53 Bargate, Grimsby DN34 5AD, United Kingdom
Classy option offers sophisticated rooms with en suite baths, plus a restaurant, a bar and a gym.
Nice room, very comfy bed and quilt; lovely pillows; a , spacious bathroom. Good food, we had an evening meal, of which the portions were really big, (my wife had never had so much Scampi on her plate). The breakfast was really good as well. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely hotel. Staff are brilliant, always really friendly. The breakfast is good, cooked is brilliant. Vegetarian sausages are very tasty. The lady who normally takes breakfast orders is very friendly and quick! Some of the rooms could do with a refresh. Gym facilities are good. Decorated for Christmas too! Bar food is really good and portions are huge. You must try the Grimsby haddock challenge
A very relaxing stay all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent as good as any top London restaurants. Comfy bed and a clean and comfortable room. Couldn't have asked for more. Very convenient for all of Grimsby and Cleethorpes. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again if I need to.
My experience was great. I stayed only one night and the staff were friendly and eager to help. The hotel room was to my taste--clean and spacious. If you ever find yourself in Grimsby and need a place to stay, I highly recommend Millfields Hotel
We just had the pleasure of staying here at the Millfields Hotel. All the staff are great, Gareth on reception is very helpful and as we arrived early evening we had a meal in the restaurant. The friendly and attentive Mandy and Lisa ( thanks for the recommendations ) made it an evening to remember. Not forgetting the great food put on by the chef!! The rooms were a good size, clean, comfortable and quiet! Great shower too! We would definitely go out of our way to stay here again! A big thanks to everyone (including those behind the scenes )for making it a nice place to stay!
Nice hotel in a safe location. We turned up extremely early at around 11am, which was too early to check in but they let us leave our car there for the day. We went to watch the football which is a 2 mile hour walk (we knew this beforehand).... there were a surprising amount of parks in between the hotel and the ground including one with a lake, so was actually a nice walk too. Even went to the beach!||When we got back to the hotel later in the evening, we found out our room had been upgraded, so delighted with that. Room was huge and clean and had all the usual amenities like TV, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities etc. Bed was comfortable and slept well (nice and quiet area). Both receptionists were friendly and enjoyed our stay, so would recommend if staying in the area.
I arrived at this hotel after a very long day of travelling, I was greeted cheerfully and checked in very quickly after which I was shown to my lovely large room with an equally large bathroom. The room was spotless, bright, airy and very peaceful. I unpacked and had dinner in the hotel which was lovely with great service and reasonable prices. After dinner I relaxed in my room and had a great nights sleep thanks to the peace and quiet in the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was amazing and cooked to order. Check out was efficient and Gareth had pre-booked me a taxi to take me to my meeting nearby. Thank you Millfields for a great stay.
The staff here are the most helpful and pleasant that I have ever come across . Gareth and the lady on reception Saturday evening particularly couldn’t do enough for us.|A quirky place walking by a squash court to get to our room but the room itself was a decent size and looked as if it had recently been redecorated. The food was very good , excellent portions both at dinner and breakfast .|Couldn’t fault the hotel at all. Extremely good value for money !
Fantastic hotel staff very good food great !jamie barman was so polite from moment we arrived !we will return
Too noisy and music too Loud no good for people with hearing aids!!! Food poor andDont order fish and chips!!! Need to have a better fish merchant. Service
Visited for an event, place was alright, toilets were a little tatty, not in line with their premium image.. Staff were on the whole ok - some were very friendly/ funny/ cheerful and generally excellent, but some did give the feel that they were not happy to be there, and were not especially accommodating. But for me the main problem was the cost of soft drinks... £3.50 for what I think was a 16oz glass... £4.37 a pint equivalent... Which personally I think is outrageously expensive.. especially when drivers are often enabling people who are drinking alcohol... I just dont think its fair...
Had the a la carte menu food was gorgeous and staff were lovely
Staff and food very good plus good value
Me and my partner stayed for our first little holiday - the staff were so friendly, the food was amazing and the room was great. We will be back
Great helpful and friendly staff. Very clean with ample parking Shower was so powerful and large bath. The family rooms were a great size with lots of extras. Food and drinks: Great breakfast and lovely staff service again.
We had not been for a few years, so we called in for tea, menu limited, but had something we liked, meals were hot and well presented, chicken and pasta and scampi and chips. Would suggest that the set menu needs looking at. Nothing tempted us, which was a shame.
Stayed last night for one night and the staff member Marie was more than helpful and was amazing with our child. Good food and a lovely sized comfy room. Thanks again :)
Went for a lovely afternoon tea in a group of 4. We were greeted warmly by the fantastic front manager, Marie. There was a slight miscommunication with the reception on booking about availability of halal food, which Marie went out of her way to rectify. She was so diligent, friendly and accommodating. The cakes and scones were delightful and the accompanying milkshake was gorgeous! Would definitely recommend and can t wait to visit again. Thanks Marie! Food and drinks: Lovely afternoon tea.
Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. Parking no problem and only short drive to Cleethorpes beach. Breakfast dear but cooked fresh to order but nice. Only suggestion is have d caff tea bags in room Nearby activities: Cleethorpes beach 10 mins drive or bus stops near hotel
We came here for a wedding and the food was good. The rooms are a little small for events but thats just my opinion. Very limited parking at the front but there is more round the back. We didnt stay so cant comment on the rooms. The location is on a busy junction.
After a bad experience at the old people homes on Cleethorpes seafront, I thought I would try a different hotel, very friendly staff, good size rooms and great food.
Great place to stay Food and drinks: The food is excellent. Fish pie was brilliant. Most of our group had the haddock and chips which was outstanding. It was their first ever time running out of haddock.
Its ok as a venue like I had been to there friendly staff Walkability: Walking distance to a nice park and town centre where there is shops and other places Food and drinks: Serves food and drinks inside
Attended a 80th birthday party in conservatory room. Nicely decorated, staff friendly. Buffet is possibly the most delicious I have ever had. Lots of positive comments about the food .
Menu changes regularly enough that it keeps you interested and has something for everyone. The bar menu is great with an exceptional fish and chips. The 2 course or 3 course menu is a different level. Well thought out and executed by a gifted team. We travel a lot and this is probably the best hotel restaurant food we ve had. Service is efficient and so friendly. They really can t do enough for you. The cheese and crab soufflé on the menu at the moment is the best ever but honestly, it s all excellent.
Lovely meal with friends. for a 80th birthday Food and drinks: Varied menu and drinks Service : 5/5 |
Great food
Fantastic welcoming venue and staff for our family
Accessibility to various parts of the building proved quite challenging for disabled people. Steps down into the function room and toilets upstairs. If there were alternatives they were not easily identified by signage. The main steps into the building could perhaps benefit from a handrail.
Amazing food, great service, can not fault it, thankyou for making my Mums lunch so special, very highly recommended.
Stayed for 2 nights. As we had a family funeral Rooms: Stayed in room 20 very tired and water running down wall from room above. Cracks in wall above window. Dirty carpet Bed was comfortable and nice clean towels in bathroom Food and drinks: Food was good. Staff friendly especially the lovely Lisa
We go regular on a Wednesday lunch time and have tried the Afternoon Tea aswell as the main lunch menu- specifically the sandwich and drink deals. We take different friends with us each time as they are all keen to try it after our recommendation. Food and drinks: High standard of meals, vast variety, excellent presentation.
What a Brilliant Hotel. Stayed over before travelling to Hull. Excellent Customer service. The Kitchen staff were very welcoming. Food is absolutely fantastic. Best steak Ive ever had. Room is beautiful and very clean. Rooms: The Rooms are just the best ive ever been in. Very comfortable.
Great staff lovely hotel I was given a very wsrm welcome. Chef makes an amazing steak. Lovely Breakfast. Clean comfortable room.
We have eaten out twice at Millfields and cannot fault the service and food absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for quality,
Went to a wake buffet and drinks good staff frosty
FANTASTIC HOTEL .. we had a refurbished redecorated room and it was absolutely stunning.. very very clean lovely bed and we had a great nights sleep .. we was told the manager himself and redecorated the room and all attention to detail was done .. and thank you to Tracey on reception who made us feel very welcome straight away and was very helpful to us at breakfast .. and breakfast was perfect thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay X
I didnt use the hotel, i was with work colleagues for Christmas dinner at this place. Dinner was delicious, staff very friendly- i definitely will be coming for a meal again. % recommended!
Went to a friends wake, food was good, clean room, staff showed respect
ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS . GREAT SERVICE VERY PROFESSIONAL STAFF VERY SMART / POLITE AND HELPFUL .
We booked a room as we were going to a Military Veterans Christmas Party that was being held around the corner in a local pub. Had booked the room through a booking app and had requested a room with a bath as I require one due to a health condition. Was advised that would be no problem and they would make sure we were allocated one. Unfortunately when we turned up d given the room key we were given a room with only a shower. The hotel was also very busy. Fortunately the lady on the desk when she looked at my reservation saw that I had indeed asked for a room with a bath and was promised one eventually found us the last room with one and transferred us over. Hence I am not marking them down as it was rectified quickly. We dont book any hotel rooms without a bath Thats how important it is to us. Once in our new room we found it to be spacious and well laid out. It was also spotlessly clean and at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet. Was also nice to see that they provided a non slip bath mat so that you didnt he an accident slipping in the bath. The bed was lovely and comfortable with nice linen and good blackout blinds and curtains on the window. The bar was reasonably stocked for most people. However I dont drink and I cant drink Pepsi Max or diet drinks as I react to certain sweetners. As my body cant deal with them. There were not many drinks behind the bar that I could have as the drinks on the pump all had the sweetners in that I cant have. I ended up having to have a J2O, as that was the only drink with sweetner that my body can deal with. Just made sure I took headache tablets to help me deal with the side effects from drinking it. The bar staff have said in future when we stay there let them know what I can drink and they will get some of the drinks in for me. The reason they dont normally stock the drinks is because of the sugar tax. So if you are thinking about staying in Grimsby then it is worth Staying at this Hotel. You will be well looked after. Also if you have dietary needs around your drinks let them know and they will try to accommodate. Thank you for your hospitality and looking after us during our stay. Wishing you all a Prosperous New Year. Take care.
Really friendly staff, nice breakfast and a good location with EV charging. The rooms are quite dated and a refit to more modern standards would be nice.
We came for afternoon tea, unfortunately they were short staffed so the service was a little slow but the food was excellent!!
Good location. Tea room is very pleasant. Fast EV charger in car park
Lovely welcoming staff, very accommodating, doing a great job. Room was spacious, clean and warm. The TOWELS ARE AMAZING...Id stay again, just for those! Xxx
I didnt stay at Millfields today, I only called in for a coffee & catch up with my friend. The staff are always lovely, polite & friendly.
restraunt and service good ,bar drinks and food just to expencive ,I took two of my friends for a meal , fish and chips ok , the steak meals my friends had where disgusting for the price ,so sad to say I would not go again far to expencive
We booked Millfields Hotel for my mums wake on 2nd February 2023 and although the food was lovely, there was no where near enough for the 70 quest that we paid for. I make more than that for a Christmas buffet. There were an assortment of sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, scampi, potato wedges, and that was it for the savoury selection, well the cakes were even worse, there were scones (they were dry) with jam on and of all things, squirty cream, you would think that for £980 you would get fresh or clotted cream. There was the poppy seed cake loaf thing and a strawberry coconut loaf, that was nice but they were both sliced so thin that you couldnt pick it up as a slice. I would advice anyone to think twice before booking here. The room was lovely and as I said we paid for 70 people, oh but they only have seating for 60, yet still very happy to take money for 70. They did find 3 more chairs. The tea and coffee was very nice, except we had to keep asking for it to be refilled and for more cups. I did say to the woman behind the bar, if they were bringing anymore food our and she replied no thats it. I said that it was poor and no where near enough. And she replied you had a lot more that 70 guest, we didnt as we had 65 at the Crematorium and they didn t all go to the wake. I have emailed millfields but they have chosen to ignore me. So overall very disappointed, the guest couldnt believe that we paid £980 for what little food and not enough seating, or made a difficult day much worse. It made it seem like I had a cheapscape send off for my Mum.!!
As I travel for work and stay in many places in the UK, I have to say this one of the best hotels I ve stayed in. I do stay in various places. So let me say first and foremost Karl ( I haven t met him) is the chef here. The food is amazing. I felt it s like fine dining but in a relaxed and friendly hotel. The trick is to present fewer choices, than say a weather spoons, but do it well and Karl exceeds this with the choice of dishes at very reasonable price for what you eat. Thank You. The staff here are very personable and so professional, polite and attentive. Thank You. The rooms are serviced well. The gym is really well equipped, I was surprised but everything is available (for a good weight Trg session), they have squash court which seems very popular as well. I m lucky enough to come back here with work and look forward to my next stay.
Went to book afternoon tea for A 60th birthday celebration
A bad experience. Not made welcome.
Visited for our mums wake. Lovely staff very caring.
Stayed in rafters suite which was nice and spacious. Old hotel so expected a few minor issues like poor water pressure. Staff were very nice and helpful. The food at the wedding was delicious and a well stocked bar with cask ales too.
Went for a meal just recently and I was very disappointed. We had a pre order as we were a group. The service was ok but the meals were disappointing. I had the ribeye and it was overdone and tough with a lot of gristle. One of our group had the chicken supreme and it was very small and didn t come with veg, upon asking, the answer was that veg wasn t ordered as it was a side dish and an additional cost was required. The restaurant manager did come over but just said she would relay the comments to the chef. We had no feed back thereafter. The entrance to the reception is tired and the toilets need upgrading. Not the best experience.
Lovely hotel, room had everything needed, most of staff were lovely and welcoming throughout our 2 night stay ,unfortunately on our check out morning we wasnt impressed we stayed for breakfast for 1st time and felt like outcast with a diving movable wall between us and rest of room
Every time I visit Grimsby I stay at this hotel. Always great service Rooms are nice and clean Beds are very comfortable Definitely the best hotel in Grimsby
hotel itself is ok, the rooms are abit dated and could do with a general spruce up but they are not a bad price, the food is expensive for what it is, staff very friendly and helpful. its ok to get ya head down.
I was in Grimsby for work, this hotel provided excellent service and the evening meals were top notch
We only went to the grounds to use the BP pulse car charger. Dont think that many people realise that its there.
Best fish and chips in town
A beautiful old building. Fabulous food only the toilets could do with a make over
21st Birthday Party. From the initial booking my mother made to the end of my party the staff was wonderful. Every guest commented on how beautiful the room we had booked was and are still raving about the delicious food provided. Thank you Millfield Hotel for making my 21st birthday as special as possible
Brilliant venue for the wedding I recently attended great meal brilliant attentive friendly staff.
A well situated hotel, food is lovely but slightly on the expensive side. Rooms and the hotel itslf are dated and could do with a bit of a spruce. For a one night business trip this was no issue though. The gym is one of the best equipped for a hotel for this size Ive seen, with plenty of equipment. Finally, the staff were the best part, lovely bunch and felt very welcome
Great food in the restaurant ! Meal visit only. Noteworthy details: Didnt stay, just ate a celebration meal !!
We have just had our wedding reception at Millfields hotel and everything was perfect! Marie and the team were so organised. The venue was beautiful, the food was faultless and everyone had a great time! Some of the family members stayed at the hotel over the weekend and all received great service throughout. Thank you all for making our big day so good
Excellent place for food , drinks or a stop over 5*
What does very happy complained twice saying the heating wasn t working in the room 21 they said it should come on about 9:30. I asked him what is the problem and they said the heating is on the timer bit strange for a hotel bus nevertheless by 3 o clock in the morning, I ve woke up quite cold, I went down to reception around 730 and the guy came to the room with me said it was a bit chilly. He will look into this and sort it out then I waited over 8 to 9 days called four times no reply on the fifth call, I got a hold of somebody said there is a manager And then she spoke to me and said that the heating was okay and everything was fine. I explained my case and it was a complete waste of time very lack of people skills very obsess and for the money side of it very poor value not one bit happy
Posh and expensive, ot our cup of tea Food and drinks: Drinks expensive , overpriced Location : 1/5 Hotel highlights
Went here for a wake. Looked after us really well. Food was excellent and the bar well stocked with 2 real ales available.
Wonderful Hotel. Rooms: Huge room. Rooms : 5/5 |
Really great scampi x
Great little hotel, food is superb Food and drinks: Superb food Rooms : 5/5 |
A great place for morning coffee
This hotel is really lovely.Service for our meal was prompt and very friendly. No issues there at all. The food we thought was excellent. Both starters and mains were well presented and absolutely delicious. It was very quiet there, as Im sure with a fuller restaurant the ambiance would have been more vibrant. All in all, the food , service, and prices were very good. I would recommend this place for a nice couples meal.
Amazing stay in Grimsby. A lovely 18th century listed building with a nifty little gym and relaxing steam room. Squash courts, too. The rooms were clean and kittee out with everything you could possibly need whilst away. ALL of the staff were extremely attentive, approachable, friendly, and very helpful. Jamie, the manager, is very dedicated and like 100% of the other staff members, made sure my stay was as nice as possible. The location is not too busy and not too quiet. A perfect blend. A lovely park with a man made lake is just a stones throw away, and the train station isnt even a 10 minute walk, which was very handy. Now, the food!! I will let the pics I have provided, do the talking! Not much more needs to be said about that. Tasted exactly how it looked......bleeding LOVELY!! I highly recommend the Millfields Hotel to anyone wanting to either get away from the stresses of life or are just visiting Grimsby. Hats off to this hotel. You cant go wrong picking it for your stay. Kev
Was at a party so not aware of bedrooms Food and drinks: Food good Service : 5/5 |
Nice relaxing place to have drinks. Was there last week for a naming and it was great. Food was lovely.
My daughter treated me to Afternoon Tea today for a special birthday treat. Amazing. Beautiful food, cakes, etc. Nicely presented. Very efficient service from Lisa, We live locally ,so we didnt have far to travel. And the sun came out again! Perfect . Noteworthy details: Well looked after by all staff members. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done all of you.
A very enjoyable stay the staff were particularly kind and attentive in all ways. Noteworthy details: The staff are particularly caring and reassuring
Its a shame to be fair to see a grand building, fall into a state of blandness, the once called orangery, is all white marked walls, the old tired tables & chairs, that need replacing, I remember them new when the BNI used to be held there, and thats over 15 years ago. But their service was brilliant I can not fault them on that, the toilets cleanliness, gents not been updated and smell terrible.
Cozy nice bread & soup
Afternoon tea was one of the best I have had. Very good attentative service.
We just love it here a special little hotel with really friendly staff , rooms nice huge bed( comfortable too) bath and shower. Our boys played squash while we had a relaxing drink in the bar. As a family we have been staying here over a period of several years and will be back with our new fully electric car as there are charging points in the car park here ready for us to use.
We had a lovely meal for four on a busy Saturday night, the service and food where fantastic and Lu Lu was very attentive too our needs . Thank you all.
Went for a drink, didn t stay for food. Decent selection of beers and westerly facing terrace/patio makes it the perfect spot on a sunny evening.
Visited Millfields for the very first time and thought it was really good, food, ambience, and staff very attentive and professional. Food and drinks: Very good value for money.
Food and drinks: Went for afternoon tea with friends realy lovely Rooms
A wonderful grand old building with a modern interior, gorgeous food and excellent staff, will definitely be back.
Friendly staff and a really nice pint Rooms: Rooms are clean and comfortable Rooms : 3/5 |
We had Christmas dinner here for around 18 of us and couldn t be happier with the meal and service! It was such an amazing day. First of all the staff were so kind and attentive going above and beyond to ensure we had a great day and everyone was happy- can appreciate how busy it must have seemed at times but they didn t put a foot wrong! We were in a private dining room which was great as it allowed the children to run around and have fun too. The food was amazing and plenty of it too, portions were fantastic. If I could rate higher than 5 I would, the whole family loved it and wouldn t hesitate to book again. Thanks ever so much to Milfields for making it a Christmas to remember!
Friendly staff. Comfortable room and bed. Very clean. Excellent breakfast. Would return and reccomend.
A super, clean, well-decorated hotel in a beautiful Victorian building. All the staff are welcoming, friendly & kind. Service is professional & excellent. Food is high quality & plentiful. Fab Grimsby fish, chips n mushies. A large car park. Mine was a big bedroom & bathroom. It has a large function room which seems well used, separate dining room. Car electric hookups x2 in the car park. On a very busy road which quietens around midnight. A short walk to Peoples Park which is a very pleasant Victorian park with a lake & Childrens playground. An altogether 5* hotel & staff.
Great place for a rew drinks
Had a meal there for a birthday absolutely delicious, staff very efficient, definitely go again
Can only give ut a1 star as Ive never been in here to dine in or drink and therefore am sorry. Probably will get round to visiting it one day as its next door to my accomadation.
The room was fairly simple, but spotlessly clean and comfortable, as well as fairly spacious. The evening meal was very enjoyable. Not a massive amount of choice on the menu, but I feel that is often a good thing. Easier to decide, and easier to get it right. Good portion sizes and good quality food and drink. The thing that really stuck out though was the staff. From the moment we walked through the door, to the moment we left, the staff were attentive and helpful. Always there when needed, but in a way that wasnt overbearing. The staff are the reason I would have given 6 stars if I was able to. Will definitely return here.
Food very good and well presented staff very helpful and friendly. Real Ale available
The foods lovely
Great place friendly staff
We have stayed at Millfields twice now, the most recent time being. Saturday 19th March. The evening staff are very lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The bar area is beautifully clean with a very well stocked bar. We paid £110 for B&B on Saturday. Our room was large and very clean and quiet. However, the bathroom was not very clean at all. The towels looked clean but they were smelly. The facilities list stated toiletries included - the soap dispensers had only been half filled and were clearly old as the pump tops did not work. The toilet roll had been neatly folded on the opening sheet but there was hardly any toilet roll left on it and there was no more in the room. The cleaner was aware the roll was nearly empty because like I said, the leading sheet was neatly folded. The coffee/ tea facilities in the room were inadequate. There was not enough milk for two people to have two hot drinks and there was only one sachet of hot chocolate; I d have rather it hadn t been available if there wasn t going to be enough provided for both occupants. I realise I could have quite easily asked for more toilet roll and milk etc, but since we paid £110 for the room, I felt that I actually shouldn t have had to ask, especially for toilet roll. When we stayed a few weeks ago, we enjoyed it so much, we booked a return visit. I m not sure that last nights visit was worth £110 so possibly won t be returning.
Nice place but looks tired.
Friendly welcoming atmosphere and good food
Food was lovely staff even better
Was not the best place we have stayed in only couple of faults , bar closed before time stated and breakfast not up to standard , Eggs were hard not runny .
A lovely old building but in places needs a little tlc. The room was very spacious with a lovely big bathroom, just missing some hot chocolate sachets on the tea tray. The staff were all very pleasant although l did have a small issue caused with information not being passed on. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Use the BP plus rapid charger
Nice service from staff and had a pleasant chat with other patrons
had a lovely nites stay the staff very helpful nothing to much trouble
Everything was good. Only negative was because its a old hotel the place creaked a lot making it hard to sleep and because the windows were old single glazed I could hear the person nextdoor snoring at night. Rooms
Gorgeous food!!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Perfect place to stay with a real friendly family feel. Staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble !! Hospitality as it should be.
We ate in the restaurant, what can I say ...... it was ok. Very average food. Service was good and the location is stunning, but from time of booking to food arriving was about an hour and a half which is quite a wait especially when we had a hungry 18 month old with us. Would probably give this place a miss in the future
Really enjoyed our overnight stay. Warm welcome, and all the staff very friendly. We didnt get opportunity to eat here but enjoyed a drink in the bar, nice decor and very clean. Room was good size and comfortable. A gym and sauna too.
Clean rooms staff are great very friendly
Sitting outside in the sun having a coffe watching the world go by.
Lovely place with very welcoming and helpful staff , food was also very good.
Good friendly staff, not cheap
Not very organised poor prices
Staff were great, especially Lulu. Food was good, poached eggs at breakfast were excellent. Nice rooms, but it was a little noisy from corridors.
A nice change from a pub but somewhat dated and a little boring. Good service and pricing for drinks.
Was nice staff lovely room very stuffy
Great few days away ,hotel clean smart and well furnished , staff very kind and helpful . Would go back without hesitation
The building is a very old one & its absolutely gorgeous, the bedroom was lovely, spacious, clean & the bed was really comfortable, all of the staff were polite, friendly, & very helpful. We had a great stay & would definitely, highly recommend it. We loved it & hopefully will visit again
Amazing service. Staff really couldn t do enough for you, so great with our 5 year old, it meant a lot! Really comfortable rooms, yes the decor isn t modern but spotlessly clean and with everything you need. Food in the restaurant was great, one of the best burgers I ve had. Really good breakfast too, better paying for this than going to the numerous chains available around in Grimsby. If I was ever visiting Grimsby or even fancied a trip to nearby Cleethorpes again I would stay here in a heartbeat!
Went for bottomless brunch food was amazing great service recommend
Good location, not far from centre. Rooms are pretty basic but have everything that you need. Beds are comfy and rooms are clean. We went during the heatwave and staff had already set up fans for us to make us more comfortable. We We staying with another couple but had booked separately. Staff ensured that our rooms were near each other and arranged for a table in the morning so we could have breakfast together. Lovely touch. Staff made sure we had everything we needed. They arranged for a minibus for us to take us to our event. Breakfast was sooooooooo good! Good portions, lot of options, really tasty. All cooked fresh! When we returned it was late at night, there was a fox in the front garden which was very friendly and is a regular visitor. The night Staff told us how she went every evening and was incredibly friendly. This was a lovely experience- if you like wildlife- and topped off the evening.
Nice hotel in need of some TLC in places. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Maybe a little expensive. Stop serving food at 3 on a Sunday which is not good if you are staying there and are out for the day . Stop serving food early on other days too, again not good. There are places near by though to get food.
Staff very friendly and helpful, all gos down hill from there. Room very dated, had to descale shower head as only weak flow also room was quite chilly no heating on. Food over priced and steak was cold , better quality and quantity at witherspoons. This hotel was a up market venue back in the 90s unfortunately its now operating on its past reputation.
Good spread laid out for a funeral.
Attended a wedding here function rooms are very nice and decor was great. Staff behind bar could do with smiling . But hotel itself is beautiful and buffet was great. Rooms : 5/5
The reason for our visit was a wake, everything thing was absolutely spot on,the staff were friendly and efficient and the buffet was excellent
For a Buffett of sausage rolls , chips , sandwiches and scampi nuggets it cost £700 , there wasn t enough food or a variety off food at all the fact they charge so much is outrageous and is an absolute scam . they should be embarrassed how sandwiches and chips can cost so much ! I wouldn t ever plan anything here
Attended for a friends funeral, unfortunately. Staff could not cope with the amount of people.. Charged lots of money for a very small, underwhelming buffet.. And at the end of the night the staff where extremely rude to the partner of my friend who had died. Very disrespectful, and uncalled for. Someones partner, father and friend to many people had died.. Place is also very outdated, needs renovation... Doubt I will ever go again
Check in staff where fantastic but the morning receptionist was not too nice especially when I asked for some more items for the room. Rooms: Fantastic room they have everything you need apart from telephones. Free WiFi in the rooms and lovely toiletries too. Walkability: The hotel is a 30 minute walk away from the town centre.
I went here for an afternoon tea and it was delicious would definitely recommend food was amazing and staff were lovely
Since covid things has changed but they awaiting things to get better
They kept the hotel for us as we were attending a funeral. Great service, nothing was too much trouble.
Great service even during lockdown, breakfast and meals brought you your room. A very helpful lady on reception both nights of my stay and overnight charging for my electric car. The Green light in the picture is showing my car is still charging as seen from the window of my room.
Large spacious rooms and bathrooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately in lockdown but would stay again. Oh,and big car park.
Very good
Great hotel bar and food
beautiful clean hotel , luvly friendly staff , rooms spotless , and the bed was comfy , thats always a massive bonus when you get a good comfy bed in a hotel. i will be staying again soon i am very sure of that as my friend and i are doing some work in the area for another friend of ours, so I am hoping that covid restrictions are well and truly gone for good so I can see more of the hotel inside and try the breakfast. so 4 just now, but will most certainly upgrade to 5 when I get the whole experience lol. Well recommended by the way
Excellent venue ..setout and food ..staff helpful ....

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Millfields and it was the most fabulous day, perfect in every way! Cheryl and the whole Millfields team were outstanding, friendly, attentive and professional and the food was delicious, thanks guys, you made us feel very special xkx
Nice room, friendly staff and good food.
Staff are wonderful, honestly nothing is to much trouble for them, the food is amazing, my room was very nice a good size, with plenty of drawers and hanging space for clothes.
Friendly staff, sadly arrived after the kitchen was closed so couldnt sample the cuisine. Only stayed for one night and the shower didnt work, so knocking a star off.
Richard the waiter was very helpful
We had a lovely room very clean, bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean, we didnt have breakfast, the room was good value and would definitely stay again. Thankyou to all hard working staff
Lovely please, pleasant people who work there, food was excellent,
Friendly staff , rooms very spacious /clean. Only downside being woken every morning at 5.45am by noisy guests
This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are massive and the staff are really helpful. Just wish I was able to have a cart to take all of our stuff to our room at once
The lady cant remember her name who served us was absolutely amazing we even tipped her at the end shes small with dark hair made us feel so comfortable. Food was beautiful. Amazing night thankyou
We had an excellent 5 night stay. The staff were very friendly and polite. The room was immaculately clean. Highly recommended.
Really nice and clean place with friendly and helpfull staff.
Would highly recommend Millfields, we have stayed lots of times and customer service has always been excellent
Brilliant hotel, friendly staff, great location. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in the local area.
Love the breakfasts from here really good quality food and prices are reasonable.
Absolutely lovely place, fab facilities
Stayed here for a nights stay whilst visiting Clethorps was greeted by a lovely young Male who showed us to our room we stayed in the superior suite very spacious and clean bathroom bath panel was badly cracked and looked like it had seen better days but room was nice otherwise, quite noisy at night from slamming door which was the main door leading to all the bedrooms which unfortunately was next to our room didnt stay for breakfast and on departure the same chap that showed us to our room took our key he didnt seem quite as friendly this time and didnt ask how our stay was which would of been nice. Hotel very dated and scruffy looking could do with a lick of paint and new carpets but the room itself was modern.
Lovely hotel and great location staff very attentive and helpful
Dropped in for a drink whilst waiting for friends. Had our wedding reception here many years ago, sad to see it looking so tired.
Great place always clean with friendly staff
We have celebrated our Golden Wedding at The Millfields Hotel today. Everything has been excellent, superb food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend Millfields for professionalism and tyr kindness of all the staff.
Overnight stay, enjoyed top fish and chips for dinner. Room was well appointed with excellent bed linen, slept through. Breakfast was likewise excellent. Top ingredients, well cooked and presented. Customer service across the team was superb. Professional, polite and friendly. Definitely stay again if in the area.
Meal and service was rubbish. Totally gone down hill. Definitely not worth eat we paid. My glass was dirty and wen changed my drink was flat, like theyd just tipped my drink into another glass...
Service was excellent and the food delicious.
We have used the restaurant a number of times and this trip was our first overnight stay. We booked directly with Millfields. The accommodation was good value, clean and comfortable. The evening restaurant and breakfast was a very good standard and we enjoyed our experience. Staff welcoming and attentive. Will stay again.
Very good atmosphere and food
Had a nice stay just a shame the sheets had dry blood on them.
Really nice place to stay rooms are massive and beds are really comfy
Nice stay, well done on your work staff they were absolutely lovely. Breakfast wasnt so nice as the sourdough bread was very hard and sausages tasted off but apart from that it was nice
Its gone downhill in the last few years. The whole building and my room were very tired and the bathroom (and toilet) were unclean. I had food poisoning during my stay and the only thing I ate which my family didnt was their only vegetarian main meal - macaroni cheese - which was barely warm. Lots of this I should have brought up with the management at the time for which I apologise, but it really was poor. A shame, since I had a lovely stay around 2016.
I have tasted better Christmas dinners and it was cold. I had to go looking for the barstaff for a drink and the room we ate in was cold too. On the whole mediocre
Great stay, friendly staff, comfy beds. Great location
Excellent Sunday lunch takeaway
Had the Sunday Lunch takeaway twice now really tasty food, great gravy.
Stayed here for work during lock down , staff couldnt be more helpful , very safe and covid aware ,
Very polite staff who are always happy to help, great value for money with very clean and comfortable rooms.
I enjoyed my stay @Millfields
