Fieldhouse Rd, Humberston, Grimsby DN36 4UJ, United Kingdom
Smart restaurant serving steaks and favourites, plus separate 12-screen sports bar and grillhouse.
Not the cheapest of places to eat, but you are paying for the quality of the food. There is a decent range on the menu to suit all tastes. We have taken visitors from away here knowing we would get a good meal and service. The only downside is the car park is always really full, a sign of the popularity I guess
Our meals were excellent! Unfortunately there were three birthday parties scheduled for the same evening. Therefore the noise levels were very high. Wish they had a smaller dining room separately. Nonetheless this was the third time we’ve dined with them and the food was truly delicious!
Really nice ambiance. Customer service is fantastic. Every staff member that attended our party of 4 were really lovely, happy, professional (especially with tricky order 2 men in our group wanting beef and chicken together (ridiculous, yes I know!). Excellent wine offering. Prompt service of food in a very busy setting. The only gripe was portion size was astronomical. Really did not need 2 large slabs of good quality bread with soup, one was more than enough. Humongous Yorkshire puddings, and it seemed like half an animal on the plate. A smaller plate with less on it would have been better as impossible to finish everything served. Excellent quality ingredients. The car park is also a hot mess at lunch time we were lucky to find a spot. Certainly would recommend a visit very reasonable prices. Staff were a highlight, so lovely. 4 stars only for food as plates and portions size way too much.
Can not fault this place, lovely place, lovely food (had the ribeye), great friendly service, & good atmosphere all round, 100% 5*
Tried this place today and wow the steak was absolutely fantastic,,better than Miller and carter's and half the price ,,the ho.e made coleslaw was amazing, so was every thing on the plate,, realy nice staff has well so tipped her .Will definitely be back. X
I went to the Coach House on the 27th of April for my wife's birthday with friends. The food and service was second to none. It was very long winded to pay the bill as everybody wanted to pay separately. Everyone was asked to go and add up the item's they had ordered from the receipt then go back to join the long queue at the bar to pay. As there was only one lady taking the money for the food orders this took 20 minutes.
Great Xmas Dinner menu. There normal menu is brilliant too and I highly recommend the beer battered haddock and chips or the pork belly. They sometimes have lamb shank as well which is very nice. The steak is also very good. I haven't had a bad menu here. The staff are attentive and service is great. Be careful with 20% tips auto added onto your bill in the restaurant (although not bar side)... this is not normal for this area and they don't take offense if you have a big bill and ask to reduce the tip as this is not the usual percentage people pay in Grimsby. Highly recommend this place. Also they have very good beers on tap
First time going and was not disappointed! Food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so lovely there. Would definitely recommend and be back again soon
Nice ambiance restaurant with extremely overrated food. Burnt steak doesn t worth the money.
charlotte lane is awful and very inconsiderate when it comes to others
Coach House and food exalent
Birthday treat really pleased with the whole evening
Always amazing food and great atmosphere. Best roast dinner around!
Great food for a special occasion
Food and service excellent. Unfortunately, language of the people on the table next to us was awful so left as soon as meal finished.
WOW the best pub I have ever visited, so friendly, food was unreal, service was 1st class Kid-friendliness:
Pleasant and helpful staff. Food of the highest quality, highly recommended
Had a wonderful breakfast today 3/11/2024 fantastic food and ethan served me very professional and polite service highly recommend
Great food and good choice of different dishes
Didnt stay booked hoping for a quite meal for two the place was like a tex mex in Ibiza not our cup of tea.
Rubbish tables on top of each other.
Called in for a late breakfast, really, really good
Good food, brilliant for alfresco dining.
Nice family meal.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Coach House. The Lincolnshire Sausage and Buttery mash was delicious. Everyone in our party was delighted with the food. Really nice place to eat, recommended. Ill have to go back in the summer for the beer garden.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended
The quality of food is always at a very high standard.
Offers all you need... great food and drink. Restaurants with one being a sports bar..... great outdoor terraces. Food
Steak night was so much fun. I like my steaks rare, and it was cooked to perfection.
Sacked my sister for being too slow and a girl called charlotte has been picking on her since she started. Apparently when she wasn t there she had no problems but when this charlotte came back she got her sacked and instead of helping her they just sacked her for being too slowly what a absolute joke you guys are!!!
Absolutely the best Sunday steak pie dinner weve ever tasted. Always look forward to coming here. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended
POOR SHOW #VOICEFUTURES
Lovely food and lovely place to drink cocktails
13 of us had a meal for my sons 30th. The staff were amazing, the service was perfect and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Every single one of is enjoyed it, would highly recommend
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food & very friendly staff. Vegetarian options: Tasty veggie dishes plus some options for veggie alternative Food : 5/5 |
Always lovely food
Good quality meals and excellent service. Very popular for family birthdays etc. Food
Great place
We have been several times now and cant fault it, especially the outside area.
Fabulous !! Thank you for making a family birthday breakfast one to remember. You went above and beyond to make our day, as usual Smiles and laughter all round xx Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space and if you re struggling, they ll make space and make your time spent there worthwhile
First visit, extremely busy, noisy and had to sit at high stool table despite pre-booking! Not overly impressed, food on the expensive side in my opinion not sure why the place is so popular. Car park was a nightmare, double parking so very difficult to get in and out, terrible surface too, not in a hurry to return.
Parking: Plenty of parking at the pub Kid-friendliness: Kids very welcome, but not a lot for them to do. Food : 5/5 |
Great place for a spot of brunch, good choices and a gorgeous outside terrace where we could bring our dog. Would definitely visit again.
Lovely place, very spacious. The full English was excellent and our server was very attentive. I would highly recommend Food : 5/5
Staff very profesional and food , although quite expensive for a pub, was very nice. Must admit £29 for bottle of wine was a bit of a shock. We ate outside on a lovely evening so enjoyed the time there.
I might be biased because Im local ,but weve been customers since it opened 64 years ago and for it still to be serving us just shows you how special the place is
Had the Lamb very much overpriced £22.95 and we are not in America should not even think about adding a service charge.
Good service and excellent food.
Had Sunday lunch fantastic food very tasty.
The restaurant has a nice ambience and a decent sized menu with vegan options. The bar has a different menu, but again, vegan options are available. The bar is very much sports themed, with countless televisions showing various sporting events, which isnt to everyones taste. There is also a sheltered veranda which is a pleasant place to enjoy your meal on a sunny day. A service charge is added to your bill, but staff explain this and do point out it is optional and shared amongst both kitchen and waiting staff. On our last visit we found the food to be excellent, priced about right, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Booking recommended. Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options available and clearly marked on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options marked on the menu. Our server asked if we had any specific dietary requirements. Parking: On site parking available. Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu available in the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: All on the ground floor with no steps to speak of.
Food is delicious and their food is served hot, not just warm or a warm plate. Very nice. Many different dishes to choose from. We like red meat and red wine. And on that note, the only thing we missed was a dark, full-bodied red wine but there were lighter red wines, if so preferred. Very nice selection of red meats and their steak pie is excellent. It contained a lot of meat and was very tasty. There is plenty of parking on site as well.
Food unbelievable, waited a while to be served and thought we had been forgotten but will go again if in the area.
Great Sunday Dinner, four of us dined, very tasty, and great service. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility great for a wheelchair, we dined in the main restaurant, the tables have plenty of space between each other also, which helps tremendously when you have a wheelchair.
Lovely meal with family polite helpful staff
Me and my family had a great time here, the servers were incredibly kind and attentive, there was slight delays with food so they even offered a free complimentary bread which was amazing, the wait time wasn t long though, great atmosphere would love to come again
The food was amazing, with large portions and well presented. The staff were always smiling and happy to help. My family loved it.
The Coach House was amazing.Went today for Sunday lunch with my family. The staff are brilliant very welcoming and attentive. The food was cooked to an excellent standard and delicious. I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant and pub .10/10 many thanks. Food : 5/5
Love going here, food is always excellent n service is great. Good variety on the menu, well worth a visit
Effectively a steakhouse menu. Too much sugar in things such as the lamb rump meal. One of us ended up with food rarer than expected. Service didnt really asked how customers wanted their food cooked
Lovely thanxs
Steak is absolutely unreal! Service was good, welcoming, and friendly. Food
Go regular for impromptu family meals. The bar side is really relaxed and has a good range of food. Food is always fresh and tasty. Price reasonably. Its probably some of the best pub grub in the wider Lincolnshire area.
The food was lovely, staff were great, would recommend a visit.
Ate in the restaurant but have also eaten in the bar before, both times excellent food, nice staff, reasonable prices. Kid-friendliness: Good for family groups.
We had a lovely evening in the beer garden which is all table service with there friendly staff also with the added bonus of a gourmet food bar serving deliciousness personified. Will be going back there soon. Just had Sunday lunch, perfect! Food
Never had a bad meal here ever. Lovely staff, one of my favourite places.
Lovely meal and great service for my mams 70th bday last weekend. Would definitely return as kids ate all their dinner which is always a good sign!
Nice food in a nice environment
Great food, amazing service best restaurant in Grimsby Vegetarian options: Several veggie options Food : 5/5 |
Proper Food.
Excellent food at a good price with good service, job done. No trouble recommending, if it wasnt for Grimsbys road works despite the travel wed be there more often.
Good food but quite expensive for food and drink
Great food and brilliant entertainment. (George Michael tribute)
Great night at the whitney tribute. Drinks Great. Atmosphere awesome. Will be back.
Food is delicious but the wait is ridiculous. Over an hour for food to come out and then trying to pay was a mission. Doesn t make it a particularly enjoyable experience
We had the Friday fish deal which was delicious and good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. The only thing I wasnt happy with was the lighting. It was a bit to dark for a lunchtime.
Great food good prices excellent service
Food was lovely and we were served quickly. The 5% surcharge that was already enforced when in fact it was 10% with the waitress not being truthful, and not offered it to be optional. This meal was a treat due to being so expensive as it was, let alone surcharges applied to the bill without say. The coach house has changed from many years ago. I saw a review I wrote in 2015 very happy. Shame thats now not the case. Its left a sour taste and as a result, we wont be returning.
Nice food large restaurant good service. Slightly overpriced to my mind for what it is. This is not a gastro pub after all.
Rob lamberti just the best.... Food was ok... Drinks so over priced. Staff lovely. Will not stop me visiting again though.
Dropped in without a booking - accommodated with no issues. Food was standard pub fayre but was well prepared and presented. Staff were friendly and attentive +++ Food
Didnt go for food went to watch act
All round excellent cannot fault anything
Had a special, linguine pasta out this world ,
Was ok until some bully thought was ok for him to push me out of my place wont go back thats for sure .
First time been here tryed there ribeyed steak and I must say it was cooked to perfection served with chips salad and coleslaw mushroom and Toms all perfect, service from the staff was professional and very polite and lovely girls credit to the cheif..highly recommended

From
Lovely breakfast, ready for the busy day ahead
Thursday lunch before Christmas and only one table left at 11:40am!
Excellent food and service
80s night was Fab, great atmosphere, food was lovely. Would definitely recommend xxx
Love it here, always great food. Parking: Huge carpark but can get busy Food : 5/5 |
We went to the sports bar for the New Years Eve Robbie Williams tribute / Entertainment. The night was brilliant, excellent food lovely pleasant efficient waitresses. Thankyou the whole Coachouse Team Food
Always amazing
Never disappoints
Unfortunately a long hair was attached to the bread . They said the bread was made on the premises so obviously some one did not take Care whilst doing this. It did put me off my main meal of Risotto that had gone very thick. Would I go back. Definitely not.
Best place to eat in n.e. lincs fantastic meal with great service and lovely atmosphere Food : 5/5
My dads 80th birthday. Meal for 12
Amazing food.. the steak is unreal
First visit to the beer garden, food was fantastic if not a bit expensive. I would have give 5 stars except for the price of drink, 4.70 for a pint of larger, that more than twice the price of the same at Witherspoon. I expected to pay a bit more but seriously!!!!
Fabulous Sunday dinner. Staff service was also really good, it was busy but they worked very hard to make sure service was still smooth. Only thing I wasnt keen on was the lighting in the grill restaurant, it was very dark and felt a bit oppressive. This wouldnt stop me coming back though !
First time here, wont be the last! Great food & service
First time here. First thing I noticed was the big smile and warm welcome from the staff. Breakfast was lovely. I went for the full works breakfast bap - 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 1 egg, mushroom and 2 hash browns - which was lovely. The bacon was nice and thick. It wasnt crispy, though, so you should ask for that when ordering if its important to you. No hand pulled real ales but a couple on tap. Only problem is the price of drinks. £3.50 for a mocha and £3 for a HALF of IPA, which seems a bit steep. I wouldnt hesitate to go again.
Had a lovely birthday meal in the sports bar. The staff are brilliant and so accommodating.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access Food
Visited the sports bar for food and drinks was a good atmosphere very busy as usual we left it abit later for food but managed to get some loaded fries before they stopped serving food which were quite filling anyway
It was a friends 40th birthday Meal, service was quick & food was excellent, cant wait to go again. Will recommend thank you
Delicious food, and great location. Highly recommend eating here
Great meal Belly Pork with all the veg and genuine home made Yorkshire puddings Great service will go again
We were en route home but hungry for dinner; got a table straight away (after some debate between the young staff at reception). Serving staff were nice. Steak & ale pie dinner was terrible (most of the steak was gelatinous chuck which I couldnt eat as it was crusty/burnt/dried out & heavy). Pie crust itself was nice to eat, but as I gave my husband my veg, it was the most expensive pie pastry lid dinner Ive ever had! £48 for 2 drinks & 2 steak pie dinners with 1 additional chips is too pricey. Nice decor, nice staff - nothing exceptional & unlikely to return. P.s. PLEASE get the car park fixed - gravel potholes/divets were so bad!
Amazing experience, food was fantastic, like a party in my mouth. Service absolutely faultless. An excellent establishment, highly recommended
Great visit. Lovely breakfast. Definitely come here for brunch.
Best meal weve had out ever. Highly recommended
Sunday Roast excellent
Had breakfast. Good service. Eggs royal and eggs hollandaise very good.
Had an amazing night as always. The best entertainment by far at this place
The food was not as good as Wetherspoons we had rack of ribs very poor quality and after about 30 of eating it I felt sick we also had large fish and chips the fish was a standard size and very greasy the plat was swimming in fat the chips were just as you got from a standard chip shop, definitely not what was expected for the price, I would definitely not recommend the food we had, one of our party had lasagne and they said it was nice.
Really nice food for a reasonable price. Had a breakfast. Probably the best in this area if I am honest.
Nice meal
1st class as always. Exceptional proper food
The food was lovely the place was ok, we sat in the sports bar, but the staff was slow in taking orders, I would have understood if they where major busy but they werent and and they had 3 waiting staff on
Amazing Parking: No room when busy .. but got there Food : 5/5 |
Food is so good
Food excellent my rare steak was perfect, staff was a credit to the pub, outside eating area was fantastic. Parking: Very busy due to great food but plenty of space for parking Kid-friendliness: Kids meal realy good choice, plenty of space, great access for wheelchair Wheelchair accessibility: Great access
Food was good, shame there isnt a little bit more selection on the menu and also could be a bit more reasonably priced.
Nice place to go
Me and two friends booked the mamma Mia experience. As we are 17 we enquired and rang up about whether we were able to go due to our age and the person on the other end of the phone who works at the establishment said it was fine. We arrived and everything was fine we weren t at any moment in time drinking any alcohol, we just wanted to have a good time. Before the tribute band went on stage we were approached by a rude and aggressive man accompanied by a bouncer which was an extremely intimidating experience as we are three 17 year old girls. The man went on to say if we didn t have id then we weren t allowed to be there, which we explained we had rang ahead of time and the staff said it was fine. They didn t advertise that it was an over 18 event and doubtful I will get a refund for the money I spent on the ticket. Bad advertising and no apologies for the inconvenience and money spent.
Having eaten here before and enjoyed it we re-visited to celebrate mums birthday on a Sunday. It was quiet upon arrival but filled up rapidly. I ordered the French onion soup to start and as soon as it arrived my heart sank. The onions were not caramelised leaving the soup looking pale and anaemic with a cheesy crouton placed on top, not finished under a grill with lashings of tasty Gruyere as it should be. It would have made a very tasty onion gravy to serve with bangers and mash or toad in the hole but it was not French onion soup. The main course arrived and Id opted for the roast sirloin of beef. While I was pleased to see the meat was cooked beautifully the portion size was huge and overwhelming. We had to chase down the waitress to ask for condiments. To me, a yorkshire pudding is a vessel created to contain gravy which spills out once cut into but it was empty and dry. The gravy that was on the plate definitely came from a packet and was the same as what was served with the chicken, pork and pie. There was also simply not enough of it for the food on the plate. A separate gravy boat would have been nice. The stuffing was probably nice when it was fresh but mine had dried out and was rubbery. The other vegetables were OK with the exception of the red cabbage which was overly sweet (6/7 of us never ate it which surely should send a message back to the kitchen?) While I have previously thoroughly enjoyed the regular menu, I would not recommend the Sunday roast.
Food was fantastic. I had lamb and it was cooked to perfection.
Overall a good evening - good services, enough on the plates, quite atmosphere early on. Would definitely go back Vegetarian options: Easy to find Dietary restrictions: Ask if you have any at the beginning
Went for Breakfast with some friends and we re welcomed warmly and staff were attentive, quick with drinks and food orders. Breakfast buns were disappointing as the buns were not fresh and crumbled miserably. Drinks were nicely presented and overall the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing.
Lovely staff but far too loud in the bar on Saturday evening. Far too many drunk people to be able to say its a pleasant experience.
The food was lovely apart from them changing the chips which we was unable to eat because they was too hard been left in fryer too long
Great experience well looked after great food
The service was so great that it felt family run. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing too.
Outstanding food and service. Had a couple of extra guests arrive last minute, staff were super helpful to accommodate. Food : 5/5
I can recommend the Fish and Chips they were excellent.
Great food...
Great food and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
I usually have so many positive things to say about the coach house but tonight is the worst time I ve had there. I don t know if it is because its the first time I have been the the Dexter s side of the restaurant but the service was really slow, we had our bill forced on us before we had even had our meal but it was incorrect because we had ordered another drink but they had not put it through so when we said we had ordered another drink, she said that it wasn t on the bill so she wasn t sure and tried to make us carry on paying the bill, almost like she wanted us to forgot about the other drink we had been waiting on. It felt very much like they wanted us in and out yet everything had a really long wait to get to us!
Excellent food and service, 5* Fish and chips - regular £15 comes with curry sauce and mushy peas, very fresh and the chips are properly deep fried, Id have loved to see what the Jumbo portion looks like. The Lincolnshire braised beef was again very well cooked and seasoned, alongside this was a great selection of vegetables, a large Yorkshire and sausage meat stuffing, gravy was a little rich but Im guessing it had a good splash of red wine - £17.95 We had some bread while we wait which was freshly baked, the whipped butter was a great addition. Altogether the meal (bread appetiser, 2 x fish and chips, braised beef and drinks (3 soft half pints) was £66 including 10% service charge (which is well deserved as service is excellent) Online booking is easy so we will definitely be returning, the only slight issue we had was parking, clearly its very popular so the car park was full to the point its hard to manoeuvre, we did find street parking just next to the restaurant so no biggy.
Quick service, freshly cooked food. Not over priced. Pleasant staff.
Im a vegetarian, I had a salad with halloumi, the halloumi was lovely but the salad was a couple of cherry tomatoes a couple of bits of peppers and an absolutely hugh amount of onions.
Staff and atmosphere are miserable, Food was half decent but chips and steak were cold.
Great food Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free options available Food : 5/5 |
Food and service excellent all staff very friendly efficient Downside its quite expensive, 4x fish chips 4x deserts 1 bottle of wine bill was over £100 but worth it as the fish and chips were outstanding. Im not a fan of sports bars.... Vegetarian options: Menu items noted as vegetarian Parking: On site parking Kid-friendliness: Not sure Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure
Very enjoyable meal with friends, everything about the place was spot on, good food and very good service from all of the staff there with very good prices as well, will definitely be going again soon.
Nice evening with friends, food was ok but we got there for last orders of food and the chips were warm ish. Very good drink selection, and plenty of TVs with sport on.
Absolute awesome place to come and eat with the family . Very professional staff great food parking place is massive
Brilliant food, and amazing atmosphere would 100% recommend. Would be great for a date, or social gathering. Friendly staff and very attentive you and your meal. Chefs do an excellent presentation with the food too. Food : 5/5 |
This place used to be the place for food. £36 for a mixed grill? The menu is half of what it used to be... very limited and very overpriced. The menu is poor. Infact cafes have a bigger menu. The poor menu house Food
Food is always great both in the bar and restaurant. Breakfast is also great Staff always polite and helpful..Regular visit the place as such a great menu and have never had a bad meal here and we regular try different places to eat
Lovely burger and fries.
Great food and great staff
The Coach house restaurant, is very good restaurant in Humberston Cleethorpes, it has a large spacious dining area, modern contemporary style, with a warm and cosy atmosphere, it offers a good selection of food options throughout the day. The facilities and wheelchair access are good and the staff friendly and welcoming. It has a well stocked bar with a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits being offered. It has a separate sports bar adjacent to the restaurant with a livelier atmosphere this also offers a good selection of bar meals and drinks, and regular events. It has a 5 food hygiene rating, and credit cards are accepted here. Ample car parking is available. Food review December 2023. I had lunch with a friend here at lunchtime today, with Christmas approaching I ordered a two course meal from their festive menu. Leek and potato soup followed by roast Turkey as a main meal, both courses arrived after a short wait, and both were excellent quality, perfectly cooked and presented The table service was very good here . I paid £24.00 for my meal. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available. Parking: Ample parking spaces are available. Wheelchair accessibility: The wheelchair access and facilities are good.
We had a really nice time as it was our Viking ramblers Christmas ramblers party. The meal was lovely and the staff were really nice.
Great service , good food but way over priced now £36 for a mixed grill plus £4 for peppercorn sauce come on !! £176 for 4 people , no starters , one round of drinks 10 % tip Food
