Staff friendly, service and food awesome. Bistro has its regulars and even before we could figure out what to order an elderly woman walked in sat down, was given a coffee and greeted with a smaile. Moments later she was served breakfast without her even ordering it. Hidden treasure we found while touring the area.
A gem in the Niagara region. Simple diner food done right. Best breakfast in the area hands down. And super affordable. The home fries with onions are fantastic! Also, the pizzas are out of this world. Ice cream for dessert. Let's go!!!

This is probably a great place to go eat. We went on a Monday for brunch and it took way too long to get our food or service in general. Like many places, it is tough getting staff and I think that is what happened here. The staff was extremely nice and were trying. The food tastes good as well. All in all it is actually a cool little place. I feel bad giving this review but it took 2 hours to eat brunch.
We came here after leaving another establishment that was ridiculously slow and understaffed. This place had us seated and menus provided and drinks before the other place even acknowledged us. So already this place is off to a great start. The waitress was friendly, efficient and accurate with our order. We were very pleased with this restaurant. The reason I gave it only 4 stars on the food, is because my pancakes tasted like they were made on the same grill as meat (I am a vegetarian) and my Father's bacon (he asked for very crispy) had only 1 slice crispy. Other than that we were very pleased with this diner, and would return.
This is a little hidden gem! If you didn't know about it, you would drive by it. My buddy took me to this place. And he actually found out about it from a guy at the Grimsby Hyundai. They have a breakfast special that is served from 7am to 3pm. They also have different specials each day. The waitress was really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious! Instead of going to the food court off of Casablanca, drive a few minutes more and head to this place... you won't be disappointed.
I went here the other day for dinner, the restaurant is very nice and has a old diner feel to it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The menu has great options for all kinds of dishes, they also offer a breakfast special till the afternoon. I had the classic hamburger and home fries and gravy. The hamburger was excellent handmade and grilled to perfection. The home fries were nice and crispy and the gravy was thick and very tasty. My girlfriend had the western sandwich which she enjoyed very much. We would definitely visit this establishment again when we are in the neighborhood. I recommend this restaurant.
Met with a few friends on the patio. Server was very nice. I had the pepperoni pizza which was delicious 4.5/5. Great crust and sauce and loved the copious amounts of pepperoni cups. It was a great size, great value. My friend who had the burger said it was like 3.5, the salad vinaigrette was too vinegary for him and the burger was ok. Other friend who had breakfast said the potatoes needed more seasoning and he would have liked more onions. He also rated 3.5. So 4 overall in my books is a good rating and it’s worth a try.

This is our go to every Sunday morning for breakfast. Food is amazing, service is great, Loraine is friendly, and chatty. Please add corned beef hash! You would do it amazing I have no doubt! Also beans for breakfast would be a nice option as well,

Had sausage, 2 egg breakfast special with hash browns, rye toast and bottomless cup of coffee. Tasty food, great service. Pleasant atmosphere. Would have dined outside but weather was a little too hot and humid (although I did notice ceiling fans in the covered patio).

We absolutely love this place. Tucked away in Grimsby at the base of the escarpment already makes it appealing. The staff and food are great. We regularly hit the burger and wing nights.
Found this little hidden gem a few months ago and Im certainly glad I did. The food is superb and the prices are fantastic. Their Scotch Broth soup is to die for as is everything I have ordered from here, but being a soup lover.... I was very happy. Stopped in for an early lunch and so glad we did. From the warm friendly greeting to the amazing food and great service. We have a quirky food allergy and without any hesitation it was accommodated. So glad we found this place. We will be back to try more of the menu!

Great food, great prices, and great staff. Their pizza is amazing, as is all their other food. The best part is the consistency - if you order an item it will taste the same every time; they never have an off day. This is a great go-to place if youre in the mood for a good, hearty meal and dont want to deal with the ridiculous way most restaurants now try to overcomplicate food. Ill take Grimsby Diner food any day of the week!
We are brunch people and always like to check out new places. The biggest turn-off was the gas station in front. The atmosphere inside was reminiscent of an old diner. Staff was friendly. However, my omelet was overcooked and toast over buttered - so much so that the excess butter never melted. I will leave it at that .

Quite a gem of a diner. Perfect size. Food was great. Best part was the ice globe for my Coke! Very cool touch. Great spot to visit if in the area.
Solid diner food and great service. Huge surprise was the water. Weird right? But it s delicious and refreshing. Burgers, wings, poutine, pizza, fish and chips all great and perfectly executed with good size portions. We have family down in the area and this place has not disappointed yet.

Had an amazing impromptu Valentine s dinner last night. It was wing night but unfortunately they were sold out when we arrived at 5:30. They are our go to place for wings, love the dried Cajun. We were shown the Valentine s special and went for it. I had been craving Prime Rib and even though it was cooked medium it was delicious, served with a jus and horseradish. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and there were lots of them. We also loved the Buffalo Chicken Soup, crispy, hot sweet potato fries (lots of them)and the cheesecake with the berry coulis. Congratulations on what I hope was a very successful day! Made my Valentine s Day that much more special.

One of those tucked away restaurants worthy of being checked out . We had the classic hamburger with fries. Hamburger must be close to 1/2 PD. Homemade, not frozen . Served with lots of Homemade fries. They also have daily specials and serve breakfast till 3pm. Excellent service super clean including restrooms. We will be back
Super cute gem in Grimsby, wouldnt think much of it driving by but I promise if you love breakfast or burgers (extra 5 stars for the burgers being grass fed) its worth the stop. Very well kept and the service is very friendly, feels like home after your first visit.

Someone told us we have to try their wings as they are the Best In Town ...and they werent kidding!! 1lb of wings (wings are a NOT the tiny wimpy wings either!!) you get garlic bread, carrots, celery and blue cheese included. My mouth is watering as a type this. Cant wait to go back!! Definitely our new place to go!!
Lovely little breakfast spot. The food was really good. My daughter says they have the best bacon ever and I may have to agree. Their breakfast potatoes are amazing and they make a good cup of coffee. Fast and good service. Small place so there may be a wait!

Food is great and prices are really good. I have eaten both Breakfast and Lunch here and have to say I have no complaints besides the bacon being a bit crispy but that is just an opinion. Staff are very friendly and prices are very reasonable for the quality that you get. Alot of stuff here is homemade.

Parking: Parking shares lot with gas station. Busy place for Saturday morning breakfast. But was able to find a spot with easy walker accessible access close to front door. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to entrance is great for walking access. Well done.

First time here. Recommended by a new friend and said the prices are reasonable and breakfast is great. They ARE reasonably priced with NORMAL specials each day of the week. Nothing crazy so its all stable. We went for breakfast at noon, but it was burger day and we got burgers. So good! Darn it, we gotta go back for breakfast ;). Weekends are PACKED! Treat yourself mid week and check it out, seats were available for lunch right away for us. Such a nice witty host and I think one of the owners.

The food was delicious, priced fairly, all home made and our server was just the sweetest thing on earth. When I need a place with good breakfast, a cozy, familiar vibe, and maybe one of the best shaded patios ever, I come here. The Diner Bistro is that secret you don t want to share with anyone, lest it start getting packed. For one, it s nestled in a gorgeous part of Grimsby that directly faces the Niagara escarpment. There s no sight quite like it while you eat. The staff feel like they ve always been your friends, and the service is top notch. And yes, all the standard diner fare is worth trying, though the Italian poached eggs (which come bathed in a beautiful, homemade marinara) is a no-brainer. But here s the real secret: The pizza here is deadly. I m borderline obsessed with pizza. I ve had it all, thanks to a past professional life in which I never stopped traveling. This pizza is just something else. I d say that, style wise, it s closer to Roman than anything else. It boasts a consistent crispness across the entire pie, not just the edge. And some parts are a little burnt, which makes it flirt with Napoli style pizza. It s like a hybrid of the two, which is just irrefutably awesome. There s a slight tang to the sauce, which means it isn t sweet which is also awesome. Tomato sauce should not be sweet. And every topping tastes like it was sourced locally. Just get it. Everything s homemade too, and you can see the tomatoes they grow for their dishes right outside. Don t skip this place next time you re in Grimsby. But don t tell too many people about it either.

First time there. Home fries were the best part of the breakfast. Unfortunately, food tasted as if it was saturated is grease, and fryer oil tasted old. The service was great. Diner looked cute. I would give this Diner a repeat visit.

After the Remembrance Day Ceremony we went for breakfast. It was PACKED! Our waitress was the only one on the floor, as the other waitress called off. We expected to wait longer for this reason. We were pleasantly surprised, our meal came out quickly. The food was so delicious and cooked perfectly! Their sausages were the BEST sausages I ve ever tasted! Not to mention our waitress and another gentleman came around several times to refill our tea and coffee. The staff is so nice and I appreciate their hustle . Our go to place used to be JJ s, truth be told, their is a really unfriendly waitress who works there and the food has gone down hill. The Bistro is definitely our new go to brunch spot. Thank you for a most enjoyable visit!

Don t know about lunch but DONT go here for breakfast. Portions are small, no care goes into the prep, burnt coffee, and the food is OVERPRICED. Waitress stood over my husband while he was paying, eyeing him down to see if he would tip. Worst experience ever. Go to Elm Street Diner for breakfast. Better food, better experience. 0/10 will not be returning. Ew.

Fantastic little spot for lunch, brunch, breakfast, and dinner! We stopped in for the breakfast, my spouse ordered the poutine. The place was a bit busy but the service was prompt and the food was so so good. This will definitely be our new spot for breakfast and poutine when we re craving it!
Tony makes the greatest dishes. The food is amazing, the staff and owners are super friendly and very accommodating. I have held my business christmas party at the diner. Everyone always comments how great the food is! Its a must try if you love great tasting food!
Never really ate there. Had icecream in the summer was very good. But I have heard amazing feed back from other people who have eaten there. They said that the food was delicious. So hopefully one day I will get to taste it. Dont live that far away so fingers crossed soon. Hopefully this was helpful for others

Ate here with my family on a Tuesday ($14.95 Burgers) and enjoyed my BBQ burger. Nice little diner, friendly staff and in a nice location. Will definitely be coming back!

I dont understand why you have no ICE in yr restaurant. NY drinks were warm..You need to invest on an Ice machine maker. Canadain Tire has them I suggest you purchase one for the upcoming hot weather season.

Had a great experience at The Diner Bistro. We had the spicy chicken sandwich and chicken parm. Portions were generous, food was delicious and the service was great. The owner chatted with us and was very friendly. The leftovers were even delicious cold later. Would recommend.

My friend & I stopped here for icecream at the end of a lovely day visiting Grimsby Beach. Then, I discovered that I was hungry so we decided on diners as well. The fish & chips (or rather the homemake potatoes fried) we ordered were out of this world. One taste of the fried, I forgot all about the fish and literally inhaled all of the delicious fried with the tartars sauce!!! Yum! Well, the unfortunate thing was that we were both too full and had no room for ice-cream! But, perhaps it s a good thing because it will give us an excuse to visit it again. A shout out to Josephine, our server, for her friendly, efficient, and excellent service!!!
Just got back from dinner here tonight. What a bonus to have this place in Grimsby. Prices are great, food is better, and portion sizes are really nice. Ive had breakfast here which was also great, but dinner stole the show tonight. We had the pizza (wow) and wings special, and meat and cheese lasagna. Ive been here 12 yrs, and without question these are the best wings in town. After feeling not so impressed with some of the traditional Grimsby spots, The Diner Bistro absolutely impresses. Well done, and well see you again soon!

We ate outside. The food was fabulous!!! I reheated my left pizza for lunch and it tasted even more delicious if that could b possible. These gentlemen have done their homework. Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection with herbs and spices not salty!!!!
If this place was able to talk it would say that it has exceptional ice cream. And that you should stop what youre doing and buy some immediately.

My experience here was great. The food was delicious and the service was top of the line. It felt like I was eating at the Royal York hotel. I came again to see if the food and service was consistent. I was pleased it was. They have a patio and indoor eating . The washrooms are well kept as well I hope to be coming here more often.

I have been at the Bistro with my work friends and had a great experience with the food drinks and service that they provide. Everything was perfect. After I decided to take my family for breakfast and they loved it. The restaurant and food surpassed their expectations and mine as well.

We were looking for breakfast and came upon this restaurant. It was a Friday around 1030am and they were quite busy for a small place. Our hopes were up for a good breakfast. Unfortunately it was just ok. It wasnt bad but value means allot to me. As someone who knows food costing vs value, I know when a restaurant is focused on giving customers a great experience. The attached pictures are of our breakfast we ordered. As you can see the portions are small on a small plate. The peameal was very thin, homefries were skimpy. I asked for ketchup but did not receive. I was ok with that after noticing they use those red ketchup refillable squeeze bottles so not sure how clean or brand it is. Coffee refills were plenty but mugs were tiny so they emptied quickly, thus using allot of cream. I was happy that they gave 4 slices of perfectly cooked bacon. With a little refining they can really be a good breakfast place.
I have been to this place a couple of times. Its my go to when Im doing my toronto to niagara and back breakfast spot. The employees are very friendly and the food is fantastic. The patio is ok. Honestly for being tucked away next to a gas station you would almost miss it. Im glad I didnt miss it. Im looking forward to my next cycling trip so I can visit again.

Disappointed. Fresh cut fries were not fresh at all. Tasted bitter from old oil. The chicken was equally tough and bitter tasting. Not the freshness and quality I expected from this local spot. It came highly recommended but we were not impressed.
