and sounded great i was more than disappointed. Super small portion of fish, dry dry dry. Came off as a 20$ kids meal.

The service at this place is shocking!! We waited 45 minutes for some wings, then our burgers came about 25 minutes later without any sides. Would not recommend.

Terrible service, was there for work on L.o.a and the waiter actually confronted my co worker as to why yeah wasnt tipping very much, the same waiter also took a pitcher of pop off a dirty table and refilled my pop with the other people jug. Needless to say I was speechless .. if I wasnt on a room charge account for food I would not be eating here,

Ive only been there twice but the food is delicious. My wife and I both had salmon and it did not disappoint. I like the atmosphere and layout of this restaurant. The staff was very considerate and attended to us well.

Food is alright . Stuffed meat balls a little dry.. stuffing hardly noticeable. Small quantity on the dip. Seem to rush you. So atmosphere is lacking. Remember better days for sure. Yes been a while since I was there not likely Ill return soon.

Plenty of vegan options, thank you! Vegan spaghetti couldve used more seasonings and we really wish they had the quinoa burger while we were there. I ordered a side salad, as the vegan spaghetti meal was almost entirely processed carbs but didnt receive it. I didnt say anything but when I got the bill, it was still there. Fortunately they took it off. The wait was a bit excessive for food and service and we had to wait a long time for the check, even after asking for it. The atmosphere was elegant, yet cozy. I was delighted to hear that they had local beer, which was tasty.

Some of THE worst service Ive ever had. Food was mediocre. Took over a half hour to get our bill, and drinks were just as long. Only thing that was good from my steak dinner was the salad. Wouldnt recommend.

Good food, nice service !

I travel constantly. In 25 years I have commented probably 4 times. 2 good 2 bad. Now we are at 5 with 3 bad. Since this was at my hotel I gave it two chances. Watched as other patrons exclaimed surprise when their food showed up not being what they expected. Well my turn now. First my Caesar salad showed up and I have never seen any Caesar like it before. Did my best to finish. Was not successful. Then a spaghetti with marrinerra sauce came. My bad. The meatballs were some non Meat bean veggie ball that was, hard to describe but absolutely horrible. Oh well, surely the spaghetti and sauce will be normal. Nope. Not only was the pasta severly overcooked, (boo hoo) but the sauce tasted like it came from chef boyardee. Complete with bland chemical taste. In short I was not happy. Least the wine was OK. Left hungry. Will not be choosing here again. Lesson learned. I am reconsidering that I gave them two stars after writing this. I just cant bring myself to slam any business that is trying that hard. Cheers all.

The most horrible service I have ever experienced yet, like in my life! I sat without even being served for 22 mins. (Can you tell I timed it). Finally a server came up to my table and I ordered coffee, mixed it took a sip and it was FREEZING COLD. waited than another 15 to get a hot coffee. Ordered the half rack ribs when steamed veggies and ceasar salad. Couldnt finish the ribs they were super hard on the top layer. Steamed veggies were raw. Extremely crunchy, ceasar salad was less than mediocre. Would NOT RECOMMEND this place ever! Thank God the hotel attached doesnt reflect this resturants quailty of service. Oh forgot to add when my food was brought to my table the lady tried giving me someones cutlery that wasnt taken away from the table from when I first sat! Gross!.

We went out for our sons birthday..the service was slow..seemed to be inexperienced servers that were struggling. .drinks were slow..but when the food arrived it seemed like everyone enjoyed it..I didnt look at the bill very closely (my fault) but realized when we got home we were overcharged for 2 drinks..also because we were a large group there was a 15 percent gratuity added to our bill. .the server said that automatically went to the restaurant. .not the serving staff so we had to tip on top of the 15 percent. .please explain to me how that works..the server did give us 10 percent off our bill for the slow service but not to the person sitting next to us at the same table..weird..wont be back in a large group ever

I love the presentation and the taste of the food! Everything was done just right! Were nit fans of high sodium or high fats. Everything here was perfect. The garlic bread was not burnt or dried, the salad had the perfect crisp in the veggies and the vinaigrette was light and flavourful. We ordered stacked Portobello, lamb, salad with steak, and also seafood pasta.

I always forget to check this place out. Went tonight and had a great meal. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and a medium rare rib eye cooked perfectly. If you havent been lately, give it a shot.

Went for Mothers day brunch, food was great with a wide variety and priced well. Only had to wait at the end to get the receipt to pay, that took about 20min.

Ate here last night and had the signature steak. While the service was good the 39$ dish left me wondering where my money was going. The steak was ok, although lacking what the menu described as a pistachio crust which was actually a few pieces hidden under the sliver of brie cheese. The sides were embarrassing, no way around that. Basmati rice with frozen chopped veg, and the seasonal veg was broccoli cauliflower and carrot. The chefs potato was an underseasoned underwhelming mashed potato in a bowl that took on a nice gloss from sitting under a heat lamp while it took the kitchen 45 to prepare our 3 nearly identical dishes. All this on an empty Friday night. I know know why the customers have gone elsewhere.

Our favourite place to go for dinner. The friendly service and the meals are #1. The chef put together the best plate of nachos I have ever had a few weeks ago. The delicious rib eye steak was cooked to medium rare perfection as I requested last night. The staff is The Best always looking after you and always a smile. No loud music playing so you can actually have a conversation with your friends. Salt & Pepper will return!

Worse service ever wasnt bust at all took over an hour to get our food ..

My husband and I waited 2 hours for our appetizers and it was another hour and a half for two steaks!!! The waiters ( we had 3) kept bringing us drinks until we told all 3 of them no more until we asked. Worst date EVER!!!

Our meal was exceptional! The steak was cooked perfect,just like we asked. Always find its hard to order a good steak because several places in GP the cooks do not know how to stop before its too done . The waitress we had was very friendly. Great atmosphere for couples and drinks .

Wasn t sure who my server was. When my order did come it was short the side salad I had ordered. The food that did show up was good. Had to wait 15 minutes for my bill after asking for it. Even by Grande Prairie standards this was bad service.

The lamb dish is remarkable. Their breakfast is good. The layout is a little awkward.

The food was sub par, as was the service.We were the only table (of 4) in the place and took 45 minutes to get our food, and a very long time to get our bill once we were finished. Also the cesar salad two of us ordered came with a dressing that was grayish/red in color and tasted nothing like what it should have, I ordered a lemonade and the glass smelled as if it were cleaned with a dirty rag. Will not be going back.

I was really excited to try this local restaurant as it was attached to my hotel. We were seated immediately and menus were handed to us while waiting....and wait we did. After 10 mins nobody returned to inquire about drinks, so we took the hint and went to the Keg across the street. I felt the reviews were a little rough, but now I realize they were the harsh reality of this establishment.

Breakfast buffet is OK, and the omelette station is a nice touch. The steaks are good with good sides, too. Skip the Portobello Tower appetizer because it looks like a portobello puddle, and isnt even tasty.

Have enjoyed Jax every time I have stayed at podollan inn. Service is great and enjoyed the mussels apply numerous times. Breakfast is great and you get an omelette. Cant beat that!

Restaurant connected to the Podollan Inn and Spa. Nothing to write home about. The dinner fare is routine at best, but they cook their steaks properly to temperature which didnt go by unnoticed. Restaurant also doubles as the breakfast buffet for the hotel...and that was crap, as are most hotel breakfast buffets. If you dont like heavy, greasy, sugary crap in the morning, youll need to go somewhere else.
