Lot 88 Steakhouse & Bar in Greater Sudbury

We ve eaten here multiple times and it s usually good, but this time not so much. I ve never orders from the kids menu before and this time I did; it was supposed to come with a free drink but I got charged for the drinks, and I asked for the red sauce on the kids pasta and I got the white. I also wanted the pasta as a side dish for the kids and I was told I d have to pay extra, but I paid the full amount and didn t get a side for the other dish I had ordered. They also had multiple Christmas parties booked and they sat us in the corner where all the parties were happening when we passed other tables that were empty at the time and remained empty the whole time we were there. Waitress was nice and attentive, just not sure if she s not familiar with the kids menu as that s where all the errors seemed to come from.

Absolutely amazing service by Olivia and the cooks, food and drinks came in short time and Olivia was quick and kind with her great work ethic and customer skills. Definitely will be bringing my girlfriend and myself here again! Parking: Medium size parking lot moderate for the amount of people in the restaurant

Lot 88 burger was very good , buf definitely on the greasy side. Wish the bun wasnt so saturated, also very small side portion so if you want lots of fries Id make a separate order.

Great food huge portions

There were eight of us, stopping on our way home at the end of the Civic Holiday long weekend, and we were all pleased with both the quality of food and the service offered. The concept of having your portion of meat cooked on a stone is truly surprising as we have never seen anything like it before... but it worked! Special thanks to John the waiter, we enjoyed his company!

Ive been going to Lot 88 since it opened and have had a great experience every time. However, I only write reviews when the service and food are exemplary, and tonight they certainly were. I was out with my family and had the privilege of being served by Jade. She went above and beyond: not only did she keep our drinks full, but she also showed genuine interest in my family. Jade took the time to get to know us a bit, cracking jokes that made us laugh and feel comfortable while she took our orders. Jade, this message is for you: great job delivering exceptional service! And to the cooks, fantastic job on the food everything tonight was exemplary. If you want to know who we are, the names Tessa and Alexy should ring a bell.

Our server Richard was great. I love the rib eye on the stone. Everything was Delicious, we even had dessert, and it was amazing.

The top sirloin on stone was amazing. I dont like rare meat, but it was so soft and not bloody at all. Mussels were also fantastic. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and both kids loved their food (one had steak med-rare and the other did the pasta).

The food was amazing. Easton, our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items we had questions about. Music was a bit loud and inappropriate for the lunch hour. They may have been playing a playlist, but I dont really want to listen to Cardi B WAP while eating. Lots of take home food.

I was here to celebrate with my family and friends. Being from San Francisco, California, I was excited to have good time, enjoy food. We were party of 6 and we all ordered different drinks and shareable food apart from Main course for everyone separate. I was expecting to have better service from server when we are spending easily $50-$60 per person (including main course and drinks). One of our main course plate out of 6 plates was salmon plate. One of our guest who ordered the plate had 5 bones in her first five bites. We asked server to check on it. Server kept on disregarding the fact the our guest didn t eat any thing from plate as we were waiting for manager as she informed us manager will be there to talk. Server came back 4 times to tell us there is no guarantee that there will be no bones in salmon, usually there can be 1 bone here and there but if there is more than one my manager would like to see.. mind it she (server) actually looked into the plate and counted how many bones are there in plate. We still kept ourself calm and collected that yes food industry. May b one bone left and manager will be here to talk to us. But No manager came to talk to us. Server kept disrespecting us and our guest as if we didn t know what Salmon looked like or how its prepared or how it should be after cooking. She had the audacity to keep saying the salmon is usually with the bones. Now I will leave other people/ customer to be the judge if salmon in such establishment are usually with bones or not. Because for me this was my first time ever. Due to server s bad attitude and disrespect towards us, we didn t tip her I would normally tip in California. After paying and everything. Server comes back to our table and complained that we didn t tip her well. In opinion she was not even worth if $5.00. If we dba afford to pay $350 for food we can pay better tip as well. It s because of her attitude and no show from manager costed her tip.

Quality has gone down since this used to be my favourite place to go... 2 times we had someone different approach us and try to take our lava stones away with food on them. The lobster wasnt great had no flavour at all. Got the lobster and artichoke dip seems like thereve cut back on the portion used to do be in an oval longer deeper bowl and now its in tiny round bowl we ran out pretty quick and had lots of chips left. Not sure what happened but environment just feels like your being rushed out the door.

Went in tonight (may,21) sat on the bar side and our server was amazing! Food was top notch. we love this place and will definitely be back.

If I could give everything a zero star I would. Absolute worst experience ever! Got there at 6, didnt get our apps until 7:30 and then our mains not until 8:15ish (when we ordered our apps and food at 6:45 ), we were a large group, so after apps there were lots of dishes that never got picked up. We had to clear our table more than once, also had to clear the menus because they didnt take them after we ordered. Often sat there with no water because the one thing they cleared were empty glasses of water which were sitting there because we were waiting for pitchers Asked several times (when the servers were ACTUALLY around) about the status of the mains for all the kids who were starving at this point. I dont even understand what the servers were doing the entire time all hovering over the computer upstairs while we sat there waiting for the opportunity to order drink, etc. During the meal, nobody came by to see if we needed anything and the food was disgusting. Brie was over cooked and was basically a bowl of pure oil, the fries tasted like rubber, and the parmasean crusted chicken was not crusted, it was a soggy mess and tasted really off. Will never be going back ever again and I hope nobody else ever has to experience this. I hope you will take this constructive feedback and learn from this and be better prepared for groups in the future.

The service was beyond slow! Our table was not ready despite a reservation made almost 2 weeks prior. My husbands appetizer was forgotten. We arrived before 6 (reservation was at 6) and we left at 840...we couldnt get out fast enough. We even had to stand around so they knew we wanted to have our bill so we could leave.

Went here for lunch for the first time with my girlfriend 02/24/2024 food and service was great. The mens bathroom has a baby changing station which is nice to see as normally us men arent given this at many other restrooms. This station here has the N-word carved into it. I find it hard to believe that there hasnt been a male employee to ever go in and use this restroom and notice the profanity. Based on this assumption, (and assuming this didnt just happen 02/24/2024 and I was the first to notice) I find it morally reprehensible that management has not done something to remove the vulgar language. You could scratch it off with one of your kitchen knives, or heat up a steak stone and use it to melt the first layer of plastic for cheap fixes. I expect this at a fast food establishment where the lowest common denominator of humanity visit, but not a place like this. If management has noticed this and done nothing about it, please consider flying a Confederate flag, or hanging a swastika outside so decent human beings can take their business elsewhere.

Very nice place. Food was good. Odd on the seasoning. But still good. Very good server. The only thing that Id request is. Turn the music down. Its loud and difficult to have a conversation. Unless table turns are the objective. Then dont change it and make it 5 stars

Our first time and last time unfortunately. A $44 steak should have some kind of seasoning on it, right? Apparently not, no compound butter on top or any seasoning at all, although the cook was perfect medium rare and tenderness was good. Mentioned it to the waiter, he didnt seem to care much or mention to the manager (was there a manager? Everyone looked 20 years old serving there). Kids meals mention free drink so we get apple juices for the kids and then stuck with a $7 bill at the end as apparently thats not a kid drink. If Im comparing to the Keg or Mr. Prime Rib, its not even close. Im not sure why Id come back over those places honestly, for the same price. Gimmick of cooking your own steak I guess?

This is the first time that my fiance and I went together. Not only was the food fantastic, but we had a great time enjoying the atmosphere.

Two of my friends and I went here for dinner tonight to celebrate my engagement. We called beforehand and were told we would be put at the front of wait list when we arrived. We got there and ended up having to wait at the bar. My friend who is in recovery, ordered a virgin drink and it was served to her with alcohol!! AWFUL. My friend was able to brush it off so we decided to stay. After waiting about 45 mins for a table; our server took our appetizer order and didn t come back until it was ready and it was ice cold. We got up and left at this point. Terrible service all around!

I would like to first say that our server Reckless was awesome and very personable. Food was excellent and served quickly. The downfall was being put into a small back portion of the restaurant that has very little ventilation or privacy especially for a valentines dinner for two. This room felt like it should be used for group gatherings and not couples trying to have a nice dinner. The three other couples that were also seated in the same section shared the same thoughts. We did asked to change the table when we first arrived. Unfortunately , they could not do that due to other reservations coming in. We were there at 3:45 for our reservation and as we were leaving at 5 there were still many tables that were empty.

The food was great we got a private area and really enjoyed our time. Only concern was that there was quite a bit of delay with each of our food. Half the group were served just when the first half was about finished.

Service was ok but food was an epic fail for the price. The tiny steaks were delicious but out of a reservation of 9 everyone complained about their food and one could not eat the chicken at all. Not at all worth the $150 bill for 2 people

What a disappointment. The meat is good, the lobster is overpriced for the quality you get, the sides are very basic, especially the mashed potatoes. Then, this mainstream music (at least put some folk music for my steak) is way too loud. while poker is playing on TV this is just ruining the experience. I guess this is what is expected for a north American steakhouse restaurant !

Had the Calamari and Escargot for appetizers and the surf and turf for my main (with a side of mushrooms). VERY good food and great service. Would definitely go there again and recommend it to others. Adding: Im never disappointed when I eat here. Had the deep fried cheesecake for dessert last time and it was amazing!

Went for the first time last night. Hot stone was an experience, but not something that blew me away. They really need to up their vegetable game. The green beans were practically raw. They arent good like that. Even tried to cook them on the stone but it didnt work. The add-ons are pretty expensive. Something like $4 for onions and $6.50 for mushrooms. The sticky pudding is shown on the dessert menu for $8 with a pic of it with ice cream. We were charged $8.50 and it didnt come with ice cream. $8.50 for a 2.5 inch diameter dessert. I wouldnt not return, but improvements could definitely be made.

Delicious food! Im celiac and they have a good selection of gluten free items. The staff was very friendly and the manager came by to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. Our waiter Reckless was fantastic. I highly suggest getting the salmon with maple glaze, yummy!

lot 88 is my fav!!!

Ordered pad Thai for a light lunch. The shrimp was not deveined, and the tails were still on the shrimp. There was 3 shrimp in my pad Thai and for the price the portion was not comparable. The noodles tasted mostly of ketchup and the lime garnish was shriveled and dry. The lighting needs to be cleaned as they were covered in dust, some of which probably made its way into our food. The waiter serving us was kind, professional, and efficient and made for an overall acceptable experience. I would personally not order anything other than steak from this restaurant.

If I could give 10 stars for the server I would. Our server Keenan was absolutely awesome. He recommended food items that I would have never tired, and we loved them. His attitude, his politeness, his knowing when to come ask if we were ready to order, how we were doing, recommendations, Hes great. No we do not know him, really, but I would recommend him any day.

I, myself, do not like the food at Lot 88 but it was my sons 24th birthday and he loves cooking his steak on the stone. He (& others) had the steak & lobster, other guests had chicken cutlets, my husband & a friend had steaks cooked to requested doneness and there were a few others. The steaks that were asked to be done each a different level were both slightly overcooked according to each guest. My son is a huge fan of appetizers but wasnt impressed with the baked brie or the artichoke did but really enjoyed the loaded cheese bread. I only had a glass of water that I ordered plain but was served the extra chlorine option (lol I am sure not many go there to order water but on the other hand, I am also sure I am not the only person to order water). The customer service was very good until it was time for the bills and we saw that appetizers and drinks ordered were just randomly assigned to bills. I didnt find out how bad this part was until after we left so the waiter was not asked to make any corrections as I am very sure he wouldve. The restaurant is very loud so not a place to go to for a quiet, intimate dinner. I am sure I will have to go back on occasion, which will be my sons birthday most likely every other year. It isnt a cheap restaurant but it does give the Keg a run for its money. 4 meals (1 with lobster & upgraded sides), 2 appetizers, 3 soft drinks and 2 dessert was about $350 with taxes & generous tip.

We ve been here quite a few times and every time has been great. My partner and I always get the same, steak and shrimp on the stone. It s so much fun, and such great quality food. If you re looking for a cool experience (especially the lava stone!!!) 10/10 recommend. The service is also awesome

First time I went I really enjoyed. This past Saturday we went and it was not worth the time or money at all. Order was wrong, food was OK nothing special. Dry baked potatoe w no butter just sour cream and a tiny piece of steak w a bunch of green beans. We had a bunch of different servers bc our server was barely around. The one girl practically tossed our appie at our table. When we went to pay the server didn t say thank you nothing, he just walked away from our table before we finished paying. It was not a good dining experience at all. Will not go back will go to the keg instead.

Food was delicious. We had no problem with the service ourselves . Sadly an elderly couple were seated and very obviously ignored until they actually got up and left. Was very sad and disrespectful to see.

Interesting place, steak was great. Lava stone keeps everything warm throughout the whole meal. Only complaint is that the drink glasses were so hot when used it made the drinks warm and melted the ice.

We had made reservations for 630pm, and the restaurant was very busy, but the host and server were very attentive and polite. A table was cleared quickly so we didnt have to really wait at all. The food and drinks were good and the atmosphere was nice as well. We will definitely be back to this location.

Excellent service. I had a salad and salmon. The salad was large and they put a very salty product on the salmon, which I had to remove.

Clean and had plenty of seating. Hughe fan of the oysters and all the cuts of steak are good, however, they could have a better aging process and bring in some flavour enhancements. Even an MSG and cask oak; would make a world of difference; but that is not to knock the amazing service and excellent food. It s more a note for corporate.

had surf and turf with my wife...bad!! my steak blacken (burnt) oysters $26 plus tax the SMALLEST I have ever seen the size of a quarter....over price, stick to burgers and fries boys..leave the fancy stuff to the fine dining restaurants. If you order liquor ask for it in a seperate shot glass ...

Service was great. Most enjoyed their food. However, all five people in our party who ordered the seafood pasta all agreed the pasta was undercooked.

Honestly the food was good but not great. Had a very excellent time with my family but the manager seems very rude. The wait time was a little frustrating and not once did management come and see how everything was. Definitely won t be going back for seconds.

Been here a few times now and its a great place to eat. Food is great and the steak served on a stone is a must try. Such a fun experience. They have a new drink menu too with some great options. Service is great and meal was ready in a timely fashion. Menu prices are in line with others especially with rising food cost but there are some reasonable choices as well. My only minor gripe is that the inside is quite dark. They seem to have gone for that Keg-like look now. Défini à place to try if you havent been.

Pretty good food.

We tried multiple pastas and different cuts of steaks. Both were delicious flavor and the steak tender and juicy. An excellent restaurant option for a night out!

filet mignon was good, tried both on the stone and grilled versions, both were tasty and well seasoned. Very disappointed with chicken fettuccine, creamy but not cheesy, greens were overcooked and had turned yellowed. portion was way over taken by the side of garlic bread, otherwise its barely enough for an adult.

It was my first time at this steakhouse and it was a great experience if you looking for somethin unique and very tasty this is a must try.

Went for supper after a very hard day working in the sun!. Server didnt know the difference between an oaked chardonnay or unoaked. Really? And she was also the bartender. Ordered Steak & Lobster ( were not cheap) and a rib eye. Sent my steak back twice because I ordered medium and both times it came back rare. Maybe the cook was having a bad day. Oysters were good and the Escargot. There are so few places in Sudbury that are half decent that we were hoping for something good for a change. Very disappointed.

Atmosphere was amazing, experience was awesome and the service was exceptional, especially after having a bad experience at another so called prime steak house.... Get a great server and the experience will be wonderful. The food is usually always on point. The service is hit and miss.

Nice open space for a special or relaxed evening. Diverse menu will suit any mood. Fair price for quality and portion size.

Was a bit of a quiet Thursday but had a nice time out. Service at the bar was top notch, half price wine by the bottle on Thursdays (!), and the food was delicious. Id been here a while back and, while cooking your meat on a hot stone is neat, its not usually what Im after. Learned that you can just have anything prepared as per usual. Great atmosphere and food, super clean, and friendly staff. Will be back!

I only gave service 3 stars because we were sat on the bar side in a booth. So our bartender had 6 tables plus 4 at the bar. They were overwhelmed and understaffed. Items were missed, but the customer service was very nice.

Brought family to this steakhouse and I didnt know what to expect. It looked super fancy and was nervous about bringing the kids. But they were so welcoming and interactive with the kids. The service was TOP NOTCH as was the FOOD! Could not say more good things about this place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for family,date night with wife or a social gathering. Kid-friendliness: AMAZING!!!!

Nice ambience, very noisy typical restaurant. The food I ordered salmon and um big potato and vegetable. Unfortunately, the vegetable was called and the potato was hard overall. A three is good enough thank you excellent rachels

We had Ethan as a server on multiple occasions, and he was fantastic. The food is ALWAYS hot, fresh and tasty! One of our favourite places to go.

It was a nice experience but there arent many vegetarian options given it is a steak house. That being said, the edamame and garlic bread were delightful!
