The place is slowly losing its taste and flavor, but has been steadily increasing the price. Order Salmon Entrees but the Salmon was salty, the rice was bland, and the potatoes has lost its old taste .

Its such a shame, this place has good food, but their service, especially when it comes to delivery, is horrible. Several times recently we have had to order elsewhere because weve waited well over an hour for food that just doesnt arrive or arrives far too late. Wont order again.

Ordered take out on Sunday at 7:10/ food was ready at 8:10! 1 hour for 3 souvlaki plates. Very poor time management. The tomatoes were so unripe/nearly white! We are regulars have had it when it was the best/ best quality/ timing/ ingredients/ packaging when you first opened. We have been ordering since the very beginning, for parties/ family dinners/ Pick-up, delivery/ for business! This was the worst in every aspect. Very unhappy to be honest.

Called in an order at 12:00 p.m to be picked up for 7:30. Got there a few minutes after 7:30 and they hadn t even made the food yet. This isn t the first time this has happened either. What s the point of calling ahead if I have to wait 20 minutes while they make the food?

We phoned in a pick-up dinner order for mothers day from Olive Tree. Ordering from their website was very easy and they offered several pickup time slots. When we went to pickup, they were crazy busy, but we got our meals in the time slot, no problem. Wow! The food was fresh, flavourful, well seasoned, well prepared and they were such generous portions. Overall, an excellent meal experience. My only critique is that the salad dressing was a bit too much for me, so Ill request it on the side next time. And yes, there will definitely be many more next times!

Updated! Added a star because my niece loved the baklava. I still think they gave me one dessert and charged me for two though. I will update if the baklava is awesome, but I just ordered two baklava and received one container even though the website shows that that is just one order. But the young man told me that I was getting two in the one container because there are two pieces in there and that just seems fishy? Like I totally just got swindled out of an order. Is that just me?

I had first time falafel in my life and was so delicious. The store attendant was nice and polite.

I was there for dinner around 10:15pm and the guy working there was very rude and gave me a nasty look ,as if I was stealing. He dint even greet or say Hi. I asked him if they were still open for business, and he rudely said yes and took the order, when I asked if I could get a little bit of extra rice, he said nothing is for free here, so I said I will pay and get it, I am no free bee, he dint even bother wearing gloves and made my bread with bare hands and served me. I don t recommend anybody to go here as they don t know how to treat their customers and food handling is very very unhigieneic. I request the management and owner to train their staff properly !!!

We usually order from here often. Recently though it feels like its going down hill. Idk if its because they hired someone new or what but the last order felt us feeling unsatisfied and a little insulted. We ordered 3 lamb souvlaki dinners. They forgot to add our 3 sauces. We called and the guy tried saying we were lying and that he put them in. Why ANYONE would lie about not receiving the cheapest item on the menu is beyond me but lets put intelligence issues aside and move forward to the fact the guy who we talked to delivered us a single sauce with a single skewer... How are 3 people suppose to share that ? 2 sauces and skewers would of been the minimum expectation here but giving us ONE sauce and ONE skewer for your own screw up was insulting. It would LITERALLY have been better to give us NOTHING. So im going to assume he just wanted to insult us because no one with any kind of intelligence would deem that appropriate for a family of 3 whos meal you screwed up. Long story short. EXTREMELY disappointed as we did enjoy eating from here. We ordered frequently but it will be hard to do so after that. Especially if we hear the same indian worker because if he screws up we know he wont take responsibility.

I am back to amend my review. This place has gone downhill recently. The service is terrible. I called and placed an order for pick up with half an hour notice and upon arrival nothing was done. I had to wait 10 minutes for the food. Whats the point of ordering in advance? Also, the food quality is not the same. Chicken was dry, rice was hard and salad was soggy.

My family and I love ordering in with Olive Tree. The food always tastes great and is delivered hot. We recently tried their Chicken Shwarma Poutine and it was delicious. Parking: Plenty of spaces of free parking right in front of the restaurant.

I went here and ordered a chicken souvlaki plate. I had told them no rice and NO BELL PEPPERS AS IT IS AN ALLERGY . Within every meal they should give you rice, potatoes and salad (I order a lot from here and that s the standard). When I opened my box I was completly missing my pita and potatoes. I just did not want rice. I called the restaurant and told them and they were very reluctant on providing me a few potato s. The man on the phone said come get it . I am a student and had to walk 40 mins ALL OVER AGAIN to get my food. I got my potatoes and it was not easy- ALOT OF QUESTIONS. When I finally sat down to eat I looked at my salad and realized they had put bell peppers. I was unable to eat my salad and the potato they gave me was literally not even HALF A POTATO. THIS IS AWFUL AWFUL SERVICE

Had a wonderful experience the food is great i have been visiting the restaurant for a year now and it is the favourite place to go the food is prepared infront of us and the staffs are extremely friendly.

Pictures on the door dash menu are very Misleading. A gyro is just meat. Shows a full meal and rice. A gyro with pita is meat and wrap but also shows a full meal with rice. But none of theirs meals have rice with a gyro!!! Not happy. Yummy meat though

I recently dined at Olive Tree Restaurant and had an exceptional experience. The Lamb Roast Entree was a standout, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The Spanakopita was equally delightful, with a perfect balance of flakiness and savory filling. The staff were truly awesome, providing attentive and friendly service. I highly recommend Olive Tree Bistro and is worth a visit.

Good food, good service

Its all hands on deck as these folks are working efficiently to get your order ready. A booming take out business. They also have tasty desserts, which are very pricey, but if you dont want to make another stop, it is convenient. Dietary restrictions: They consisistantky get any special requests correct!

This used to be my go-to place for Greek food but I ve been super disappointed with my last few orders through Uber. I always ask for no tomatoes, olives or peppers on my salad - my salad shows up COVERED in peppers (more peppers than lettuce or cucumbers). I ve also ordered a chicken souvlaki pita with no tomatoes (ingredients listed on Uber don t say there are peppers in the pita). And I get the pita also covered in peppers, however, last time I ordered a pita and said no tomatoes, there were also no peppers in it. This has happened multiple times. I also ordered a beef souvlaki platter last night and the beef was so overdone and salty it was almost inedible. Will likely start going elsewhere if simple instructions cant be followed. It s disappointing because their food is usually great.

Service was terrible. They were severely understaffed, and one of the employees had attitude and was rude to customers. Food took 40 minutes to be ready and this is supposed to be a fast food restaurant. Given that you order at the desk.

The service here is beyond slow. They move like sloths preparing the food. I could have travelled to the moon and back and the food still wouldnt be ready. I understand restaurants get busy. But when that happens youre supposed to pick up the pace. No hustle at all even with a big line up of people waiting.

That had to be the WORST pita I have ever had. The person that made that should fired, We ordered 2 pitas and there was next to nothing on it and they way it was wrapped was like Ive never seen before. The pita is supposed to be opened filled then wrapped. This one they just tossed a few ingredients on the top of it and rolled it up like a rug. Everything fell put and the pitta itself was ruined. I had to eat it with a fork and there was 3 pieces of chicken in the whole thing. What a rip off! This place has gone down hill for sure!

Our lab ordered our team Christmas lunch from the great people at Olive Tree. It was a late order for 18 people and we each wanted a different item from the menu. Talking with Atilla he was so accommodating. We sent our order via email and Atilla delivered it to us himself. The food was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely be ordering again from Olive Tree. It was great that they put each persons name on their meal so we could hand out each persons lunch. Thanks Atilla and the team at Olive Tree.

This use to be the best Souvlaki not just in town but as another customer said - in Canada, HOWEVER I don t know if it s a change in owner or maybe it s the night crew (usually come in around 8-11pm) but The rice has zero taste The salad is lacking- use to come with pickled turnips, black and green olives. Unprofessional behavior

I am obsessed with this restaurant. I eat here a few times a month when im working in Guelph. My favourites are the Chicken Souv(pita or dinner) and the Greek salad. Everytime i order it tastes exactly the same. Its so delicious. Some of the best Mediterranean food ive had in Ontario. If youre in Guelph, try the Olive tree. Its amazing.

I usually love this place. But, about 1-2 months ago I came in and I got the falafel dinner. As I was eating the rice, I noticed something tasted off . I didn t think much of it, as I ve eaten here often and never had any issues. About 30 minutes later I was not feeling well, and had to deal with the results of what I think was food poisoning. I came to look at reviews today out of curiosity and noticed someone posted about Mouldy rice so I thought I would share my experience too. Hopefully this isn t a reoccurring issue..

Everyone from work wanted to order from here. Im not a big fan of Greek food so I decided to be safe and order a panzarotti. When calling in the order it had to be repeated several times, when they were asked to repeat the order back they still messed it up. I made a horrible decision; it was by far the worst panzarotti Ive ever had. It was cold and sticky, almost void of the three toppings, no dipping sauce and the dough was like cardboard. It will be my last experience here.

Love the Greek food from here! Since we moved to guelph a couple years ago this has become our go to spot for greek food! We love it! Only thing is they could improve the container it comes in. Ditch the styrofoam and get cardboard or something stronger and recyclable. Otherwise 5 stars!

Online orders are never ready on time always needs to wait at least 10 mins. Kitchen looks very dirty. Looks like they are never cleaning the kitchen. Staff looks very unhygienic. Wrost service ever i am wounding why people eat food from this type of dirty restaurant. Very disappointed

Huge portion and very tasty . Small inside seating but worth it

Ive been a regular for this restaurant for the last five years. Its gone from being able to walk in and get your food within minutes to some nights, having to wait in line for forty-five minutes, and its highly deserving of the extra business it is receiving. Some of the best food Ive had. However, my last five orders have had multiple mistakes. Today, a driver that I will keep his name anonymous drove a quarter of the way from my house, which is annoying since we live thirty minutes outside of Guelph. For his service, Id give him a 5/5 as he was respectful as can be and exactly the service this restaurant used to be. As for the restaurant staff, take you time packing the orders and read the receipt multiple times, especially whats in brackets. Make sure the orders are fulfilled before closing the bag. For a place with this quality of food, you can not make these simple mistakes.

I was trying to tip the staff and they said owner keeps the tips and dont share with staff I think thats totally unacceptable in my opinion seems like owner is super greedy . I wont support this kind of behavior.

This is our go too! We eat here once a week, tonight fell short! The chicken was flavorless, there was next to no rice and it was way over cooked, the potato was tiny and burnt. The salad was rotten and they didnt put salad dressing on it anyways. We were sad and hungry after we ate what we could then made a sandwich. What happened? Someone needs some better training, we will be going somewhere next week.

THEY ARE SLOW!!!!! taste good but do not order if you need it on time. Simple order took 40mins when ordering online saying ready in 15m. Voiced concern to staff and it was more like meh. Just got bumped down lower on my list, might support some other local shop that seems to have less traffic. I will say it did taste good and no issues with the quality of food / Chicken shawarma Update September 20, 2023 I m still ordering from here, but it s now turned into a bit more of a hidden mess some days it s a fair portion and other days it s Skimpy nothing has changed in terms of speed. I order it and then don t even think about showing up for 30 minutes at least that might say one of two things either it s super popular, which is great for a business or two they just really don t know how to be efficient, I just want them to be consistent. The price did go up by a dollar I believe and again portion has become skimpier.

Got the chicken souvlaki pita as takeout, I was not notified when it was ready, and when I opened the pita it had torn apart and wasn t really edible.

Good food but terrible service. Ordered at 6:25pm and was told it would be ready at 7pm. Arrived at 7:05, finally got to the counter at 7:15pm and order had not even been started. Walked out as slowness had happened before but not to this extent. Vegetarian options: Nice falafel

Food from this place is never a disappointment. Amazing portions, good quality, and very kind workers. Thats also a few vegetarian options, which all are very delicious (falafel wrap/ entre, vegetarian moussaka, Greek fries). I definitely recommend this restaurant.

We usually order a couple of times a month and thoroughly enjoy it, but tonights order was an absolute disaster. Soggy salad, charred and black souvlaki, and calamari so terribly overcooked we literally couldnt chew through it and ended up throwing it out. Although weve always loved the food here, do not order delivery (unless you order through Skip The Dishes). The delivery driver was not only 30 minutes late, but did not come to the address provided, ended up on the other side of Guelph, then proceeded to tell me my address is wrong. Waited well over an hour in total, to just cancel the order in the end. Very disappointed with the restaurants delivery service.

One of my favorite Guelph restaurants. Great portions for great prices, without skimping on flavour. Have never been disappointed by Olive Tree. Quick service. Whether delivery or take out, food has always been piping hot and delicious by the time I dug in.

Never ready always waiting forever.

Food 5/5: Ordered a spanakopita meal and a chicken souvlaki meal. Both came with rice and a salad, the chicken meal came with potatoes. Were both not a fan of olives, but the salad was still great and the olives were on top and easy to remove. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Customer Service 3/5: A little disorganised inside and the staff at the counter wasnt very attentive so we needed to get their attention when we entered. We ordered ahead for pickup so we didnt place the order in the restaurant. We planned to take the food for a picnic and once we got to the park we noticed there was no cutlery in the bag. Luckily we were nearby and able to go back. Overall, we are happy we tried this place. May return at some point in the future.

I ordered something and got something else. I called to see if they can correct my order and they just dismissed it by saying we dont do what I ordered. Their chicken shawarma is always full of fat and cartilage. I ordered the shawarma poutine and it literally had more fat than chicken. It was disgusting. I wont be ordering anymore.

Great food, and friendly staff, but they are ALWAYS late with your food, sometimes by more than 30 minutes. Would give them 5 stars if they could just give you your food when they promised they would. Also very annoying that they prioritize Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats orders over customers who order from their website. Waiting for your late order becomes even more annoying when 3 delivery drivers come and leave while you are waiting.

Food is amazing

Daughter lives in Guelf ..came to visit me in Niagara region. She spoke so highly of place we had to make a 3 hour round trip to get an order...wow..the best Ive had and such large portions we had left overs the next day Next time she visits Im going to ask her to get another take out order.Chicken and lamb souvlaki to die for.

The food here is average but they have a wide variety of options for everyone. The portions are very filling! Lamb and beef Kabobs are always a little chewy but the rice is perfect. Very consistent restaurant. Lamb shake was tender but not seasoned, it also tasted oddly sweet.

I have been ordering from here almost 4-5 days a week and sometimes twice a day for the last 2 years. I really recommend the salmon. However it would have been a lot nicer if the restaurant somehow noticed my customer loyalty :)

Nice Mediterranean restaurant!!!

This place USED to have the BEST pizza, shawarma, wings, and more in guelph. When I took people there they would always be surprised. Last year it took a turn for the worse, on top of the extremely long wait times (1h+ when we were told 15m) that have been going on for 5 years, the food quality has gone down so much its no longer even passable. Truly a disgrace how badly the quality has gone down.

Olive tree used to be my favourite restaurant to eat at. But in the past couple of months the quality has gone down so much. It s so sad to see my go to restaurant go downhill.

Used to be really good, now serves poor tasting food (overcooked calamari, low quality chicken shawarma) and the wait times are insane. They told me 30m, I come after 30 and wait another 45. Wish this place could return to its former self, then Id reconsider a visit.

We waited over 2 hours for our delivery and finally canceled. After 60 minutes we called and asked how long it would be. Was told they had trouble with the online order system and it would be delivered in 15 minutes. After another hour with no delivery I called again and canceled. Will never bother again. Going with another local Greek restaurant next time. I must note the guy on phone said my online order had not gone through but he ended up with our email address to send a message to us and on the phone I did not provide it. Clearly it was an error and we were just forgotten. Not even an offer of a discount was offered. Bad bad customer service.

Good takeout Greek food

After reading great reviews, I decided to give them a try for dinner. So disappointed. Lamb Souvlaki should have been the star of the show but was completely dried out and flavourless. Admittedly, the potatoes had good flavour but were also very dry. Obviously they had been sitting in the steam table for hours. There is really no excuse not to serve fresh, piping hot food at 6:00 p.m. After spending over $20 including tax and tip, I was very disappointed. Next time I want Greek food, I will be back to Cusina. Their food is the best in town.

Ordered 70$ worth of food for my family and I. The Rice from Olive Tree Tasted funny and I found the whole rice dish was FULL of MOLD! The smell was horrific and Spoiled our appetite. An employee apologized and dropped off another side of rice ( that Still smelled rotten) and said that their kitchen has no AC and that the food could go bad faster? A kitchen with no AC is not properly up to code not to mention that it looks dirty and old. Ended up throwing out all the food as I didn t want to take any chances. I will be contacting Public Health department to investigate further. I will not be going back as I don t want food poisoning!

The service was awful,I was waiting one hour and after this period of time the gave me wrong order.and the kitchen was not clean enough. I am sad of getting food of this place by this price and time I have spent.

This is another time where I wish I could not give a one star to a restaurant they would not cater and they charge for two Euros on a bun $45 where do you get off charging for two simple meals $45 you guys deserve to be shut down they were rude and dont even speak English in front of your face which I found very insulting and rude

good sized portions and great food. their spanakopita is a small portion but it s absolutely delicious. the tzatziki dip comes with a huge portion of dip and it was to die for. the shawarma munch box is good and I recommend getting it spicy

Okay, I really tried to love this place. It is in my neighborhood, its convenient, smells amazing but the staff are just not amazing. Three times, no exaggeration, I have placed an order via ubereats/website (social anxiety lol) and ALL of those times I have came and they have not seen or known of my order. I am literally standing outside waiting five minutes for my order because the employee was sitting watching t.v, and not paying attention to chits and just didn t hear my order come in? Like cmon, not to mention the other tomes I have came, the employees were just hanging out IN FRONT OF THE STORE, blocking the sidewalk and like not even acknowledging us. Anyways, the food is good, falafels are a little dry but taste great. The pizzas and panzerottis are great! I think with the right staff this place could be a little gem. I m about to try the greek poutine so I ll keep yall noted ;-) Edit: okay, i m home now with food, the greek poutine is amazing! I m mad I didn t find it sooner. The fries are classic fries, toppings are so fresh, good amount of toppings and the employee was very nice and brought me out my food and then I instantly felt a ping of guilt. The people are nice, they need help in customer service though. The food is amazing and honestly could be busy as hell, if they just figured that out.

Wow!!! I had the chicken souvlaki and all of the meal was absolutely fantastic! Really looking forward to giving the pizza a shot. Can t wait to go back again!! Oh and I d show a photo but it s all gone.

Their delivery was 40 mins late. And after that the delivery person charged me higher than the price it was printed on the website when I have ordered. Not the best experience I must say!

Best Greek cuisine we ve had in Guelph so far! I love the flavour they put into the food here. The potatoes are deliciously marinated and the tzaziki is to die for! I can tell it is made in-house. My boyfriend loves their pizza too, the dough they use is tasty and not too thick. I d recommend the chicken souvlaki/skewers, they are always cooked to perfection. Also, their Greek salad: fresh veggies and delicious dressing. Our favourite is the Spanikopita, worth trying! The staff are lovely here, very friendly! Edith went above and beyond and brought our food out to us while we were waiting in the car. :) It s a family business, very genuine and kind people that care about giving their customers good, hearty food. Their portions are very generous, especially during the late nights when we order, they deserve much higher ratings!

The food here is good however the service is absolutely terrible. I Always try to order my food 20 mins to half hour before I will arrive to pick up and it is NEVER ready all at the same time. Half the food is cold because youre waiting for the other items to be ready. The food tastes good but Ive given this place way too many chances to have my food ready and Hott when I come to pick up. I cant imagine how cold the delivery is when it arrives. Unfortunately wont be going here again.

I gave this place a try several times for the past 3 years and my honest opinion their food is not good especially their chicken shawarma. They do not take the fat off and the slime in your mouth from the chicken fat ruined it for me i will never go back there spending my moneynfor anfew bites and being dissapointed. The flies in the place and md uncleaniness from the last visit on top of it just did it for me.

Satisfactory. Ordered their fish, souvlaki and wrap. Very salty but consumable. There was just one person working that day doing all the cooking and taking orders in person and over the phone so that might explain the dishes being over salted. On the phone, the person mentioned all the meats served there are halal however there was no halal certification visible at the shop so caveat emptor.

Took the lamb souvlaki. Taste was ok I guess. But the reason of my low rating was the price of food compared to the portion served. 18.4$ is super-extravagant for a plate containing a skewer with 6 small pieces of meat, some salad, a boiled small potato, and some rice. There are better Mediterranean options in Guelph that serves better, more portions for 18$.

Tried a chicken entree today (sunday11pm) via Ubereats and thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was absolutely delicious & good value for the price aswell. (Thank you Blueshirt guy/cook)

Best Greek in all of Ontario! Truly amazing

This was the best Greek food we have ever had in Canada. You cannot beat the taste, quality, portion size, and value. 5 stars the first time we ordered. 3 stars the second time. Lots of leftovers. Also, very good tzatziki, which so often is subpar. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good food and likes getting their money s worth and their tummies full! So many places having been ripping people off during the pandemic especially with online ordering but this place was excellent the first time and good the second time (they made substitutions without telling us).

Giving one star because 0 is not an option.. I ordered my meal by phone, was told it would be30 minutes. I show up 35 minutes later, leave a 15% tip on a take out order, and still had to wait for 30 minutes. I go home with my order and some items are still missing. Used to be a pretty regular customer here but will not be going back or reccomending again.

These guys dont have a clue on customer service. We ordered and upon arrival to home found our order wrong. There solution was to have us come back to them to make it right. They have a tip jar dont bother they dont deserve it
