Reap the benefits of curries: Taste and health! A "marvellous Aromatic mixture of freshly ground herb and spices," Unlike Indian curries, Thai curries are usually paste and are enhanced by combining fresh herbs and spices. Curries are often hot and very good with building tolerance to spicy food. Curries are said to be high in vitamins, rich in protein and increases metabolism. All curries are served with a side order of steamed rice.
Food was okay. Ordered a chicken dish and it was all skin and far. Very little actual meat. Service was extremely slow. Had to practically dance to get an employees attention for a drink (didn't care what employee at this point). Waited over 20 minutes to get the bill.
Ok so I need to share this experience from last year. I placed an order via phone and was having a hard time finding this restaurant to pick up my food. A guy from the restaurant asked me my location and I described a nearby restaurant which was a “landmark” I could see. He told me to park by the restaurant and an employee from red papaya would walk all the way to hand over my order while I comfortably sit in my car so I don’t get lost. Like who does that in this day and age?! I was so impressed and honestly it’s now our go to for take outs. Sorry for posting this so late but your restaurant needs to be recognized Such great service and food! Thank you so grateful! 🙏 ❤️
We celebrated my wife’s 40th surprise party and it was a huge success. Our band Freedom Train made the night spectacular. Jill and her staff was excellent, thank you. We highly recommend Red Papaya for any events or parties.
You wouldn't think a Thai place would have a really really solid burger and fries, but here we are and for twenty bucks you get a burger and fries that beat most specialty burger places offerings. I can't speak to the other menu items but I've heard very good things and am looking forward to trying more from here.
I absolutely love this place! The Tom Yum soup here is my all-time favorite—flavorful and perfectly balanced. The staff is warm and welcoming, which makes every visit enjoyable. The food is not only delicious but also reasonably priced, with generous portions that always leave me satisfied. On the photo is appetizer size of TomYum soup for just $8 and $2 steamed rice that make absolutely full. Highly recommended!
Great location for authentic Vietnamese and Thai food. Service and dishes were excellent. Thank you.
The food is fantastic, but their live entertainment is amazing! Great supporters of local musicians, allowing promoters to put on a wide variety of entertainment, from open mic, metal and punk rock, even wrestling! Always a good time here!
A bit of a hidden gem to non-Guelphites. Their menu has a lot of variety, yet my food tasted incredible! I recommend any of the curries! I came early evening and the place was very quiet. The staff are very friendly and the place is clean. The lighting is just right. Not too bright, and the sunlight from the mall also filters in too. There is live music some nights so I would like to return for that!
A delicious meal of tom kha soup and pad thai! Live music after 8 p.m. too!
Food was good. It was my first time trying Tai food.
I usually get take out but I LOVE the Singapore noodles. Staff is also so friendly and fast! I find the restaurant is pretty empty during the day and I ve never been there at dinner time.
Very good, like it.
Great food and music!
Food is amazing. Service was decent. They host fun events .
Honestly, best Pad Thai I ve had in a long time!!!
Everytime I eat here the food is amazing. I have become really fond of their soups especially. The tom yum The staff are very friendly and attentive.. And I might add the music scene on the weekend here is top notch if you are into heavy metal/thrash/punk and everything in between. Which for me is 2 Thumbs up!!!
This place is absolutely amazing ! We order from here often and they have never let us down !!!
Best pad Thai, can taste the tamarind and full of veg. Best green curry, so many restaurants have bland green curry but this one is actually spicy. Only complaint is the wheelchair washroom cannot be accessed by wheelchair users, there is a turn handle instead of a power door. It is also challenging for moms with strollers. I hope Quebec mall can help with this because otherwise the location is really nicely accessible.
Best
No A/C Very slow service and a lot of the drink menu not available.
I was very sceptical about this place because I had the feeling they didnt know what they want to be: A bar? A Thai restaurant? A Wrap/Sandwich place? A Vietnamese restaurant? I usually avoid such places. However, a friend convinced me to have the Pho there. The staff was very friendly. To my surprise: The Pho was very good. One of the better pho places in Guelph! My wife loves the Pad thai as well. So, I can recommend the food.
Todays meal not at all up to usual standard: chicken sate were tough and almost inedible, and Thai bites had almost no sauce.
Awesome shrimp pad thai!! And the bands later were great!
We went for a live music performance and dinner. A nice experience despite some issues. Staff seemed to have no idea of the music logistics despite it being the 2nd night for the band which resulted in us arriving 2 hours before the band started. Food was very good.
GOT FOOD POISONING AND THREW UP! They used pressed chicken breast is all their chicken dishes. I was there a few days ago with my family. Absolutely horrible service even though the whole restaurant was empty. The servers would just sit at the bar and not check on us. Do not come here at all.
Great local bands, and more! Clean and cozy Parking: Theres the side mall entrance to the restaurant where theres 6 floors of parking an elevator aswell, theres also out front where you would walk a block to park Kid-friendliness: Big restaurant, kids are always welcome before 9 pm
Easy access to beer in the quebec street mall.
Had the pad Thai and yellow curry, they were both pretty good! Not super authentic but still very tasty! Kinda disappointed they dont have any Thai beers in stock though. I also heard they have wrestling events here! I cant find any details on it though, but I definitely want to come check it out. Sounds like an awesome vibe. Update: attended the wrestling event and it was pretty rad! Also got the Thai chicken bites but it was mid
We booked a reservation on Monday for a Friday night meal with my family to celebrate a birthday. Everything seemed fine, we even called to push the reservation back by 30 minutes on the day of, and they were very accommodating. We arrived on time for our meal and noticed the restaurant was PACKED full of people, but the tables were stacked on top of each other. As we approached the entrance, a full-sized WWE-style WRESTLING ring came into view. We were turned down at the door because, unbeknownst to us, it was fight night for an amateur wrestling entertainment group. I was disappointed that we didnt get to eat here, and disappointed in the service, but the atmosphere was electric and at least I got a good story out of it! I will try to eat here again soon so I can leave a more accurate review of the food and service.
I attended a Troyboy Entertainment Show here and it was hands down, the best pad Thai I have ever had And the mango salad was incredible Thank you for an amazing evening
The service was warm and courteous. After having what I thought was a wonderful dairy free alternative for Vietnamese coffee, I found out it was made with condensed milk. Needless to say, after specifically asking for no milk for dietary reasons, this is very disappointing. On a positive note, the fresh tofu rolls were very good.
We were there with a group of guys and it was service to the roof. Highly recommend Food
Very consistent food. Tasty and always fresh. Not too busy, and prices are decent. Seafood drunken noodles are a must try.
Luv this place!!!! Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating every time I used to bring my 3 small children. In fact they helped keep them busy and have fun while they were there! Wow! Wheelchair accessibility: Its in the Quebec Street Mall. So there is accessible doors and the restaurant is large and open only issue I think is there are a few spots where you have to step down if youre walking no ramp for wheelchair in those spots
I always order delivery from this place, and the food is absolutely fantastic! Tastes amazing, is always hot and fresh, and the price is incredibly reasonable for the amount of food you get. I always have enough for 2 meals! Highly recommend, definitely a favourite!
Get ready for MASSIVE portions!! Great prices for what you get. Definitely my favourite Thai place in Guelph, but prefer take out to eating in. Can t go wrong with the pad thai.
My favourite spot for pho in Guelph!! I absolutely love this restaurant and order delivery often which is always carefully packaged. Ive never had any problems here and Ive dined in here quite a bit as well. Ill be coming to this restaurant for as long as they stay open!! The rest of the menu is great too, I love the spicy shrimp and get it almost every time I go. Couldnt recommend this restaurant more.
Food was great, but came out 35 minutes past the pickup time (the store was not busy at all) and they forgot to include 2 peanut sauces (which cost extra) to our order. This is the second time in a row that our order has been significantly late, so we likely won t be returning for another frustrating experience.
Probably one of the worst Thai restaurants Ive been to... It was very overstayed and the lettuce tasted like it hadnt been washed. Wont eat here again...
I have been a guest on a few occasions and have every time had a terrible experience. I am a wheelchair user and the 3 times that i have been, i have been actively ignored. The two most recent examples are when i went in for a take out bubbletea and sat in the entrance way when it was not busy for 10 minutes before someone came over to serve me. The bubbletea itself was fine but the service was anything but. The most recent issue came when i was at a function and was there early and i wasn t even offered a glass of water despite being there for over 3 hours. I realize i could have said something but everyone else was served with courtesy and respect whereas i was not. I was actively ignored and dismissed. As a Guelph disability advocate for the last several years, i cannot recommend this place for disabled residents. I have not felt this disrespected in my 6 years of living in Guelph and especially since working with multiple businesses and others to improve accessibility. Wheelchair accessibility: In my experience as a wheelchair user, i have felt actively ignored and dismissed.
I always love their food. I also appreciate the gluten friendly options on the menu.
I went to for lunch while I was in Guelph. The service was great and they had so many options. They have a good variety for their kids meals. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were good. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options Dietary restrictions: Able to accommodate vegan diets Kid-friendliness: High chairs available
Great live music/open mic event every Thursday! Very positive atmosphere. We loved it!
Nice plants
I went for music weekends event. I get that it was busy at the time but I ordered a soup and it never came at all and servers werent even asking our table if we needed anything although other tables had attention paid to them servers were ignoring us. . Had to go to the bar and wait in a line to get drinks and even the bar staff were actively ignoring people waiting to order.. Theres a reason I havent been here in 10 years or so.
Love the food here. Especially their stir frys. I definitely recommend.
Late delivery by 20min, missing 1 order of drunkin noodles, refused my request of refund and lukewarm food.
Got the Mango Curry with Chicken and the fresh beef rolls. Honestly not that good. I was excited to try it because I love Thai but it had no flavour at all. The peanut sauce had some flavour to it but it wasn t amazing and didn t really work with the mint stuff. It was so wet that it was more like a soup. That and the pop was warm. Don t know if I d ever come back.
Had the mango stir fry, was fairly tasty, but the mango was far from ripe and really made the dish less enjoyable, it was also very watery. The vegetables were good and generous portions of chicken enabled me to rate this a 3
The most inconsistent restaurant. Ive been here a few times because when its good its really good but its so hit and miss Im not bothering you waste my time and money anymore. My most recent experience I ordered tofu pad Thai as I am a vegetarian. There was tofu but it was packed to the brim with chicken. There was at least 4x more chicken than tofu in the dish. When I requested a refund on the damaged dish I was told I wasnt eligible for a refund (?) This is my last straw as I could have gotten seriously ill if I ate the dish
Minor mix up on delivery, but quickly sent out missing items. Food is ALWAYS great. Service is ALWAYS good.
The food was okay, I would not recommend the chicken pad thai and calamari. Beautiful place and kind servers though.
This was my first time trying thai food. I tried Pad Thai and spring rolls and loved both the dishes.
We went for dinner with friends , the resturant is inside the mall and with lots of sitting space . It is a bar and resturant , so be prepared for a slow food service. The staff was friendly and pleasant. We ordered Chicken Satay and Salty Calamari as starters, it was very taste and good portion for 3. For main course we had Chicken Pad thai,it was good ( not excellent ), with good amount of chicken and tofu , the portion size was again good . I will visit the place again.
Best fresh rice paper rolls, peanut sauce is yummy!
Waitress was very pleasant, Food was awesome, Clearly Ill return.
Nice spot with cold beer...I hear the Vietnamese Coffee is fantastic...looking forward to trying
We order takeout and delivery from Red Papaya frequently and they rarely disappoint. Only occasionally do we notice that the quality of the ingredients is not consistent, but this is few and far between. Love their noodle salads and their soups are amazing - all of them! Good value for the money, happy to continue supporting this restaurant.
A wonderful hidden gem located in the heart of downtown. The pad Thai is a must try for any Thai food lovers and the portions are huge. (Can easily feed 2 people with 1 order) Highly recommend checking it out if you re a Guelph foodie.
I got the large pho soup takeout, and wow. The ingredients were extremely fresh and the broth tasted amazing. I got the large because I was extremely hungry but even then I wasn t expecting the portions to be so big! I had lunch for another two days. Delicious food, definitely my new go to Thai food place in Guelph for takeout.
The food is very good, both Thay and local. On Thursdays they have open mic, live music and the prices are affordable
Picked up two orders of soups - the size of one was wrong, the types of broth were not indicated and the chicken we payed for was not included. It was a really disappointing meal. Worse yet they did not respond to my email. That makes me think it was not a fluke and they don t care.
Food is good. The problem is you can never get through on the phone lines or there s way too much noise in the background.
Red Pap rules! Sometimes, the servers are a bit confused... Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp Food : 5/5 |
Only ever had take out, but the food is always spot on. They clearly put a lot of thought into keeping their takeout food fresh.
Desperately needs a manager. Tables are uncleared, staff are generally confused about the menu and drink selection, and items leave the kitchen at random intervals. Would have loved to eat with my wife instead of watching her. This brand used to be a quasi-staple in Guelph and its fallen very far from its former glory. Always seems to be a gong show, but manages to spit out OK food. Could be turned around by someone who knows how to run a restaurant ... but wouldnt recommend in its current state. Lots of better places in town!
Awesome music set by Taylor Moore!
Was there for lunch with some friends. One of them is disabled , and the restaurant is very inaccessible for those with disabilities. The staff themselves were incredibly inefficient; it took us around half an hour to get our cheques to leave. During the meal, someone was obviously filming us (hiding his phone *with the flash on* behind the menu, pointing it at us!) and when staff were alerted, they brushed it off because they were a regular . If you see a man in a beige suit with a Guelph Storm scarf, yellow shirt, with white hair, be warned! He might be recording! We all felt very unsafe and uncomfortable, and we will not be returning; if I was anyone reading this review, I d run for the hills before paying a visit here. Wheelchair accessibility: Absolutely laughable, with very little options for disabled people
Great bands on Saturdays
If I could give this location a zero star I would. We went to the Guelph downtown location on Friday before a storm game. It was the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant ever. It was busy, which we knew it would be. But it took an hour and half for 1 of 4 dishes to come and 1 hour and 45, for 2 of 4 dishes to come. While waiting we were asking our server if the food was coming as other tables that arrived after us were getting food before we had. Eventually the waiter stopped coming by our table. After 1 hour and half 1 dish came. Then 2nd dish came out 15 mins after the first. When we asked if the other 2 dishes were coming our waiter advised us they were not even on the grill yet. Not only did we wait 1 hour and 45 mins to get 2 dishes. 2 of our mains never arrived. We ended up missing the first period of the storm game and half of our party had to get pizza at the game. Not only did the food never come we sat for the majority of our visit with empty drinks as the waiter didn t come back to ask if we wanted more to drink.
This is the best thai food ive ever had. The dinner for two takeout was above and beyond fresh. Only let done was the skip the dishes driver. But no reflection on red papaya. Keep up the great work. Tom
Poor service. So slow. Dining area was dirty when we arrived and clean up was slow, and not thorough. We ordered drinks which didn t come for 20 minutes and didn t get any service to order food while we waited. We got tired of waiting and got our drinks to go as it was taking so long. Can t rate the food. This place used to be a go-to for us before we moved back to town. What happened to this place?
Delicious food. Took staff awhile to realize we were there. Could use a reno
Red Papayas tom yum soup is a delightful and authentic Thai culinary experience. The soup is bursting with the traditional flavors of lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and chili, creating a perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory tastes. The addition of fresh red papaya adds a unique twist to the classic recipe, providing a subtle sweetness that complements the heat of the spices. The soup is well-balanced and aromatic, making it a satisfying and comforting choice for anyone craving a taste of Thailand. This place has the best soups in town if you want to warm up!!
Red Papaya is hands down the best Thai and Vietnamese food available in Guelph. My partner and I have been enjoying their food since 2013 and the quality has always been top notch. The portions are huge and, unlike the competition, there is always a healthy amount of veggies with their curries and stir frys. We have travelled through Southeast Asia many times and Red Papaya is the closest thing to being there.
Amazing service, very good food. Customers were spaced out well.
I haven t been here since the Pandemic. Today I was in Downtown Guelph so I decided to stop by and do some takeout, their food still tasted the same. I love the Mango Salad with Fresh Beef Roll, especially the Pho is my number one to go for. Their wine and cocktails also very nice. Highly recommend this place! Good place for a cozy dinner with your family & friends.
Drunken Noodles & Green Curry were disappointing. No flavour on the noodles & curry was more like a gravy with little curry flavour. Pad Thai was ok. Delivery time was over an hour and a half. Maybe an off night for them but wasn t great.
Love this pho place for dine in and take out!
Place is a joke . Just butchered our order and when I spoke with the manager she essentially told me there is no way she has messed this up. She continued to tell me look at our reviews? Like lady you made a mistake just own up to it
First time at the Red Papaya and it was great! Four of us travelled down from Burlington to see them host the Practically Hip which was such a fun show! Jill was awesome. She was very professional and worked her butt off the entire night but still made time to come say hi to us; she made us feel very welcome. Would definitely make the trek up to Guelph again!
A gem in Guelph. Fresh and delicious food, great service. Will definitely be back.
Best pad thai and curry chicken hands down
Attended for a private event organized by Guelph Pride, focusing on BIPOC safety and comfort. Staff and security continually allowed in random non-POC people, including family and friends, (again, private event), and argued when told those people needed to leave because they were making others uncomfortable, even going so far as to let people sneak back in through the back after they had left. Security also didnt accept someones status card as legal ID, even thought it is government-issued and has been federally recognized as ID for decades now. Not a safe place for any non-white person.
I have mixed reviews about this place. I am vegetarian and normally Thai/Vietnamese restaurants have a lot of delicious vegetarian options. The Tom Kha soup was very tasty and hearty. However, the green curry had vegetables that were cut very large and inconsistently. They had no flavour and tasted steamed. The curry itself had no flavour and was not spicy, as advertised. I liked that the tofu was sliced thinly and had a sear on it, but that s about it. Had the vegetables been cut smaller/consistently and allowed to cook in a tasty curry sauce, like most vegetarian curries, the overall flavour would have been much better. I would order the soup again, but the curry needs some improvement.
Really really good Pad Thai. Really fast at making it for a walk in take out.
Food was fresh and full of taste. Large portions for a fair price. Server was personable and attentive, she suggested the chicken Pad Thai which was absolutely amazing.
Good food.. owner was nice.
We had an amazing time here, the Green Curry, Pad Thai, Tom Kha soup and Viet Iced Coffee tasted awesome and unlike any weve tasted before due to the fact that the taste being very unique to this restaurant. Shout out to the owner for being super friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed talking with her. We would definitely be stopping by again when we are in the area and craving some Thai food.
To much salt bad service
Restaurant was completely empty yet food was slow and only ok staff were friendly but obviously bored to death
I love the food here, but I am disappointed with the service recently, as it is usually good. A few weeks ago, my small order took over 2 hours to be delivered to my house, with no apology or sense of urgency when I called to ask where it was. All in all, I enjoy the food a lot, but this is making me consider my alternatives.
Hidden gem. Ive ordered this as take out for several picky guests whove all enjoyed it. They have party trays available for a reasonable price of almost anything on the menu and they have a lot of gluten free options. It helps for a last minute get together. Recommend the fresh rolls, creamy crab wontons, pad Thai and Thai chicken bites. The vibe inside the restaurant is very sports bar like, with regulars and a full bar. There is often live music.
Weve been here a few times now for a quiet dinner. The food is very tasty. Good sized portions. Very quiet place on all occasions that we have been there. My husband loves all the Thai curries and I am partial to their mango fish. Give it a shot if you are in the area and looking for a nice quiet yummy dinner.
Food was very good and most importantly the portions are a good size
Go to pho place for downtown guelph.... or should I say the only pho place downtown guelph.
I had the drunken noodles. They were a bit on the spicy side, but the menu did warn of this (pretty typical for Thai food). I found this dish was very hot and freshly cooked, but the sauce was really oily for me. It was my first time getting this dish, but my brother also found it a bit too oily. The mango shake tasted like fresh mango. Soft drinks had too much ice (over half the glass), but were refillable so not a big deal.
Not only did they give me candy with the bill, but the server gave me EXTRA CANDY when I asked for it. 6/5 Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible, but certain sub-areas inside are not accessible
Im not much of a Thai fan (my wife is) but the food was really good and I enjoyed it.
I m seriously so pleased with my Vietnamese iced coffee my pho soup and Singapore noodles and we also got fresh salad rolls im amazed how fresh the food was and the service was pleasing!
Long wait unprofessional staff so rubbish
Best Thai food in Guelph! I order from them frequently! The portions are a great size & can last me & my boyfriend 2 meals! Only problem is when you order take out after Quebec mall closes there is no way to get in to pick up your take out. You have to call the store and more times then non they have no idea what you are talking about.
Great food
Ordered a lunch, we received a feast, we are very greatful , Your professionalism, great easy website, the food is extremely fresh, excellent tasting, an abundance of portions. Every time is a delightful experience, thank you for making my birthday and all of us at the office happy with your delicious food, Your management and staff are wonderful!
The food is great and the service is good. Its just way too big for the amount of customers they attract.
Honestly the best Thai fusion I have ever had. Very authentic flavors with very delicious finishes. Very fresh ingredients and generous portions. Im looking forward to my lunch and coming back for more! The owner was truly wonderful. She came to our table and thanked us for our visit. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend going.
My friend and I got the chicken and beef pad Thai. Now before I commen, I d like to say this has always been my favourite place for those meals. But today, it was absolutely subpar with the beef one being half full with next to no noodles. And the chicken in the other pad Thai couldn t have been dryer. Don t get me started on the service.
Service was basically non-existent, during out whole experience at the restaurant we saw 3 tables sit then leave (one large table 6+) due to lack of service. Granted it was before a Guelph Storm game but considering this is the largest nearby restaurant I would expect them to be staffed for the pre-game dinner rush. Food is Fusion between Thai and American. We ordered chicken bites to start then a chicken pad thai and green curry. Lots of Veggies which is a nice addition from standard Thai! Overall food was okay and experience was okay. Expensive for what you get.
Absolutely amazing
Yum! And wonderful people working there.
Ahhmazing! We have ordered from here several times now and each time the food has been so yummy! Fish bites, basil mushrooms, fresh rolls, pad thai, red curry, vermicelli, chicken satay....all have been consistently delicious, fresh and hot. This is our go to place, we had it yesterday and I could totally order it again today! Thank you, Red Papaya for knocking it out the park every single time!! We will definitely be back!
I ordered Pad Thai and my husband ordered Chow Mein. They were so delicious. Amazing quality!!! I heard a lot from them from my family and my friends. It was worth my money. Thank youuu
Very solid Pho, no corners cut on ingredients and portions. Great friendly service. Thank you.
One of my favorites place to eat, I really like the food
Great food and great service! I had ordered wrong and when I phoned back to adjust my order they accommodated the change. Definitely would order from them again.
This is what happens when you refuse to give delivery guys trays for the drinks. Usually everything tastes great, but this is unacceptable! #halfinthebag @RedPapaya
Once again another great meal. Theyre always consistent with the taste and quality. 11/10 will return for sure. Hold
Delicious food, beautifully prepared, great prices! A family favourite
Very good food. We tried 5 or 6 things and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back.
First time coming to Red Papaya and we just chose a random restaurant in Guelph. Really happy with our order, got two pad Thai veggies and they were not just good but they were pretty large portion sizes as well. Will be coming back again!
The Thai food is AMAZING the pad Thai, curries, fresh rolls, spicy eggplant - all delicious. The tofu is really good and the dishes are large portions and include a lot of vegetables. They have good vegan/vegetarian options. And always good customer service.
Delicious. Worth every penny.
AmaIng boba 10/10
Highly recommend Red Papaya!! Our go to spot to eat Guelph. Always fresh, delicious food. Jill goes above and beyond to please her guests. She is a very hard working, friendly owner. Favorite dishes include Pad Thai, Yellow curry, thai spring rolls, fried won tons with crab & basil beef. You wont be disappointed!
Prices are worth it: authentic Thai taste, polite staff, and the serving sizes are large.
AMAZING Food! SO Good!
Great bubble tea good price 4.5 out of 5
Restaurent is having excellent servjce and clean. But really pricey and parking is very difficult.
best bubble tea
Greatest experience with this restaurant this evening. Ordered through SkipTheDishes and was missing items, I immediately called and they apologized profusely and sent a driver with fresh food (and something extra for the inconvenience.) Amazing customer service and the food is divine! Thank you!
Amazing! I ordered the pad Thai and I thought the good stuff was only on top as I usually find it. But as I kept digging in my food, more chicken and veggies showed up! They were not stingy with the protein and it was mixed within the noodles. Well done! I like a little bit more veggies, slightly less noodles and it would be perfect. Broccoli cooked really nicely with a bit of crunch to it, just the way I like it. A bubble tea was forgotten and when I called to let them know, they sent 2 more plus the one they forgot. Wow! And.... You can choose the sweetness level of your bubble tea! What??! That is phenomenal! Amazing customer service. And the cilantro and lime is such a nice touch. Not overloaded with sugar sauces at all! Really really impressed and great tasting! Highly recommended! Thank you Red Papaya! Can you open a store in Hamilton please?
My friend and I stopped by for lunch (dine-in). Ordered Pad Thai (shrimp, beef), both were really good, generous portions. Would definitely consider this place again.
Nice ambience and food
They werent open for dining in as it was a holiday. We didnt know ahead of time but we got our food and went back home to eat. Very lovely taste and bursts of flavour. We ordered the drunken noodles, special fried rice and some shrimps. You should try the bubble teas in different flavours. We ordered the bubble teas in coconut, strawberry, mango, honeydew, taro and blueberry flavours
Love it! Never disappointed! Thank you!
Food was served nice and hot and the waiters were very attentive which was very helpful I would definitely recommend eating from here and the boba tea was super good and sweet perfect place to eat would definitely go there again sometime
My favourite Thai place in town. They have the best soup and curry. Food is so delicious. I have eaten here many time over the years and its always consistently delicious and amazing service! I will always come back
Spacious and well lit. Wheelchair accessible. Does a brisk trade in bubble tea. You can enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner. Very popular on Guelph Storm game days/
Yummy
Really delicious! The food was well made, well priced and tasty! So far, best Thai in town!
Great place to stop in after the game. Great food.
Great food and service
Its great
Ordered from skip the dishes. It was really yummy and had good portions. The drunken noodles (spicy, with chicken) are probably the best Thai dish Ive ever had (excluding Mengrai in Toronto which is on another level). Veggie crispy spring rolls were good and same with green curry. Wish I could have it more often but I dont live in Guelph.
Our food was piping hot and delicious. The service was excellent. We re definitely going back.
Food was good. A big portion. The bubble tea was delicous. Reasonably priced.
i live
I have lived in Guelph for over a decade now and I just discovered the Red Papaya! Great atmosphere, the kids loved it and the food was really good! My wife had the Pad Thai, whick she said she was going to order on skip the dishes, and I had the spicy Thai soup. Both were really great! Highly recommend this place.
Great service, with a really nice staff and food was fantastic. Had the pho, with chicken and veggies, and fresh summer rolls with peanut sauce. So good and very affordable.
Very sweet bartender made me a very good whiskey sour!
We came to watch our Grandson perform and were very impressed with this restaurant. Although we didnt eat, the food others were enjoying looked very good. Service was excellent. Bar was fully stocked too.
Weve tried this place a few times - the first time was a literal nightmare. We sat there for an hour after our order was taken, finally we just cancelled our order (which still hadnt been started) and left. The second time we were served and ignored the rest of our stay. Finally, the third time, there were only two servers for the whole restaurant. They were running around like crazy. The only reason Im giving a two star is because the food is actually half decent.
This is literally the worst establishment ever. There are COCKROACHES crawling on the bar. The owner treats her staff like garbage even when there are people in the restaurant ( almost every time I walk by I can hear her yelling at someone from outside...) I dont know how they have ever passed their safety inspection. The food is subpar at best too. Go here at your own risk.
Surprisingly good. Great gluten free pad Thai.
Excellent vermicelli and soups. Great flavors. Always friendly service.
Ive been a patron here for years, always enjoyed the food. Never felt the need to write a review until now. Me and my partner ordered our takeout at the bar, as well as a couple of drinks to have while we waited. The owner Jil was perfectly accommodating and talked to us about the metal and punk rock shows she used to hold before all the Covid stuff started. She says she has over a hundred T-shirts from the bands in the back, which is unquestionably rad. When we got back to the apartment I noticed things were not as they should of been with the order. Everything was perfect except the fried rice wasnt quite fried as it was plain. Making mistakes isnt their norm, so I called the place and got Jil on the phone to level. Without hesitation she offered to drive over a fresh order of the fried rice. When the order got here it was filled with all sorts of extras, and was basically our first order over again all cooked right on par. So here I am, belly full and fully satisfied, writing a review to make up for all the generosity and great food I received today. Keep up the amazing work guys. We all make mistakes sometimes, but few of us make up for it in such a gracious, timely, and tasty manner.
First experience with ordering from Red Papaya. Everything came packaged nicely and quickly using skip the dishes. Pad Thai with chicken was delicious, we asked for mild. Had great sweet flavor, lots or chicken and veg. Definitely favorite thing we ordered. The fresh rolls had no mint or cilantro in them, were not prepared as described in menu. The Rad Na stir fry did not have much flavor, noodles were overcooked. Spring rolls were crispy, the sauce that came with was sweet with a nice amount of heat.
Ordered through Skip the Dishes. Not the best. No flavors at all.
You can now Dine in !!!!!
Very good food and plenty of it!!
Love this place!
Everything was so good. The customer service was so warming and friendly. THE FOOD! The rare beef PHO had such a great balance. The broth was perfect and everything was very fresh. Id say one of the best Thai restaurants Ive ever experienced. It was a nice treat finding this place after moving from downtown Toronto.
Friendly and clean.
Great bubble tea
Great food and great restaurant! Had an issue with a delivered order which they promptly fixed with some extras! Thank you.
Highly recommend the tofu fresh rolls! Lots of heart has been out into this restaurant.
The prices were great for the portions, we had so much left over! Singapore Noodles were AMAZING. Will definitely return.
