This place never disappoints. The chefs are the owners and it shows in the quality and consistency of the food.

Terrible service called at 8:20 refuse to answer I called 3 times food is good but sometimes they don t answer in the last hour and they say opened until 9 p.m and they don t take calls after 8 that s false advertising if you are a restaurant operating you should be available until the time you say you re open until that s just being lazy

This is by far the best tasting and most affordable place to get sushi, it real, has great flavor and the service is always speedy. Even if you dont like seafood they have items for you. I will always come here for sushi and great food, would recommend.

Got to the door at 819 to the signs being turned off when your hours say youre open till 9. Girl at the front desk said you were closing.... 40 minutes early. Thats a shame

I read reviews and only see a description of the menu or service... but no one writes why they are so dirty!!!!!! plates, saucers, everything is sticky and covered with fingers... unsanitary

Most people in the middle of the prairies wont understand what a gem they have. This restaurant is owner operated - and they care about their customers. Prairie uses a sub-zero freezer and gets fresh fish from the boats. Ive gone to restaurants in BC, HK, California, San Diego, Los Angeles and the freshness of the fish at Prairie easily compares to some of the best.

This is our go to place for sushi! Amazing sushi! Sweet & sour roll, and dragon is our favorite. The staff is always friendly, the know us by name and know our order! Kid-friendliness: Our kids love coming here as well. When we ask them where they want to go for diner, quite often its Prairie sushi!

One of the best seafood miso soups ever , it s so hard to find a normal portion of miso especially with seafood , not the tiny bowl thing which is everywhere. Totally enjoyed my shrimp tempura and the sushi roll , huge portions and very friendly people work in here.

Good place, I believe, for takeout !! Our food was good and tasty. Service was so..so. Not organized, everyone is running around us, most of them look like has no clue. Mostly customers waiting at door for takeout. Parking: Very tight parking spot. Specially in winter when its very tight and covered with snow. Very slippery to get out from your car up to the restaurant door.

This is the go to for sushi in Grande Prairie!! There food is amazingly flavorful. Best War Won Ton in town!!!

Ordered around $100 worth of sushi and the taste was less than subpar. Ate here before and it never tasted like this. Lacking flavour or just wasn t edible at all. Threw most of it out very disappointed having spent that amount. I do not recommend eating here. Soto sushi is a lot better.

Wonderful experiences and wonderful people

By far the best place in town for sushi. The staff here are amazing. I was youtubing how to use chopsticks when a server came over and gave me a beautiful pair and taught me how to use them. After a fantastic meal I asked if I could keep them and they handed me an even nicer set to take home for practice. Just an overall wonderful place to eat. Great food. Welcoming atmosphere. The sake is incredible. Definitely well be back.

The service is decent but I would not put it in the top tier. Our server seemed more interested in what was going on with her phone than actually paying attention to her patrons, she may have had something going on that day, but its still not a great look. The food is ok, I liked my sushi but the tempura we ordered was super greasy, almost no crispiness to any bite. The establishment is getting a little dated and unkempt, time for a good deep clean, or renovation.

Sushi was great and service quick Menu has many sushi, rolls, appies, ruce and noodle dishes Restaurant still has a smell to it, like a minor gas leak. They have tried to fix I believe, but unsuccessful so far. Food : 5/5

We always order sushi here but today was our first time sitting in. Our server was extremely rude, rarely came to our table and we sat for a half an hour without forks or chopsticks or anything. She acted irritated that we asked a second time. The service was honestly terrible.

I have been dining at Prairie Sushi for about 7 years now and it s about time I wrote a review. They are my absolute favourite sushi place in the city and the service is always excellent and quick both dining in and picking up. 5/5.

I read the reviews before coming. The recent reviews were pretty decent so I thought I d give it a try. When I arrived and previewed the menu, I really wanted to leave. This place serves everything from the Japanese to Chinese to even Vietnamese pho cuisine. I ve never been to a place that was good at all three cuisines. I was hoping that they specialize in sushi since it s in the name. As I was craving sushi to begin with I stuck to the Japanese portion of the menu. The sashimi and sushi and sushi rolls that I ordered arrived. The sushi (2 pieces of Saba - mackerel) were excellent and the salmon hand cone was also delicious. The sashimi plate however was not so good. It was water logged, like eating a sponge. When biting the octopus, squishy noises would occur as the water logged octopus gave up all the moisture for my taste buds. My assorted tempura didn t arrive until I asked about it and he said it was just finished. Yeah I don t think so as it was luke warm and super greasy. I think they forgot my order and just took some of the takeout that was finished and gave it to me. Very disappointing, maybe I should have had a fried rice instead. Anyways, not my cup of tea. I won t be back. 3 stars given due to the good saba and hand cone to balance the rest of the meal.

The older gentleman who waited on us was very rude. He told us to go to McDonalds were they serve breakfast and lunch all day long. I just wanted a lighter dinner when I asked for something on the lunch menu. No sorry would have sufficed The price was not the issue. Then he ignored us preferring sit at front desk. We left.

We were a group (~30 ppl) that was asked to preorder about a week in advance so they could have everything. I would not go here as a group again. First, we ended up being told that they did not have the lemon ice cream that was on their menu. So...what was the point of preordering a week in advance to have everything only to not have everything. Some people got their food in 15 mins, others it took an hour just to get the food. One person actually got someone elses order because they had told him it was chicken Yakosoba (which was what he had ordered) only it was not the chicken Yakosoba. I had the chicken Teryiaki but it was the worst, it had no flavor and the chicken was overcooked and dry. Someone else got something with chicken in it that was so overcooked it was inedible. If a restaurant cant handle large groups, they should not let large groups book.

This is the best sushi in grande prairie! They have the most friendly staff and the best portions for the price! Highly recommend

Good food

Just ate here for the first time early this month and loved it so much we went back again last week. Fiance got a boat both times and finished it all, loved the sushi, and they allowed him to make modifications to his boat. I enjoyed the kapa rolls (not a fan of fish), beef and broccoli, and sweet and sour pork. Their stir fries were seriously the best I ve ever had, and I ve eaten at pretty much all the Chinese joints in town. I love this place and their food so much I just want to go back again and again!

I was mildly amazed at the size of the menu. I have never been to a sushi restaurant before with that many amazing options. I went for Unagi because thats generally my favourite. But I tried a few options off of my partner that came with mes plate as well. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The rice was perfect. The green tea was delicious. The price point was good. And the food was delicious. And as long as you dont order just a hand rolled cone the meal size is also fantastic. please try this place out. I was impressed and delighted.

I Eat there about once a week. They just have it figured out there. The portions are fair and the quality is great. Well established Sushi spot.

Not bad fried rice, but my go to is always the eels (unagi). Yummo I have never dined in TBH, always only take out or deliver to our hotel whenever we are in GP.

One of my absolute favourite places to go in GP. My best friend and I used to meet here at least once a week, and it didnt take long for them to bring out a starter once one of us walked in. Delicious food, good service, very chill atmosphere, would recommend

all was good. got our orders done. when the server got our food. i got the special combo with california rolls. so the server gave me.xtra order of california roll. so i said i did not order california roll. so he said i did not write it down if you did not order it. i was gonna say to him i got california roll.already why wiuld i still order extra cali roll. instead of agueing i just take it. second thing i ordered 5 piece of rainbow dynamite roll. he gave us 10 piece so i was like nvm. i just take it. not trying to be mean but thats a bad service...very disappointed. although. food is good though. just the bad service.

Best Sushi in Grande Prairie Bar Non. Best Service and so friendly. I tried other Establishments but kept coming back to Prairie Sushi. Pricing is realistic, food portions are huge and very clean restaurant.

Sushi was just ok. Did not care for the tuna

My partner took me here for trying sushi for the first time. Was disappointed with the place, we had food on the floor beside our table waiting to be cleaned. We found an ant in one of our sushis and the other herbs started to look like bugs too from which we lost our appetite. We will go to another place next time.

I ve been eating here for years! Always amazing food and great service! Until tonight. Called over a half an hour before they close no answer, kept calling and calling still no answer. Drove all the way there for the open sign to still be on, when I got in there I let them know that I had been calling for the past almost 30 minutes to place an order. For the girl to give me sass and say that the kitchen was closed a half an hour ago Really not happy with this experience, and this new girl employee who they have hired every single time we speak on the phone with her, or deal with her in person she is not very kind . I hope I have a better experience next time I go.

The gal in the next booth kept making a big deal about having come there for 16 years while trying to order off menu. Eff, right off. The food is great for what you pay. The washroom needs cleaning, so you know the food is tasty.

Great sushi, well prepared (and nicely seasoned rice). Other places I ve tried in GP don t really know how to properly season their rice for whatever reason.. but this place gets it right. Love it, and will be back!

Prairie Sushi has excellent food. We enjoyed the wonton soup a lot. Their nigiri and sashimi were quite fresh with generous portion sizes. The staff was pleasant. The only problem is the look of the restaurant needs an update, as well as better upkeep on garbage and cigarette butts outside. Definitely will be returning over and over because its great food.

I do love prairie sushi and I go there all the time! But these past couple times I ve went have not been the best and I went there yesterday and got food and all of my sushi tastes like wasabi. Every single piece and I m extremely disappointed about it as I really do not like wasabi at all.

We either go alone, or we bring our 4 children and the staff are always accomadating..prices are fair, quality is great!
