Lovely food and drinks. Staff were friendly and polite. Well definitely be returning.

Food was below average, particularly at the price point. Ive visited Miller and Carter numerous times over the years and had an enjoyable experience, but the last two visits have been very disappointing and I probably wont be returning again. My starter was cold and both my Wifes and my main were pretty cold too. We didnt have any cutlery to eat our mains, so by the time I could get someones attention to request some cutlery, our mains had also gone cold. A gentleman sat on the next table across from us also complained that his food was cold. Onion loaf didnt seem fresh, steaks were pretty average and the chunky chips that are a paid upgrade, were also substandard. The waitress who served us did try hard, however, when we needed assistance, she was never anywhere to be seen, but when we didnt need assistance and were trying to enjoy our meal, she kept interrupting asking if everything was ok. Drinks take a long time to arrive and it also took a very long time to clear the plates after we had finished. All in all, a pretty poor experience.

Friendly service but meal was disappointing. Meals were cold and steaks tasteless . Certainly not worth the cost and will not be visiting again .

Cheaper than expected when you re not paying for alcoholic beverages. I love the beef dripping sauce & onion loaf from Miller & Carter, would definitely recommend. We were also served by the lovely Yaz as well who was really attentive and friendly.

I was at this restaurant on Saturday, and the food was a 4 out of 10 steak was just full of gristle. the waiters were so long getting to you that you got fed up .when I showed him the gristle on my plate, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off.the place was so dark that i had to use my flash torch on my phone to see the menu

No expense speared when you visit this fine food restaurant,with some truly great offers on midweek dining & lots of other treats to look out it a must visit for a special treat.

I booked a table for me and my wife while we were staying at a nearby caravan site. It was our first try of a Miller and Carter, and we were really glad we booked. After being shown to our table by a lovely, polite young woman, we were greeted by our waitress Hannah. She was polite, friendly, and helpful. She even asked if we were celebrating anything special. Our food and drinks arrived in good time, and all were lovely and very tasty. My wife tried her first ever Pornstar Martini, which she really enjoyed. We particularly liked the idea of the mini dessert and coffee. My only slight criticism, being a coffee lover, is my coffee was rather weak, which was a shame. We would definitely book again next time were staying in Cleethorpes.

The whole meal was beautiful, our server Demi was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Cannot think of anything to improve on. Parking: Plenty of free parking with close proximity to the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Lots of familys in the restaurant and they were well catered for.

Food was good, but expensive for what it is. Overrated. Staff want you out pretty quick and clear plates off your table literally the second you put your knife and fork down.

We came to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and we unfortunately did not enjoy our evening. It didn t appear to by very busy with only the first half of the restaurant being used, we chose to have drinks in the bar first as we arrived early but were told that our table was already ready for us despite us arriving early. We had our drinks and were then seated at approx 6:20pm to the left of the toilets, the restaurant itself was quite chilly and so my wife actually didn t remove her coat throughout our meal, a few of the other guests sat around us were also wearing jackets. At 18:30pm we both ordered some more drinks and our food, nearly 40 minutes later at exactly 19:06 our scallops arrived at the table, when we had finished our starters we put our plates at the end of the table, where it took a while for them to be removed, we then waited for our main courses to come out, they arrived at the table at exactly 19:37pm, however the tomato on both plates was cooked but stone cold, as was the onion loaf on both plates, the seasoned fries on one plate were lukewarm warm at best and one of the steaks was over cooked. We have visited miller and carter on several occasions and know that this is not the usual standard, so was waiting for the server to come back a few moments later to ask how our meal was as they usually do however she never appeared and in the meantime our meals were getting colder than they already were when they arrived, so we decided to eat them. We had noticed that there only appeared to be one server in the restaurant and short of getting up and going to look for someone there really wasn t an awful lot we could have done at that point. I think with our table being around the corner and out of sight we were almost forgotten about. We paid nearly £130 for our meal and drinks and left the restaurant very disappointed at 20:15pm. We spent nearly 2 hours seated at the table and unfortunately cannot understand why it took so long for us to have 2 courses, as I said above we have been to the miller and carter a good few times and it has always been our first choice for a more special, up market evening and we have dined here on much busier nights and have never waited so long for food and have never had issues with how inattentive the staff have been. Unfortunately when asked by our friends and family how our meal was it has been described as a more pub grub like experience on this occasion.

Had a lovely lunch for my Birthday 3 courses for £19-95,staff were lovely Vivky who served us was very helpful,will go back soon.

Management training is lacking. Chefs were turning out food which was left on the pass to cook further under the heat lamps. Communication across the pass was almost nil. After delivering menus and taking a drink order the table staff announced , No Calamari; this could have been communicated earlier rather than disappoint customers. Being in Grimsby I was surprised to hear a lack of fish! Table service was focused on drinks as opposed to meals ready on the pass. Steaks were poor, vegetables oily. Chicken was tender and cooked well. Deserts were good. View of the pass showed a clear disregard for food waiting for service. Priorities towards customers is lacking. People waiting at reception, manager walking through them to serve table. Wrong priority. Nice building and decor but had better service in McDonalds. Next morning I went to Riby street and picked up 5kg bag of calamari rings . Really need to get your act together.

Our server Vicky was excellent, extremely helpful, funny and thoughtful. We visited for my husbands birthday meal and couldnt have asked for a better venue or server! Delicious food and drinks, nice relaxed atmosphere.

The food quality was amazing however the experience was ruined by another guest who had far too much to drink and vomited down himself and all over the floor while my wife and I was half way through our anniversary dinner.

Really not impressed with the prices of alcohol and the price for just a simple cheese burger with fryes £17.25 I found fryes to salty and burger to greasy so for 2 burgers and £3.45 service charge total just short of £40 Place was nicely decorated though

Family dinner out, husband and I had a steak and our children ( teens) had burgers. Husbands T bone steak was lovely, my ribeye was full of flavour more rare than medium but I didnt mind. The burgers were really good especially the signature burger ( it was full of meat). We were not keen on the onion loaf, it was dry and a little bit burnt. Everything else was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was quiet even though it was Friday night. The staff was very polite and friendly.

The portions of onion loaf were far too dry, the chunky chips werent the best quality with a lot of scrappy bits. The rest of the meals were excellent though and the service was fast and very friendly.

Would 100% recommend this to anyone the service from Brandon was 10/10

Dear Miller & Carter Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with the experience my family and I had during our recent visit to your restaurant. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the service at the reception was less than welcoming, which immediately set the tone for an unsatisfactory visit. When it comes to dining out, food is not just about sustenance it s about the overall experience and happiness it brings. Unfortunately, that was missing during our visit. The table we were offered was clearly more suited for a quick meal rather than a comfortable, enjoyable sit-down with family. It felt impersonal and inappropriate for a relaxed dining experience, which put us off entirely. Given the situation, we spoke to the duty manager and informed them of our decision to leave without placing an order. We had looked forward to a pleasant meal but left feeling disappointed instead. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter to ensure future guests do not have the same experience. A Customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption on our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider on our business. He is a part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. We had a wonderful evening celebrating my husbands birthday and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Chateau Briand and it was cooked to perfection. Our server was Maisie and she was very attentive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back in the future. Thank you!

Demi was great and the food was amazing

£100 just to be ignored most of the time. Steak over cooked had to be sent back. Desserts must have been sat ages because I received a toffee pudding with milk. Not even a goodbye on the way out. Oh and the lovely bloke screaming and swearing at the manager in front of my young child just topped it off.

Non alcohol drinks, ok. Starter of camembert was decent, the 16oz ribeye which recommends it being done medium is not so great. Steak is dry and very salty, chips cold. The creme brulee was nice. But the restaurant was very cold, people were putting their coats on.

Always a lovely meal. A treat tho as quite pricey.

First time at Miller & Carter. Came with friends who had been before and loved it. Much roomier inside than it looks, tastefully decorated and quite pleasant. The service was excellent and our server Yasmine was very attentive & friendly but not intrusive. There was a longish delay between some courses but not enough to question as it gave you time to chat rather than having your food thrown at you as if they wanted you in and out we never felt any pressure that way. We cannot fault the food in any way at all. First course scallops with crispy bacon and apple sauce (okay I will say we thought the apple sauce was an odd combo to have with scallops but didnt affect the enjoyment of them). Then had the simplest of things next, a wedge of iceberg lettuce with honey & mustard dressing and bacon pieces. My god this was delicious and I would never think of eating iceberg like that! Fab. Main course I had 16oz rib-eye steak and my wife had an 8oz filet steak. They recommend the ribeye medium and the filet medium-rare however when it came the ribeye was more medium-rare which is actually how I prefer it and it just melted in my mouth. My wifes filet was equally as lovely. On recommendation from our friends we had beef dripping gravy and red wine gravy in a pot and a slice of onion loaf both amazing tasting. The chunky chips were cooked just right, crispy on outside and fluffy in the middle. Desserts were chocolate brownie, chocolate orange bomb and New York cheesecakes all totally delicious. Drinks and cocktails really nice. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening and really could not pick fault with anything. Value for money? We thought so, maybe not for a regular visit but for a special treat as the bill came to £140 per couple but the ladies had two cocktails each which add up, but saying that we had a meal at The Ship Inn at Barnoldby le Beck a few months ago and that came to £120 for two so in the context of things not that bad and the quality of food and service top class. Well recommended and will go back. Parking: Plenty of spots. Well lit.

This is only ever been the second time we have visited, the first time for my 12 year old, who exclaimed the steak was amazing! The steak was juicy and moist and tasted delicious. Our server Demi was very attentive and checked back with us that our food was ok and that we had sufficient drinks. We had a.pudding that said for sharing between 2 but had between 3 of us and was the perfect portion size. It is expensive but the quality is great and when we have another special occasion Im sure we will be back again.

A bit disappointed really, we love our steaks and dont get me wrong the steak we had as a sharer was nice but was it worth £60+? Not so sure . What I really dont get is why you would even think about serving a quarter of a cabbage with sprinkles of flavour over it? The sauce on the other hand was really good. We ordered a flambe which we never got as it took over 40mins and by that time our taxi was on its way but they did take that off the bill. Would we go back? Probably not I can cook a big daddy steak from Lidl which we share for £6 without the bloody cabbage!

Good food. Excellent service. Highly recommended. The 3 course offer was good value. Dietary restrictions: One member of our party is crustaceans intolerant. He was made aware of any food that could possibly have traces within it. We all thought our service was first class. Thank you.

Our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The food and drink were fantastic. We was looked after from the moment we entered the building. Our waitress was brilliant throughout the evening. We even had a surprise at the end of our meal. (See photo). Would recommend Miller & Carter to everyone.

The food was cold the atmosphere was cold the service was cold. I didnt get me change from paying cash...wont be going back, what a shame! Im Responding to your reply. We made a complaint at the time. It took 10 minutes for you to come over to us after we made the complaint to the waiter. your response was, for you to put the meat on the grill to warm it back. When Ive nearly finished what I was eating as it took so long to come back to us. (because I was hungry after being at work for 12 hours I didnt want to wait longer than we already had. Because I asked my daughters starter to come out with the mains and was told that cant happen. Which was also cold) my daughter doesnt really eat meat only fish. So she had to watch us eat our tea because shed finished hers as her main was the Prawns starter. So after spending over a 100 pounds for sub standard food and the way you let us leave paying full price for terrible service and cold food we will not be back.

Food was delicious and service was outstanding. We went on a busy Saturday night. The waitress was new but she was lovely. We had camembert which was beautiful, lamb for main which melted in your mouth with flavour and a burger. It was a very nice treat for us, weve not been disappointed yet.

Staff need retraining waited half hour for a starter to be told there was a technical issue then to wait another hour was offered complimentary drink to then be charged on my bill for them starter came cold mains came cold steak not cooked right had to cancel kids pudding as it was getting late and still had to wait for them was in there over 2 hours with 3 kids getting tired and frustrated

Vegetarian options: The crown prince squash salad was a good vegetarian choice, however, the salad and grain components were inadequate, especially for the price. The 6 florets of cauliflower were wholly inadequate for an addition of protein! Food

Onion loaf seemed old, chewy on top and stodgy on the bottom, upgraded to chunky chips for £1 extra very tasty but Was only about 10 chips which was disappointing. The Actual meat (ribeye) was beautiful. For a £35 meal wasn t overly impressed.

Gave two people at the table food poisoning from the 12oz ribeye, rang up to warn them about a possible dodgy batch but they didn t want to know. Service was very poor also, would not recommend

Miller & Carter Grimsby - Service was good and prompt. Decor, overall setting and ambience very nice. Food was overall acceptable quality, but the quantity of food you receive for the price you pay is very disappointing and needs looking at. I ordered a side dish of scallops with my literally tiny sirloin, and received a total of 2 scallops! Ridiculous. On another note, it would be nice if you could separate an area/time for families with young children, as there were kids running around every 5 minutes and being noisy, which ruined the atmosphere of our meal somewhat. Doesnt quite work as a fine steak dining experience, its like a much more expensive Wetherspoons. Parking: Plenty

The owners responded to my review by saying hope to see you again! You didnt digest what I said properly. We wont be back again. It was not an enjoyable meal, so why would we pay £50 to possibly not enjoy a meal again! Also, I did say it was a birthday meal. We were not going to ruin his evening and fall out with friends by complaining on the night. Hence why Ive chosen this route to say, Its not a nice meal. We chose meals that were not to be repeated. Because of your response, Ive downgraded your service from 4 to 2 stars. It was terribly expensive for nothing special. The veg was a touch above raw. I did ask for a well-done burger, but it came burnt, inc the bacon. It really was not nice. It was a birthday meal, and the birthday boy enjoyed his steak. But it was as already said, expensive for what it was. As such, we didnt complain because we were guests of the birthday boy.

As there were some big parties in the restaurant the standard of our food for a party of 3 people was not up to previous visits, not only was the food barely warm, the steak was not nearly as good as previous visits, however this was addressed by the waitress and our bill was adjusted accordingly, I hope we can return however my husband will take a bit of persuading.

This was our first visit in the late afternoon Staff were very good but unfortunately cant say the same about the food. We ordered from the set menu, mushrooms some warmer then others the Calamari was greasy Pork was on the dry side and my Chicken was Very dry the sauces were like water and cold my chips were hot they did offer to replace my chicken but I declined

Very disappointed that the£50 voucher I took was out of date by a month I never realised they went out of date M&C have cashed in £50 for nothing in return This was the main reason we had visited as we hadn t been for a long while We spent over £100 expecting to redeem the voucher so spent more than anticipated after it was too late. It was a first-time visit for my wife and I to celibation my 67th birthday. Although most everything was OK, that was it, just OK. Unfortunately, the aged steak I ordered was medium rare. When I was quite clear, I wanted it rare. The experience fell short of our expectations.

Visited on a nice quiet Monday evening as a special treat for out recent anniversary. By a bizarre coincidence we walked in 5 minutes after my wifes parents who were also celebrating a belated anniversary. The staff quickly rejigged things so that we could sit together and we all had a wonderful time. The food was as always excellent we thoroughly enjoyed the chateaubriand. Special mention for our server Mel who provided excellent, efficient and friendly service consistent with our previous experiences. This restaurant continues to be our goto for special occasions.

The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. I just wish the price was lower. I would then come more often. Lovely place, if you have never been you must try it. You will not be disappointed. I love this place.

Been too many times to count. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, dress code is smart & smart casual, the drinks are very refreshing and the food is top tier. Absolutely love it!! Appalling service in grimsby. Normally love coming here, we arrived 10 minutes early for our table at 14:20 to be told it wasnt available yet to have a drink in the bar after 45 minutes we still hadnt been shown a table, and looked in the restaurant area to see only 4 tables with people sat at them and plenty of empty tables. The member of staff them claimed he thought we were just having a drink.. and a table would be ready soon but not soon enough to be able to pick our son up from school so we decided to leave ...completely ruined my wifes birthday celebrations.

The food was lovely, and we got a lovely surprise icecream plate to celebrate being child free for the week. Bronwyn our server was amazing, so friendly and chatty, she went out her way to make sure we had a great experience. Thank you

The food quality I cannot complain about. But when it takes 1hr 35min for your starter to arrive. Then hear we are 2hr15min and still no mains. Yet all the tables around us have had mains and one has had desert and their bill.. not happy were walking out

Been there this evening walked in 5.45pm. Was told to wait 15mins for table to be ready. So had a drink. Not an issue. But this is where it begins. We then were taken to are table. We ordered food (starters and mains) are starters arrived after 15 mins. They were terrible, no flavour, bland as hell. The food was then taken away. Expecting mains to come fairly quick. However they didn t over an hour and 30 mins they still hadn t arrived. When they did finally come. Chips were hard, indigestible, steak tougher than my boots, onion thing I could put window through with, I think I ve chipped a tooth. This is where I left attempting anything on this plate. And 5 other people on the table agreed. As did other customers who were also leaving the restaurant. It was that bad I ve gone for a McDonalds. I been to other miller and carters this is by far the worst. I d even go as far to say worst food place I ve ever been. Also as for drinks service I kept taking my self to the bar because it was that slow. A restaurant they should be no more. Close them down terrible. An embarrassment to food places.

We had a table booked for 7:30pm for our mothers day meal, upon arrival we were asked to sit in the bar to wait as they were running over, when finally sat at our table at 8pm we were told it was an hours wait till we were served our food and that most food was unavailable, after an hour we spoke to management who was very rude (Corey) who said it was a normal amount of time to wait and it was expected as it was mothers day!! When our food arrived our chips were undercooked and no apologies where given for the whole fiasco, there they were a couple of familys there who also had the same experience which proved it wasnt just us having a poor experience. As a popular food establishment I would expect more of an organised and friendly customer service especially for the prices they charge. Not a very happy customer.

Nothing was great arrived at 19.30pm for the mothers day meal menu and was still waiting for our food at 20.40pm. I complained and was given two complimentary drinks because of the wait. The food arrived 15 minutes later but the cabbage the steak and the sauce was cold. The food was sent back and a fresh meal was prepared ,which arrived 15 mins later. The food was an improvement but not 100 percent still not hot enough for mine or my wifes liking . Although the service from Demi, the waitress to rectify the issues was very attentive we still left the restaurant feeling very deflated. We had looked forward to this meal ,but the experience was not a pleasant one at all. The gesture of the meal being on the house was appreciated, but I would have sooner paid for a meal that was satisfactory. I work away for a living, and my time at home is very limited with my wife, so to leave with disappointment was a shame. We have been on numerous occasions and to be fair it is the first bad experience we have had. It was not the only complaints of the night ,as I also spoke to friends who dined at the same time. I have noticed there has been a few staff changes since we came on the last occasions , not sure if this is a reflection on the present service. My first thoughts and my wifes was not too come again. On reflection in time this may change ,but the disappointment is still present. I would like to say though the attentiveness of demi was impeccable who is a credit to your workforce ,and myself and my wife would like you to pass on our thanks for her help. Love love love the food here. Never had a bad experience with food or staff, the best steak Ive ever had, and the lobster tails are amazing! The only possible complaint would be the smell of the gents toilets as you walk in on a bad day, bad set up, although Ive only experienced this on one occasion it was so bad it actually ruined the night having to wait in a bar area that smelt like it did.

Went for lunch. Paid a lot for a small steak which was ok. Service wasnt good. Although the staff were polite, we were waiting a while for attention whilst 3 staff folded napkins
