Went today for lunch and excellent food and service. The lady who served us today was so good at her job. Will be going again without a doubt. Also, reasonably priced.

Food was superb and the service staff are a credit to the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble and they knew exactly how to deal with a member of our party who is gluten intolerant, pointing out which parts of the dishes were off limits and making sure that the chef could create alternative items. The steak Tournedos Rossini is superb.

Had my sister in laws 60th birthday celebration here in December everything was absolutely fab ! The service and food was excellent. Had a great night celebrating with the family ... Thanjs so much . See you in the future

We visited the Othello for a special birthday occasion with family & friends. Very cheery and polite staff with good service from beginning to end. The food & drinks were excellent! Made our evening very pleasant & enjoyable!

Our family really enjoyed a meze meal with an excellent variety of dishes. Staff could not have been more attentive and the atmosphere was great.

Lovely restaurant not ideal for people with disability to many steps.

I will start by saying the staff were lovely, very attentive and a nice little addition of sparkles on the table once they knew it was date night from our booking. The food however was quite mediocre and not really authentic greek. We started with a starter meze which was just some ice burg lettuce with chopped up onion, cucumber and tomato. Topped with about 6 olives and pieces of feta which you get out of any other cheaper place (i was expecting fresh olives) then one piece of fried halloumi each and the rest of the plate was chopped up shop bought flat bread and dips. For near £15 i was expecting a little more. The mains where nice.. my partner had moussaka which she very much enjoyed and i had the halibut which i enjoyed too but felt was lacking a little taste and no sauce. The potatoes, broccoli and carrots i thought were not very greek. Over all not quite as nice as i was expecting but plenty of potential.

Could not fault Othellos 4 stars all the way

Having a family celebration at the Othello was a particularly pleasant experience last night. The four of us shared delicious starters and then thoroughly enjoyed the mains comprising of different steaks. Everything was beautifully cooked and served and, at the end of the meal, we were all sated . It was all that we hoped it would be. It s not the first time we ve been there and it most certainly won t be the last !

Eat here on a Friday night a few weeks ago. A lovely, lovely restaurant. Food is excellent and the Tournedos Rossini (a blast from the past for me!) is always good. Plenty of vegetables are on the table alongside proper linen napkins, fresh flowers snd candles. Cant recommend this comfy, cosy restaurant with beautiful food and its lovely friendly staff enough!

A lovely restaurant where you are seated in very comfortable surroundings. There is a good choice on the menu and you can have luncheon or dinner. The food was very nice indeed.

We were taken to Othello s by our friends whom we were visiting in Grimsby, they had pre ordered the greek meze. The food was well presented, portion size very good and everything tasted great. the highlights for me were the moules, taramasalata, lamb meatballs and the calamari, the course just kept on coming. We would happily eat here again. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food they were serving. Thank you team Othello s for a great night, next time we are in grimsby we ll be in.

Avoid the meze - absolute rip off !!The five fish dishes we were told to expect consisted of two overcooked mussels and prawns each and a piece of tasteless white fish smothered in a cacky sauce. Also price paid was £5 per person more than stated on website. Added to the unclean plates and surly service NOT a good experience.

Poor food, over priced and staff are useless

Its ok. Service a bit slow, we got our wine in the middle of the mane course and waitress didnt know wine list at all so was messed up with wine. Mushroom stroganoff didnt taste of anything but tomato sauce, steak Diane wasnt very pleasant and Greek salad was just a huge bawl of lettuce with a few chopped tomatoes and cucumbers and no much dressing.

The menu differed to what is shown on their website, but the food was still very good. Service was very friendly and efficient.

Definitely going down hill. My wife book the Meze 5 weeks ago but when we arrived they knew nothing about it. Worse still, they blamed it on us and claimed it had never happened! Resultant food was ok but after years of this being our favourite restaurant, we will not be returning.

This restaurant is a wonderful Greek experience. I can recommend Keleftiko its so authentic of what I tasted in Cyprus. The lunch menu is worth a visit. Forget M and S try Othello for a different more original experience as you wont be disappointed.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant !!! Having lived in Cyprus for several years, and visited several Greek Islands too, Othello seemed the perfect place to celebrate a family birthday and bring back those cherished memories. So glad we did !! From the very first step inside we were looked after so well. The service was excellent and the food divine. To Simon and the staff... thank-you so much , you made it perfect. We WILL see you again, and soon !!!

Very good all round with pleasant reception and all round service enjoyable range on the menu making a choice difficult, really enjoyed the garlic King Prawns.

Visited on a lunchtime. Very good value . Good service, good food. However coffee was more expensive than most places.

What can we say ?? Absolutely fantastic. enjoyed everything about the Othello. Food was beautiful enjoyed everything we ate. Service good and not rushed. Will certainly be returning.

Pleasant service and environment, but come on, I had the mushroom taliatelle as a main dish with roughly 65g of pasta (that s far from a full portion for 1 person) and way too much cream. I wonder if the chef eats his own meals. Fairly disappointing.

Excellent meal for a party of 6, very friendly staff , starters were varied and all very nice,. Mains, same again very tasty and portion size good, we really enjoyed the evening but couldnt manage the desserts, we were all too full. Would deffinatly recommend the orthello and will be visiting again.

The king shrimp was incredibly delicious as was the pastitsio.

Never fails to impress, This is by far the best restaurant in Grimsby, Me and my partner highly recommend it. Ordered delivery service for the first time from the Othello and the standard of food was fantastic, we enjoyed everything we ordered. Big thumbs up from us, we cant wait to dine in the restaurant again and soak up the atmosphere when lockdown is lifted.

Service not good!! Waited about 20minutes at the table before we could get any drinks. Complementary buns were well over done bar 1 thats hadnt even been in the oven. Problem was delt with but shouldnt have been brought to the table in the first place Too long waiting for our order to be taken as each person though the other had done it (only 3 tables and 4 staff were serving) Empty glasses werent take from the table straight away as new drinks were delivered. Food very nice but service badly let you down

Always warm and inviting the staff great and fresh food always brilliant be visiting next week. Staff are great and food is smashing. Wines are nice as well to go with the meal great all round.

This place used to be good, the most over priced pretentious food ! 8.25 for a chicken kebab as a starter with 4 pieces of Measley cold chicken. Food was bang average and really over priced, they charged us for elder flower water which was 3£ a bottle and it was only table water?? Was waiting 90 minutes for mains. Would never eat here again in a million years

I went there for the first time to celebrate my partners birthday week. For the starter we both ordered these oysters that came in this lovely sauce. It was that delicious we even used the bread to clean our plates. The main was perfectly cooked we had this beautiful fish, that came with prawns they were cooked to perfection with a free side of vegetables. The atmosphere was probably the best, lovely quiet romantic music playing in the background. We loved the experience that much that we returned on the second night. We both had the garlic king prawns as a starter, followed by stroganoff the beef was on point. The flavours in that sauce were to die for, truly found new favourite restaurant not just for me but also my partner. Having the owner of the restaurant approaching us and everyone else at their table , getting to know the customers and making sure every thing was perfect really opened our eyes. We felt at home and will definitely return! Perfect restaurant for the quality of the food I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you re looking for a special occasion go there my partner loved it too. Thank you to the chef and I will definitely see you guys soon!

The Othello restaurant on Bethlehem street in Grimsby, opened in the early 1970s making it the longest serving restaurant in Grimsby town centre I think. Its reputation being built around good food and fine dining. Its a pleasingly brightly decorated place with a modern/classical Greek theme. Its well laid out with well presented tables with white table linen, that gives it an extra touch of elegance. Its menus both lunch and evening have a good selection of both modern classics and authentic Greek Cypriot cuisine,these are available to view online,they also have a daily specials menu. It has its own bar so serves alcohol,with a reasonable selection of beers, wines and spirits on offer, and of course it has restrooms. The table service and staff are very good here. Unfortunately its unable to cater for wheelchair users with the restaurant being on the first floor. Theres parking available around the railway station to the rear of the restaurant. Credit cards are accepted here and it has a 5***** food hygiene rating. Food review March 2019. I ordered tempura battered Monkfish and Cod cheeks starter and Grimsby Haddock main course. The starter was excellent a very well presented plate,the fish was perfectly cooked and delicious accompanied with a Mediterranean style salad a delicious lemonaise sauce, a tomato reduction and fresh crusty bread and butter. ( This is one of the best fish starters Ive had in along time,the subtle sharpness of the sauces balanced perfectly without overpowering the delicate flavours of the fish ,obviously a lot of thought had gone into its execution and preparation, hats off to the chef. ) The quality of the Haddock was also a good,a nice meaty fillet with nice white flesh and good crispy batter, it came with freshly fried chips, petit pois and tartare sauce. The quality of both dishes was very good as was the table service. I paid £4.95 for my starter and £6.25 for my main meal plus £2.60 for a pot of tea which I felt was extremely fair considering the quality of the food. I would happily recommend this place.

This is a clean high class restaurant with an extensive menu a good selection of drinks all at very reasonable prices.A great find for us visiting Grimsby.we stayed at the holiday inn express just around the corner.Brilliant Greek food and steaks plus fish meals, including fish and chips.

Thoroughly recommended. Asked for a secluded table and staff obliged. Lovely dinner. Starters lovely. Mains, I had beef stroganoff and partner had chicken a la creme. Beef was beautifully cooked and tender. Both thoroughly enjoyed. Puddings good value and lovely too. Wine well chilled and great wine bucket. Staff attentive and made us feel valued and welcome. Great meal, justifying the competitively balanced price. Thanks to all for a memorable birthday meal x

The food here is simply delicious. My wife and me have been here a number if times and have always been very pleased with the quality of the food and service. We popped in for lunch today, the lunch menu being different, but the food was lovely and was very reasonably priced. The othello has a lovely Greek decor which completes the experience. Pay them a visit.

Last night 10 of us celebrated our friends 80th and Christmas. We all had different menus. The staff, chefs and service was fab. A relaxed atmosphere, fantastic food. Thankyou and well done. Condolences on tbe loss of your owner but how wonderful to carry forward his legacy.

Interesting menu - fusion of Adriatic and Yorkshire!?! Shared a meze my colleague then we each had a ribeye steak. Both were very good and the steak was huge. The waitress was lovely and the place was very pleasant with a relaxed vibe.

The place was pleasant and the staff is friendly. I m amazed by the starter, but the mains seemed a bit disappointing. The duck was a bit dry. However, moussaka was not bad.

So this is a Greek restaurant with an authentic Greek feel but a limited Greek menu... but that doesnt matter the food is really good. Stayed I the area for a few nights and this was probably the better of the places to eat. Fairly priced too. Service was ok as well. The menu has quite a variety offering something for everyone, the drinks were limited to bottled beer, ale and a fair selection of wine (not sure on spirits). All on all worth a visit.

We went for a birthday meal on a Monday night we was a bit unsure as mixed reviews. Im so glad we tried this place service was excellent and most important the food was out of this world I must say we travel all over the country in search of a home cooked special meal. This is exactly what we got with a true essence of Italian food we was very happy with the 3 course meal we choose and we will certainly be returning in the very near future. They also asked on booking if it was a special occasion I mentioned it was my partners birthday and there was a sprinkling of happy birthday sparkles in the table another nice touch. Thank u Othello for making my partners birthday special and to the waitress who was very efficient and polite and nothing was too much trouble Xxx

Superb, if this was in London it would have a michelin star, high quality food full of flavour,steaks perfect, pasta delightful, without doubt the best restaurant in the area!

Went last night hadnt made a reservation but Simon and the staff sorted for us we had a fabulous meal. I had plaice which wasnt on the menu first class food as always.

We visit about four times a year and always find that what ever we order it is always delicious. We can highly recomend a visit, the service is prompt and the girls are very friendly.

Heard the restaurant opens at lunch so took my mother for her birthday Noticed the restaurant has been refurbished and looks elegant, clean & modern with lovely fresh flower displays. Simon made it extra special by putting birthday confetti on the table. Attention to detail, which is not always found in other restaurants. Great food and cooked to perfection, lovely staff. Highly recommend.

Food and services are variable. Sometime it is brilliant. Other time it is terrible. To visit Othello is the luck of the draw.

We had a wonderful meal for seven and enjoyed very much. The food was excellent, service was excellent and all the staff pleasant. Always recomend the Othello and shall return ourselves. xxx
