Absolutely wonderful inside and out

Good food, bad atmosphere and service. By the end of the night young staff were screaming throughout the restaurant. Never asked about our wine being refilled. Unnattentive staff, other than busser who actually tried. Food was good.

They got my order wrong, brought out something else. I felt bad since the server seemed like a high school student, so I told them I would eat anyways because I didn t want it to get thrown out. They ended up charging me anyways for the meal I didn t order. At the end, they automatically charged our party of 6 with a 20% tip, but we were never advised of this prior. It was a presumptuous move for poor service. Food was very bland. Fish was overcooked, and the risotto was overcooked. We won t be coming back.

Came to Oggi Bistro last night and was not disappointed. The food was amazing as well as the service. All the staff were very helpful and friendly especially our waitress Ariana and the new waiter in training. We will definitely be back!

I was impressed by the exceptional service. The staff was warm and attentive, making me feel right at home. I had the pappardelle and it was fantastic. Everyone s meals looked beautifully presented and delicious. One of the best experiences i ve had at a restaurant!!

Been now twice. Once outside, last night inside..The only one thing they should do is have nice menus for inside use. Plastic menu cards are okay for outside but if your selling classy, something nicer is needed.

Old heritage type house with nice table settings. Staff were great and friendly. Bruschetta was amazing. Mussels in the shell were ok but some were very fishy. Seafood medley risotto, the rice was hard and grainy, the clams and shrimp were good but mussels were cold. Alfredo chicken was bland and the sauce was watery.

Food quality was quite poor. I had the pappardelle, the ground beef was so far gone I could smell it before it hit the table. My friends had ordered the same dish - veal parm, it was over breaded and had egg shells in it. The dining room is cute but incredibly loud due to the AirBnB upstairs. Would not recommend or return.

Travelling for work. Stopped here for food at 9:12pm but was turned away. They close at 10pm. They should update their hours of operation on google. We drove a 26 moving truck to this neighborhood

We had a Groupon. I think Groupon ppl are treated differently. Lobster tasted like ammonia and the fettuccine Alfredo had no taste. The sauce was like milk. The service was horrendous and the server kept crying. Worst service and food we have ever experienced. All four of us. It was for my son s 22 bday. Huge disappointment We are Italian. And know How to cook. The owner just blames the customer. Will never recommend and will leave reviews everywhere I can. DONT GO

Just went with my family last night. Very cozy and family friendly place. Great location and great food. Whole family from the young busboy, aunt serving, owner even came to check on our table. Aunt brought around the 1 year old baby around saying hi to everyone. These type of businesses we HAVE to support!

I came in with my family and the service was spectacular. Rhylea was super generous as well as Arianna. Food was super hot and delicious! I recommend this place. not only do they have good food they have employees that have great hospitality.

Have been hearing good things. Love the atmosphere but I would get rid of the plastic flowers. The Ossobuco was amazing, house red ( Commissios) was Good. Pasta over cooked and red sauce really watery. Took an hour and a half for 1 app (was not busy) Was never offered water, or fresh Parm but other customers were. People who were seated 20 min after us were Usually served before us and it was all the same food. 2 hours until main but was approached at least 5x to buy a bottle of wine.

My girlfriend and I purchased a wag-jag. She had the lobster tail and Alfredo I had the veal parm and pasta. Our meals were hot and delicious. No complaints at all. We will definitely be back.

I am literally sitting here now, 2 hours in with no food!!! Had our app come about an hour after we sat. Had to ask for our order to be taken after sitting for half hour. People came after and have received their food. I had to ask for refills of water, which was hot. No one came and checked on us after our food came and gone. I had the fettuccine with lobster, I can say the food was good. Definitely not coming back as the service is horrible. Parking: Before 6pm 1 hour parking, after 6pm free parking on street

Had Wagjag voucher, 4 of us (including 2 visitors from Florida) looking forward to evening. Waited 1 1/2 hours from time of arrival (6:30 pm) to arrival of food (meaning brushetta) at 8 pm, mains came at 8:30. Place very busy, too few servers, need to look for better chef. House wine not available, therefore had to order more expensive wine from menu. Two of four entrees very salty, lobster was dried out - very overcooked - and sauce was very bland. Server almost impossible to track down. Manager/owner finally came over - totally unapologetic about the long waits, and to the complaint about the over-salted food remarked well, you ate it didnt you? Owner even followed us out the door, saying he would respond if we wrote bad review - guess this is his chance! Needless to say, we wont be back.

Great evening on the cozy patio! Food was delicious with ample portions. Owner came to each table to welcome guests and service was excellent. Did not feel rushed. We were there on the Wagjag deal and will definitely be returning!

The Oso Bucco I had was incredible. The chicken parmigiana my wife had was dry. Her vegetables were under cooked. Service was very good. I had a WagJag and it worked out to be a very enjoyable evening

Great food, disappointing service. Owners seem pretty cool though. Amazing food.... I visited Oggi Bistro for my birthday, and while the food was fantastic, the service was disappointing. Our waitress, Anna, started off well, offering to take our photo and delivering our appetizer and entrées promptly. However, she never actually took our photo or our dessert order and then disappeared for almost an hour. We later found out she had left for the evening without telling anyone. The owners were very apologetic and kindly provided a birthday dessert, but it would have been nice if they had done something more with the bill, like waiving the tax portion of our voucher or something similar. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service left something to be desired.

Great Italian food the seafood risotto is to die for!!! The customer service was very good I highly recommend this restaurant I will be definitely coming back

Enjoyed a great dinner out. My Seafood Risotto was delicious...mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari ànd squid tossed in a flavourful sauce. Friendly ànd attentive service! My wifes Linguini al Salmon was also delicious...love the home made pasta!

We were cycling in Grimsby, ON and passed this little gem at the end of our ride. We stopped in for a much needed snack and didnt know we needed reservations but they did accommodate us. Food, service and atmosphere were absolutely perfect. We will be stopping in again! Thankyou to the owner for checking in, great place!

Do not recommend to anyone. Disgusting owner who wants to argue over everything! DO NOT DINE HERE. You will be disappointed.

After waiting 45 minutes for our mains to be served after our appetizers, they mixed up our orders completely. Serving red meat to someone who specifically mentioned they dont eat red meat. Then, mixing my order up by serving the wrong protein . And finally putting parsley on the penne when my 4 year granddaughter order spaghetti. I could go on and on about how the owner dealt with things. I will leave it that,perhaps this was a bad day.

We arrived for our reservation @ 5:20pm early for our 5:30 reservation - we were seated by a young hostess at a table where there was obvious bird poop on the chair - the patio was not busy and the poop had been there quite some time - I changed the chair and awaited our server - our server was not much older than the hostess and it took quite some time for her to attend our table. I asked for the menu selection for our WAGJAG and she quite quickly rhymed off the selections. we were brought the bruchetta (not toasted at all). My wife ordered the fettucine with lobster tail and I ordered the osso bucko with vegetables and potato. When our food came my wife mentioned to me that the lobster tail was quite tough and smelled of amonia (the first signs of going off seafood) our server not once came by to ask what our first bites were like, otherwise my wife and myself would have mentioned the off lobster tail - it wasnt until I was finished my Osso bucko that the server came by to ask if my wife wanted to have her leftover pasta packed up and this is when we mentioned the the off lobster tail - I dont believe our server even mentioned it to the kitchen staff as I believe she was too young to understand what has to be mentioned to the kitchen and what customer service is all about. I think the management of Oggi Bistro should discuss in detail what is proper etiquette for running a restaurant and what needs to be reported to the kitchen so that they can rectify and unpleasant situation. Although we have a $ 25.00 credit for our next visit I would be hesitant to attend the Grimsby location all until we see or hear that things are any different moving forward. No once were the server or any of the servers observed to ask any of the other patrons about their respective meals. I would like to hear from the establishment about my review. Ian Peer

Food was terrible.They claim they make all pasta in house but I believe the dish I had was made with prepackaged gnocchi, the heavily salted, dense gnocchi in vacuum sealed plastic. . We asked for the food to be served very hot but it s clear it sat around as the sauce had Congealed & the dish was Luke warm. Overpriced & poor quality.

What is happening at this establishment? I moved into grimsby a few years back and became regulars here. I can no longer support this restaurant. The kitchen is so understaffed that they refuse to answer the phone for a pick up order. I actually went to the restaurant in the attempt to order and was informed that gnocchi and a salad would take a minimum 45 minutes. Please hire the appropriate staff. Ive attempted a delivery service on 3 other occasions, disaster all three times. When the owners are onsite, things run well. However, as soon as they arent in house disaster ensues. My spouse and I received burnt bread with awful pasta and sides, amongst other simple things. Please , go back to the way things were. You must be losing alot of revenue recently.

We just loved the haute cuisine, service and ambiance.

I was not impressed with my dining experience at this restaurant. The food was OK and the entertainment provided by a solo guitarist was great, but after that it was downhill. The staff was very judgemental, pretentious and discriminatory based on our attire (just returning from a round of golf). We had ordered a bottle of wine with dinner and after that they had cut us off and told us to leave, I assume based on our appearance. Make sure you dress for a wedding and appear to be wealthy when you attend the Oggi Bistro in Grimsby or you may be told to leave as you arent GOOD enough to dine there.

Came a few nights ago for dinner. The place wasnt busy yet our server took a bit to come to us. We ordered a bottle of wine. The wine glasses were all different sizes and looked like they were sitting for a few days as they were quite dusty. We had to open and pour our own wine which we thought was a bit odd for ordering a bottle. When it came time to order, we asked about the specials which we were told no one had ever tried yet. We also asked the price of the dish which she didnt know. Because we purchased bruschetta, we were not given bread to the table. When we asked, she brought it but not the oil we saw everyone else get. We also found it odd that we were not given water at the beginning of the service. We had to ask twice for that. Though our server was nice, we found the service to be lacking. The bruschetta was great, but the pasta was nothing to brag about.

The worst dining experience in my life. The owner/manager is in the wrong business - he runs a Wag Jag promotion and then insults customers who use them. The service was very slow, and there is no AC in the place; only a ceiling fan - on a 33 degree night. No water for five minutes; ten minutes for drinks; wrong order of pasta was served when entrees came out; we had to wait for cheese and pepper because apparently they only have one person doing that. I ate most of my meal alone, since my entree was served way ahead of my daughters. My daughter had sent back her pasta for a different noodle - the one she had requested in the first place. Then, when the second correct order comes up, the server with cheese walks right by (Im assuming because we are Wag Jag customers) so more waiting. The lobster was the same one from the previous dish, which was now overcooked. The manager/owner came over, argued a little, then said he would reorder the lobster. All should be good, but no - he comes back out and starts to argue over the time which we had to wait, which he claims my daughter had incorrectly said. This escalated to a place I have never gone to in a restaurant, with this guy losing it and insulting anyone who uses a Wag Jag promotion. He then personally attacked my daughter and went over the line with his comments, calling her a liar. So if youre looking for a dining experience with a touch of UFC tossed in between waiting for your meals, this is the place for you. But if its not, then head to another Italian restaurant around the corner. You have been warned..Just remember, he solicited his business and markets through, Wag Jag - I only purchased it.

Really impressed with dinner tonight at Oggi Bistro. Firstly, the restaurant is so cute and they have beautiful live music (not too loud at all) on Friday nights. The calamari was the best we have had. Really appreciated the owner making sure that we enjoyed in our meal. We felt as if our business was welcomed and appreciated and noticed the quality of the food right from the beginning with the complimentary bread and olive oil and balsamic. Will definitely be back!

We stopped by without reservation and they not only accommodated a group of 11 last minute but the hospitality was amazing. The food was amazing. We got the Ribeye, smoked salmon pasta, peperoni pizza, calamari, caprese salad, crab cakes and the veal. Every single plate was a 10 out of 10.

Not sure how this restaurant received its awards, but they have a lot to learn about how to cook pasta. Im not an expert by any means, but I just came back from Italy. I do know from experience how pasta should be cooked when Im eating it. The pasta I had last night was overcooked and certainly not al dente. Furthermore, the veal in my veal scallopini was tough and chewy, not the way true scallopini should be served. With regards to my wifes meal, she ordered lasagna. The portion was enough for two very hungry people or three moderately hungry people. It did not help though that it was severed on a stone cold plate that was wet. Our waitress lacked personality and the live entertainment was horrible. The restaurant should listen to performers before they are hired to perform to make sure they can at least sing. This guy couldnt hit a note if you gave him a hammer. That being said, the prices were reasonable and the desert was spectacular. If you just want dessert, go here, otherwise, find another better Italian restaurant elsewhere.

We were walking in Grimsby and decided to try this Resturant. So glad we did, by far the best sea food risotto we have had. Imagine more sea food than rice. Impressive and delicious. Our server Maddison was wonderful, attentive and so pleasant. The owners wife not only beautiful on the outside her personality was beautiful. Looking forward to our next visit.

First time for us at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience wasnt great. The entertainment for the evening was a fellow, playing guitar and singing off key. The food was warm and not good. Alfredo sauce, awful. Food lacked flavor.

The food is good, solid pasta, and pizza. It was well made and flavorful, Its a nice venue with a warm feeling. In the summer, the outdoor patio is great. Nice place to have drinks. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Service can be a bit slow, but the food turns out great. Its a nice place to get italian food in a nice setting. Highly recommend.

We were a group of six. Not a special occasion or anything, but we use Grimsby as a middle spot for meeting up and wanted to try a new restaurant. Small, quaint restaurant just off the main street of Grimsby. The ambience of the restaurant is very inviting. The hostess was very nice. Greeted us immediately with no issues with our reservation. We were given complementary bread with olive oil and vinaigrette, and even asked our late party members if they wanted the same when they arrived. We ordered the gnocchi, salmon arrangi, and chicken parmigiana. We all found the food to be delicious. What made this more than 5 stars is our server (I think her name was Samantha). Our group was playing a joke on one of our friends and we asked her help to get in on it. She was more than willing to play along. We will definitely try to find a chance to go again. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu, or meals can be made with vegetarian substitutes. Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy allergy and there are non-dairy options. The meals can also be made without dairy.

Beautiful place from inside and out very nice servers. Dishes are deceiving presentations great until you have that first second bite and realize there is nonexistent taste to the dishes. You needed salt at the tables to give your taste buds something. I had the alfredo special with lobster tail. The sauce had no garlic ,cheese seasonings in the sauce. Also skimpy with the mushrooms and small lobster tail. I had a hard time getting it down. Also extremely over priced. Then desert came if it couldnt have gotten worse it did lol cheesecake that was unrecognizable by flavourful texture and look. Yuck! Its to bad because that place has such great potential if they fire the cook and redo the menu. The musican saved the way over price gross food. The managers like see you guys soon. As Im thinking ah never agian

So, honestly not at all impressed with this restaurant. My friends and I had a reservation for 745pm and we were running a few minutes late so we called to let them know. We got some attitude that their kitchen closed at 8 and we better be there before 8 and we also better be ready to order IMMEDIATELY. We were confused because their site said they were open until 9 but we were doing our best to rush through traffic to get there asap. We get a call at 7:58, when we re 1 minute away, where someone says I assume you re just not coming and we explained that we had called and we were so close and he said it s already after 8 and we close at 8 , basically telling us point blank not to come. The people were so incredibly rude and not welcoming I can t imagine what would have happened if we made our 7:45 Rez if they were dying to get out by 8pm. 0/10 would never attempt to go there and you shouldn t either. Rude, unwelcoming staff.

Overpriced. Food is too salty not tasty. One star for good service. One star for atmosphere. Not impressed with 20% mandatory tips. Will not come again or recommend.

Quality varied. Never had bruschtetta served cold before. Still prefer the traditional served warm, hot off the grill with topping spooned over the freshly toasted bread and served immediately method. Crab cakes were tasty; but overpriced. Both the chicken parmigiana and veal scallopini were tough. Upon presenting a gift certificate towards todays dinner, (alcohol not included), we were told that they both could not and would not subtract todays amount from the full value of the certificate which was worth twice more than todays bill. Our original intention was to return another day and apply the cash difference to that visit. Apparently, their certificate was for a one time use only. Again, we have never come across this type of policy before in other establishments. They seemed to expect us to simply walk away from the unused balance. That wasnt going to happen. Instead, we ordered 3 carry outs. MEMO: Check your carry outs as 2 of the 3 contained half of what would have been served at our table. Oops! Our server Lynden remained both pleasant and helpful through our entire adventure. Bottom line.....your choice, your time, your $. As an aside: In case your server doesnt mention the daily specials, we suggest you find the chalk board and stand within 3 metres so as to read the unpriced items written due to the almost unlegible script.

The food is absolutely amazing at Oggi bistro. I would definitely recommend going here for dinner or hosting a private event. Pat and his staff are absolutely wonderful.

First time dining at Oggi Bistro, met my friend for lunch. Menu options were so tempting but the specials of the day won, hands down! Service was fantastic, the owner himself was very friendly, food was awesome and plentiful! Will definitely be back! Next time maybe al fresco?!

My boyfriend and I were trying to find a patio to sit on and thought we would try this restaurant. Upon walking inside, we were greeted by a young boy saying do you have a reservation? (not even a hello or anything) and when we said no, he said we re probably full despite there being 6 empty tables on the patio. Very rude and unwelcoming. He spoke to who I assume is the owner and he said it was fine, so we were seated outside. The server (the same young boy) said he would be right back to take our drink orders and then proceeded to walk past our table about 5 times to go to other tables. We sat there for 20 minutes without anyone coming back to our table, so we got up and left to eat somewhere else. I won t be going back and wouldn t recommend it to anyone else after that experience.

Went for our dating anniversary. Made a reservation on the patio. There was live music, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The portions were good and tasty! Our first time - will probably be back :)

I had a wonderful dinner and our server was very friendly and courteous. I have been here many times and have always enjoyed the superb experience. It would be very much appreciated if they would consider serving decaf coffee and espresso for customers like me who are not able to have caffeine and would like to enjoy a latte after dinner.

Had dinner with my wife Friday night and had an excellent experience. Great atmosphere, our server was new but was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and generous portions....we did share a dessert. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Sat outside on patio. I had Fettuccine with mushrooms and my husband had Fettuccine with jumbo shrimp - both were delicious! Service was courteous and prompt. The entire meal including the salad and desserts was amazing. Food

D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S The food at Oggi is made in house, and oh man, can you taste it! I had the Fettuccine Oggi Bistro while my friend had the Chicken Parmigiana - both meals were divine; not overcooked, generous portions, extremely flavourful, and nicely presented. The bread provided (focaccia) was also made in house and it was as soft as a cotton ball - so fresh! Our server, Shae, was wonderful! She was attentive, polite, conversational (without being too invasive during our dinner), and knowledgeable about the menu. The owner, Pat, also paid our table a visit to ensure that we were enjoying our evening and thanked us for coming; it felt nice to be recognized as a valued guest. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back!

Great patio - Some guy was yelling at all the servers to be professional when we sat down . That was odd considering ? Food was just meh - same as the hot food counter at longos . Had worse . Calamari was so salty thought about returning it but just didn t want to complain - Charged 22 dollars for noodles and butter for a kid hahaha ! All in all - had worse but will never come back - Better places in the area.

The food is okay for its price. There is better Italian food in grimsby, the service was ok, a little slow but understandable when being the last customer at the restaurant. But the outside patio is absolutely lovely with the trees and lights on a quiet street.

I have wanted to try this restaurant for a while, my wife and went, entertainment on the patio, we were ushered to our table and that was it. On a hot humid night, we sat there for 15 minutes while we watched 4 servers stand around, we left, as we did I assume the owner approached us to se if everything was alright, a little too little too late. Train your staff to serve, there are many choices, we went to The Judge and Jester, sat down and had a beer right away. Oggi will never see me grace their doorstep! Not that they care

We were super disappointed after our meal. We ordered the Oggio Bistro pizza well done and it was like eating soggy bread, not well done. I ordered the chicken parmesan and I couldnt tell the chicken from the breading, or even if there was chicken. It was like dry tofu, as though had been cooked from frozen. The bruschetta topping was terrific but the bread wasnt really toasted so it was also soggy. It wasnt busy but we werent even approached for more water or even a second drink, not really up to par for what we expected.

Found this hidden away while looking for parking to go to another restaurant, but so glad we decided to eat here! The old house has a classy yet cozy interior and there s a large patio out front too. The menu is authentic Italian with a range of choices from pizza to pasta to entrees, plus daily specials. We ate gnocchi in rose sauce and chicken scallopini with vegetables. Both dishes were generous, flavourful portions, served hot and fresh. Shared bruschetta and tiramisu as well. The tiramisu is also made in house and was heavenly! Looking forward to my next visit to try another tasty dish!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary and I have to say I was so disappointed. I booked the private room and it was SO hot and uncomfortable that we asked to sit outside, our food took an hour and 20 min minutes to arrive, and literally as we started eating it started pouring, our food and drinks and all got soaked, was never even offered a drink replacement let alone food, was so disappointed that our dinner was ruined that we just wanted to leave. What a terrible experience.

Had the most amazing meal (Osso buco with mushroom risotto) out on the patio with live music. Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere and attentive service. Would definitely recommend.

Pasta was extremely over cooked and served with what tasted like a dollar store jarred ragu sauce overdosed on oregano.

Nice location. Food, deserts and coffee selections are good. Yesterday was my third visit. The atmosphere inside could be improved a lot. However the patio is very nice. Needs some Italian music playing outside to improve atmosphere. Staff was friendly but far from the level of service you see at other Italian restaurants in the Niagara region. One tip for customer service: Never bring a guest a bill with debit machine before they ask. Also have it brought out only after all are finished their deserts and drinks and the table is clear.

Tracey and I had a late lunch here today on the patio. What a charming family run business. Mom the owner walked around with baby Tino and helped her son Payden (sp) and others serve our table. We were never left wanting anything but at the same time we had time and space to have our own private conversation. What a great place, we were on the patio today but will return to their lovely dining room. Food was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants a fabulous dining experience.

I made reservations for 4 people on Tuesday for Saturday @7:00pm and asked for the patio but asked if the weather is bad do we get to sit inside. The girl on the phone said no problem we will accommodate you inside. Well on Saturday I get a call at 6:10pm to tell me they cant accommodate us because the patio is now closed due to weather and nothing she can do. I was trying to explain what the other girl said when I called but she said there was nothing she can do because there were last minute reservations and basically hung up. The girl was very rude & wouldnt let me explain nor try to do anything to help or figure out a solution. She took reservations from people who booked last minute over someone who booked days before.

It started off fine out in the patio, but then it started to rain so we went inside. We carried all our stuff from the patio table to inside service ourselves, then we were told after two of the member of our party had there appetizers eaten already that the oven was not working and that we could give it a few minutes to see if they could get it running or just leave. We decided that it was unfortunate but asked to see what was still available on the menu. We had ordered a bottle of Riesling and we re sipping that eating for our meal. I in turn ordered another meal and so do my dinner companions. We did not see our waitress for a good while and I then asked for bread for the table. After 5 long minutes she came back and said the oven once again was not working, we asked could we have fresh bread she said ok. Another lengthy time went by to the point we had all finishe our meals and then she brought the bread. It wasn t eaten after a long while we had no one at the table and then had to ask for the bill. No one asked if we even wanted coffee or desert it was a horrible dinner out. Would I go again, probably not will I recommend it absolutely not!

Had a great time here with friends! Got some pizza and wine, sat on their beautiful patio, live music playing in the backyard. All on a Thursday night! Tiramisu was also top notch. I ll definitely be back for their pizzas and fun atmosphere

Fantastic evening tonight with great friends. Both guys had the tomahawk steaks that were cooked to perfection and us girls had the pastas that were delicious. Our server was amazing and the owner as well was very social. The only thing that wasnt needed was the guy singing in the room we were in. Other than that we had a fantastic night

Great service, great food, great atmosphere

This was our first visit to the Oggi Bistro. My wife and I enjoyed the patio and the service was truly excellent. Oggi has a great ambiance, with both the patio and inside restaurant quite inviting. However, both entrees we ordered were a disappointment. The Chicken Scallopini was ordered with charred vegetables. The chicken and vegetable portions were quite small. The vegetables were a bit over cooked. The Chicken Scallopini fine. The other entree ordered was Veal Parmigiana. The pasta came with a tomato sauce that was quite delicious, and the pasta was cooked perfectly el dente . The pasta portion was also quite generous. However, the breaded veal was thin and chewy . It was the breaded coating that was most noticeable taste-wise, instead of tasting the veal that was thin and over-cooked. But, despite our disappointing first experience, we do plan to give it a second try because of the ambience, the excellent service, and their amazing special on Monday and Tuesday nights when bottled wine is half price ! Their pizzas looked delicious and so we ll just try different entrees next time.

We had a very lovely lunch at Oggi. One of the best Italian meals we ve had! Such a sweet and cozy restaurant and great service. We are already excited for our next visit!

This was our first experience at Oggi Bistro. We weren t too impressed unfortunately. We had to ask our server to explain the titles of the specials for the day and she only gave us a word or two (no real explanation). The food was okay, but mediocre at best. My husband got the shrimp fettuccine, which was a featured menu item and although it was good, we were shocked that it cost $45 dollars. It had 3 shrimp, and again wasn t super great. Other dishes on the menu with way more seafood cost way less. We felt a little bit scammed at this price and feel these dishes should have been labelled with the price. We enjoyed the carrot fries with aioli, although we thought they would have been breaded, it was just cooked carrots with sauce and a sprinkle of cheese. The Italian wedding soup was really good. My chicken parmigiana was kinda gross. I can make better pasta at home and the chicken was too saucy and slimy with no crunch or breading. Unfortunately, we won t be coming back. The restaurant itself was cozy and the live music was fantastic, but unfortunately the food and service were just not great. Our bill was over 100 dollars and it was not a 100 dollar meal.

I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and was impressed with the atmosphere the rustic century home decor. Enjoyed the different choices on the menu. The Christmas decorations were up and it s just a lovely lovely restaurant. I feel it s a hidden gem in Grimsby. I had no idea how amazing this restaurant is as the outside looks just like a normal residential house and is quite reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options to choose vegetarian. Parking: There is a parking lot across the street. Kid-friendliness: I did not go with children, but it s just a really friendly place and imagine it would be just perfect for families.

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt like we were coming home to family. The atmosphere (heritage home, character, charm, ambiance) was enveloping and comforting. The service was top notch, the food was spectacular (dare I say Michelin Star?)! The entire restaurant places you in a comfortable, relaxed space that sets the stage for your choice of entree. Admittedly hesitant to post this review of this hidden gem in Grimsby, but you MUST GO to experience it yourself! Post after your experience and prove us wrong!

Wow! Oggi Bistro is my new favourite restaurant. Family-owned and everyone so lovely, pleasant and attentive. Food is wonderful to say the least. Very tasty. Large menu in addition to a list of specials. And live entertainment to add to a very special atmosphere. You have to give Oggi Bistro a try and I can assure you that you will be very happy!

Our first time at Oggi Bistro. What a gem in downtown Grimsby. We enjoyed a very pleasant welcome when we walked in. Pasquale and his staff were wonderful, always asking how everything is and making sure our stay is perfect. The Calimari was perfect, my streak and lobster with pasta was delicious. My wife had the steak and shrimp and it too looked amazing. We will definitely come back with some friends next time. I would not hesitate to recommend Oggi Bistro to friends. Oh yes and the musical talent was a wonderful touch during dinner, a wonderful voice. Thanks again for a great first time visit. See you soon.

A wonderful dinner. To begin, the calamari is the best Ive ever had. Period. Loved the side dip that came with it. Next the Caesar salad....perfect, with a light, flavorful dressing. The mains...veal scallopini (tender) and fettucine Oggi (alfredo done just right) were delish. Nice portion sizes. Wine list includes some local Niagara wines and the prices per bottle are very reasonable. We quite enjoyed the red from Puglia. Our server was very pleasant and Pasquale, the owner, checked in on us twice and suggested that for dessert we try the tiramisu, made from his familys recipe. It was so good... a great way to end our first visit to Oggi Bistro. We cant wait until their patio opens!!!

Maybe because we ordered through SkiptheDishes, but if the food doesnt travel well remove yourself from the platform. Pizza was over cheesed and made the super thin crust soggy and unappealing. Fettuccine tasted like chicken stock, or the grocery store sidekicks. Wont be ordering again.

Had a wonderful dinner at Oggi Bistro in Grimsby tonight. We shared the calamri and calabrese pizza to start. The calamari was so crispy and tender and the pizza was thin crust and a generous portion of cheese. We had one of their features which was a 16oz ribeye and lobster tail with mash and veg, and the 2nd entee was a hand cut Pappardelle with Bolognese sauce. Didnt get pics of dessert but we shared a Tiramisu and a chocolate Nutella mousse. This was our first time dining here and it was fantastic the owner Pat is so friendly and ensured we were taken care of the whole time.

I dont usually leave reviews but when my Momma says she enjoy everything from appetizers to main course to dessert.....that says alot. Took my Momma here for Mothers Day Dinner tonight. We were a group of 7! Food was fantastic , for my Portuguese mother to say the mussels were on point and the sauce was spot on, , speaks volumes!!!! Sabrina, our server, was fabulous. Down to earth and great personality. What an amazing family run business. Definitely will be back.

I cant even give this restaurant 1 full star because that would be way too generous. We dined at Oggis last night. It was our daughters and her boyfriends Mothers Day and Fathers Day present for my husband and I and very generous of them. To start we had a reservation and, when we arrived, we were told that they were short-staffed because they had a lot of walk-ins and thought it wouldnt be busy the day after Mothers Day. We wanted to order the fried polenta fingers as an appetizer and were told they were out. We were also told they were out of chicken parmesan (at 6:30 at night). It went downhill from there. My daughter ordered one of the specials - stuffed shells. For the whopping price of $24, she received 2 stuffed shells. Her plate looked practically empty. Needless to say, we all gave her parts of our meals, just so she wasnt too hungry. Just this past weekend, I ordered stuffed shells, exactly the same size, from a caterer who did a beautiful job, and they were $20 for 10 stuffed shells. I am appalled that they thought two shells for $24 was okay!!! Not to mention, our meal came out around 8:15 p.m., when we arrived at 6:30 - exasperatingly long wait. My daughter had to go home and eat after paying a considerable bill for dinner. Stay away unless you really want to punish yourself.

We literally just left the restaurant and if I could give it ten stars I would. The food was absolutely incredible, the portions were above and beyond plentiful and the price was just right. Now, I cant say what I loved more.. The food or the fact that when we got there it felt like we knew Pat (the owner) our whole lives. The way that he welcomes guests, it makes you feel like youre dining at his house. The food came out in great time, at perfect temperature, beautifully plated and you could tell the people who work there are proud of what they do. It was the best way to spend our anniversary and we cant wait to come back. Thank you so much Pat, for everything, we really had the best time.

Entering the bistro..was like being invited in to Nonnas house..the smell was devine! Live music. I had the seafood risotta it was delicious!. My husband had the steak..(he says it was the best steak he has eaten in a long time. Nice ambiance! Will definitely be back!

The food was OK but it was definitely very pricey. We went to celebrate Mothers Day and it had a fix menu that was very confusing. At first we were told that we could have a full course base on the menu on a board and after we made our decision, the waitress came back that the fix menu was with specific plates... On top of that there werent any kid friendly options. But I love the vibe of the restaurant, someone was playing live music and the owner was super nice and friendly.

Greeted right away and seated on patio during open mic night. Despite arm waving didnt get served for 20 minutes I went inside to get the inside waiter. Finally a nice beer to listen to music. After ordering pizzas and an app we were told they do not have ingredients to make our dishes so we reordered. The manager apologized for his threestooges servers which we thought was rude. Anyway food was subpar and overpriced. Wont go back. Felt bad for servers. pS... it was not that busy just not organized

Food was good but not plentiful nor consistent with the menu description. The service was odd, in that multiple servers where asking us the same questions. Some people might consider this as good service, but it becomes quite annoying when youre asked the same questions repeatedly. The staff is friendly, but I feel disorganized. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. Not sure if I would give it a second try.

Went for dinner with another couple. Excellent atmosphere, had a nice table by a window. No apps today but got to see some being served, looked great. Service is excellent didnt have to wait for much, it was really good timing. Meals were delicious, homemade pasta, was delicious. Dessert was equally delicious served with a cappuccino. Highly recommend, prices are reasonably especially when it is so fresh. Thanks for a great evening!

Fantastic experience dining on the patio. The Calamari is phenomenal! We enjoyed live music and friendly service. Our server Madison was the best I ve ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or evening out with family and friends.

Went these and had their osso bucco it was so good I had it the next time I went back. Cant wait to try all the Italian delights. Great staff and atmosphere.

This is a great place to have a nice meal in Grimsby. The food is good, the menu has many sea food options. The gluten free options are limited. Salads are good, dishes are good and served hot. The service can be a bit slow at times, if the place is busy.

I have been too the Oggi Bistro twice in the last 10 days. I liked it so much that I had to go back. The mussels are top notch. The Calamari is perfect too. Sometimes Calamari at chain restaurants taste like rubber in batter not at Oggi. Calamari is awesome. Both times I went the owner came and checked to see how I was doing. Both servers were very polite and courteous too. I really felt like I was being taken care of. You can tell the owner is passionate about his restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Food was good, service was strained during our first and only visit. Waiting 2 hours for dinner mains and appetizers being completely forgotten really was a poor showing. They did offer a free shot of lemoncello for our troubles. Still will not return.

Having grown up in the hospitality industry, I have rather firm, above average standards when it comes to restaurants. From the moment i called for take out to the moment i got back in my car, the staff was outstanding. Truly European hospitality! Bravo!! And the food? Delicious!

We had a really nice evening on the patio. The food was good and portions generous. It took a while for food and drinks to come but it was a busy Saturday and the company was great, there was a live musician providing music and overall a lovely relaxing evening.

It was very quiet when we were there for lunch, so the service was super fast and friendly. Good beer on tap and the food was very good. Not super cheap, but well worth the money Parking: Parking lot across the street, which could be filled when you want to go. Youd have to find on street or somewhere else then.

We walked by on a Friday night, we didn t have reservations but they let us in. Then the owner came to give us a piece of advice: not to show up again without reservation on Thursday through Saturday, and that we were lucky we got a table as his friend didn t show up. Here is a piece of advice from a lost customer : when adressing new customers in your restaurant try to include words like welcome to our restaurant, WE are lucky to have you and perhaps enjoy your meal? Not to mention that the service was extremely slow and the food quality is below average.

This restaurant will be our new family favorite for special occasions. Beautiful atmosphere, great food and service. The patio area is super nice too with live music on fridays. The server we had was friendly and very efficient. My only suggestion is that the servers allow a bit more time with the main dishes before taking them away. Felt a little rushed at the end of our meal. Still highly recommend Oggis!

Some items on menu not available. Pasta definitely not fresh. Meal had no flavour. Asked for garlic bread to replace appetizer on menu that was not available and waitress brought 2 small pieces of stale bread. Very disappointed and won t go back.

We had an amazing dinner this evening. Calamari was delicious, had the risotto with osso bucco, melted in your mouth. Veal parm was perfect Portion sizes were large. Server was attentive and treated us wonderfully. The owner came out to see how we enjoyed our meal. Definately a restaurant we will return to

I was very impressed with the food and service so I decided to buy 2 gift cards. DO NOT BUY THE GIFT CARDS!! According to the owners rules, it does not include alcohol, tax or tip. I was quite embarrassed by giving 1 gift card and it FORCED the recipient to spend another $50 on top of the $120 card I purchased. I selected that amount to give someone a nice dinner, a few drinks and great experience and not open their wallet unless they chose to. What if I sent my elderly inlaws that are on a fixed income. I did send my daughter, she only works part time and could never attend this place with her own funds and she brought a guest. And it cost her the $50, unexpected and embarrassing. I have received gift cards for other nice restaurants and they did not have strings attached. The owner said I could have called in my credit card when my guests would be coming to ensure they did not have to be out of pocket! Wow, this owners a joke!

Called in here with my wife for desert and a drink, and to listen to the excellent live music on the patio. Great friendly atmosphere. Only disappointment was the unavailability of alcohol-free beer.

This is an Official update. I have revisted Oggi Bistro this past Sunday .We had Spaghetti and Meatballs dinner with 16 people on this past Sunday it was FABULOUS. Also any day of the week he has specials all day long. Reasonable priced all the time. Ask for Pat . He is a Great Host.

My husband and I came here for our first time last night, and I would definitely come back. The tiramisu was homemade, and I havent had it taste that good since my mama and Nonna made it! I had the homemade gnocchi which was delicious, and my husband had the chicken parmesan which he thoroughly enjoyed. They also have live music Thursday nights which was really nice to see the local talent, and to make you feel like you are having dinner in Tuscany. If you love Italian food, and/or are Italian you will definitely appreciate this place.

As an Italian immigrant and being here for the last 12 yrs, Ive never had Italian food as good as Oggi bistro ever in Ontario. This restaurant is by far the best Italian restaurant in Ontario in my opinion! Thank you for letting us in at 8:30 and making an excellent meal, Ill definitely be back soon!

The pizza was good, high quality ingredients, but in low quantity. Super friendly staff, but it took 15 min to have someone looking at me and being able to ask for the bill.

Painstakingly CLASSLESS. My fiancé from Toronto was visiting me and I wanted to show her grimsby hospitality. I ve never been here before but it seemed nice from the street. We asked to be seated on the patio and the hostess brought us to a two seater table behind their live performer for the evening. We asked the hostess if we could be moved to an available table in front of the live performer so we can actually see their face as they performed. Shortly thereafter the owner approached, in what anyone would describe as a charge, questioning us with an accusing tone as to why we were sitting where we sat causing this massive scene. We explained about asking the hostess first to which he responded by calling her over and berating this poor girl in-front of everyone about her mistake. I m surprised she didn t cry right away. We decided to leave and maintain our class instead of educating this owner on hospitality 101. As we were preparing to leave he had another table made available and told us if we really wanted to stay we can maintain the table we were already at. As if it was OUR fault. We just left. I do not recommend this place to ANYONE. I would rather pay more for my meal and have proper hospitality. Also, that hostess should find a new employer. Try pane-co.

My husband and I went to Oggi last night for our anniversary dinner and Im so glad we chose to go there. The patio atmosphere is so quaint and relaxing, the portions are very generous (especially the seafood risotto), and the food was great. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they offer 2 options for non-alcoholic beer as well. I dont believe Ive ever been to a restaurant that had that as an option, usually restaurants only have mocktails to offer. We also got to chat with the owner who was so welcoming and kind. We will definitely be back!

So many great things to say!! Food and service are phenomenal atmosphere is lcozy and inviting . The Rib eye is SOO GOOD. Our server Emily was so pleasant and very attentive. This is the best Italian eatery in Grimsby!!

What a disaster this place is! I was at the Grimsby Farmers Market on Thursday and saw the extremely busy patio at Oggi Bistro from my parking spot. Apparently there was some music event on that evening and there was a real buzz about it. I decided that I would give it a shot and went last night with some friends. Never again! Fortunately, we had made reservations online and were seated promptly on the patio. The people behind us hadnt reserved and the owner made them feel as if they had committed some criminal act by not booking! He berated them and then yelled at his young hostess to set up a table for them. It was obviously busy, but it was also obvious that the restaurant couldnt handle it. Food and service took forever - we waited over 2 hours for our meals! By the looks on everyones face, we were all in the same boat. If it wasnt for the amazing musician last night, we would have walked out! People really enjoyed the music and he received tremendous applause all night - the only thing at Oggi Bistro that deserved applause last night. At one point during this disastrous evening, the oblivious owner even sat down and spent 20 minutes on his phone - really?! I even heard him telling customers that it was a large tables fault that things were behind - as if the restaurant couldnt manage its bookings to ensure things run smoothly. There were no apologies from anyone. We left and heartily thanked the musician on the way out. The owner, who was sitting again, yelled something out to us in Italian as we were leaving - I would have yelled back but I didnt have the energy. Never going back!

The Titanic of evenings at Oggi Bistro yesterday. Super slow service, terrible food (after almost 3 hours), tilting tables, and a clueless, rude captain (= owner). And just like the Titanic, the angelic music played non-stop as the ship sank. Bravo musician! Boo Oggi Bistro!

Went there with another couple last night. Sam our waitress was great. The veal scalapini was delicious. The music was good. The owner came over and introduced himself and ask if everything was good. I was quite impressed and will certainly return.

Food is okay. I had high hopes for this local restaurant. Starting with the service, the server lacked knowledge about the menu, laughed when I asked what was in the white sangria and said fruit? Then our food came, I understand some salads are pre made and refrigerated, but ours was frozen. No continuity of service throughout the meal, and the service was tardy. Waited almost an hour for the main dish. Found pricing to be deceiving, when my bill came some items were more expensive than the price on the menu. Perhaps the menu needs to be updated. But even then, the price was above average for a less than average meal. I m not one to complain, and while I do hope it was a one time incidence, I probably will not be visiting again.

Had a wonderful experience at Oggi Bistro. The calamari was so delicious, 10/10 recommend. The live music was the perfect touch to the ambience and atmosphere. Great for intimate dining! I would like to point out the tiramisu was not the greatest. It tasted as if it was frozen then thawed - the lady fingers tasted watery rather than having a kick of espresso/coffee.

Weve been wanting to come here for a while and decided to drop in at lunch. While the place was very nice and the menu looked great we found the found didnt do much for us. It was tasty and filling but nothing wowed us. My wife and I shared an arugula and goat cheese salad. Arugula was fresh and the goat cheese was tasty but we noticed that the dressing was a touch on the salty side. That distracted from the salad itself. For main my wife had a fettucine with lobster and a cognac mushroom sauce. The lobster tail was a good size but she found the sauce was boring adding a little salt helped perked it up. She also comment that she couldnt really taste any of the cognac in the sauce. I had the chicken cacciatore special which consisted of a whole leg, potatoes and roasted (?) vegetables. Again here it wasnt outstanding unfortunately rather basic. Other thing to mention is our plates were cold but thankfully the food was hot so it wasnt cooled down. We were disappointed as based on other reviews we were hoping to find another good italian restaurant in our area.

Amazing ambience, especially for the holiday season. Bruschetta bread was the best I ve had, entrees were great and good portion sizes. Some bones in the salmon which was unfortunate. Staff were friendly and courteous.
