The place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are kind and the food is great. Also for a place so close to downtown there is plenty of parking. It's definitely worth a visit, or a few.

I made an order for a clubhouse with a poutine and garlic bread. For some reason, this restaurant thought it was acceptable and OK to put a put in smothered in extra gravy in the same container as the clubhouse sandwich which totally saturated the sandwich and made it like a pile of slop You can’t even pick up sandwich without the gravy, squeezing out of the bread, which I’m assuming Used used to be toast For the garlic bread with mozzarella cheese and bacon covering it, they also thought it would be acceptable to stock them on top of each other inside a takeout container to where it would sweat and mould together as one massive soggy piece of bread with cheese and bacon I called the restaurant to voice, my concerns and what the lady who answered the phone said, and shortly there after the owner as well repeated the same thing……. The only thing we can do to make this right is to offer you some advice. Next time you tell us to put it in separate containers, and to lay out the garlic bread side-by-side. This totally blew my mind, I even offered to bring back to me when I ordered it from Uber to drive from lively all the way back to Sudbury and take time off of work just to get a proper meal and they told me no The only thing we can offer advice for the next time you order ask us to put it in separate containers To me, it’s common sense you do not put Fries, drowning, and gravy in the same Container A Clubhouse sandwich Not to mention the fries were severely undercooked and you could taste the Russ in it. They seem to think that this is acceptable. Never ever again order from this wannabe restaurant, and the shameful thing is I knew the owner from years ago and as I reminded him that we knew each other, he said he didn’t care and he didn’t recognize my voice so he’s not prepared to do anything to make this order right again So if you’re ever in the area, you wanna order some food I suggest to call Mr. Jay’s roadhouse or gloria’s restaurant off regent in the four corners because this restaurant is disgusting how they placed their Food and how they treat their customers! I give them a -5 stars!!!! Totally worst experience I’ve ever had to deal with! As a restaurant owner, I hope you read this and I hope you feel ashamed of your words and your actions!!!!!!

Hands down one of the most amazing family owned establishments. The staff is so incredibly friendly and the food is top quality! Our server remembered us from a year ago, that's how amazing they are! I can not say enough good things about this place! I will come back EVERY time I'm in Sudbury! Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. If I could give them better than 5 star they would get it!

Amazing!!! First impressions of the restaurant was that it looked cozy and had a family restaurant feel. Like the recipes are authentic and possibly from a grandmother or relative. The smell of goodness hits ya in the face as you walk in and the waitresses are all very friendly! The food is to die for!!! 🤤 well done! I have a problem being able to eat and this food not only hit the spot but was made with REAL ingredients... homemade Greek dressing and the tzaziki is garlicky and amazing as well! Well done! I would definitely love to come back again. The prices are up there but the portions are huge and again the food is well worth the money!!! Thank you 😊 also had the baklava but unfortunately my piece did not have much filling and it was kind of hard. Unfortunately my friend will never try that again.

My boyfriend is a Sudbury s boy and we happened to be in town for a family wedding and I asked him to take me for breakfast to a traditional place. I was positive surprised to find myself enjoying the best breakfast with amazing bacon, fries and coffee. We also treat ourselves with delicious local blueberries pancakes. Had a really good gyro with fries and a big Greek salad. It was a lot of food for a reasonable price. The place was busy for lunch but the servers did a great job and delivered our food in a timely manner

Brother and I have been coming to this place for years, and it never disappoints. The staff are extremely friendly and makes us feel welcome everytime. And their pies are amazing, with several different kinds of fruit and cream options to choose from. Its always a treat to eat there. :)

Hi there, I came to your restaurant and ordered the special on Good Friday for $25.00 dollars. I asked for 2 pieces of fish so I could share with my son, the waitress did not tell us the cost of what the additional fish would be and it ended up being $22.00 for just the fish itself. At that point she could have told us it would only cost $3.00 dollars more for another meal special. We only found out when we received the bill. The waitress took forever to serve us, we made a reservation last week to ensure there would be enough room for a table of 8 instead of just showing up , the table wasnt even ready for us at arrival. I am from out of town, came to Sudbury to visit and looked forward to this restaurant. It was a disappointing time.

Food s amazing and great customer service, just takes a little long for cooking, for a not so busy day that I ve attended the restaurant in, it could ve been quicker service. They should also have more than one waiter at all times to atleast accommodate all customers on time so it s less of a time constraint for all customers who just want to have a nice dine in. Otherwise would recommend this restaurant, could just improve on the delivery service and atmosphere of punctuality

Gus restaraunt socks. I went there tonight because I had no lunch meat to make sandwiches. I bought an order of zucchini sticks to hen she told me it would be ready to go in 5 minutes. I told her I would eat it there instead. So she said they would just put it in a to go dish anyway. So when I went to pay for it the cashier said if someone orders something to go we dont let the eat it in the restaraunt. She said, Just let me check, and begins to walk away. I was so angry, Never mind, I will just go. I will never eat there again. On top of that, the zucchini sticks were bland and over priced. I will never eat there again. It is not the same restaraunt since the new owners took over.

An old time Sudbury experience. Not a fancy place in a nouveau part of the city. Really good food, big breakfast, lots of coffee, working man style. Server knows how to handle the clientele, keep them happy. Hope its always there.

When I wrote my original review, I rushed it and didnt give it the full review it deserves! This is a very qauint little restaurant and definitely worth the trip! Its a small and comfortable atmosphere that leaves you wanting to come back. The pricing was wonderful and the food was delicious, while I only had breakfast I do intend to visit again during my next trip. The staff were friendly and they know how to handle a morning in my opinion, theyre are happy and welcoming without being in your face like some restaurants and bonus they seem to value their regulars which is not something seen too often these days. Whether you live in Sudbury or are just visiting, I highly recommend giving Guss a visit. Parking: From what I could tell there were approximately 25 spots for parking at the side of the building

I got the lasagna and it was wayyyyy too sweet. Tasted like someone threw a cup of sugar in the sauce and called it a day.
If you want a mushroom omelette made with processed cheese slices and canned mushrooms, this is the place for you.

When I awoke this morning to Billy Holiday the magic of golden memories washed over me with gentleness and joy. When I chose to go to Guss s for lunch I was embraced by the familiarity of a restaurant where I was cheerfully greeted to sit wherever I pleased. Basking in the fragrances of cleanliness and home cooking I ordered chicken rice soup and Gus s hot hamburger and was immediately transported to my mother s boarding house kitchen. All that was missing were the five cent table side jukebox s.
Loved this place back in the late 90s. And its still wonderful with excellent customer service. I called today from Hamilton, to get my ill mom some home made soup, wonderful care from afar! Thank you Guss!

Excellent service and delicious food. We had gyros and salad. The waitress (I dont remember her name, although she did seem to be in charge) was one of the best waitresses I have seen. And I waitresses for about 15 years. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

Based just off Google reviews, we stopped by Guss on our way to The Soo. Ordered the deluxe hamburger and lasagna. The burger was just horrible. A dry patty on an even drier bun toasted without a drop of butter or margarine. For $13, its daylight robbery. Lasagna on the other hand was much better. For a restaurant thats been around for more than half a century, youd expect to be run with integrity and pride offering food of the highest quality. went for lunch w my coworkers, had the fish special, coleslaw was good, fish was hard and dry, fries were stale, and I had a water, the whole cost of the days special was 29.97 overpriced my coworker ordered a spinach plate and the plate come out cold she asked for it to be warmed up and they took an unusual long time to warm it waitress did not stop by or check in we had to call her over for more water and I had asked for ketchup and she never brought it so I took it from another table all in all will not be returning, we had good reviews from coworkers in the prior experiences but we definitely did not feel the service was pleasant or that the food was as spectacular as the price

This restaurant used to be so good. Ordered from door dash and food was cold and came with no cutlery, so no way to eat my coleslaw and no condiments. When I called Gus s, the man who answered blamed DoorDash. Won t be ordering from this place again.

I ordered a classic breakfast and was so pleased with the restaurant. My order was perfectly cooked! The food was so delicious and the service was so fast. Probably the fastest service I have ever received. Genuinely. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Its also a great local business to support. They have been around for years! Always and forever will be a great choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Food was alright, very polite and good, timely service. Ordered the gyros with greek salads and fries. Also ordered spanikopita. Greek salad came with store bought dressing. Spanikopita was sub par, idk what dough or pastry they used but didnt taste, feel or look at all like traditional philo. Overall, filling and good for pricing but no wow factor to be honest

Honestly I loved their service, hence the 2 stars. The food was deplorable. Everything was served to you prepackaged; pop, juice, condiments, food tasted freezer burnt. Coleslaw and fries were good but the fish looked like what I cook at home, fish sticks. Not enjoyable.
Great food and very attentive staff! My lasagna was cold in the middle and of course I didnt realize that until I had it half eaten. I asked to just have the remaining food heated but they replaced the whole serving!! Washroom was rather tiny though but thats not what I came for. LOL!
