Restaurant & Pub
Not very impressed with this pub/restaurant on our last visit. Service was businesslike and not really friendly. Food was ok, but portions small and overpriced. When I pointed out that my chair seat was grubby and sticky, the staff person did not apologize. I had indication on my booking that it was a special occasion for a party of four, but there was nothing special about our experience there.
If you’re looking for a cozy place to enjoy food and drinks, this place is a must visit! The wings are delicious, offering a variety of flavors from classic buffalo to more adventurous options like fire breather and apple mustard. Pair them with a cold beer or cocktail from their well-curated drink menu, and you're in for a good time. The staff is friendly, adding to the laid-back vibe. 10/10
Great variety and portions! Also, the first place I've been to where I can hear other patrons complimenting their food while I wait for mine. I am visiting from Toronto with a friend of mine, and we have very different tastes - she likes comfort food and is picky, and I'm a more adventurous foodie. This place had it all! A nice no-frills cheesy mac and cheese for my friend and various options for me. I ended up with the roast beef sandwich with au jus, but there were options like taco bahn mi as well. Everything was delish, and both of us loved what we had. The service was also great - friendly and attentive while respecting your space to eat in peace. The place is clean and has a homey vibe. It's environmentally conscious and kid-friendly.
Sadly, this place has gone seriously downhill. The attached pic shows fish and chips after just one bite of fish and you can see the charred lump pf hard inedible toothbreaking batter I removed, at the top right of the plate. The fish portions are tiny and the fish was dry and unappetising - no wonder, with the batter being so badly prepared and overcooked. The fries were hard too. Honestly, is this mess worth $22? So Katherine White, general manager, replied with an offer of a gift card for my next visit. There won't be a next visit, Kat. Offering a compensation doesn't work for me. The only thing which works is for you to actually do what you say you do, that is supply the quality and value on which you say you pride yourself. You have lost one customer: you cannot afford to lose more.
Came here to celebrate our friends birthday. They have an amazing selection of craft beers here and the atmosphere is very laid back/chill. We sat on the front porch which was great because it was mostly out of the sun. Our server was so nice, she even gave us our nachos free due to us having to ask for more cheese. She also brought out a free dessert because it was my friends birthday. Overall this is a great spot for having a few beers and munchies.
Stopped here in between office meeting to grab a quick lunch. Ordered Caesar salad with chicken strips. Taste - 5/5 Service -4/5 (a bit slow) But a good cozy place to hang out and catch up with friends.
My experience at this pub was interesting to say the least. I wasn’t a fan of their cocktails at all. The half priced wings were a nice touch for the Monday and my partner enjoyed the Buffalo chicken ranch wrap even though it was spicer than anticipated. The seats on the outside patio are not comfortable.
This was my first time at The Wooly Pub and it was amazing. My wife and I were looking for a family owned restaurant with good reviews. Well, The Wooly Pub came up on the search and we decided to give it a try. What a great decision it was. We wanted to seat and enjoy their awesome patio or terrace, but unfortunately it was windy and chilly for our two-year-old son. We were given a table inside and it was great as well. Our food were delicious and we enjoyed very much our meal and the place itself. Their craft beer selection is awesome. We will definitely come back again. Fully recommended 😉😁😎🤟🏻🇨🇦🍁
My favourite pub
Went here for a lunch with my team and the food and service were great. Id recommend to anyone looking for something different, the Wooly is definitely that.
We were visiting from out of town on business. Service was amazing, building is very unique and food was delicious. I recommend the brussel sprouts appy!
Best Pub in the GTA (Guelph Total Area).
Amazing. Wings are great. Chicken sandwich was yummy. A good time
Locally and sustainably sourced, delicious food and many craft brews. Live music and an environmentally sound establishment. Two great outdoor patios. Google wanted an update, and I am delighted to report that everything that makes the Wooly great, is still there and continuing to improve. Amazing beer selection, delicious and reasonably priced food, friendly professional staff, and a welcoming, home -like environment. Wonderful place Another google requested update - same awesome pub! With the winter coming, you can still sit outside, sort of, as theyve got a heated covered patio! Parking: Lots of street parking within a 2 minute walk, as well as spaces right beside the Wooly Kid-friendliness: Theyve got high chairs Wheelchair accessibility: Theres a ramp around the back, by the patio
Unreal from top to bottom everytime. Service is friendly and timely, atmosphere is fantastic and this time I had the beef dip with fries and, no exageration, this is the best sandwich Ive had in years. Bread perfect. Tons of roast beef. Cheese everywhere and the horseradish aoli was spectacular. A must try!
An old favourite, great, beer, great food, great service, great location, couldnt ask for more, and always something new to try.
Vegetarian options: The bahn mi tofu tacos were amazing! Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten-free options are available. Kid-friendliness: When we were there, there were babies and children. They had crayons for kids.
My favourite local pub in Guelph. Good burgers, the specials are always interesting. But what you really come here for is the beer. A number of very good beers on tap, and one of the few places that Ive been able to find that serves casked Real Ale. Their house beers (Harvest Ale and Harvest Lager) are fantastic, and brewed specially for the Wooly by (edit 2024) Wellington Brewery in Guelph. Service is always excellent, but this is a popular place so it can get full quickly. Waiting at the bar for a table is never a hardship. Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options, some can be made vegan as well. Not the focus of the menu but certainly enough to keep those who eat a plant based diet happy. Dietary restrictions: The kitchen will be more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions that they can. More complex requirements would do well to call a day or so before visiting to ensure modifications can be made. Typically not an issue. Parking: In the summer of 2022 The Wooly again has a large tent up in the parking lot to form a Biergarten of sorts. Street parking is available and shouldnt be hard to come by unless there is a large concert or a game happening in town. Kid-friendliness: Though it is a pub the restaurant portion is very kind friendly. Kids menu and colouring sheets are available. Wheelchair accessibility: The back/patio entrance of The Wooly is wheelchair accessible as is the majority of the inside space. Unfortunately there are no accessible washrooms in the converted building.
Always great! Love the live music they have, good food, good service! Try the kombucha . Local, and absolutely fantastic!
Great outdoor patio atmosphere, indoors can get noisy but no worries the patio is heated. Food is incredible and a decent price for the quality though the drinks are a bit pricier than some other pubs downtown
Love the Woolys Vegan menu, the tofu tacos were amazing!! Thank you!! Vegetarian options: the new vegan menu is wonderful, so grateful to have these options!! Food : 5/5 |
Always a good time
Tonight was our first visit to the Wooly Pub and we were not disappointed! Our server, Ed, was amazing, so funny and kind. The food was great, we will definitely be returning. Food
Always a 5 star rating for The Wooly...any day...any time...any drink...any meal! We love The Wooly...theyre like the family we choose!
Nice dinner stop on the way back to the hotel. Waitress was super friendly and helpful in figuring out a couple of things. Pear chicken wrap was delicious.
Bob, the owner supports a movement that is found to be corrupt, that misappropriated money donated to the claimed cause. This movement is not really about caring for a particular group, they have been misused. Just before we were done, we spotted a sign on the wall in the patio BLK LIVES MATTER 24/7 365 DAYS A YEAR. Also this is divisive. It perpetuates that a group is always a victim and continuously guilt the white folks. We do not appreciate your wokeness being pushed onto us when we are out to relax and get away from how the world is spiralling down. My advise to you is, concentrate on giving good value, dont turn your pub into a bad political arena. Many have taken offence and will not take the trouble to inform you and wont be back. Response to owners reply. Your response is most REVEALING about you. You are supporting this? According to a report in the Uk Jail for fraudster who kept charity funds after Black Lives Matter protest. An organiser of a Black Lives Matter protest who used tens of thousands of pounds in donations from a fundraising page to back her expensive lifestyle has been jailed for two and a half years. Saleem, of Romford, east London, previously pleaded guilty to fraud by abusing her position as director of Changing Your Mindset Ltd, by transferring monies to her personal bank accounts and then spending it between June 2020 and September 2021. You cherry picked a review out of many reviews that praised a caucasian that I did not know the name of, but you assumed all the other names were of white people? In fact these were minorities, I praised. So you turn the table around to imply that I am racist! and that I am Caucasian! Just in case you dont realized that Canada and the world is diverse, and you ignoring the rest is RACIST in itself. You dont even need to ask not to return, I will not set foot in your pub ever again.
Awesome service, amazing food. Highly recommend.
Great place to get post ride meal...
Always a great time at the wooly, service is awesome, good selection of beer.
Tasty food & good portion sizes. I had a tiny issue with my order, and our server Riley took care of things very quickly, and without a fuss. She is friendly and attentive. I ll be back!
Busy pub with above average food and the best lemon ginger kombucha for us non beer drinkers.
Excellent variety of draft beers
Great place
I took an instant dislike to the place. For me, it lacked a pub atmosphere. Felt more like a cafe. The wait staff were unfriendly and didnt look at all happy. We were going to eat but quickly decided not to. Theres plenty of choice in Guelph too.
Delicious food, very much enjoyed it here! The options were fantastic, the energy was relaxed and fun and I loved supporting local.
Love the wooly. It is a Guelph institution. Good vegan options. Great patio spots too, front and back. You should stop in for a bite or a pint if you want some local flavour and nice atmosphere
Great steak and mushroom pie! The side salad was oddly salty and soggy but I didn t mind. Unfortunately the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The tables were dirty and the floors and windows were quite dusty. Additionally the lower dining room was super dark at night; we (including our waitress) could barely see the dinner and drink specials on the chalkboard. Service was friendly though!
Classic Guelph place. The food was decent and great beer selection
Perfect
The nachos are amazing! The food was top notch, excellent quality. The servers were lovely, however it did take quite a bit of time. I would go back, I would just leave extra time.
What can I say that has already been said about The Wooly that hasnt already been said. Great drinks, fantastic service and amazing food. Took my girlfriend here while we were visiting the city. We were craving antijos, and suggested The Wooly. We sat down took one look at the menu and knew were going to get dinner as well. We ended up getting a Beef Dip and a Steak and Mushroom Pie She cried over the Beef Dip, she loved it so much. The beef the bread, the just, all perfect. My pie crush was perfect. Nice and buttery, just a bit of crisp to it and the filling was done perfectly. We decided to have their brownie dessert feature as a treat as well. That was probably one of the best brownies Ive ever eaten, so gooey and chocatey and the ice cream with it perfect, and the FRESH whipped cream! It is now the only place were allowed to eat at whike were in Guelph. Absolutely looking forward to next time!!
Good food
Real pub with great beer, great food and great people. Terrific beer selection served up by people who know what theyre about.
Great local spot. Good food and amazing service. Food
Will be back next time Im in Guelph! Loved the old pictures on the walls and the staff were super nice!
We went on a particularly busy night. Food was delicious and the space had the perfect pub vibe. Our food was pretty late and the waiter was kinda rude, but Im chalking that up to how busy it was. Definitely recommend the French Onion Soup!
I ve been to the Wooly three times and each experience was just wonderful. The staff go above and beyond! They are so incredibly kind. The food is also so good, especially the Cobb salad and the chicken sandwich! Highly highly recommend!! Food : 5/5
Got seated pretty immediately upon arriving at the restaurant, but it took our server quite some time to come over to the table. We order our appetizer and drinks once she came over and they came out very quickly. The brussel sprouts were absolutely outstanding with the perfect amount of crisp. The bacon jam & fried onion burger was outstanding and had incredible flavour. The dressing for the green salad was a little underwhelming, lacking any flavour. The chicken/rid combo was pretty good. The chicken tasted like a good home cooked meal and the coleslaw was amazingly crisp and tasty. The ribs were quite underwhelming as well and lacked the love that the chicken had. The Caesar salad was very undressed. Overall a pretty pleasant experience and would go again, with a few things I would change with ordering :)
Great spot, iconic
Great selection of beers. Nice atmosphere. Great staff.
I loved my fish and chips. The coleslaw was really good.
Great food! Prices are a bit high, however worth every dollar! Friendly staff
Excellent birthday bash and entertainment at The Wooly Pub with One Reason! Great staff and food!
Great, long standing pub in downtown. Servers are amazing. Food is great. And a fairly decent gluten free selection. And drink menu to fill days.
I really liked the food, but it could use a little more seasoning! Otherwise it was an awesome and homey experience!!
Absolutely atrocious food been sick from there along with my whole work party, also 3 my family members sick from eating here 2 weeks ago and now one of them in hospital with salmonella poisoning .do not eat here. Couldn t even cook fries correctly
the nachos here are amazing!! small size is perfect for two people. love the patio vibe. :)
Awesome craft beer selection. Nice enclosed patio in the back. Might have to go again today!
The server wearing the big yellow knit hat needs training- we were sat, waited a while with menus off to the side since we already decided on our order, and she just looked at us and walked right by. Didnt even bother to say Ill be right with you or even acknowledge our presence. We just stood up and left.
Delightful pub with a tasty cask ale flowing
Ordered the fish and chips. Fries were undercooked, not the hand cut, double dipped fries they used to serve. Coleslaw was coarse chopped and dressing was barely detectable. Overpriced for what you get.
Just popped in for a drink. Tons of people there enjoying the end of the week.
Service was fine and beer selection good but the food is pretty bland and boring in general, unfortunately. There were six of us and all of us had different dishes. We all agreed they were just meh .
Had a good time. Was part of a group so did not want to complain about my meal. Being a special of the day I expected better. Still, I had fun and would go again.
Great place to chill, have a drink, chat with friends and great food. Will be back in the summer.
One of the iconic places for a beer in Guelph. If you order the onion rings, bring a friend, its a big order. Try the Bellwood Cherry Sour for an alcohol free alternative.
Loved it! They had half price wings on Monday and we had a sticky pudding with ice cream for dessert it was delicious. The servers were all very upbeat and polite. I will totally go back.
Update: After a not so great first experience and the manager reaching out and providing an incentive to give Woolly Pub another choice we finally made it back to give it another go. This experience was 100% better! Our food was hot, tasty and service was great. We had the Whipped Feta and Squash Dip (so flavourful!), chicken wings ( nice size!), and Fried Brussel Sprouts ( nicely done and tasty!). My friend and I are already planning a return visit for drinks over the Whipped Feta and Squash Dip. Definitely a better experience and I have adjusted my stars to reflect todays visit. You must check them out! Visited the Wooly before attending an event at The River Run Centre. First, there is no air conditioning in the building (old house) and reservations are recommended (we had reserved). The menu is limited. We asked the server for her opinion on the 2 choices my friend and I were interested in. We asked about the Pickerel and Chips and the Chicken Tenders and Fries (there was nothing else on the menu that interested us). The server said both were her favourites. She said the pickerel was fresh that day from Lake Erie and the chicken tenders are made fresh in house. So I ordered the fish (comes with 2 pcs) and my friend ordered the chicken tenders. The meals looked great when placed in front of us. The fries were REALLY salty, the chicken tenders were very tasty, the pickerel...STUNK! It smelled fishy, tasted fishy and the texture was gross. I have had fresh pickerel in Port Dover and it NEVER tasted like the fish at the Wooly did. My friend tried it as well and she has worked in the seafood restaurant industry and her comment was the pickerel was old, NOT fresh today or, it may have been fresh in the morning but wasnt stored properly during the day until served. We brought our concern about the fish to the server and she just re-iterated that it had been brought in fresh that morning. No manager came to the table to enquire about our concern and there was no adjustment made to the bill other than the discount they offer when showing proof of attending the River Run Centre. We definitely wont be returning to the Wooly Pub. It might be an alright place to go if you like beer though, they have lots to choose from.
Not a place a person of color should visit. They make you feel like you don t belong there
I met my wife here five years ago today for our first date (her recommendation). Every year we come back to celebrate with great food and great service. We love the Wooly! Thank you for being so great.
chicken tenders awesome but sometimes the fries got too much pepper
We loved sitting on the patio with our pup sipping local draft. Service was excellent. Will be back :)
I havent been in Guelph for years and I walked into the Wooly yesterday and it felt like a warm hug from the past. The food was good but the atmosphere makes the Wooly feel like you are home.
Good old Woolwich Arms, have been there a few times over the last few 30 years. It had been awhile, and it was as good as always. Friendly staff, great food. A Guelph institution.
Loved the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food. Indiana jones was playing and life was good.
I had the Fire Breather Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was tasty! My friend and I visited the restaurant to hang out and catch up. Our server had checked in with us to take our order and we weren t ready. I mentioned that my friend and I had not seen each other for some time and that we were catching up, and our server expertly walked the line of being available, but not intrusive: a hard feat to accomplish. I ve visited the Wooly before and will continue to be a patron there. Great place! 4 stars for atmosphere, only because it was drafty where we were seated and I felt chilled. However, we did not ask to be moved, and I am sure that they would have seated us elsewhere had we asked.
Best dinner spot in Guelph with a great beer list. Wish the pints were cheaper than $9 but cest la vie au Canada
This place is my reference for what I consider a good place.
Nice lunch
Great local Guelph Pup. The place to go to get a true neighborhood pub experience. The Wooly has been a staple for all dads and families for years. Get the salt and pepper wings
Wooly Pub was great and the service was quick, friendly, and superb. I also really liked the home-y feel it had, so I would definitely recommend this place for any group functions! Food was great as well.
Cozy place with friendly service. Pub grub and comfort food made with local, healthy Ingredients Vegetarian options: Tikka coconut curry was a delicious veg option
Great selection of craft beer Friendly staff. Great food and a good kids menu as well. Food
Had one of the best sandwiches Ive ever eaten, will be back for sure. Great beer selection too!
A patron for 35 years - a honest pub with good brews, tucker, service, atmosphere & reasonable value for these expen$ive time$!
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time, finally made it & the meal was absolutely fantastic & Michelle provided exceptional service. Will definitely be back!
Good pub food, with locally sourced ingredients. Menu options are fairly standard pub fare, better made than most pubs, but lacking anything to make the food truly exceptional. Great selection of local craft beers, with a regular lineup plus a number of rotating taps.
Always fun, great selection of brews. Food is yummy. Fun atmosphere to hang out and enjoy. The patio is great and we always have a good time here. A favourite place to walk or bike to for an afternoon or evening of fun, food and friends,
I got food poisoning here from eating the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I do not recommend this place. EDIT: Ive sent off an email and well be communicating now. EDIT 2: Nothing happened.
Great place to chill with a few friends. Great pricing on drinks and food. Party of 4 was >200 for us, with everyone eating and having about 2 drinks each. +an appy. If I had one note, its that it can get a bit loud in the evenings so if youre trying to chat it may not be the perfect spot. Pretty damn close though Vegetarian options: Some vegan/vegetarian options
Great food. Everything our table ordered was exceptional. Server was very friendly and explained everything well. When the salad I had ordered they had run out of their house dressing they offered to make a different dressing for me or sub out the salad. The new dressing was amazing! Not to mention they are a carbon neutral pub! Highly recommend checking this place out
I ve been here many times over the years. I go for the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. Always great. The last time I went, unfortunately, the veggie burger was under cooked. I hope it was a one-off experience and that my next visit the burger will be cooked to perfection. My partner ate very well and was happy with his meal and beer.
As ALWAYS- Atmosphere was amazing. Service was great. Drinks were plentiful and delicious. Burgers-meh. They were quite dry and we felt that we needed to force the last bits down. Some left theirs. But- the fries were crispy and very good. Fish tacos and nachos were the star of the night. Very, very good. Also- a suggestion to have a better selection Of deserts. We really wanted something (especially those of us who had the burgers) and we got one of each. Very small to share and did not hit the spot but we didn t go to the Wooly for dessert so that would not affect us returning. Dietary restrictions: They had a good selection of GF, Veg and Vegan options.
Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere and great service provided by Marc. An eclectic menu provides a lot of interesting choices. A must try restaurant.
My beef sandwich was incredible! Best Ive ever had.
Best place in the city of Guelph were socializing and great beer and food
Great chicken wings
Great sticky toffee pudding!
Ah, I know
Overpriced Craft Beer, food substandard. Service was okay, she was very high strung, as she buzzed in and buzzed off without ensuring we had any other requests. Hence we buzzed off to go eat better food elsewhere. Didnt take pictures as it would tell the story behind the dry sweat potato fries and the expensive Craft Beer, yet the bill would
Lovely little spot in downtown Guelph that serves the most wonderful burgers and amazing local craft beers.
Really friendly servers and prompt, attentive service. Will be back!
Visiting Guelph, decided to try out this pub. We were very disappointed. Nachos arrived at our table with unidentified toppings, they looked like a pile of mush, they were also covered with a terrible tasting cold sauce. This also made our nachos cold and soggy. The antojetos were covered with the same terrible cold sauce. Again cold and soggy antojetos .Need I say more. It was an awful experience, we wont return or recommend. Mary.
Good place, great service
I went with a friend and we ordered the chicken tenders. The plate was large and came with fries and coleslaw, however it was all very salty to us both. I recommend reserving and sitting outside, since inside it can get very loud. There is no noise insulation. Food
Incredible food and even better service!! 22 beers on tap!
Best pub ever!!
Love the service and the atmosphere. Ordered the Ceasar salad and it was very disappointing. It tasted completely like Dijon mustard was used as the salad dressing. It was very potent and was far from a Ceasar. My son said it tasted like Wasabi lol.
Food was disappointing. Used to be better tasting and more generous portions
Great food, great service! I recommend the Beef Smokey
We came in with 11 people, they accommodated us really well. Danielle engaged with our kids amazingly and brought the food really quickly as we had to head back to an event. The food was great and the team had a lot of patience. Thank you so much, well book ahead next time though Vegetarian options: They have some great salads, I loved the fries Brussels sprouts, and the fried rice has a tofu option. Kid-friendliness: Danielle engaged amazingly with the kids. She asked beforehand whether the kids are crayon age, so as to not offend them with the kids menus. And their drinks came in nice glasses. The options were diverse and good.
Great service, great beer, great food. But also, a dog friendly patio! And when I say friendly, I mean welcome :D
Food was meh. Not exactly meat pie I knew. service was good :)
The service was friendly and efficient. The house lager was very good. The falafel wrap and the cheddar burger were delicious. The caesar salad was excellent and quite large. The tomato soup was also excellent. This would be a favorite place for us if we lived in the area. Parking: A few parking spots in the rear, but otherwise on-street parking.
Took my critial mother here. She loved it. We came a few minutes early, and they sat us down even tho we were there technically before opening. Server was friendly and helped us with the amazing drink selections. The food was amazing and I would go back just for the house made hot sause! we both had burgers, mine was a veggie burger and it was so filling and delicious. But the best part was how inclusive this place is. They had a Black lives Matter sign. This might seem small to most people but it was huge for my mom and us, we felt so included and welcomed, and were already discussing how we will be back. No matter who you are, I recommended the wooly pub. you will be treated with respect, the most delightful food and more than enough drink options to choose from!
Very enjoyable. Great food and a huge beer selection. Patio is great for any sized group. Service was great as well. I will return!
My go to location to relax and have a beer with friends
Excellent customer service and delicious food
Love the Wooley! Excellent beer menu (an extra cider choice or two would be a bonus). Great food. Even better service. Favourite spot to go to on a Sunday afternoon for live music. Dietary restrictions: They have some delicious carb free options on their menu. The deep fried brussel sprouts are so good!
Always a great experience at the Wooley
Amazing place Was visiting from Calgary and loved the place cozy and amazing food and service! Food : 5/5
Visited late Saturday night, ordered fries and chicken wings. Fries were burnt and extremely dry, absolutely unpleasant to eat. Wings were tiny and dry as well. Never tried worse pub food than at this place. Considering the price we paid for those 2 dishes it is a scam. There was also loud live guitar music, just something to consider.
Guelph s premiere neighbourhood downtown pub. Never a bad decision to spend time here, with groups big or small, any time of year.
I love the beautiful old house this pub is in. The burger was good, and the fries were okay. The back patio was a great atmosphere.
Lovely evening with a bunch of people. Thanks to Poodle and Sparkles for looking after us.
The cheapest beer on the menu was $9.00. The majority of the others beers were anywhere from $10.00 to $13.00 for one pint?! Most of the beers were some sort of fermented compost beer that a hippie made in their backyard. I don t know how a place can have prices like this and get away with it. What a scam. To top it all off, the waitress made a rude comment about my wife s dinner which made us feel unsettled for the rest of the meal. Never again.
Excellent food, service, and prices. Had a nice cold beer while picking up my takeout order.
Really good service, follows all the COVID 19 protocols appropriately. I ordered the traditional burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was pretty average the meat was a little dry but it was still good. The sweet potato fries were delicious!! Everything you are looking for in a sweet potato fry and more the kimchi mayo dipping sauce was spectacular definitely recommend getting the sweet potato fries if you go
Waited an hour for food.
This was our regular place to go when we lived downtown 20 years ago and then we moved to the South End and don t visit as often but we took our daughter and her boyfriend last night and so happy we did. The food, the selection of beers, the patio and service was all amazing. We had a great time. Vegetarian options: Some Nice options. The chickpea and lentil burger was delicious.
The falafel wrap and fries were quite good. The falafel is a unique chickpea and lentil blend with a good texture and the garlic dressing is vegan (or so I was told). Its very disappointing how few vegan options this place has, while claiming to be carbon neutral and sustainable. I dont know how a restaurant can be carbon neutral or sustainable when every dish has animal products in it. The only as presented vegan options are the fries and a chocolate tart. None of the meals are, but they are willing to accommodate. Please provide more vegan options and reduce the amount of animal products on your menu! Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options but no full vegan meal options.
Great service. Hope they bring their curry special as a menu regular
Always a positive experience!
Been here a few times and the food is always good. Funky little spot! Fantastic beer selection and a good menu. Had the Nashville chicken sandwich. As warned, it is spicy but not too.. Not exactly like a real Nashville chicken sandwich, but still very good.
I took my 2 friends from out of town here, the food was quite good and the services was one of the best. One of my friends ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The server did let them know that the sandwich was going to be quite hot just to make sure that they where going to be ok with it, they thought they could handle it so they ordered it. After 2 bits they could not handle it the server brought out milk for my friend to handle the spice and brought my friend some chicken tenders so they had something to eat that they would enjoy. Nether the sandwich or chicken was charged to my friend, they where only charged for thier drink and fries, so 10/10 service.
The staff are awesome, but the food is disappointing and very expensive.
Good pizza and wings.
Chicken fingers were fantastic! Tasted homemade.
The batter on my fish was hard and the fries had so much pepper on them that we couldnt even eat them. Even the kids fries were covered in pepper. Very disappointing. We were celebrating my nieces birthday and there was no mention of it. We will not be back.
Great patio. Great eats. Great service.
Lots of great options on tap. Service is 10 out of 10.
AMAZING VIBE, FOOD, AND STAFF! Wheelchair accessibility: Large ramp in the back up to the covered patio area Food : 5/5 |
AMAZING food and atmosphere!! A diverse and friendly staff. We were lucky enough to have come during the tail end of the Guelph Jazz Fest and a great band called GUH was playing. We sat on the covered patio as it drizzled a little outside. I ordered the old cheddar bacon burger, and a steamwhistle with sweet potato fries that were nice and crispy (not soggy how most places make them). The burger was full of flavour, moist and crumbled in my mouth like a good hand made burger should. My partner had the blackened burger and it had a great kick to it with the seasoning and jalapenos.. she loved it. The Black Lives Matter sign posted on the wall made us feel even more welcome. Its had us talking about Guelph for a couple weeks now. The surrounding stone architecture and local antique market with 100 vendors makes this place an ideal weekend getaway from the condo hell that is Toronto. Thanks Wooly Pub, well be back !!!!
A great place. Great food and great service!!
They have a great selection of local drinks and food. I had the burger with sweet potato fries which came with a sage aioli. Never had that before and it was really good. For a Sunday afternoon lunch and cider it had a really nice vibe.
Love the food and the atmosphere of this old english style public house. So grateful that its within walking distance from my house. One of my go to places in Guelph
beloved old fashioned pub, a great place to go for a few drinks and enjoy the live music and local buzz.
Feels like your eating at someones house. Its much too loud to even have a conversation with the people at your table. The food was gross. Frozen fries, frozen fruits in the drink. The kids meals portions are pitiful honestly its so strange theres more beer options then food.
Great place for a meal or just a pint. After a long week, I enjoy hanging out with friends and a pint or two on the patio. Staff is fantastic, and the menu is full of great selections. Great ambience inside as well.
Phenomenal staff to help you enjoy your stay with an incredible list of beer always changing and to top off your stay, order something from the delectable menu! Kid-friendliness: My son loves the kids menu and the coloring contests!
We enjoyed our food and time here! Definitely looking forward to coming back!
Great place for that pub type atmosphere. Staff are friendly and food was good. Would visit again
Super fun pub with extensive menu and drinks! Great spot, gets busy so book on popular evenings. Large list of beers including non alcoholic options and servers were attentive and friendly. Food
Really awful, for even pub grub.
I ve loved the Wooly Pub since the first day I came across it two years ago when moving to Guelph . The food is amazing aswell as the service. They regularly change their menu and always have specials on aswell that will never disappoint, along with an ever changing local beer tap list . If you like spicy I highly recommend the spicy chicken sandwich.
If you like warm and casual this is the place to go. Hearty, comfort food with a healthy twist. Nearly endless beer menu.
