Had an awful experience months ago. I had to ask for a different chair because there was wet food stains on mine. When my meal arrived, the gravy was watery, looked like brown water, and I was told thats how its made. I didnt get asked if I wanted to order a different meal, and I got a refund pretty much thrown at me on the table. Never known such rude and poor service. Will never again return to this pub!.... And now my memory is being questioned in a reply.... rudeness all over again! I definitely have the right pub!

Went today with my friend, we always normally go for a catchup and to have both food and drinks. But the service was shocking. We go find a table even though there was only about 3 customers in. The table was sticky. But we stayed cause we was too hungry. As we went to the bar there was team sat at the table. We must of waited about 5 minutes to get severed. The person who served us really didnt want to be working, miserable face, didnt want to even put a smile on her face. Very rude. The food was okay but not as great as normal. We then went in to the bar area. There was tables what needed clearing but still hadnt been touched at the time we was leaving. Think some of the staff need there attitude needs changing and stop being lazy.

I recently visited to watch the football. And it was a great atmosphere. It was an extremely busy day and I got served quickly and wasnt waiting long. I had ordered the beef burger and was surprised by the wait. I had received it really quickly. The burger was amazing. It was good to know I wouldnt have to wait long for a drink in the scorching hot weather. Definitely recommending this to the lads

Came here today for a family member s birthday, staff were friendly and helpful, all 16 of us enjoyed our meals no complaints. All food came out all together, also Mike was really lovely and went out his way to take my son s jacket to be wiped when chocolate sauce got on it so it wouldn t stain. Cant fault the food or staff.

Amazing service here this evening for my daughters 3rd birthday. so very organised with my booking of 16 including 7 kids, sectioned off in the corner with the doors shut was perfect especially with having a 1 year old walking around also didn t have to worry about noise from the other kids, food was pre ordered as advised by staff member in play area so wasn t a long waiting time for mains or puddings, staff was quick and efficient at serving food and clearing away. Made the evening very relaxed for us. Thank a lot to all:)

Took ages to clean table whilst we stayed for drink

All the food we received was delicious and the staff were friendly. Wait time was slightly long for a week day but was worth the wait.

Ordered 7oz gammon steak it arrived burnt and way over cooked the chips was super dry, My brother in law ordered the chicken and mushroom pie mash and peas hardly any peas and the mash was horrible and cold, my mother In law ordered the scampi and chips, and a side of onion rings scampi was nice chips was dry but the onion rings was lovely.

It s just going more and more downhill! The staff were bone idle; stood around talking or staring into space while tables needed clearing and wiping down. I ended up doing it myself. The tables and menus are sticky!! The food took ages to come (over an hour) and the toilets were absolutely gross. When you re taking a child into a disabled toilet for his extra needs, the last thing you need is a grimy dirty floor, brown smears up the bin, and dirty tissue paper and empty wrappers on the floor!! Embarrassing for Grimsby when eating with someone from out of town.

Came for tea here and had a good experience was served by a lovely girl called Paula that was polite and very helpful. Would visit again.

A return visit. Was pretty busy,was told there would be a wait. Had a coffee while waiting food arrived earlier than we were told. Very good meals decent sized portions and the staff were friendly and polite. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Ten out of ten.

Come in every week for the toddler group in the play area. Paula is amazing at what she does the kids love her. Could we have the group three times a week :)

They had what we wanted off the menu and cooked to perfection as always, lovely staff, always very helpful with our fussy eaters. Food was hot and well presented. I even forgot to order a steak sauce with the meal that they quickly added. I had a discount voucher for 40% off the bill so was even more impressive. Sign up to the sizzling app. Parking: There was lots of free parking spaces, so we didn t have far to walk. Kid-friendliness: Great with picky eaters and really good with the children.

Not living in grimsby now when we visit my mum we go here to eat . Food was nowhere near as good as it was last year. No chilli on a sat ,,, settled for fish and chips instead.The chips were hard , as if warmed up fish was lovely, the kitchen server was very attentive. Bar staff very slow , and the table was so sticky ., Made for a not very pleasant visit Shame its a lovely pub

Went on my own for dinner, atmosphere was nice, a few good options not available but I went for a burger which was really nice and a eton mess sundae, the food came quickly and was delicious. Would recommend

A good meal better than it was a few years back, the only issue I had was that the coke from the pumps was flat & so they changed it for us to the glass bottled coke, but it was considerably a lesser amount in it, but other than that, wed go again.

Went for a meal here the other day with my wife and 2 children ordered at the bar and Michael couldnt of been any more helpful. The food was good and they were able to cater for my child with a milk intolerance would diffently recommend the cricketers to anyone looking for a nice family pub meal.

What an experience! I had macaroni cheese and had the option to add bacon on it. It was a great big portion and came with garlic bread. My server Mike was so polite and made sure I had everything I needed. Such polite gentleman. Great service, will go again.

I went in for a quick lunch with my granddaughter today. There was such a good variety of children s meals and really good value. My granddaughter has allergies and the server Mike checked for allergies and made sure the kitchen were aware too, really put my mind at rest. Food was delicious, hot and great portion sizes. Good food, but lengthy wait and a very noisy restaurant. Don t want to sound snobby but this place is just what you d expect a chain restaurant in Grimsby to be like. Kids running all over, screaming as they go. Grubby floors and sour staff. Three stars for how tasty the food was, two off for the wait.

What a poor experience. Reserved a table as I knew it would be busy. Got there and had to search for reserved table to find that someone else was sitting there. Tried to get a staff members attention whilst standing at the bar but nobody helped. Literally 3 staff working. Place gives off shameless vibes Decided to just walk out and go to the Rose and Crown and we spent £80 there instead. Wont ever go back

Have edited this review from four stars to three.. previous visits have been fine but just had a takeaway service from just eat and it left me feeling disappointed. Two portions of scampi n chips with peas. Child size portions at the best and was charged £23.23 for it. Not only do they charge £1.95 for delivery which fine but they also charge a £1.95 service charge which I feel is not acceptable. What does this cover. Are we being charged for using the service.. very disappointed today Parking: Ample parking but we only live a few 100 yards away so walk there

Table was all sticky! Glasses had lipstick on. Carpet and the chairs looked like they could of done with a deep clean. Some customers loud and swearing in restaurant area we had a 5 year old and 7 month old with us. Food not brilliant.. service was ok. Cant say we will be visiting again.

I took my two sons and three grandchildren the meal was fantastic all of us really enjoyed our time spent at the cricketers. Jess served me and was very professional. Please let her know that we felt at home. The grandchildren loved it. Thank you

The table was ready for the time, in a relatively quiet area which we asked for. The queue for the bar to order drinks and food was long, with noone sure where to queue. When we placed our order their was only 1 lasagne left, no sausages left so the mega mixed grills were given 1 piece of bacon and an egg. (1 piece of bacon and 1 egg does not cost £3). When asked if the fish was haddock we got told Its white fish. The Caribbean skewers were well done. We ordered desserts, but again there were no Cadbury sundaes or cheesecake. The desserts were brought out our table hadnt been cleared, no effort was made to clear it. I placed the plates on another table. I know they were busy but the service was quite poor and the amount of food that wasnt available was ridiculous. We were a party of 9 who were all having a 2 course meal, but didnt in the end due to lack of desserts. It was quite disappointing.

Come regularly and today was just as fantastic as always, Sheena was an absolute laugh as always and service was second to none, always feel looked after and always have a laugh. Cheap beer and giggles, what more do you want on a cheeky Saturday afternoon? Also had food and wow, loaded surf n turf was amazing so thank you for that aswell. Will be back anyway but wow what a day

Absolutely worth 5 stars you can t go wrong with cheap beer and laughs from the minute you walk in to leaving. Always greeted with a smile and banter from Sheena and that s why I love coming here. My nephew and I came in on Saturday for a lovely mixed grill, with a lovely lady called Sheena serving us, my nephew had bad food allergies, but nothing was too much trouble for her she was fantastic! The manager of this place, a lovely lady named Sheena, is managing this establishment wonderfully. This is the place to go, or get a delivery from, for good old fashioned pub food. Unlike the other places, like Miller and Carter, and The Wheatsheaf Inn, not giving a toss about their customers, The Cricketers is now my go to for delivered takeaway food. Highly recommended 10/10. One of few decent eateries in Grimsby/ Cleethorpes area.

Turned up with the kids during the holidays to play in fuzzy heads but was told we had to wait as play session was closed & had to wait 25 mins for the next one to start??what ever happened to just walking in like you could.this nearly put us off going elsewhere so how many others does this happen too??before they do go elsewhere.

Wanted to take the kids to softplay and for lunch, when we arrived at the softplay we were told there was only 50 minutes left of play time or we could wait an hour and a half til the next session. No mention of this online. Went somewhere else!

Staying in Grimsby for the weekend at the Holiday Inn. Just got back from the Cricketers , misses had gammon I had mix grill. One of the best mix grills I have ever had. Well done all.

Unfortunately for us, there were lots of flies. This was a really bad start to our lunch. The flys just kept coming, to the point where we moved tables but they still kept coming near us and our food. Covering our drinks with coasters and our meals with serviettes it wasn t a pleasant time. The cricketers need to put something in place to stop these pesky flys. Where was the electric zapper? The tables were sticky, the menus were grubby and tables were left a while uncleared. I must say the food was nice, it s just the cleanliness of the place. The toilets were smelly too.

The three stars are purely for the customer service, couldn t fault it. However, the food was honestly the worst pub grub I ve had. I m not fussy when it comes to food, happy to eat at chains all the time. However, I ordered sausage, mash, peas and gravy and it was beyond dry; I had to put mayonnaise on the side just so it was edible. My mum is exactly the same as me and she couldn t eat much of hers. My two children had mini all day breakfasts and the sausages were burnt! Sorry but the cooks need replacing. It was Saturday lunch time and the place was quiet, now I understand why. Won t return for the food sorry.

Took my grandchildren to soft play area, and booked a meal in the pub dining area for 2pm for them, myself and my daughter. Used the app to order food and drinks. Waited about 20 minutes for drinks and then food arrived shortly afterwards. I ordered fish and chips, my daughter had vegetarian meal of sausage, mash and peas, and children had kids all day breakfast. The fish was dry (overcooked)as were the chips, very disappointing and I took the fish home for the cat, and left the chips on the plate. My daughter was not impressed with her meal and the children ate little of their meals. Suggestion for management, any chance of supplying smaller cutlery for children who you cater for. My three year old granddaughter could not handle grown up cutlery. Parking: Large pub car park plenty of parking spaces.

Was a great place to go, the bar man mike and the lovely manager Kimberley served us and couldnt do enough to make our dinner great and the food was tasty we had the burgers, the waitress could have been more pleasant however as she thumped the food down on the table and walked off which wasnt great but over all our visit was good thanks

Great location. Nice and clean inside. Meals were freshly cooked and served piping hot. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Only downside was at 8.15pm when we went to order a coffee after our meals we were told the coffee machine was out of use as it was being cleaned.
