86 Gordon St, Guelph, ON N1H 4H6, Canada
Cozy Japanese restaurant and pub with an all-you-can-eat option featuring sushi, izakaya snacks, dessert, and an extensive sake selection.
Been here for AYCE and takeout it was good both times. The quality is great and the rice to fish ratio is good. The fish is fresh and the other dishes also come very quickly and tasted great without being too greasy. The staff are attentive and the service is fast. Definitely one of the best in Guelph.
Me and my dad come here as often as we can. Mostly because it's the BEST sushi place in Guelph hands down. There are only 2 really bad things about this. The price and the cleanliness. The price is almost $90 for two adults which is a LOT of money. The cleanliness can times be really gross. The lights in the Booths especially as one time some dust fell onto the handroll. Even though they apologized, if they cleaned the lights regularly this wouldnt have happened. 9.7/10!!
I don’t like all-you-can-eat restaurants. But this is the exception that confirms the rule. The food was shockingly good. The short ribs were to die for, and the fish was fresh. The unanimous verdict from all of us was “I ate like a king”. Highly recommended.
I came to dinner to this amazing and authentic restaurant. Food is delicious, testy, service is stunning fast and very easy to order since they give you and iPad with the menu on it, place is calm and cozy, but for me the best, was the excelent service of Michel, she speak also some Spanish, she was funny and very kind although se was working very hard and fast, looking forward to go back and there.
In my opinion, this is the best all you can eat sushi restaurant in Guelph! They have lots of delicious rolls and tasty menu options. They always offer prompt service, making it a local favorite for a quick, delightful sushi experience. I absolutely love it. Go with a group and go hungry!
The service was out outstanding . Fantastic selection and delicious variety fresh foods ! The Ayce is pricey, but they include tea and soft drinks. Staff were friendly ,professional , helpful with answering guestions and offering information and suggestions. This is best Sushi I have had anywhere in the Tri-Cities / Guelph area. Will definitwly come back !!
Went alone. Service was incredibly quick until the second half, when they stopped coming to my table. I had to go up to the front desk to get somebody over. However, it seems it was a busy day, and I'm sure any other day (or if I was in a regular table rather than one that was more hidden away) it would have been fine. Also, they forgot one of my dishes, but it's all you can eat so it's fine. All this to say, while the service has flaws, they're negligible flaws, and the staff is very kind and understanding. The food was great. I personally really liked their salmon nigiri, and the rainbow roll was good as well. The menu pricing is a tad expensive, and as far as I am aware, you can not eat in-restaurant if you order sushi by the piece. As a result, your pricing will almost certainly be quite high. But the experience is worth it, as this is the best sushi place in the area, in my opinion. Overall, I would definitely return with my family given the opportunity. But due to the cost, I will be a tad reluctant to suggest it outside of special occasions.
Ordered for delivery many times. Always great food and fast delivery. The food is always fresh, tastes absolutely GREAT and the portion size is amazing comparing to other restaurants. They didn't cut their quality or serving amount during this crazy Covid time. I am a picky eater but have always been able to find highlights when I order from them. Officially my favorite sushi restaurant in Guelph.
Probably the best ayce sushi in Guelph! The service is alwayyss exceptional and the sushi is pretty good. Theyre pretty festive and decorate the place depending on the season! The price is on par with other ayce sushi places in the area.
Love this place so much , they treat us like family so friendly, always clean place and food always fresh Kid-friendliness: All staffs really sweet and friendly
Great service and quality
Pristine as always. Food always great, abundant and freshly made
Food was good, way too cold in restaurant, internet kept going offline causing orders to not send to kitchen, staff could be more attentive with the ordering issues. Fix or will not be back.
The rolls are too big. Impossible to pick up without falling apart.
I have tried three different ayce in Guelph, this one is absolutely the best! Totally recommend!
My favorite sushi ever!!! Sooo tasty and I love the plating absolutely obsessed. If I could pick to only have 1 food ever for the rest of my life it would be your sushi
Amazing sushi and service is exceptional, definitely will be back next time were in Guelph
Their staff is very rude
Great , centrally located sushi restaurant. I visit it often
Delicious food, fast and friendly service, and reasonable prices!
Place is amazing, great fast service. Food is all so good
My go to sushi spot in Guelph. Good quality for both dine in and take out. Affordable and always delicious.
Best all-you-can-eat type sushi spot in Guelph. Teriyaki beef is served on a sizzling plate and served rare. You can then cook it to your liking right on the hot plate at your table. Bacon wrapped crab is fire. The deep fried rolls are also very nice and less greasy than elsewhere. That being said, sometimes the sashimi is hit and miss . Having good quality fish all the time would go a looong way to that 5th star (for the price). Otherwise, you won t be disappointed.
Hanami has been the go-to sushi spot in Guelph for my friends and I for years now. Atmosphere is nice, staff is friendly, and the food is great
Great food!
People here were great No nonsense, all business and very direct. Just how I like it. Inside was a little shabby and had some fishy tasting bites. Rice was bland and not enough ginger for my liking. Tea comes by the cup, not pot. Rice was bland. I think most places rely on sauces for flavor now, maybe. Quite pricey considering all this. Probably will not go again.
Staff are very attentive. Very nice place and the food was pretty good.
FIVE STARS! I had so much fun with my sister and friends! One of the waiters named Howie was so friendly and kind he made our experience so memorable. Outstanding experience, I ll definitely be back! Vegetarian options: There s vegetarian/pescatarian options for those who eat halal too!
The sushi is consistently amazing, the service is great (one particular waiter is very entertaining), and the atmosphere has a busy vibe but is laid back. I always enjoy myself here.
Food is very good as always, have been coming here for years now. Only issue is with the new ownership, service is alot slower and one particular server (man) is very aggressive, rude and no social skills. All the original servers are very good.
Great sushi, I pad ordering system works well.
Were big sushi fans, and have recently moved to Guelph. Everyone Ive asked recommends Hanami by a landslide for All You Can Eat - and I understand why!! There was a huge selection of food, and everything we ate tasted amazing! We will be back soon :)
All you can eat sushi for a reasonable price. Great food & service. Highly recommend!!
Ordered takeout. The food tastes amazing. Will be back to try other items on the menu!
I ordered take out, the portions were very small a bit poor but sushi tasted good.
Went after work/class on a Wednesday, fantastic service from not only our main server, but the others running dishes from the kitchen. Did the buffet, and I forgot to take photos because the food was so good. Seating is limited, but the room isnt crowded, so dining is comfortable. Dietary restrictions: Went with someone who has a mushroom and seafood allergy. They were able to eat safely and to their fill without any issue. Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly - the booths are comfortable, spacious, and easy to manoeuvre. Bathrooms are easily accessible and clearly marked. Food options range from adventurous to simple.
Great place for izakaya and sushi.
Great AYCE and best customer service. Thanks to my dinner crew Mimi and Kevin and the high energy guy Howie. Really consistent and worth the drive off the highway. See you all again soon for I think will be the 10th time.
Atmosphere and service are decent but the food is some of the best sushi in the area. The food alone rates a 5 star review.
I shall quote my son. The food is so tasty and fancy. Thats why were giving it a 5 star Review.
Came for lunch on Saturday. Great selection and wonderful service.
My favorite sushi restaurant. The food is unbelievably delicious. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Try the deep dried Mars bars...they are so yummy!
I liked the tea they offered before the food. It tasted very good.
Some decent sushi for lunch, at higher than dinner prices. Ill have to save up before I can think about coming back. $50 pp is too much for ayce lunch.
Quick and friendly service Good food Food
I love this place, the quality of the sushi is amazing as well as their other dishes. We have been coming here for over 3 years and the food quality remains high but I have noticed the service slowly declining. There is one particular waiter that is extremely aggressive and has zero social skills or customer service skills. Before he started working here, service was great. Shame though because the food is truly amazing.
Simply the best. Fresh and delicious tasting food, great service, and pleasant ambiance. Update: I visited again recently and I reiterate my initial review of great food and service.
The waitress is hot. Dear God, Im so very lonely. Five stars! Food : 5/5
Great place to eat. The only thing I would recommend is to add more optional sauces.
This is the best sushi place in guelph hands down. I frequent here. The food is always great and the service is really refreshing
Amazing amazing amazing food, everyone was so friendly and kind. Such a cozy and fun atmosphere. Will definitely be going back very soon!
My husband too me here for all you can eat sushi and it was absolutely delicious, staff were wonderful and very friendly, food was quick, and there is lots to choose from! Parking: Although the parking lot is usually kind of busy it seems you can always find a spot
Great food, great people
I was really disappointed here. I looked online and saw their al la cart menu and wanted to sit in and eat some rolls. I went there and they would not allow me to order from the al la cart menu. Its either all you can eat which is an insane price of $43 per person or their pre set combos which included things i didnt like or want. So my meal that I planned to be $20 ended up being $43 dollars because I was forced into getting the all you can eat. Unfortunately it was at 8pm after a really long day and I just did not have the energy to go somewhere else. The rolls were only ok, not the best sushi ive had and not even the best in Guelph. Overall disappointed, mislead and overpriced. I cannot recommend.
Great place went last night w my friend and we were satisfied with the food and drinks, the service was great our server did her best to get us what we needed she was very nice and all smiles, manager was nice and he asked about our time and it was great qe said id recommend this place to anyone looking for a big meal ! Cheers
Victoria is a best server , very friendly, good food
Very good meal. Fast and courteous service. Tasty and generous portions. Will definitely be back
This is our favourite AYCE. We travel 45+ minutes to get here and it s worth it every time. Service is quick, staff are attentive and super friendly. The food is always delicious.
Absolutely best Suchi in Guelph. Very fresh.
Love this place. We go whenever we r in the city. Great food Great ppl!
Ordered take out and it was honestly really good! I d go back for sure!
My favourite all you can eat sushi place in Guelph. My favourite sahimi is salmon and the amaebi shrimp sashimi.
This is a place I frequent, I would argue it one of the better spots in Guelph. But sometimes, you ll have absolutely deplorable experiences resulting from an incredible dip in quality service. Complete and utter respect for the staff, I know it s not an easy job, but they continuously fail to provide you with the food that is requested. Whether that s a fault of the system or cooks preparing the meals, the quality of service in this restaurant has unfortunately plummeted. I ve gone twice in the last month, both at different times, one empty with only two other tables filled, and the other this Father s Day, with every table packed. In both instances we did not receive everything we asked for. I can understand some things slipping through the cracks during a hectic rush, but there was a total of 7-8 items we requested that arrived unreasonably tardy. 40-90 minute wait times. When asking for ETAs on our food, we were dismissed outright, very busy. It will be here, he droned off repeatedly. By that point we had waited 60 minutes for some of our food, we couldn t get our concerns across before he was moving on. We had to get help from another waiter, bless her. Even so, we waited 90 minutes in total for two deep fried Cali rolls, only one of which actually even arrived at all. We left not even receiving three of our items we ordered because it was unreasonable to wait any longer than we had. By that point the rush was over, it s frankly inexcusable to not receive items in a timely manner. Never in all my years have I left an AYCE sushi spot with food still on the way. I hate food going to waste, in this instance however, my family was safe to assume they ve somehow lost our orders. Now the food is quite delicious, and they have good variety and selection. Their karage is something I quite enjoyed greatly. Getting them to deliver on that promise as of recent feels like pulling teeth however, disillusioning me on the very thing that had garnered my high praise. During my first visit this last month, we had ordered for 12 pieces to arrive at our table, (they sell in 3s). Only 6 arrived. Given that the restaurant was empty, I m genuinely curious how these errors even occur, there was barely anyone else to serve, is it unreasonable to expect to receive everything one asks for? At Father s Day we repeated the order. Although very delicious, shrinkflation was quite apparent, with these pieces being smaller than Timbits. You re not likely to receive the 3 pieces as advertised either unfortunately, receiving anywhere from 1-3 per order. Of my 12 piece order, I counted only 10 pieces of karage. When I followed up with an additional 3 piece, I received 2. It s issues like these with the service that is starting to make me disappointed. I was excited to take my girlfriend here soon, but unfortunately I just can t in good conscience take her or recommend anyone for that matter a location that frequently fails to provide you with what is asked. I hear that Cherry Blossom is an exceptional location with great sushi selection. So although it lacks in the variety that made me love Hanami to begin with, I ll have to give it a try!
Food is good and comes out extremely quickly - excellent service
Definitely going back. Very friendly staff, nice, fast service, and very clean. The food tastes amazing.
It was really good. I found it to be more noisy than I wanted. I thought going at 8 pm it would be quieter. The food was great, better then expected and the servers were lovely!
Great service amazing quality
Fantastic selection and delicious foods. We tried as much as possible, and every dish was good and fresh. The service was outstanding. Will definitely come back!
My husband and I live in Waterloo and will drive to get this amazing sushi. Food is amazing and service is excellent. By far my favourite sushi place!
My hands-dowm favorite AYCE sushi spot in Guelph
The best all you can eat sushi!
What a great place! Excellent food Excellent service Very friendly Will be going back
Honestly the sushi is not a high quality but suitable for all you can eat. With tax before tips, $49 per person for dinner
Never a bad experience here, staff is always friendly and ready to help. Food is fresh and quick to the table. Highly recommend!
Hands down the BEST FRESH SUSHI EVER!!!! Especially the salmon is beautiful and delicious. You won t find fresh salmon like this elsewhere. On top of the food being so delicious and fresh, the service from all the staff is so warm and kind. Thank you
Awesome place!
The best sushi restaurant in Guelph, hands down. Nothing else comes close. The food, atmosphere and customer service are all sublime!
Some of the best sushi I ve had, notably the best in Guelph. Absolutely delicious and the prices are amazing. We had lunch today and now I m so excited to come back for their dinner menu. Service is astounding as well. Prompted service but never overbearing.
We initially went in on a Friday evening and were told upon arrival that the wait time would be 20-25 minutes. We actually waited an 1 hour and were told there still wasnt a table. We overheard the staff saying not to seat us since we were a group of 2 and they would rather seat a larger group. This makes sense, but seeing as we waited triple the wait time we were told, it was quite irritating. After an hour of waiting we just had to get takeout which was not apart our plan. I would absolutely not recommend going here without a reservation, and if you do triple or quadruple the wait time they give you. We also had an item missing in our take out!
The only concern was that the washrooms were worn down, and the rest of the place needed lots of dusting and cleaning. Aside from that, the service and food were amazing .
It was really great! I cannot wait to come back!
Service was super quick. Food was good. Overall great experience.
Love this place for AYCE sushi
Great food but even better service. Definitely would recommend
Great Shushi place. Highly recommend it.
The food was excellent (maybe not the deep fried ice cream but who needs dessert at ayce sushi). The rice to fish ratio was perfect. Everything came out quickly and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be going back.
Food was fantastic and fresh, service was slow at times, and some things never got to the table, though we ordered it, but that doesnt downplay just how amazing the food was. I will definitely be going back. Best AYCE Sushi in town! Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options on the menu Dietary restrictions: Menu is very big with many different things to order, making dietary restrictions generally easy to accommodate. Parking: There is plenty of parking for the number of people the restaurant can hold. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and staff was very easy going with accommodating small children Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps on the sidewalk, and the whole restaurant is one level with low tables and booths
This is the best place for sushi in Guelph hands down
Had a great dinner here. The food is fresh and tasty. The staff here are always pleasant and attentive to our needs.
We went for a birthday dinner and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant is clean and cute, the service was great, multiple staff members brought drinks, and food, as well as removed plates. All round the food was delicious, much better than other all you can eat Japanese restaurants. I really enjoyed their signature Hanami Roll, its sweet and tangy with savory twist, just an all round experience for the mouth.
Do yourself a favour and don t waste your money. They forced us to have the overpriced buffet. They charged me 14 dollars for 1 scoop of Ice cream for my 3 years old son. They said no matter what he eats, he would pay 14 dollars. BE FLEXIBLE !!! Service is garbage, attitude, they didn t take one single plate away and they tried to charge me for service . I paid cash the exact amount.
We visited for the first time yesterday. The AYCE is expensive (likely the 2nd most expensive in Guelph), but they do include tea and soft drinks. The menu has great variety and the food is delicious. Staff were all friendly and helpful with answering questions and offering information and suggestions. Two complaints: 1. the bathroom was not clean that knocked our review down by a star. It should be regularly checked by staff. 2. The music was too loud. Otherwise, we loved Hanami and we ll be back!
Went there with a couple friends about 2 weeks ago. Respectfully staff, nice cozy dining area and clean facilities. The food was good and for a decent price, especially for all you can eat. Not my first time there, the other times were just the same.
We have been to this location several times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. Every time we go we say we are coming back
Best AYCE Sushi in Guelph and its not even close.
I tried multiple items and everything was great.
The food there was phenomenal, tasted great, atmosphere was very calm, relaxing a good get together with friends not too loud and the service there is good
I just ate here, I m sitting in the parking lot writing this review because it was so good! I had the beef teriyaki, a bunch of different sushi, and a few different rolls wow. Everything was yummy, no complaints. Would also like to compliment the staff, so very nice and friendly. Will return!
Wow I was blown away. This honestly has to be the best Japanese restaurant in the city. The quality of the fish. Variety of options and the service was impeccable. I usually don t like to try all you can eat places but honestly this place has got to be the best ayce that I ve ever been to!!!! 10 stars. Highly recommend. Restaurant is very clean, modern and nice ambience. Service is excellent and food comes quickly.
Had a wonderful time with my Sis. The grilled octopus is delicious. A little pricey but only go out once every 3 months. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible but tables need to be a little higher for clearance.
I have only had amazing experiences at Hanami! All of their staff is so friendly and they do their best to make your visit enjoyable. Their food is just as amazing as their service. Everything is always fresh and great quality! By far the best sushi place in Guelph!
They are still following due to covid its only all you can eat and for 2 person it s around $90+ with tax. We and another group were turned away so cant say much.
Took my Mom her for her Birthday lunch and it was her first Sushi experience. My partner and I live on Orangeville and hadnt been to this particular place. Fast and professional service, fair price and SOOOO much selection for those who maybe dont always want rolls They offered mulitple chicken and Thai dishes too. Everything was delicious right down to the final dessert.. DEEP FRIED MARS BARS YUM! Will be here again forsure. Vegetarian options: Alot of variety in veggie rolls!
Superb buffet for sushi lovers.
This is definitely the best sushi Ive had in Guelph, the atmosphere is nice, and everyone is very kind! I especially love the yam cream cheese rolls, takoyaki, and unagi sushi.
Great food and different options available. I don t fully understand peoples concerns for the extra charges in the other reviews here when they waste food. I think some people can learn to pace themselves instead of ordering to much at once. I think all you can eat places often have a lot of waste and I think its a good initiative. overall good experience:)
My go to spot for all you can eat in Guelph! Also everyone I take here likes it just as much as I do
Hands down, the best sushi in Guelph. I typically order out from from Hanami Izakaya, as i dont enjoy all-you-can-eat. The dining is small, but again, i cant speak on the dine-in experience. the take-out is always fresh, and ready when i arrive. the wait for pick -up has always been less than 30 minutes, even at peak times on weekends. highly recommend!
Great sushi! Only sushi place I trust in Guelph
The waiter we had was awesome, very friendly and prompt with service.
Reviews werent lying when they said portions were big, we got the seared sushi combo and the roll was huge. The seared sushi is so good!!
Really good! Best place for sushi in Guelph imo. I ve sat down for all you can eat and done take out platters. The staff is really friendly and responsive! The one time I over ordered I paid a cheap fee and got to bring it home too! Although I read some people weren t able to do that so be careful (:
I ve been so many times in the last year I can t count. This place is the best sushi I have ever had, it s fresh and delicious. The soy sauce they give you isn t the cheap kind and has flavour. The service is top notch. Highly recommend Update : I have now eaten is some of the best a La carte Sushi restaurants in the states and Hanami is still better. I have also recently found out that Im gluten intolerant and they were so incredibly accommodating, removing any tempura batter and giving me a gluten free soy sauce on the side. The people who work here are always incredible. Thank you guys for giving me back sushi date nights!
Hanami used to be our go to but then found the quality went down hill. Our new go to was closed today and we wanted sushi so we gave it another shot. Most of it was pretty good BUT I just cant get over the size of the green and red dragon roll. They were way to big, I dont know who could possibly eat that properly. There was an unnecessary amount of avocado in both, who wants a full avocado in their roll. We have eaten an lot of sushi and never had this problem before. One slice would have been a lot better, bigger isnt always better!
Take-out was delicious! Staff was very friendly and patient with my questions regarding dietary restrictions. Atmosphere is nice, though I only spent a few minutes inside waiting for food. Looking forward to going back and trying their dine-in all you can eat, soon! Dietary restrictions: A surprising amount of their menu is celiac-friendly (gluten free), which impressed me! Theres not a lot of places around Guelph I can eat out. I will be back to eat here again.
probably best sushi in Guelph
Loved it!
Fantastic sushi, always fresh and yummy. Price is totally fair for the quality. Love it!!!
Good food! Salmon quality is pretty decent and presentation is cute. Everything is pretty good, but don t eat their mackerel nigiri, super sour fish. I have a friend who particularly loves mackerel nigiri and they were not a fan. Also when the restaurant is busy, I find service to be a bit slow and it took a while to get our food out.
I ve only ordered take out, but the food is incredible. The rolls are gigantic and the fish is high quality. The cooked dishes I ve had were all also extremely good, which I find rare at most AYCE sushi restaurants. This is the best Sushi I ve had anywhere in the Tri-Cities/Guelph area.
Pictured: salmon roll & Alaskan roll Huge portions, great prices and fresh, flavourful fish! Food
Ordered of website, prices are not worth the food. Rice was undercooked and salmon sushi was brown and mushy. Not happy. Paid 40$ for somthing i couldnt finish. Got the goyza and it was cold as ever inside and stale on the outside. Sauce leaked everywhere not worth it save your money.
Been here before and had great experiences. Yesterday was absolutely shocking. Tablet not working, had to get help from a server to fix it multiple times. But the real issue is I received a glass of water that tasted and smelt like STRONG cleaning solution, tasted and smelt like bleach from a washing machine. I complained to the only non-Asian server, who was appalled and apologized and took the glass. She never returned to my table, I m assuming her management told her not to. Dishes sat there until we paid and left. I expressed my frustrations to who I assume is a manager, and he told me they did a PH test and nothing came back I asked did you smell the glass he said he couldn t smell anything. Not even a 5% discount or a sincere apology. Won t be back, which is sad because I ve enjoyed it there before. If you wanna be mistreated, this is the place for you.
Each dish was delicious & visually appealing! The servers were fantastic as well. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!
The BEST sushi in Guelph!
Ok where do I start? This is not my first time ordering via Uber eats and I cannot be more disappointed!! Tasteless sushi. So bad! The garlic shrimp without garlic and the sauce super runny. So so bad found something on my shrimp too. Pic attached
First all you can eat sushi restaurant Ive been to that offers GLUTEN-FREE SOY SAUCE!!!!! Round of applause and a standing ovation! The food was awesome and fresh. Sizzling hot in the instances it needed to be. Friendly staff! I would totally go again. A friend recommended and I will continue to recommend for other friends too. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free soy sauce
Experience was wonderful, the food was amazing and delicious!
Best place to get takeout sushi in Guelph. They have the best speciality rolls Ive ever had. Highly recommend you try the Guelph Roll and BC Roll. Food
Guelphs best AYCE honestly. And the pricing includes tea or pop! You must try the Beef Teriyaki (comes sizzling!) and their hand rolls (very packed with fish!). They have a great selection, even at lunch. 11/10 would recommend! Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian options
Top food quality as always before and after COVID.
Best sushi in Guelph, hands down. Freshest avocado I have ever tasted.
Good food! Salmon quality is really good. I loves mackerel nigiri . Also I find the restaurant busy a lot since the service and food is so good.
I went here on my birthday as recommended by my cousin since he said it was great. Well not only do I agree, but I say it is one of the best all-you-can-eat Japanese cuisine restaurants in the GTA. The selection of sushi and sashimi was plentiful and delicious! There was takoyaki made so authentic that it reminded me of my trip to Osaka years ago eating at Gindaco. In addition if you want some Chinese-style dishes, they also have it too. The service was fast and polite, with dishes coming in 5 minutes after ordering. The price was reasonable too, since it is all-you-can-eat, the bill for my group of 3 came out just over $100. Definitely will come again and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in having Japanese cuisine! Parking: Hanami Izakaya is located in a plaza so the parking is shared among many stores, therefore during the lunch and dinner rush an empty spot may be hard to find. Try to avoid peak times. In addition the staff has their break from 3pm to 4pm.
Ate there recently. Surely it took so long to serve. My child did eat some of her rice but the server asked us still to pay what was left from her plate and so we took it home. I returned from toilet and we are asked to pay what was left from our plate including scrapped bones from the chicken wings. if we only knew we are going to pay extra $10 we would have ordered more to take home. It ain t worth 15% of tip plus additional $10 and tax of $13. I do not think we will come back very soon, or maybe NEVER, not in this town but will go to usual 168 sushi or knb or spoon or fork instead.
Best Sushi and rolls in Gulphe
The quality of food is different since they changed the ownership. The seafood is not fresh and the rice is a bit too much and too wet for sushi. I won t choose to go back again.
This is truly excellent Japanese restaurant in Guelph, Ontario that I highly recommend! When they saw my comments about gluten sensitivity in my online order, they called me right away to inform me of exactly what was in each dish I had ordered. The staff was courteous, friendly and very efficient. The food is top notch!!! Vegetarian options: There are many tasty vegetarian options! Dietary restrictions: Many of the menu items are gluten free.
Right now my favourite spot in Guelph for all you can eat sushi. The service is quick and the dishes are yummy. My favourite are the salmon teriyaki and the tempura. Vegetarian options: I only ever enjoy vegetarian sushi. I like that this spot has a mango roll my favourite. Something sweet to break up the savoury. Ingredients have been nice and ripe the times that I have been there.
100% recommended! I am a life-long sushi lover. Got take away Sep 18 2023. Saba was 10/10!! Great saba means an excellent sushi restaurant, it is very easy to spoil. It must be treated perfectly. All items ordered were excellent. Also had Hanami Seared combo and Guelph Roll, highly recommended!
Loved the food, the atmosphere was amazing and the customer service was great 10/10 would recommend
One of my favourite all you can eat Asian restaurants! I went with my sister, it was our first time there. We had a quick tutorial and the staff was super nice. The variety of different dishes was great as well as the portions. The seared nigiri sushis are a must try!
Great variety of foods and flavours. Excellent service and efficient food ordering system. Vegetarian options: Plenty available
First time ordering here. I dont usually leave bad reviews, but want customers and restaurant to know. Ill start by saying that I cant speak to many things about this place. The veggie tempura was decent. The salmon sushi was ok. Kinda small, but everything now is. Also thought it got a bit warm while delivered. But most disappointing was the garlic beef Id ordered. I had been craving some tender Asian beef and took ages to pick a place. I will say that it is not a dish I have gotten anywhere before, but I would suspect even if you love / expect an obscene amount of garlic, you couldnt stomach this grossness. It was like a jar of minced garlic had been dumped in. Maybe it was a new chef, maybe they made a mistake. But it was the only thing you could taste. Even in two bites with garlic scraped off, I couldnt eat it. Didnt have other sauce or veggies. Felt like a waste of money and now I have to throw it out. Its beyond salvaging. I have trouble believing typical garlic beef would be this inedible, but as I said, I havent had it before anywhere. Just be forewarned. Esp if youre paying a bunch for delivery app etc.
This was amazing. Its around 37 after tax for the dinner special but if I have friends or family come visit in Guelph this will be my number one suggestion so far. Lowered my rating because we have gone back multiple time and find the wait time of 30 min for our food too much.
As a sushi lover, it is worth the drive to Guelph for the salmon sushi. The fish is fresh and the service is great. Special thanks to Maggie for setting the tone from start to finish. Made sure we had everything we wanted quickly and with high quality. Ill be back.
We put our name down for a table as the wait was 25 minutes. That s fine. 40 minutes later we find out that dining in is only for all you can eat and not a la cart. Really wished there would of been signage or communication surround this as we now wasted 40 minutes waiting on a table in the parking lot and didn t even end up getting to eat
Very very busy arrive early food was authentic and delicious
Far and away my favorite sushi place. Food is great and its the best service of any sushi restaurant Ive ever been too. Would actually move to Guelph for this place
Amazing sushi place very fresh. Great service and the place was very clean and great atmosphere. It s a little pricier but its worth it.
The food here never disappoints. Always fresh and tasty, but the thing that sets this restaurant apart is their servers. They are fantastic. Friendly, fast, efficient and what is even more rare.....they smile! Highly recommend dining here!!
Always love their food, hospitality and smiles.
My favourite sushi place in Guelph
Update: I ve changed my review from 2 to 4 stars. I ve continued to order Hanami sushi but instead of the salmon avocado rolls, I ve been ordering the spicy salmon rolls and they ve been delicious. Hanami has been my go-to sushi restaurant for a few years. Their sushi is usually delicious. However the last few times I ve ordered takeout the salmon avocado rolls have been filled with the fatty end of the salmon. This is not appetizing at all and grossed me out a little. I really hope this doesn t continue or I will have to find a new weekly sushi restaurant.
Excellent food, great selection. Fountain drinks and Green Tea included in AYCE (All You Can Eat) menu. Friendly staff and chill vibe. Best AYCE Sushi spot in Guelph. Can be very busy sometimes. Food
I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen from a sushi place. Probably my first mistake, but I like Hanami, the food is generally really good and fresh. This ramen however, I dont think Ive ever had the displeasure of eating something so vile. The broth, somehow had no salt? Like Im talking the leftover water after steaming veggies would have more flavour. The egg, unmarinated, fine I guess but still no salt. The pork belly, acceptable, but probably needed salt. The veggies, who puts carrots and edamame in Tonkotsu? I mean Im sure theyd be fine if the broth actually tasted good. The noodles are probably the 2nd biggest grievance. It was Mr Noodles. Actually thats an insult to Mr Noodles, they were great value level of mediocre. I stopped eating after more than a few bites, and had a friend to corroborate I didnt lose my sense of taste from Covid or something. Thankfully I also ordered some salmon sushi, which prevented me from going completely hungry, but I couldnt finish it because the disgusting taste of the ramen lingered and ruined my appetite. I write this review queasy and confused, the ramen cost 17.99, so I think for that price and the level of inedible this was, Im not exaggerating. Hanami, take this off your menu. Youre so much better than this.
