Hire another server, one lady inefficiently serving 30+ people. Saw a table of two leave, large table across from me wanted to leave. Food was meh.

Cold inside! Chairs not ghat comfortable, no one came around with more coffee. Overall the food was great!

We have been there many times and always have been treated very well but today was the worst. The waitress took about 30 minutes to bring menus and then after another 30 minutes took our order. 40 minutes later our food arrived cold! Then I had to ask another waitress for our bill. It was a bad time and she got a very smal

Went for lunch ordered the steak fritos and it was so bad we almost sent it back, rubbery, absolutely no seasoning and we asked for medium rare and it was basically raw that the cow could would have gotten up and walked away on its own and the atmosphere of this place is disturbing in a way you can just tell they do not know how to cook this food. don t waste ur time the mcdonald s is up the road

Great service and wonderful food

My wife and I come in every few months for breakfast and it never disappoints. New owners have improved the quality of some items on the menu which is nice. I enjoy that the home fries are actual fresh cut potatoes. Recently my wife ordered an omelette which she really enjoyed. The portion was also a great size! Lots of parking and lots of seating inside the restaurant.

Great breakfast location.

I went here before and it was fine but after my most recent visit today I wont be returning. The service was not great. The food was horrible. I couldnt finish my breakfast at all. The potatoes were old tasting, toast was not toasted and was literally stale, and my over medium eggs were smashed onto the plate upside down ???? What happened to this place? The price is awfully high. Not worth it and would obviously not recommend this to anyone.

Steak & chicken was cooked to perfection and nicely presented. Jeevan our waitress was polite, prompt,and provided excellent service. Room decor was nice but it could have been a bit warmer. Music from 88.5 the Lake was set at the right volume. Food : 5/5

Brutal service!!!! Been twice, was sat down and then no acknowledgement from there on. Server gave coffee to table beside us but didnt even acknowledge us. This exact same thing happened the last time we visited and we left then also. And no, it wasnt right after church service it was a Wednesday at 10:30am. Both times we left jumped in the car and made our way to Smithville restaurant LAKIS which also serves a great breakfast, but also has far better service. Done with Elm st Cafe!

Kids meals were over priced for what you got, food came out simultaneously over cooked and cold. Service was awful.My husband had to wait 20 minutes for a water. And then when it came to the bill the server informed us that the chefs special was only with a drink. It s probably something you should say before they order it. Nice of her to let her own mistake slide.

Jan 2024 review We gave them another chance but it was a terrible experience. After being seated we were forgotten for 20 min while the blond waitress took orders of people who came after us, refilled drinks etc. We weren t offered drinks or anything . And my meal was terrible. After coming here probably over a dozen times this really was my last time. June 2023 review Had breakfast here at 8 am on Sunday with our toddler. The server, a woman with blond hair, seated us and walked away not asking if we need a high chair or booster leaving us to find it and bring it over. We didn t see her for 10 min to offer us drinks. She didn t even take our order then. She didn t even acknowledge our child and almost touched him with the hot coffee pot when leaving over him to refill our coffees. Service was very slow, it took over 30 min to get our orders when the restaurant wasn t even that busy. The food was good but not worth $60 plus tip for breakfast for two adults and a toddler. We have been many times but this was our last time.

Had breakfast this morning at elm street, had great service from their server Rhonda and the eggs Grimsby is amazing! Highly recommend! Thanks Rhonda for a great time!!

Beyond legendary breakfast chef is a genius of biblical proportions. Have the traditional breakfast ask for poached eggs and frenchy fries. Always fresh and service is faster than a formula one pitstop. Pricing is excellent for the quality.

Best waffles and excellent service

We really had a great time with our breakfast here. The staff was very helpful and courteous throughout. The dishes were freshly prepared and excellent tasting. I had waffles which were crisp from exterior with a soft interior served with freshly whipped cream and fresh fruit. Awesome!

Went for breakfast to this establishment with my family, usually go once a month ordered a Reuben for myself. We all know restaurants are not cheap anymore. When my rueben came to me, it was SATURATED in butter, hardly any sandwich meat, and a few scrapes of coleslaw on it, and the meat was extremely salty, (the sandwich was so tiny for the price you pay) ..needless to say, I couldn t eat it, I tried but with all that butter and extreme saltiness, it just wasn t happening . The waitress explained that it wasn t corn beef I was eating it was pastrami, she also said that if I want a refund I have to speak to the manager? (What kind of stupidity is this) I saw who the manager was and I figured I best shut my mouth pay my bill and never go here again .terrible experience and never going back

My wife and I often have breakfast here. It has a great family feel. Good service and good food.

Service was slow. Toast was burnt on both orders and home fries were way over done, almost burnt but some pieces were very crunchy. Scrambled eggs were very dry. Wont be going back.

we came to this restaurant with some friends like around 20. Server forced us to pay 20% tips and said because they considered us as a party. We were just travelers came to hiking near around, and we all separated bills. No any special party service was provided, and the restaurant was quite empty since that was not at rush hours.

Kids picked a random place to eat and decided here. I had a green salad with chicken. It was good. Kids had the tender with fries and a poutine. Fries were really good. Food : 3/5 |

Me and my family came to dine here and we had a great time! We were greeted at the door and were sat down immediately. There is an indoor and outdoor area to sit that are both great options. We came here for lunch and were served within minutes. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki. It was served with crispy potatoes that were seasoned perfectly. The chicken was flavorful and hot and was served with a wonderful tzatsiki sauce that paired great with the potatoes. Overall a great experience with my family!

I went for breakfast with my family, and was absolutely delighted with my experience. I got the eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious. The management was super kind too, and told me they re actually extending to dinner hours soon, so I m excited to check that out soon. If you re ever driving from Niagara to Toronto or vice versa would recommend!

We went for an early family dinner Saturday night at 5 pm with our Grandson. There were five of us. I was sad to see no other diners. This restaurant has just opened up for dinner service and deserves our support. The food and service was excellent. We ordered pasta from the kids menu for my 7 year old grandson, it was beautifully presented with fresh basil and tomato s as a garnish accompanied by two slices of garlic bread. My husband, son and daughter in law all had the Elm Street Burger with fries, which they all enjoyed. I had the salmon, wrap it had all sorts of good stuff in it. Excellent. I had the house salad which was nice and fresh. Mains are reasonably priced. A great spot for family dining or a couple. Parking: Free parking in a mall location Kid-friendliness: Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Kid friendly food.

I had a wonderful encounter with this restaurant. This was my first time going here and it was amazing! The food was precisely what I was searching for, and the customer service was excellent. The food, the decorations and the service was great! For breakfast, I would definitely recommend the waffles, they were so delicious. They have many different options such as gluten free foods and halal options! I was quite happy with the assistance I got from this restaurant. They went above and above to aid in my search for the ideal piece. Definitely would come back!

This restaurant is clean and has the capacity to serve large numbers. I have been here several times and the outcome is always the same. There is never enough staff to handle the customers. Today of all days labour day Monday they have one waitress servicing over 70 customers. No manager in sight. No apologies for waiting over 15-30 minutes just to get your drink order and don t even get me started on the over 1 hour food delay. The food is very well presented but the service leaves a bad taste. I had to beg my husband to stay as he was ready to leave after the first 1 hour without our food. This restaurant has the capability of doing better but they lack proper management and professionalism. I will come back during the holiday months and see if there are any changes.

Have been here for breakfast a few times. The service is very slow but given the fact that the one waitress who is always run off her feet seating customers, taking orders, bringing food, cleaning tables, filling coffee cups, ringing up bills, taking customers bills and payments, it is understandable. This waitress should be paid for doing the work of three people. She is always pleasant and doesn t seem bothered by it all. Bless her heart. Now today there eventually was a second person to help her but did very little from what I could see. You would think the manager/owner would help out but nope that doesn t happen here. I ordered the pancakes and when I finally got my order there was a dead fly cooked in with my pancake! They took the order back but hello did you not see it sitting on the top of the pancake because it was the first thing I noticed when they set the plate down. They brought me a new order (supposedly) but there was one less pancake on the plate when they brought it back. By the time I got it my partner had finished his meal.but they had the nerve to charge for it. Will not be going back ever!

Food was good. Our server was amazing considering she was the only one on floor for the whole restaurant plus had a party of 40 coming. Hearing other tables talk about how it isn t fair she s the only one on floor didn t give a good impression. Between taking orders, running food and ringing in orders she was still super kind and welcoming, hopefully management notices it.

Food came out under cooked, Pancakes were very doughy after cooked twice and French toast tasted like I was eating an egg not French toast. 5th time there but last three times I noticed quality of food is going downwards. Cook needs to slow down so that the food comes out at a higher quality. Sorry but my kids are not interested in giving this location another try, Atmosphere is good but your servers cant keep up. Eventually if you dont cook your food properly you will lose your customers. Stop rushing I would rather wait 10 extra minutes to get what I paid for. I could have eat mcdonalds with 80 dollars and had a way better meal and whats with the cost of your drinks, way over priced.

Great food and great hospitality

Really disappointed in the food at Elm Street Cafe Grill. Years ago, it was pretty good food. I have to think there was a management changeover in the last five years. Although I was disappointed in the food, the staff and the service was pretty good. The bacon tasted really weird - almost as if it was nearly going bad. The omlette was disappointing and tasted as if it was cooked in the same grease as the bacon. The potatoes also tasted greasy and soggy. The best way to explain the food is that it all tasted the same as if it were cooked in the same grease, and old grease at that. I am sorry to say that I will not be going back to Elm Street Cafe for breakfast/brunch. And Its a shame because it is a cute little family breakfast/brunch restaurant spot. The atmosphere is pretty cute and not that typical diner look that you see at other breakfast places...Its a little step-up from that.

The food is great quality. Ceasar salad with parm petals. Rosemary Parm fries. Salmon Benny. I guess the kitchen staff were considering putting the dressing on top of the salad, but, our server insisted they mix it before serving. Thanks for that...we all agreed with her! Reasonable prices, friendly and professional staff! We come from St. Catharines and meet our friends from Burlington. We all love the atmosphere and are happy to travel here!

Was a good breakfast spot until they added $2 to everything on the menu. I get it prices of food has gone up but not everything. For a child to get a 1 egg and bacon and toast with a dentist size cup apple juice its $8.99. Seems a little over priced when a regular breakfast during the week with double the amount of food is only $7.99. This is where the 1 star comes in hand I order my breakfast the main thing in my omlette is substituted for pickled banana peppers instead of jalapeño because they were out maybe the cook needs to communicate with others instead of just assuming the changes they make will do. I must say a year ago this place was good not sure if new owners think jacking the prices up will help them through this covid thing but its gonna turn alot of long time customers away from the breakfast spot we all loved.

This place is just ok. We had take out thanks covid! The eggs Bennie weren t great and the potatoes were a bit on the overdone side. No jam for my toast but lots of ketchup. Definitely on the lower end of the diner spectrum in my experience.

Had breakfast here for a family of 5 this Sunday morning. Great staff, service and best breakfast I ve eaten in a long time with large portions. Place was fresh feeling and very clean as well. Will definitely be going back more!

Do not recommend. Service is horrible even when the restaurant is half empty with more staff than customers. We waited 25+ minutes to get the bill while we watched our waitress walk around in the back talking. We had to go to the counter twice (once for jam, and once to request again to pay the bill). Food was okay, home fries were the best part. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place just does not excel in professionalism, cleanliness, attentiveness, or really food service in general.

It s been awhile coming back due to lockdown restrictions but I must say this restaurant hasn t missed a beat. Quality, service and value has not diminished. Will be back!!

Reading the reviews we are assuming our not so memorable experience was the result of it being Friday the 13th. The staff was friendly although we quickly realized that the regulars seem to get quicker service and the attention of the staff. The two couples seated after us had their drink orders taken, delivered and put their food order in before our drink order was taken (our menus were closed as we had looked at the online menu first). Breakfast special prices etc. should be updated) Otherwise our server was very pleasant. As we told the server the food was OK. Nothing special and there were little disappointments like the home fries which were real cut potatoes but were absolutely reheated or served from a warmer in the back and took up 1/2 the plate. When ordering soft poached and over easy eggs both orders of eggs arrived medium. We had the options of bacon and chose crispy but it arrived lightly fried. Lastly the freshly squeezed juice came in a small juice glass but for the $3.00 - $4.00 youd typically see juice served it in a regular size glass (min 2 times the size). The recommendation to visit the Elm Street Cafe Grill was from my parents group of friends (70 - 80 years old) so Ill be asking them about their expectations. We were 3 people ordering 3 breakfast specials with 2 drinks so it was surprising the bill was over around $60. We were wondering if they had forgotten to add veggies or fruit that may have been part of the breakfast or held back on the serving of sausages or bacon. Several let downs on our first visit but again perhaps it was an off day being Friday the 13th.

Only been here once for breakfast with my daughter & son-in-law. Nothing spectacular altho I found the coffee to be pretty good. The coffee gets it an extra star from what Id give a 2 otherwise. We all had eggs, toast, hashbrowns & differing breakfast meats. Breakfast sausages were mediocre and the bacon was average, but still pretty good. The ham was not good however. My son-in-law & daughter couldnt figure out if it was off or just low quality. It wasnt eaten other than 2 nibbles for them both to notice it wasnt worth eating. Word to the wise...of the 3 meats, the bacon was the best, stick with it. Id def give the ham or meat lovers breakfast a hard pass. Hashbrowns were mixed with fully cooked and half cooked potato chunks. A few still crunchy as they werent fully cooked. Not good. This was on a weekend and the place was quite busy, so stuff happens. I get it. Again, the coffee was good and always fresh as the place was busy. Also notable was that the Chefs Breakfast Special was called the Traditional Breakfast on weekends and the price jacked $3 per person, altho its the same thing. Id try somewhere else next time.

Havent been here in awhile but I stopped in today along with my grandparents for breakfast and the food and service was excellent. Our server Alyssa, went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied even though it was quite busy and she had her hands full. Overall, the food and service was great and we will for sure be back!

Came here after being ignored at our first place, waited at the door about 5 minutes while waitresses stood around at the bar counter, place had almost all tables full. Got water and coffee right away. Waited 30 minutes to get out breakfast (they did have a help wanted sign posted so Ill give it to them) The plates were huge, home fries were delicious and just slightly crispy. A very good menu option at a decent price, would go back again.

I waited until I ate here 3 times before giving it this review. Im very disappointed with the food here. Great service - terrible food. Home fries taste like McCains. Ham is super thin. Peameal bacon looks and tastes frozen. Sausages from the food basics down the road? There is no way it can be this bad everytime. They need to get a new supplier. Honestly just go down the road to dinner Bistro. The home fries have no seasoning. Maybe a little celery salt.

Me and my mother visited for the first time for breakfast this morning. We had a great experience. The staff was great, food was good. The only reason I didn t give a 5 star is because of the fact that there was one lady there, which I assume is the manager. Who was just so negative and rude to the staff. It was so hard to watch. They only had two wait staff on, and one girl bussing the tables. She just repeatedly was rude to the staff, and did NOTHING to help them the whole time we were there. The wait staff was greeting and sitting people from the door and working on about 10 tables each. And this woman just stood there with her arms crossed and didn t lift one finger. As someone who manages a business that also deals with the public, this was a shame to watch. Poor management. Treat your staff the way they should be treated. And help out a bit.

What adelightful place tucked away in the corner of the plaza. Food and service was above par. The portions were huge and the servers very friendly and prompt. Definitely deserves another visit.

Stopped by for lunch yesterday with my wife. There was about 25 patrons there when we arrived. We waited for quite awhile before being served due to the fact there was only one waitress working (12:30 pm). The food was great, the server we had was amazing, unfortunately the employer needs to loosen the purse strings and hire more help, the poor girl was running off of her feet. This wasnt just a case of not finding help, weve been here before and the situation was the same.

Love the ambiance and atmosphere of Elm Street Cafe Grill. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. She took our orders and had it on our table in no time. They cater to all sizes of groups and Have two large patios and are pet friendly. I love the options on the menu, as They have good choices for everyone. My partner and I eat very different and it s hard to find Restaurants that cater to all dietary needs. I don t eat dairy or gluten and I ordered Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken, Walnuts and strawberries. Everything was freshly made and was absolutely delicious with a large portion for amazing price! This type of salad would cost almost twice it s price in Downtown Toronto. My partner loves waffles and he said that was one of the best waffles he has eaten in a long time! We will definitely come back to Elm Street Cafe Grill again with our loved ones.

Visited Elm Street on our Way trip to Ontario last month. The food and service were exceptional to say the least. We tried the eggs and the burger, both were cooked to perfection and were delicious. If you are visiting Grimbsy or passing by, try the food here, you wont be disappointed.

Beautiful place to share with the family. Good variety of food. Good attention and cleanliness. I recommend only one detail ... Changing the oil of the fried ones gives it a bitter taste.

A hidden GEM restaurant!! Very clean and such nice staff. We loved the breakfast food and will sure to be back for lunch soon.

Just ate here with my family while coming back from a beautiful to the Niagara. There is not enough nice things I can say about this place. The food was utterly delicious, the staff was kind and had very fast service and the owner even sat down with us and chatted with us for a few minutes.If i could rate it 6 stars I would. I highly recommend it if you love in Grimsby or passing by.

I was up from Nova Scotia for work and ate here every day. Great breakfast at a great price. Will go back immediately if ever in Grimsby again.

Had a great experience! The owners hosted us. They came over to say hello!They were very nice and friendly,chatting with all the customers. Servers were very attentive. Food was amazing! The best chicken quesadilla Ive ever had. Will definitely go back.I dont get to go to Grimsby very much but its on the way to Niagara so will make a pit stop there for brunch.

It had good food. Service was okay. Only objection was the sign wait to be seated we waited and waited. Because we had to show vaccine info all the servers were clumped together and we finally had to wave.

We had an awesome brunch at Elm Street Cafe. We were greeted at the door, seated and served with freshly brewed coffee as soon as we sat. The entire menu including home fries are all freshly made in house. Sorry! It was so good, that I was late in taking pictures.

We visited the restaurant after searching for a good restaurant on our way to Niagara. And trust me on this, all these 5 star reviews are legit. Manager and the staffs warmly welcomed us. Foods are great. Breakfast at this restaurant is way better than some breakfast place in Toronto. We loved our time there and we will definitely visit again.

I came here and had French toast with eggs and home fries. Very filling food. Our waitress Maddie was really good and funny.
