Ripe has lots of great vegan options and a really cozy atmosphere.

I had the pasta dish, rustica casarecce, it was delicious. Our server was so good, super friendly and knowledgeable. Visiting from out of town, I would definitely go here again.

I had the best gnocchi of my life at Ripe. The atmosphere feels a bit off, but the food was amazing.

Ripe is the best restaurant in Sudbury and always has incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked menu! The service is also always consistent and amazing. My only comment from last week was that I was craving the lamb gnocchi and when the order came there were 3 small pieces of lamb. I m sure it can be hard to know how much is going out in every serving but it was a little bit sad that evening.

Server complained about being tired, fish was undercooked and hidden chilli flakes in the veg caught in my throat and was unedible will not go back

I have travelled to Sudbury for work every month for years now. I have eaten in many places and I cant believe this was my first time at RIPE. The food is the best I have had and I am an Italian food fanatic. The servers name was Tory...she was great! I will come back every month when I am back in town...until then, I will be thinking about the Mushroom Gnocchi.

We have been to Ripe four times over the past 18 months. Each time, the food was fresh and tasty; the service was attentive and helpful; and the experience was stellar. Looking forward to returning soon!

One of the best meals weve had in years. We had the brie burger, pizza, pasta and the lamb gnocchi and all were fantastic. Often I get restaurant food and think I can make better at home but they really dialed it in. The pizza is way better at Ripe than down the street at Di Gusto. The homemade gnocchi was terrific, like little pillows of perfection. Not sure why we took a few years off on this place, need to go back very soon.

Ripe is the perfect intimate restaurant in town. I m obsessed with their maple ravioli and mushroom gnocchi. They have to be the best I have ever tasted! Highly recommend

Had lamb gnocchi and maple ravioli for our mains then for dessert we ate the chocolate oblivion cake and the sticky toffee pudding. Everything was so delicious! Cant wait to go back.

Had the mushroom gnocchi and it never disappoints. Ive never had gnocchi as fluffy and perfectly crafted as the ones at Ripes. I didnt have to even open my menu since I knew it was what I was returning for.

Beware this restaurant is racist and unfriendly to BIPOC individuals. I was invited with a big group for a special event to this restaurant. 3 students on the table ended up not tipping after the meals. Due to this, the manager, Tory, and our server Taylor let it loose and became confrontational and hostile to everyone at the table. Even though we tipped and a friend of mine ended up tipping for all 3 students before we left. Their words were hurtful and targeted. I did not feel welcomed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I was there for a special event with my friends .2 or 3/10 of us who are students didn t tip the server and she came and told us: don t come back here . We felt insulted she just ruined the night.very rude and unprofessional.I do not recommend don t go there

My boyfriend and I enjoyed dinner and drinks for our anniversary. I had a few drinks but the espresso martini was my favourite, a very well balanced drink. The brie to start was to die for, it was cooked to perfection. I was impressed with the amount of vegetarian options for me - but I went with the maple ravioli and was happy with my choice as it was delicious. Veronica and Taylor provided fast and friendly service. Will go again and definitely recommend to our friends and family.

amazing food!!! in and out in 30 minutes

From greet, seat, service, eat and leave. Great service from beginning to end. Host who welcomed us was right off the bat welcoming to the kids and interactive. Our waitress was fantastic. Asking us if we were new to the restaurant, very informative of all the dishes and recommendations. And she to was absolutely amazing about interacting with our kids. Clean, relaxed and great atmosphere. Food. Truely Best gnocchi I ever had. Good variety of picks on the kids menu, plates are really well portioned and great for little hands. Kids finished their plates without hassle! We even ordered a pizza to take home for at home movie night. Recommend! Will be returning!

First of all Im not a fan of Italian restaurants. My Granddaughter wanted to go to Ripe. I had never been in a restaurant in my own country where I did not understand the menu. I settled with a BBQ chicken pizza I asked that the pineapple and the jalapeños be left off the pizza, and they were. The pizza was so spicy I could not eat it. Personally I will never go back nor recommend Ripe

IF you love in the southend or anywhere in Sudbury this is a must attent restaurant! Good quality food both for lunch and dinner. I dont eat Pizza, but I have been out with people who loved it!

The food was superb. Being vegan, I had to modify and I built my own gnocchi that is made in-house. The chef was able to use the coconut cashew cream sauce that isnt typically used in gnocchi but they put it together for me with sundried tomatoes and spinach. The first bite and the rest following was friggen phenomenal and Im a very picky vegan! Sauce was definitely 10/10

Miss Taylor was amazing and super fun to talk with. BBQ pizza was awesome. Even the $2.00 variance was a pleasure and well worth it. We recommend Taylor as your best ever waitress. If we get back to Sudbury we will look for Taylor and Ripe Gord & Lesley, Niagara Falls area

My colleague and I are in Sudbury for a conference and unexpectedly had to find somewhere to have dinner. OlWe tried Ripe and were so glad that we did! The food was excellent, as was the attentive but unintrusive service of Vic, our excellent waiter. I highly recommend Ripe Restaurant to anyone looking for a very good meal in with excellent service ina pleasant atmosphere at a realistic price.

Had dinner with a few colleagues and everything was excellent. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was prepared perfectly and so delicious. Two of my colleagues had pizza and said it was the best in town. I had the best maple ravioli I ever tasted. Highly recommend Ripe restaurant.

Portion sizes are too small for price, had to go somewhere else to eat. Bread should be included in pasta meals. Food was not hot. Drink was watered down. Took a long time for waitress to come back to the table.

Ripe has been at the top of my list of best restaurants in Sudbury for years. The food is extraordinary. Unique dishes with incredible taste. Ambiance is great if you want a nice social evening. Great service. Friendly faces. What more can you ask for?

I went to this restaurant before the pandemic and remember it being absolutely delicious. After ordering again today, I am thoroughly disappointed. Both of our entrees were not tasty at all, the risotto cant even be considered risotto, it was inedible. The maple ravioli was okay, but the inside tasted very bland and it was really greasy. The truffle fries were actually really delicious, so I would recommend those. Overall though, Im dissatisfied.

The food was okay...like it was good, but service was lacking personality? (Unless dry speach and no smile is considered personality? Lol). Maybe I caught them on a bad day. My visit was nothing special.

Everything was perfect

Food and drinks were good but pretty overpriced for what it is. Service could have been better. Waiter wasnt overly attentive and lacked enthusiasm. Was seated in the bar section. The seats were terrible and hard on the back. Overall decent experience but may not be back for a while.

The pizza was great. Pasta was subpar and pricy. The bar chairs were extremely hard on the back. The atmosphere was okay, would have preferred to sit on dining side. Waiter was unenthustiastic and made a few errors. We had lulls between drinks and had to ask for another. A little overpriced for the value.

Ripe was quite good. Came in at 8pm to snag a spot on their patio and managed to get served + finish everything just in time for closing. Got their tasty Vodka Ravioli (luckily got some extra sauce with it too) and had a glass of their Dreaming Tree to go along with it. All of it was delicious. Oh and their mushroom gnocchi is quite good too

If youve never experienced pizza in a wood fire oven before, then this is the place for you! They have a wide variety of pasta and burgers to choose from, along with exquisite deserts. The quality of food more than justifies the price, and the service was very friendly and welcoming.

We got the magherita pizza and the Killer bee pizza and both were delicious. The large caesar salad was recommended to share between 2 people and our waiter was correct. The salad was great too. Highly recommend.

The Tuscana Casarecce was DELICIOUS! The Putanesca Casarecce was also really tasty. If you love garlic, get the Tuscana. The Lebanese salad was disappointing though, barely any chickpeas, more romaine than anything. But the pasta was weeeell worth it.

Food was bad. Way too much garlic in everything. The bread was burnt toast and the creme brûlée was poorly done.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here of wood-oven pizza and pasta. Good, warm lighting called for a cozy atmosphere and our server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic in recommending his favourites.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing dinner here for our latest date night! Wonderful atmosphere and our waitress was awesome. The white wine sangria was the most refreshing I ve had and the calamari was tasty! I had the lobster and shrimp risotto which was delicious. Make sure to try the Chocolate Oblivion cake, perfectly light and decadent Thank you! Can t wait to come back!

I love this restaurant!! Ive been here once in person, and ordered twice. Their staff on the phone and in person are SO friendly. Their pasta is to die for. My favorite is the chicken Tuscana in the white wine sauce. We tried their pizza latest, the White Wizard, and it was delicious. The food is a little on the higher end (except maybe the pizza, if split between two, I found to be reasonably priced) but SO worth it. If you have a little extra money and room the Chocolate oblivion cake is absolutely to die for!! Once restaurants open up again I definitely recommend a visit, the interior is gorgeous.

As one of a group of friends, we were headed to a sports bar because we know what we re getting . As luck would have it, one of the group spotted the restaurant and was intrigued. We had an amazing meal served by the most delightful young lady (Mel) we could ever ask for. This restaurant didn t come up on our phones when we we looking for restaurants near our hotel... but it SHOULD have! If we lived nearby, this would hands down be our go to restaurant!!! Thank you for an amazing meal! I strongly recommend you come visit Ripe !

I was working in Sudbury and someone referred me to this place. I had the maple bacon pasta which was absolutely fantastic and one of the more original dishes Ive tried at one-off, family run restaurants like this one. And the sugar pie was to die for! The only thing was that it was a little expensive. Nevertheless, definitely worth the money!

Stopped in at Ripe for some drinks, I had the Blueberry Lemon Lavender Smash and it was absolutely delicious. Our server Taylor serves us quite often, and she was wonderful, as she always is!

House made gnocchi like pillows. Super attentive staff with extra care for allergies. Happy hospitality and a great Cab by the glass. From Vancouver, BC and will make a point to come back whenever I am in town.

Birthday dinner with another couple. Promptly seated, great service, music volume was perfect. Ordered the calamari and I had the lamb gnocchi! Absolutely amazing. The house red was the perfect pairing. Everyone in our group loved their meals. This is a cant go wrong dining experience in Sudbury s Southend.

Always love it here, my hubby and I and our 9 month old had a lovely evening out. Our baby was able to enjoy bits of each dish but we did bring him baby food for the bulk of his meal. They had a high chair and although they dont have a kids menu they certainly were prepared to have an infant in the restaurant. Staff was friendly and the food was top notch. Atmosphere is soothing and has a wonderful background hum of conversation.

AMAZING food and drinks! Vegan options were a huge bonus! Its perfect for a group gathering or an intimate dinner for two. PLUS the desserts will blow you away! Id give them 10 stars if that were possible.

The pizza is fantastic! We had the vegan and the margherita, and were so satisfied. The vegan has so much flavour that you dont even miss the usual sauce & cheese combo.

Unsure when they renovated/remodeled but its very cozy. Great interior design. Location is excellent for those coming from South or West of the city and want to avoid the notoriously terrible Kingsway/LaSalle areas. Get the calamari!

Very good food, nice atmosphere, great for family get togethers. The burger was excellent. Im not into sweet bacon so pulled that off, but the patties are made with real meat and delicious. Brie on a skittle, prepare to order a second one of those, haha. Very friendly service, thank you!

Culinary delight for even the choosiest clientele. A local establishment that prides itself in fresh ingredient that will not disappoint. Phenomenal pizza oven visible for diners to enjoy. Numerous upgrades to the dining area. The food is clearly distinctive in its fresh preparation. Quality through and through. The pasta is signature home made style as though made by Noni herself. Extension of the menu to include protein options for both meat and plant based diners would he both appreciated and likely to enhance repatriation.

When you travel a lot its hard to find good places to eat sometimes. This place is top notch and will definitely eat here again during my stay. Had the nonnas gnocchi and it was fabulous. The waitress was very attentive and took very good care of us.

Somewhat disappointed in the service we received. Waiter was not the best. We had to ask for everything. He was not attentive to our needs. Also the pizza we had was not the best...the crust was dry and hard. The place is a bit expensive. Will not go back there.

Such a nice place and the food is honestly SO delicious! The waiter we had was super nice & friendly. I highly recommend trying the aracini balls! 10/10 on all the food + the overall dining experience.

My wife and I dined here last night and really enjoyed our experience overall. We ve been here before and loved it and will keep coming back. On this occasion, we started with a Caesar salad, the arancini and a French onion soup. The salad was delicious. The arancini was served luke warm (disappointingly) and tasty. The French onion soup was also not very hot and, for me, it was underwhelming... very little cheese on top and not many onions. This was also disappointing. However, our mains were out of this world!! My wife s gnocchi was fantastic (according to her) and my Canadian stone fired pizza was amazing! It was exactly what I was expecting and why we chose Ripe on this night. Our waitress was polite and pleasant but not as attentive to our needs as I d expect. She never asked how everything tasted after we started eating and she didn t bring a straw for my wife s Caesar, and then forgot about it when we asked specifically for one. I had to get up and ask another server for one. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed dining experience except for these few minor things, and will return another time!

Fantastic menu! Interesting range of choices including delicious vegetarian and vegan options! Main dishes are generously portioned and wait service is excellent! cant wait to explore the starters next visit! The only sub par part of the experience: Dessert and coffee! The first being minuscule and overpriced, the latter being a tad on the burnt tasting side.

It was one of the best meals of my life. After a long, arduous campaign of wedding planning (the casualties could not be counted, may their souls find peace), my fiancé and I decided to celebrate (recover) with a proper date. Normally we cant make decisions, but that day it was as if the ghosts of our ancestors guided our drive down the Kingsway. Ripe Restaurant they commanded. Weary and shell-shocked, we stumbled into the door. Gently, we were guided to a quiet table and the healing began. We shared a starter of heirloom tomatoes, hearty toast, and a smooth, sweet ricotta. Every bite was like another distant relative sending a sincere apology, but we cannot make your wedding, heres a wad of cash in our stead. It was everything we wanted, but didnt know how to ask for. When our mains arrived, I swear I saw the light of life return to the eyes of my beloved. A perfect pizza was placed in front of her. The glistening of the cheese matched the tears of joy in her eyes. I had the mushroom gnocchi and it changed me. Each piece of beautiful, pillowy, potato pasta stirred my soul. My fiancé, who does not like mushrooms, bacon, or cream sauces, would have eaten the mushroom, bacon, cream sauce on my gnocchi like soup had I not defended it. All through the night the server apologized for being new, but there was nothing to apologize for. She was a server in whom no fault could be found. After a week of ruthlessly cutting out aunts, uncles, and I swear even grandparents should they not hold their tongues, we nearly invited her to the wedding. We even said yes to dessert (as children of frugal parents, this went against every ethos and edict instilled in us by generations of family, but hey, it was that kind of week). As the night wound down, the owner came to our table. How was everything? How do you tell someone youve never met that they have fixed you...that they have taken all the angst and conflict and struggle in your life and replaced it with food and warmth and love? Really great, thanks. It wasnt enough, but what could we say that would be. To summarize, my fiancé and I had the best meal of our Sudbury lives here at Ripe. I cant stop talking about it. I wont stop talking about it. Until we eat again, it was really great. Thanks.

Food and atmosphere were excellent. However whom ever takes reservations is always rude and doesnt give accurate information. We had asked about whether a certain allergy can be taken care of, and without asking the kitchen she said no. When we were at Ripe we asked our server, who went to the kitchen and asked the cooks, they said there wouldnt be any problem and they would take utmost care. A second incident with this person we tried making a reservation for Valentines day a couple of weeks in advance, she said they dont do reservations in advance and we would have to call the day of to see if a table is available. We called the day of only to be told what only had a couple of options in the evening closer to closing and was told we should have booked in advance...
