I won’t recommend anything. I won’t come back anymore. All of the food is precooked. It definitely doesn’t need a chef for cooking. Maybe all they need to do is heating the packaged food. You can buy anything you want in Superstore or Asian grocery. Not worth to eat.
I recently visited Peko Peko with my family, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, ensuring we felt right at home. The food was nothing short of exceptional. The braised beef noodle soup was a standout, served steaming hot with a rich, savory broth, tender, slow-cooked beef, and perfectly cooked noodles that soaked up all the incredible flavors. The chicken curry on rice was another highlight—creamy, aromatic, and packed with juicy chicken atop a bed of fluffy rice. It was absolutely to die for. To complete our meal, we tried the brown sugar dirty tea, and it was simply divine. The rich, caramelized brown sugar blended beautifully with the creamy milk, and the boba pearls were the perfect texture—soft and satisfyingly chewy. It was the ideal sweet treat to round off an already amazing dining experience. With its inviting atmosphere, incredible food, and excellent service, Peko Peko left a lasting impression on my family and me, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
The hot pot was very good and a nice change from the standard fare. Good variety of menu items. Professional staff who explained the menu items. Good experience, would return.
We stopped here for lunch and had an amazing experience. We each got the Taiwanese BBQ sausage and minced pork, and we shared the Char Siew Bao. Both dishes were fantastic, but we agreed that the sausage and pork dish was the best rice dish we have ever had. So much flavour and everything felt like good quality and fresh ingredients. Amazing service too! Definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Sudbury! We’ll be back :)
Peko Peko in Sudbury offers a fantastic Japanese dining experience. The Curry chicken Cutlet were flavorful, and was fresh and beautifully presented. The brown sugar bubble fresh milk was a perfect ending. With a cozy ambiance and attentive staff, it's a must-visit for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts. Highly recommended!
I finally got the chance to stop in for dinner with some friends at Peko Peko located downtown Sudbury. We had no issues finding parking since it was during the week after 6pm. The restaurant was clean and the staff were super friendly and answered all of our questions. We were all pleased with our meals. Unfortunately there isn’t many vegetarian options for myself, however, I was informed that the staff and chef are planning to add some to their menu in the future. Go check them out when your craving something fun and different.
The service was fantastic and the food was fresh. It’s a unique experience to cook your own food and share a hotpot with a friend. The portions are generous and offer a variety of flavours and textures that were completely new to me. The drinks were all made fresh too. The only thing that was a little off was which temperature to cook mussels to, how to clean a shrimp at the table and how to cook spam in broth. I wasn’t sure of the temperatures to cook them too and possibly over cooked them.
Definitely 10 out of 10 for the authentic hotpot. The pearl milk tea also exceeded my expectations. I ordered tomato soup hotpot. The traditional hotpot is usually shared by several people but I am glad they customized the hotpot to fixed ingredients for one person so that I didn’t have to make choices(good for people who have choice phobia). Definitely coming back.
Parking: No parking near the doors Food
Had the prom bone hot pot which is way more than enough for two and it was delicious. The yakult drinks are very tasty, sweet with a slight tang. Sichuan fish soup with rice is just the right mix of sour and savoury.
Wonderful delicious food and friendly service. Went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend!
The staff is friendly and the interior is nice. However, I dont think the food is worth paying for.
Cute little spot in the center of town
The food was delicious and the service was quick and efficient!
After good reviews I decided to check. Nothing special, just food if you are hungry, it is not restaurant level. Tomato Noodles soup had tomato taste and no taste of spices, herbs and MACARONI. Dish with rise, the rise was overcooked and no taste too. I am not spicy person, but I need taste. Place is clean, loft interior, professional waiter
Quaint and lovely place, delicious food, kind service.
Hot Pot was delicious and so were the drinks. Staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely recommended!
Pro: nice environment, good service and tasty food Con: limited parking in the area unfortunately but worth the very short walk Food : 5/5
I had an amazing meal. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable even though they let us in just before closing. I highly recommend it if youre looking for a great dining experience!
Dined in - over 20 mins before being given menus, thankfully there was a dirty paper one left on the table. Ordered 10 mins later, nothing crazy, won ton soup with noodles (for a child), Taiwan BBQ rice, 1 hot pot, 1 order of har gaw and 2 pancakes. (Note: hot pot gets cooked at your table by yourself.) Waiting over an hour and a half before asking for the childs soup - which lacked any flavour - honestly it tasted as though the broth was just the package of noodle water served with wontons. We should have just left after this, as it took another 30 mins to receive the rest of our order - the rice dish, 2 simple appetizers and we STILL had yet to cook the hot pot (which half the items were frozen), our server said he would bring out the noodles once our broth was boiling - FYI the noodles are in essence a package of mr.noodle noodles uncooked and brought to you on a plate - I was fully anticipating a bowl of fresh noodles, but this was just so disappointing. Not only did it take over 1.5 hours to receive our meal, we also had to cook it (fully aware of what hot pots is and that it is to be cooked at the table side, but could it not have been provided to us in a reasonable time frame perhaps 20 mins after ordering?). Overall, a very underwhelming experience and honestly probably will not return. The pancake was good, would recommend that. But thats about it.
Some of the best food Ive ever eaten. Very friendly staff as well. Will definitely be returning.
We had someone with severe shell fish allergies. The server came to advise us that the hot pot we ordered has seasoning made with shell fish and provided us with a different hot pot alternative. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant.
The food is great and the service is good. The restaurant seems to be adapting and growing with time. I will be back. Parking: There is a limited amount of parking along Elm Street before you need to park down Elgin. Do NOT park at Shoppers. They will boot your vehicle.
Delicious! Taiwanese pork rice and bean curd rolls. tasty!
Delicious food
We loved it! We went on my birthday and they gave me a free drink! The Korean hot pot is a little spicy but really good. Guaranteed to be a good experience
On my list of amazing restaurant experiences. It was a super relaxed environment, reasonably priced, fresh and incredibly delicious. Definitely adding this place to our list of favourite Sudbury eats.
I ordered a few appetizers through skip; beef dumplings, squid balls, and some green onion pancakes. The beef wasn t even cooked, not edible I have attached a photo. The squid balls were dry and gross. The green onion pancake was the only item that I could munch on. Not Recommend.
This was easily the best meal I ve eaten out in a while. My husband and I went for Valentine s lunch and we had a blast. We ordered the beef broth hot pot, and an order of deep fried squid balls. The hot pot was fun and a bit messy and just absolutely delicious, and the squid balls were just perfectly cooked, not too fishy, great texture. The restaurant was recommended by a friend, and she was spot on. We will be returning again.
Such appreciation for the dedication these folks give to their food and service. Delicious!
The most delicious and authentic Chinese food in Sudbury (in my opinion). Lucky to be able to try the Braised Chicken Combo on their secret menu, if there are warriors who wants to try something spicy and tasted, I highly recommend ordering it! Its not shown on the menu yet, but you need to ask the waiter in store, as its not available every day.
Best and most authentic noodle bowls in Sudbury. Great flavour. Dumplings are excellent as well.
Delicious food and pretty decent sized portions. Their minced pork and sausage rice bowl is lovely and has recently become one of my go-to comfort foods. Don t let the naysayers comments about the flavours being inauthentic detract you, the food tastes great, and being in northern Ontario, a new Asian restaurant serving delicious food is always welcome.
Desserts are great! The eel rice is also good
Had the hotpot, excellent broth! Shared between my daughter and I. Fun to share and full of goodness, authentic and delicious. Very friendly and good service also. Will go back, give it a try!
Great new spot to grab a warm meal in some cold weather. Got the spicy beef soup and it was delicious! Will be back
This restaurant is so beautiful! The eel bowl was great, and the shrimp dumplings felt so authentic. Definitely worth the trip!
The staff is really nice and the food is good. I recommend you try the Strawberry Yakult soda! It is delicious.
The taste is very good and the portions are substantial. Peach yogurt is the best drink I ve ever had. I love it
Tasty food, but need better packing, my drink was half cup spilled in my 2 times takeout order. Otherwise, everything is good. Will be back.
We enjoyed the food so much. I like it that it provides Asian fusion styles that fills the gap of Asian cuisine in town. My 2-year-old enjoyed the Cantonese meat pie so much. I also appreciated the owner suggested some salt reduced options. The drinks were yummy. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, very nice and welcoming staff. Also tried the Black Ice Tea they had and I highly recommend
The Taiwanese Sausage & Minced Pork on Rice is fire 10/10 would recommend.
I really like their braised beef noodles! is my favorite! The attitude of the waiters is very good!
Finally Sudbury got an amazing Taiwanese spot!!! I m so excited for this place. If you haven t tried it you need to try it. Get the popcorn chicken and the minced pork on rice
The first time I ve tried crayfish and it is yummy. we enjoyed the meal here. Nice service.
Absolutely amazing experience! I ordered the curry chicken cutlet on rice and it was phenomenal!! Great service and amazing staff! Parking: Street parking!
The food is really good. And very nice drinks.
Great experience and great food!!!
Delicious! So much to try, so much flavor! I came back almost 2 nights in a row
Very unique to Sudbury, and very fresh and tasty
Lovely new space!
Might be my new favourite place in town. Amazingly delicious food and welcoming staff. Better than most places Ive been to in Toronto, let alone Sudbury. Do yourself a favor and try it out, you wont regret it
Amazing food. Sudbury s first and only hot pot spot. Will be back.
Ordered the daily special (teriyaki chicken on rice) and an order of curry fish balls. Staff was attentive and pleasant to deal with, my order was completed and brought out to me very quickly. Both items I ordered were very simple, but delicious. I can see how some might gripe about the price, but when you consider the portion size (I had to take half of the chicken and rice home with me), its not too bad if you consider youre getting possibly two meals out of it. All in all, Id recommend checking Peko Peko out if youre in the mood for something a little different from Sudburys usual Chinese fare.
Probably one of the worst meals I ve had in a Chinese restaurant, let alone Taiwanese. Their char siu bao came out half frozen Their braised beef noodle soup had meat coming out looking freezer burnt. The noodles were over cooked. No chew whatsoever and the soup base was basically all salt and no flavour. Their Taiwanese Rice with Minced Pork and Chinese Sausage, had rice that tasted like it came out of a package of minute rice. Freshly made rice is soft, fluffy and comforting. This was no where near that The final kicker is that they have the audacity to bribe people for 5 star reviews with a free order of squid balls. I am pro small business, but when you can t focus on basics and have a stellar product I can t see you succeeding. I m also disappointed that people are being fooled. This isn t true Taiwanese or Chinese food for that matter merely a poor imitation.
I hate leaving negative reviews for small businesses but this was the worst meal Ive ever had which sucks because all of the other reviews are mostly positive. The moment I smelt my beef noodle bowl I almost gagged, the beef looked like it was made with latex and tasted like anything but beef. The broth was horrible for all of our main dishes (wonton soup, noodle bowl). My husband got chicken fried rice which is usually a safe choice and he couldnt even eat it. We spent over $100 and did not eat more than 2 bites and we ended up having to make something at home even though we were so excited to not have to cook dinner. I can honestly say I will never order here again.
So excited and relieved to finally have a Taiwanese restaurant here in Sudbury. Food was flavourful and service phenomenal. Make sure you try one of their yakult sofas with you meal, so refreshing. Definitely a new regular hang out for me
Menu is misleading as the Portions are minimal and the quality is questionable.
My daughter and I went for lunch and had dim sum and hot pot, and we had plenty for the two of us. We only ordered one of each thing and shared, and both of us were full. The food was very flavourful and fresh. We will definitely be going back for dinner soon.
hao chi!
Amazing! Great staff, clean, delicious. 10/10 experience. P.s the girl with the sausage is SINGLE
Delicious!!! For anyone thinking the hotpot is too pricey, you should know it s meant to serve 2 people. I m so glad the server warned us because my sister and I nearly ordered our own ($28.99). Super flavorful and large portions- will be back again.
Went here for dinner and was blown away with how good the food was. It was a very calm and friendly atmosphere. The decor is very simple but dont let that deter you as the food is something you dont want to miss out on.
Staff was very kind and the food was delicious. We ordered the Taiwanese popcorn chicken, wonton soup, and the braised beef udon soup. Definitely will be going back.
Food was good. Some music would be cool.
Very delicious food and very courteous staff. Will be back again. Parking: Side street
Went here with a friend for the first time tonight and got a spicy hotpot... Ive always wanted to try one but the food was even better than I expected and picture perfect. The owner came up and introduced himself and our waiter was really attentive too so overall a great experience.
Food was fantastic. Above all they served the food with love. Service was excellent and quick. Food : 5/5
Amazing food and good service.
Fantastic food. The braised beef noodle soup was super tender with a light and tasty broth. The green onion pancake wasnt quite what I expected, but I loved what I got.
Had the Hot Pot and an an onion pancake. Was not disappointed by either one. There was so much that my daughter & I had to bring some home. Will definitely go back to try other dishes on the menu. Thank for the wonderful service, help on the suggestions & the most delicious food. Vegetarian options: There are a few options. You just have to ask.
I gave two stars because the environment is good. The Chinese said this was not authentic Chinese food. The fruit tea was made from tea bags and had no tea flavor. It cost 12 dollars for a small cup. The portion of beef noodles is very small and the beef is extremely tough. The small hot pot tastes very average! Two people ordered these and spent 72 dollars and were not full! The price is more expensive than in Toronto!
My family and I enjoyed an amazing diner!!! Such flavours! Superb service, friendly and clean atmosphere. We just loved it and can t wait to try more on the menu.
Absolutely amazing! Our server was super kind, and the food was to die for
I was disappointed by the quantity and quality of the food as well as the length of time it took for the delivery (>1 hr). While I appreciate the expediency of the driver to get our food to us, it was too little too late after several delays from the restaurant. I am weary about ordering from this restaurant again because I have lost confidence that the food will be prepared in a reasonable amount of time. Once it arrived, the food was also underwhelming; the dishes were very small for the price I paid. In a word I would call this experience negative.
A new Asian cuisine restaurant has opened in the former Slaute coffee shop location on Elm street. The restaurant itself has retained most of the same decor as before, with a few new additions. The location only offers street parking, which is fine for evening dinners. The food is very authentic Chinese so you wont find egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken balls, or most common dishes that typical Canadian Chinese restaurants offer. You will however find steamed dumplings, hot pots, and a variety of soups, noodles, and meat dishes. Definitely not a vegetarian or vegan friendly menu. In fact, the only vegetables that are on the menu seem to be those offered as part of the hot pot and fried rice dishes. I was a little disappointed as I was craving veggies but the delicious food made up for it. Will definitely visit again. Vegetarian options: None Parking: Former Salute Coffee House location on Elm street in Sudbury
Ordered the hot pot on Skip, didnt realize that meant you had to COOK IT YOURSELF when it arrived... it does not mention anything regarding cooking instructions OR THE FACT THEY ARE SENDING YOU RAWWW MEAT!!! If I didnt have a brain I would have started eating it.... They didnt send me instant noodles and for $45 with delivery and tip, trust me you want your noodles.. I requested a refund for the item to which got rejected but when I called the guy apologized and said he would personally deliver the noodles to my address after he finished closing... he never came and they closed 2 hours ago... Dont waste your time here this is the worst experience Ive ever had from ordering off of Skip...
Best bubble tea in town
Great experience.. I had the braised beef noodle soup it was very tender. Well done Winson. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic Taiwanese cuisine
Got the appetizers after the meal but everything was delicious!
You gotta try out Peko Peko. The owner was super welcoming and accommodating! You can really tell how much love went into the preparation of our food. Honestly, something for everyone! The hot pot and fried chicken were excellent. We are coming back soon to try out more items on the menu. Dont forget to get a yogurt soda!!! Unreal how good they are!! Kid-friendliness: My son enjoyed picking out a mystery gift/prize at the end of our meal!
So delicious
My family went here for my daughter s birthday. My other daughter has many food allergies and the owner was very conscientious and accommodating. Our meals were superb! Highly recommended!
good chinese food
Great experience, very welcoming environment, delicious food, especially fantastic desserts
We ordered fried rice and beef noodles for delivery yesterday. Fast delivery. So delicious! So many plates in the menu, have to try next time at the restaurant. Recommended.
Food is tasty and the staff is very kind. I dont think theres any other dim sum place in this city can beat them.
The food here is amazing. Server was friendly and helpful. Absolutely will come back in the future.
nice
Amazing food great friendly service highly recommended for your own home kitchen
Peko Peko is sooooo good! We had spicy soup hotpot with a little request to have a bit less that spicy :P and Winson at Peko Peko nailed it! We also ordered a bowl of braised rice with pork and soy sauce, that s amazing! Like the taste of the pickled mustard green added in the bowl, that s really appetizing. Must also mention the Guang s pineapple beer (Non-alcoholic) available there. Probably it s the only place that you could get one in Northern Ontario. We had a happy dinner in this chill and relaxing environment
Awesome food, service was great, facilities are very clean and relaxing.
The food was beyond incredible and the staff were so sweet. We had two different soup bases for the hot pot. I had the beef sukiyaki which was so so so tasty and my friend had the pork bone broth which he thoroughly enjoyed. Love this place so much! We are going back!
Fun new restaurant experience. I will definitely go back and try more items. A tad overwhelming since its all new but everything was good.
The hot pot feeds two people generously, making it the best value on the menu, as well as being fun and delicious. The decor is beautiful with exposed brick and vaulted plaster ceilings. There are lots of tasty snacks and desserts. Because it is new and the architecture students have left for the summer, it is a little empty at dinner. Were planning to go often to support this small, special restaurant. Weve been parking 100 ft away on Beech St.
Sudburys Hidden Gem... The Best Braised Beef Noodle Soup.. Ever !
Went on lunch to Peko Peko and it was the best service and food I have ever had! 12/10 would recommend eating here!
Yummy, pork steam buns where very good, first time I saw anything made from Durian in Northern Ontario. Durian Cakes where good. Braised beef soup was good.
Amazing !!! Thank you for opening in Sudbury !!!
We just had lunch here and it was so good! Highly recommend. The service, food and atmosphere were all wonderful!
Not sure exactly what drink I ordered but damn it was good.
Very authentic Taiwanese and japanese rice bowls. Their Sichuan fish soup is absolutely amazing and the portion is large enough for two people.
Owner was very kind and accommodating. Great place for authentic Chinese food.
We had a hotpot, it was good. The only thing I was not a fan of was the waiting, took forever. Maybe need more staff.
Excellent Best ever, definitely be back Food
Very good authentic food. Wasnt sure what to expect and we were presently surprised. Clean environment, good food and friendly staff. This is a casual dining restaurant, so expect that when dining here. Noodle dishes are around $20. Portions were good. Mango slush for $13.99 was expensive, but the kids really liked it.
Delicious food I could eat every day mmmm the service great the atmosphere perfect
One of my favorite restaurants in Sudbury. Portions are big for the price Definitely recommend the Taiwanese BBQ Sausage and minced pork on rice Food
Bacon fried rice??? Thats a thing? Well let me tell you it is amazing!! Highly suggest supporting this business.
Quiet place with a nice variety of food. Braised beef was super tender and the broth was very flavourful. Chef and staff were attentive and helpful. Would come here again :)
This place is a hidden GEM. Was my first time going here and wasnt dissapointed with anything. the hospitality, food and portions were all amazing!! highly highly recommend this place to anyone looking to try new things :)
Went after work with a friend on September 7, 2023. Food was amazing! I had the Beef Noodle soup and the steamed Pork buns, both were delicious. The server was lovely as well! I ll be back to try the hot pot soon.
Good. Really good.
Very good food you cam taste the quality of cuts and the skill from the chefs
Both the mango yogurt and the food were tasteless and not worth the price.
The fried rice does not have much flavor and the wonton soup broth tasted like just plain hot water and milk and does not give a lot of flavor at all. Very disappointed overall on the soup and chicken fried rice
I visited in September. Peko Peko in Sudbury 73 elm suite 100. 10/10 Big perfect portions and super good quality ingredients. It was delicious and 100% authentic Place was welcoming and clean. Cant wait to visit again on my next trip to Sudbury Dietary restrictions: Can make special requests on portion size
I love the spicy hotpot and milk bubble tea today !
Food was delicious but I d have to say the service was better, if not phenomenal. Our server was so attentive the entire time and actually paid attention to our needs without us having to say anything.
Very authentic Chinese restaurant Very high cost performance Very kind and friendly owner
Wonderful little spot! To start we had Taiwanese popcorn chicken which was very crispy and was good with the sauce it comes with. My gal had the Korean style broth hot pot which was perfect levels of spice and tasted great. I had the Japanese style beef and rice dish which was very savory and also tasted great. Dessert we shared a Mango sago with coconut milk and as expected lovely not too sweet but refreshing treat. The lady serving us was nice and the food all came out super fast. Im hoping it was just the night we were there but we were the only people there for the hour and a bit before they close. Downtown is awful to business but I want this place to do well! Please go and try it you wont be disappointed!
Came here with our entire team, the night before our tournament. We had called in advance, to make sure they could fit all 30 of us. The place is not very big, but they pulled it off. The food did come out slow, but that is expected with such a large group. There were no complaints about the taste of the food from anyone, it was actually quite good. Did not get to try the drinks, hopefully next time.
I understand the good review. What a gem!
Wonderful experience and great food
