Best food and staff.

Asked for a normal chicken curry but I m pretty sure I got the chicken vindaloo instead cause the curry was wayy too tangy ,which I m not a fan of at all , disappointed in the delivery of food . Please give customers what they specifically order , if you don t have it , please let them know ! naan was really nice though and person who helped was really nice and sweet .

The owner was absolutely amazing! The food was fresh and delicious. I ate Daal Makhni and Kadahi Paneer. I cant wait to come back and try more dishes. Keep up the great work!

Absolutely delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by this small little restaurant. Visited Guelph from the east end of the GTA to visit my son in university. Instead of a traditional Thanksgiving, my friends and I had a curry night. The saffron curry is exceptional. We had nine different dishes and they were all excellent. The catering was super. The food was prepared on time and nice and hot. Couldn t ask for anything better.

My husband and I genuinely appreciate Saffron restaurant. The menu is excellent . It provides ample gluten free choices for my hubby. The naan is the best I have tasted. Frequently, we take friends visiting from out of town. They all want to take the restaurant home with them to their towns. The food is excellent. The menu provides great choices. The staff are friendly and ever so accommodating to us. The ambient sounds are of happy laughter and conversations. We simply love this restaurant and we recommend it highly. It gives Guelph a culinary glow. Dietary restrictions: Excellent for gluten free options. Parking: Lots of parking. The entire beer store parking lot.

Bro Please don t call biryani that you serve as biryani. I m very sorry but it tasted like tomato rice with 4 chicken pieces. I m from Hyderabad and more than anything in this world, the biryani is close to my heart and it s an emotion for hyderbadi people. First and last order yesterday for early dinner. Two dishes ordered. One vegetarian. Frozen peas, carrots, corn and green beans in a sea of sauce. Plain, bland and unimpressed. Chicken dish, 7 cubes of chicken in sea of sauce. Rice was fine is the best I can say. Naan was a thin as paper and tasteless. Will not return. Miss the consistency and wonderful flavors of previous owners Bombay Kitchen.

I am sad writing this cause usually i enjoy their food. But todays chicken was disappointing. Does the chicken look like it was out of a tandoor? I spent half an hour on a hungry stomach to cook it in my oven. It wasnt tandoor charred, and looked like it was simply dipped in marinade and handed over. Food

I ve been ordering takeout from the restaurant. From the inside, restaurant is small & beautiful. They provide consistent taste. They do provide complimentary naan/rice options which is great. However, there is always something to improve. As they use a bit extra oil/butter/cream, and samosa was below average.

I came here for lunch. I had the butter chicken lunch special. All of the dishes were delicious and the portions were generous for the price. The service was also good. The server was attentive and the chef also came out to check on everyones food. Definitely recommend.

We have been to Saffron several times now, and we just love it. The food is reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. We have loved every single thing we have ordered there, and they can adjust the spice/heat level to your liking. A couple of months ago, I brought a huge order of Saffron food to my book club, and it was such a hit that there was nothing left at the end of the night! The staff is friendly and eager to make your experience exceptional. And the restaurant keeps improving; they have upgraded the light fixtures so that the room now radiates a sense of cozy warmth. A wonderful gem in Guelph.

Its a little hole in the wall restaurant and thats ok. The mango chicken, beef curry, rice and naan bread was fantastic and the prices are reasonable considering todays crazy economy. The service was also very good and friendly. The only suggestion I have is to improve the cleanliness of the washroom.

Worth a visit, first time to visit Saffron, honestly did not know it existed. Food was excellent overall, really liked the lamb Karahi, naan, tandoori items and chicken biryani. Would not really order the chicken madras, average. Pleasant service and the chef came out to see if we were happy with the meal. Halal meats available which was great, would absolutely go back. They do a lunch thali which seems like great value, will try that next time. Clean washrooms and lots of parking. V simple decor, but worth going for the food.

Original review: Have been to Saffron in Cambridge and loved the food there. Saffron in Guelph doesn t disappoint! Generous portions of very well prepared and delicious dishes. We went for mild/moderate spice level and should have gone up but I like things spicy, but still a great spice level as was, flavours on point. Will go again maybe next time to eat in so I can give a full review. There are very good Indian restaurants in the south and west end of Guelph. Finally we have one closer to the downtown. Pakora - exceptional. Beef samosas - excellent. Chicken jalfrezi - very good. Karihi Gosht - order again and again. Naan was good not greasy.

My new go-to Indian restaurant in town. The food is authentic and amazing! Tikka Masala, Biryani and Butter Chicken are so good that I havent been able to stray from ordering them (4 times now). While other restaurants in town often charge extra for rice (sometimes $5), Saffron includes it with a very affordable price. I wont be ordering from anywhere else!

I have visited this place multiple times after Friday prayer. The food is tasty with good portion and easy on the pocket. They have the spice levels to pick for each dish. I will recommend you to try their lunch thali its some $12 (as of today) comes with rice, flat bread, 2 curries to choose from (veg or non veg) enough for 1 person, I usually take the left over home for my next meal. Their lunch thali at this price is only between 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Secondly try thier veg samosa its of the best I had.

The most important thing is the food, and it was excellent! We ordered Tandoori chicken and a lunch special, which was aloo gobi, dal, rice, a bit of salad and a papadam. The aloo gobi might be the best I have ever tasted. It was rich (with ghee I suppose); the spice mixture was deep and complex; and the cauliflower and potatoes were perfectly cooked. The sauce did not overwhelm the taste of the vegetables. The chicken was served with an outstanding green raita. Even my cup of tea was perfect. The atmosphere was the only glitch. Lights are much too bright. And the restaurant was drafty.

Best Naan we have had in a while, lightly crispy and soft, not too thick. Atmosphere simple and clean, price is affordable. Will go again and will try the take out.

I oredered from here for the first time. I ordered butter chicken and it was great. Could have used a little more heat but that was my fault. The pricing was good. My only issue but not a complaint was the pieces of chicken which there was plenty of were to big. I try not to use cutlery when eating this type of food but i had to use a knife to cut them up. My suggestion would be to still give the quantity but cut them smaller. All in all loved it. It is my mew place when in the mood. Highly recommend it.

Food is fantastic. Service is lovely. But the dine-in atmosphere it feels less cosy than McDonalds. And they don t have a liquor license. It is clear their main business is take-out and perhaps a quick lunch special eat-in. If you want a great dinner - order their take-out.

I missed good Indian food on Municipal Street and IT IS BACK (-: Hot curries: vindaloo was hot & tasty, madras was not as hot as expected but still good. Medium curries: Lamb saag is just as irresistible as Bombay Cafes was (oh, that delicious green slime...) but isnt the same as BCs. House curry was fine. Weve had bad biriyani at other places & I am happy to report they serve really good biriyani at Saffron. Mild curries: Ive never had better korma than Saffrons. I love how they cook the naan... a bit crispy on the bottom, soft & bubbly on the top. I preferred the veggie samosas over the beef ones but you do you. Pakoras were pretty good.

We loved the Bombay Cafe, which was in this location for decades, and we were sad when it closed last year. The Saffron Restaurant opened in that location a few weeks ago, so we decided to try it last night. It s great! We both had a thali, which provided generous portions of delicious food including a little dessert (gulab jamin) in the middle of the plate. Their naan is some of the best we ve ever had! The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave the atmosphere a 4 is that the ambiance is pretty stark perfectly fine but not really cozy or refined. Lots of takeout business coming and going in a pretty small space. Other than that tiny thing, I highly recommend this place!

I recently tried the Karahi Paneer lunch special at this restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! The flavors were authentic, and the paneer was perfectly cooked, making it a truly satisfying meal. The portion size was generous, and it was a great value for money. This is our favourite Indian restaurant in town by FAR!!! The staff is so lovely and the food is amazing. The paneer makhni is to die for!!!! Vegetarian options: Many different paneer and vegetable only dishes.

Absolutely the best Indian food we ve had in a long time! The flavours of everything was far beyond any other local spot; perfect portions, decent prices, and even when ordering delivery the food arrives piping hot! We have recommended to our friends to try as well. This is now our go-to Indian spot and the only Indian we ll order going forward.

New to Guelph, My first experience at Saffron was excellent. I ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka, and garlic butter naans, everything was perfectly cooked, and we re very impressed with quality and portions, we will be back again.

Perfect taste and service

The meal was so delicious and well presented. The daal makhani was so tasty with garlic naan. My husband had the tandoori chicken and he said it was really Moist and perfect. Recommends to have it with chutney. Restaurant was really amazing.

We ordered take out and had Karahi Paneer, Daal Makhani, Naan and Tandoori Chicken. What a fabulous meal and everything tasted amazing. Next time we will visit the restaurant and enjoy the meal again.

Great food good prices a must try

Have ordered take out twice - great both times! 20$ for a curry and naan. I have ordered the lamb madras and a shrimp madras and both were great! The shrimp was a bit overcooked but still good. Will order again! Also agree with other reviews that they should adjust lighting/atmosphere for dine in!

We ordered from here for the first time on Sunday and we ll order again! We ordered for pick up and it was ready when they said it would be. Order was correct, hot and very good! We had butter chicken, chicken korma and chicken vindaloo with rice and naan. Give Saffron a call!
