Went for lunch a couple of days ago. The service and food were excellent. Will definitely go back.

We arrived at 7.30pm and we finished eating at 9.50pm, a very very rude waitress came and literally snatched my plate from me, saying that they close at 10pm. All our food was totally overpriced and overcooked, all in all a very disappointing experience.

Finally decided to try this place. After many recommendations.. Really wish I had not bothered... My meal was not very nice at all.. I had the chicken, chorizo pasta... All I could taste was chorizo.. I know chorizo has a very strong taste, but it just cancelled out any chance of tasting any other flavours.. The chicken was well overcooked, very chewy...and hard.... Really disappointed... Especially for £14..which was one of the cheapest options... Very poor selection of beers.. No Ipas. Its 2023... Get with the times, people like more than flavourless beers and lagers...

Fantastic as always!

Four of us dined here, myself, my wife and my parents. We all thought the food was beautiful. My wife and I had the charcuterie board to share, this had cheese, meats, breads, chutney and dips. It was lovely and (not a complaint) filling. Parents had prawns and chicken satay, again both said it was lovely. For main course my wife and I shared the kofte, which to the other dishes, was ok, and the duck, which was amazing. Mum thoroughly enjoyed the duck, as did dad with the sea bass. No desserts as we was all full. We will definitely eat here again.

We went here to celebrate my partners birthday , after trying on two previous occasions to dine here ( we arent local ). We were not disappointed, the food was out of this world .. unfortunately for us, and we do take half the blame. we did encounter a couple of issues mainly based on the menus only being on the wall. We felt incredibly uncomfortable standing in the middle of the floor area, staring over the heads of two couples dining. I choose rustic breads with olives , but unfortunately used the word flatbread , which then prompted the server to ask what flavour , which confused me even more so in a panic ditched the starters all together we ordered our main meals,we were asked what sauces we would like , we both declined and server explained each served with a stir fry base . . When food arrived , she asked if we were sure we hadnt wanted sides ,we then realised it was included and we should have spotted that on the menu boards ! .. BUT , what we did eat was AMAZING, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection .. 100% we will be back , and next time we will read the menu entirely and have the most amazing night out !

An invitingly small but bijou establishment. The maître d never stopped smiling and exuded a sense of pride, and so she should. The menu was small but exciting and the flavours exploded the taste buds. It is an experience I will be keen to repeat when I visit Grimsby again.

The best steak I ve had in a very long time! Lovely salmon starter, accompanying dauphinois, sauce and stir fried veg delicious. Worth every penny. It was slightly noisy due to a few loud women in another group and unfortunately with no carpets, curtains to dampen the sound it spoilt it a bit.

You need menus for the tables didnt like people stood over our table reading menus, food lacking for the price , potatoes cooked then reheated, very little meat on skewers lamb kofte lacking flavour and jerk chicken, wouldnt recommend sorry ! Staff are friendly and assertive

Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian I do sometimes have difficulty finding a menu that suits me. Sage have options even to the point of mix and match, it is so nice to have exactly what you want, not always easy as a vegetarian . Definitely recommend a visit, I will be visiting again most definitely.

Kid-friendliness: Although no kids menu were very accommodating towards our 4 yr old

Wonderful 3 courses, everything cooked perfectly. Food served at exactly the right time after each course. Friendly, attentive staff and reasonable prices.

MAGNIFICENT!! In every respect - great food, great wine, excellent service, unhurried dining. No less than 10 out of 10 from all 4 of us.

The food was incredibly delectable and the setting of the place is illustrious! I simply could not fault the experience that I had when I went whatsoever! Certainly a gem of a food place.

Was really nice, Felt really welcomed by the staff. However the boards for the food were awkwardly placed behind other couples. Good food and GF said theres female products in the female toilets.

Excellent first experience; great food, (best {8oz} fillet) I have had in a long time, and so nice to find a chef who does NOT feel the need to put cheese on dauphinois, ( I would have sliced potato a little thinner. But hey! A different presentation is always a welcome change). Lovely! We will return on our next visit from the deep south. Thankyou, sabine, et al.

Waited a long time to go back to this restaurant, I highly recommend it as it never fails. The new decor is lovely. Had a very tasty meal all fresh produce. We will be returning in the near future. Owners are really nice people.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the past few years, sometimes with my partner, friends & even hired the whole place for my 40th. I can hand on heart say that I have never had a bad experience & last Friday was our first meal back here for over a year. The food was as lovely as ever (especially their delicious burgers) & the service was faultless. Would highly recommend to anyone & everyone

Been here a couple of times now, most recently for our wedding anniversary meal. I would highly recommend a visit, the food is excellent and very tasty. Too full for puddings as we all had a starter, but was offered a dessert as a take out option, nothing was too much trouble. 5 * service. Thank you

First time back after lock down. And it didnt disappoint, clean safe environment. Best pasta dish I have had in a restaurant for several years. Well worth a visit.

This was our first ever visit to Sage in Grimsby and I must say from going in the door to leaving was a pleasant experience. The menu is on blackboards and you just choose what you want. Its best to book a table because it is a small venue. There is a waitress service.Sabena was on table service. She was very attentive and relaxed. The food we had was excellent and did not have to wait long. This eatery is well worth a visit for a special occasion. Prices of meals vary. All in all we will visit again soon.

Love this place. staff are friendly and the food is amazing. For the first time in 25 years my husband spoilt me to a Valentines meal i was not disappointed.

Steak was amazing

Great food.. The chef is absolutely top of his game. I have eaten in many famous restaurants and this place is a hidden gem for foodies. Service was good hence why it didnt get 5 stars. However the ladie on front of house was very attentive and very good. And I do think she was very busy with a house full. This restaurant is a place you would happily recommend to friends and family. I for one will be bringing close friends and also business friends to this place.

Recently brought a house in Grimsby and currently venturing out to places at weekends when we visit. Booked at the restaurant,helpful service with booking enquiry and where to park. Atmosphere calm,portions sufficient, food and service excellent with many nice touches by staff. Steak large and well cooked, pavlova to die for!!!! Extremely pleasant evening, definitely will return with friends.

Fantastic food in a great atmosphere. Ideal for romantic meals or small groups. Only downside is its cash only, but this was made clear upon reserving a table, and the quality of the food and service massively outweighs the inconvenience. One of, if not the best restaurant, in Grimsby.

Food was fantastic. Had the steak. Cooked to perfection and melts in the mouth.

Not a bad place, prices are a bit higher than usual but the food is pretty good. Fancy someplace different its worth it. Be advised its cash only

Simply five star food and customer service. Every course I ate was delicious. For starters the Thai Chicken Satay came with a very tasty peanut sauce. The main course fillet steak was cooked exactly as I like it, medium-rare and nicely seasoned. And as the steak was so good, the tasty pepercorn sauce made great dipping for the hand-cut chips. Definitely recommend the sharing platter for desert so you dont miss out.

Nice restaurant, good food.... However couldnt rate higher because they only accept cash which can be inconvenient. Also its a very narrow room and the menus are all on the wall, which can be awkward when youre trying to eat your meal and you have people standing next to your table trying to read the blackboard menus on the walls, which is quite off-putting. This is a negative for me when its busy and it could easily be rectified by putting photocopied menus on the tables which would be much less intrusive for people already eating and trying to enjoy their meals.

Wonderful food nice start to the weekend!!!

Absolutely outstanding! Celebrated my wifes 60th birthday party last night, taking up the entire restaurant. Forty five guests, just the right number to create a great party atmosphere. The buffet provided was one of the best I have seen, freshly prepared meats, pate and fish platters. ( Sage will tailor choices to suit ) Couldnt thank Ian and his lovely wife enough for making the occasion really special and catering for all our needs. Wouldnt think of going anywhere else to cater for a similar event in the future, our guests were highly impressed with the buffet and the venue.

Possibly the best lemon cheesecake I have ever tasted...
