Gem of a place

The owner Kevin is very strange. I witnessed him throw utensils at a staff. Food was overpriced and over cooked.

Great food and great service.

Fish was flavourless as if the batter was just flour and the fries weren t salted. No condiments or salt & pepper in the bag, no utensils, no napkins. Didn t ask or offer.

Ive been going to Rudys for many years now and never even since new ownership has the quality of their food went down. Its consistently well made and home made !! Try their breakfast its probably the best in town. Bacon is not just bacon until you tried theirs. Cooks and staff are wonderful !! Its the cheapest place in town to eat and its all homestyle cooking.

Good value of money if you order their fries, they are huge.

Truly, a hidden gem in the Sudbury area great place for a nice quiet lunch with conversation. Great homemade food I would recommend to anyone. Kid-friendliness: Server was very friendly and attentive.

I ve been sooooo excited to try their food. Im hoping it was just cause I got it through skip that it sucked so hard. But the fries were so stiff (felt like day old fries) I didn t get the sauces I ordered. The burger was . I don t even have words and I m not sure what was on my pogo but it was not chili

Second time this month I ve ordered here and show up to pick up the food and it wasn t started. Brutal take out service.

Waited twenty minutes for my order to be taken. The server was abrupt and rude. They forgot to put my order in and 40 minutes later they have come back to me twice to remind them of what I want. My husband is long done eating and Im still sitting here waiting. I think Im just going to walk out.

Though an old building, I love the breakfast. The price cant be beat, and I love the grilled potatoes instead of deep-fried. Not a fancy place but when you want a big breakfast, its my go-to.

Best burger in town. How did I not know this? Got the widow burger. Delicious. To the owners, those napkins you have might be ok at those other burger joints in town, but that delicious burger I got at your place needs a kings napkin. fries were amazing as well.

Owner has an attitude and argues with staff in front of customers. Definitely ruins the feel of the place.

Food was amazing , Day staff are amazing BUT BE WARNED DO NOT GO IN THE NIGHT or after supper, the young waitress is incredibly rude and was purposely telling us to hurry up and order.

Ordered breakfast from Rudys (through Skip) First time Ive ever tried this place (shouldve done it sooner!) So good! The message on my bag was so nice :) The omelet was packed and home fries were fresh and I appreciate them not being loaded with salt. Thanks guys! You have won over a new customer.

I ordered a burger, fries and the combo of mushroom caps and cheese sticks. The food was awesome. A small fry was larger than I anticipated. What stood out for me was their handwritten message on the delivery bag. It put a smile on my face and guaranteed that I would be a repeat customer. Thank you Rudys.

I live just down the road and always have such a pleasant experience! Food is made fresh and is always so good and comforting! The hand breaded pogos and deep fried pickles are a must every time! Staff is so lovely over the phone when I order for pick-up and the portions even for takeout are incredible for the price! Always hits the spot :)

Nice place to eat but an older place,food was good.

The food was hot and fresh. The service was quick and thorough. Their process is great. Parking is ample. This is my new favorite place for breakfast! Keep it up.

pogos are good

I had to ask for peanut and jam. I had to ask for more drinks. The waitresses sat at the bar too much instead of looking after customers.

I ordered an item called the Big Hubi with Fries from their menu. Then when I went to pay the bill, they charged me an extra 3$ for the with Fries part of my meal. Thats clearly not what their menu said. This place rips off its customers.

Good food great price

Got a cheeseburger and fries for take out. Serving of fries was tasty and way too much to finish (definitely not a bad thing). Burger was okay, nothing to crave about.

Very old school and delicious!

My husband and I and 2 teenage grandsons just returned from Rudys for lunch (Good Friday). Bad vibes from the min we walked in. Poor cold greeting. Sat ourselves. My husband and I ordered the fish special. Fish was so soggy and dripping with oil you couldnt eat it. My grandson had chicken Parmason. The cheese on the chicken wasnt even melted. The spaghetti had no sauce. Had to ask for sauce. Waited 15 min for the sauce because it had to be heated. These are just a few things that went bad. Wont get into the rest. Overall, poor service and terrible food. Wont be going back there. $90 dollars down the drain.

Service was great. Food was great. Nice sized portions. Would definitely recommend. Parking: Was behind restaurant. It was not paved, but wasnt too bad. Food makes up for any inconvenience.

Arrived at 5 pm. Waited 90 minutes for a house salad. Consisted of romaine, bacon and 100 croutons. Asked for chicken on it. No chicken. Service was next to nil Door dash took priority over in house dining. Worst service and worst salad Ive ever waited 90 minutes for. Heard positive reviews about it. Highly disappointed. Chef, owner was rude when i got up to to ask for a beverage after 60 minutes. Not returning.

Always amazing food, one of the best burgers in town

Disappointed with the fish and chips. First time we went we had very large portions and it was very good. Today the portions were considerably smaller and didnt taste nearly as good as the first time.

Absolutely amazing everytime! The deep-fried anything is amazing! Our favorites are the homemade pogos (with chili) and the deep-fried brownies. Definitely must try! The fries are thick, creamy and crispy! Hubby loves the burgers! They are amazing at skip requests! I asked for only flat chicken wings since the larger drums make me sick... they gave me 100% only flat perfect pieces! Thrilled to order again, 4th time today :)

Nice resteraunt if you want a peaceful bite to eat with a traditional home-cooked flavor. Recently tried the fried fish and I do say was tasty but light on the flavor. Maybe more seasoning could be used for future. Fries were tasty had a classic chip-stand taste. Store is quiet dim on the lighting and could use a refurbish. Parking: Not a ton of parking but pleanty for the traffic I typically see there. Kid-friendliness: Safe place to eat with your family.

Went in for breakfast, seen there was warmed up bread aka toast coming out so I asked with my order if my toast can be toasted a bit more. The waitress said well it s white bread . So I wait for my order, She brings it to me and the toast are the blackest I ve ever seen and she says here is your extra burnt toast I said I didn t say anything about extra burnt toast, got up and walked out . I show many people my picture of my extra burnt toast .

Went for lunch and had the fish and chips. When we asked the waitress to make sure the fish was drained really well she looked at us like we had three heads.

Editing my review to add that Rudys has THEEEEEEE BEST poutine in the city! They do everything right! Extra crispy fries so they dont get soggy in the gravy and the gravy is the perfect consistency and flavor, nice and thick and just the right amount of salt. The curds are also premium quality. Had breakfast here this morning and was so happy with everything. Food was delicious, server was excellent and kept our coffee topped up, everything was clean and tidy. Has easily become my favorite breakfast spot. Will definitely be returning to try their lunch and dinner menu.

Came here with my dad. Rudy s makes the best homemade pogos! One pogo filled me up. $5 meal, delicious and delightfully full! Can t complain!

First time here for breakfast. Food was very good. Potatoes were great...grilled not greasy. Had a western omelette and hubby had eggs bennys. Both very tasty. Good portions. Coffee fresh and good flavor. Service was fast. Overall very good and will definitely be back.

The cook only knows how to make one dish at a time, resulting in very long wait times for your food. The soup we got was very watery and lacked seasoning. The bacon on the club sandwich was only half cooked. Also, the sandwich was not cut properly for a club. The liver and onions were ok, but the onions were only half cooked and were still crunchy. I got gravy on my liver, but none on the instant mashed potatoes.

Tonight was my first time ordering from Rudys Restaurant, and I will for sure be returning! I tried a cheeseburger and a traditional poutine and both were delicious and cooked perfectly! Best poutine I had in Sudbury, yet.

After 3 years of driving past on my way to Princess Auto I finally stopped in from lunch. The burger was good (but recommend the super hub if youre real hungry), the fries were great and service was excellent.

If youre older and you want good food from an old fashioned greasy spoon restaurant, then this is the restaurant for you!! If youre younger and dont know what a greasy spoon restaurant is, youre missing out and you should go and try it!!

We love their Thursday sandwich Specials!! The clubhouse has lots of bacon and fresh ingredients!!

So ordered from here for the first time. I ordered a poutine and burger. The poutine was good. Lots of cheese and good tasting gravy. The burger wasn t all that hot. Next I d love to try their clubhouse.

Great prices, quite for a Sunday lunch and great food with good portions. Not too much and not too little.

Worst experience ever. The food tasted old and the fries seemed like they were from the day before. The patty was small and tasted like feet. The chicken wasnt crispy as it should be --instead it was soggy and not cooked through. The jalapeño poppers were dripping. The only thing that came as expected and tasted halfway decent was the bottle of iced tea. I have never had such a bad experience. I will not be returning and cant believe I spent money on food that shouldnt be consumed. I didnt even want to give one star.

Lovely service, the soup is good, the steak on a bun is not as nice as it sounds, the Reuben sandwich is great. Milkshakes are good when dining in but they dont fair too well as takeout

Wow first time trying their food, loved the English style fish , fries and coleslaw. My family loved the milkshakes, and cheese and bacon burgers. Definitely 10/10 for us. Nice kind message on take out bag was a nice touch..

Horrible experience! Both server s had no clue about the menu when asked specific s about what s inside a omelette. The meal came with home fries which were raw, white potatoes and cold. Definitely not worth the money we payed. Slow service, food was not good. How can you not make a good breakfast, beats me Disappointed

First time to try the place. If youre looking for dinner and a show this is the place for you. Watching the cook freak out and throw his tongs because he dropped my pogo, I never saw that before. The food wasnt good enough to be mediocre, the fries were almost room temperature, the hamburger tasted odd... Considering so many chips stands and burger joints on Lasalle, they need to step up their game... Its sad that a chips stand smaller than my kitchen can deliver an awesome meal while a sit down restaurant with a large kitchen cant measure up. Something they might want to consider, would be too implement a system to number or mark the items, for first timers who are ordering for a family, multiple burgers, ... It wont matter for next time for us, we wont be back... Yuk.

The staff there are very friendly, the food was yummy, Im picky and I was very happy with everything. I recommend Rudys highly.

The cons: I didn t get any ice in my water, the food was very slow to come out, and the air conditioning was not working well (it was quite warm). The pros: The burger and club sandwich were both very good and the fries were fantastic! The server was very nice as well.

Avoid.....No longer the same restaurant. As I live in the same neighbourhood Rudys has always staple and a place to take the family when they visit. The ownership changed a few years ago and I can no longer recommend the place. The owner really shouldnt be in the service industry he is unfriendly, rude and overwhelmed way too easy..... Just avoid the dispointment.

This place has drastically changed recently and its not for the better. Ive ordered 3 burgers and evertime they are dry and the taste is off. Ive been coming here for 20 years and love the food. Apparently there are new owners now that have changed a lot of things but one thing they shouldnt have changed is the burger. If your going to change things on the menu that have been the same for 20-30 years u should rename the restaurant so the customers arent expecting the same stuff. Friendly staff but I wont be going back and I think all the old customers will eventually feel the same. If it isnt broken dont try to fix it!

Surprising. At first glance, you might pass up, but my Fish & Chips were superb. You should try it at least once to make up your own mind.

Small cozy restaurant with fresh flavourful food. I had a reuben sandwich with tomato vegetable soup. The soup was a little salty but had a great overall taste. The sandwich was generously portioned and tasted great. Family restaurant feel with fresh food moderately priced.

Great food but 19$ for a burher, fries and a pop is a bit steep
