Bella Vita Cucina in Greater Sudbury

Extremely disappointed - $54 for a meal that consisted of a small salad and 15 ravioli that were cold and didn t taste like much.

Shocked to find out that the dont have a single vegan item on their menu or were even willing to accommodate a vegan diet. Its too bad they arent moving with the times.

First time eating here, loved the food and service. Restaurant is a little loud, but prices are reasonable. Will definitely eat here again.

Put in a room with a large party in it. It was so noisy you could not hear our party talk.

The food was excellent and the staff were pleasant. Regrettably, the people of Sudbury seem to be of the opinion that their conversation needs to be heard by others, so the noise was a total nuisance. Perhaps a different table location would have improved on what was a fairly decent outing. We will, however, return for future dining out dates.

Best service ever! They do NOT rush you out to turn tables fast. They take the time and go at your pace. The food was great!

Definitely, one of the best that I have tried in Canada so far. Food was fresh, service was polite and on time. The Nero Sicilian wine was great. Fried Calamari s were so tasty. I suggest it.

Its got a great atmosphere. The food is fine, but neither of us were impressed when we took into account the price. Service was ok. This was my 2nd visit, my last one was quite a number of years ago. I probably wont go back for a number of years.

First time at this restaurant and our last. Service was slow, half full dinner 530ish. Drinks came out for 2 people at the table, mine came much later. Menu was mediocre at best. I ordered lamb which came cooked perfectly, but served with soggy vegetables. Lamb with no sauce?? Pizza was terrible for second guest, as they served it whole slices of salami. Simply chopping the salami would have made this a easier to eat, all of the toppings came sliding off with each huge salami. Third guest stated pasta was top notch. The highlight of the meal was watching one of my guests struggle with a mouth full of chunky wine. Not just sediment at the bottom of the glass. Wine that has been opened and left. Disgusting. The server stated this was normal for this wine . If this is the case then you should be decanting and straining the wine. Nope, wont return. Highly disappointed. No apology or effort to learn with concerns pointed out.

Saturday June 14 my family had the pleasure of dining here . All for the first time . Everything was EXCELLENT from start to finish . We will ALL return . We had appetizers , Steak , Fish , Veal and Lasagna and Desserts . You will NOT be disappointed . This restaurant is a GEM in the city of Sudbury . Highly recommend you try it .

Greetings! My daughters baby shower happened at Bella Vita and everything was wonderful. The food, the drinks, the environment, and the Server. Her name starts with a J. BEST!

Quite a nice place. Very very clean! The food was hot and steaming delicious. I will go again soon. Great for an individual if you are alone and dont want the typical fast food stuff. IE; mds , bk , any chinse , etc.

This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is superb and top quality . You couldnt ask for nicer staff and great service. Highly recommend it and you will not be disappointed.

Had my wedding reception dinner at the restaurant, amazing staff, delicious food, loved the family style and they were very accommodating to allergies/dietary preferences (vegan). Highly recommend for any event. Reasonable price and you can take home the leftovers so no food goes to waste. Dietary restrictions: They were able to alter the family style menu for groups to accommodate a vegan guest, a guest with peanut allergy and a guest with fish allergy at no additional cost.

If you like too much salt and loud atmosphere this is the place to go. When we booked a reservation days in advance, for 5:00, my husband was asked if we would be done by 7:00. While at the restaurant, our waitress approached our table we were asked if we wanted to hear the specials or no. Most wait staff would just say tonights specials are...., we werent asked if we wanted another beverage, etc. I guess they really wanted to ensure we were out within the 2 hour window.

This is my favorite food in sudbury. It is quite pricy but you pay for what you get honestly. Usually when people ask me what is the best food in sudbury? I respond with Bella vita, tommys not here and p&m in that order. Ive tried a few things on the menu and some of the drinks. If they have the lamb shanks as a special and you want to treat yourself, get it!

Food and service were very good but it was noisy, there were no soft surfaces to absorb sound. I might not recommend for a quiet, romantic dinner.

I picked up two dinners for my wifes birthday. The first thing I noticed when handed the food was how light the package was. We ordered Ravioli and Farfalle. The ravioli was decent, but there wasnt much quantity to the order. The Farfalle was extremely acidic and honestly tasted like canned tomato sauce. It also does not come with any protein, making the 35$ price pretty outrageous. The bell peppers in it were also under cooked. It feels like we spent 70$ on two appetizers and we purchased the large option. We often order from P&Ms and I would say the portions there are about 30% bigger, with a protein, and cheaper. We ate both plates and are now ordering a pizza. Would not recommend. I would think a 70$ meal would at least have some sort of side/salad/bread or at least a protein in the pasta.

Delicious food and attentive staff! The radio could have been a bit quieter or have been set to play only music. Hearing the radio commentators made it difficult to listen to the tables conversation. The radio music is quite loud

We came out for a nice leisurely dinner. We ordered our drinks and asked that our order not go in right away as we wanted cocktails first. We would have ordered a bottle of wine but we didn t have our drinks 5 minutes when our plates showed up. I ended up drinking my martini w my pasta. The gnocchi was tasty but my husband s meat was dry. When we told our waitress why we were annoyed she just said sorry and left the table. We were in and out within 50 minutes. She could have been new but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Went for my birthday on Saturday. Bon sauf que saumon était trop cuit. Had to return my plate and ask for less cooked salmon.. You could substitute potatoes and veggies for risotto which I did but pricy 11$ more for a already 35$ main. Biggest deception was the refusal of a 100$ visa prepaid gift card I got for Xmas. It is basically as if they refused cash. Maybe staff needs to be educated about this type of payment.

Food was fantastic, service was mediocre. Waitress was inattentive and did not come around to ask if we needed a refill on drinks or how our meal was. We weren t asked if we wanted dessert either. The bartender delivered the drinks we ordered when we first arrived. This isn t the type of service you would expect from a restaurant with such rave reviews. It was a totally different and disappointing experience compared to the last time I was there with a male server. If I do order from there again it will be take out.

Simply one of the best restaurants in the North. If you come through Sudbury and dont make a point of coming in for the full experience, you are doing yourself a disservice. Everything is 1st class!

Fantastic meal! We ordered the Penne alla Vodka, Gnocchi Scamorza and Genovese Pizza. The first item is a favourite from years ago (we havent eaten here in quite a while) the other two items were new to us. All three were simply perfect. We couldnt ask for anything to be better or different. We ordered this as a takeout meal and were also given fresh bread and parmesean to go with our meal. Cant wait to order again:)

I came here for the first time with my husband for our anniversary. We ordered the carpaccio as a starter and it was perfect. For our mains I ordered the ravioli and my husband got the gnocchi, both were absolutely delicious and very filling portion sizes. The atmosphere was welcoming and our server was lovely and attentive. We will definitely be back again.

Bella Vita is always on point with their food. Ordered takeout and there is always that wonder if their food will taste as good once you get it home as opposed to eating it at the actual restaurant? The Penne alla Vodka I had a good feeling it would be the same. The Grigliata Mista di Pesce - Mixed Grilled Seafood was absolute perfection. Mix them together and you have an outrageous meal for two. Bravo to the Chef(s) at Bella Vita.

I took a customer here for dinner. Our server Sabina was fantastic. She was polite, professional and funny. We both ordered pastas and they were amazing. My only suggestion would be to change the light bulbs to more of a yellow light. The current cold white ones arent very comfortable. Otherwise this place was great and Ill definitely go back!

Nice homestyle Italian restaurant. The farfalle pasta was excellent, the pizza wasnt the best - ,the olives especially were too brackish which ruined their taste.

This was an incredible dining experience! The food was amazing and plentiful, served family style since we were a large group. Antonella was very accommodating and made excellent recommendations on food and wine! Must try: Mushroom Bruschetta!

We have had many take away meals from here that were so good but our in dining experience was different. We were a table of 6. Two people ordered risotto and many pieces of rice were hard and crunchy. This wasn t al dente but like raw bits of rice. One pasta order was also not cooked till al dente but undercooked. The pizzas were good. Overall for the price we were disappointed. On a positive note the servers were awesome and gave 5 star service.

Very disappointed, we made reservations for our anniversary. My wife requested a quiet corner and something special for desert. First they didn t have our reservation and seated us by the kitchen. They were quite busy as the greeter told us they had a lot of walk ins. It was very noisy, the service was sub standard and not up to their normal standards. We frequent this restaurant quite regularly and recommend it to everyone. We contacted them by phone and email and they called back 10 days later. The owner basically just called us liars and didn t care. We weren t asking for anything, just wanted to let them know what happened! So much for our favourite restaurant!

This was my third time being at this restaurant, and we loved it again. I dont think we will ever hate it. The staff were courteous and pleasant. The food and wine were superb. We have been to Rome and Florence and I can say that their food is just as great as some of the places we had eaten there. We will definitely be back!

Excellent Easter lamb dinner. Our Ontario lamb chops were grilled to perfection. Fantastic vegetables, antipasto etc. Will visit again when we come to Sudbury. Brûlée and Tiramisu were also amazing.

Awesome place to dine in, they offer delicious homemade recipes that makes you wanna eat everything on your plate. This past weekend, Fillipo and his amazing staff from BELLA VITA CUCINA catered our daughter s backyard wedding for 70 guests. They contributed to creating the Amalfi Coast setting that our daughter and son in law had wanted without traveling to Italy. The food was simply out of this world and truly an authentic taste of Italy! We still have guests messaging us and raving about the excellent meal that had been served. The various appetizers (stuffed mushrooms, caprese skewers, prosciutto wrapped melon and pepper bruschetta) were bite sized morsels of heaven. Refreshing caesar salad and tomato/cucumber salad followed. The homemade mushroom ravioli prepared by his mom Lina, penne alla vodka, stuffed chicken, and the juicy AAA sirloin steak are foods that I am still dreaming about now. My only regret was that I didnt get to sample the scrumptious vegetarian eggplant parmigiana! Jamie, Darlene and Jolin were attentive servers that went out of their way to make sure everyone had everything that was needed. Thank you so much Fillipo and staff for providing the sensational food and service for a magical wedding.

The food was excellent, I had the top Serloin steak with green pepper sauce, very tender and juicy. My wife had the lasagna, nice big portion. We finished off with a fantastic cheesecake topped with raspberry puree. Was a very nice dinner and didnt cost as much as I thought it would.

We had great evenings here. Food and coffee are excellent and real Italian style. Good wine selection. We had the best pizza in North America so far.

True authentic Italian cuisine! My husband and I were passing through Sudbury and we found this cute little Italian restaurant, everything was perfect! Being from Italian heritage and having beautiful home-cooked meals from my Italian parents this reminded me of Home!

Generally, I enjoy supporting places like this as its the mom and pop shoppes that tend to get squeezed out of the economy. Its nice when they are still surviving, thriving actually. The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived and thats a great sign. The wait time was short, as I had called ahead. So we got seated right away, by I believe, one of the owners. The service was okay. Busy overall and it kinda felt we got less taken care of by our original waitress. As there was almost a full house. Nonetheless she did manage what she could. Clearing the table and bringing our main dishes got shifted to other staff though. The bread that is boasted as, made in house and a family recipe, arrived cold to our table and the taste was not exquisite. It was okay. It being warmed, may have changed the outcome of this. Our appetizers came shortly thereafter. All of which, were salads. I used a peice of the bread to soak up the remnants of my overly dressed beet and goat cheese salad. A rude comment was then made by the person who came to collect our plates (I believe he was one of the owners as he was the same person who sat us upon arrival), we have a dishwasher for that he said. Sometimes words sting and these ones certainly did. I felt hurt. Since I was hurt I retracted myself and did not say how much this comment effected me at the time. Sure, he meant it in jest. Yet there are things sometimes not necessary to be said. This was definitely one of them. Keep your mouth shut if it has any potential to be unkind! Is my motto. I would have enjoyed my meal a lot more had he not said anything at all. The pizzas were good. Nothing to write home about though. In fact, one of the group members mentioned, hes had better and I agree. Music incredibly befitting for an Italian restuarant. The lighting could have used some improvement. Pretty fire - cracker like lights, set the mood yet were LEDs and therefore not my thing. What peeved me the most, I wasnt even all that impressed with this place and I tipped on the higher scale of things. Oh well, enjoy it. Not sure if I will venture here again...

I really wanted to like this place but the food was just ok. Started with a caprese salad which was 4/5. Ordered the lamb with a side of fettuccine. The presentation was nice but the lamb was too salty 2/5. The fettuccine was excellent 5/5. They nicely offered to replace the lamb so ordered the sirloin steak. Cooked to order but just was not a great piece of meat and flavour was just ok 3/5. Ended with a tiramisu which was excellent 5/5. Service was nice but the food was just meh. Would not come back again.

This place is a gem. The food is always great. The service is excellent with friendly and personable servers. My waiter made a food recommendation that was spot on. Vegetarian options: There were a number of meat-free options on the menu including pizzas, pastas, and salads. Parking: Parking is immediately left of the restaurant and there are plenty of spaces.

Wonderful Italian cuisine with a delicious menu and fantastic service. Im rating the atmosphere a bit low because we were put in a small plain room away from the major hustle & bustle of the restaurant atmosphere,however, the service was a 5 because they made accommodations for us when they had a full house and that room was all that was available unless we waited. Their homemade gnocchi is like puffs of delicate pillows enrobed in a delicious creamy tomato sauce - a must try . We will definitely be returning.

This is our Special Anniversary Spot. Food has always been Super Delicious and they are always offering new offerings. Service is great, always there for you and they are more than willing to answer any questions you may have about all the many options on the menu. I was not impressed by Bella Vita Cucina. The food was good but nothing special. The service was awful we didnt even get one of our appetizers after letting the server know three times. We were done with our main courses when the server asked if we still wanted the missing appetizer. The atmosphere wasnt what I had envisioned. Based on what people had told me about the place. I wish we had gone to Respect is Burning as that was on our short list for the evening. Honestly Ive had better at Caruso Club when Ive gone for the buffet. The atmosphere was similar and tables were cramped and the overall layout was not indicative of the price they charge there. Quite obviously I wont be returning as I feel that the money spent didnt equal the service, atmosphere or food quality. I think Bella Vita Cucina may have been better once upon a time but that ship has sailed in my humble opinion.

I was in Sudbury for work for a couple of days and a friend from suggested Bella Vita Cucina. We were able to get last minute reservations for party of 5 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the service. I had the bow tie pasta with scallops and crab meat in a creamy leek rose sauce. It was delicious.

wonderful Italian restaurant, staff is great. If its not on the menu, dont hesitate to ask, they will usually be able to accommodate you. we had 5 kids 12 and under and staff treated them very well.

Amazing, friendly and quick service. Food was fresh, delicious and served beautifully. We had the bruschetta and carpaccio for apps, lasagna, chicken and sausage raviolis and seafood pasta for the main course and finally creme brulee tiramisu, espresso and a cafe au lait for desert. This place is spotless from top to bottom. The staff are friendly and when i could not get my tv to work they came and fixed it within minutes. 5 minute drive to big box stores and restaurants. I will stay here before the big chain hotels.

Molto bene! Delicious! We came for a sea bass and were not dissapointed. It was the most delicious fish weve had in Canada! The chef is Italian, he knows how to cook!

So pleasantly surprised by the amazing food and service!! Best pizza we ve ever had, just perfect. Staff was so kind and courteous. The only reason I m giving it 5 stars is because I don t have the option to give it more.

What wonderful service, and the lasagna was absolutely fantastic. It reminded me of Italys Calabrese regional foods. If you are concerned about the price....the old axiom applies here, you get what you pay for. In this case, top quality service, and top quality food. The ambiance was warm and soothing. It was like coming home.

I had the Risotto di mare and it was so tasty! I dont remember tasting Risotto this tasty since i had them in Italy! My friend had the bow tie pasta and it is equally tasty! Mine had clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, scallops and every component is fresh which Im very surprised at. Definitely recommend when in the Soo. Wish they have a branch in Toronto

Great dinner and prices, a little understaffed like the rest of the world so service a little slower than normal but staff did their best and were well tipped
