As Grande Prairie’s most exciting place to eat, drink and lounge, The Office brings a dash of modern style and elegance to the downtown dining scene. A broad menu showcasing classic comfort food favourites with a sophisticated twist, The Office includes something for every taste.
Best buffet in town! Actual REAL nutritional food that tastes amazing. You can't even compare it to those nasty "Mama Panda" buffets. Not even on the same level. I've been going back to the office for their buffet for over a year. I also eat a Mediterranean diet and it's supports my restrictions. Great price of $16.99 a person. Cheaper than most single dishes at a restaurant. I'll keep going back. The service is fantastic too.
My husband , son and I had Sunday brunch at the office yesterday. We all said the same thing. Just ok. Although there were quite a few dishes it was more quantity than quality. The salads looked beautiful but the dressing flavor was lacking. The eggs in the eggs Benedict were hard and the muffin was so crisp on the bottom I could barely cut it. My husband had a slice of prime rib. He said it was tasty but cold. I was hoping for more fresh fruit. The cantaloupe and honey dew melon were quite hard and under ripe but the pineapple was delicious. The shrimp and smoked salmon was very good as well. My son had the sushi and it looked amazing but he said it was just ok. Some of the desserts had pink and orange icing which looked cheap so I didn't try. I was hoping for cheesecake but there wasn't any. The desserts we had were fairly good. They were fresh but the carrot cake was nothing special. I guess for $38.00 I was expecting a little better quality and flavor. Lots of selection for lunch food though, just not worth $38.00.
I took my Family again tonight for the Sushi Buffet, the quality and variety of the menu was great, the atmosphere was delightful with great background music, Vanessa the Waitress took care of our table and gave us great service. We are happy again to have chosen The Office Restaurant to go for a nice Family Dinner experience. Highly recommended.
We had a staycation at the Pomroy last weekend and decided to try The Office. Cute little dining area. Once in there, you don't feel like you're in the lobby of a hotel; I can assure you that. Our server was amazing, very polite, knowledgeable, attentive, and generous! I ordered the Peach Belini to drink, absolutely incredible, I have only ever had a slushed version. This particular drink came in a fancy chamoagne flute(I could be using the wrong cup name but it was similar) with a fresh peach slice in it. I could become addicted for those drinks hahaha I ended up having 2. My boyfriend ordered the Malibu Sunrise, he thought it was quite tasty!! For entres I ordered the Pan-seared Chicken, everything on my plate was seasoned and flavored deliciously. I ate everything, a generous portion is also something I don't want to leave out on this review. My boyfriend ordered the Linguine Meatballs, he ate everything as well, with difficulty, pasta is filling but he loved every second of it. For dessert I ordered the Creme Brule, beautiful presentation, plus tasted great. It came in a huge dish from what I was expecting, definitely recommend sharing it !! We have already decided what we want to try next time, very good food, and the service is impeccable. 10/10 recommend.
Stayed at the Pomeroy when I first moved to GP 3 years ago and ordered “The Office” food to the room. At the time shrimp appetizer and it was loaded with sweet chili sauce by the heaviest hand in all the land. It was so sweet it was off putting. Today, 3 years later decide to give it another chance and go with my girlfriend. I order the Calamari and it’s drenched in the same damn sweet chili sauce, and it’s not subtle AGAIN. This stuff is like concentrated diabetes and it’s drenched. The restaurant has what it takes to be great, but some bad decisions going on with the sauces… be much more subtle please! Also ordered wings and there was a dipping sauce of some sort. Very disappointing; it looked like it could have been ranch or blue cheese but didn’t taste like either. Was pretty bad.
Been to lunch & buffet on weekends (Sat and Sunday Brunch). Both had lots of food options and all were great tasting. Service was slow all the times I went - more tables than staff can handle for drinks, refills, seating (except when or first opens), but plate clearing happens on the regular. All staff was friendly and good at what they were tasked at - never seems to bump into anyone, regardless of how busy it was. Was at restaurant pre-covid but have not had to opportunity to go since to see if it is the same (decent prices and good food). Atmosphere is great - busy but not chaotic, decent decor/style - would be good for any event/celebration. Lunch Buffet $16 Mon to Sat (has 3 main dishes - Chicken curry, beef pasta, cheese bacon tortalinni when i went, 3 salads, rice, and dessert table) Sunday Buffet $32 (has twice the options including seafood, dish, beef, chicken mains, and the prime rib and omlette station, and the sushi and breakfast items, salads and dessert table)
This is a nice restaurant. Our server was very pleasant. She was quick witted, and very friendly. She had a nack for showing up the right time to ask how things were. I had a chicken dish that was very good. There was a flavourful sauce on it. The potatoes were pan-fried and nicely seasoned. I think the veggies were baked. They were eldante, which gave them a pleasant texture. The dish was appropriately portioned to leave a little room for dessert. I had a Carmel pudding cake that I would order again.
We have most family birthday dinners, anniversaries, and other important meals at The Office. The food is always superb, service is fabulous. Demetri is friendly, attentive, accommodating, and makes excellent suggestions for beverage pairings. I love that it offers an option for a more upscale dining experience in Grande Prairie.
Dinner, dessert and drinks were all phenomenal had such a great night!!
Our server Rachel was grest
I love this place
The service was great and the quality of food was fantastic, we will come back again for sure.
Always great food and prompt service.
It was wonderful for Mothers Day. The food was excellent. But it would help if you had labeled the sushi. You labeled except sushi. I wasnt sure what was what
Bland food, worse service. As a longtime restaurant manager, I took my last review down cause I felt bad and wanted to give it another chance as I stay at the hotel weekly and wanted to ease my Trepidation with the in house eatery. After a week I went back to wipe the slate clean and try again. At that time I was reminded why I should leave a candid review for other people s benefit. Fool me three, four , fives times, yes, I m the fool. Their bread and butter is their regulars, so your service or repeat clientele means nothing and they don t have to strive to maintain even mediocre quality food or service. Too bad. I love the hotel, but I ll walk across the street to Moxies from now on.
Went for the sushi Saturday. Didn t have the beer on the menu available (Grain Bin) and 1 thing pretty much sums it up, Tempura in a chafing dish. Soggy as heck. The only nigiri available was unagi (sea eel) which I normally enjoy but was rubbery and chewy. The one good thing was the salmon and tuna sashimi. We got there early to avoid dried out rolls but it didn t matter they were obviously made well in advance. I ve heard their brunch is quite good but do yourself a favour and skip sushi Saturday
What a wonderful spot for breakfast - they prepare it exactly to your preference. I have never had anything but a fantastic meal here, and the prices are reasonable.
Sure gone down hill from former menu. The prime rib night was a steal and guess too good to last. Nothing really appeals to me on current meme. Food
We went for fondue night. The fondue menu is very clear about pricing. So we ordered. However the waitress told us that we had to order two fondues or else pay the price of two fondues for a single order. I checked the menu and nowhere did it say this information. Anyways, my friend wanted a cheese fondue and I settled on a broth fondue. The waitress informed us this wouldnt work because it had to be the same type of fondue. Really? The menu had NO information about this anywhere. Ended up getting their Poke Bowl which was pretty good, 4/5, some mango pieces were too hard, tuna was good. Not the waitresss fault but man could they have been more clear about pricing and order rules up front?
Love this place! Great food and even better service. All of the staff went above and beyond, will definitely be coming back to the hotel and this restaurant for any future stays in Grande Prairie
Great service- Rachel was my waitress and honestly she has been the best waitress Ive had in a very long time. And the food was delicious and fresh! Parking: Lots of parking
Always a great experience when dining at The Office. The service is quick and the food is always delicious. I have been eating here regularly for at least 5 years and always leave full and happy!
Fiancé and I went out for date night on a Friday night, early around 4:30/5pm. It was so lovely, hardly anyone in the restaurant and such a beautiful vibe in there. Food was amazing, I ordered the gnocchi in cream sauce.
We had a work dinner with 18 people, Demetri was our server. He was great, funny, and quick to help us with anything we asked for. The food was amazing & so was the service. The chef even came to our table at the end of the evening. This was my first visit to The Offfice but will certainly not be the last.
My friend & I decided to splurge for a nice night out. We were so disappointed. At $54 I didn t think I would get prime rib warmed up. It was chewy & cold everything from prime rib to potatoes & veggies had so much seasoning salt that I couldn t eat it, my friend had the salmon. It also was precooked, reheated & cold as well there was paper in her meal. Way way overpriced to get leftovers.
Absolutely blown away by their Sunday brunch! Buffet style with many food options sure to please even the most picky eater. The mussels in cream sauce were delicious. Even the sushi was very good.
Had a fondue date with my wife. We loved it! The portions are good and the service is prompt, informative, and friendly. Shout out to Rachel for helping make date night great!
Large plate portions arent as large as I expected
Pretty mediocre breakfast buffet. Would not go again. Maybe its better later in the day but not in the morning.
Went to their Easter brunch, paid $32 per person. For that price we received dry, inedible buns, premade crepes with whipped topping ( could have used real whip cream for the price they were charging per person), the bacon (if you could call that bacon) was swimming in its own grease, prime rib was tough, seafood was in almost everything they were serving, desserts were dry and bland ( probably prepared the night before and left out), fruit tray was just cantaloupe, honey dew, and pineapple, looked more like a garnish on the table than an actual dish. Imitation orange juice that tasted watered down. Also was very disappointed they charged us a 18% tip on-top of our bill for waitresses that were just glorified bus boys. Only came by to grab the dishes off the table. The coffee, and other drinks we had to go get, no service other than to show us to the table. Sent them an email first about this just to be ignored, so leaving it as a review instead.
Amazing
Lunch was a buffet. It was great and very delicious. Staff were very friendly.
Went for Mothers Day and it was AWFUL.. I believe the experience could have been explarary, however, I think greed got the better of them. They booked the main dining room, plus the ballroom with groups over 6 people. I was with a party of 6 so we were in the ball room. As soon as I arrived to the main restaurant the hist seemed annoyed and told me my best bet was to try the ballroom and walked away. Once i found the ballroom, without any direction from the unfriendly staff, we were told a seat number and told to go find our table. We were seated for half an hour before I finally asked if we could have a waiter take our drink order. Another 10 minutes and someone finally showed up. Another 15 minutes and we got our drinks... and never saw our waiter again.. I guess $38 per person doesnt cover service. We were nearly done our meal before we got the booster chair we asked for. Plates were frequently empty, food was average buffet quality, though there was a large variety of options which was nice. Asked to pay and again waited 15 minutes. If they are going to take on that many guests they should make sure they are staffed to do so.
I spent a couple nights at the hotel and tried the place out. I ordered French onion soup+ a meal. The soup had to been sitting in a warmer all day, it was thick like gravy and super salty. They are going to give someone a with high blood pressure a heart attack, no joke a warning to the chefs to taste your food. I thought maybe this how they made soup. They proved me wrong during lunch, I tried the buffet out and they made a delicious mulligatawny soup. Honest to god warning taste your food before serving it. You are going to kill someone. Dietary restrictions: Be more careful.
My friend and I love to sample different restaurants in town and have had The Office on our list for a while. Ive eaten here before off the menu, twice and delightful. We were up for the lunch buffet this time, however, and were not disappointed. To begin with, The Office is located inside the hotel so the atmosphere is one of, Were here to serve you, to make you feel warm, cozy and welcome. The presentation of the food from salad in little jars to soup tourines and warming bowls added to this feel of, Youre important. That may be insignificant to the average person but when youve had an exhausting week and simply want to forget everything for the next hour and a half while you enjoy a meal and the company of friends ... atmosphere helps that level of calm relaxation come more quickly. We began with a plate of salad. Myself, a jar of the caprese, a jar of potato salad with slightly cream dilled baby potatoes (a perfect creamy texture and flavour) and a small tossing of Caesar with freshly grated parmesan shavings. All three were extraordinary but I could have quite honestly made a meal out of JUST going back for the Caprese each time! Straight out of Italy! So fresh and delicious! The soup was minestrone, filling in and of itself, basking in the flavours of two beautiful bay leaves amidst all the vegetables. The main course options today were rice, vegetables, chicken and pasta based. Im gluten and dairy intolerant but when I go out to enjoy a special moment like this knowing Ill be able to rest afterwards, Im prepared to endure the sensitivity repurcussions in exchange for the creamy flavour of such things as three cheese tortellini, cheesy cauliflower and broccoli, manicotti, butter chicken and coconut rice with a side of naan bread. Each bite was perfectly done, not over nor undercooked, flavour enhanced without being dominating. I was completely plump with contented happiness and hadnt even touched the dessert yet there it stood, smiling up at me in all its wonder. How could I not? Baileys chocolate cake. Warm bread pudding. Some exquisite custard or flan topped with strawberries and grapes (unsure the dessert name but divine!). More cake selections. Sigh. I may nap for a week when I get home but it was worth it, to be sure!!!! I am a lover of bread pudding, having been raised by depression era grandparents. I can honestly say Ive never had bread pudding before as succulent as this perfection! The best part for most of you reading this, perhaps, is the price. $14.99 McDonalds would cost most of you more than this!!! They are having a Fathers Day Brunch tomorrow from 10-2 with a bit more expense as it will have a vastly larger selection, centering around Prime Rib, among other breakfast and lunch options. As such, tomorrows brunch (Sunday, June 18, 2023) will be $32/plate for adults, I believe. $26 or thereabouts for seniors. $18 perhaps it was for children. I cant quite recall but for the option of a splendid variety to suit everyone, no one having to cook nor clean up and the freedom to choose what youd like, much worth it, Im sure. But thats tomorrow. Todays lunch buffet and each one like it on their regular buffet days, only $14.99. Incredible! My friend kindly bought for us. I adore her generosity and her kindred appreciation of food. Jonamie was our server, kind, considerate, efficient and truly seemed to enjoy her position. Christina was the manager, equally respondent to guests needs and comfort levels. Go! Enjoy yourselves! Then come back here and tell us about it
Had the lunch buffet, was $16, it was very very good. They had some breaded pork chops with an excellent sauce, and butter chicken which was very good I ate it twice, and a beef/mushroom sauce, and when they ran out of that they had our ribs. It was all really good, the other food was all good too. Really enjoyed the butter chicken. Had a creme brule for dessert, it was first time Ive had that I loved it. There were two young guys as servers, I thought they did a great job, kept our waters filled up and were very courteous and friendly. Ive eaten there in the past so I had sort of high expectations because it has always been top notch, and today was great. Dietary restrictions: They had a vegetarian soup and a couple salad types for vegetarians. Excellent potatoes. Wheelchair accessibility: I saw a person come in a wheel chair today and the staff were accommodating and moving chairs so they could get a straight shot from the entrance to their table.
Went with the wife to the lunch buffet and it was fantastic! All of the food was very well done and the price is right. The buffet starts at 11:30 AM and is only $15.99 pretax. Cant even get McDonalds for that price anymore!
Had to wait for a table. No problem whatsoever. Very comfortable waiting area. Very quickly got a table. Staff was incredible. Highly enjoyed this experience. I dont drink coffee or stuff like that. I enjoy water. They were very accommodating. Food was good. It was a Sunday brunch buffet, miracles are not to be expected. Ever since the panini theres not many places in GP that have a brunch buffet, my favorite meal. Really glad I found this place. Looking forward to coming back. With everything going on in the economy i felt $32 was more than acceptable for an option like that. Fulfilled all my expectations, hence the 5 stars.
Finally found a place in Grande Prairie worth going out if the way for. THE OFFICE. Located in the Pomeroy. Bang for your buck this is the place, food is phenomenal the chefs and servers take great pride in their work. Everything from the salads to desserts was 5 star on the lunch Buffet they even had homemade bread pudding better then Mums, havent had it in years it was so good.Demetri the waiter was awesome, walked me along the Buffet explained what was on there and had water on the table before I was seated and kept it filled and the tables cleaned promptly ya dont get that service just anyplace. Very clean and warming atmosphere and a staff that takes pride In their work and food and it shows. One of the best places in town for comfort food it was delicious, Thanks Demetri for the great service keep up the good work, The Office lunch Buffet you wont be disappointed. Very reasonably priced and clean with great service Matt Brophy
This place my husband favorite
Just had lunch there and the food is absolutely delicious. Congratulations to the kitchen!!! Very well presented dishes, the cute little salads (beet salad great), a very tasty, smooth and silky cream. The main dishes with delightful taste and looks fresh! Desserts.. to die for.!!! The bread pudding and cream brulee, OMG!! We were welcomed and had a little 2 people booth, all good until then. Server never ask, not even once if we were ordering any drinks, never stop by and ask if we were ok. Taking dirty dishes took long as well. The restaurant manager was there all the time and never stop by. I can recognize when another Mexican speaker is around, so as the restaurant manager( who is Mexican) she overheard us talking Spanish and didnt make us feel warmed welcome.. at least as I expected. I have work in hotel/ food and beverages industry for over 15 years and the service here is not the greatest. Hope you can improve on service because Ill definently come back just for the food.
We had the pleasure of attending a brunch buffet while visiting from Calgary. The host Dimitri was awesome, friendly and great with kids. The food was really good! Also a nice spread of tasty deserts. Would definitely recommend. There was also a satisfying selection of vegetarian options. Vegetarian options: Nice couscous and pasta salad. Tasty Basa, coconut jasmine rice, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, soup, kale bean salad Parking: Located beside grande prairie mall. Lots of free mall parking
Lunch buffet is amazing! Customer service is above reproach!!
We thought we would try the fondue on Friday to see what it was like. Well, we were very disappointed. The meat came out already cooked so basically you were warming up your food in a broth. I asked why it was this way and they told me the fuel burner underneath was not hot enough to cook your food. There were no dips for the meats after being cooked and they served bread to cook which I thought was odd as it turned out to be like a soggy crouton. I hope they change it and make it so you can actually cook your dinner like your supposed to do with a meat fondue.
We saw the ad for the Swiss cheese fondu and were so excited that something like this was being served in Grande Prairie. My husband s dad was Swiss and he we grew up eating traditional Swiss cheese fondu at home. When our cheese fondu was served we were very confused because it did not taste like Swiss cheese and it had chunks of onion in it. It tasted more like a cheesy pasta sauce than a cheese fondu. We asked the server if we were given the correct one and she said yes, but said she would get us a new one. She also said it s just from a mix. The second one tasted the same. Knowing that it s just from a packaged mix was super disappointing. If you re expecting traditional Swiss cheese fondu it s probably best not to order this, and try one of the other dishes on the menu. The sushi they serve under the starter section of the menu is delicious and was definitely the highlight of our meal.
Friday December 1, 11 am. Service was impeccable. Server there manage the customers and buffet so well and was very nice, good mood and was happy to serve us. Employee of the month to us! Food was amazing and a great atmosphere. No complaints at all i will be going back soon.
I was a guest at the Pomeroy hotel and decided to try The Office for dinner. It opens at 4pm and i was there at 4:10pm. I waited awhile to be seated and then a man by the name Demetri came to the front. I asked for a booth he hesitated to seat me at all and he informed me if i was alone for dinner (which i wasnt) it gets busy its prime rib night. I was shocked pointed to a booth and said ill sit there. As iwalked around him i could hear him talking under his breath he was annoyed . SO WAS I. Of this restaurant wants to claim 5 stars, then hire 5 star staff that treat everyone the same ! I told Demetri to change his attitude and left grrrr
Great food, slowest service ever!
Sunday brunch was amazing! We also enjoy the 2 for 1 prime rib on Thursdays.
Great prime rib special on Thursday. Huge portions. They have a Sunday brunch I loved it for the omlette station and prime rib but there is much more. Recently seen theyre doing fondue and create your own pasta. Not many places in town offering such variety of special night offerings. The restaurant is fancy enough to take a date or business meeting and would be great for a hotel restaurant if staying in town.
