Breakfast is ok but way over priced. One waitress who was chewing loudly came over to us while chomping and told us to go find a seat wherever we want. Lovely. All the empty tables were dirty or one inch apart from each other so unless you are Gumby and Pokey, you cannot not fit. Decided to sit in a booth with a dirty coffee mug and leftover crumbs. Yum. Wont be back with that service.

As a former resident of Sudbury, Jaks holds a warm place in my heart. Sadly, I think that s cooled over now. At 11:30 am, the business has locked their doors to refuse entry of additional customers. I was alone, and knew full well that I could have simply sat at the bar to order my usual when I visit. Not an option when denied entry. I was also concerned for the customers, if a fire broke out. As for food, I was hoping to have a better experience than the last time I visited, in March 2023, when Greek hash was mostly gnarled, chewy beef chunks. I really wanted to see if they have improved or turned things around, cooking-wise. Sadly, developments in professional behavior has soured my curiosity. I guess when I m asked where to eat, I ll just lament how amazing the Jaks once was, and recommend the many other breakfast options that still try to encourage business. Genuinely saddened to see them fall so low.

Jak s diner is true diner breakfast experience. It s pretty tight in there and not a lot of seating so we waited to be sat. The biggest issue was that we waited over 40 mins for our food which is a bit ridiculous being that it s eggs bacon and potatoes. BUT we were checked on and topped up for coffee consistently. The food was good, but didn t come out hot. they have a large menu with a lot of options. The portions were generous and the bill wasn t bad. The poutine style home fries were a hit! Just because of the atmosphere and options on the menu that sound delicious I d be willing to go back and try something else, just hopefully waiting over 40 mins for food isn t a normal thing.

I was there yesterday, soup and and a club house sandwich, $29.79 tax and tip, included. Too expensive for Me. The sandwich alone is 16.95 soup is 6.95.

Went to try this place today the service was terrible the food was greasy and you can taste the other food that was cooked before ours in our food waited 40 minutes for our food the waitress never came back to our table after taking our order so as we were leaving heres our waitress and cook outside in vehicle smoking will never step foot in this establishment again

Food was ok really small place overall for a quick breakfast its the place to go

Took my mother out to her favorite restaurant. I had a hot pork sandwich with soup as my side, and the other 2 people in the group ordered fish and chips. Food was great, server was polite and friendly. Went for early lunch (11:30 ish) so not too busy, but people started coming in as it got closer to noon. Place is clean and quiet, which is always a plus for me.

Unfortunately our poor experience is due to one waitress. We mistakenly took a coffee in from the outside. She was argumentative and rude. She publicly chastised us and we felt like walking out. She could have handled this situation far more professionally; perhaps she is in need of additional training. Personality and a sense of customer service is key in this type of business . We will NOT be back.

It was obviously a bit busy but so worth the wait the food was amazing. Service was amazing especially for being so busy!! Parking: Parking lot is a bit small when its busy!

Went on March 28 at approximately 10:20am. Sat down at the same time as another couple and the waitress brought them menus which is fine...but then did not bring us menus. She then proceeded to bring them their coffee and water..yet still no menus for us. She then started to do dishes behind the counter and do other random tasks and stillllll no menus for us. We got up and walked out and nobody tried to say anything or apologize.

Jaks always provides a delicious meal, and fantastic customer service. Every server is so nice and goes above and beyond even though they always seem to be run off their feet. Bathrooms arent the best, but I guess they are working with what they got.

Basically a huge plate of home fries with the smallest possible eggs and saddest bacon/sausage/ham and a really sad pancake. The cheap kind of premix, it had a rubbery texture. One side of pemeal, a chocolate milk, Two adult breakfasts and a kids breakfast came up to 67$. Great let down.

Great little spot, friendly staff, good food. Its not as busy as Coras or Tutties and has better food, in my opinion.

Great place for breakfast! Service was great! Not the fanciest place, but for a quick breakfast or lunch, just fine. For me, I found the price for two sausages, two pieces of bacon and two small pieces of ham, three eggs and hash browns at $17.00 was a bit steep, but maybe I am just cheap! I would go again, just a bit pricey IMHO. But so are most breakfast spots...may just be me..

The server (also apparently the manager) was rude and disrespectful when we were just asking for the whole meal we ordered (didnt want to give us the drinks that came with it). She was lazy and spent more time chatting with the one other customer than taking an order and clearing the tables. Terrible service

Classic Sudbury joint, best Brek in town

Wasnt busy at all at the time we went. The service was great and the western grilled cheese breakfast sandwich I had was amazing. Never had a breakfast sandwich anywhere that even comes close. Order one and I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

The food and portions here are excellent for the price. The staff is kind and attentive, tho they let alot of people in and it can become quite packed inside especially when their bathroom is down a thin hallway. All in all great spot Wheelchair accessibility: If the place is full it would be hard to get a wheel chair inside or to the bathrooms in a timely manner

Good, quick, cheap food. It s a little secret gem - it does get busy on the weekends but the food is worth the wait. Only negative is their coffee isn t great, but it is better than the chains up the road.

A consitant hit! Cant recommend it enough. Their hashbrowns and back bacon are so good! Breakfast sandwich had thick layers of toppings and was delicious

Hands down the best breakfast in Sudbury! When I was a child, I absolutely loved eating here. Now that I have a family of my own, its still my number one restaurant for breakfast, my kids love it too. The food is always delicious, the menu has so much variety, and the staff are incredible, always fast and efficient. You guys are awesome! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great local restaurant!

Came here with my family and friends for breakfast and they didnt disappoint. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was delicious and portions were fair. Definitely would come back again. Kid-friendliness: They had kids cups with lids and I very much appreciated it.

Small place and quite popular, but no problem getting a table for 3 of us on a Saturday morning around 10am. Staff is friendly, food is very good and portions are a good. They advertise their home fries as famous and they are really, really good. Will have to try a lunch menu next time. May very well be the best breakfast in Sudbury. At least they were on this trip.

My wife and I came here for a (rare) breakfast date. We loved it! Their poutine home fries are to die for. Mindblowingly good. And the portions are more than enough to fill you up. Service was good as well. Looking forward to going again!

Awesome homemade soups (had the ham/pea soup yum), legendary dinner breakfasts (had the Greek hash) and a gorgeous waitress ;). Check before heading out because they tend to shut down randomly for equipment failure.

I have friends in Sudbury and absolutly love the Pancakes at this place. Whikst I was here in March (a few times might I add, to the point where the server didnt even give me a menu). It your typical style diner inside, ans its clean and staff are very friendly. The pancakes are freshly made and delicious. Portions are huge as well and reasonably priced as well. Im back in Sudbury September 2023, so Ill look forward to paying Jaks a few visits again.

Was it a busy Saturday? Yes. The server stopped at our table plopped down some menus and asked what do you want to drink? We asked for coffees. Grabbed coffees and came back what do you want? Was her question. Ordered our food. Food came in and we eat ( good as usual) . Not once did the server come back, ask if the food was good or offered more coffee. When I attempted to make contact she dodged the table almost on purpose. Never been that bad for service. Probably not going back. Shame used to be a great place with good service.

They have amazing food and pretty decent staff. I would like the staff to check up at least once but I can understand when they are busy. They are amazing to go for breakfast and you should try their dill dip. Its really delicious.

I eat here often. The strawberry Belgian Waffles are simply to die for in their taste and texture. For a hearty breakfast try the NHL breakfast. I guarantee that you wont be disappointed. The back bacon , three eggs, along with a mountain of poutine style home fries will leave you feeling like lunch and dinner may not be necessary. The staff are friendly and very helpful, even though they work so hard. The place still retains the diner feel. I am loathe to ask them to stay open 24/7, but I feel I must. I highly recommend this restaurant.
