Fun place to go for drinks and meet friends. Good food and the regular servers are awesome!

Busy and happening spot, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Busy staff due to the number of patrons but they tried their best under the circumstances.

Always a pleasure to dine in. Great food, love the summer patio, but now inside is good too. What I dont like is music. It is too loud for my liking, you cant talk to your friends at all...but thats the trend everywhere

food was delicious, portion was quite big (especially the fries). we got the fish and chips and vegan burger. the tartar sauce from the fish and chips was delicious, the vegan burger was good, but it didn t come with any sauce so i had to ask for extra mayo and ketchup which they provided. overall, food was satisfying and the atmosphere on the patio was really nice in the afternoon. Vegetarian options: has vegan burger and salads for vegetarian options

A love letter to millennials (in my humble opinion). Delightful experience from beginning to end. From the hostess on the patio to the Maitre d inside, the food, the attentiveness, the wine, and the excellent music courtesy (I learned) of the bar tender on the night I visited; this was a superb experience. Hospitality is an excruciatingly difficult business to be in, and I am in awe of the men and women who can pull it off THIS well. I will be back.

This is one of our go-to spots in Guelph. The food, drinks, and service are always great... Their patio is also awesome. Theyve got a good selection of food, without overdoing it. Their whiskey selection is one of the (if not the) best in town. And the service is top-notch. Love it here!

Was there for first time for Sabrina&Jazmines wedding dinner on 08/06/24, steak dinner yummy, servers and staff can t say enough they were caring, attentive and happy. Atmosphere also very nice so I recommend this place highly and when in area again will go for a bite. Also have a big patio outside. Keep it up guys

I had a re-cooked fish and chip, I can tell from its color and food texture. Serving was great.

Unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. The server seemed disinterested and inattentive, taking forever to bring our drinks and forgetting our orders multiple times. The overall service was slow and lacked the friendly atmosphere expected at a bar.

Im so disappointed about the bar security to treat a family the way they did. Im never going there again or bringing my friends. We had a farewell celebration and with the bar barely full the bouncers let most people in except the girls parents. They had them waiting outside for over 30 minutes and then when they let everyone in except them, the mother wanted to say good by to get daughter and the bouncer not only refused but put his hand on her to push her away. This is unacceptable and so discussing, they should be ashamed of themselves.

do not come here if you are a young female adult. my friends and i came here on a friday night out about 45-30 mins before closing, we had to wait probably 20-25mins in line even though the bar was going to close soon and the line was very short. while we were in line some of the workers or whoever they were, was coming out of the bar and picking and choosing who they wanted to let in even if they were at the back of the line, which was frustrating to the people before them. once we got to the front the bouncers took mine and groups ids all at once which i thought was suspicious and didn t even care to look at them. he almost immediately told us they were all not real and fake even though we were all legal and were very much all our real licenses. they then took them ALL inside and refused to give them back. it took about 20mins of convincing for them to give us the real ids back, as they almost did not give them back. do not come here if u want to wait 30mins to get into the most mediocre bar full of old people and get your real ids taken from you!!

It was a really great experience. The staff is amazing, food and appetizers are great as well. Cant forget the large assortment of drinks! Would highly recommend a stop by either for an evening drink or a nice Saturday brunch.

Went with my wife and a friend. Food was great and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was great when we first got there but then they had a holiday karaoke party which is loud (in a fun way )

Got to the restaurant before they opened at noon and the owner, Richard, was so kind to let me come in out of the cold! The steak frites was exquisite and perfect for a cold day and my friend had a beet salad and declared it wonderfully delicious. Our server was cheery and attentive, though left enough space for a private conversation. NV is our go-to destination for lunch, dinner and drinks...a hidden gem of a hangout right in the downtown core.

I can only speak for the espresso martini, and for a rare-to-find drink, it was absolutely delicious. $29 before tip is a bit expensive but I d do it again.

The bar of the place is actually very pretty, but the food was not. Pizza is not a pizza. Its a flat bread with toppings, and the curls are not curls, are chips. The fish cakes were pretty good, and they are homemade as well.

Within a short time of moving to Guelph, NV quickly become my go to spot for a drink. Anytime your downtown and anywhere in Guelph really this is the place to go and indulge in some adult beverages. Whether your waiting for their patios to reopen or love to sit in some inside corner you know you will be taken care of. Spoiled for choice of beers, wines, cocktails and whiskeys there staff know how to welcome you and reccomend the right form of liquid courage. Shout out to Brigitte & Aldo as they easily stand as some of the best bartenders in town and their weekend djes. Their more balanced customer age demographic means you will always manage to make a friend and find some engagojd conversation. Try their old fashioned (and the burger), you wont regret it.

Best customer service!!! My girlfriend and I decided to grab a last minute bite to eat this past weekend. The sun was out and the patios were open. We are not from the Guelph area so we had no clue what restaurant to go with. We walked in front of NV and immediately noticed their beautiful patio and when we wondered inside we noticed the HUGE wall of liquor, to say we were impressed would be the understatement of the year. We were greeted by a gentleman named Richard who was very friendly and said we would be able to enjoy the patio shortly. We only waited a couple minutes when a table became available (to our surprise) as it was a very sunny day and the patio was where everyone wanted to be. Richard was very attentive with us and was very helpful with suggestions off the menu. He even gave us a little downtown Guelph history lesson which we appreciated. Theres some beautiful architecture in that area. The food arrived quickly and it was delicious. There were two other wait staff working and they were so on top of everything, they also checked in on us. Great teamwork! Anyone thinking of coming to this establishment will not be disappointed. We are already planning another trip back to Guelph, just to enjoy more time and food at NV.

My family and I were meeting halfway in guelph for Mothers Day, and we picked this restaurant since it had vegan options. We were a table of 6 + baby. Luckily, we called ahead and found out they didnt have a high chair for kids. That was disappointing, but we took care of that. Our group ordered a large variety of food, and everyone seemed to be very impressed with how delicious and satisfying everything was. Our picky toddler only eats fruit and the staff were so accommodating with finding what they had. We cant tell you how stress-free that felt. Whoever came to our table to help, order , or clear the tables, we found everyone to be friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely come here again Dietary restrictions: Have vegan options.

The noise level in the restaurant was overpowering. I went to dinner with a friend and left with no voice after basically having to yell all night just to be able to hear each-other. The food was average at best. Pizza was underwhelming, wasn t fully cooked and did not taste good. I do recommend the chips and dip though, 10/10 and great potion size. The calming atmosphere and great service made my experience an overall 3/5. The server was able to make fun of the noise level in the restaurant which was funny.

Magda was the absolute sweetest host! They didn t have seating when we showed up, but she made it work. Magda got us blankets and made us feel very welcome! This is an awesome spot and we will definitely come back.

Had lunch with the family 2 weeks ago at the patio. Food was ok. The staff were very friendly and prices were reasonable. It was a Friday afternoon, so patio was full and had to wait half an hour to get a spot. They kept the fire running to keep us cozy despite cold temperature. Overall very happy about this place.

A couple of nights ago I had a male server whos name is Aiden or maybe Adrian or something. Anyways the entire night we were sitting and waiting for him to come to our table. We constantly had to wave down other servers making their jobs harder all because this lazy guy cant keep up. All of the other servers were extremely nice and helpful. Please consider retraining the other server.

I have never left a bad review in my life but the experience I had at NV kitchen this past Friday was the WORST service I have ever had. Nobody came to our table for 15 minutes after being seated, not even to greet us or bring us waters. I order a margarita in which I was not satisfied with, it was incredible salty and strong, all 3 of my friends agreed how awful it was. I could not find another drink I wanted to order, so I decide not to get another drink and I was still charged nearly $16 for the margarita I did not drink. Never in my life has a restaurant not even a fast food chain charge me for something I did not consume. My friend got a burger, which was also a glorified frozen burger. We left and went to La Reina, the food, drinks and service was much better there. Don t waste your money here, much better options in Guelph.

I ve tried to dine on the patio here twice now. Both times I ve been turned away, with the hostess telling me the patio is full and has no idea when a table will become available. Two tables were open with the option to add a third seat. The hostess would not allow us to sit at either table. We were not asked to be added to a wait list, or asked if we d like to sit at the bar until a table opened up. I ve never been to a patio that doesn t have a wait list, or A SINGLE option for people who are willing to wait for a patio table to become available. No name or number was taken to be notified when a table would be available. We went down the street to another patio where the hostess/servers were way more accommodating and willing to take our business!

Just came in with some friends to get drinks and shared apps but it was fairly busy, server was nice and atmosphere is okay but crowded with the evening rush. Haven t tried much of their food but their drinks are fairly good with a lot of options.

The place was ok. The dj was nice and played our song requests, the staff was not rude but not really friendly either, they were rushing everything and not really engaging with us very much or offering us things like even coasters or glasses for our drinks. Every time we ordered too we had to pay like we were at a dive bar and they thought we were going to skip out on our drinks, have you guys ever heard of opening a tab with a credit card? Then we went to order one last beer and then without ever announcing last call the server said sorry its 2 I cant serve you. Never been anywhere when they dont call last call, I think thats bad bartending, plus its makes your business more money, especially on a Friday night. My brother and I were literally working all day and were just looking to hang out and grab a few drinks cause we dont go out much and have fun. The experience really left a bad taste in our mouths.

In general the service is very good, their waiters and waitresses are very friendly and really care that everything is good, the drinks are quality and they have multiple options, they just dont have a perfect score because of the limited vegetarian options, I wish there was more concern for the meatless menu. Anyway Ill come back to have a good time :)

Food: Mediocre food at best with decent selection of drinks. The food quantity isnt much, and the price is high, but the drink prices are fine. Atmosphere is fine except all the smoking from the waiters in the patio. Read below. Service: Horrible service!!! The waitresses have no idea how to manage or sit their customers at a table. I asked them to sit at the patio, however, no one was sure if there was a waitlist. Once they figured out a waitlist, we were told to sit inside and then only well be added on the waitlist...there wasnt any other way! Wow! You cant simply add your name on the waitlist for the patio...no organization whatsoever. After waiting 20 mins, we did get a seat on the patio and the service is super slow! Our waiter was MIA for 20 mins when we asked for the dessert menu, and then he forgot!! All the waiters in the patio are usually chilling with their friends at the end table and smoking weed. I dont think anyone works there. Just save your money and eat somewhere else. Vegetarian options: Fries Tacos

Let me start by saying the service is really good. The ladies working are very attentive and friendly. The drinks are good. The food is mediocre at best. We ordered fish and chips, salad, a pizza and the calamari. The clamari is battered. So if thats not what you are looking for, stay away. I never assume it is battered unless it says so on the menu, and it does not. I was not looking for a battered, deep fried snack. The pizza crust was a frozen crust, it was awful. My friend was starving and couldnt finish the pizza because it was so bad. The red onion and other toppings were huge chunks that were very hard to eat and visually unappealing. My other friend gave his fish a 5/10. We wont be back.

I stumbled upon NV Kitchen & Bar in Guelph, Ontario, and Im so glad I did. The place has a cool and modern vibe that instantly put me at ease. The food at NV Kitchen & Bar is seriously delicious. I tried their special of the day and it was a flavor explosion. The staff were super friendly and helped me choose a dish that suited my taste buds perfectly. The drinks were great too! They have a nice variety, and I enjoyed trying a couple of their cocktails. Overall, NV Kitchen & Bar is a hidden gem thats worth checking out. The food is awesome, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is chill. Its become one of my new favorite spots in Guelph!

Agruably one of the busiest places in the city and for good reason. Rotating cocktails, friendly staff, modern decor and great food at a reasonable price.

We arrived at 7, and we were welcomed. However seating a party of 5 was a complicated process - we wanted to sit outside and can visibly see seats available. Apparently you need to sit inside before being offered a seat outside... Not sure why to be honest. The servers didnt communicate this process very well between each other, it was quite obvious. The food was mediocre, the service was awful. I ordered a salad, but they were barely any veggies. The fish tacos was soggy, only the kettlechips and deep fried calamari were bareable. No one checked in on us while we were eating. It looked like the servers were having a hang out on their own, at another table. We wanted dessert, and the server said theyd bring a menu, but they totally forgot about us. We got tired of waiting and had to go up to the front to pay the bill. Honestly, this isnt worth your time. Go somewhere else for better food and service.

To start positively, the waitress was attentive and friendly. Thats the only positive in this place. Today, we ordered main dishes; one was a steak, 8 oz, and I am definitely sure it was way less than 8 oz. Another one was pasta with chicken. This was not a main dish for an adult; rather, it was a kids meal. Also, chicken was very sparsely added. I am just wondering why they couldnt be a bit more lavish in their serving. It is a few cents more in expenses, but it pays back as people like me will never go back. Very disappointed.

My first visit with this restaurant and it was a little mediocre. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the service is quick! Unfortunately the food and drink was quite disappointing and felt it was quite expensive for food that we didnt necessarily enjoy. I Unfortunately dont see myself coming back in the future based off my very first visit, I am quite disappointed as well

What a fun little joint in the heart of downtown Guelph. Wings were very good but for me it was being able to get a good meal, cooked to order, made with fresh ingredients and most importantly LOCAL and not a chain. If you order the Chips and Dip app, be forewarned, it s a lot of Chips lol

I had a great time here on Thursday night when I came here for a meeting. We started with the chips and guacamole and antojitos (delicious) and The three of us each ordered different pizzas. I had the hot honey chicken pizza and it was excellent. It s a great mix of flavours, the chicken pieces were the perfect size so that they don t fall off while you re eating it and the mix of hot with the sweetness of honey definitely did it for me. I m a huge fan of Cowbell Hazy Days and was excited to see it on the menu. One of my partners had caesars and they looked very well made. Would definitely recommend coming here. Wasn t too crowded on a Thursday night but I could definitely seeing it filling up on a Friday or weekend. Vegetarian options: One of my partners is a vegetarian and she was very pleased with the food at NV.

Very nice restaurant/pub. They have a solid selection of liquor but I ended up to have a couple nice drafts from Cowbell with a good burger.

Went here for a few drinks on Halloween night. Got a table right away without a reservation. The staff were super friendly and restaurant was beautiful. Lots of drink options and the food was great. We had the pulled pork nachos. They came quickly and were delicious. Will be coming back here for sure.

absolutely AWFUL environment and staff. the bouncers pick and choose who they want to ID and it s not based on age at all. they will make a huge scene outside the restaurant if you don t have an ID and then at the same time will let in and ALSO SERVE ALCOHOL to 3 girls who didn t get ID d at the door OR AT THE TABLE. the worst customer service i have ever experienced in guelph, absolutely awful staff who do nothing but discriminate against young girls based solely on appearance, and not age. i think the bouncers actually have fun gambling against the Liquor control board when they are serving underage girls with absolutely no issues. the best part?? try bringing this up to the staff! THEIR RESPONSE? well the control board has my balls in their hand, squeezing really tight i wonder why?? maybe SERVING AND DENYING based on absolutely NO LOGIC! do you like to get discriminated and embarrassed? rules changing by the minute?? COME HERE!

The newly forming autumn breeze crept up on me like a ghost strikes a mirror. Shivers crept down my spine as the sun set in the distance. I had heard rumors that I could find warmth at a bar with cheap shots, cold beer and even colder women. Anything could satisfy my thirst for warmth and whiskey on a late Sunday evening. Without a name of location I wondered, down streets, up alleys and back towards the square. I found a man, heavily into his powder, arguing that the karaoke he was going to was the bar I so desired. I followed listening to his ramblings of fortune if I recorded his, what would be described as, once in a lifetime performance. But alas, as I entered I soon discovered the lie placed before me. This man couldnt sing, and did not have $100,000 to give me. I left distraught, disturbed and even worryingly so, more sober. I panicked, ran, frantically attempting to find anything to satisfy my craving for whiskey and whimsical people. Nothing. I was alone. The night grew colder, darker and resembling my true self. Defeated I went into the next bar I saw. The hardwood bar planted beside the line of what I could only assume were regulars and drunks. A warm whiskey in front of me and a beer in my hand I had found my home. I have found NV Kitchen and bar.

The drinks were good, but food was overpriced and terrible. I ordered a pasta for 19$ it was underseasoned and bland. It only had a few pieces of asparagus and some cheese. Would not recommend for food.

Had lunch at NV a couple weeks ago. They have a great cocktail menu and we really enjoyed out selections. The food was good but what got them the 5 star review though was the service. I wish I remembered our servers name as she was great. Quick attentive and knew when to check in on us without being over bearing. The best service we have received in Guelph in a while.

Nice patio, great server, good service but the food was lackluster. Beet Salad was 90% boxed greens (a household convenience food), a few quartered beets with sprinkles of almonds and goat cheese and a drizzle of balsamic reduction - If I had this at home Id be ashamed for my lack of effort. Mixed coloured beets with mint and feta would be a good start. The strawberry basil mojito? A bland pink drink. When I go out for lunch I get a ripped off feeling when I could do a better job at home. I know NV Kitchen Bar can do better and I also know they graciously take customers comments seriously. Looking forward to beet salad 2.0

Pretty expensive, but the patio is wonderful and the staff and servers are kind and helpful. Enjoyed.

Kind of stumbled upon this place trying to find some food. We were greeted quickly and sat right away. Our waitress was great, she even asked if there were any allergies in which my friend has an anaphylaxis allergy and appreciated the thoughtfulness. I really enjoyed the vibe of the place, good music, a little on the loud side but not a problem. Our table loved all the food we ordered. I got dusted wings and they were hot and amazing. I really enjoyed it there.

Server was helpful, polite, and very welcoming. Food was great, huge portions, and came out quick. Really enjoyed our meal here, will definitely come back

Great patio! Excellent service! Food was good, portions are not small but not big either. I had the beet salad, it was exactly as expected. We chose NV because they had gluten free and vegetarian clearly marked on the menu plus a beautiful patio. Vegetarian options: Nice selection of vegetarian options. Will be back to try the vegan pizzas. Dietary restrictions: Menu is clearly marked for dietary restrictions. We did not ask about safe protocols for gluten since I only had a salad this time.

Elevated food and drink menu plus great staff have the time of your life in a VIP environment

Everything about this place is great, and I only wish we lived closer. If you like pizza, try the hot honey chicken and thank me later. Edit to add - we LOVE DJ Jinx! The atmosphere at night is the absolute best, and all of the bartenders and servers are really great.

I thought the restaurant was great! We had gone to another restaurant nearby but the service was pretty bad and the food wasnt very good. We can here just for snacks and drinks because we were still hungry but not hungry enough for a full meal. The service was fantastic and the food was great and it was super quick. We just got the cheesecake and the bean dip nachos. But it was great. Definitely would recommend coming here

The pizza was good when I came for lunch a few weeks ago, but the evening atmosphere is absolutely abysmal. The music is horrendously loud; we cant hear our waitress or each other. The lights are set to both red and dim, which makes it very hard to see anything but the very bright television or streetlights across the road. This place is a YES during the day, and a MISS for the pub crawl.

Awesome bar selection. Didnt have food so cant comment. And it closes at 2am when everything was closed by 9pm on Sunday!

Dropped in for a quick bite before an Ohl game. Great atmosphere. Service was good and so was the beer selection.

Brigitte was a phenomenal bartender. she seriously knows her stuff. I ve been to every bar in Guelph and no one is better. Ask for a vesper martini she is beautiful and the best!

We were at brothers brewing co and we called to see if they would do an order for take out. They answered (unlike McCabe s) and went so far as to make an exception to do take out on a night they don t normally. Thank you to the person I spoke with and the kitchen for being so awesome and accommodating! Our food was delicious, we got some antojitos and sesame pulled pork nachos and were blown away. We definitely will be back and this time for a dining in experience!

Another wonderful evening chez NV. I was there on my birthday and again last night. I can say I absolutely loved my experience. In both occasions our service was excellent. Friendly and professional, thank you ever so much.

One of the most enjoyable destinations in downtown Guelph. Staff are always amazing. Food is high quality and of generous portions. And the fancy drinks. The fancy drinks! Some great custom creations here and every single one weve tried weve loved. Street-side patio is slick and has a great vibe. Your date will love it.

Great service and atmosphere !

Sub-standard service. Was ignored and had to continually ask for things like cutlery to eat with, top up on water, the bill. Didn t check whether our food was good. For the over priced food that s mediocre, I d expect better service at the very least.

Good music and a great atmosphere

Good service until we paid the bill, then we felt rushed to leave. Even though it was dead. Music was a little loud. Fries were over salted. The fish part of the fish and chips was great. Delicious tarter sauce too.

Called them last night at about 1130pm told me kitchen was done at 12 which is fine :) I was able to get my very first order in of fish and chips, I gotta say my food was ready and hot when I got there, was definitely a nice meal after work! But there s 1 thing I d change, I d cut down on the amount of salt on the fries :) other than that the fish was great and the tarter and fries were all amazing! Thank u :) gonna definitely be calling again tonight :)
