Food is average, service is poor, waitress is unpleasant and unnecessarily rude. Waste of money and time!

My family and I went out for dinner on Friday, but it was a disappointing experience. The waitress was not at the counter, so we had to wait to place our order even though the restaurant wasn t busy. When she finally came, she was rude to us. On top of that, the food was bad, and we didn t like it at all. It was one of the worst meals we ve had.

Vegetable chow mien. No vegtables??

I like thier momos but they keep adding stale capsicum n onoin, i can tell after wating, stale veggies

We ordered the general tao and seasame chocked and ended up with the vinegary black sludge instead. It was all inedible.

My husband came here with my son and was able to order items with 0 spice. My son is young and cant eat spicy foods. My son really liked the paneer. Came back, we asked, repeatedly, to get the paneer with no spice as that was ordered last time, the waitress told us they couldnt do it without spice but we told them we had it with no spice a few days ago. She said okay. She brought the paneer and it was spicy. My son was super upset he couldnt eat it. The service is inconsistent. If we were able to order the item without spice then we should be able to do it again especially if its for kids. Both visits were within the same week as well. It was very upsetting dine in experience.

Food tasted really salty and the chicken was tough. Also had a weird metallic taste. Got the lunch special and the spring rolls which had cabbages that were definitely spoiled. Food was reheated too.

I was editing my review because of the poor service given by Blue Chopstix. I placed an order at 6:43 to be picked up at 7:30. On arriving at their place, I was told that the food I ordered was in stock and I could take anything else. So I chose another dish as a replacement, and it took an extra 20 min to prepare. Then they didnt give the rice with the curry with the excuse of being finished. Bill overcharged as per the previous order. Dont suggest this place to anyone.

The food was gross. Im not picky and am very familiar with Asian cuisine. This was a huge waste of money.

Ordered noodles with vegetables dish however the only vegetables they had in there were onions, green peppers and cabbage. Thats not what I would call vegetables when it can be assumed looking at their own pictures on the online menu with cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots that it would include these as well but nope. These are basic vegetables with most Asian cuisines but not this one. Disappointing especially after seeing good reviews of this place.

However, my recent pickup experience was marred by slow service. Despite ordering spicy paneer and vegetable momo, both vegetarian options, through mobile pickup, I was told to wait for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, it took around 35-40 minutes for my order to be ready, which was quite inconvenient. Despite the delay, the food was tasty and worth the wait.

We look for more than just delicious meals when dining out. The staffs dress requirement did not match the relaxed ambiance of the service. The requests appeared to be unfulfilled, and it is imperative that all consumers receive priority regardless of their age. The glasses werent clean enough to drink. Not recommended for those who want great customer service.

Hidden gem in the Guelph area. Wide range of Haka Indian flavored food. Good ambiance and super fast service. Food is bit spicy but if you let them know at the time of order, they can make it mild. We have been there more than 20 times and were always satisfied.

While the server was alright.. we literally had to ask for the basics, leaving our table to wait at the counter for sauces and cutlery. No one came to check once if we needed anything. Food portions are generous. Sweet corn soup was literally made sweet.

Just tried this for the first time and wasn t satisfied at all, I ordered the meal for one and choose beef garlic, it was bland and the meat was tough but that s a gamble with beef, also the portion size was small compared to a shawarma meal which I eat twice, this meal didn t even fill me. I would give them another try to see if it was a better choice.

Great Hakka cuisine. The lunch special is a good portion for a great price. Can t beat the chili chicken. Always recommend this place if you enjoy Indian/Chinese/Hakka food when in Guelph.

This experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. We had previously visited this restaurant several times before and the food was of much better quality. However, during this recent visit, we were served with food that was not cooked properly, even the samosa was still frozen. We look forward to seeing improvements in the food quality at Bluchopstix.

The star rating is more so for their service. After moving to guelph from mississauga, I was looking for a Hakka place and stumbled upon this place. The food is tasty but recently the service has dmgone way down hill. Ive ordered through uber for delivery and on more than one occasion, the food wasnt ready for the driver to pick up OR they canceled the order after lengthening the time it would be ready. I tried to order through uber for pick up and again, the pick up time kept being delayed. When I order through the phone, theyre rude and rush to get you off the phone. Picking up at the restaurant, Ive had to wait quite a long time before someone would even come out to take my order. As of recent, it looks like theyve reduced their portion sizes and if you get anything fried, it tastes like they used old oil or its just burnt to begin with. They also dont know the meaning of substitute noodles for rice as they have failed to do so numerous times when requested. I will be looking for another hakka place as Ive now had it with this place.

food taste is average and they are charging away more than other restaurants out there. i was looking for a halal place in guelph and came across this blur chopsticks. now regretting visiting them with my family. overall, 0 stars. avoid this place.

It s an Indian Hakka Chinese and tastes very good .the staff is really good and the place is clean.I tried chicken lollipops which are actually the best in their menu and we also tried fried fish and chicken Manchurian both were great and last but definitely not the least and something who would like spice are their momos in sauce they were too good but really hot spice level.

I ordered from here for the first time this week and the food was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavourful, and lots of leftovers for the next day. Cant wait to try another dish.

Hot and sour soup is really good. This is our go to place for hakka chinese. Owner and staff our humble and welcoming. Edit: Food is Halal So this place is loosing there quality very disappointed.

Went because place had great reviews. Food was tasteless swimming in either red or brown flavourless sauce. Got the impression the man at the front desk was also the cook. Rest room was not clean.

Just ran out! (Have eaten there before. Loved the service and food.) Tonight used the washroom..so filthy! Both mens and womens. .no TP, no towels, toilets covered in BM. Light switch just black. Eewwww. Wonder what the kitchen is like ?

Generally recommends thire food, but you have to be careful when ordering takeout, didnt get the spring rolls couple of time(never offered compensation), its comes with lunch special and today the spring rolls was rotten and its smell the rotten too. Its just very frustrating. They have might fried the old one.

It was our first time at blue choptix. Excellent service by Lavi. All the food was delicious and the quantity was great. Very reasonable and affordable pricing. We would for sure visit again.

Ordered noodles and chicken 65 sizzler, noodles was pathetic and starter was cold, like it was microwaved. And the lady on front desk wasnt able to suggest any food recommendations too. And then ordered egg rice without onion after all of the above as we were hungry, and guess what the rice was with onion. :( Had to wait for rice without onion for some more time. Pathetic experience overall.

Horrible food we took veg friend rice veg Hakka noodles and veg Manchurian except the noodles nothing is eatable. I wasted 46 dollars here. Look at the pics of veg Manchurian and veg friend rice.

Geart restaurant and have lots of appetizer options to try like paneer chili sizzler and tandoori chicken Chinese style different taste and something new to try highly recommended. Also have great options for tandoori and Szechuan momo. Vegetarian options: Paneer dry was awesome. Try chili paneer sizzler. Parking: Location have lots of parking and safe neighborhood

I had a great experience with this place. Very friendly Staff and quick service. Food was delicious.

Wanted to try a new restaurant that I ve never been to, so I went here with my family. It was ok, but the water they brought out in the glass bottle tasted funny, and it was warm. We asked for ice cubes and they melted in about 20 seconds. Most of the food was too spicy to enjoy. I didn t mind the chow mein, but I can get that other places. I probably won t be going here again. It was a disappointment the waitress was very quiet and didn t want to correct a mistake they made with the chicken I ordered. Not good.

Poor quality food. Usually I enjoy the chicken fried rice. Today when I ordered the quality was very poor. Felts like generic pulao. Wasn t worth even 5$. Upon asking for schzwan chutney with lolipop the attendant told we don t have the chutney sorry. Every-time I go I have the chutney and today she said she does not have it. How in the world can I believe that a Chinese place does not have a chutney ? There s a poor customer service that I saw. I would question myself before visiting this place again. Bad experience.

Vinit has been wonderful server. He also takes care of the special notes in the order. So wonderful service by vinit. I like to come often from now because of good food.

This is one of the best Halal Hakka place that I have eaten at. Their Hakka Chow Mein is very delicious. It tastes very fresh and has loads of flavors. I ordered the Manchurian Chicken White Meat last time and they were incredibly fresh and juicy. I would highly recommend this place.

Vinit was reallly good when I came with my family. He gave us good idea about what the food is. Made sure we are comfortable and ensured we have what we wanted. He also went the extra mile on customer service. Would come again, hopefully he can serve us again

The portions are a decent enough size to fill you up, the servers are kind and responsive. I had Vineet and he knew the menu inside and out, he was quick when responding.

The restaurant listing describes vegan options as being a reason to go but if you call in they have no idea what vegan is and describe every menu item to have egg and fish sauce in it. False advertising.

One of the best Hakka restaurants I have tried. Dishes were fresh, tasty, great portions and the server was friendly and patient. Will definitely visit again!!

Worst food for the money shrimp was though as leather and cold. Spring rolls where greasy and cold. Sweet and sour chicken ( and not sure if it was chicken it tasted alot like pork) was though and cold. The price for my dinner was way to high at 65 dollars, and it took a hour and a half to get to my place. Save your money and find somewhere else to order.

Server did not know what ingredients were used in one of the meals we ordered. She didn t seem to know much about the menu but recommended her preferences. We asked about the portion sizes and she said she didn t know. Next thing, the food portions are beyond us and she kept up selling other dishes to which we declined. The food was good and we loved the mango drink. Seems to be the most recommended.

We ordered take out general takeout s chicken, battered deep fried shrimp and vegetable spring rolls-all of it was inedible. It he chicken was hidden in a soupy black tar sauce, the shrimp was not battered and covered with curried vegetables and the spring rolls were similar to what you get from the freezer section at the grocery store. We will never go back!

Never been let down here. Excellent Hakka food, and a nice change of pace from other Asian restaurants. Canadians be warned, most of the dishes have a bit of a kick. Parking: Its in a strip mall that always has plenty of parking available.

Im afraid Im going to have to change my 5 stars to 2. The food is still very good but the service has gotten worse every time Ive gone. It takes a very long time to be seated and even longer to have your order taken. It will take you well over an hour from the time you enter to the time you leave if youre dining in. Edit: Customer service is much better and the food comes out very fast! The food is delicious as always, much better than it was!

Best Halal Chinese in the town.

Ok so this is Hakka food, no pork served due to Halal offering. Hakka is a hybrid of Chinese and Indian food however this restaraunt has more of an Indian influence. The Chinese component is Northern China cuisine nothing like true Cantonese Hong Kong cuisine so dont attempt the comparison. The positives. Rice and noodle portions are huge. Hakka style noodles were tasty and give you that spicy warmth in your mouth. We upped the flavor by adding our left over sauce from other dishes. The spicy chili garlic fish is amazing. Lots of fish in the dish and the sauce is flavourful and delicious. Prices are good and the smell of other diner dishes prompts me to want to return to try them. Some negatives..Spring rolls are tiny. One bite wonders. Chicken in black bean was ok however the sauce is a far cry from true black bean taste. The chicken content while plentiful looks like slabs of meat cut off the breast. Should be sliced smaller however it was also still super moist and enjoyable. Ordered a sczhezuan beef to go and it was orange??? That was unexpected and the beef was a little chewy. Not sure wed order it again. Waiter could not identify an ingredient in a dish which should be a requirement for a server and we had to ask for water even after being seated and having ordered. No attempt to even offer the sale of drinks. ?? Still curious if I ate plantains for the first time. Enjoyed the mystery vegetable. Also as posted in another review possibly frozen carrots used with a strange taste. For limited patronage the food was super slow from the kitchen, definitely fresh made to order and I might hazard a guess there was one chef on this Tuesday night based on the speed. Not a huge negative. All in we enjoyed most of the food and will return to try different dishes which smelt and looked great. Decent value to portion and quality. Unappealing frontage in a drab strip mall however the inside is cosy and clean with a limited number of tables so the weekend might be a challenge to get seated. We enjoyed the Indian music in the background as we dined. Keep an open mind that you are not dining on tradirional Chinese and you should expect more Indian spice in the food. Not over the top though.

We felt like she was trying to just get rid of us/customers with a fake smile on her face. It was disappointing!!!!! This is not the way any restaurant should treat their customer! The worst Chicken Chop suey I ve ever had in my life. Stale cauliflower. Raw broccoli is acceptable but dry noodles and premade black juice for chop suey? Microwave heated chicken? This restaurant is a joke. I work nearby for almost 2 years and this is the first and last time I tried this restaurant. Sorry. I hate the food here.

Could not be a more pathetic experience! Serves Kung Pao Chicken with No peanuts and when asked, we were said that peanuts (the main ingredient) is out of stock and they had no courtesy to inform us while ordering or preparing for the order. The dish was served using mix frozen veggies packets and The Manchurian is literally a burnt pakoda!! Asked the host about any recent changes as the food was not good, she said Oh, I did not cook it hence its not good today and that left us speechless and hopeless. Date of visit: 11/Sep/2023

We ate second time here yesterday on 7th October the food was good as always but service had a big issue Someone whose known to the owner and chef came to eat with his family and chef himself came to meet him and also offered couple of complimentary/on the house item to them that s not the problem but actual problem started from there. The chef himself and both the servers became so much occupied in serving that family that they almost forgot us and other guests eating. We had to wait a long time before they prepare our food and serve even though we ordered before that family. I hope the owner/chef understands that even though they serve Indian food here but it is not India this is Canada and they should honour Canadian values of giving equal respect to all the guests and also those guests should understand it too that this is their business place and they can keep personal relationships out of their business. I hope they learn from this. I am not going again if this is the way guests are treated even though the food was great because there are so many other options.

Food is usually pretty good, chicken Thai yellow curry plate & pakora plates are my favourite. Their hot and sour soup is very good! Service is very hit or miss, sometimes they re quick to take your order and you can reasonably go for lunch within an hour, other times they don t come around to even take orders within 25 mins forcing you to leave to grab fast food or they don t bring cutlery and napkins until you get up yourself and go find them.

AMAZING food!! Had a phenomenal bday lunch here, the food was amazing! Sadly didnt take too many pictures since the food was just way too good and had to dig in. If I had to reccomend one thing from this restaurant itd be the lollipop chicken! One of the best Ive ever had

I ordered veg Manchurian and hakkanoodles. They took 1.5 hours to prepare and the taste of Manchurian was undercooked. Staff is not professional. Very disappointing .

If you like India style street noodles, this is the place to be. Many choices to selct from, very reasonable price for what you get.

Not sure how this place have a 4.4 rating with 1k reviews, we had a poor experience. Giving them a star for the tom yum soup and chili garlic fish. I am from Toronto so I knew not to compare. But food was not good, just in large portions, and the oil they used was either burnt or old and everything had that oil smell other than the 2 items mentioned above. Dont recommend ordering the Thai chili chicken (was served cold!!), the house fried rice or Singapore noddles. Unless you have better luck, then everything might come up Milhouse for you. Saw people leave who were there before us cause the food didnt come out for over an hr. We were outta town and were stuck as most other places had closed by then on a Sunday.

The taste is mouthwatering, Biryani style fried rice and fish pakora are my favorite. Please try it.....

Lunch special is worth it - not a fan of either soup, but can sub in a pop instead. Enjoy the General Taos, Chili Garlic chicken as tops.

Delicious. Lots of flavour. First time eating here and loved the rice dishes, tandoori fish, and dumpling soup. Unfortunately, they forgot to include our noodle dish, which we paid for, but we ll get a credit next time. We ll be back.

Service was too slow and food I cant make any commitments as of now. Tho the person working down there trying to manage everything, so 5 stars for him atleast.

Recently, I have had multiple incidences and complaints with them regarding their Tandoori fried rice. Previous times, the rice has been made well, especially when eating in restaurant, including the packed leftovers, that were eaten the next day, stayed fresh. Just recently, they served me 2 containers of takeout Tandoori rice that had clearly spoiled rice that smelled and tasted bad, and was very sticky. I threw out the first one and brought in the second one to the store to show them. After which they agreed it was spoiled and cooked a fresh serving that tasted fresh and good. I was very sad to see that it happened again today. The tandoori rice is clearly sticky, tastes off and is hard to eat. But when I called to notify them, they seemed careless and to not take any responsibility for it. If the the chef and management do not take notice, and resolve this health hazard, it would be hard to keep relying on them on being my go to restaurant.

Had earmarked this place as we surprisingly found a Hakka restaurant in Guelph. The best way to try is with the lunch special for $10 + taxes you get a dish from a long list, steamed rice, a soup and two mini spring rolls. Not a bad price Inside is quite cozy and we got a nice booth. The service is quick and servers seemed to wearing street clothes and not a uniform We had a Paneer Chilli, Veg Manchurian, Spicy Stir Vegetable (the last two being Vegan) with steamed rice and egg free vegan fried rice. The Paneer Chilli a bit on the spicy side the way it needs to be. The Veg Manchurian, very good pakoras with still crispy on the outside and soft inside. The sauce needs a bit of a work - a little more seasoning and a bit of spiciness. The Stir Veggies was spicy just the way it was requested. Fantastic sauce and seasoning. The downer? Most the veggies were perhaps were frozen kind. So instead of a crunch or a bite had a strange texture to it. The Veggie Hot N Sour Soup was OK. It needed a lot more spice and seasoning as well. The Spring Roll same freshly fried, but being made from frozen it had a flavour that was not pleasing.

Have visited here a couple of times. The food is good, the prices are okay and the portion sizes are generous. I have only one complaint, every time I have been here, the other tables were full of dirty dishes. If they could focus only cleanup, I would definitely give them 5 stars.
