Went in to celebrate a special occasion. Server was very chatty, which was okay at first but got annoying after a while. Also did not appreciate her bra showing and the way she was talking to my man. The food was very disappointing for the price and made both of us ill after. After we paid the server went from nice to bitchy and rude because of her tip on the machine, I was going to leave a cash tip but after the attitude I held off. Not appropriate behaviour for a server that has 10 plus years of experience.

Had mine and my sons birthday dinner tonight and we had WONDERFUL service from Kate! 7 of 7 of us enjoyed thier meals and drinks. 4 stakes came out as we ordered and Kate was very patient with all our questions :) I always love the atmosphere here as well.

Terrance was our server, he is in my opinion the best server at Saw Mill, he was welcoming, he made great suggestions, very informative, he not only build a conversation when it was time to pay like I noticed with lots of servers, my wife and I will definitely visit again, we were very happy and satisfied.

Had a meal that cost over $100 and went home and got violently ill. I ve never gotten sick from a restaurant and it being a nice restaurant is even worse, will not be going again

Ordered a turkey dinner take out and the mashed potatoes weren t there. The turkey was mostly dark meat and very rubbery. Didn t finish.

I am a truck driver that means I am alone all day every day.. when I stop at the sawmill Karim ND the girls makes me feel like a king and honestly I feel like I belong really appreciate everyone working there Parking: Parkings is great only thing is ppl take for granted the free parking and park there for the shopping spree ... looks are always deceiving.. on days that the parking lots full often then lodge and restaurant is empty highly recommend going in to make sure.. that usually when I get the best service Wheelchair accessibility: All on one floor .. and the doors are wheelchair certified

The waitress was very attentive and polite. Was eager to share the specials with us and some guidance on the menu. Overall the experience was good but the portions on the appetizers could of been a bit bigger for the price. All in all a nice place amd great staff

The salmon on rice was excellent. I just wish it came with more veggies. It comes with artichoke hearts, which were delish, bit I like bowls with lots of veggies.

Although there was only one other occupied table in the entire lounge, it still took over an hour for food as they were doing up Skip the dishes orders first. Food came. I had order risotto and chicken, $24 meal and it was just terrible. The risotto was just regular rice & peas. This was NOT risotto. The chicken was room temperature and dried out, it had been precooked. It was not made it order. My husband had soggy fish. The appie (bacon & fig jam) $18 came with warmed up boxed crackers. How is this price justified? It s criminal. Our meal was $100 total before tip with two drinks, 1 appie and two entrees. When you re paying a fortune for food, you expect the quality to match the price. We will never be back.

Had the lamb and it was melt in your mouth. Celebrated an achievement for my wife and the staff went above and beyond to congratulate her on the accomplishment. Family friendly atmosphere and my son had activities to do. Will definetly return.

Terrance was absolutely amazing! Great personality, amazing walk through of the menu, and the recommendation for the dome desert was perfection. Food was amazing. However I would come in just to see Terrance !!!!

In case you were like me and didnt realize, they now have weekly Sunday brunch buffet. And it is fantastic. After most places in GP ended their brunches after the panini, its nice to see some coming back again. Staff was lovely, food was delicious, highly recommend.

Mothers Day Brunch was awful. Food was not hot. Eggs Beny all had hard yolk. Ribs were tough. And then they charg $40 per person and coffee NOT included. Big rip off

Pretty long wait when we arrived as there wasnt anyone greeting guests. Our server (Breeze) was friendly and professionally. They were great. My steak was cooked properly (Medium Rare Ribeye) but quite tough, might have just been a bad cut with poor marbling.

Absolutely horrible service. Called to ask on a Friday night if it was busy and they said it was empty, perfect, no wait. I walked in and waited for about 2 minutes to finally hear 2 people who are talking away in the back say oh there are people out front the hostess comes out and walks me to the dining room which has 1 table of 8-10 people, and that is all. She tells me to take a seat and a server will be over in a few minutes. 15 minutes later no one came over or even walked by, I stood up and walked out with no staff to be seen. Not sure how this place is still in business

We showed up with less than an hour to close. Ribeye steak with caesar and cooked veg. Veg just a bit of crisp still. Not mushy. Place was emptied out by then but the meal was great and so was the service. We were the last ones out and not rushed. I liked it.

My immediate family, including my granddaughter went to this restaurant in Grand Prairie and bar none hands down the best dinner that I have gone out for in my life. The staff was phenomenal. The food was excellent. We will definitely be going back. Kid-friendliness: The waitresses actually took my granddaughter into the kitchen to meet the chef, the bartender and the manager of the restaurant. They spent time with my granddaughter and walked her around the whole restaurant and showed her all the interesting items on display. Absolutely stellar. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor. No stairs. Lots of room.

UPDATE... while the quality of some restaurants goes down this place keeps getting better. No other steak in town really compares. I dont know what magic they use in the kitchen to make those steaks and prime rib but BRAVO. Never disappoints end UPDATE. (2 YEARS AGO) Definitely a better option than the keg. The service and food quality are out of this world. Going with a couple friends? Have a tomahawk! Feeds 3 average people and is the best steak ever. Takes about 1 hour to cook.

Love this place for Sunday brunch. Great price per plate and great food. Always a prime rib roast or ham available, healthy options, and delicious taste. Cute fruit art on display and chocolate fountain + desert table. So many different options buffet style. 10/10 everytime we come.

We made reservations to celebrate Saritas 12 birthday and arrive 10 minutes early, but they were ready for us , our server Kate was amazing making Sarita feel special and made couple recommendations which were spot on everyone was full and happy our drinks kept coming and she made sure to engage with everyone at the table. Tonight the experience was 100 percent. Thank you Kate and the whole stuff at sawmill.

Kate, Felicia, the bartender, and the general manager were all so welcoming and kind. They took time between their tables to interact with my niece and even brought her to meet the chef when the restaurant was slow enough. Its an interaction she ll never forget and the best dining experience I ve ever had.

We enjoyed a family dinner here tonight I would recommend this restaurant to any family. Our waitress Kate was such a sweetheart she fell in love with our 3 year old daughter and treated her like a queen. The bartender Kerim made her a special drink and another waitress (Felica) took her for a walk around the restaurant a couple of times so the parents could relax. Kate got her a beautiful ice cream treat then brought our daughter back to meet the chef and got her free M&Ms it was all and all an amazing experience! The food was absolutely amazing and Kate gave dad a special bottle of the sawmill steak sauce for free! We will be coming back as soon as we can ! Thank you Sawmill !

Food is very mediocre for the price. Hit and miss service, been here twice and probably not going to return. Came here once for business and another time for a birthday. No effort to make the birthday dinner special and the food was not good unfortunately during that instance. Got the charcuterie board for an appetizer and it did not look anything like the pictures online. Maybe just take it off the menu.

For the money i payed on a new years eve, youd think wed get Lobster that wasnt dry and a steak which tasted like liquid smoke and a salad that had limp (previously frozen) lettuce! Then we overheard who id guess to be one of the managers talking to a employee and rather loudly stateing how another employee is useless. Right in front of customers. Very bad taste. the drinks were fine. Theyre drinks. Im going to the keg next time. They always get a great review. This place....geeeeze.

Food is always excellent, ambiance is nice - not too loud and a reasonable distance between tables. Our waiter was Terrence and he is top shelf! I believe hes been there since the restaurant opened, so he knows the full menu and all options, by heart. He is friendly, fun and very professional. Hats off to the Sawmill, as the food, wait staff and full experience is always excellent! Vegetarian options: There were 4 in our party. One person was gluten free. There were several quality meal options available. The same applies foe other dietary needs. Parking: Lots of space to park in all directions of the Sawmill. Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms and entrance are wheelchair accessible.

Wine choice was very limited; basically coulsnt supply a bottle on hand that we wanted after 4 or 5 different choices. Vegetables were over cooked. Twice. Took about 40 mins for appies and very expensive for what 2 people received. Wont be returning; stick to the keg for steak I guess.

My wife and I would come here consistently and the food and service has drastically gone down in the past year. No flavour and terrible cuts of meat. This was our last visit to them.

There was only 1 server and se was amazing and attentive. She really made sure we were taken care of. The food though. Start of the show. Was perfect temp and seasoned just right and was the juiciest prime rib Ive ever had.

The food at Sawmill is far a beyond the quality and taste of the Keg. We have been to the Keg a few times in the past few months hoping it would get better but has never compared to freshness and quality of Sawmill. Staff on the pub side is ALWAYS fantastic and appreciate how the management always comes and checks in with us to make sure everything is to our liking.

Went for Valentines had the upsized ribeye. It was cooked ok but had no taste. Ordered shrimp and their mushrooms with it. Shrimp was dry over cooked and the mushrooms were buried in juice with no onions for the caramelization. Three of us spent over $300.00 and no one had a super meal. I ve eaten here beforehand and it s been great but this time not so much. Be awhile before I go back. Alberta beef tastes much better if it s cooked right

Have been for lunch a number of times, and is usually good. But the few times Ive been there for dinner - not impressed. The last time I was there a few days ago, they dont know how to cook a steak - asked for medium rare, came out medium-well, sent back, then a new steak came out between blue and rare, sent back, then it came back rare so I ended up just eating it as the rest of the table was nearly done dinner already. Then for dinner, got the creme brulee, the bottom part was good - nice and creamy the custard - but the top part had curdled and was very eggy. something weird happened there. they ended up just taking these two items off the big bill. but still, the steak was the most disappointing, its a steak house. Edit: cannot leave a second review so editing review for 2023. Went here with my wife for valentines day. They had a special menu which of course is 3 course and they significantly raise the price. Okay. Well need to find out info about dietary restrictions but no one was able to answer questions relating to this, the server said every time she went back to ask the chef a question for us she would get yelled at by him (seriously?), so we asked for a manger and she came back saying she couldnt find one, no one was around. So we left. Thanks for ruining valentines day for us. We will never set foot in here again.

made a reservation for 10 people 5 days before my birthday and when we got there they said they had no reservation for under my name, and when they sat us, they sat us at separate tables, so we had the tables changed, and then our server forgot drinks, and completely messed up our bills and barely checked on us. worst birthday dinner ever.

We went for dinner here on Saturday March 25th before we were supposed to go to the GPLT for a show. The rib eye steak was charred on one side, cooked less so on the other, and when you cut into it it was obvious it was cooked unevenly. For my own, I ordered the hot wings and unfortunately less than an hour later I discovered I had food poisoning. We missed out on the show at the GPLT and I was sick until Sunday evening. The waitress was amazing, she always does a great job but I am sad to say that we will not be returning due to the food quality issues.

Our favourite place to come, sit back, relax have a few adult beverages and of course a 5 star meal. But what makes the experience 5 star is the exceptional staff- in particular both Rosie and Shalom. These ladies have such dynamic personalities with never ending smiles and converse with you like you have known each other for years. Makes for a very enjoyable evening where all your stresses are left at the door. Truly exceptional people and it is people like this that make you want to keep coming back. Wayne and Joel thanks for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and by hiring such outstanding personnel. The food of course is world class. Grande Prairie badly needed an establishment like this. Private function and there was great service

Unfortunately, we wont be going back again. The Frech onion soup was extremely salty! Then I had Chicken Cordon Blue, the chicken tasted like the meat was spoiled, it was so bad I couldnt eat it! Then there was something white in the vegie part of the plate, I dont know what it was, but it was tasteless, like they grated a wet paper towel and put it on the plate. The cook said it was a radish. Radishes have taste, this was tastless!!! Why would you serve something tasteless, food should be tasty, not tasteless!!!! If Im paying big bucks, I EXPECT GREAT FOOD. After that they gave us a cold sholder. What a anniversary dinner, sll spoiled!!!

Update to the old review still the best restaurant in town if youre looking for the biggest and the best steak best service best atmosphere come to The Sawmill. I ordered a 42 Oz off the menu tomahawk medium rare it was delicious to the last bite, my wife and I decided to celebrate our 17th anniversary we were not disappointed all of the staff signed our card said congratulations the service was quick I had to phone an hour ahead of time to let them prep the meat my wife ordered chicken Neptune it was delicious as well. My my steak Was Juicy tender and flavorful cooked to perfection a hard feat for a slice of meat that thick. We were greeted by the manager by mid meal to make sure everything was going accordingly thank you everyone at The Sawmill for providing my wife and I a relaxing engaging dinner with just the right atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back here AAA beef coming from local farmers couldnt ask for better one happy five star rating customer.

Great place to celebrate a birthday!

Had a fabulous lunch there yesterday. The steak sandwich was great, as were the steak bites and charcuterie. Our server was lovely, very friendly and helpful.

First, I called to see if they were open and if they had pina colada, in which the lady said yes. It was to buy my brother a nice meal for his birthday. We arrived and when we decided we ordered. I received my gin and tonic, and we got steak bites for a little appetizer. The steak bites were all grisle, flavorless, and we couldnt eat more than 3 total. My gin tasted as if there was no gin at all, only tonic. In which I believe there was none as it did nothing to me, and Im very low body weight. Lastly, the whole reason we chose this place is they were meant to be higher quality and have pina colada. The waitress came to us stating they dont have any at all and will not be making any. At this point, we decided to leave before I waste even more money at this place. I got the check and left. After we went to Mr. mikes, a cheaper place but with actual good food, and pina colada that was really good. To compare, we ordered the serlion bites, and they were perfect even accommodating a gluten allergy. I would never step foot in the Sawmill again.

Excellent place, but the price of the food didnt really correspond to the quality of the food. 4 of us (2 adults 2 kids) came out to just over $320. The steak was a steak, the veggies were veggies, the lobster was overcooked. Nothing special really. The waitress was awesome though, great people skills.

Better than average food, great servers everytime I go but you pay for it. I usually get the Prime rib when I go here. They cook it the way I ask for it. I like the horse radish and the Yorkshire pudding is delicious. I should stop ordering the 13oz steak though to much food to handle. They have a very tasty chocolate desert, Ill attempt to add the video.

We did dine on the lounge/bar side which was a bit more quiet than expected but it was great! 100% recommend the steak bites as well! We will be back:)

After a few years of not going to the Sawmill due to okay food, we decided to give it another shot. We stood at the front waiting to be seated for several minutes with no sign of a staff member anywhere. Eventually, we decided to leave and go to the Keg where we were greeted immediately and had a great meal.

It was very, very good ... expensive, but worth it for an anniversary dinner.

Went in the other night table for 2, was excited and craving some prime rib. Wasn t too busy but the service was slow. I ordered the 16 oz prime rib. The prime rib wasn t good. The crust was too charred and had a bitter burnt taste to it and the seasoning was off. I mentioned this to the server and she replied how they bake their prime rib and don t char grill it which did not make much sense to my concern. Also the vegetables on the side, I wasn t a fan of so I asked the server if I could have something else instead. Server helped me out and said she could bring out a side of mash potatoes instead. After waiting patiently for about 10 minutes, the server came back empty handed only to tell me they can t do mash potatoes as a replacement because it isn t free. This frustrated me and it felt disrespectful as I never asked for them to be free and would have no issue paying for the them. I simply wanted a side of mash instead of the veggies. Being frustrated, I called to speak to the manager. I was polite and then spoke to voice my concerns. Manager was helpful in understanding my concerns on not being treated properly and apologized for the server. When i mentioned not enjoying the prime rib, the manager told me that s just how it is. Manager did thank me for my kindness and being open about the concerns. Not wanting anything else but to leave, I just asked for the bill. Manager ended up giving the mash potato no charge and a small discount on the meal. However, expecting better and due the poor service & food quality I don t recommend this sawmill and would not want to come here again.

The food was good for the appetizers we had (I would definitely recommend the steak bites). Service overall was pretty good, the atmosphere was relaxed and it wasnt too busy.

Best place to eat in grande prairie

Service was terrible for a small group of 12 on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was quiet yet it took 23 minutes to get our water to the table. Wings came out less than warm. Dont recommend. Skip here and go to Freds.

Pub side lounge was nice. Food and cocktails were delicious.

I took my friend out for his Birthday and it was an amazing experience! Our server, Kate, was fantastic! The meal was amazing, and portions huge! We each ordered the 12 oz Prime Rib and it looked like double that. We joked that maybe we got the wrong order, but it was the correct order. After dinner, the server brought a birthday card out to my friend that was signed by all the staff and each staff member wrote a nice note to him, even though they didn t know him. That really made his Birthday dinner special. Thank you Sawmill staff and to our server Kate for making my friend s birthday so special!!

Pretty bad experience. Food was overcooked and salty, and the temperature of the food ranged from lukewarm to warm. Server was nice and the fig goat cheese dip appetizer was decent.

Professional service all the way! Food was delicious. Had the 7oz sirloin center cut with the 5 1/2 oz lobster tail. My wife had a steak with seafood Oscar. The Oscar was tasty however needs a little improvement in terms of the amount of seafood in relation to the sauce. A few more pieces would have made a huge difference. The prices are on the higher side however to be expected in terms of type, style and location of restaurant. Overall I do recommend giving it a try. My wife and I enjoy our dining experience and will return. Remember to tip generously as the service was top notch.

We got there at 5:50 pm and while we waited to get served we noticed some more people come, 30 mins still no one has served us and people who came in later then us where getting there dinners. So after 45 mins of waiting we got up and left. The servers walked by us lots and when we first got in there it wasnt busy at all and it wasnt that busy when we got up to leave ether.

Went for supper. I had the Fish and Chips and my wife had the Fish Tacos. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly too. Thanks Sawmill!

The food was very good, cooked to exactly how I like it. Yet given the size of the plates, and the extreme prices, I would suggest they either make the plates smaller, actually fill them with food or adjust the prices to reflect the very small amount of food one gets.

Very disappointing. This used to be a good restaurant, not a 5 star but good. Not likely to go back unfortunately.

Prime rib was spot on. As well as everything else. Prices are very competitive. And cheaper than most Parking: Not the best parking options when its busy. But lots available Kid-friendliness: Never had any issues taking the whole family to the sawmill. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level no need for ramps or robo legs

A very good dining experience, you cant go wrong with the Roast Beef. It comes with an absolutely massive Yorkshire pudding. Definitely worth coming in for dinner. A little more pricey, but the food is good.

Was good, had steak and crab legs, crabs legs were 96$ a plate, wish I asked the price before ordering. Calamari was very good and steak was great medium rare.

While the food is really delicious, prices seem inflated on some items. I dont know if they were short staffed, but the service, at least initially, was awful. We waited nearly fifteen minutes to get our drinks, and then they didnt have the beer we ordered anyway. Dinner as I said was good, but it will be a long time before I go back, if ever, simply because of the prices. The Kegs service is impeccable and Id much rather go there.

We were in GP this weekend and wanted a dining experience. We were very impressed with The Sawmill and thier food. My wife s prime rib was cooked perfect to her liking the Yorkshire and veggies were absolutely spot on. My rack of lamb was again cooked to my order, everything was delicious. The dessert a chocolate dome was impressive and so delicious. GP has a golden restaurant and it s The Sawmill. Even the wait staff, everyone of them were spot on. Definitely recommend and we will go back.

We sat for some shared appetizers. Steak bites. Bacon wrapped scallops. Spinach dip. All were delicious and served quickly. Would recommend a visit.

Came for a business meeting. It was a very quiet and pleasant environment. The staff was very kind and we had excellent service. Food was delicious. Thanks guys

Fabulous meal, great atmosphere! We had the bacon wrapped scallops to share, and I had the black and blue ceasar salad. Perfectly cooked. Only thing that I wasnt too happy with was the lettuce was uncut. It looked like it had just had the outer layers removed, washed and then placed directly on the plate. I didnt need to be the one cutting up my entire salad. I just want to use my steak knife to cut the steak!

If you want a proper beef dinner I feel the Sawmill is a great choice. Greeted and seated immediately, drink service soon after. Calamari came quick as our appetizer. Got the 12oz prime rib, medium rare. Not fatty at all and perfectly cooked and tender. Beef sauce and horseradish was superb. The steamed greens were perfect. It was a lot of food for a decent price. When I compare sawmill prime rib to keg prime rib, sawmill wins every time. Comically large Yorkshire pudding is a nice touch. Service was spot on.

This place has potential Nice atmosphere Good service Prices are expensive but for good food i dont mind Sadly very mixed on the food French onion soup was poor and i told them so No cheese and way to much bread Prime rib was cut super think like a hunk by an inexperienced chef and overcooked by 2 degrees of doness Twice baked has just bad keg has an excellent one this one i only ate a few bites Now the yorkshire pudding was exceptional both in portion and taste But the chocolate bomb dessert was a show stopper fantastic if you love chocolate dont skip this desert!

Its been a while since Id been back to Sawmill due to COVID. Its nice they have the 2 different menus as well!!! I do miss the buffets, they were sooo good!!!
