Vegetarian options: The chiefs will make sure of food allergies as well as gastritis issues. Will prepare for you so you can enjoy. Which is a change. Comes to the table and has a conversation with you and your family in the dining room. Ask of food allergies or any other issue with spices or certain different flavors. Then he goes to work and comes out with flavorful, hardy filling dishes. Was very satisfied when we left. Cant wait to bring the gang of friends. Parking: There is parking in the back.

Home away from home! Best home cooked Mediterranean cuisine. The staff make you feel at home. Don t be put off by the decor and location, the food and service makes up for it! During covid we ordered at home and Ali leant serving plates to us in trust we d return them. So welcoming and just great service. It s my grandparents favourite restaurant.

The definition of a mom and pop restaurant. Everything is incredible quality. I am not a big vegie in my meat fan but everything went so well together. If the only bad thing I can think of is the chair needing to be replaced due to being a bit wobbly its pretty good. I would come back again if I get the opportunity. Parking: Parking is minimal. Easiest if you cant find a spot is parking at the roads depot lot and walk over.

We showed up 15 minutes to close on a quiet night, and he still made everything fresh, including fresh hummus. He gave our kids mango juice while we waited and was so friendly and kind. Amazing food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere. Best shawarma in town!

I have heard great things about this restaurant but have never tried it. However, I was shopping for shrimp yesterday and trying to decide on which brand. A kind man came over and helped me, pointing out the more expensive product and explaining how they are worth the expense. It turns out he owns this restaurant, so I can contest that he buys only quality products to serve.

Terrible service, not welcoming at all. We came in asking for a chicken shawarma referring to their websites prices online and the owner told us that those werent the prices. Trying to charge us double.

We have been going to Ali Baba café since my brother first introduced us. We absolutely loce the food and the quality is beyond above par, the veggies are crisp and flavourfull, the seafood is fresh and delicious and dont even get me started on the risotto. The owner is a kind hearted and hard working man. Much respect to his work ethic. We ordered tonight and the food arrives so hot it is fantastic, he takes the time to foil wrap your takeout so that is arrives piping hot. Thank you so much for your fantastic food and service. Has been awhile since dining at Ali baba worth the wait has always great meal from the appetizers to the meal. Flavors of the Middle East like u were in a cafe on the Coast, loads of food with leftover containers 4 next day pricing has changed very little thouroly enjoyed experience!!!

I had the chicken curry medium. It was perfect.the fresh veg was cooked perfectly. The serving size was very generous. All of us in our party enjoyed our meals.

The portion size was good as was the food. I would have given this a much higher rating except for a troubling incident at the end of our meals. My meal was listed in the menu at 18.99 but I was actually charged 22.99 plus tax. So was my travel companion. I decided not to make and issue of it, but I will not be recommending or returning to the restaurant. Sad impression.

This is my 1st review of written about any restaurant, I did it because this restaurant gave me food poisoning. I read many good reviews on the Internet about this restaurant, So I decided to go in and have some Good Lebanese food, The outside of the restaurant looks like a abandoned building, the inside Looks like it would have looked dated in the eighties. I ordered chicken curry and chicken shwarama , they were out of beef, I could barely leave the restaurant without feeling nauseous dizzy, could not hear correctly or see straight, had to pull over asap. it wasnt normal food poisoning it hit fast and hard. Please dont take the chance. I shouldve known when he bought us the water and my cup was dirty

Such good food! My grandma had a gift certificate for here and I m glad she did because everything was delicious. I had the chicken shawarma and he was very accommodating of my gluten allergy. It was delicious with the rice, salad, and especially that garlic sauce! Everything tasted very fresh and sampling my mom s chicken Marsala and my grandma s lamb confirmed this. Would definitely recommend to anyone who lives in Sudbury or is visiting family like I was! Also, shoutout to the owner for holding up shop on his own

We were on the road through Northern ON and desperate for healthy, tasty, non-fast food. Found Ali Baba Cafe online, and though we arrived late, as they were closing, they served us with kindness and grace. The chicken shawarma was well prepared, fresh, delicious, perfectly seasoned with Lebanese 5-spice, heat was exactly medium which wed ordered, and the green salad was crunchy and just made. We devoured it in the truck, and were so very grateful. Staff and chef extremely kind and thoughtful. Portion size, cost, and freshness all good, highly recommend this local delight to weary travellers as well.

Best kept secret in Sudbury. Comfortable, quiet atmosphere. Owner/cook will cook to your specifications. Food is fantastic & huge portions. Try the bruschetta ! Seafood dish was delicious, as was the lamb. Will be back for sure.

The restaurant is older however you dont go there for the ambiance. The food is cooked fresh by the owner and is truly great. If your looking for something a bit different and off the beaten path I recommend it. Seven of us went there for my fathers birthday. The food was excellent, with a good variety, as we opted for family style. Having said that, it was a little more expensive than anticipated, but still worth it.

I had a bizarre experience at this restaurant. I went to visit Sudbury with my partner last month. As we entered the city we googled a place to eat and pulled up here to order food. The restaurant was dark inside with no lights on and very grim. Once inside we were going over the menu and we saw the shop offers two chicken shawarma wraps with salad, garlic potatoes and rice for like $15. That s too much food for one person so we decided to ask if we take only the wraps if it would make any different in the price. While waiting for the shop owner I decided to quickly use the washroom and once out my partner said the owner didn t like his question and said he ll charge same $$ for only the wraps. I said it doesn t make sense and walked outside. The shop owner came running after us outside and started cussing. I was so shocked and surprised, he started asking my partner if he s Muslim, and then said you guys are not true Muslims, where you come from it doesn t look like you know the meaning of being a Muslim . I asked what s the problem, then he yelled that we went to his place and used the washroom but we didn t order food, apparently that makes us bad Muslims. He kept yanking our car door open whenever my partner tried to close it. I felt horrified by his behavior, I don t know by what book he himself claims to be a good Muslim. His restaurant didn t have a sign that washroom is for customers only, also when someone visits your place they are a guest, where we come from we treat our guests with respect. My partner didn t even use the washroom, I did, and he made such a fuss over it, being a woman that felt awful! My partner had to take his temper tantrum outburst for no reason! I could have went to nearby Tim Horton s or a gas station. The only reason we stopped there because we had intention to get our food from there. Also, where I come from shop owners always adjust prices or side menu s or offer alternatives when you don t want a full combo order. Who eats chicken shawarma wraps with rice and garlic potatoes and salad on side??? It seems like the shop owner has a grudge against anyone who s not from around the area and hates to serve tourists. We will never stop by at this location again, he can keep his miserable shack of shop and his awful attitude to himself.

Very cute place, the food was excellent. Blackened chicken was excellent. Im allergic to shellfish, but the reviews of it from my table were exemplary. The veg was fresh, cooked but still crisp. Quite impressed.

All though the menu is on the small side it covers pretty much all range of pallets even the picky eater. Interior could use some updating. Small but always a few people in there, Not to busy. Food is very good,. Prices are a bit high but portions are very well sized and not skimpy. Its got a few odd mix ups with the menu but taste more then makes up for the confusion. White and Red sauces were both very well done.

Spectacular food

I went to Ali Baba Cafe for the first time and while I had my doubts as to how good the food would be I was pleasantly surprat just how amazing it was. The portions of food were so large that two of our party of four ended up taking half their food home. The owner/cook/waiter was very kind and informative. He asked us questions about what we liked and then gave us suggestions and descriptions of thise suggestions. I will without question be returning.

I went to this place by looking at its review. But I found exactly opposite to what I was expecting. I felt like they treat customer based on where are they from. He asked very weird question, you are not from Sudbury, right? He was right I came here for some conference. But does it really matter where am I from for getting food I ordered?? We ordered two chicken curry, he served us that on a single pot, which we did not expect because it is normal to expect two if you order two. The most importantly, he charged us more than what was written in the menu. The chicken curry price was around 18$ but he charged us 22.5$. My request is do not try to cheat people if you found them new from new place. Also I strongly suggest for new people like me to think before you try this place!!

My son took me here for dinner. The food was fabulous and reasonably priced. A real treat. A must if you are in Sudbury.

My experience was wierd.. We went in.. asked if the food was halal and they said yes.. took some time to bring the menus.. Then once we were ready to order they just said Sorry our food isnt Halal.... OKAY... Then why waste our time? You should know about this stuff.. Simply cant show ignorance to customers dietry needs and restrictions and just say yes to everything! If you dont know anything verify it first before responding.. My question was about halal.. someone could come and ask about gluten (celiac) or nuts... cant say yes to those if you dont know..Anyways.. just a headsup for people like me.. This is NOT a halal restaurant!

The chef and waitress saw an ice cream truck and ran outside, leaving me alone in the restaurant. 10 minutes later, they came back with ice cream cones. Cant beleive this actually happened. Thanks for the ice cream Salah, next time thaT happens its douple chocolate I want not vanilla.

The food is fresh, homemade, east Indian style, and customized to your liking. The only reason it didnt get 5 stars is that the decor is quite modest.

Amazing food . Amazing service ! Got the chicken curry , alfredo chicken dish and overheard everyone else who came in ordering shawarma so I reccomend to eat that if u dont know what to get :) the rice and grilled veggies are amazing and A1 TOP NOTCH SERVICE . The man who owns this place is a pro at what he does and is very friendly and genuine . He can help you choose a dish or even freestyle somthing up for you thats authentic and yummy. The interior and in house dining experience was very welcoming and comfortable.!

Awesome dining experience. The interior of the restaurant is so beautiful, despite the underwhelming exterior. Very friendly and quick staff, I felt like they really cared about me as a customer and were doing their best. The food was excellent too, the chicken curry was delicious. My girlfriend got the shrimp curry and wasnt as big of the fan, but she rather enjoyed the chicken curry. Might be a your mileage may vary location, but mine certainly went far.
