I have been eating at Diana Downtown for over a decade and the experience is always positive. The food is awesome.

We gathered for our family thanksgiving dinner here this year. Everything was delicious, from the mango lassi to the masala chai, to the mains. We ended the meal with a round of applause.

We were a big group of international students, all the staff were friendly, food came out quickly and was delicious

Friends and I visited from Toronto and were very pleased with the food and service. At first I was skeptical of the quality of the menu as they have both Western and Indian offerings . Can a restaurant really do multiple cuisines well or will there be compromises? Turns out you can have a quality thali with unique curries and a dope omelette in the same table . Server Sanna facilitated a great dining experience - she even went out of her way to put a birthday candle on a Gulab jamun ball. I recommend this to any local or visitors . Ohhh - did I mention this place is well priced ?

We each had a Naan wrap- Mango chicken and a Tandoori chicken- they were both delicious. The Daal soup was the best we have ever had with whole spices! Layers of flavour! Sunnum told us her mother is the chef and described the process she uses. We also tried the dessert Gulab Jamun which was amazing! Highly recommend!

Love going to Diana Downtown, their curries are amazing, and they have lots of vegetarian options and fun cocktails. Their patio is cute and the large dining room is very charming. Service has always been excellent! Try the butter chicken poutine and thali :)

The service, atmosphere and food at Diana Downtown are incredible. The food is so delicious and very well priced. You definitely will leave satisfied and full! A classic for Guelph and a must try if youre in or visiting the city.

Just went to this place for brunch, and I loved it! Very attentive staff, and a nice cozy atmosphere. I was a bit surprised to see brunch fare and curries on the same menu, but my friends and I tried some of both and both were excellent!

We ordered through skip the dishes tonight and it was so amazing. Salads were super fresh and balanced, the butter chicken was nice and creamy and the Korma was beautiful. They had forgot the Ghandis revenge so we called and they sent out a replacement asap. I believe one of the owners actually drove it over and they included a slice of red velvet cake. Really appreciate the service and the food was awesome! Thank you guys

My family and I have been here many times over the years and it is hands-down our favourite restaurant in Guelph! The entire menu is delicious, especially the chicken tikka masala and kachumber salad. Their butter chicken is unlike any other and I have dreams about the field greens salad dressing. The servers are so kind and we always leave feeling so wonderful. Diana is a staple

Great atmosphere, delicious food!

The curry is not fresh nor is the Naan or chapati that you can get with it. They dont even hide that they use Chef Mike The Microwave I guess if you want a burger or salad probably a better call.

Worst Indian food i have eaten in long time this place is no where close to what indian food taste like..rice taste like they dont wash it and cooked it. Curries taste really blend. butter chiken was good. Thats 1 star for them if u have eaten grain of salt food, this is nothing compare to them!! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian curry taste bad.

Guelph staple! Always delicious Indian food. I tried their Chai this time, and it was perfect for a cold winter day. Vegetarian options: They always offer vegetarian curries as an option as part of their Tali.

My husband and I had an opportunity to go out to dinner while the kids stayed with their aunt. This same aunt suggested Diana Downtown and Im so glad she did. Being from out of town we wouldnt have known about this gem. A long standing family business, they were welcoming and friendly. The ambient lighting was funky and warm. And the food! So good. Most made in house. We had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. I hope to get back there again.

It doesnt quite taste like sadness because this 1 meat/1 veg thali has literally no taste at all. Surprised by ground beef as the meat. Naan was microwaved. Not sure what the matching brown gloup vegetable dish is. Very disappointing. Ordered via Skip. 27 bucks with fees, tip.

We had a corporate even catered by Diana Downtown. Very easy ordering process and great coordination for drop off. Excellent food as well!

We love Dianas. They dont use tge same base for all cream dishes. The coconut cream tastes different from the cashew. They have things for those that dont love Indian food but their Indian food is awesome. Their pakoras are a must. Highly recommend.

Very good experience. The food was good. We were two people. We took one thali and then extra rice and extra kofta curry. Food was delicious and ambiance was good. Waitress kira was really kind, she treated us nicely.

we ordered takeout and truly dont have much good to say portions are small, and food is bland we ordered a lamb curry and 2 vegan curries, the one vegan curry came with yogurt making it not vegan which was rather upsetting we also ordered vegetable samosas and received vegetable spring rolls instead. overall it was not a good experience and we are unlikely to order again.

Diana Downtown hosted our wedding reception this spring. We could not be more pleased with the entire experience from start to finish. Sanna, the manager, was so responsive throughout the entire planning process and made sure every detail was perfect. The actual reception went so smoothly - our guests, who were almost all from out of town, raved about the food and told us how much they appreciated the hospitality. The staff were so attentive to dietary restrictions and the individual needs of all our guests. From helping our youngest guests find something they d like to keeping a plate warm for a guest while she was nursing her newborn - they had everything covered! We re so grateful the team was so willing to go with the flow and really make our day special. I d totally recommend working with the team at Diana Downtown for any kind of event!!! Thanks again!

Food was very average/mediocre compared to other Indian places Ive had as well as pricier. I ended up having a cockroach crawling on the side of my table which I killed and crushed in a napkin. I mentioned it to the server and he didnt seem too phased, he ended up getting me a new napkin and that seemed to be the last we spoke of that. I remember Diana being really great about 10 years ago when I was younger. I wouldnt currently recommend if you have an alternative for Indian.

Dianas has been part of Guelph for longer than I can remember. Over the years the food has been consistently great. High quality food, great atmosphere at reasonable prices.

Please add it to the menu that the naans are heated from frozen and you dont knead the dough and make them. Thank you Food

Great dinner at Diana s a few weeks back for my husband s birthday! Food was delish, service was very friendly and prompt, atmosphere very nice as always. When the server heard it was Lou s birthday, he brought out a beautiful (and big!) piece of chocolate cake that was very much enjoyed. All around great place for a very reasonably price dinner - 5 stars definitely

I ve been to Diana s for lunch a number of times over the years but completely forgot they do brunch and breakfast and hadn t been for that for probably 20 years. I m so disappointed that I forgot! We went today and the breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. I had the Benny Poutine and my friend enjoyed the Chappati Eggs. The hashbrowns in the poutine were AH-mazing. I usually like mine super crispy, but these has just a bit of crisp on the outside and then completely melted in your mouth. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise was buttery and lemony and the scallions were a perfect touch. The service was kind, friendly and attentive and everything was super clean. There are a lot of great brunch places downtown, but I think this one gets missed because it s slightly outside the core. Take the extra 90 seconds and walk down to check these guys out! (But not everyone all at once - I still want to be able to get a table).

What a lovely experience. The food and atmosphere are superb. Great prices for such quality food. The staff are so warm and friendly. Great for date night or with the kids. Kid-friendliness: Great menu for kids that may not like a whole lot of flavour. And great portions for taking home !

The Indian food was very mediocre. The pekora were overcooked, and I sent them back. The replacement was the same. The waitress told me that thats the way the cook prepares them. The waitress was good, that being said it didnt make up for the forgettable meal. I would not return.

Not a good experience. Very disappointed. Recently celebrated a 70th birthday party here. Came for the great food everyone raves about. To our dismay, the food was extremely bland, no spices or aromatic flavors to mention. It had none. Food seemed to be warmed straight out of a can and onto the plate. Ordered 3 different types of Indian flavor. All tasted exactly the same. No care given at all. Definitely much nicer Indian cuisine in Guelph. Service was so so. Our waitress wasnt around much to top up drinks or inquire about our experience. Hundreds of dollars wasted here. Never again.

It was my first time here and I absolutely loved it. The food was good and the right quantity as well. They have great options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians as well. I had the butter chicken rice, it came with a side of Naan but Im unfortunately not a big fan of all things bread. The paintings, the arrangement of the restaurant and our server made it a good experience.

My wife and I went out to Diana s tonight to celebrate our monthaversary. It s the celebration of the first day we went out to dinner at this restaurant years ago. We also had our wedding reception at this restaurant it was wonderful. Tonight was not a surprise when we had fabulous food and a great atmosphere.

Terrible food I ever had.the food was tasteless, the level of salt in both the curries including the Dal(lentils) was negligible. Don t go there if you really want to eat Indian food.

Extremely over priced with insanely small portions. I spent $28 dollars on dinner take out for this small butter chicken that only came with 2 sides of 2 small pieces of naan that were already cut into quarters It wouldn t have been bad if the butter chicken was super tasty or the best butter chicken I ve ever had, but it was subpar. Chicken was very dry and rubbery. The sauce wasn t very flavourful. Overpriced, small portion, not tasty. Disappointed. There are many other much tastier Indian restaurants in Guelph than this - better prices for what you ll get too.

Diana s is a downtown staple and one of my faves growing up , since highschool! Delicious curries, favourite samosas and pakoras with tamarind, salads, souvlaki and best salmon Benny in town. We try to stop in every time we are back in town, visiting from BC.

So back in 2019 I wrote a star review for this same issue. I felt bad, took the review down and just have not returned.. until today. I ordered a Dahl soup. This restaurant used to make an amazing Dahl soup. It used to be homemade and made with love and perfect. This soup was a joke. It was simply gross. Like really gross. A thousand times worse than 2019. Firstly the only flavor I can taste is burnt toast. Yes burnt toast. Clearly potato starch was added or tapioca to thicken the garbage scrapings they have been reheating. My spoon literally could barely penetrate it, Im curious what the texture will be like when the rest cools down.. probably more disgusting. Are you new owners running this place that are just cheap skates that cant serve food with love? Or are you the same owners that just dont care anymore? Last time you told me to call you and let you know how you can make things right. All I can say is just stop serving garbage Dahl soup. Let me know here how you can make things right.

Planned a 75th birthday celebration at Diana Downtown for 29 people. Excellent service and great food. A huge thanks to Sanna and the staff for helping make it such a special and memorable event.

Diana Downtown was gracious enough to host our large group for the appetizer portion of a progressive dinner. Things had to be timed just so, and they knocked it out of the park. The Wyndham Room looked beautiful, and the table was set and ready for us. The Diana appy was the perfect combo for a taste of some of their specialties. We can be demanding with our schedule but we were fed in plenty of time to carry out the tour perfectly. Everyone really loved the Nirvana beverage too. We were treated beautifully by all. Much appreciated, DD, we ll be back!

Tables need tablecloths and fruit flies were annoying. Server was awesome and food was delicious (accept salad) and large portions were appreciated.

Great food and a lot of it. More than I could eat actually, but it was very tasty. The service was very good; the wait staff was very attentive and accommodating. As an added bonus, a band (The Joe Lucchetta Trio) provided great music during the evening. Im not sure if music is always on tap but it should be.

Dianas has a fantastic location downtown and the restaurant itself is a great place for a large group dinner! Well, I have heard about its breakfast menu so decided to go in the morning... They have some special dishes as dish of the day but unfortunately on that day, we couldnt find a good dish on that list... Had ordered paneer tikka masala with naan and mango lassi... Gravy was okay and mango lassi was worst as it didnt taste like mango plus its not even good for throat... Ambience was dark as they have red wall paint but lights are not according to it so it looks dark... Overall experience just go once and try...

I went here many years ago and got the butter chicken and loved it , this time it was not that great, the quality of meat was horrible and the sauce tasted like tomato soup.

Omgosh! Came back for breakfast at Diana and wow! Their chai tea is family recipe and eggs Benedict fantastic! Hollandaise sauce tasty and not too much eggs cooked perfectly potatoes tasty and not greasy! Prices really fair and warm friendly staff. Will definitely be back and bring friends. Saturday and Sunday open 9am.

I never normally leave reviews but this food was so good that it s truly needed. i started off the night with an order of samosas, and let me tell you.. they were the best samosas i ve ever had. i then tried the meat curry with rice & naan and it was absolutely delightful! however i didn t like how there were bones in my curry. the price was pretty good for the area and portion. the customer service was splendid and the servers were super nice, one of the girls complimented my hair. not to mention the atmosphere is beautiful and the art on the walls really set the mood. everything overall was amazing ! thank you for the food.

Ordered pick-up holiday lunch for our department. Everything was not only top quality and mouth watering, what needed to stay crunchy was crunchy etc. Attention to detail and extras is rare these days, but they have it. All staff are interested in building a familiar welcoming vibe. It all comes down to being a community. Why wouldnt you choose to eat here?

Great experience. I love the vibe and there was live music for dinner. We ordered the Diana taster plate including one pakora, one avocado spring roll and one veggie samosa to start and the pakora and samosa were delicious. The Avocado spring roll wasnt really my jam but was good. For dinner we had chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala with rice and Naan and the portions were generous, very flavourful and very satisfying. Enough to take some home with us. The staff and owner were very nice as well. This is my second time and probably my partners 20th time coming here and we will continue to come back. Dietary restrictions: It was clear to me which items had dairy in them, so ordering around dairy restrictions was easy. As far as gluten free they have many items hat are gluten free. Pretty well, if you order any curry dish without the Naan, it would be gluten free.

Diana s location is great, right in the heart of Guelph. They recently hosted our 90th birthday event for a party of ~30 people. They assured everything was set up ahead of time and accommodated our requests perfectly! The staff was very engaged from the moment we walked in. We were able to reserve the semi-private room, which was great considering we had such a large group. The Christmas decor made the room feel festive and warm and every table looked elegant. The starters were a tasty mix of finger foods and the main was delicious. We had a variety of samosas and spring rolls. This was followed by Butter Chicken and a Vegetable Curry with rice, salad and naan. Everything we ate was fresh, delicious, and in abundance. They also allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake for this very special occasion. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere they created was perfect for our party. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility was important due to our event being a 90th birthday party. We were able to get around with a walker without issues and the accesible bathroom located right beside the room was perfect.

Diana Downtown is an awesome restaurant in downtown Guelph! Incredible food! Their dishes have wonderful flavours and their dining area is very spacious yet has a cozy feel to it. On top of all of that, the staff are also very friendly (especially Sanna!). I would highly recommend this restaurant!

The food here is life changing. We came for a birthday and it was so good we came back a week later for a birthday. The waitress (who I believe was the owner daughter) was so kind and helpful. I look forward to coming back once lockdown had ended. Amazing staff and amazing food.

The food was awful. I read reviews and saw the rating before going but seriously, the entire food was tasteless. The customer service was nice, so they received a tip just for that. Wont go back again. I cant reply to the comment below. So i had to edit my comment. First of all the server cant reply as an owner. Lol. Secondly, the quantity of the food was way too less and i do remember leaving half of the stuff on the plate. Not mentioning that the food tasted awful right on your face was to show a little respect and enthusiasm. I am sure you didnt wanted to deal with that. Lol. Next time, you wanna face rudeness ? Let the customers know and they wouldnt mind saying that right on your face. Also, with the reply i got, i wouldnt even bother recommending this place to someone else.

Diana Downtown is one of our favourite restaurants in Downtown Guelph for family and business dining. For breakfast, lunch or dinner, their food is always excellent, whether selecting from the daily curries or a special meal from their extensive menu - lots of choices available. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and accommodating for any special requests, such as spices or substitutions. Some patrons enjoy street view tables, while others prefer a quiet seat nearby. Be sure to check out their latest display of local artwork while you are there.

Along side having the best samosas, butter chicken and souvlaki around - they always have a huge selection of vegan & gluten free options. They really have something for everyone to enjoy - even someone who isnt a fan of east Indian cuisine, nothing disappoints. Cant wait to get back to dine in so I can see all the lovely servers and smiling chefs again!

This is a really pleasant dining experience. The food is served in a timely manner by friendly staff who look out for, and remember from visit to visit...the details of your order. Diana s is one of my very favourite restaurants in Guelph. My family and I have celebrated many special occasions in the restaurant. During Covid, we have ordered food for take-out many times. Yesterday we had their special Mother s Day meal. It came with 4 main dishes as well as side dishes. Everything was delicious, as usual...and we have enough left overs for supper tonight!

Upon reading all the magnificent reviews, our love of Indian cuisine and an effort to support our local small business, we decided to order take-out. We spent $89, and were surprised at the small brown bag of food delivered. We ordered chicken Tikka masala and coriander chicken with sides, pakoras, fries and onion rings. Portion sizes were tiny! We did not receive the pakoras at all or the correct sides. The entrees had no flavor. We couldnt believe it. We are 2 adults and 4 yr old, we had to supplement our own food. Really disappointing experience. Not worth the money we spent at all.

Average taste. Very small portion size for the cost. Would not recommend.

Great food!! Downtown Guelph

We have been enjoying the incredible food at Diana Downtown for years. Never once have we had a bad experience dining in or when getting take out. The customer service you receive is top notch and the food never disappoints! Truly our favourite butter chicken - we highly recommend them to everyone we know! We just had it a few days ago and we are already having cravings and wanting more! Thank you to the whole team for being amazing humans!

But rest everything was bad experience waste of money Based on the reviews I preferred this restaurant and ordered a Thali in the description of Curry, the menu mentioned of customers choice but while ordering via app, no confirmation call was received neither during the visit to restaurants. Upon arriving at restaurant the food was packed to take away. So disappointing additionally, the food was tasteless, the level of salt in both the curries including the Dal(lentils) was negligible. I felt might be restaurant chef is consious for taste of salt but while eating the lentil the spice level was extremely hot . Very bad experience. Even I wrote in the order instruction its my first order despite that no attention to customer. Seems there are working on old reviews but with New staff... Bad experience I will never buy from here waste of money and time. Additionally, they dont have good quality of rice, no basmati rice.

I was skeptical to try this place out because of its reviews and was worried about thire high prices and small portions. When I picked up my food its was substantially more expensive then I thought it was going to be plus the proportions where shockingly small. For a 30 dollar meal youd think theyd give you more then just one soggy piece of nan bread, wouldnt recommend.

Amazing food! This restaurant has the best Indian food in Guelph! The customer service is great and everyone working is very friendly! Good prices and deals! Will definitely visit again for butter chicken!

We normally eat at Diana Downtown whenever we are in Guelph. We have never been disappointed. Food has always been on time and staff has been friendly and courteous. Keep up the good work.

I always love Dianas and its my go to for luncheons. I was here for the first time since dining opened up and the service was wonderful and attentive, the food was delicious as always and the portion sizes are huge! I can never eat my full lunch and bring half home for dinner. I could honestly eat here everyday!

3rd Sunday in a row, Staff are great food is excellent and priced very well. Our new go to spot for breakfast,...better then all the other Breakfast establishments downtown hands down..trust me try it you wont be disappointed ...

My sister ate off the Indian menu and enjoyed her meal and I had a vegetarian burger and it was delicious. Service was prompt and polite, despite the adverse conditions of serving outside in their temporary patio.

As per the ratings here, I thought of trying to order food in this restaurant. Unfortunately, I have encountered many problems. First of all, all the curries that I had ordered were extremely bland and were not spicy at all as most Indian dishes should be. However, I also found out there were only 3 pieces of Scallops in the curry. Anyway, the packaging was neat and the food was warm. I might not be able to dine here, if these issues continue to exist. Thanks.

Really enjoyed the food here. Choosing a type of curry, protein and sides is a unique approach I wasnt sure of but turned out great. Their house salad is an excellent surprise, and the service was wonderful. Would go again.

Wow. This place is amazing. Weve actually only ordered take out, which, at other places, usually isnt as good as dining in, but their food still blows me away. The Korma is fantastic!

I really hate to give bad reviews but people need to know that this is the worst tikka masala I have ever had. It tastes like tomato soup with freaking broccoli in it. I wont go be going back. The staff is very nice but their food is not, unfortunately

The best restaurant in Guelph. Delicious food, amazing staff, and fantastic atmosphere. We have been coming here for years, our favourite is the Sunday brunch. Best eggs Benedict, and make sure to have the mixed green salad with house dressing, and homemade chai tea. The burgers are amazing, especially the lamb burger, with onion rings. The curries are all good as well. Hard to decide as everything on the menu is homemade and delicious. We were a little nervous now that the patio is closed but the entire staff is following all COVID protocols and we felt very safe. 100% recommend !!!

Good food and EXCELLENT service

We have been coming here for over 25 years and the food here is always wonderful and its a nice quiet atmosphere with excellent service Plus you have either Western food or delicious East Indian dishes. We love the staff as well, always so receptive and engaged. Dianas is a place to go when you want great consistent quality, good food and a calm place to chat and enjoy life! We love this place so much that we have come here for 8 weeks straight, every Wednesday, before music lessons!

Ive been to Diana loads of times, it was one of my favorite joints downtown at one point. But I dont know, maybe Ive been spoiled by other Indian restaurants but we just got the veggie thali for the first time in a while and it was deeply underwhelming. Looked like curry, tasted like... not much. At least the naan was really good, but I wish wed just ordered Kirtada again

Since the start of the pandemic, my organization has been using Dianas to cater working lunches, always to great success. Dianas has become a staple and is always requested for their delicious food, and generous portions. They offer something for everyone, and have been incredibly flexible and responsive to accommodate dietary restrictions. Its best to order directly from their website since they have more options there, and is a better way to support a local business instead of using large, 3rd party delivery site. Whenever Ive misplaced a receipt, they kindly and immediately send a digital copy, and I cannot stress how amazing their customer service is.

Love this place. Great food and great staff. Just recently discovered lunch which was also top notch.

Went here last week and it was so disappointing. There were only 2 tables including us but the food took 40+ minutes to arrive, the naan was clearly storebought and heated up, there were all of 3 chunks of paneer in my palak paneer, my request to make my meal spicy was ignored, server forgot to bring napkins and then when she finally came back to check on us asked me why I didnt just flag her down to tell her my food wasnt spicy when she was nowhere to be seen. When the bill came we wouldve been charged an extra $9 for a cocktail we didnt order if I hadnt noticed it. Overall, way more expensive for such poor quality food and service.

I just came back from eating at Diana Downtown and as always I did not leave disappointed. The Chicken Tikka was incredible and full of flavour and it paired wonderfully with my katchumber salad. Diana Downtown is hands down the home of the highest quality indian food in Guelph, I always leave satisfied and looking forward to my next visit. Not to mention the service is quick and incredible, I had difficulty deciding between an order of vegetable samosas or avocado spring rolls so the lovely waitress told me not worry shed ask the kitchen to make a half a serving of both so I didnt have to decide between the two. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Diana Downtown has been mine and my familys go to restaurant to order food from for any birthday or special occasion. The food always comes warm and has never let us down. We always get their butter chicken but have tried a few other meals as well and have not been let down ! We love their food and whenever we eat in the staff is very nice !

We just ate here and to just summarize: Ambiance and atmosphere is great! When it comes to food, we got the Thali special for $12.99 and chicken samosas for appetizers(2for$5).Service was good, our servers name was Jeff and he was very helpful in the selections. When it comes to their food, as an Indian and Punjabi, the flavours are bland, naans are not fresh(store bought and not out of a Tandoor),they missed the mark for authentic Indian flavours. The food is fresh but westernized. Aloo Gobi was just a mash, more of a stew and not a classic sabji/curry. Beef Kofta was fresh but definitely lacked the flavours. Atmosphere 9/10 Service 9/10 Food 3/10

I ordered a butter chicken with rice and nan bread . It was he cinciy(small) little serving. I cant believe I gave the server the extra change I have never spent that much to get such a small amount. Never get Indian food there again.
