Didn t eat but a great vibe

A little expensive. Group gathering and at a long table. Unable to converse with all friends. Round table would have been better.

Food was terrible for our table. Overcooked/dry sandwiches. Gumbo was bland and tasted like it had been reheated multiple times over several days. Took us an hour to get our drinks and another 45 for our food. For the 50 dollar bill i walked out with, i felt like i was fleeced.

We had limited time to meet friends from overseas before they had to fly back, and enjoyed a nice Saturday afternoon lunch with them here. Parking: Plenty of parking, but almost all full on a nice Saturday afternoon

I have to update my review. Ive just been to RE, ordered two burgers and mac and cheese. Very nice waiter but food took 45 minutes to arrive and ran me over $100 after tip. The burgers are smaller than they used to be and not as good in my opinion.

Food was mid and expensive. Got a glass with lipstick at the table. Three different servers came to us and asked the same questions, uncoordinated, even though it was not busy at the time.

Attended the Tuesday comedy show and it was awesome!

Our first time here and the food was excellent. Our server Mara was polite attentive and an absolute pleasure. With staff like her this is the place to go.

Bartender completely ignored me while serving prettier women with a big smile. Will not be returning here.

First off.. why is there a $6 entry fee to a small bar that was empty at 11pm on a Saturday. Second.. one of the bartenders was rude, wouldn t give me my drinks because I had to pay cash, when I already payed by card that same night with no problems. I mentioned this is my first time here and had no clue about the rules . She then said now you know with attitude. Music was good, but some good customer service would ve been nice.

Worst security in Guelph. The bouncers go on power trips. Management will either ignore or dismiss concerns of respectable and regular patrons. Terrible bouncers and management here.

Bouncers were completely disrespectful and out of line with their behaviour, would love to support but cannot overlook their unprofessional conduct!

Ive only had brunch here -- both times, chicken and waffles. And theyre excellent!

Went for a birthday with some coworkers. Cover was $6 .for what exactly? I don t know. The music was terrible. I personally haven t been to a bar in over a year and come back to find they still play the same tasteless remixes from 2022. Yeah (3x) by Chris Brown remixed with every bad song from the 2010s and some Pitbull!! I guess if you re drunk enough off their $6.75 drinks you might be able to dance to it. Not to mention I did try to request something to which the DJ said soon . Soon as in 15-20 min, or 2 hours? Safe to say I won t be going back (staff was friendly though, both bartenders and bouncers. Just the vibes were terrible!)

Nice place

Really cool menu and tasty food with a local pastry chef making the desserts. Plan to go again to try more. Its got a quasi New Orleans BbQ vibe with lots of options. Worth a visit

Staff was great! We had bottle service, everything was perfect for our party. And the music was amazing!

Had celebratory lunch here today, our server Courtney knew the beer selection well and gave us perfect flights. Food was delicious, mile high choco cake was fresh and melted in our mouths. Well done!

Was so looking forward to eating here, after two bar visits. Food was very disappointing, as was service. Fish tacos were a joke; where was the fish? And on cold tacos. Fries were a soggy mess; more bottled sauces, than fries. For somewhere that calls itself high end pub fare, hugely disappointing. Will definitely not eat here again. nice place, AMAZING food, great music and atmosphere but the staff here really couldnt pay less attention to you. Four of them huddled at the bar chatting. Our waiter literally left the dining area for twenty minutes. we helped ourself to our own take out boxes and stood at the bar for ten minutes (while the staff continued to chat, walk by us and serve a table of friends) to see if we could get our bill. its really a shame that the service was so bad. everything else was so great.

I love Royal!! Its so fun for a night out with either a live band or DJ. Royal has a diverse crowd that makes people of all ages feel comfortable. The food is great, their wings are huge and have SO much meat on them, all the sauces are made in house so its unique to other restaurants. Their ranch dip is mouthwatering. And possibly the best Ceasar salad Ive ever had thanks to the super garlicky dressing! Try the spicy fries as a side if youre not a salad person. The dessert is !! You want to save room after your meal for one of their amazing dessert options. Highly recommend checking out Royal Electric next time youre down town Guelph.

Kudos to the Royal Electric Bar and Eatery. Last Saturday afternoon they hosted a number of students from Jam School (music school) including our 15 year old granddaughter. While great talent was shown by the performers the waitresses whirled about bringing great food and beverages to the happy crowd. This is my second opportunity to visit the Eatery. Make a visit and youll agree it is a fun spot with good eats.

Thomas is the best!!! So welcoming and friendly. Love that guy. Very honest man too.

Food was decently priced. Goat cheese appetizer and buffalo cauliflower was fantastic. Arrived quickly and nice and hot. Wings were very good. Lots of sauce and a good size. Carson took great care of our table making sure everyone was well looked after.

Great bar, great service, awesome food

Had the wings and they were okay, not fantastic. They messed up our order a little bit, we were supposed to get fries with our wings, but they forgot about the fries. Cool spot though, the atmosphere is good.

Used to come here fairly often and usually had a decent time, until my visit last Saturday. My buddy used a vape (obviously he s wrong for that) and when he refused to give it up to the bouncer when caught as it was not his to give away, he immediately puts him in a chokehold and drags him out to the curb. No asking him to stop or leave properly, just defaulted to violence. Being a bouncer is no excuse to resort to the most aggressive resolution. I d be careful about coming here.

The food was good, the manager was excellent but the server at the bar was rude. She probably got into my top 2 chart of rudest servers. To the server, I hope youll remember your undeserved $2 tip. I have a feeling millenials and GenZs are not gonna be compatible ever. I also dont understand why the bars at Guelph keep peoples credit card at ransom (aka keeping the tab open). Is it because people run away without paying? I have never experienced this in any other cities.

Wow!! I had the grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with pulled pork, apple and Brie. It was incredible! Side of garlic aioli topped off a beautiful taste combination. Had really great service from Watson and I got to watch him build a martini tower. Very impressed!

Thus place is awesome! My brother took me here for wing night. It cant be beat!

The bouncers are violent and abusive!! Their personal lives must be so pathetic and sad for them to be treating people like this! Wow. I m sorry your lives are so empty and meaningless, but you don t have to take your aggression out on other people for no reason! Go to therapy instead!

I had a good time and some drinks with friends at Royal Electric. However, at the end night when we went to leave, the whole experience was ruined. We went outside to look for our Uber but couldnt find it. The first bouncer at the front door agreed to let me in once I told him i needed to get the Uber information from a friend who had ordered it. I understand theyre not technically supposed to let people back inside but, I was trying to ensure my safe ride home. I took one step inside before one of the other staff members grabbed me by the collar of my coat and pushed me backwards out of the door, without saying a word. This is where I almost fell down the front steps because I was tipsy and wearing heels at the time. The whole situation really upset me because I enjoyed the bar but I dont feel safe going back.

Nice bar with stage and a dance floor. Go whenever they have a live band performance.

I came here with my wife on a nice Sunday evening. We didn t even get to try anything because we were never served. The people that arrived after us got served and we were waiting for over 30 minutes and tried waving to someone nicely and were clearly seen but ignored there may be a reason for having selective service here, avoid it if you re not a local. We went to two other places, Miijida for lunch & a coffeeshop on the corner of the street accross from the VIA station. Both the people here were such wonderful folks, kind and friendly, service & food/drinks were awesome there.

Only had a beverage. It was good and service good.

Reheated frozen food for entrees, and the prices dont justify the portions. Also dont get a table in the back, its basically a dark corner.

Love this place. Love dancing here when Chris is DJing don t bother coming he sucks. Literally terrible. Been here when he s djing 3 different times . Dance floor empty before 1am even staff agrees you d think someone could take a hint . #Disgruntleddancingdrunkgirl

Great place. I partied here with Paul Coffey one night. We ordered the deviled eggs twice. It s a shame they don t take Canadian Tire money on par anymore (the reason I couldn t give it 5 stars) but otherwise a great spot.

Celebration of life was held there. Very nice, open, airy atmosphere. Great food.

Great experience great food. The food service was a good experience. The only thing is we had a minor problem with the bills at the end. But still fairly minor problem. I would overall recommend this place.

Love the back patio. So pretty, and there was lots of shade. Dinner time good wasnt amazing and was very expensive. My partner got a burger and salad, and his burger was pretty small, and it was over $20... I got a fry Supreme, which was okay but not amazing. For drinks, the royal degenerate was pretty yummy if youre a rum fan and like coconut. On another occasion, we went for brunch, and that was much better.

Love it here. A short bike ride away from our home. Great daily specials and an awesome patio.

I just wrote another review mentioning my top three places in Guelph to grab a bite, and this is also one of them. The Royal Burger, Buffalo Cauliflower, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich and their brunch Chicken and Waffles are to die for. Very excellent beer selection and awesome service. Highly recommended.

I went for my birthday weekend on the 5th August. Im Jamaican & I started dancing , from I was in line to go in. I enjoyed every moment.

Teach your bouncer students how to talk to people. He was abusive and even touched me on the queue line up.

A great spot downtown Guelph. They have a good variety of foods on the lunch menu. The meatless choices are delicious and creative. So nice to have something other than a salad as an option when you dont eat meat. Ive tried their mezze bowl and the portobello sandwich. The sweet potato wedges are . Theres a large patio in the summer too. Lots of beer options if thats your jam. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are delicious!

Honestly, I quite liked this place! Stopped here on the way back to Toronto from Elora for some lunch and I thought my salad was good! They have great beers on tap as well which I thoroughly enjoyed. Would love to go back at night during the bar scene.

Food was poor, service good, very few people there.

Honestly this girl at the bar ignored me for no reason at the bar when I tried to get a drink. She took everyone else s drink orders but mine and started wiping down the bar when I was right in front of her. The second time I went up to the bar she took myself and my friends drink order but did not ever get us drinks while she took others orders and got other people drinks right in front of us. Take in, neither myself or my friend were drunk and therefore should not have drinks refused from us. I complained to another girl who took my drink order and she went and whispered to the first girl right infront of myself and my friend and laughed at us. I guess the two girls had something against us, all I can think of is that my friend is gay. This is unacceptable and they should not be bartending if they are holding such biases. Be better!

Friendly service. Good menu. They were full when I walked in but the hostess did a good job of getting me the first table that came available. We didnt end up waiting very long.

Went there Saturday night for dinner. Once me and my party arrived, we were escorted to our table and that was the extent of the good service. After we got to our table we waited for half an hour just to get drinks ordered, with the excuse of we are trying to figure who is looking after your table. Unacceptable that should have been determined once the shift started! We ordered our dinner and honey garlic wings came out un tossed in any sauce. I had to send my plate of wings back twice to get sauced!. I Was told they were making a fresh batch for me, and yet when my plate returned, it was the same order of wings I had sent back, as I had found the wing where I had pulled a piece of dry crunchy skin from. I highly do not recommend going there on a Saturday night. I will stick with going there on Wing night when I know I can get better service.

Ordered take out but when we got home there was a mistake on the order. It was fixed right away, and brought to our door step, no questions asked - which was very appreciated. This is how a proper business corrects its mistakes. It also serves to mention these are easily the best wings in town. Will be out wing place in guelph from now on.

Driving through Guelph and decided to stop for lunch. We ended up at Royal Electric. Great atmosphere and food. We will definitely stop by again.

Spartan vibe that opens up for rock shows, good rotating tap selection, good fries. Burger was good but Im very glad I went for the special.

Good selection of local craft beers on tap Good burgers and great chicken sandwich. Only surprise was the brisket was chewy and tough. Brisket should be for tender and moist.

Oh my Goodness. This place is the best. The food is amazing but most of all, their customer service. We only went in for fries but they treated us like royalty. They got us water and chatted with us and were very kind. We will def be coming back not just because of the service but because the awsome food.

Got the Wednesdays special, paid for a Caesar salad side instead of fries, I thought the portion of the side salad was pretty small especially since I had to pay for it. Buffalo chicken sandwich was good though.

Sat out on the patio and it was very lovely! The food took a little while to come out but frankly it was so busy that the wait time compared to the busy-ness was completely reasonable! We had Selena as our server and she was wonderful and so delightful to interact with! We also watched her interact with some other (demanding) tables and she handled everything with so much grace and kindness! Truly exemplary service can t wait to come back!

This is my favorite place to grab food and drinks in downtown Guelph, by far. The servers and bartenders are so kind, and always going above and beyond for their customers!

No cocktails? On a Saturday at 11 pm? Ridiculous. We spent $5 each just to find out and ducked out. Ridiculous.

The Royal Electric Bar and Public Eatery is a great spot. When I first entered the building the staff were friendly. I decided to sit at the bar. Courtney introduced herself and helped me figure out what beers I wanted for the Flights of any 4 Lines for my Drinks. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich with fries, it came with Housemade Aioli (which was really good). I had a good conversation with Courtney about the restaurants in and around Guelph, and what life is like in Guelph. Thank you very much Courtney for the experience that you gave me at your establishment.

Not sure how they are rated so well. Beer was disappointing, service was even worse. Food was absolutely mediocre. I think all the good reviews are from the waitresses friends, who seemed to get great service, while you wait forever.

However, I think they need to do more work with their security because there was a guy who was harassing myself and my friend as well as other women on the dance floor. He was very obnoxious and rude and did not take no for an answer. I wish they had kicked him out right away

Went there with my partner Thursday night as we were walking by .. it was amazing and we enjoyed their wings fries and sweet potato fries. Everything was great plus they created a drink for me based on what I like fruit and alcoholic wise! Such nice staff and great night!!

Excellent vibe and great selection of craft beers. I had the gar-par wings which were quite average (fatty and greasy). My husband had the burger which was excellent

After visiting family in Guelph we decided to grab dinner here before heading home. We wandered into Royal Electric and are so glad we did! Three of the four of us had the fried chicken sandwich so good. Super crispy. And the fries! Oh my!! Definitely recommend trying this place. The food menu isn t extensive but the craft beer menu is long! Some will find it on the loud side inside. But the music was 90s alternative. Perfect for us!

Stopped in a couple times during a business trip . Very friendly service and excellent food. Chicken burger prepped fresh in house and wings were great too . I met with the Chef who was also very friendly and eager to please .

Second time back to this place. Service is quick and friendly. The ghost and garlic wings are seriously hot, but delicious as well. The sweet potato fries were fresh and the beer selection was great! Will be back for sure. :)

Used to be our favourite bar for dancing (2ish yrs ago) but now the music is terrible! I gave it two good tries and both times everyone was standing on the dance floor, many times it even cleared out on a Friday & Saturday night. The DJ is the same 40 yr old that plays music from 2008 - and not even the good throwbacks. Like dude, just scroll on tiktok, find out whats popular and play that... Anything! So dissapointed. And I swear our $10 vodka crans didnt have any vodka in it. Royal fell off :(

Definitely worth the wait. Always leave atleast 20-30 more minutes than you think for pick up. Very slow and every time have given me the wrong amount of time. So plan accordingly.
