Sugo on Surrey in Guelph

Enjoyed an evening dinner with friends. Nice atmosphere. Great service.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Sugo, both in terms of the food and the service. We visited to celebrate a friend s birthday and let our waitress know when we arrived, but the evening did not meet our expectations. We ordered several appetizers, and after waiting for over an hour without any food, we asked about the status of our order. Moments later, all of the appetizers were brought out at once. It was clear that two of them had been sitting for quite some time. The octopus, in particular, was cold and so tough it was almost impossible to cut. Unfortunately, this made it inedible for our table. When we shared this feedback with the staff, there was no apology, and we had to ask for the items to be removed from the bill. For the remainder of the meal, no one checked on us, and no effort was made to make up for the situation whether by offering additional food, an apology, or even acknowledging the birthday we were celebrating. While the food was disappointing, it was the lack of service and hospitality that left the strongest impression. I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, and I don t plan on returning.

Great spot, great service and great food!

It was our first time trying this place. We went out for my friends birthday. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. Unfortunately, there were some issues. We had a reservation but still ended up waiting about 20 minutes for a table. There isnt really anywhere to wait inside aside from the entrance, which was really tiny and claustrophobic. It was packed with people and we literally had to hug the walls just so people could get in and out of the main doors. Literally elbow to elbow. At one point, someone with crutches came in and they had no where they could sit while they waited. Paired with how crowded it was, they had to squeeze in and stand awkwardly with their crutches. I felt really bad for them. Once we got seated, things were going well though. The server was really nice. We asked the server in private if they did anything for birthdays so we could surprise our friend, and they said yes. They brought out a birthday dessert for my friend but imagine our surprise when they charged her for it. One of us ended up asking to put it on another one of our bills so our friend didnt have to pay nearly $12 for a slice of cheesecake on her birthday. Which she said didnt really taste all that great in the end. So that kinda soured our opinion of the place. Charging for a birthday dessert felt kinda cheap, they should clarify it isnt free. Or at the very least, dont put the charge on the birthday guests bill when someone else requested it. Kinda defeats the entire purpose of a birthday dessert. Considering how expensive the place is, youd think they wouldnt charge for it. Either way, I suggest you avoid this place on weekends. Even with a reservation, youre going to end up waiting a while. I recommend maybe going during the week when its a little quieter. Just to clarify, I had no issue with the servers themselves, I know theyre just doing their jobs. They were very nice. My critiques are things that are outside of their control, and are more-so aimed towards things the owners of the establishment should consider. Edit: I forgot to mention it was snowing/raining that night. The walkway was frozen and very slippery on our way out, so they should also consider salting the entrance during the winter months. The walkway was slightly sloped, so we had to awkwardly penguin walk/slide down it to avoid slipping.

The food is good BUT to be welcomed with you ve got 90 minutes as this table is booked is not the beginning of a relaxing evening when a reservation was made weeks ago! If this were a one off but this has happened three out of four times we have dined here!! It s close to where we live but now we re looking for a more welcoming place for our monthly dinner out.

I had dinner here in late November 2024 as a family of four and had a great experience. The Fall menu highlighted the seasonal harvest and we fully enjoyed each pasta and pizza we had. Our server quickly answered questions and had advice when needed,

Wow! You know when you go out to dinner and you walk away knowing that you ll remember it for a long, long time?! That s how it feels to eat at Sugo on Surrey. What a sumptuous culinary experience. The fall menu is a colourful collection of vivid flavours. We enjoyed the chicken supreme, the salmon and beet risotto, the agnolotti and the bucatini bolognese. All were rich and deeply flavourful. Ben, our server, was attentive and friendly and the space is cozy and warm. We sat in the bar area which is a bit smaller than the restaurant space reservations are a must and there was an overly loud table but once they left all was well. We finished the night with the perfect brownie and fresh gelato. What a great night! We will be back for sure! Highly recommend if you are in or around Guelph.

Incredible food and service

10/10 service and atmosphere. My partner and I both ordered a pasta dish where the meat and flavours were great, but both pastas were hard and chewy. The soup special and calamari were delicious. Food : 3/5

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sugo on Surrey for date night with my boyfriend, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. As someone with specific food restrictions, finding a restaurant that genuinely accommodates dietary needs can be a challenge. However, Sugo exceeded all our expectations in every possible way. I emailed Sugo prior to reserving to ask about my specific restrictions. Eric, the owner, replied to my email personally to notify that his staff would be more than willing to accommodate us. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. We preferred to sit at the high tables in the bar section, it was intimate and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. We both ordered the Beef Ribeye which was customized perfectly to fit our needs. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and it was evident that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used. The attention to detail in our meal, combined with the impeccable service, made the experience truly special. I also was impressed with the sparkling water bottle service! As a non alcohol drinker this was amazing for me! My boyfriend was impressed with their draught beer selection, all local breweries which he appreciates. He loves to support local, non globalist brewing companies. If you have food restrictions or are simply looking for a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend Sugo. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a genuine willingness to accommodate makes it a true gem. Sugo is one of the only restaurants I will visit while I am visiting Ontario for the summer. Thank you for making our date night amazing!

Had an amazing experience with my daughter last month. This place has a great warm, intimate atmosphere to it and WOW the food is next level. We had the bar tender as our server and his mixed drinks were all so yummy and well balanced. Whatever food you order I am certain you will not be disappointed... and do yourself and get the Affogato for dessert!

Hey Alex, I just wanted to let you know that my full meal last night was outrageously good. Best meal that I ve ever had at Sugo hands down! The Caprese salad was one of the best if not the best Caprese salads I ve ever had and I ve had many. For my main I had the Pork Chop (cooked to perfection) which was one of the best meals I ve ever had in a restaurant hands down! The warm potato salad was absolutely spectacular. Well done my friend, well done! Please pass my gratitude on to the kitchen staff and chef.

I would say this was the best food and service we ve had in a long time. The bartender provided great service.

The food was exceptional, the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The atmosphere and decor was friendly and welcoming. We had a memorable dining experience and would like to give it more than five stars.

We went to Sugo to celebrate a family members birthday. The food was incredible. Our table shared a few appetizers, and they were all delicious. Our mains were so tasty. We shared the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was so good and rich. It was a perfect shareable dessert. The space is beautiful, the bathrooms clean, and the servers were friendly and attentive. I would absolutely go back for another occasion.

First time at this place yesterday and it instantly became my favourite restaurant in town! Everything perfect, you can t go wrong with anything you order from their menu. Delicious authentic italian food. Katie & Laura went above and beyond providing us with a 5 star service! I m so impressed and glad I found this place.

Amazing food and ambiance.

Worst Gluten free pasta EVER, shocking that they want $45 for such poor seafood linguine. Apparently they were trying a new GF dough recipe, have to wonder if the chef actually tastes his own food. Ended up eating a Caprese salad for dinner, I wouldnt trust this place for anything gluten-free. They offered to comp my meal, but they didnt take it off the bill. Took another 10 minutes to get it right. Really slow service, parking is terrible. Note, the food my family had was actually pretty good. Maybe worth taking a chance on this place if you dont have food allergies, and you have like 2 hours for dinner.

A nice place. Atmosphere is great, but with every dish, there was something off: the bruschetta was too soggy, bitter and the bread fell apart. Risotto was inedible, the lamb was chewy due to the fat, the gnocchi was not right and 12h later my stomach still hurts from the chicken. The food came late. That should have been a strong indicator. Price/quality ratio is not appropriate.

Beautiful interiors and great staff! Unfortunately the flavour of the food did not match the wonderful interior and friendly, attentive service. My friends and I ordered two pasta dishes and a pizza. While I can t speak for their dishes, one of my friends commented that the Bee s Knees drink special tasted like Fresca soda. I ordered the veal parm special (came on top of linguine tossed in tomato sauce) and was unfortunately disappointed by the lack of flavour in both the veal and linguine. Although the tomatoes in the sauce tasted fresh, the sauce lacked flavour overall - no garlic, basil, salt, or pepper was detected. The crispiness on the veal parm was great but once again, lacked any noticeable flavour. I believe that Sugo has the potential to provide fresh, creative, and flavourful Italian dishes in the city. I look forward to seeing the creative direction Sugo takes in the future!

The staff here truly care about their guests. They were attentive, courteous, and polite. Our waiter Spencer was a delight.The food was absolutely delicious, from our appetizers to our desserts. Looking forward to my next visit.

Was lucky enough to get to go to Sugo for my Birthday Dinner, cocktails by Spencer were amazing, our server Ben was great! I highly recommend the Banoffee Cheesecake, oh and the Calamari! Everything was delicious!

Dinner was just okay.

First time going and went for a post-graduation dinner with family. We made a reservation and were greeted upon arrival by our server. Had a few slip ups on ordering (our fault, not our servers!) but they were corrected so quickly which we appreciated so much! The food was divine, so fresh and so tasty. We got the ricotta gnocchi, butternut squash ravioli, and the chicken supreme, all 10/10! Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and a good time. Thank you to our server Spencer for his exceptional service and enthusiasm!

Very nice and well-kept place, excellent Italian cuisine from appetizers (I recommend the very well-stocked cutting board) to desserts. The pasta is homemade, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Had one of the best meals I have ever eaten this evening. If you have never been to Sugo On Surrey then you are missing out. The food is colourful, fresh and flavourful. Something for every tastebud with an Italian flair. Casual upscale dining at its best! And the staff are knowledgeable and experienced at what they do. Owner Alex Tami has done an amazing job of creating a culinary experience that tops them all in the city of Guelph! Oh, and did I mention that the Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for???? Make a reservation. You won t be disappointed!!! Vegetarian options: If you are vegetarian you can t go wrong here. My husband and I love meat but ended up with vegetarian food from start to finish and loved every bite. Dietary restrictions: We also asked about allergies because we have a daughter with a severe shellfish allergy. Alex assured us that they take allergies very seriously at Sugo.

Upon planning our elopement I went on Facebook to get some recommendations for a restaurant to deliver our wedding day meal to our b&b room. The consensus was Sugo on Surrey. My new husband and I were not disappointed! I contacted Alex several times via email regarding the menu and our options and he was incredibly helpful. He hand-delivered our meal to us as planned and on time and the food was incredible! My husband loves a good steak and is quite picky but easily gave his ribeye a 10/10 adding that it was cooked perfectly, and the flavour was amazing given it wasnt over-seasoned. I ordered the seafood linguine and it was perfecto! The citrus sauce was delectable and the seafood cooked to perfection. And the desserts... The tiramisu melted in our mouths and the brownie was delicious. Overall, we give an easy 10/10 for our meal and service, which is usually challenging to accomplish with a delivered meal. We cant wait to visit in person sooner than later.

We had to book a reservation with a credit card that would be charged 20$/pp but even with an email confirmation on arrival they had no record of our reservation . Booked months in advance for Mother s Day. Unsatisfying portions, understaffed service, the waiter brought us chamomile and tried to convince us it was orange pekoe even when the new tea came the tag, bag, and colour of tea were different. Disappointed that there wasn t a single savoury option without eggs but that was my fault for not checking the menu more carefully.

Overall really great apps, but mains fell short of the mark. We went with crab dip and calamari for apps - both blew us out of the water! Perfect balance of flavours for both, crab dip was such a generous portion and the breadsticks were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the right amount of parm dusting - it s everything I ever wanted and more. We were told calamari was a staple and we understood why - not your typical calamari, this had a lovely tomato based sauce and still retained a decent crunch, we could eat this all day. Now for the mains, the smoked salmon pizza was quite good, however it was a tad dry (needed more sauce), and more capers for the acidic bite would have been nice. The butternut squash ravioli you should steer clear of that it made me question the whole pasta menu. The ravioli pasta shell was sooo thick, and the cook was quite far under al dente There was also a lack of salt in every component - the pasta was clearly not cooked in water that was salted enough, the filling was lacking flavour, the cream topping with the pesto mixed into a very unappetizing colour and just weighed the dish down to eternity. The ravioli was in desperate need of an acid!! Such a sore disappointment, I really wanted to love it after seeing all the reviews Not sure if we will return maybe just for a couple apps and exploring the pizza side of things

We found this place following Chef James from his previous restaurant in Oakville to Sugo. Its a bit of a hike for us coming from Mississauga but we are never disappointed. Great food in a non pretentious atmosphere with great service. We recently celebrated a birthday here with 8 guests and everyone loved the food. We practically had the menu on our table and it did not disappoint. If you are thinking of trying this place .... DO IT.

We had a great first experience at Sugo. The food was delicious and great value. The crab dip appetizer was a standout as well as the Branzino dish. Perfect spot for a date or to get some good food with friends before checking out downtown. Bartenders service was spot on and he made awesome cocktails as well.

Really nice ambiance at the bar. Really good daily special with slow roasted pork belly with beet risotto with a side of octopus. Will be coming back!

A hidden gem in Guelph. Its a must-visit restaurant, we ordered a date night package which was phenomenal. Highly recommended.

Returning for a second time after a first experience that didn t go so well. Not only did Alex handle the situation professionally and honestly he made sure our second time back was above excellent. The food was amazing and the service was top notch, I was super impressed with all the options on the menu. The pasta was so great and full of delicious flavours. We also ordered pizza that was cooked perfectly. The crust was the best we ever tried. Thank you to the whole team at Sugo for being such great hosts, we can t wait to come back and see you guys again!

The good: Marissa provided top notch service from start to finish. The food was reasonably good, especially Nonna s meatballs and the calamari. The bad: The smell of air freshener was so strong it was very hard to enjoy our food, and if we weren t with another couple we would have left. Marissa told us that the air freshener in the washroom had recently been changed and the smell was from that. We were able to move one table further away from the washroom, but the smell was still overwhelming. I d suggest removing the air freshener in the washrooms altogether. No room needs that much scent and in a restaurant, you want to be able to smell, taste and enjoy your food.

One word: quality. Sugo offers quality service, quality food, and an overall a beautiful atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available !!!

My husband and I enjoyed his birthday dinner here tonight. Marissa our server was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was great for a date night and the food was delicious, so flavourful! (Calamari, Arincini, Seafood Linguine and Butternut squash Ravioli). Thank you for a terrific evening and wonderful meal.

Very disappointed at the overall experience. One young lady serving a party of 22 poor. Ceaser salad was brown mushy and the dressing had no taste. Food was OK but could have been warmer And finally a good Italian restaurant always has bread on the table to start nothing here.My advice go to East Side Mario half the price for better food.

Really good food. We had crab arenchinni, ravioli and cod. Each dish was amazing. The espresso could have been stronger though. Really good service. Marissa was attending to us and she was very helpful and super fast.

OK, best calamari appetizer we have EVER had...and weve tried them all. Portion was good....but we could have ordered another one, it was so good. I never get pasta at restaurants (because restaurants can often get pasta dishes wrong)but the wife got pasta and, I have to admit, it was absolutely amazing. I got the beef and it was unbelievably good, and the vegetables that came with it were equally great. We will be back soon!

Sugo on Surrey was a nice restaurant. The staff was friendly and their service was great. Wasnt crazy about their Calamari but the lobster gnocchi was amazing. Would recommend this place for a nice romantic dinner.

Was there with work colleagues for a holiday dinner. Terrific food, atmosphere and service. Beautiful stone walls and local art on the walls. Everyone at the table loved their food. I shared bruschetta and had butternut squash ravioli. Both delicious. Others at my table raved. No complaints! Parking: Not a lot of spots out back but street parking available.

We called in 20 minutes before arriving. They were kind and accommodating. We were seated on the bar side, they were booked in the main dining. The space is beautiful, the bar area included. Incredible ambiance. Outstanding service. We had the Crab Arancini, just wow. Perfect amount of batter, crisp and flavour, the sauce was amazing, it was fresh and had a beautiful kick to it. I can truly say it s the best Arancini I ve ever had. The special sounded amazing but we weren t hungry, we were just coming in to grab a drink. Overall amazing experience. We have a reservation booked for dinner this week. Guelph really needed this place. Highly recommend.

Made a reservation for 10 people to celebrate my partners birthday. Our server Taya was incredible and the food was fantastic. Cocktails and dessert were also very nice. This place is pricey but worth it for the quality of both the service and menu. We will certainly be back for other special events!

Another amazing meal at Sugo on Surrey. I ask you when was the last time you were served white wine in a proper white wine glass. The attention to detail makes Sugo the best of the best in Guelph. Flowers on each table, knowledgeable servers and first class kitchen!

We had a lovely dinner again this visit. A group of 9 of us (we booked ahead) shared charcuterie and cocktails, then tasty dinner entrées with wine, and the dessert menu is solid too. Rave reviews from all around the table, and excellent service! Vegetarian options: Pizzas and pastas offer flexible veggie options.

Very cozy restaurant and excellent food! We had the pork belly, the pistacchio pizza and the rigatoni with shrimps. Everything was delicious, we will definitely be back!

Not quite sure how Sugo is highly rated. The first experience I had was ok, that I thought I d give it a try again. I was extremely disappointed with that visit, I don t think I d come again. Ordered app, main, and dessert and all of it missed it was a roller coaster - app lacked flavour, main was TOO salty, then one of many factors that sealed the deal was the sticky toffee pudding still having a date pit in it. Yes, it could have been communicated to our server, but that s not her fault and just when we thought the next course could maybe win, it didn t.

Parking: Some limited parking on the corner, can also park on the street.

Such a great place to go. Serving sizes are big for Italian.

This is from December 3/22 Have no clue how the ratings are so high? Maybe was just a one off the night my party and I attended. Made reservations for 6 pm and was told we needed to be out by 730. Definitely not a problem. Apps came out fast but main course came out in 45 minutes. Waitress was avoiding as she could see us getting frustrated. We started with the bruschetta and calamari. Calamari was good but nothing to rave about. Bruschetta pizza was soggy and seemed like the tomatoes had been cooked. Why?? Main course Butternut squash ravioli with supposedly red pepper sauce and to many components. Seafood linguine with garlic cream sauce. No nos are definitely in this dish (cream and parmesan). Butter poached cod with over cooked vegetables was edible. Lamb shank with rosemary and sage potatoes and over cooked rapini. Beef short ribs with farmed mushroom marsala sauce, polenta cake (not creamy as it solidified from sitting to long) and overcooked rapini. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are marked on the menu.

It was amazing experience, first time coming to Sugo on Surrey. Marissa took care of us. The portions were large. Highly recommend the lamb, seafood linguine and the bruschetta.

We were seated at the bar because we hadn t reserved early enough and that turned out to be a great experience. It was sun watching the bartender make the various custom drinks on offer there, especially the Smokey Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour which created a lovely charred woodsmoke aroma around the bar.

Delicious food! The design of this restaurant is like a home. It s very intimate and great for special occasions. Staff were very friendly too! We had a lovely time!

We spent our Valentine s Day at this restaurant and what I can say is that the customer service is lovely. The ambience is also really nice giving you a homey feel due to the layout of the restaurant. The food was also prepared well. It came out to 150 for our 2 drinks, entree and 2 mains.

All my experience was so so great thanks to the host Andrée, she advised me for the wine (very good choice), I hesitated between 2 dishes and she guided me as it should. So everything is wonderful: the place, the decoration, the dishes (fresh and good quality products), the drinks and the staff. Without hesitation you can go there everything is good

The ambience is lovely and the food is exceptional. I definitely hope to be back on another special occasion to celebrate. we had the fried boccocini appetizer, the pizza Carne, and Tuscan chicken rigatoni. All were excellent, and the rigatoni in particular was amazing! for dessert we enjoyed lemon sobertto, which is large enough to share. The prosecco mojitos are so good too. highly recommend trying this place out !

Excellent Food, and even Better Service !!!

We enjoyed the Mediterranean pizza, although only a medium size and a bit pricey but tasty! Kid-friendliness: I only visited the bar/front room and they only had bar stool backed type tall seating.

Good place for a date night, but the bottom floor can get quite loud given the smaller space. Definitely try the fried bocconcini, but you can skip out on the arancini as it lacked texture and taste. The mocktails are great as was the new specialty drink. The tomato sauce for the Tuscan chicken rigatoni was a bit too tart, making the whole dish a bit too salty. Overall, intimate atmosphere with some stand outs on the menu!

Pearl and I were totally satisfied with our dining experience. I had the cod. It was cooked perfect.... medium rare. Alex made us feel at home. Ben was our server... Very professional.

Summer 2023 update. Still one of the best experiences in Guelph. Great atmosphere, consistently good food and the staff are still lovely. Would highly recommend their pizzas. -- 2019 - Loved dinner here! The food is good, the atmosphere comfortable and staff friendly. Vegetarian options: Summer 2023 menu has great vegetarian options! Recommend the mushroom pizza. Not many vegan options.

The best place to eat in Guelph hands down. Looking for an authentic, fresh, fine casual restaurant with genuine service staff and proper meal portions? This is your spot! (Let s not forget the wine list and cocktails!) Anytime I ever bring my friends here to eat they re always floored. A few skips from the core of downtown so you re not bombarded with heavy downtown noise on the patio. Also, contrary to the abusive review made by the ex employee below I can verify that Alex and his team provide a safe and inclusive place to work. Anyone who tries to claim otherwise was probably (in my opinion) held to a high standard and couldn t reach it. You can tell by the service and quality of food sugo doesn t mess around with or support sub-par anything! It s only the best for Sugos guests. I came in for a quick drink before meeting my friends at an other bar in Guelph. But the bartender Laura was very friendly and very quick to answer any questions. I convince my couple friends to come in and eat here instead. Amazing food, great little Italian place . We also had the honour to meet the owner, we was so friendly and we have a great conversation, very refreshing to see an owner make his rounds and talk to his guests! We will be back!

I spent 3 years working here, only leaving because my wedding photography business picked up. I absolutely loved every aspect of this job - the food was phenomenal and I never left hungry. The staff were some of my closest friends, and everyone supported eachother so well, which can be hard to find in a restaurant job. The guests were regulars, always happy to see us. The owner, Alex, is a man with a big heart. If you ve been considering visiting here, do it!! You ll be pleasantly surprised how much it feels like you re dining at home. Oh, and try a cocktail, they are delicious.

What a fantastic dining experience! The ricotta gnocchi paired with wild mushrooms was absolutely delightful, boasting a rich and creamy texture. The gnocchi itself was skillfully crafted in-house, elevating the dish even further. The strawberry rhubarb sour with its frothy egg white foam was the ideal choice for our cozy evening on the intimate patio. We concluded our meal by indulging in a heavenly tiramisu. Ben, our exceptional waiter, provided outstanding service throughout the entire dinner, ensuring that both my friend and I were well taken care of. Without a doubt, we will be returning for another memorable dining experience!

Thursday dinner. New summer menu with lots of offerings. Great pace between courses, well attentive staff.

It was me and my friends first time here, and we were not disappointed! I the spicy chicken pasta (gemetti, I think it was called). The sauce was SO flavourful, and the pasta itself tasted so fresh (and cooked perfectly al dente). Loads of chicken in it as well, which was really nice. Had the whipped ricotta to start (forgot to take a pic) and it was more than enough for two people to share. The restaurant itself is very clean and new-looking, with lovely accents. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back!

I came to Sugo with my family a few weeks ago, we all had different pastas which were cooked perfectly and the combinations were all amazing. We started with the calamari which was good too. The restaurant was packed and even still the food came in great time!!

We recently held our wedding here and if you are looking for an beautiful space to host an intimate wedding, I can t recommend Sugo enough. Alex and his team were so helpful during both the planning process and the day-of coordination. Our guests had a wonderful time so thank you to Sugo on Surrey for making our day so special.

at first i thought this was one of those pretentious places that charge a lot for a tiny portion of food. but once i had their mushroom gnocchi my whole world changed - great portions, amazing food, great staff and overall nice atmosphere.

Server was friendly and efficient. Our reservation turned out to be a bar table with tall stools. Not a first choice for a dinner before the theatre The food was great and cooked perfectly. Our server Laura was an absolute joy.

Always a top notch experience! A last minute decision to go out on a busy Saturday evening, and Sugo fit us in. I even made an error using the booking system and they immediately connected and made a change - greatly appreciated. As always the meal was outstanding, the food gets better and better! My Spinach Fiori was delicious I just cant get over the charcuterie board - it is huge! and everything on it is absolutely mouth watering! Dont miss the opportunity to try this - to start of finish a meal! The servers are kind, patient, and all around wonderful as my husband often has questions. Some of the best food in Guelph! I ve lived in Guelph my whole life and just recently went to Sugo a few weeks ago with my girlfriend. 100% recommend. We had the seafood linguine and a pizza . Both 10/10. Food isn t cheap but not crazy expensive either. For the quality of service and food I would say this is a great bang for the buck. Wonderful experience, hosts and servers were phenomenal and the food was amazing. I ll be back soon!

After 3 visits, the consistent quality of the food and service has been terrific! Some particular standouts for me in October 2023 have been Nonnas Meatballs, Cajun Asiago Crab Dip, Braised Lamb Shanks and the Triple Chocolate Brownie. Service is friendly and what you would expect from restaurant of this caliber.

Today, my buddy and I decided to check out this restaurant in Guelph. Things started off pretty sweet with a warm welcome from two friendly hosts. But, hold onto your hats, because the waitress who took care of us was a real piece of work not in a good way. She was rude, had a boatload of attitude, and couldnt be bothered to show any interest in our well-being. Were not sure if its cause were young or because were people of color we were the only ones in the joint. As for the food, our waitress ghosted us the entire time. We had to wave her down just to get the check since the food smelled like a wet dog on a hot day and tasted even worse. My friend, in a brave move, asked if they could take her plate away because it was just awful, and our waitress responded with a rude Why? Whats wrong with it? Her attitude was off the charts, and her body language? Total disapproval. Finally, she brought the bill with an impolite comment, implying that we should be thankful because the manager decided to let go of the inedible dish. The bill still added up to a hefty $87, and the overall service was pretty far from stellar. Honestly, after this letdown, I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone who values good food and decent service. The food stunk like wet dog and hot dogs, and we left feeling majorly let down

Interesting new menu. I wasnt expecting the kick in my meal but others enjoyed it. It was loud in there and hard to talk with the table, but atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed my sticky toffee pudding.
