Once Bread Bar, now Bardō. Where stone-baked pizzas, vibrant salads, and delicious entrees meet in a lively atmosphere, perfectly paired with craft beers and signature cocktails.
We had a fantastic experience at the Sunday brunch. The food was delicious, and the service was unmatched! Thank you so much, Quinn, for going above and beyond and making us feel so welcome. We’re definitely returning whenever we’re in Guelph.
What a great experience for having brunch, awesome food, all dishes are great , flavourful and good in quantity. Love the ambiance, happy vibes, very busy place though.
We came for the Sunday Brunch for the first time and found it to be a unique but overall a pleasant experience. Unlimited coffee was offered and the cocktail drinks offered with the brunch were fine (Caesars, mimosas and chai sparkling drink). Their buffet bar had a plentiful selection of sweet and savoury offerings. One of the highlights was their miso rainbow trout from the buffet bar - it was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. In addition to this, the ordered brunch dishes had a decent selection of your breakfast classics along with some more unique dishes such as brisket hash and chicken and waffles. It's an ideal brunch restaurant for someone who enjoys trying lots of different options instead of committing to a single dish. The interiors are an interesting mix of industrial and farmhouse but seemed a bit indecisive. Service was good but staff could be a bit more knowledgeable about what was offered and allergy considerations.
What a fantastic experience! We enjoyed a delightful Sunday brunch. An all you can eat experience which features both a buffet table and “small bites” made fresh on order. Brendan and the rest of the crew provided only the friendliest and most attentive service. The food, delicious! Too many favs to choose just one, but the tapas style servings you can try them all! Highly recommend making a reservation for a table as they are busy. Can’t wait to go back.
Love this place - probably my favourite restaurant in Guelph! I used to go regularly back when they were the Bread Bar but recently went for the first time since they changed to Bardo and it's still just as delicious! Delicious food, great drinks, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. Can't go wrong here :)
Love the vibe of this place. The patio is so pretty. Lots of shade and a nice view. The milkshake was amazing! We got the salted caramel flavour. It had homemade whipped cream as well. I got a large pizza with half Meat Mountain and half Carolina Gold. It was delicious but definitely for two people. I only had 3 slices lol. It’s a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. We had the server Quinn and he was great. It took a while for him to take our orders and get the cheque but it was really busy so it wasn’t his fault.
What a nice place! We tried their Calamari and the Meat Mountain pizza; both were very delicious. We also enjoyed a refreshing pint at the bar, which added to our great experience at Bardō. We will be back.
One of my favourite places in Guelph! They have incredible pizzas and I also recently tried the Sunday AYCE brunch. Their food is really delicious, tons of vegetarian options, and the service is friendly. I recommend the pizzas most of all - they are absolutely amazing!
Incredible lunch experience. Sat at the bar and Lex was very attentive and friendly. Had the meat pizza and the burrata and they were both phenomenal. The Dark & Cherry cocktail went perfect with everything. 10/10
My experiences at Bardo have been nothing but pleasant. I have only visited twice so far, and the food, service, and atmosphere have been amazing. The first time I went with my husband for our anniversary. We had heard only amazing reviews about the place from others. The food was amazing, I had the umami burger, and my husband got a pizza. The only hiccup we had was when we ordered our dessert, and it came back really hard and inedible. We explained to the wait staff, and they apologized and brought out a new dessert. They did not make us feel bad about it but made it very comfortable to express our unsatisfication. The second time I visited was recently with my coworkers after a volunteer shift we had done as a group before heading back to work. I got the smoked trout sandwich with the soup of the day, and it was cooked to perfection. We were early for our reservation, but they made it work. The service was also very quick, and everyone at our table enjoyed their food choices. Wait, staff are very nice and went over features with us. They gave recommendations, and food came out in a timely matter. Will definitely be visiting Bardo again! Thank you for the memorable dining experiences. Parking: The parking has never been an issue. Theres always been plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Even if that were to fill and its a nice day, there is parking across the street and a simple walk over from the park.
This is a fantastic spot! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between warm, cozy, and lively. Stephanie, our server, was an exceptional host who made the experience even better. Highly recommend!
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, flexible options Food
Amazing all you can buffet and menu. Diverse and quality.
We were a group of 6 people and Stephanie was the perfect host for the night! She took time to explain the menu and was very patient while taking orders. Food was delicious and the atmosphere is very cozy!
Awesome place, great food, cold drinks. And amazing wait staff.
Great pizza. Friendly service.
Such a great spot for any meal of the day! Love the menu and not only the flavour of the dishes, but also the presentation!
Great pizza, and hamburger. Unlimited refills on soft drinks which is the industry standard. Great service. Good job Bard Royal City ! Food
Great atmosphere, service and food. A bit pricy though.
Outstanding pizza and the service was exceptional
Best restaurant experience in Guelph! Food was so good! Not sure how they do it, but the ambience is perfect for every occasion.
Do not order the falafel burger it was overcooked to almost burnt and had no flavour. Really disappointed as paid hefty price. Squash soup was amazing though, drinks were ok. Not sure if I will go back. Staff were amazing but we didnt get seated at our reservation time took over 1/2 hour to seat us so glad they let us stay a bit longer due to waiting so long for our reserved table.
Excellent food and great service.
This was our first date spot 2 years ago and we come here every year for our anniversary. They went out of their way to make sure our anniversary dinner was perfect. Always recommend this place!!
Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service Dietary restrictions: The chief was extremely helpful for such a busy place. Thanks. Food : 5/5 |
Amazing and kind service here. A Guelph staple.
Service crew and atmosphere are great. The price is at the higher end given that the varieties of food available are not that much. Hey, but the food is very delicious. Its a lovely brunch place for our family.
Our waitress Mallory was super nice and very helpful. Food is always incredible, super fast too!
We received excellent service from Brendan! He so kind and went above and beyond, even giving us complimentary cookies! Recommend to stop by for a night out, great atmosphere!
Dined there with my mother this afternoon and had a wonderful experience as always. Our server, Quinn, made our experience even more amazing, and was one of the best servers we have had at Bard ! He was kind, attentive, and had a great attitude!
I had a fantastic experience here last night. I had ordered risotto with lobster and when it arrived, I found it too oily. They offered to remake it and gave me a salad while i waited so i could eat with the rest of my party. I found the waiter and manager to be polite, friendly, and accommodating. Fantastic service. I highly recommend it.
Sunday Brunch. Trying a little too hard on ethnic dishes. Some dishes very bland.
Food and service were both great! Really enjoyed this spot.
I am so grateful! We had a great night celebrating my Mom s birthday! Big shout out to Alex, who was so accommodating and friendly. Tonight was so special, thanks Alex and Bardo!
Went recently with a large group (approx 20) and had such a great time. The food (mostly) and service was amazing. The appys, Pizzas and other mains were fantastic with 1 exception. The Popcorn Mushrooms were really really not good. I love all kinds of mushrooms and was super excited to order them. It seemed to be about 75-80% coating /crumbs with no mushrooms and about 20-25% coated mushrooms. As a result the seasonings were overpowering and the dish was super dry. I would absolutely go back and highly recommend their menu but would advise that you skip the popcorn mushrooms.
Excellent food, top rate restaurant.
The food and atmosphere were spot on for a girls night out, but what really made the evening memorable was our server, Quinn. Their attentive and friendly service added a special touch to our dinner. Quinn was incredibly patient as we took our time deciding on our order and gave us just the right amount of space to enjoy our conversation without feeling rushed. It was the perfect balance of great food, relaxed vibes, and exceptional service!
great place, delicious food, warm atmosphere, great variety of beer on tap, fresh and unusual selection. Highly recommend this place.
We were here when I was pregnant last year, so we wanted to visit it again with my daughter (8-month now), you would think with infant you would get a bit better service, however we waited half hour for a table while there were empty tables all over when I went to use washroom, do you know how valuable it is half hour time of the day before a infant gets fussy... finally got a table(they prepared highchair which is nice), then waited another ten minutes for someone to show up to take our order, and then another 15 minutes for food, a pizza and a sandwich...the wait was just not fun, especially with a baby...food is not bad, but will not go there again
Let me start by saying excellent service by Quinn. A true gentleman. The food was delicious too.
One of our fav regular places! Food and service is always great!
Food 4/5 service 2/5
One of my fav restaurants in Guelph! Food is amazing and service is always great!
Bardo doesnt disappoint! Our table of six ordered a bit of everything from the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals (highly recommend the Muffaletta sandwich). Service was attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Overall a very good experience. We will be back the next time we are in Guelph.
Underwhelming
We went to bardo to celebrate our anniversary and had the best time! The menu looked really good, we will definitely be back to try more. Our cocktails and food were amazing but our server Nathan really made our experience. He provided excellent care for us and made us feel at home! Thank you!
The service was good, great pizza. Sick bathrooms!!
Great food and great service from Alex .
What a great experience! Was in town for a triathlon and brought family and friends to Bardo. Everyone had a great time. Well be back!
Loved our lunch today, the salmon sandwich with tomato soup was and our server was super nice and had such a cool vine to her. Their Aperol is great too.
The pizza was good. I just thought it lacked some flavor.
Excellent food and friendly staff!!!
Food is fantastic. Their Sunday brunch is awesome and well worth the money. This is a regular spot for us. Would highly recommend.
Great evening at Bardo last night on their patio. The food was excellent! We enjoyed the Quinoa, Chickpea and Black Bean Salad and the Meat Mountain pizza. The service was wonderful. Ally went the extra mile with all the little extras she provided. Highly recommend!
Georgia was an excellent server today!! She went out of her way to make sure our experience was above and beyond what we expected. Such a wonderful way to spend a sunny Saturday on a patio! Thank you Georgia <3
We really enjoyed the pizza - we did a large with half and half, two different flavors. Was plenty of food for the two of us. We also got the umami burger/fries which was great as well. Great service!
This is the second time weve been ... Great atmosphere... there is a craft beer called cowbell thats amazing. Thanks to the server for the heads up
Best pizza
Parking: The parking lot is bahinde the restaurant Food
Always a great meal here.
Visiting from Austria, lucky enough to try Bardo s. Overall excellent service, food, and experience! The highlight for me was the authentic southern bread pudding! Thumbs up till next visit! Thanks guys!
Nice waiter, nice place, nice food
Always a great time! The patio is covered with retractable panels so the patio can be for ran or shine. The staff did a great job accommodating our senior guests and found some pillows to make her chair more comfortable. The seasonal menu rotation is great to try each time you go; some menu favorites with a twist is a reason to keep going back. Keep up the great work!! Wheelchair accessibility: Located at ground level with plenty of space between the tables
Bee Sting Pizza is by far the best pizza I ve ever had. The Hummus and pita is amazing as well.
Came to try the all-you-can-enjoy small plates on Wednesday. Melissa was our server and she was so friendly and the epitome of hospitality. She made the dining experience enjoyable and relaxing. Thank you Melissa!
Umami Burger was amazing. I get a burger almost everywhere I go and this one was a memorable one. The loaded truffle fries are worth the upgrade. Also tried the pepperoni pizza that was loaded with pepperonis
I ordered two pizzas, one new york and one meat mountain. Both were unevenly cooked and some slices were just raw dough. A little disappointing considering the price. I had their pizza a while back and It was really good. Fortunately, the manager gave us replacement pizza on the house and it was a lot better!
Super tasty pizza
When a restaurant is part of a larger group that prides itself on providing guests with genuine and thoughtful experiences; created through extraordinary cuisine, gracious service, inspiring settings and a passion for delivering memorable moments - you expect a certain level. But when your expectations are exceeded and your mind blow by the level of service by one individual - you cannot wait to tell everyone you know. Zach served us on the patio and although I have been numerous times before and knew what I was getting - this particular experience ranks as one of the best and I look forward to going back again as soon as possible.
Great food, the pizza is fantastic! The patio is one of the best in Guelph. The tapas on Wednesday are also great!
Best pizza in Guelph! We got the MVPizza (daily special) and Bee Sting.
I just love this place. The food is always delicious and the staff are courteous and friendly.
Great food and service! Unfortunately the fries were soggy but apparently that s not usually the case. Still tasted good!
Great food and drinks, best muscles I ve ever had
Absolutely spectacular pizza some of the best I ever had + it did take much longer than expected but well worth the wait + not much other than that service was not as attentive+ that pizza is infinitely better than any pizza we have had
Incredibly tasty food, and the housemade lemonade was a fantastic non-alcoholic drink option. The patio is beautiful! The price point is fair and the menu is certainly vegetarian-friendly. Service definitely slowed as it got busier so, personally, I think Id try to plan future visits for off-peak times.
Great location and solid food options. Weve been twice and always a good experience.
Wonderful experience, the ambiance is great, and the pizza was very tasty and flavourful. 10/10 experience.
I was here for Sunday brunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere on the patio, our server was amazing and the food served was quite good. It was one of the best brunches Ive had in a long while.
Food is decent. Biggest issue was the giant earwig that came crawling out from under the plate as we were having the table cleared. No discount offered, just an apology and assurance that it was not a cockroach. won t be returning
We recently celebrated a birthday at Bardo Guelph, a restaurant we usually enjoy for its great atmosphere and delicious dishes. Most of our meal was enjoyable, but unfortunately, we had a serious issue with the MVPizza and pesto pasta. Both dishes contained pizza-sliced chicken that tasted off. The chicken had a strong, unpleasant taste and smelled like it was near expiration. We informed the waitress, who attributed the flavor to the marination, but we are confident the chicken was not fresh. We appreciate the typically high standards at Bardo Guelph and hope the kitchen staff checks the chicken to ensure it s up to par. We suggest discarding any remaining stock if it still has the same issues. Despite this, we still like the restaurant and hope for better experiences in the future.
Place was good, liked the food though some dishes werent as good as they could have been, as it seems some of the quality of the dishes was impacted by the need to improve meal presentation it wasnt impacted that much. Personally I think it might be a bit more expensive than it should be but still worth it for a good meal and some drinks. Parking: There is plenty of parking around the back, as well as on the surrounding streets and across the street.
Best brunch! Our server was amazing! Great birthday!
Had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere. Our server Alex was amazing, attentive and had a wonderful sense of humor. We had a great banter about what would be considered the staple pie.
Used to be my favorite place when it was bread bar..now..disappointing wont be going back..the feature soup and popcorn muchrooms?? Who is doing the menu? The menu should just do pizzas.
Love this place!
Absolutely love this place every time I go. My go to are cheese Louise and Carolina Gold sub chicken with red pepper, delicious combo! I do wish they had halal options so my family and I could indulge the meat as well.
Bee sting pizza is great, service was great, really nice restaurant overall.
Awesome pizza! The Bee Sting pizza was delicious. The large size pizza was massive. 10/10 would recommend the kale Caesar salad too. Service was great! Would recommend if your around Guelph!
Burrata: 10/10 would recommend, favourite burrata Ive had in restaurants. Loaded fries (aioli): 7/10, pretty good but not my favourite Pizza (Bee sting): 9/10, great flavour combo for sweet and salty, would recommend as well. Food : 4/5
Sunday Brunch! Excellent variety of everything!! From pizza and sourdough, charcuterie, salad, biscuits, scones, baked goods..Plus creative and delicious a la carte items and 2 cocktails included! Top notch, attentive service!!
Just an awful experience here. I went w my gf for our 1 year anniversary and they completely ruined the whole thing. Firstly the service was bad, I told him about our special occasion and he asked us if there is any special occasions 1 min later, clearly wasn t paying attention. They messed up the orders badly, my gf is gluten free so we specified no cheese many times but that did nothing bc Ofc there was cheese. They didn t even give me the correct pizza also. The only thing they did get right, the appetizer was an embarrassing dish. I dont remember what is was called exactly but it was a mushroom bread dish and it was horrible. Neither of us liked it at all. The service throughout all this continued to be subpar. First they accused us of not telling him the no cheese thing when it was clearly stated by both of us like 3 times. The mushroom dish was barely touched and when he asked how was it I told him very disappointing etc. and he just said I m sorry and took it away, no effort to offer us a new dish or anything like that. They did remake the pizza w cheese but only after I had to get the manager involved. Ofc said they couldn t help with mine since I already started eating it. For the record the pizzas were not nearly as good as I expected either and just fell apart instantly when I picked it up, tasted subpar too. All that for almost 100$ lol, just laughably bad experience and I will make sure to tell everyone I can to never go here again. Embarrassing display from this restaurant and I almost always love eating out. Dietary restrictions: They have no regard for dietary restrictions in my experience. My gf couldn t even get gluten free pizza when we tried.
I love their pizza I came back to this restaurant so many times for Apple Bacon pizza Even thinking about this pizza makes me hungry. If you love stone pizza this is the restaurant you should go to. Their pizza reminds me of a trip to Italy.
It was another great experience, food and service was excellent. It s nice that we could reserve a table on the patio. It was quite busy but we were in and out in just over an hour. The Burrata is excellent and the pizza is always a favourite.
Absolutely amazing place for lunch or dinner. But take my recommendation and go for the Sunday brunch!!!! The best brunch youll find. Great options, fair price for what you get and the service is fantastic!!!!
Not worth the price or hype, definitely have people who go here who dont have a palette or lets just say are mostly Karens and franks. Waste of time and Money 0 stars. I want a Refund. Lol
Excellent. Had their cauliflower bites, arugula salad and the chicken. Awesome! 2-jun-2024 Its now called Bardo. Food is still delicious. Cocktails are still amazing. Service is still top notch.
Revised review: while the service and atmosphere is lovely, the gluten friendly menu options are very limited. Sadly no gluten free pizza dough or buns for any of the sandwiches.
We sat on the patio which was really nice. Food and service was excellent.
Went for the sunday brunch. The patio is nice and the atmosphere was lively. Service was friendly but slow and and fairly disorganized. The brunch is all you can eat. This makes for a novel but somewhat chaotic experience. The quality of the food was fairly good, but the space is not ideal for a buffet.
The ambiance was very nice. It rained when we were there, and they had a retractable awning. The food was delicious. Staff were friendly.
Umami burger is tremendous, staff are very attentive and it s a nice place to eat.
Food was delicious and Taylor was an awesome server!! Will be back for sure
One of the nicest patios around, even on a rainy night the awning made it really enjoyable. Our server Georgia was lovely, she was personable and on top of things the entire meal. The food was excellent! We can t wait to come back
People from Guelph will eat anything.
The service, food and quality of food are all impeccable here. Last time I was here (maybe several months ago), we had a great server named Zack that was so memorable. Now every time we encounter a not-so-great server in the area or in the GTA in general, my family and I say well I guess theyre no Zack from Bread Bar. They use and pair some unique ingredients too so its definitely a place you have to return to.
Great food, great service and a decent price. Grab a pizza to take home for tomorrow....
This is my third time at Bardo (Bread Bar). Every experience has been fantastic! The service is great. The staff are always friendly and fun. The food is amazing. The calamari and pizza are a family favorite. I cant say one bad thing about Bardo. I highly recommend
Food was delicious and the service was great. Thanks Lex and Zac for taking such good care of us. Will definitely visit again soon! Food
Parking: Its being shared with a lot of shops around. Food
Great service ten out of 10 had hummus and pita, hamburger. Best hummus and pita I have ever tasted. I ll be back.
Always good pizza. Great ingredients and dough. I wish theyd change up the pizzas more often. Bring back the jerk chicken pizza! The mains are delish but a small selection. Its pricey but quality.
It was our first time dining at Bardo, which was for a family members birthday celebration, unfortunately the restaurant was extremely noisy, to the point that we all couldnt relax or hear each other. Its very unpleasant to be going to restaurant for the first time and to feel completely overwhelmed and uneasy due to high levels of ambient noise. We had a good waiter, but we waited a very long time for our food, and once the pizzas came, they werent cut properly...we were getting the crumbs and pizza topping all over ourselves and the table top. The pizzas were ok at best. It was a very frustrating evening, with little enjoyment, with mediocre food. Thankfully the manager gave us the meal for free. We will give Bardo another chance...but first impressions werent that great.
Our reservation was during the the dinner rush and unfortunately it took about 30 minutes for our pizza to arrive. It wasnt sliced well and after struggling to cut it I sent it back to be cut. Not the fault of it server, Chad, who was excellent. In fact the whole service team were really upbeat and professional. Just bad timing I suppose. The pizza was very good as was the popcorn mushrooms. In my opinion though, it is far too noisy to enjoy a dinner with a guest. I was tired when I left due to straining to hear and having to raise my voice to be heard.
Always great food!
I had an amazing experience here. Very satisfied with the food (umami burger and apple bacon pizza) and service. Highly recommended.
My family took me here for my milestone birthday. I was not impressed with the service and the restaurant charges 18% tip on top of the very expensive meal and drinks, which frankly, was not worth it. The waitress we had, had no personality and was not very friendly. She could have at least wished me a happy birthday. The appetizers and meals were mediocre at best. I had the falafel burger and it was just o.k. I have one word for your place - salt. Add some salt to your food, it doesnt have to be a lot, just enough. I dont think any salt was added to anyones selections. We had to ask for salt on the table which was given. I dont think Ill come back to this place.
What an amazing Mothers Day brunch. We came as a family of 5. I mentioned to them my daughter is a wheelchair and they made sure to provide us with a table that had plenty of space. The staff from the host to servers were beyond kind. They explained how the brunch works and were very attentive to all our needs. They truly made this such an amazing experience for the entire family. There was plenty to choose from on the menu to satisfy everyones needs. The bathrooms were individual ones and they had a good size wheelchair accessible one. I just wished the bathroom lighting was brighter in the wheelchair accessible bathroom at least. Anyone that came to our table was professional, kind and very warm. What a great team you have working there. Parking: Big parking lot. Also another parking lot across the street. There are few side parking spots right by the entrance. Kid-friendliness: Our kids loved the brunch, many families were there with kids as well. The staff were beyond kind. Wheelchair accessibility: Our daughter felt very welcomed using her wheelchair. There was a specious wheelchair accessible bathroom.
Great food. Super service. Nice atmosphere. Used to be called the Bread Bar. As Bardo its still great. Our waiter Alex was great. Vegetarian options: Lots of choices. Beautiful soup.
Pre mother s luncheon a bit loud but very cozy
Ive been here many times, and I love their menu. However, the last time I was there, I went with one other person. We were seated in a corner, and it took 15 minutes before someone came by with water and asked if were ready to order. We ordered right away, the app came by fairly quickly, but then we were ignored for the rest of the stay. Nobody came by to offer a water refill. Our mains didnt arrive after an hour (it was only 2 items). We had to leave, so we got our food packed up to go. They waived the fee for the app, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). Im not sure if I want to come back again, which is a shame because I did like their food.
Amazing atmosphere. Great ample parking. Service fast and friendly. Great value.
Best pizza in KW and Guelph hands down. The dough is expertly made which comes with very unique but tasty toppings.
It was our first time having brunch at Bardo. Our server was wonderful. The food was delicious. Can t wait to return!
Had an amazing time at this location! Recommend the cidergria and any of the pizzas. Our server Quinn was awesome and super friendly- walked us through the menu and popular recommendations, and was really helpful. Would visit again
Absolutely loved this place! Highly recommend. The food was fantastic and service was phenomenal. An amazing date spot.
We came here for a birthday dinner for 10 people. Food was speedy and amazing, the drinks were great due to our servers recommendations, and by the end of the night it had slowed down so we were able to chat with our server who was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, the Bardo company, and the menu. Its always a treat when we make it into Guelph for the pizza.
Food was excellent. Our service wasnt great and they attempted to make up for it with free dessert. Id rather have good service.
There s nothing not to love about this place. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the service is so great. I really appreciate their warm and friendly staff. Best place to eat in Guelph!
Local gem! Highly recommend when visiting Guelph. Great service.
Bard is one of my wifes favorite restaurants. Their food is simply delicious and perfectly prepared. Their service is exceptional and all their staff members are very helpful, friendly and polite. I suggest you to make reservations in order to avoid waiting. Their patio is awesome and well setup... even fir those cool and rainy days. Fully recommended
My friend and I went out for lunch here for the first time and the service was absolutely amazing and will definitely be coming back . Our server was Quinn and he was amazing. So nice and humble. He portrayed every good quality a server should have.
Had a lunch with coworkers there. Food was great especially the pizza!
Definitely amongst top three of my favorite restaurants in the tri-city area. If you havent been, you should have been!
Absolutely wonderful experience in terrace!!
A mixed review for this place. I couldnt go to a big gathering for a grad celebration. They ordered appetizers and pizza which they say was amazing. I had covid and had to stay home so they brought me a Falafel Burger and I should have know better. Ive ordered for pick up before and its always been disappointing, but nothing else on the menu looked good to me and I have a fish allergy and have to be careful. When he brought it home it was even worse than last time. The Falafel was burnt all the way around. I had to take off what was absolutely inedible (50%of it )and the sauce was completely forgettable. The pieces that were burnt were so bad they made an audible thump on my plate. My husband felt so bad. First I couldnt go to the party and now what they brought me was not even a passing grade. So I will give it 4 stars because their pizza was very good. But for my burnt inedible Falafel Burger I had to take away a star. Not sure Ill ever order again from here I just cant seem to get anything good for me there and my office has ordered quite a few times for lunch.
Service: I am deeply disappointed to have experienced such unwelcoming behavior from the hostesses at Bardo. Despite our patience and flexibility, the vibe we received made us feel unwelcomed. The two hostesses gave off racist vibes seeing us 3 brown people enter the restaurant and their demeanor was quite hostile throughout our interaction. Ambience and Food: Once seated, our server Quinn was fantastic and made the mood better for us. Food lived up to my expectations, as they did during my visits when the restaurant was known as Earth to Table. Overall Experience: Unfortunately, the unpleasant encounter with the hostesses overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. Despite the delicious food and cozy atmosphere, I will not be returning to Bardo due to the unacceptable treatment we received.
Wanted a small side salad woht my pastrami instead of the fries or soup but was unable to get the switch without paying the 3$. Makes no sense :(
My 2nd time there for lunch. Lovely place. We sat at the bar because all the tables were filled. I had a chicken salad with kale that was delicious. The other person dining with me had pizza.
An excellent lunch experience! I had a smoked meat sandwich which was smoked in house! Deliscious. For a Wednesday Lunch the place was full! Our server was excellent and very friendly as were all the staff! What a great dining experience! Food
Quinn was an amazing server. His service was impeccable. This restaurant is one of our favourites in Guelph and we definitely recommend.
Very nice place! I ve never visited when there was a Bread Bar and some people say the service and quality has changed. Well, I can compare only with other bars of the same level and should say I really enjoyed here starting from atmosphere and ending with food. I ordered the grain bowl with salmon. Such a nice mix of flavours: sweet salty and crunchy at the same time. Will definitely return next time for more experience.
Great food. Recommend skinny fries and quinoa salad and heirloom beet salad. Excellent service from Taylor. Nice industrial style ambiance. Was busy but not loud. Tasty drinks. Our first visit. Will be back. Dietary restrictions: Menu has codes for restricted diets.
Lovely place for a night out anytime of the week. We went on a Wednesday night and it was super lively. Everyone in our group was satisfied with their orders - all dishes looked really tasty. The burgers come with a very generous serving of fries and I highly recommend the umami burger.
Absolutely wonderful experience. We ve been for dinner before and their food is great. Large portions and always fresh. Today, we tried out their Sunday brunch- go do it! They have little portions of their a la carte items so you can try a little bit of everything, or order the same thing more than once. Buffet had great options as well. Quinn was friendly and attentive.
Wonderful meal with friends this Thursday! Our server Danielle was amazing and went above and beyond!
Went with a group of 8 and four of us had stomach issues that night. BARDO NO NO
Loved the food. My burger was one of the best Ive ever had. Service was great
Best stone oven pizza in Canada so far. Amazing atmosphere. Great waitress, fell in love. PS - get the large fries! Food
We came to the restaurant for dinner on Monday. Just as we were finishing up our appetizers the host seated 4 kids with a dog next to us. And no it wasn t a service dog. This was a 15lb maltipoo that sat up on the bench attached to us and on the table. I can t believe they allowed this and said NOTHING while this disgusting dog had its face and tongue on the table people eat on. DISGUSTING. Think twice before eating here. You have dog slobber on your table
Nice meal I had on a Wednesday evening. The place was packed which did limit our time when dining in. Food was great, it is pricey to order main course, along with an appetizer and a drink. Servers were very helpful with ordering and explaining the menu. Even though we were forced to leave, the waiters were kind enough to give us complimentary cookies for the inconvenience.
Not a great experience, burger was tasteless, fries were too salty, burned and hard. Also ordered calamari, it was incredibly greasy Warm beer There are much better local bars and pubs options, better food, cold beer and less expensive.
Great service , welcoming staff and cozy atmosphere
Very good restaurant. I have been there several times and have always had a good experience. Food and service never disappoints.
This is our local go-to, when we want a great meal, amazing wait staff, and a lively place to socialize.
I had one of the best pizzas of my life at this here Bread Bar. Also I had one of the best milkshakes of my joyous existence. The service was lovely. It was a a bit pricey but I suppose it is the cost of quality. Thank you.
It seems like this place is always busy, but the servers are pretty quick, the menu is creative, and the food is really good.
This place has really gone downhill. The food was horrible as well as the atmosphere. What happened?
The place looks and feels nice and the service was good but the food was awful. The only good thing we noticed was the overpriced pizza. There were alot of us that couldnt fully eat what we ordered because it was so plain. So not get the Mac & cheese. It is gross and others at the table tried it and agreed. Also the serving is a tiny bowl with a massive plate of fries. The food really needs work but other than that, everything else is good.
Very nice service, delicious food
I revisited and had the same great experience. The winter menu is slightly varied but the quality of taste is still exceptional. My umami Burger with heirloom beet salad and a whiskey sour on the side were all delicious and well made. Great space for dining in a group, with family or to enjoy a solo dinner. Original: We had an exceptional dining experience. The server was lovely, patient and very informative. Had the burrata and we split a salad. Very filling. The house made lemonade is also refreshing and comes in a range of flavours.
Bring your appetite, the large pizza feeds at least two grown men. Try the Collective Arts Emerald Stout as a nice non alcoholic alternative.
Our server Zack was awesome! The food was absolutely amazing! We had the Brussel sprouts and the hummus for our apps, and both were phenomenal! The ceasar salad, and pizza was also top notch and excellent! We will be back! Our new favorite restaurant!
The 4 of us had a great meal here. There was a bit of a wait but we were kept in the loop and provided some complimentary drinks. Zach C was our server and he was the perfect mix of being attentive and informative without being overbearing. While all the food was fantastic and well priced, the stand out was the sweet cherry pie pizza. Highly recommended and hope to visit next time we are in the area.
Restaurant under new ownership offers gluten free options, however does not prepare the food as gluten free. I recently ordered an appetizer and was told it was gluten free with a separate gluten free fryer to only later discover that the sauce has gluten in it. In advance of ordering, I had indicated to the waitress I had celiac and went through the menu item to ensure if was GF in advance of ordering. Staff do not understand what celiac or gluten free means. If you are celiac, DO NOT EAT here! Dietary restrictions: Celiac
What can I say? The place has a great decor and pleasant ambiance. A bit on the expensive side! But a lovely treat!!
