We come to the trawl every week after football, service is fast and efficient and everyone is really friendly. £10 roast especially is a team favourite. Special shoutout to Ellie and Bex!

This is our local pub, we moved here in September last year. This is our 4th visit and apart from one lunchtime visit 3/4 have been poor. On our 1st visit the only Bitter available was John Smiths, at Christmas we had frozen vegetables served still frozen! (resulting in a dodgy tummy the day after) and today weve come for Sunday lunch and discovered that the extra large dinner is virtually the same as the standard except for the Yorkshire pudding. We had to ask for stuffing Unlikely to revisit. 28/11/2024 Decided to revisit and nothing has changed. Overcooked cold food. Chicken was so dry it was inedible. My missus had the chicken sandwich, it came in a burnt bun, no tomato, no onion and the lettuce was brown! We were offered a refund. Will not be returning.

I can honestly say that I havent had a bad meal at the Trawl for about 10 years now. We sometimes have to ask someone to come and clean the table before we can relax but the staff recently have been friendly and professional. A good local! Food

Great food, came quickly, service was great and friendly.

Not a very nice place, Ive got no complaints about the food the meal was nice BUT the meal I ordered came out wrong I was told by a young lass thats the meal you ordered haha dont think so Im sure I know what I ordered she then got on her high horse and shouted Im not standing here arguing with you, the meal was replaced like I said foods lovely, THEN my 11 year olds dessert came out wrong again, same delightful waitress came over picked it up didnt speak took it away brought the new one through it on the table at my daughter and walked off, absolute disgrace, if you want higher reviews I would get that little cow as far-away from there as possible, shame really where local been going in years

Busy place not enough staff

After visiting in June we decided to come again to the Trawl. Our meat didnt come as well done as wed asked for but it was no trouble at all to change it. Unfortunately they were out of stock on a few kids meals but they were very good in offering alternatives and providing excellent service. The meals were lovely and we will definitely be coming again. Special mention for the assistant manager Ellie for being amazing and nothing was too much bother for her. Prime example of what type of person you want running a shift/ pub. Well done! Parking: Spacious carpark Kid-friendliness: All the staff were pleasant and spoke to me son in a lovely manner including him in conversations. Excellent!

As a vegan, Im used to my options being limited,but was looking forward to the offerings on the menu. Out with friends tonight and not 1 of the 3 vegan main meals was available. I was told weve got a new menu next week and theres some great stuff on there. Wonderful,but I was hungry tonight,not next week. I had a disappointing bowl of chips and left. I wont be returning,new menu or not.

Alot of the food on the menu was out of stock, werent informed until we went to the bar to order, the excuse was a new menu is coming out next week so theyre not getting any more of the current menu items in, asked for hot drinks and was told no milk either!!

Not all the menu available. Waiting ages for food. Staff are rude. Spoke to someone to see where food is and got ignored. It wasnt till asked for money back to go elsewhere that the food was then conviently on its way out.

I dont know whats happened to this place used to be a good place to eat. My friends food was cold and sent back. It wasnt that good when it came back. My sizzler was not sizzling all onion and peppers burnt and stuck to sizzler. Heard another 2 people complain about their food and got a refund. Went home with bad guts. Will mott be returning

Went yesterday for food having waited ages for it to come chicken was cold chips cold ,my friends was burnt .complained they did me another chips was hot chicken had been pinged in microwave was rubbish.. won,t be returning. Other people also had problems with there meals. Answer we have new chef .

We are unfortunately in the area for a funeral, But what a great experience, staff are fantastic, polite and very helpful, Ellie was especially helpful and fantastic, couldnt ask for a nicer person. 5 star all day long Food

We attended on Saturday for food then watched rag n bone man absolutely fantastic booking , food ,service was fantastic & act was amazing keep it up

Appeared very understaffed. That said, the staff we interacted with were all very lovely. Took over an hour for our main courses to arrive. The roast potatoes were missing, the mash was very over-microwaved and hard/dry. The gravy was almost solid and consisted mostly of lumps. The stuffing ball disintegrated when I tried to cut it but was at least tasty. The Yorkshire puddings were very tough and hard to cut, probably over-microwaved too. Oh and there ants on the table!! The atmosphere/clientele leave a lot to be desired. A real shame really as it could be a great location. Just seems that most people don t know how to behave in public or be decent human beings. No manners or decorum and no respect or consideration. Neanderthals in football shirts, at best! Nicer at The Wellow in Cleethorpes, worth travelling a bit further to avoid this place. Waste of money, disappointing food and will avoid at all costs.

First and last time visiting here, was disappointed with the standard of cleanliness throughout. Our table and other tables in the vicinity were sticky, we observed a table that had been vacated, the glasses finally cleared and still 10 minutes later no one came back to clean or sanitise the table which might have explained why ours was so sticky. Upon visiting the bathroom you have to push the door with your hand it was so tacky it was disgusting to touch. Upon washing my hands in the small but adequate sink the force of the water that came from the tap splashed all my clothes. The food looked unattractive in its presentation but was edible. In fairness we could have pointed out these issues before leaving but if they could not see this for themselves we felt that we would be wasting our time.

Nice clean place, nice staff, but short on a few food stuff, what there was was very good!

One person serving behind the bar, taking food orders as well as drinks, then running round to take some drinks to tables, think they need more staff front of house, especially during school holidays.

Dining with a party of five, 4 meals delivered within a reasonable time but was still waiting after 45mins for the last meal. Very poor customer service, apology reluctantly given.

Prices have gone up but meal sizes stayed the same, unfortunately. Food beautiful as always though Price is for 4 Food : 4/5

Wouldnt go again ,food not the best dont know if was an off day . Didnt have cutlery,dips to go with burger,fryer broken. The roast lunch was inedible with thick gloopy gravy over the top ,raw veg -and i do like mine al dente - microwaved meat and potato. Burgers were ok as was the steak pie. They were understaffed

First and last visit. We ordred a 12oz rump steak and a 8oz Smothered Steak Sizzler. The 12oz was a challenge to say the least, it looked good but tough, chewy and jaw achingly poor. The 8oz was better but very gristly. Chips were lukewarm and not fresh, onion rings soggy. Presentation very poor. I cant comment on the rest of the menu obviously. Wine selection poor, Abbot ale glorious.

Absolutely terrible..daughter took us for breakfast for the wifes birthday..no hot chocolate or scrambled egg as they had no milk..breakfasts were terrible only thing hot was the hash browns.sausages were old and like rubber,bacon cold,one egg sloppy and undercooked,the other overcooked..never go again..

Family friendly pub but, has the side bar for the adult time ( includes football, boxing or even tennis games ). I enjoy both sides, have a lovely time with my family and also with friends in the bar area. Staff are lovely, I don t have favourites as they all are amazing. Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarians. Salad, pasta, mushroom pie and lasagne. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free swaps Parking: Huge car park that s free to use. Kid-friendliness: Nice little family areas and a few toy machines for the children. Wheelchair accessibility: Two ramps either side of building and a disabled toilet.

Was suprised that it wasnt busy on a Friday breakfast we we pop in for my birthday on Friday mac and cheese was good with hash browns steak was ok hash dog consists of a dry butter less bun with a over cooked hash dog need to up the game what they are serving bit of garnish and presentation goes along way.

Wasnt impressed today with the breakfast 6 members of my family came. All ordered 2 came with no bacon on. Beans looked dry and food wasnt very hot. Another breakfast had no butter for toast. All food arrived before our hot drinks came. Nobody came to see if all was ok. Overall wasnt great today

Food was out of this world thanks to Jase the chef, was no longer than 20 minutes between ordering and food arriving and the server was lovely and polite she was called Ellie. Tuesday, 14 May, 2024. Table booked for 17:15, number 25. Family meal, five people. I ordered Breakfast meal. Disappointed, unpleasant. Food Luke warm, not particularly nice look to meal. Bacon tough, sausage skin hard to cut through. Mushrooms (five!) rock hard, inedible. Only saving grace was the hash browns - hot! Beans, Ill pass on them. Ordering meal took a long time, and arrival at table overlong. Atmosphere spoilt by children running around. I have had this meal on previous occasions and have been well pleased. My meal appears to have been left on a warming plate or under warming lights for far too long.

Out of date info on the internet. Not open 4 breakfast.

Had a lovely meal this evening catching up with friends. Staff were friendly and food was very tasty. Unfortunately 2 young boys were riding scooters around the pub and running around with pool cues and a football so that did spoil the atmosphere somewhat. We were a bit surprised that none challenged them and they were allowed to carry on doing it.

By far the worst mixed grill ever had, Steak was like a sole from t shoe, chicken was dryer than a nuns chuff and the sausges dont get me started on the sausages, Cold , and effing gipping

Ordered all day breakfast at lunch time for me and a lasagna for my daughter. The breakfast was the worst Ive ever had. The bacon had been cooked until it was a crisp! I dont mean crispy I mean no moisture dark brown dry. My one sausage was so rock hard I struggled to cut it with a knife. The toast was toased about an hour ago so was like a cracker bread. You absolutely knew what you served was this mornings breakfast and served at lunch. This place used to be a good pub for food. Not anymore. I wont say what my daughter thought of the lasagne but judging by the fact she had only one mouthful might give you a hint. Staff are friendly and the drinks are nice. Just eat before hand

Took my wife out for a bite to eat and a few drinks tonight. On arival at 8pm found it to be half empty and could do with a good deep clean. Staff member could barely crack a smile when serving. Ordered pie for me and sea Bass for my wife. Asked for Desperados deal none in stock so had a beer. My wife wanted rose wine house red which all they had was poor so asked for Tia Maria they had none dont sell it so southern comfort again dont sell god only knows why as have done in the past. Pie was ok mash was tiny!!! My wifes Sea Bass was a joke oily and tastless when took it back was told thats how it is with Green King not true as other pubs in chain always been ok and good choice of drinks. Wont be going back again and would advise anyone to avoid this place like the plague. Need refurbing and new team to run it.

Another brilliant day on table 3 with the excellent service by the staff especially Alex who goes far & beyond in service & personality. We always know we are in for a good day with Alex s lovely smile & personality. Sorry Trawl but disappointed by your service AGAIN. Visited for dinner with my family on Tues 9 April. Table was booked for 17.45. 5 adults and one child. When we ordered our meals we were told there was a 30 minute delay. After 35 minutes a server came to the table to advise my daughters her choice was no longer available. She changed to a similar choice of kebab. Clearly the kitchen had not even started to cook our food at that point. Our meal finally arrived after 50 minutes. After this considerable wait our 7 year olds child meal deal arrived last . I feel this is inconsiderate, more so because of the lengthy delay. My adult daughters choice, chicken kebab with salad, had half a plate of lettuce and rocket, plus one paper thin slice of red pepper: NO tomato, onion or cucumber. This is the second time I have complained about the food service here. Such a shame. If I hadnt enjoyed my Chicken New Yorker as much as I did on my last visit, I wouldnt have returned. The pub did not seem very busy on Tuesday evening and they appeared to have plenty of serving staff unlike on my previous visit. Perhaps there was a staffing issue in the kitchen on this occasion???? Sadly, NOT good enough for these hungry horses!

Used to love the trawl a couple years back but the last couple of times weve been the food has been really poor! The chips are uncooked, the steak was like leather and didnt come as a sizzler, the presentation was just bad, the peas were uncooked and we were missing half of the food on some plates.. I could go on. We complained and just got a sorry but we wont be spending anymore money here in the foreseeable. Shame

We decided to go for a walk over to the Trawl with the dogs and Im very glad we did. They are dog friendly (on the tiled bits of floor) and brought over water for them. Service at the bar took a small while as they seem very popular with a positive atmosphere. When we were served it was with very friendly staff. I had a Baileys hot chocolate which was so good! The food was yummy and affordable and the atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely be coming back. Vegetarian options: There were a few vegetarian options. A halloumi sizzler, a lasagne, a pasta salad. Potentially some other ones. I went with their vegetarian burger which was delicious.

The very definition of a tale of two visits! The food was inedible in places, onion bhaji looked like excrement, the replacement swimming in oil, nan bread like Jacobs, the burger just about edible. Clearly no quality control was in place that day as we returned the next day, and the food was flawless. More attention needs to be paid on how long the food is sitting under the lights before being served, it needs to be checked, and serving staff should be able to refuse to serve sub standard offerings.. The beer is good though

Visited beginning of January with my in-laws who were visiting for New Year. Absolutely can not fault it. The 2 Girls who were on were really friendly and really approachable. We had- Gammon Steak which was huge, Vegetable Lasagne which my mother in law really enjoyed, she commented that it actually tasted of something as, as a veggie se can be uninspired by choices, my husband and I went for Sizzler plates Steak & Salmon, food came real quick was hot and well presented, decided to stay for dessert to prolong the in-laws departure again couldn t find fault- although The Trawl is my local we don t go as often as we should, but will definitely be first choice from now.. Great Team & Lovely atmosphere 10/10!
