Mr. Prime Rib is always a treat. Theyve bin consistent with there high level of professionalism and quality meals since Ive bin going there way back in the 90s. Highly recommended.

I had the Winston primerib, it was delicious. The primerib sandwich was a great size and the sliced prime rib was at another level. Everyone was very happy with their meal. Would recommend someone coming here over the Keg if they are craving some prime rib.

Great food! We had the prime rib and shrimp & the chicken florentine, both excellent desserts were carrot cake & a crème brute cheesecake, excellent!!! Service was friendly, prompt and above ordinary, I highly recommend.

We were anxious to remind her of the fact that she was the reason we were back at the restaurant tonight. So good, even extraordinary, was her service that night we wanted the chance to let her, and now everyone else, know that. Thanks Julie. Youre super! Excellent, excellent, as always. Have been a customer for almost 40 years and never disappointed. Have always had the prime rib dinner and a few lunch specials. Very warm and friendly people provide superior service. Perfect place to take out of town guests. Highly recommended.

Weve heard nothing but good things about this place and decided to try it. We were very disappointed. Started out with the lobster melt, which is similar to escargot. It didnt come with any bread and the lobster pieces were miniscule. My main was the Austin prime rib, which is supposed to come with a bourbon demi glace. I got a very salty gravy, it wasnt very good. My husband ordered the rib eye. Looks like he got a butt end cut. It was strangely shaped and therefore unevenly cooked. We also waited over an hour for our food, as there was a large group in the back. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and I wont be returning. Overall quite disappointing.

Service was excellent, very warm and inviting atmosphere, never felt rushed, waitress was very attentive. However, I was not impressed with a few things. Eating out at a restaurant is very pricey these days, no matter where you go, from a fast food joint to a 5 star steakhouse, it doesnt matter. We ordered escargot for an app, and it didnt come with any bread, which I found odd, especially for 16$. It was sad we had nothing to dip into all the extra garlic butter floating in the wells of the dish. If im paying 40+ dollars for prime rib, I do have expectations. I found the prime rib was SWIMMING in demi glace. I couldnt even see it under so much gravy. It also lacked seasoning. It was tender however. The fact that the horseradish came in a plastic container really cheapened the meal. The butter as well came in those little plastic containers. I think there could be a much more classy way to serve condiments. I ordered sweet potato fries, which were good, however, I had the suspicion that these are not made in house, and come frozen. The dessert was wonderful, but again, not made in house. (I asked). I think that is something that is happening more and more these days - restaurants bringing in desserts and not making them in house. I will not go back, I have some favorite spots in Sudbury, and sadly Mr. Prime Rib is not one of them.

Dont ask for a wiskey sour... they have no clue. The atmosphere is suffocating and decor extremely dated. Service was good ...thank god! Watch out for the enormous pot hole in the parking lot. Food : 1/5

I was last at Mr Prime Rib on New Years Eve of 2023. As always the food was superb. A miss communication with a freind complicated our reservation, however they graciously accommodated us and saw to a relaxing and unhurried dining experience. Mr Prime Rib, comes highly recommended in my opinion.

Sam & the team at Mr. Prime Rib are always going above and beyond when it comes to food, service and atmosphere. They take pride in their establishment- and I can see why! Highly recommend whether its a date night, a celebratory meal, or a girls night out. - Its always a good time to support local!

Kid-friendliness: My daughters favourite thing to eat is any and all Mr.Prime Rib Soup, lucky for her mine is Mr.Prime Rib anything. Usually a weekly stop for us! Always great to be greeted by the owner Sam when we walk in. You can tell how much he cares about his establishment! Food

2 adults, 2 dinners. One was an 8 Oz prime rib steak and the other was a 10oz. Couldnt visibly tell the difference between the 2. They appeared the same size. The French fries look like they come out of a bag and fried. The crab cakes the same. The sauces are super salty. Small 10 Oz stem glassware for water and iced tea. All of this is fair enough in terms of served food but the pricing seems to be out of line. The servers were fantastic and food prep and service was quick. Everything about the place is really quite good except for the ol price tag. Ive eaten there once 10 years ago and the next time I eat there will likely be in another 10 years or when I win lottomax whichever comes first.

Been enjoying this restaurant since 1986, the dinner menu is still what you can expect, have enjoyed many lunches so definitely recommend as long as your budget can be stretched. For dinner I always have the Prime Rib, after all its the name

Its probably our fault for ordering steak a d lobster at at place called Mr Prime Rib. I mean the prime rib is probably great. The steak not so much the lobster not at all. Bland chewy steak and very very hard lobster. They did offer to remake the lobster only to make an even harder more chewy version.

On our 55th anniversary we had the best prime rib and lobster meal finished with a decadent raspberry cheesecake.

Dont waste your money at the keg... This place is the real deal. Support these guys any time its in the budget. Literally every is good, right down to the vegetables.

Wonderful food. The young man that is a server sadly has zero personality. He somehow always makes me feel awkward. The dining room needs a full makeover. It s like going into 1985. Food

This is my first time here... I took my son. He had a hair in his food was found at the end so we didnt say anything. We both got shrimp and steak med rare.. He got 3 shrimp I got 4.. his steak was cooked good mine was more on the bloody side but it was still good. Staff was friendly. With the prices of everything I was expecting a little more fancy not a stain on the table cloth and not a hair. Keep an eye on these things. I would have gave a 5 star if these little things didnt happen.

We celebrated our 55th Anniversary here. This is the place for roast beef done right. We had ours medium rare. Great caesar salad traditional! Our appetizers were escargot in garlic covered in cheese. Topped off this very delicious meal with raspberry cream chocolate cheese cake. I regret taking a picture of the presentation because you would be able to see for yourself how great it looked like and the generous size of roast beef. Service is great and very attentive. You will not be disappointed!

I love long operating places like this that are well loved by their community and treat their patrons like gold. Food was great, service was friendly and prompt. Their sandwiches and yorkshires are out of this world. Definitely our Sudbury dinner out go to.

The prime rib was very respectful. The service was excellent. The vegetables were prepared and seasoned to perfection. Ive been to real 5 star restaurants that havent perfected their vegetables.

Had a surprise 90th birthday party for my mom and the staff was fantastic helping us organize the room for the event. We kept in contact with them as the amount of people grew and it didnt seem to bother the staff They were very accommodating with all our changes. The food was amazing as usual. Visiting Sudbury for the week and was told by many of my friends to visit this restaurant and so happy that I did. Food and service were amazing. I recommend the Prime Rib Winston and the jalepeno cheese dip! Definitely coming back every time I visit the city. :)

First time here was very good, service was amazing and so was the food. We decided to come back and it had really gone down hill. Service was awful! Lady said she s been serving there for 30 years! She should retire because she did not care about her job. There was five of us and took off before the fifth could order a drink. Prime rib was good, lobster was over cooked and the onion soup was thee worst we ve ever had. Even the manager was horribly rude. We will not be returning nor recommending this place anymore. Adios

What an outstanding restaurant. Apparently it s been open since the 60s and I can see why. They are clearly doing something right. Great food and atmosphere. Reasonable prices and good service. An old fashioned type of place where good value and good food mean something. Our server Giovanna was attentive and friendly. Spoke to Sam as we were paying our bill and he too was warm and personable. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch. The prime rib is incredible but the other options look great too. Check it out you can t go wrong. Will definately be back next time I m in Sudbury

First visit to Mr Prime Rib and was very impressed! Staff was quite welcoming, friendly and attentive. Food was superb! The prime rib was deliciouly tender and moist. We also tried the Diablo burger which was amazingly tasty. Pricing matches the quality of ingredients. Will definitely be putting this restaurant at the top of our favorites list. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you havent already.

The prime rib was excellent. The Diablo burger was delicious. The Mediterranean bread was a treat. Added a couple glasses of wine. Very impressed with the service and quality. My girlfriend and I were very pleased with the experience. Thank you.

Meal was great , the Lobster appetizer smothered in butter and broiled Swiss cheese . Waiter provided prompt, polite and quality customer service, we never had to ask for refills etc. Only reasons for 4, rather than 5 stars, was because the Prime rib wasnt very hot.and was actually cool.to the touch when brought to table.That being said ,It was still delicious and we where really hungry so we just gobbled it up. They are also very relaxed about checking vaccination status which was refreshing. Give it a try its yummy. Highly recommend , will cost you a minimum of $100 for a party of 2.

Hadnt been there in a number of years but was referred by a friend to go back and try again because of the beef ribs and they were amazing. The garlic mashed was great the vegetables could have been a little hotter. My girlfriend had the burger and Caesar salad and she was very happy with it but will try the prime rib on a Kaiser next time. We both left and were satisfied with the meal and the price.We definitely will be going back.

In all years we have been going to Mr Prime Rib we have never had a bad meal or a poor experience. The staff is always top notch.

My fiancé and I went here for the first time tonight, and if we could give more than 5 stars we would. The service was beyond incredible, the food came out incredibly quick and our taste buds were very happy. The French onion soup and filet mignon is absolutely to die for! Cannot wait to go back.

this one star Im giving our waiter as he was nice. But the place is outdated, old furniture, gloomy atmosphere. The house wine was warm and tasted awful. We couldnt pass the appetizers. The stuffed shrimps were horrible, shrimps rubbery and the feta cheese just didnt fit there. The escargot was rubbery too. The price was too high for the quality of food. Totally not worth it. We left right after. horrible experience!

Overall a solid choice for light French and steak type cuisine. Not the best Ive ever had but decent food that is slightly overpriced. Meat was unevenly cooked which was a bummer for a 60$ steak. Customer service was excellent but slow.

Nothing wrong with the staff, its the owner. Not nice at all and 0 people skills. Never too late to learn a new skill. Nothing worng with not liking people, but when youre in this industry, you HAVE to have people skills. Also dont bring your kids here, yes they have a kids menu, but hes not kid friendly.

Best. Ive been to many places in North America and nowhere is better. Just get it plain with Yorkshire pudding and au jus.

My partner and I went recently went to Mr. Prime Rib for the first time. The first problem I had was choosing something from the menu! Everything was appealing. My partner started with the dry ribs, and oh my gosh! Amazing. The best ribs we ve ever had. They were crispy, nicely seasoned and so tender. For my main, I ended up trying the fall penne pasta (from the temporary fall menu)- it was the best pasta I ve ever had. My partner got a steak and shrimp, which he said was great. The steak was a little fatty - but gentleman that checked us out (The owner, I think) was so gracious and was insistent we should have told them so they could fix it. Usually, we re too embarrassed/shy to complain but we felt like they actually cared and it was no bother to them as long as we were happy. But honestly, it wasn t really a complaint because everything was so delicious. Also, Kathy served us and she was just the sweetest and most polite. The atmosphere was great, no loud music or TV s to distract you. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean. Honestly, I don t know how we ve not been here before. But we will definitely be choosing this restaurant over the keg, or any other restaurant for a nice dinner.

I mistakenly reviewed Mr.Prime Rib in Sudbury instead of Chops in Mississauga. Deeply sorry. I did eat here too. It serves the best Prime Rib ever and the Lobster was great too. In fact Chops pales in comparison. The waitress was awesome and even tried to make me a Purple Haze cocktail although it was not on the list. The management is always welcoming and attentive. The tables were always sanitized on every occasion we ate there.

Our host, Sam, was most congenial and entertaining and the food was excellent.

Second time around my partner said his prime rib was good, my pasta was okay.. drinks werent great, service was average. My first experience we both ordered steaks and we were both disappointed.

Excellent food, friendly reception and easy to make a reservation. Restaurant was clean and had an extensive menu that all looked delicious.

Sadly we have attended this restaurant 3 times now and have not had a good experience and we will not go back. Service was exceptionally slow, our waitress went MIA and we had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. Then over an hour wait to get our food, and my husbands steak was raw, returned to the kitchen twice and still not cooked. Not impressed at all.

We have eaten here multiple times and they never disappoint. The food is delicious and was fast to come out. The staff is all nice and we enjoyed the atmosphere. A near perfect experience. If I could change anything about the place it would be the building and sign on the exterior. It doesnt look like a fine dining restaurant and I had friends from out of town say they saw it but passed by without thinking. I told them that they had missed out!

Food delicious as usual. Table service was very unorganized. Table Not set before being seated. Food served and we had to ask for utensils and serviette.

The food was mediocre for the price. The steak was quite bland, the veggies heavily undercooked, and the lobster tail I was served was simply gross. The wait staff is polite, but we were not fans of the restaurant owner, who was behaving oddly and didnt seem to know how to communicate effectively or appropriately. Looking at other reviews, its clear to me that Im not the only person to have this experience. Will certainly be going to the Keg next time instead.

September 11th I had the chance to take my family out for dinner. We chose Mr. Prime Rib mainly because we knew from experience it would be good and boy we werent disappointed. Five persons and five different mains. We where all sharing the experience of each others. Best meal out ever. Great atmosphere and well run by a great Sudbury family. Many menu choices and pricing is very fair!

I m sorry, but this restaurant meets all the criteria for a Kitchen Nightmares episode. When we first walked into the venue, the owner was very rude and bullheaded. When my girlfriend showed her VAX Document on her phone, he was very rude and grabby. When she told him that she preferred him to not touch her device, he was very confrontational. This definitely set the mood for the entire evening. The wait staff were very polite and understanding, but the owner seems to be very argumentative, rash and rude. The decor is straight from the 80 s. When going to the mens bathroom, they use it for storage, and don t really care to clean it up at all. Floors were wet, Christmas tree was in the corner during early October. When at the table, our table cloth was stained with old food, menus were crinkled, wet, and stained with grease. Not impressed AT ALL. When it came to ordering food, the Prime Rib was mediocre. We ordered ours medium, but the order was clearly raw. My girlfriend ordered the béarnaise sauce prime rib, and the sauce came out crusty, cold and tiny. Barely covered half the steak. A few steaks that our party ordered came with kitchen labels of rarity still in the meat. My brother ordered the caesar salad, which was made with store-bought dressing and was drenched with sauce. Veggies were pre-cut, and tough. We will not be returning, and will be eagerly awaiting the kitchen nightmares episode.

Disappointing experience - Food was not worth the price, potatoes were lukewarm, meat was very bloody - was left a drenched plate after cutting the meat. Shrimp was very tasty and the waitress was nice, manager on duty seem to have a chip on his shoulder - didn t walk anyone to their tables just pointed. Wish I could say I ll return, but for the price there are to many other restaurants in the area that I ve had a much better experience. (Lot 88, the keg, P&M)

Absolutely amazing restaurant and experience. This was my first time at the restaurant and I will definitely be going back! The gentleman at the front was simply wonderful. He was so accommodating and polite. He snuck us in even though we didnt have a reservation which was truly appreciated. He checked up on us while we ate and answered our questions. Our waitress was wonderful and very friendly. The food was amazing, delicious and so filling. Highly recommend!

I made reservations for 1 last night. Upon arriving l was greeted with less then enthusiasm, asked for my proof of Vax and had to sign in. I was then seated at what had to be the worst table in the house, off the main dining room right by the restroom. When the server came over l asked for Ceasar, extra spicy. I watched the owner make it. No seasoning on the rim, no spices, no celery lemon or anything and served with a straw. By now lm not enjoying the experience but l thought, lets move forward. I asked the server about wine selections, if he had tried one on the menu and he said he didnt know about wine and would ask the owner, never heard back. As this was going on l watched the owner greeting clients who must have been regulars or maybe he judged me on the fact l was alone?. I didnt bring any of this to his attention as l had the definate feeling he wouldnt care. I said l had to leave, paid for my drink, tipped the server and headed to the Keg, where l go once a week. I had heard so many positives about this place but will definately nit return.
