SOTO Teppanyaki and Fusion Sushi in Grande Prairie

It was a lovely experience, great staff, humorous entertainment and delicious food.

Best sushi in GP, and their teppanyaki is delicious and fun!

Our go-to place where we know we are going to get good fresh food and not walk away hungry.

Very good sushi, great selection. I personally eat at least 2 rolls so its a bit in the expensive side but it was really good

Didnt try the food cause the website says free deliver after 200 but they dont even deliver... huge mark up on skip to so not worth ordering.

Food great. Service was poor. Was disappointed Mt drink came fast then nothing , got miso , then meal ate meal no drink. Asked for bill n box. Got box then was asked if I wanted bill. Assuming waiter is new.. drinks are super important to make surebthere filled..

What we had was good, but no sunomomo or assorted sashimi plates. Tasty portions, but were smaller than in pictures. Its not the place to go if you want traditional sushi but good for sushi. The brand of sake they carry was very nice.

The food and service is pretty good but they kept increasing the price.

We have been customers of Soto for years and it has always been consistently great! It s my daughter s favorite restaurant. Whether we go for a lunch date or get takeout the food and service is always top notch. Always accommodating and friendly service. They remember us and if my daughter isn t with me they ask about her, which is so sweet :)

Food was great and came out pretty quick, however the ladies were very pushy and kept rushing us. Like asked if we were ready twice in the span of 3 minutes and was very rude when I asked for no fish roe, and proceeded to ask if I knew what fish skin was. Nonetheless, food saved the night. Save yourself some dignity and don t dine in.

Absolutely loved this place.

Mackerel, Tuna Belly and Unagi was amazing, had din dins there 2 x this month already Great food and the service was very good, super polite and generous portions throughout appetizers to the mains. Try the Miso soup to start, with salmon ponzu, sashimi. All in all, great joint for a Friday or Saturday night w / friends especially. Price point is a little high, but sushi is top dollar right now with Mitsubishi transitioning to new management team.

I wish they would open a location in edmonton or leduc I miss their food it was always so good

Very poor service and disgusting food. One star because I can t give 0 stars!! The waitress didn t care that we weren t satisfied and we left hungry. Gross!! Don t waste your money!

Had reservation for Valentines day for 8 in the evening on the tempai side where they cook your food in front of you. Showed up with my date and was informed that they were not doing that... why would they take reservations for the experience if they were not offering the service? Huge disappointment and will never return. Thanks for ruining Valentines date night. ZERO STARS.

Get the BBQ Eel. Its amazing.

The server was very nice but the manager or owner not so much. There s an obvious language barrier and when ordering my husband didn t realize what he was ordering was not something he would eat. He was expecting something similar to sweet and sour chicken with thick pieces of white meat chicken and lo mein noodles. When brought out what was supposed to be lemon chicken looked like a plate of fried crusty tiny chitlins and plain slimy udon noodles. When we told the staff that it was not something he would eat they attempted to argue with us and try to get him to try it . Very uncomfortable and awkward situation. He didn t try it and they pressured him to order something else, which we did, even though he repeated several times he did not want anything. What came out next was teriyaki chicken that was similar to a frozen healthy choice bowl. When the check came they asked if we wanted to box up the unwanted food. Of course not. It was so unappetizing to look at he didn t even try it. We were charged for all the meals. Terrible customer service. I wouldn t eat here again if someone paid me to. We didn t tip which we never ever do, but we feel the tip should come out of the pocket of the restaurant for horrible customer service and charging for an uneaten, untouched meal. I m sorry the server had to suffer the impact of terrible management.

I came here the other night with my fiancé for a date night to do the tepan part where they cook food in front of you and it was amazing! The cook was so much fun and the food was delicious.

Ive never .. And mean NEVER have I had such poor service.... Un organized.. Slow... and most rude waitresses EVER... One of our group members didnt get her drink for at least an hour in not more... By the time we actually got our food cooked for us( by the way... the ONLY good part of this establishment... the chefs that cooked in front of us. ). We had to get to go dishes and pack them. After 2 hours we were late for another funtion. Then waited for another half hour just to get the bill ... that they couldnt figure out. . Never again ...

We love going here! Always a 10/10! Expensive for a family of 4 but worth it every time!!

Ordered a few items through skip last week and nothing tasted right. The rolls looked like they had been sitting out for hours and the spring rolls were terrible. I used to eat here several times a month before covid and the food was amazing. That was not the case with my last order.

Normally I love Soto, and go very often. Went and sat down for some sushi with a friend and we had a very rude server. We got iced tea, which tasted extremely watered down and I let the server know and she apologized and said she will go check. Never offered a new drink other than water, then we got the bill $9 dollars for two iced teas, she was very rude when I asked to have them taken off since the drinks were watered down. I could tell she was annoyed with us, but almost $10 dollars for two iced teas?! That s absolutely ridiculous in the first place, but to act like that to a paying customer is upsetting. I was nice the entire time and she was giving me attitude the minute we sat down. Totally unprofessional and shouldn t be working in customer service especially serving customers if you act like that.

Come on Grande Prairie, this place is a rip off. Food is overpriced and not up to par. One of the chefs was yelling and degrading towards a waitress and management did nothing to stop it. Unprofessional and a disgrace. Stop supporting these type of establishments. Support businesses that deserve it.

Used to be great every time , this was my go to for take out 3-4 times per month . But the last 3-4 orders have been getting worse each time. Todays order was horrible . Not sure what has changed , but the food is no longer fresh , prices have gone up , and portions have shrunk . I understand costs going up now these days , but if the food is garbage, and it is, hard to support this place again. I m out

Quick service, tastey rolls, quiet if not busy. Gets noisy very quickly as no booths or sound dampening furniture/walls.

Very small portions for price paid. Inconsistent quality/quantity of food. For $21, I received 10 pieces of sushi.

Went to SOTO with a few other people. We started with calamari and gyoza. Calamari was either cooked from frozen or over cooked but the gyozas were wonderful. As for the bento box I wouldn t have any complaints. Chicken was great, rice was fluffy and the sushi that came with it was great too. Would recommend :)

Was My favorite place, until the rolls jumped $5.50 in 6 months. Use to be 18 for male dragon rolls. Which was alot. Now is 23.50 which is 5.50 dollars more.. I get that costs go up, but come on!

Great experience.

After calling the restaurant and receiving confirmation that an accommodation could be made for an allergy, the staff asked and verified the allergy three different times. And then proceeded to cross contaminate and completely destroy our dining experience, as well as put an allergy sensitive person in direct danger. No attempt was made to rectify the situation, and only after I complained that the bill did not reflect thier grave mistake, did they even attempt to make it right. Steer clear of this restaurant if you have an allergy, as they clearly are not capable of handling it safely. Dietary restrictions: Blatant disregard for food safety and cross contamination.

The mango that was in their Bob Marley roll was so bitter that it ruined the whole entire dish. Not to mention that the most basic California rolls were tasteless and bland. I do not recommend this place.

Terrible service. The waitress walked away while I was making order. When she came back, thee was no appology and no help in explaining the menu. Food was gross. Chicken and veggies were swimming in cery salty soy sauce not possible to eat. When she asked me how is the food? I replied way to salty. The answer was: do you want me to rinse the source out? Ridiculous!! I paid, gave the tip and will never be back.

Have been going there or ordering in every two weeks since discovering the place. Their house salad is amazing, I cannot get enough of that. And it is the best choice to calm the angry wife when she is hangry lol. The service has always been great and the food is never a disappointment.

2 orders of sushi was just 4 peice each and not up to my daughters usual fare. The bento box was full of crappy items salad with strange awful dressing fried vegetables were not very tasty I had steak fusion plate that tasted like they used pork which they denied it was oily and peppers and onions were the only thing edible but not tasty at all. Dont recommend for anyone. The food and service were terrible.

Food was great. Great and amazing chef. Too funny but in a good way. He made our evening interactive. That is when you try their Teppanyaki (grilled). He makes sure you have a taste of a small piece of broccoli to start off with.

My favourite place to come for sushi when I visit GP. The service and food are always wonderful. Sashimi is one of my favourites and the fish is always excellent quality!

The food was good.

The tofu appetizer was nasty! But the main dish rolls were super tasty. I m not a vegetarian, but my wife eats a lot of tofu so I thought I d try the tempura tofu; was not tasty. Was super mushy & unflavored.

A lot of what looks to be Americanized-Chinese and Japanese fusion, coupled with contemporary Japanese classics. Given our geography, still had excellent sushi, sashimi, and the like. Great selection, great taste, comfortable environment. Everytime I visit GP, my mom and I go.

Ive been here 3 times and have been pretty happy each time. The service is good but the food is great. Definitively one of the best Japanese places in Grande Prairie. The decor is a little swanky and that would throw some people off but its definitely a good restaurant.

Awesome service and delicious sushi. The roll with the tempura banana was the perfect end to the night.

Ordered General Tso, and it was extremely delicious. I would recommend it!

Very good sushi. The people were nice. The facility was clean and cozy. They were a little on the expensive side but for an occasional date night not a bad spot.

A great place to have a social meal. Went with friends and had a great time with really good quality food. One of my friends played a joke on me and told them that it was my birthday, so I had to put up with the entire restaurant singing Happy Birthday to me 4 months after the actual date, but I got to make a onion volcano because of it! I would go back again for sure.

Hardly any food for $50.00, got the yam roll with added cream cheese, most of the rolls didnt even have cream cheese in it. Worst sushi ever ordered, would not come back.
