The Works is a full service, licensed, casual dining restaurant chain with outdoors work themes. The restaurant’s main menu feature is burgers
First of all the server - she was great. This review has nothing to do with her. This review is about other things that made the experience poor. First of all, as soon as we walked in, the entire place was smoky from the cooking. You could see the smoke in the air and feel it in your lungs. All we could smell was the smoke through the entire experience. Secondly, there was no ice for our drinks. Their ice machine was broken. My pop was warm and disgusting, and the server said she would take the pop off the bill and we were charged for our drinks anyways and I had barely touched mine because it was warm and flat. I went to use the bathroom, and the toilet was broken - it did not flush. I ordered a grilled chicken and the Harvey's Grilled chicken outshines the one I had here. Very sad to have had this experience as usually The Works is a go-to for us, but it may be a long while before we return based on the above things that went wrong and made the experience less than satisfying.
This was rough. I've been to this chain in the past and had a great experience. Unfortunately, this location, this night, had zero beer on tap, no ice (lukewarm caeser anyone!?), no lemonade, no tea... And these were just things we tried ordering! I genuinely felt bad for the server having to be the bearer of bad news every time we tried ordering something only for it to be out of stock. No fault of hers, but the food we did order took an unusually long time to arrive. I don't know if this is an anomaly or a regular occurrence for this location as we were from out of town. Either way, won't be back. Adding to the disaster was the fact that 1 of 2 bathroom stalls was out of order and the one that was supposedly in order didn't flush and didn't have toilet paper. Gross. As a former service industry employee, this place likely should have shut down for the night...or however long they were without essentials like the craft beer that's suggested in the name of the place.
The Works Crafts Burgers and Beer is a fantastic spot with a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service. The craft beers are diverse and expertly curated, catering to every taste. Their food menu pairs perfectly with the drinks, featuring delicious options made with high-quality ingredients. Whether you're looking for a casual night out or a special gathering, this place delivers a memorable experience. Highly recommended!
Loved my visit to The Works Burger and Craft Beer! The staff was welcoming and the service was prompt. The burgers were some of the best I've had, and the craft beers were a perfect match. Can't wait to come back!
Fantastic experience at The Works Burger and Craft Beer! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The burgers were delicious and the craft beer selection was impressive. Highly recommend this spot for great food and excellent service!
Kyle was very personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and an amazing cook. I highly recommend the elk burger with lettuce bun! Stays together well and keto friendly! Geneourous portions, tasty filling food! Thank you for the great customer service and awesome food. Kyle answered our questions, made suggestions. Thoroughly happy with our tower of onion rings too!
It's really one of the best hamburgers I've tasted, the restaurant is clean and spacious, the portions are huge.. I struggle a bit for finishing. They also have plenty of options for a side. Just I would like the waitress to speak a bit slow and they actually try to understand the order, despite that the restaurant was almost empty, they look in a rush. But they were friendly, and always with a big smile.
I had such a great experience at this restaurant location! After a long busy day, I was greeted so nicely by Matt. Made me feel so welcomed! I came with a group of 5 and we got seated right away. Our server name was Andy, she was AMAZING! They had so many options on the menu and we asked Andy so many questions. She helped us narrow down our options to pick the best burger that suits us! We all enjoyed our burgers or group got the maple burger, impossible Burger, and the pineapple burger and we all loved our burger. We said we will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for your great customer service, you guys made our day!
Review: I recently dined at Works Guelph, and while the food quality was decent, the overall experience left much to be desired. One major issue is the inconsistency in menu availability. Many items on the menu were not available, which was both disappointing and frustrating. It would be extremely helpful if the host provided a list of available dishes upfront when taking orders, rather than letting guests choose only to be told later that their selection isn t possible. Additionally, the managements attitude was surprisingly lacking in courtesy. There was little effort to accommodate guests or address concerns in a professional manner. A more guest-focused approach and transparent communication about the menu would greatly enhance the dining experience. Until these issues are resolved, I d be hesitant to recommend this restaurant to others.
I visited The Works in downtown Guelph tonight and was extremely disappointed with my experience. My party of two arrived at 6:00 pm and placed our order by 6:10 pm. At that time, the restaurant was not overly busy, with only a few tables occupied. We ordered waters and our food, but after about 30 minutes, the table of 8 next to us (who ordered 5 mins prior to us) received their meals. By 7:00 pm, we were offered a water refill and told our food would be ready in just five more minutes. At 7:30 pm, after waiting for an hour and a half with no sign of our food, we had no choice but to leave. As someone with experience in the service industry, I understand that delays can happen, but there was a clear lack of urgency and attention to customers. The restaurant was not busy enough to justify the extended wait time, and there seemed to be no clear plan for managing orders or communicating with customers. After reading similar reviews, it s clear this is an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed. Management should investigate the root cause of these excessive wait times and consider staff training or process improvements. Unfortunately, this experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I will not be returning.
Amazing burgers and great gluten free bun! Unlimited fries, consistent quality, this is a frequent spot for my company.
Burger wasnt great ... maybe next time Im up for risking 100 bucks for 2 burgers Ill try something thing new .
We ate lunch there today with 3 kids and 3 adults. The food was delicious and plentiful and the service was outstanding. Parking: We always seem to find a spot on the street right in front. Kid-friendliness: We took our 3 grandkids, aged 8-11. The menu was great for them and our server was perfect with them.
Awesome burger, friendly service. Will be back!
Our favorite burger place in Guelph! With awesome salads too! Vegetarian options: Best salads and sides! Food : 5/5 |
Really like the Hawaii burger, cream cheese and pine apple is shockingly delicious. I think the floor needs some cleaning, crumbs r everywhere.
GOOD SERVICE. EXCELLENT FOOD. LOVE THE HOT SAUCE ALTERNATIVE.
The food was good as always. Only issue is they recently changed the gluten free buns.....fall apart before you can eat the burger Dietary restrictions: Gluten free buns and burger options
Ayla was super nice and gave us a great experience definitely will be back!!!
Very good service from Ayla today she was super helpful and kind. Will be back for sure!!
This was hands down the worst restaurant experience I ve ever had. We were there for 50 mins before getting waters, 50 mins before getting out drinks, and and hour and a half to get our food . When the food finally came out it was cold and dry. I was STARVING at that point so at a decent amount it. Half way through waiting we talked about just leaving and going somewhere else.. wish we did. The waitress 100% forgot to put our order in. We could see the kitchen and watched her talk to the kitchen about it. The waitress never apologized for the long wait for cold food. Never sent a manager over. THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HELPING HER. The manager 100% knew what was going on and did nothing. I m assuming they ve changed management because when we ve gone in the past it s been great but I m so disappointment and will NOT be dining her again.
Well we had a bad experience at one of our annual at the least spots. Our food took about an hour and a half, and was cold. We noticed a half eaten burger and leftover onion rings at a table where customers once sat. Which were not cleared for the whole duration of our time there. Maybe understaffed?
** Update - literal lies to say the drinks were on the table within 10 minutes - we sat in the restaurant for a solid 10-20 minutes before the server even came over to greet us and we waited much longer to finally get water. Y all it wasn t even busy at all. There were 4 other tables. While smoking outside we had a clear view of the food window so we definitely did not see our food up at all. We went for a smoke when we saw our server freak out and tell the kitchen she forgot to place our order. Y all were waiting for the burger patty s to cook cause they were the only hot things on the plate. The fries were colddddd. Your response honestly just proves the lack of accountability the management here has. The copy and pasted responses are whack. There was no management in sight that night and if there was they certainly weren t helping the young waitress at all. I could literally keep going with how bad the experience was. Also it s a huge no to hand an unopened can to a customer. We are all servers and all did our smart serve, we know this. Doesn t matter about customer preference. ** Honestly this was a terrible experience. The service was terrible. Took a literal 50 minutes to get drinks. Took another 30 minutes to get food. The server clearly forgot to ring our orders (we were sitting at the table and saw the interaction she had with the kitchen when she realized the mistake) to preface, I am a server and did feel bad for her at a point. On the other hand, we told her the food was cold - no offer to remake the fries, no discount was offered. Absolutely no communication on the servers end. Customer service was severely lacking. It was sooooo frustrating. We were a bunch of stoned hungry people so we did eat it most of it when it eventually got to the table. But seriously we all regretted going here. My friend took her patty home to her dog it was super dry. Clearly the place needs better management cause this wasn t a busy night in the slightest. Thank god the dessert bar next door redeemed the experience. Literally will nevvvver go back. Management you can do better.
Update 2: First pic is when my friend called to tell me they sat down, I was a minute away and we ordered within five mins of that call. Second pic is us with still no water at the table and a time stamp. That is almost a half hour later (and it was still another good chunk of time before water came), so no, drinks did not come within ten minutes, let alone water. Management responded to my friends email saying they can confirm the food arrive within 30 minutes.. if you can confirm it, than please show us the evidence you had to confirm this because thats a joke. Also, we DID let our waitress know one guest had to leave early, so this manager truly has no idea what they are talking about. They apologize but then accuse us of lying in the same email. I never plan to go here again so I know it seems ridiculous to make a big deal out of this but the lie after lie after lie from management is what has us all fired up. Update: How are you possibly going to lie and say the drinks were served in 10 minutes when we hadnt even been greeted in 10 minutes??Water came at around 45 minutes and drinks after almost an hour- this is not an exaggeration, we were constantly checking the time because we were so stunned at how slow the service was despite their only being five tables. Literally roll the cameras. Our food did not go cold because we went outside, we went outside BECAUSE we saw that our order had been forgotten and was only just placed. The poor service is one thing but to now blatantly lie about it is actually crazy. The whole situation could have been rectified if at any point someone communicated to us the mishap. A few people in our group are servers themselves and we would have understood. Shocked at this response, the lies are actually laughable. New management should NOT get to keep the five star reviews that the old management collected from providing good service. ----- Would like to preface this by saying we have had a decent experience at the Works before in the past but the service we had tonight was by far the WORST service any of us have ever had at a restaurant. Although we didnt speak with management, it is obvious the works is under new management after reading similar reviews. Its been a few hours since we left and we still cant stop talking about. We were a party of 6 and it wasnt slammed at all, we were one of 5 tables. We ordered our drinks and food and our drinks didnt come for 55 minutes, even water took 45 minutes. Our friends beer was handed to her in the uncracked can, which is illegal. More time passed and our friend had to leave for an appointment still without food. About 40 or so mins go by and were all stunned at how long its taking for food, when we see them finally put our chit up in the kitchen, meaning our order was forgotten about, but never communicated to us. The food finally comes almost two hours into being there and its so cold.. not just not hot, legitimately cold, which made no sense since they obviously rushed to get it to us since we were forgotten. The meat was the driest meat any of us have ever had. We communicated this to our server and we werent rude about it because we felt bad for her and she says oh, Im sorry and walks away... Doesnt tell her manager or anyone because she obviously was aware this mixup had been her fault and didnt want to get in trouble. Just own your mistakes, we truly would not have cared. But to wait almost 2 hours, have the coldest driest food ever, nothing comped and no communication. That was the ONLY time I have ever tipped 0 dollars, even when I have bad service Ill do minimum 15%. I wish we refused the food honestly, but we were all way too starving. Waste of money and calories. Will not go back.
Burgers were burnt to hockey puck status, multiple and not the first time, and paid for toppings were not included, again. I would think that a supposedly renowned burger joint would at least be able to nail the burger part. $100 order, on just 3 burgers, and they severely ruined 2... again, not for the first time. Waste of money, $30 on a burger i would have been better served by getting from any fast food place at a quarter of the price. If this had been a one time off night, sure. But no, every single time weve ordered from there, garbage results. Buddy kept telling me it was a one off, each and every time hes been wrong. Dont waste your money.
Had an amazing Malibu meltdown. Server was fantastic.
Friendly service and great food !
Weve been going here a while and always really good food. The burgers are great and rhe menu is really funny to read. This visit by Mansi and she was really pleasant and she was very helpful with make modifications to our order
The food was good and staff is friendly. Definitely visiting again :)
Very good burgers
Real good burgers!
Great service, great staff! The food was delicious and came out quickly. Our server Bella was great with recommendations and let us customize our order.
Great food and service! So yummy and such a cute restaurant
Management of this place should be ashamed of themselves. Just found out its under new ownership! Wife and I have been several times always with great service from the same 2 female servers. Food is always enjoyable (elk burger is great) the chef does a great job with what seems like very little help. But after Saturday evening we will not be returning after witnessing the managements treatment of one of their servers. It was very busy and it seemed very understaffed and the servers were working extremely hard but that was obviously not enough for the manager as she got right in one girls face yelling and carrying on in front of the entire restaurant. It doesnt matter what the issue is it should be done behind closed doors and at a normal speaking tone. If you cant treat your employees right you dont deserve to manage anything in this industry. And surely dont deserve my dollars to be spent there. If we have a craving I will stop at the Works in Oakville on my way home at least there management seems to care.
Management treating staff poorly and loudly right in front of guests. Restaurant cleanliness has also gone downhill since new management.
Best Burgers and Craft Beer in Town! I recently visited The Works, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! If youre a burger lover, this is the place to be. The burger selection is incredible, with so many unique and delicious options. I tried the kamikaze and it was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor. The toppings were fresh and generously portioned, making every bite a delight. To complement the burger, I had one of their crafted beers. The beer menu is impressive, featuring a variety of local brews. I opted for the tallboy, and it was the perfect match for my meal crisp, refreshing, and with a perfect hint of hops. The atmosphere at The Works is welcoming and vibrant, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a go out with friends. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and provided excellent service. I highly recommend The Works for anyone looking for an outstanding burger and beer experience. Ill definitely be coming back for more!
Food and atmosphere in this place never disappoints.
Ordered the maple burger last night, toppings were good and sides were great but the burger was dry, hard and burnt. There s no way someone didn t notice it it was like chewing on cardboard. Really disappointing from a burger joint.
Beyond disappointing experience, we wont be back. We came for a birthday celebration and booked ahead of time, having had great food and service here for many years. Rumor is that it is under new management... It took us an hour to receive 2 onion ring towers and half of our tables drink orders , another half hour for the rest. Water for the table just never arrived until we were paying the bill. Food arrived an hour and a half after ordering, overcooked dry patties, many of them burnt. One of our party recieved a frozen burger bun. Our waitress, who also seemed to be required to be front of house, drink maker, and cleaner, tried her best to manage all the tables and tasks solo. I hope she finds a better restaurant who will appreciate her. When we asked to speak to the manager we were met with a dozen of excuses for the poor experience, including that they werent expecting to be so busy, even though we had called days ahead of time. If it it indeed under new management whose policies it is to reduce staff to bare bones and then offer sub par food and service, this once beloved rest wont survive much longer.
We needed to get in & out in 30 minutes and Mansi promised and got that done for us while we enjoyed a terrific meal. Mansi checked on us often; always with a smile on her face. Would definitely go back.
The food was great, but the server wasnt with it at the end of our stay. We had a coupon to receive free tower of rings (gave it to her as we placed our order) if you bought two burgers. When the bill came, i paid, and after looking at the bill, she charged us for the rings! It wasnt busy either. I tried to use the mens washroom and was a total mess! While they cleaned it up, I had to use the ladies! Only to find that it didnt have toilet paper! I did get my money for the rings and something for my troubles. Make sure you check the washrooms before eating!
Got an Angus beef mushroom melt burger. It was dry and the mushrooms were weirdly too sweet for a burger.
Great burgers! If you want to try something different this is your spot.
Been here a few times. We enjoy it. Consistent quality. Prices are climbing, service is acceptable. Tables are still sticky, and need refinishing
Owners are rude, food is greasy. Will never come back. Stay far away
Always have a great experience at this location. The server I dont know her name, shes served us many times and is so friendly. Even getting me lots of extra pickles for my burger because yum I love pickles. I appreciate it!
We came in today and had great burgers and the best onion rings ever ! Then we asked for a take out burger and the gentleman who was the chef and server packaged it so well, it was enjoyable at home . Excellent service!!
Thanks Ayla
Great food. Fast service
Consistently good. Been coming for years. I know the shop is under new management. Was a little unsure at first. But our food and service tonight has been excellent! Keep up the great effort.
Definitely NOT a 4.5 star burger place - reasonable at best, and the worst overcooked onion rings I have ever had!!! Go around the corner to the Royal Electric if you want a decent burger. The only thing that saved our night out was the excellent wait staff.
Everything was great, no real complaints. But if I had to critique anything it would be that I felt a little lost when I first entered, there was no sign to take a seat or wait to be seated, so I waited while the waitresses/hosts walked back and forth past me for a few minutes.
A good solid blue cheese burger! Lunch special was well priced. Only significant complaint would be a lackluster draught selection!
Quiet place for lunch on a Saturday. However, the staff was super friendly and service was prompt. We have been here a few times and the service has always been great.
Great place. The burgers are delicious!
The Guelph location is honestly great food. Good portion sizes as compared to the Kitchener location
Amazing food, amazing service. Would go again. Decor is unique and I love the fact you get served bevvies in measuring cups.
Best burgers in town
One of the best burger places around. Really nicely cooked patties and awesome pairing of toppings. Always return when Im feeling a burger. Great price too.
Worst place I ve ever experienced. We ordered on line and no sauces for burgers let alone for sweet potato fries it was ice cold when we got it and call store and no one answered 73.06 for 2 burgers I d expect better quality very disappointing and burgers were thrown out couldn t swallow it so dry
Excellent burgers!
I enjoyed this place. Quality burgers and fries, but I did pay 70 dollars for 2 burgers, 2 sides and a pair of milkshakes; it was a New Years Eve treat. 70 dollars though. Im hemming and hawing on this on whether it was worth it. I mean, dont get me wrong, the food was great and even though I only spoke to them for a minute, all the staff I dealt with were extremely friendly. My recommendation is that you try it. Was it the best burger I ever had? No, but probably top 15 maybe. Tough to say, Ill probably go back again.
I love this place. Great food.
Epic burger joint! The menu is mind boggling, so many choices of toppings and some crazy options Id have never thought of. A really family friendly place with a solid kids menu. Theyve got tasty craft beers and and cocktails. Highly recommend.
Great food great customer service
Lots of options and different choices of meat. Great poutine and onion rings. Service was amazing. Will be back
This is a burger chain owned by MTY food group out of Montreal. So you really cant go wrong with a burger from a franchise chain. Food will always be consistent. Waitress took our order and mentioned that the burgers will be slightly pink in the middle. And it was and tasted delicious. Place was clean and rustic feel. Will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options Parking: Street parking availability Kid-friendliness: Kids menu options Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Always a great place to have a burger... which is why most people come here... staff always friendly and entertaining, our server tripped up the stairs, he was OK and the girls got a giggle out of it.
Great meal and service
The food was great and so was the service. The atmosphere was fun and inviting with a industrial vibe. My son is vegetarian and he really appreciated the options, as well as the taste.
Food was good. They were fairly busy.
Took my wife for a dinner date. The burger was so yummy had the cheese ball for the app and was so yummy too. The server was fast and always made sure my wife and I had everything we needed. Prices are high but the quality matches the price.
We love this chain and this place has been one of the best ones that we have visited. Super friendly staff.
Poutine was really salt ... Burger was just alright but lettuce really really bad resulting in bad experience (look at the pictures). I spend over 60 dollars for two combos but I got bitter tasting burger.
Best burgers in Guelph!
Food was absolutely excellent, and barely took longer than expected considering how busy they were. Our waitress was very pleasant, but not nearly as attentive and was slightly forgetful and a bit slower to take care of two small/easy requests. Overall though: Id highly recommend The WORKS!
10/10 Food. Very clean and friendly staff. Best burger ive has in a long time
Cozy atmosphere with delicious burgers. Its completely worth checking this place out.
I was disappointed to find them closed today when Google said they would be open. Hopefully in future they will add their holiday hours to Google. We love their burgers and had a craving.
Cool
Amazing service and food. ESPECIALLY WRECKING BALLS OMG LOL
OMG! BEST burger ever!!! Excellent service, good music, good drinks.. everything was perfect!! I loved this place and Ill come back for sure!!
This is a chain restaurant but it was my first time there with my husband and a couple of friends that have been there before. The burgers are really tasty! They have a lunch menu where you can choose a burger, one side and it comes with pop. There is also a special menu for kids with burger, side, juices and a dessert option. The place has special names for each burger and the one I ordered is called son of a beech I really like avocado taste at the burger.
Great burgers and fries, great onion rings. Parking situation is poor.
Very nice place with amazing food and service.
Everything there is grey r, even the experience to go to the washroom due to the names they used The food is great. If you could, try the hamburgers filled with cheese. Food
Not bad....
I love the works. This one in guelph was just as good as the one in London. The burgers are really great. I love the peppercorn patty.
Such a well run place with great food. Fun place to patio. Enjoy!
Good service sometimes they forget that you are there if there are not many customers in. The food is well priced and I the burgers are really good. Bottomless fries are just the icing on top. Dietary restrictions: they will try there best but they do not have many other types of oils if there are certain dietary restrictions.
Love that this place has little quirks like light bulb salt and pepper shakers and your drinks come in measuring cups. The service was amazing and the food was great for the kids
Delicious. Loved the outdoor patio, excellent service and great meal. Lots of selection so something for everyone. Patio is dog friendly so will bring pup next time.
Very friendly staff. We went at a good time so there was no wait to be seated. Food was delicious and the waitress was really nice. And we didnt feel rushed at all after we were finished.
Fun place to meet up with yummy food.
We had a lovely server! Great experience and yummy comfort food.
When I visited The Works in Guelph and called the restaurant 30 minutes before closing to see if I could place an order. They confirmed that it would be no problem, but I should have trusted my gut. The burger patty was overdone and burned, which was disappointing. Overall, I would rate my experience at this location as 2 out of 5 stars, as the quality of the burger was not up to par.
The burgers were good, fries ok. Onion rings, great. The bench and floor were dirty with leftover food. The table felt sticky. No offer to move us, only people there early. Food
Awesome food
So much great food with great service.
Delicious food and amazing service. Cant go wrong coming here when youre in Guelph.
Great selection of unique burgers. Family-friendly, interesting decor, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Approx $22 per meal.
I had the magic mushroom burger and what a disappointment. No flavour at all, no seasoning, burger wasnt hot and French fries had no flavour and were kind of cold. The cheese balls wrapped in bacon were disappointing too. I dont usually write reviews but when the Suprimo subway I had 3 weeks ago is 100% tastier and more flavourful than the burger I had at The Works last night, that deserves a review! Do not recommend it at all
Pricey burgers!
The waitress was not friendly at all, very impatient energy from the get-go. We came with a party of 6 and they gave us two tables split apart that we could not combine because it apparently was a fire hazard. It was exceedingly strange and frankly ridiculous, we all just ended up grouping around one small table because we came as a group. Im not exactly sure how many people burn to death at restaurants because their tables were pushed together but I guess Im not a fire inspector so what do I know. Thankfully the redeeming quality of the Works is that the food is delicious and with large portions and I love how the drinks are served in measuring cups. There are countless variations of burgers here which can satisfy even the pickiest eaters.
Hands down THE BEST burgers in Guelph. Absolutely high quality meat, so many options, tastes amazing!!! The burgers are seriously moist, juicy, and has that bbq taste! The onion rings are the best onion rings
The burger dwactiptions on the menu all spu d so good...it was hard to choose! A little disappointed in the appetizer we chose. Buffalo Cauliflower Bites...small portion for sharing. Burgers, spicy fries and cesaer salad were all delicious
Our server was great. My kids and I love coming here and enjoying the food and music. Dietary restrictions: Our server remembered we had some allergies from a previous visit. Thanks
Great grilled chicken burger
Great food great service
Great-tasting burgers in a retro factory-style setting. Makes for a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
The Works in Guelph has been a regular spot for us, mainly due to the exceptional service that complements their delicious burgers. The staff manager, who often doubles as our server, genuinely stands out. She is attentive, regularly engages in pleasant conversation, and impressively remembers our usual orders. What really sets The Works apart is their menu, with hilariously named dishes and customization options for burgers from the cooking style, bun type, to a diverse range of sides. Overall, it s an ideal spot for a relaxed date night or a small family dinner, which is why I recommend it.
We always have an awesome meal here.
Great burger and great service!
The Art of burger! Excellent place.... So many different burger combinations that youve never thought of before. Different cheeses and toppings make each Burger individually creative. They even had Gluten free buns. Cant wait to go back and try a different one.
Lots of great burgers with unique topping options. Shakes and floats are good as well and come in a 4cup measuring cup. However the cheapest option is still around $20.
Tragically Maple was amazing! Tower of onion rings was a lot bigger than I expected
Food, service & cleanliness EXCEPTIONAL! Even smells FRESH & CLEAN in the washrooms where in many places when the main restaurant is impeccable the behind closed doors lacks... all around EXCELLENT experience here today! Daniel D was our server on receipt. Shout out to him for being an exceptional server today!
Ordered lunch from them and food was so good and the portion sizes were great too.
Burgers are a little higher priced then I was anticipating food wise
It seems no matter which chain we go to, the service and food is always impeccable. Keep up the good work
Soooo good!!!! I ordered the Blue cheese burger and as a blue cheese fan I think it s the best one I ve had. The Tragically Fries were sooooo good. Everything was at the right portions and nothing was unbalanced.
My family and I love The Works! Excellent burgers and the best onion rings.
The burgers were amazing...the beef patties as tasty as weve ever had. And the French Fries also tasted great. 5 stars for the food. Only rating at 4 stars because the seats were uncomfortable to sit on.
Cant go wrong with this place. Food is delicious.
Fun menu, great atmosphere and good service.
I love this place!
Good burgers generous portions
Amazing, creative burgers. Onion rings and fries are out of this world. Definitely coming back soon! Went back today. My friend was impressed and said THAT was a good burger!
I ve been going here since I was in high School many years and the food has always been great. I have not been here since the pandemic so I decided to go since everything is open again. I noticed the prices went up quite a bit which sucks but understandable since everything is going up. My problem is that the prices went up and the burgers have gotten a lot smaller. I feel like it has gotten at least 30% smaller. When ever I ate there I couldn t touch the fries because the burger was so big but now I finished the burger and fries and was still hungry. After spending 25 plus dollars on a meal I should be full. I know my appetite has gotten smaller through the years so it does not make sense. The food is still great but cannot recommend after raising prices and making the burgers a lot smaller.
The Taste of Heaven burger certainly lives up to its name. Make sure to take full advantage of the bottomless fries while youre here too!
Never had a bad burger from the works. Nice to see the old menu coming back, still dont have my favorite the hunka hunka but a few classics and some new items! Milkshakes are awesome and Im a huge fan of the die cut chips. Would recommend!
Good service
Best burgers and fries! Really need to work on the gravy though..its just not nice!
ABSOLUTELY YUMMY BURGER !!!
Awesome food! Waitress was fantastic. We have been there before and always a good meal. We will be back again for sure.
Great burger, amazing selection.
Good burgers, large selection and combinations. Fries are fresh and hot. Pricing is fair. The cucumbers side that we ordered was bitter but the restaurant didnt charge us. Wonderful service.
Great restaurant for different functions: family gathering, anniversary, dating, friends gathering. Service is friendly. Burgers are jucy and tender rich in flavor. Wide variety of burgers that it has hard to determine what to eat as they are all delicious
Burgers were amazing! Service matched it! Definitely coming again!
Was fun place we usually go for celebrations.
Great food. Awesome staff.
Excellent food & service! Great wheelchair accessible restaurant, which is very difficult in the area. Will definitely be back as always!
Decent place. The burgers are only meh. Its the variety of toppings that makes it worthwhile. The best item on the menu is the tower of onion rings.
5 star burgers. Period. Good beer. Great staff. My go-to Guelph burger joint.
The place where you can eat a good burger (in several different ways) and drink a good beer
I enjoy The Works every time I go. I am hooked on the Tragically Maple burger, so good! Vegetarian options: My vegetarian daughter loved her beyond burger
Great burgers, great service and its dog friendly!!!
Is ketchup not offered at this restaurant? We ordered online for pick up and added ketchup to our order on 3 of the 4 burgers. Did not get any. Fries were good. Burgers were OK. Order was well packaged and ready at the time given.
Fabulous food, Both vegan and GF, Awesome service. Whether alone or with a group, you will not be disappointed.
Went on Sunday. Had the fight club chicken burger. Was the best burger I ve had in a very long time. Waitress was very helpful and food was delicious 5 stars.
The Works Guelph is always a solid place to grab a really good burger. Lots of great option for different combinations of toppings. I have yet to have a burger I didnt like. And dont forget bottomless fries. Its not always visible on the menu bit ask foe the dipping sauce for the fries. Try them all!!
Burgers are really good. But the fries You can just tell they are fresh Im house and made to order.
What an amazing burger I will do it again if Im ever back in the area. The person I was with said it. Is a little expensive( burger fries and 16 Oz pop 25.00 was worth every cent for a great tasting burger. Vegetarian options: Yes but why Parking: Street parking but lots
Good burgers, friendly staff, clean. A little understaffed when we went which was a point of complaint from staff when we were served. All in all, a good experience.
BORGOR
Fantastic quality of the burgers and the staff
This place is so good that someone would probably have to pay me to stop going weekly.
Loved the food (so tasty and so much!). Service was out of this world
Everything was great
Went at about 7 on a Saturday. Was moderately busy but service was prompt and good. Everyone loved their burgers, they were amazing. Big variety for all tastes, have to go again to try the ones I also wanted. Vegetarian options: You can sub an impossible (veggie) patti and fully enjoy the burger experience.
Terrible, got there and wasn t welcomed politely I was just asked how many people there were with me no hello. Got seated and again no follow up friendly chit chat or the name of who was serving us. Sat for like 10 minutes deciding what go get and went to the bathroom, when I came back the other people at my table said they hadn t even gotten asked about drinks, no attention of any kind. So as any unhappy customer we walked out and instead of asking if there was a issue a male waiter just standing near a table with crossed arms doing nothing watched us walk out. Overall not a good experience, go somewhere else.
Great service, Ivegone here for years and they never fail to disappoint. Lots of menu options, pleasant staff, easily accessible from downtown Guelph, and a good atmosphere for in regards to a social setting.
It was delicious perfect time to go was 2pm on Sat caught the lunch special
I d you want a great burger and bottomless fries, this is your place!
Great service food was slow and just okay.
Its not as great as it used to be. We ordered lunch from the lunch menu. Less choices, nothing to be excited about and the burgers were smaller yet the price was not
Good burgers Parking: Hard to find Food : 4/5 |
Delicious food. Service was a little slow. Foul languafe graffiti in boys room that my kiddos saw. Overall a good restaurant.
Top of my list for Poutine and onion rings and hamburgers (there are a lot of options available). Everything Ive tried is delicious. The lemonade is great too.
Gluten free burgers and delicious
Great fast service with very kind staff. Food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Love the style of the whole place, its very unique, definitely worth the visit!
Great staff and yumminess on the caribou burger omy the the flavors I my mouthsooo good sundries tomatoes on it mmmm think cook was in a rush my sweet potato fries were bit crisper then I like but I came for the burger so mission accomplished awesome meal..and frome the smiles on my ladyfingers she was happy also
Did you know? The Works will donate $1 from the sale of every Born to be Brie Good burger goes to the Food Bank!! #givingback #downtownGuelph Another solid reason to visit this spot.
The tragically maple burger I had on my last visit was one of my best experiences here.
Heres the problem with this place: the burger at The Keg, Baker Street, and Bread Bar are all at the same, if not below the price of The Works. Is it a good burguer? Sure. Is it worth $20 in comparison to other $20 burguer? Not even close. Patty was dry, my friend I was with ordered a burguer with a single onion ring! $20 and you only get one onion ring in the burguer. Overall, The Works offers value in variety of toppings. But the burguer itself is hard to justify, this is more a one-time novelty thing. I wouldnt necessary recommend it.
Great people, amazing service.
Lots of options! Vegan friendly too!
A little pricey but probably the best hamburgers around in reality. Good atmosphere and family friendly.
Our server was awesome, helped me decide what I wanted to eat. The food was great, and beer choices were pretty good
