Cozy little restaurant with a warm welcome. Started off with the chicken satay followed by the pad thai and the wife got the yellow curry. All the dishes were so good! Will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely perfect. I crave Traditional Thai cuisine ever since my travels and this is the only place that has given such authentic flavours true to the traditional dishes. Nice menu with many items having a 1-2-3 scales for spicyness. I semi-joked to the waitress by asking a number 4 tom yum shrimp. Apparently, I accidently unlock a secret level of spicyness. It was still delicious but extremely spicy. Fresh food, easy parking, decent prices and great service.

I ordered from Canadian Thai when I was in GP for work. I came up from Edmonton. We have a LOT of Thai restaurants in Edmonton. I ve had most of them. This restaurant excels with their curries full of veggies and protein. Often most Thai restaurants skimp on the veggies and protein. Not only is the flavor and spice exceptional but all the extras in there make it even better!! I will definitely be buying more dishes from here when I come up again!

Great restaurant. Few dishes didnt feel my authentic Thai needs. Somtam was way to salty and off flavoured. Cale and crispy pork, they just deep-fried some pork pieces, wasnt the pork belly sun cured authentic Thai style and sauce. Service was great though. Friendly, quick and super attentive

I was at this restaurant just last sat and the owner/server said she was busy gave me a menu then after 10 mins or so she never came back she seemed busy but its no excuse, i was very hungry and ended up at dennys which i didnt enjoy, not customer problem if u dont have staff, ive eaten here many times before and was shocked i was treated this way, hire people if you cant handle the work yourself, too bad i enjoyed food i wont be rushing back with the service i never got customers always come first!!!!

We have eaten here on several occasions. The food, service and price are excellent on all accounts. They have a variety of dishes to choose from making it one of our favorite restaurants! Epic!

Love eating here, the food is delicious. I usually am going for the Pad Thai and if Im feeling like I want a little extra I ask for the appetizer combo. The Paf Thai is sweet amd salty and comes with a lelime wedge which adds the start. Bith dishes contains peanuts.

I got the drunken noodles. I love spicy food so I got 2 out of 3 for spiciness. It was definitely EXTREMELY spicy so next time I will get a 1. But it was still delicious !!

It s definitely not the best Thai food I have had. We tried the beef egg noodles, pad thai with chicken, beef spring rolls. Both the noddle dishes had a very fishy taste. Almost tasted like it was drenched in fish sauce. The beef spring rolls were good

The rude owner and horrific health inspection reports (theyre available for the public to see, just Google) should be enough to keep you away. If you have an issue with your food, this guy will probably swear at you.

I personally like to look at reviews to see how many people like there food and such, but looking upon, the owners comments are GROSS when replying to bad reviews. Who talks like that to their customers? I get your a small business but please clean up your act. Thats how you get boycott sir

I cannot express how much I love this little restaurant. I was in the mood for Thai today and stopped into the restaurant I drive by all the time. I was NOT disappointed. The pad thai was sweet and the drunken noodles a little spicy....the perfect mix. #supportlocal

Stopped in today to grab a pick up order of deepfried wontons and shrimp cakes. Delicious, juicy, savory shrimp cakes and perfect little wontons! Ive dined in before too and the food was fantastic, so flavorful and fresh and the portions were huge. Thank you Canadian Thai for great experiences!

A hidden treasure with great food.

I tried Canadian Thai to see if it would compare with food I had, many times, in Thailand. Unfortunately it did not. I asked for Thai spicy. Which I enjoy... I even enjoy Laos level of spice, debatably even spicier that Thai. What I got was a dish void of flavor other than a heap of Birdseye (Thai) chili dumped on a standard made to order dish. There are other options in town that I will done at.

First time trying this place with my friend. Reasons for 2 stars... food was ok, we wish it had a bit more flavour, the server was not wearing a mask and a few people that came in during our time there didn t either. Plus my friend doesn t eat gluten and when she asked if they could make it gluten free it seemed like it was going to be a hard job to do.

We had takeout last week. The food was meh but once again the server and another customer had no masks. We were tempted to turn around and leave.....

Always delicious, I cant get enough Pad Thai! We always enjoy our meal here, which is 1-3 times a month. Food is so fresh, reasonable priced, which rarely happens in GP and prepared pretty quickly. Bonus, the cleanest restaurant restroom you have ever seen!

Ordered Pad Thia for the first time today form Canadian Thia and was very impressed with the flavor and portion size that you get. Will definitely be back to support this local business!!

Great fresh Thai food

I was pleasantly surprised. Had a red curry chicken with coconut rice take out and it was fantastic. Good amount of chicken, nice crunchy veggies, very tasty curry and coconut milk sauce.

Bought the Pad-Ka-Pow here yesterday and it tasted delicious! Cant wait to try the other items on their menu :)

We decided to do take out and ordered from Canadian Thai! We go two different Currys, a noodle bowl, wonton soup and an appetizer combo. I was not disappoint in any of it! The yellow curry said mild spicy but it was quite spicy for me which inturn was super spicy for my toddler who loves curry! So she was upset she couldnt eat it, especially since it is so flavorful!! We will most definitely order from here again!! Ps: get the roti!

Canadian Thai is my favourite all time restaurant. A gem in the ruff! The food is fresh and bursting with flavour. The portion sizes are perfect and filling. The service is great & very personable. It is so nice to have a restaurant that takes pride and care in cooking each meal. I take everyone I can there and they always go back. Everyone must try this restaurant at least once.

I have never heard of a papaya salad until I went to this place. It is amazing and you can up the heat if your like me and like it really hot. Level 5 drunken noodle gets me every time. Highly recommend this place and they have quick take-out times.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Grande Prairie! The curry is fantastic, both the green and yellow curry are the go-to when we eat here.

This place is great! Loved the pad thai and the beef stir fry with rice noodles. Husband had thai red curry beef! The kids loved it so much my daughter said it was the best food she has ever had! The staff were nice and friendly. We had enough food left for another meal. Definitely a new favorite! Cant wait to try the rest of the menu! P.S.the fresh spring rolls with the translucent rice paper was the most unique taste I ever had!!!

If you re travelling and have a thai food craving id suggest going at this thai food it was good we had good service and the prices are decent

Best Thai I ve had in a while!! Veggie pad Thai tasted like a hug

Everything I have had on this menu is unbelievably delicious!! Eating in, pick up , and delivery is really fast. The service is the best! The owner is patient and attentive. I admire his ability to keep smiling! The food is outstanding and Im now stuck! Its all I want to eat.

Small quality diner...tasty...

First time trying it tonight after hearing lots of good reviews. Just a couple of younger adults working and they were so friendly. It s a busy Friday night and the kitchen was backed up. A couple of guys came in and were loudly taking it out on the staff that their order wasn t ready yet and just being really obnoxious. They went on and on and then left outside to pout and vape. I commended the kids on keeping their cool, they were still so kind and professional to those guys. My order was nearly 30 mins longer than the cook time quoted and the one female staff approached me a few times while I waited to apologize. In the end, the food was very good. Was too bad that the cook time was nearly an hour but it was a busy Friday night but the staff are stellar!

Food was delicious. The curry had a slightly different flavour profile from what I am used to from the Thai restaurants I visit in Edmonton, but it was equally as good in its own way. Definitely worth trying. 4 stars based on the quality of food, but... What leaves a bad taste in my mouth is the owners responses to bad reviews. It comes across childish and unprofessional. Even telling one reviewer to go back to Hong fah and enjoy their poor hours, while telling another reviewer to support their community with love not hate. Take your own advice! You dont need to tell off bad reviews. The number of good reviews speaks for itself. Just acknowledge complaints and move on. Be professional!

Very disappointed with the food. Ordered veggie pad thai and spring rolls. The pad thai had an odd flavour that was quite off putting. The spring rolls were a complete rip off! I paid $6.50 for three spring rolls, and expected large rolls at that prices. Instead I received tiny ones that arent worth $0.50each! Would not order again

I had the fried asparagus dish which is one of my Thai favorites. It was excellent! Not as spicy as I would have liked but next time I will just ask for more chilis. Restaurant was clean and comfortable. Service was fast and polite and washrooms were very clean.

Very authentic Thai food! The food was so good the first time I went I had to go back the next day to try more. Small place but great service and friendly staff. Cannot wait to go back and try more. The fresh salad rolls are some of the best Ive had.

100% hands down the best authentic Thai cuisine Ive had in all of Alberta. We had the Panang (dry curry) and the asparagus stir fry. Both were excellent 10/10. Proper ingredients, the spice level was spot on (i asked for 3 or 4 on a 1-3 scale). A distinguished palate can really tell the time and care was taken in the preparation and sauces. We will definitely be coming back to try the whole menu, tip to tail. The service was great and food was next level. Thank you again for the great meal

Delicious Pad Thai, food tastes fresh

It was so lovely to stumble upon this gem. My favorite part about visiting Thailand was the food, I ate curry every day and it was the best 2 months of my life lol. Coming to the restaurant is such a treat. On top of it, I am vegan and have celiacs disease, this restaurant is vegan and celiac friendly- the yellow curry is to die for!! Its also very affordable with good portion sizes and the curry comes with rice, you dont have to buy seperate. A good filling meal is only 15$, you could probably take half and save it for another meal if you wanted too! The front staff is very friendly and the service is really quick. Im giving this place 5 stars, they deserve it and it is definitely my new favorite restaurant in all of grande prairie.

We are just in town for a few days and decided to try this place out as we were walking past trying to figure out where to eat. My husband is a big fan of Thai food, so it was more for his tastes than mine... that being said, this restaurant has changed my mind about Thai food. Husband said it was the best Thai meal he s had! Ingredients were fresh, super tasty and I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients. Chicken was high quality, no fat or gristle (I m really picky). The place was very clean and service was excellent. Even though it s a small restaurant, it was not crowded, which I appreciate. Prices surprised me and for once, it was a pleasant surprise. It s not often that you get a starter, two meals and a side for under $40.00. We even had leftovers as the portions are large. What an amazing deal! We will definitely be eating here again before we head out of town. Thank you for such a wonderful meal that we both thoroughly enjoyed!

Friendly service and tasty food in a small friendly owed restaurant. Food is on the smaller side so one might need and second entree to fill you up. At $15/entree, you will likely spend $20-30/person depending on if you share.

Had a chance to go here for supper last night. For apples, we had the Chicken Satay (Amazing) and also the Vegetarian Spring rolls (Amazing). Had the Pad Thai for main course (Really Good), and for desert had the Stick Mango Rice (Was OK) The service was really good and didn t not take long for the food to arrive. The food seemed very fresh and quite authentic. The prices very reasonable as well. I look forward to more local restaurants opening in town and will definitely be back here.

AMAZING. You cannot go wrong with this menu. Every single dish is authentic, beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The chicken, pork and beef are so tender, and so full of flavour! Dishes are prepared to suit your personal heat level. Plenty of vegetables and served piping hot. Beyond fresh! So far I ve tried Spicy Rice noodle soup, Tom Yum soup, Coconut Chicken soup, Mango Salad, Pork Spring Rolls, Fresh Rolls with Peanut sauce, Thai Spicy Basil Chicken, Red Curry, Chicken Satay, Spicy Wide Noodle, all DELICIOUS. Papaya salad is out of this world refreshing. All of the food is! The owners are truly wonderful; so friendly- and they will help you choose your food adventure. The restaurant & restrooms are exceptionally clean, too. Can t wait to go back!

October 6/18, was so excited to go and finally will have the chance to taste the food in Canadian Thai-GP..But, I was disappointed--very much It wasnt busy when we arrived there, one family: 2kids, Mom & Dad, and a guy who was eating already, are the customers. We came in no one greeted us, the server came serve the family but never acknowledge our presence.I really wanted to try their food so we waited for like 15minutes...the server made herself a drink then back to the kitchen. I am very very disappointed and annoyed so we walk out . Went to Hong-Fa Thai restaurant, and I will commend Hong-Fa, greeted us and offered a seat and the menu, considering they have quite few people they able to serve us on time.Food is good. No star for Canadian Thai, service sucks, will not go back and will not recommend!!!

I dont normally give a bad review, but the food was so bad I just have to say something! The only part that was good was the appt Maybe if we had not eaten Thai food before and known what it was supposed to taste like! This stuff was just horrible, will not be back! I would like to say a review is ones honest assessment of the food served. I have no axe to grind in giving my opinion! If you check all of my reviews you will see that I am fair and honest. And in this case as I have stated I have eaten lots of Thai food, and found it to be very tasty. The food in this place lacks the quality that you would find in a real Thai restaurant!

Very pleasantly pleased with this place. Havent gotten beyond the pad thai yet because it is so good! The homemade peanut sauce with the sate is SOOOOOO delicious! Everything is fresh and beautiful. The prices a very reasonable. You will be happy you tried this place out if you havent already.

The food is good but I wish you could adjust the heat. The yellow curry which is supposed to be mild is uncomfortably spicy. The medium is basically just as spicy. Probably won t go back too often because of this. The fried rice is good!

First time ordering from Canadian Thai. I ordered the spring rolls, wonton soups and Pad Thai. I used skip the dishes. First off, the chicken pad Thai looked very unappealing and had a strange odour. Taste was NOT what a typical Pad Thai should taste like! This was more like a food court chow mein (at best). It also lacked some spice... Spring rolls were good but the dipping sauce was not. And lastly, the wonton soup? well average at best, yet also lacked any real seasoning. I might give this place another go down the road. After reading some past reviews I get the feeling the owner / operator doesnt think to highly about skipthedishes. Perhaps that negatively affects the outcome of the product he sends out? As for this order - I have to say - pretty dissatisfied overall
