Rosy's Corner in Greater Sudbury

Extremely rude!! A friend and I were downtown today looking for a place to eat while waiting for her boyfriend as he had some stops to make at service Ontario and service Canada. We were looking for a specific place that I saw online but I got way too hungry and I started feeling weak, Im pregnant and was over looking and Rosys corner was right there so I said to my friend lets try there. We went inside, it did not look like how I expected and smelt musty like a basement. I asked for menus and asked to sit outside. I needed to use the washroom as mentioned I started to not feel well because Im pregnant and now starving. While I was in there my friend messaged me and said her boyfriend was done and came to to pick her up to go to service Canada. I was still starving but since my friend left I told them, I wasnt going to need a menu now. The lady working the place said to me, you will not use the washroom again, its for customers only and accused me of lying about ordering to use the washroom? Like are you kidding me? Why would I lie to use the washroom? Im sure any other business near by would be happy to allow a pregnant woman to use their washroom without needing to lie about making an order.... like there was a sceme to use their storage room of a bathroom. Absolutely ridiculous and rude. I calmly said to her, we were going to order and was trying to explain the situation and she was like I dont think so, and was super rude... I eat out a lot, they will definitely not be ever getting my business in the future. Right after that we stopped at Nourish for a soup and another place near by for a poutine and mushroom caps. Very happy I didnt give them my business. Rude and ridiculous! Being rude and treating someone who comes into your establishment like that just costed you a customer in the future, especially since if they wouldnt have treated me that way we might have been right back because we went to eat somewhere else right after that when we got her boyfriends vehicle! I was so stunned I had to come write a review.

Dinner- ordered Chimichanga and Quesadilla. Unfortunately, Chimichanga wasn t great, the taste is so blend not even close to the mexican cuisine and lacked flavor. Asked for Guac and Salsa on side but they ran out. Quesadilla was good. It s dark in the dining room no lights, not sure Ill be back.

Excellent food..

Quesadilla is okay, rice has no seasoning at all and the salad is just greens no form of dressing whatsoever. You d expect more flavour out of a Mexican restaurant. The serving of sauce is smaller than a shot glass.

Waited 1 hr got 1 of 3 orders asked for a root beer twice never recieved it horrible service

Best Mexican food in Sudbury and all of North America

Absolutely satisfied every time I eat here. Whether I dine in or take out. Their food is so, so good. The last thing I tried was the beef chimichanga and it was the best thing ever. Her beef is seasoned so nicely. Everything tastes wonderful and great prices in my opinion!

Ordered the guacamole app and the alambre meal with steak. The guacamole was under-seasoned, needed some lime and salt. Chips were crispy and good. The steak meal portion was just adequate. I enjoyed the meal but felt it generally also lacked flavour and the rice seemed maybe reheated. It also came with a bland salad with no dressing. With that said the restaurant vibe and service was very nice.

I tried this beautiful restaurant today. I tried the chimichanga and the soup. The food is really delicious. It s a must try. I received the best customer service, the owner herself made sure I received everything. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

Great, homemade Mexican food!

I had the enchiladas. It wasnt great at all. Its cold inside. The music is painful and loud. Its dark as no lights are on in the dining room. At least theres a nice choice of beers and a full bar. Maybe I didnt get the right plate and came at the right time, but unfortunately Im not sure Ill be back.

My wife and I go out for dinner and drinks and leave the kid with the grandparents every now and then. Anytime we can find authentic Latin American food, we are in. But finding Rosys in DT Sudbury of all places is the best part. We ordered the Mexican tamale. Legit. BOMB. So good. We ordered the chicken flautas. Unreal. Best flautas Ive had. Comes with a pile of guac also. Just a massive portion, and thats my jam. I love a lot of food. We had the churros. No mexican carmel which is what I was craving and the entire reason I came over from the Alibi. But, instead they had an awesome chocolate sauce and the fry and flavour was best I have had in years. Maybe ever. Honestly. We were going to go somewhere else for another taste, but this was so good we just ordered more. Taco El pastor. Its coming but Im sure its going to be the best Ive ever had. Edit: It was. To top it off, they had my favourite beer from Stack Brewing here on tap. IMPACT. Never had it on tap. Here I am at Rosys Corner, AUTHENTIC AF and cozy. I love it here. Best. And amazing value. Prices are reflective of portion and flavour and you should come here for some eats. Promise you will like it. I ordered another order of churros for the road lol. They gave me two sauces. I love it here. Tell your friends. Alex. If you read this, you should come here.

Cute little restaurant! My friend and I have often driven or walked by, always wondering what it was. Today, we decided to go inside. Great food and very friendly service

I did visit this restaurant. Portions are ok and prices reasonable. Unfortunately, the taste is not close to the mexican cuisine and all dishes lacked of flavor. I had tacos pastor, alambre, sopes and something else. Complementary soup was good. The restaurants environment is too dark. Service is friendly.

If you want Mexican in Sudbury, Rosys is the only place you should go. The food is delicious and authentic, and the service is friendly as hell. Make sure to tell them you like it spicy!

Delicious and authentic Mexican food and drink.

I had a piña colada and a cesar salad with chicken. The drink was a little watery and could definitely be tweaked so it stays blended better. The lettuce in the salad almost didnt seem cold enough. Maybe the meat wasnt fully cooled when put on, Im really not sure. But the bacon and chicken were absolutely delicious. Overall, I did really enjoy my salad. My daughter also really enjoyed her food. The music was a little loud, but only because I was sitting near the speaker and have weird sensory issues sometimes. The waitress was very pleasant. I like that they have vegan options, and prices arent completely outrageous or anything. I would take my family there again. Pic of my salad, after a few bites.

This place is magical! It literally feels like you re in Mexico I loved the food, Karaoke s, and staff (such a lovely family). They are super friendly and caring for their costumers. I had a great experience! Definitely highly recommended! Food : 5/5

Quite possibly the best Mexican food I have ever had (and I spent a month in Mexico.) I was here several years ago and noticed they had closed because of a flood. Boy was I disappointed. I volunteered to come to Sudbury for a work project just so I could eat here. If Im ever back in Sudbury, I wouldnt hesitate to come back to Rosys Corner.

The food is disgusting. Literally had to spit it out. Tons of filler, hardly any meet. I eat authentic tacos and burritos all the time, and I have never been so disgusted before.

In terms of food in Sudbury- this place is a hidden diamond in the rough. Right when you walk in you are greeted by Rosy. She makes you feel very welcomed. The food was extremely affordable- I got rice, a burito and a drink for 13$. The atmosphere is great, feels like Mexico! Rosy is always kind and smiling. I highly recommend this place to any foody, or anyone near Cedar Street. You will not find authentic, delicious and well-priced food like this!

This place serves fantastic grub, and Friday nights are pretty kicken for a little mom and pop shop. 5* for sure

It was okay when I went in there whoever was running the place was on the phone the whole time and did not greet me but took my order while she was still on the phone not sure if they overcharged me or not but for a chimichanga small rice and small soup was $27 Im not sure if I would recommend friends go in there but it is tasty customer service could improve.

The food and the atmosphere are as authentic as you could ask for, I forgot I was in Canada for a few hours The food and service were excellent, they even had spicy salsa ready to go, you just need to ask for it. Will definitely try to return in the future!

Rosys has a nice local family restaurant vibe, which makes me really want to like it. Positives: the churros were fresh and tasted amazing. The tacos I got were great Negatives: The quesadilla was wet and bland, just not good. The rice was bland and chunked together like it was old reheated rice. The salad was just lettuce and tomatoes without a dressing. And I ordered to-go and was not given cutlery

The only real Mexican food in Sudbury, ALWAYS delicious, HUGE portions, INCREDIBLE drinks, and worth every penny. The servers are so kind, I can t recommend this place enough. Even for picky eaters, it s worth taking the dive - and don t worry, it s not crazy spicy either.

Got nachos, and had the smallest amount of cheese on them (only 2 chips of the entire plate had cheese on them) and it was very overpriced $16.

Inviting restaurant in the heart of Sudbury serving up homey and large portioned Mexican food and drinks. The Indoor is simple and clean and outdoor is perfect for outings and gatherings, especially during summer.

Small spot, but no problem getting a seat. Great food.... felt like the food was coming out of a home kitchen. Seemed very authentic.

Got the steak tacos through skip. Really good. Pico de gallo was fresh. All around good meal. Edit: Ordered a chimichanga... it was frozen prior and you could tell. Must not be a commonly ordered item. Enjoyed everything else however. A smidge dissappointing.

Food was super delicious. I had the al pastor tacos they were so flavorful and tasty! Even the rice which looked quite simple was absolutely delicious! The staff were super nice and provided great service! Would definitely recommend!

Went on the Friday after lockdown ended. No seats empty on the patio, and a very clearly overwhelmed staff did their absolute best for everyone. Food was fantastic. Drinks were fantastic. Music was fantastic. We really had a great time!

It is the best place to have food and drinks in Sudbury. Rosy is the greatest host, her husband in the kitchen creates fantastic dishes bug and small to enjoy with the atmosphere. GO TO ROSY when you are in Sudbury. And the prices are the best.

We dined on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed both our meals and the atmosphere. They had lovely Spanish music playing and a selection of local and imported beers to accompany our steak tacos and empanadas. Delicious food for a very reasonable price!

My friends and I are at the front door listed as opened and the place is closed, bravo for having the decency to update the status!

It says that the place is open on Sundays until 5pm. I created an order to be picked at 4.30 pm. It was fully paid, I arrived for a pick up, just to find out theyre closed.

Impressed with the food every time. So were my Toronto friends. Service is amazing as well. Keep going back!

Rosys is a small, unpretentious, family restaurant, serving a selection of authentic Mexican dishes. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of gluten free options on Rosys menu! Rosy herself explained the many options. I chose a beef soft taco meal, which came with salad and rice, and a starter of chicken rice soup. Loved it! The restaurant has a simple but nice ambience, and reasonable prices. I would definitely go back again.

Honestly one of my favorite tiny places to eat! Food is authentic, staff is friendly plus fresh churros are always a win. If you havent tried it go out of your way give it a shot

Delicious dinner

Was super disappointed today. I called the restaurant up double checking if they were safe for celiac as it was rated high on Find Me GF. When I called they assured me they were safe for celiac, I said great Ill see you in ten minutes, the person on the phone said great. I got there at 1215pm on Saturday during their hours, ten minutes after my call, and they said they were closed. The fact I had to walk there and back in the rain didnt help. Was very disappointed I didnt get to try their food because I was honestly very excited. But it did look nice inside. Maybe Ill get to try them next time Im up in Sudbury.

This place is small but a delight. The tortilla soup was wonderful on this cold Sudbury night and the hubs and i split an encilada dinner and a chimmichunga dinner so that we could sample both. I highly recommend the tortilla soup!!!!

Want real Mexican food, like somebodys abuela made? Dine here. We ordered food via Skip The Dishes, and it came hot, fast, reasonably priced, and deeeeelicious. They even threw in an order of soup on the house! Definitely will eat here again.

Since a trip to the deep south I have been looking for that flavour in Canada. I had not found it anywhere in larger cities out west, or even here in Ontario until I literally took a chance when my wife and I noticed that Sapporo was unexpectedly closed and decided to try something else close by. Rosys surprised both of us with amazing food. Im no expert on authenticity of international foods, but this was the closest I have had to my experience in southern Texas after a long search (6 years and 25+ restaurants) closer to home. Now all thats left is to find something close to the best butter chicken that I had in Terrace (BC) and Tapas that I had in Calgary.

Unbelievably good food and margaritas. We ordered the al pastor tacos, beef crunchy tacos and two strawberry margaritas. We often eat in Mexican restaurants but we ve never had a margarita so good. The perfect combination of sweet and salty. We loved Rosys cooking, especially the complimentary soup. This is a must stop for anyone looking for healthy and delicious Mexican food!

We decided to do Mexican take out for dinner and were it disappointed!! I had the steak empanadas and my friend had the steak chimichanga. Both were absolutely amazing! The portions were huge, and we both have leftovers for tomorrow. Highly recommend!!

Chimichanga was outstanding, and the churros were some of the best Ive ever had, and Ive had churros in Chile aswell since thats where im from.

Had dinner here last night and it was amazing The reviews did not disappoint. My wife and I each had the tacos El pastor and the nachos is an appetizer.they even give you this delicious soup while youre waiting for your food. Excellent portion sizes I left completely full and the Mexican food was top-notch! Surprised the place wasnt packed, it was just my wife and two younger guys. A few DoorDash people and skip the dishes came in and out.

I am not impressed paying for microwaved food. Ive never heard so many microwave doors opening and closing. Very disappointing.

Best. Mexican. Restaurant. Ever! I cant believe how flavourful and just overall amazing the food us here!!! I have been recommending Rosys since I tried it a few weeks ago. I cant wait to try some of the other items on the menu. The atmosphere both inside and out make you feel like you are truly in Mexico. Love the Spanish music playing and the bright colours and detail on the exterior. I wish it was easier to get here in the sence of parking. Its so hard to park downtown- grr!

Rosys Corner is amazing. The atmosphere is very welcoming. You have to try the home made tortilla soup! I had the Chicken Enchiladas, which was amazing. I am from Texas and this place took me back home. The food is authentic and delicious. I also had the Mexican Hot Chocolate, delicious! Also I was in town for a week and went every chance I got! I loved that Rosy herself was there every day. She was helping in the kitchen and with tables. You have to just go experience it for yourself!

My experience echos many of the reviews below - the tortilla soup was hot and tasty, the steak enchiladas fantastic as was the alambre. Service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant has a colourful, minimalist vibe to it. What was worrisome to me though was that we were the only customers at Tuesday dinner. Running a restaurant is difficult so hopefully the rest of the day - breakfast and lunch - and week have better business otherwise it will be gone (and to be fair, I am not from Sudbury so maybe there is business to sustain the slow periods). I will be back next time in town.
