A perfect evening celebrating an 80th birthday with family. All was excellent from the moment we arrived. Staff were welcoming and attentive throughout the evening and with 11 at table, service was immaculate. The food was delicious, flavours exquisite and all so beautifully presented. We have been coming to Kinghams for over 30 years and it never fails to impress.
Wow. We did not expect this level of quality. We had four different courses each (so tried 8 in total) and all were delicious. Particularly recommend the duck liver parfait and the alaska for dessert. Also really well priced. The service was excellent, the place cozy and picturesque, and we had a fantastic time. Really recommend to anyone in the area!
What a lovely restaurant, The team were excellent, efficient, friendly and so polite. The gentleman who welcomed us on arrival was so welcoming and friendly. We booked for vegan food, four tasty course and weren't disappointed. Tasty freshly cooked vegan food and no fake produced products. The main course and rice pudding were exceptional. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. We particularly liked the umbrella fountain at the front of the premises. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos.
Came during a torrential downpour that flooded part of the premises. The evening was thus slightly slower on the kitchen side of things which was understandable. Heck, if a Masterchef challenge was "Can you still cook to the required standard after you deal with a flood," at least we know it's doable! There are certainly aspects that hold this establishment back from michelin-star territory, but the friendly service isn't one of them. Even after having to muck in and deal with the flooding, it was still warm, friendly and helpful. The mark deducted for atmosphere was just that- it is a tad stuffy/warm in the main dining area that made it uncomfortable to the point we asked to move to the converted area just outside (which wasn't an issue at all) Judged against the midweek treat prices, it's pretty good value for this type of dining. That said, I'm not sure I would come back for the full price menu- reference made to the lamb which, although delicious and faultless, as nevertheless just a single sausages worth of meat. We will be back - hopefully with better weather!
Lovely cosy atmosphere, food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality you get!
Excellent food and service, menu not huge but very good, four courses of slightly smaller dishes but adds to the variety. Staff are great really knowledgable and attentive without being intrusive. Must book as it does get busy
Wonderful experience. Found the venue on a review site. Booked a table, must admit it was 75 minutes drive away, but oh so worth it! Small bread "loaf" cut into four for us. Crumbly and delicious. We deliberately chose different dishes for each of the four courses to try as many dishes as possible. Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. Highlights are hard to identify, though I never thought I would have a liver parfait as good as Hestons, I was wrong. Special mention for the mock cocktails but my goodness the roast potatoes were quite exceptional too. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Very clean toilet. Met chef at the end of the meal, what a delightful passionate chef. Well worth the trip for some frankly quite exceptional food.
Amazing food in a beautiful setting. The restaurant main building was built in the 17th century, and you can admire its original beauty. The food is delicious! We had the 4 courses menu, and we were both extremely happy with our choices. The service was excellent, fast and professional. All the above for a very reasonable price, £130 without service.
No LONGER a first class lunch at Kinghams. Great service in idyllic surroundings. Hey Jack I shall NOT be making further visits with business colleagues and friends. UPDATE 12 AUGUST 2022. SADLY WE NO LONGER VISIT THIS WONDERFUL RESTAURANT Reason... I would always go for the Steak on the menu but it is not to be found on the menu anymore. My partner suffers a fish allergy so that rules out much for her. My friends say lets go to Kinghams for lunch and we have to say NO. I Used to love lunch there with friends but its not my sort of dining anymore such a shame that an English Restaurant does not offer a decent steak anymore. Sadly now overpriced and pretentious. And Im NOT going Veggie. But good luck to you all for some great memories. Sadly the response from the management did not answer my question so have down graded my score.
I love this place. Only ever been on dark evenings when the atmosphere is quite magical. Great food and service, always, thank you!
Overpriced, taster dishes in respect of quantity, quality excellent, services brilliant. Overpriced wine.
Relaxed fine dining experience with brilliant service and carefully prepared dishes that were delicious from start to finish. Great wine recommendations too.
What a wonderful find! I researched a few places to meet friends for lunch, and we were all impressed by the food, the presentation, service and location. We will most definitely return. Good choice of food and drink. Thank you for taking great care of us.
A very good menu and excellent Service.
A really lovely menu, and impeccable service in historic building. I only wish I had have realised could get better value during the week Monday-Thursday as portions are on the small side for a la carte but we really enjoyed our meal in this beautiful village.
Good luncheon concept ..Tasty food with a difference . Sensible portions. Great value. we re already planing a return visit and wouldn t hesitate to recommend
As always a very wonderful treat to dine here. The food is always stunning. The atmosphere is intimate and classy and the staff make you feel very special.
Food quality, presentation, service, wine pairing 10/10. A little gem in Shere in the surrey hills.
A must go. We are regulars. An intimate place, great food, atmosphere and service.
Cannot recommend enough. Outstanding service, incredible food and a beautiful, quintessentially English country setting. Simply amazing experience.
Amazing food. Great lunch with colleagues. Lovely setting.
The vegetarian options werent very good but a nice selection of wines though
A family favourite, the best restaurant around Guildford! Always exceptional service and superb seasonal food.
Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent, seasonal, locally sourced food, perfect for a celebration meal.
The best meal I have had for a long long time. Four courses beautifully presented with exquisite tastes, quite small portions but very rich so absolutely enough. Very nice staff with pleasant surroundings. Quite a small menu but I prefer it that way rather than having many options and not doing them to this standard. Will I be going again - definitely as dont like going into London for what I presume is called Fine Dining.
Excellent food and service. Extensive wine list. Be aware that menu options are limited to 4 courses and the choice of 4 dishes for each 4. This does change seasonally. But you can just go for a drink. Vegetarian options: Each course will have 1 vegetarian option
Fabulous meal, lovely setting.
So please to have a wonderful vegan lunch with our friend who had a fish dish all delicious.
Fantastic eveing meal at Kinghams. Service was impeccable, and the food exquisite. Highly recommended
My partner and I shared 2 starters, 2 seconds, and one main. The dishes were all cooked perfectly and the service was spot on.
Love place to be I love the food and drink good service
Delicious food. Small portions and four courses just right for us. Lovely atmosphere. Staff were very attentive from the moment we arrived taking our coats for us and meeting our needs throughout our meal. Everything was just great from start to finish. Will definitely return.
Charming old pub, very cosy with a log burner. We went for lunch and had 4 courses.. All of them are delicious, beautifully presented and imaginative. Staff were very helpful with wine and food choices.
Absolutely exceptional food and service in a beautiful, cosy and relaxing setting. Came here for my mother-in-law s 75th birthday (and who had her wedding reception on the then-different restaurant in 1980 and who s loved it since). Each course was mouth-wateringly flavoursome and done to perfection in taste and presentation. The waiting staff were so kind and attentive. To top it off they overheard us saying happy birthday to her and brought out a surprise dessert for her with a candle. Absolute treat of an evening. Thank you!
Never again.
Christmas Eve doesnt get much better. Lovely food in a fantastic building, the waiter and owner were very polite and made time to chat.
Yet another excellent visit to Kinghams.
Impressed by the food and service, very happy with our experience.
High-end and delicious food, be sure to make a reservation as it may not be fully booked
Had a wonderful Christmas meal. Beautiful atmosphere and the food was to die for. Yummy. The staff are welcoming and looked after us so well. Best Christmas meal I have had. X
Fabulous food and impeccable service.
Ordered drinks for arrival. Had them ready very quickly. Great staff. I had seabass and prawns. Lovely. Hubby had the Beef Wellington. Lovely wine list. Look forward to going back.
Our first visit, with experienced friends. Lovely atmosphere, great food, gracious service, and a very diverse and excellent wine list! Highly recommend.
A most delightful restaurant, gorgeous food and brilliant staff who couldnt have been more helpful. Ive recommended Kinghams to 2 friends already. I had lunch there last Wednesday, 1st February. Perfect for a special meal.
We had a really lovely meal here . Full of flavour and fresh tastes
What a treat, Great food, amazing location. Food so fresh. Will be back.
Surreys Best
Amazing food - delicious!
Simply Top Notch!
Both the building and the ambiance are very nice. Some dishes were really good, some others not so much.
Excellent food. Friendly and attentive service. Very good quality wine.
Very enjoyable experience, lovely welcome, very clever food, white tablecloths and attentive waiters in a delightful cottage atmosphere.
Lovely classic food with that go the extra mile service first meal out 6 months + and the team made it very special
Exquisite!
Im not really sure why this place has such a high review. Im a massive foodie and was really looking forward to this place however I was really let down. The cocktails are very watered down and doesnt really taste good - comparable to a low rated pub. Ultimately the food doesnt taste great. Left a lot of our meal uneaten which was really dissapointing. Given the cost I was expecting more complex flavours.
Another great meal at kinghams today. Always a special experience with fabulous staff. Definitely our favourite restaurant.
I visited Kinghams recently with my grandmother for lunch and could not ask for a better experience. The food was outstanding, my favourite was the beef fillet that was cooked to perfection. The setting in a listed building in Shere is picture perfect. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to my next visit.
Probably the finest restaurant in town Kinghams offers world class cuisine within a scenic and historical setting. We ve visited on several special occasions and each time we ve been given first class service from the point we book until the time we leave. A very romantic and also social spot. Kinghams combines the high quality fine dining experience and sophistication of Londons top restaurants with the warmth of Surrey. Highly recommended
Excellent food and service and very reasonably priced.
It was okay. Staff were friendly and it had a pleasant atmosphere but a bit overpriced for what was on offer. Not really a lot of choices on the menu either as it was cuisine style so not what I would usually choose to eat personally. Still it could have been a lot worse so Im not complaining.
High end restaurant serving delicious food. My only criticism was that they had an outside area joined to the main restaurant which let a flow of very cold air in at a floor level. Freezing feet!
Food was superb, service outstanding and the overall atmosphere very special. We will be back with more fiends.
Excellent service Star of the show by far was the delicious Blood orange Bakewell tart with Tonka ice cream. Octopus starter was good but only 3 small pieces, 5 would have been better. Surrey hills filet beef, best part was the marmite emulsion croquette.
Always love going to Kinghams. Their bread is amazing and the menu is very well priced
Lovely staff, good food and beautiful setting. Perfectly cooked steak.
The food was exceptional, we had the beef and the asparagus and risotto with a Goats cheese starter. The only reason I haven t bumped this up to a 5* was purely down to the steak portion size. I do understand quality over quantity and the quality was amazing, however there was two tiny pieces which wasn t enough for me. It left you wanting for more but for hunger rather than for experience. There s a fine line between food experience and leaving hungry. Staff and service amazing, huge drinks menu. All in all a really fantastic night. Well worth a visit, the prices were representative of the portion sizes but I would have preferred to have paid more and got a little more.
Love it all!
We had a wonderful lunch sitting on the terrace at Kinghams. It is a very high-quality restaurant in an attractive historic building with friendly staff and a knowledgeable sommelier. A varied and well thought out menu gives you lots of choice. Wine is fairly priced, unlike the plethora of fine dining restaurants who gouge their customers wallets. Parking is easy and the village is great to visit before or after. The pineapple taste tatin was fabulous. It might seem expensive, but it is worth every penny.
A very special day thanks to all at Kingsham team you rock. A little something about our experience. In a quaint little place called Shere, Where laughter and friendship are near, Tasha and Natalie, side by side, Embarking on a lunchtime ride. In the kingdom of Kingsham they reside, Amidst the beauty they cannot hide, Fine dining delights, a feast so grand, Served on plates with an expert hand. Beneath the suns warm and gentle gaze, Theyre seated outside in a cozy haze, Within a lovely hut, a haven of peace, Their worries and stresses find their release. With glasses raised, filled with bubbles divine, Toasting to friendship, a bond so fine, Celebrating twenty-five years of kinship strong, Through ups and downs, theyve carried on. No longer chained by the burden of work, They seize the day, refusing to shirk, Ladies that do lunch, they proudly proclaim, Embracing the joy of life, staking their claim. For today, the world can wait, As they relish each moment, tempting fate, Amidst the clinking of glasses and laughters sound, Their spirits soar, hearts unbound. Their stories intertwine, memories shared, Tales of triumph and moments they dared, In this respite from the worlds demands, They find solace, holding each others hands. Oh, Tasha and Natalie, your friendship pure, A bond that time cannot obscure, May your days be filled with love and delight, As you continue this lifelong, cherished flight. So, raise your glasses high, my dear friends, For this lunchtime journey never ends, In Sheres embrace, let your spirits dance, A testament to the power of friendships chance.
A real treat. Fabulous food, great service. Really enjoyed the 4-courses of smaller dishes. Comfortable and enjoyable surroundings outside, even on an iffy English summer evening. Recommended. Pricey, but worth it - we dont eat out much as we are fussy about food. Would save up and come here again.
The food is amazingly good and a Michelin star is only a matter of weeks away....
Delightful restaurant, amazing food in a beautiful village. Service was great, chef was so passionate! Loved it
Absolutely stunningly good restaurant. Best in Surrey. Food
Lovely three course meal in a beautiful location. Excellent service too.
We had a lovely meal here, with good service and prices reasonable for the quality.
really fantastic. food and service was outstanding.
Super venue for a special treat. Took my mum for birthday lunch.
Excellent food and great service, couldnt fault anything at all
Stunning place, exelent food, perfect service.
Very nice pub with good food
A real treat.
Don t sit in the conservatory
The food was very good, but not particularly exciting, the atmosphere was a little stuffy and old fashioned.
Always great food and service. Excellent value
Service was very good and food is excellent if not outstanding. Venison parfait starter was excellent and came with a good sized brioche bun. Mackrel fish course was ok, very(!) small and a little bland. My guests scallops were incredible. Duck main was superb with excellent sauces. Black rice pudding was different, but not sure Id order it again. The atmosphere is informal but old school and the staff were very friendly. Given we had 4 courses each, 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of red, liqueurs and coffee the £200 bill was a pleasant surprise, theres no doubt that its infinitely better value than the gastro pubs in the local area!! I reccomend Kinghams, its a lovely place and good value, it just didnt quite excite the way Id hoped...maybe thats just me
Excellent food and fantastic service. Highly recommend and can t wait to return.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch in this charming beamed dining room at Kinghams Restaurant, the staff were so friendly and the food absolutely faultless.
Great food!
Meal was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
Exceptional service, food and wine. A great find. We shall return. 6 stars
A romantic setting with indoor and outdoor tables. Oldy worldly cottage. Sufficient room between tables there is a 4 course menu which we ate comfortably, but you can have just a couple if you wish. Size of portions medium. A good affordable wine list. I drank red it was called the wrong un around £26.00 and very good. Lovely helpful staff in a wonderful setting. There is a small car park or you can park on the road side. You must book its packed!!!
The best british restaurant in Surrey! We usually take four courses, which works out roughly around £50 and for the quality of the food, you almost feel guilty paying that price. Every dish is perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service is impeccable and staff are so friendly and welcoming. The interior is cosy and authentically british (we sat in the marquee, which I thought was the best seat in the house). Its not a pretentious restaurant which I love, but its perfect for a birthday treat, or an reason to celebrate with excellent food! You know how the French don t think British people can cook? My boyfriend who is French, thinks this the best restaurant he s ever been too! You will not regret visiting this place.
Thank you for the anniversary desert!!
Excellent cozy corner with good vegetarian and vegan options
Excellent food and very helpful attentive staff.
Absolutely superb meal and service!
I had a pleasure to take photos of lovely small wedding in this place. Its fantastic restaurant with amazing atmosphere for micro wedding. Highly recommended!
Great food and great service
Great service and inventive menu. Portions a little on small size
Absolutely gorgeous food in the village of Shere. Not over priced. Lovely place attentive friendly staff
I dont give 5 stars because nothing is perfect. However, I will give 4.9 stars for the Kinghams restaurant. Amazing experience, excellent friendly professional staff. The food, well food heaven, we had four courses for Sunday lunch split between 2 people so 8 amazing dishes. You can taste every ingredient, flavour excellent. Overall experience the best Ive ever had. Thanks to everyone especially the chef.
We visited for a family birthday celebration and had a lovely meal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Nice atmosphere at the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Came down for dinner tonight, table of 15 so being a chef i know its hard work, just wanted to say what an amazing team in the kitchen, and out the front service was 11 out of 10, amazing food. They deserve everythink that is coming there way , cant wait to come back and enjoy there amazing food, micheliin need to pop in to this gem. Thanks alot for an amazing night
Excellent food. Good ambiance. Friendly.
Fantastic restaurant, good food, great service, a totally brilliant experience!
Lovely hidden gem located in Shere. Small and quaint dining areas split into 2 or 3 rooms. Food was superb and presentation was 10 out of 10. Parking: Plenty of parking
Exceptional
Very good menu, excellent, smart and friendly staff.A pleasure to visit. Parking ok but get there early. Food
Fantastic dinner set in a beautiful country restaurant
feels slightly overhyped. Dont get me wrong, its very good, but not as good as other rosette-y type places. Staff were lovely, food was largely very good (hispi cabbage side was poor and scallops a shade undercooked for me though), really quaint little cottage too. Parking is a bit difficult if you drive a car bigger than 5m long, beware!
Great food and service as always
Good location with plenty of parking spaces. The staff are very friendly and very helpful and obliging. Food was excellent.
Best food around. Sensible sized portions, well designed and tasty. Lovely place.
A really excellent restaurant. The food is outstanding. We ve also had a number of their Kingham s at Home menus in lockdown and they never fail to impress! Absolutely delicious, great value and an excellent initiative to allow everyone to continue to enjoy such a wonderful place. The service is fantastic and always very friendly. 10/10!
We really couldnt have been happier with the food, service or surroundings of this little gem of a place. On arrival we were shown to a small marquis beautifully set for us. Unbeknown to our hosts we were a wedding party of six in these unprecedented Covid times and the lovely drapes were coincidentally very appropriate. We enjoyed four very unrushed courses, all delicious and some excellent and reasonable champagne and wine. I would highly recommend this place.
It was great to get back to Kinghams to eat inside. We have been going there since it opened and have never been disappointed with the food or with the service. We also like the menu change that was introduced last year, enabling us to have four, slightly smaller dishes rather than three larger ones. The only other change we have noticed in recent years is that dishes are more attractively presented so that, more than ever, we eat with our eyes first - and then the taste is even better. Lovely food, lovely people.
Lovely friendly and very good food
First time we have visited Kinghams, what a fabulous menu. The service was excellent, we will be back
Michelin quality hidden in the Hills. I don t really want to tell you this but there is no finer restaurant for a long way unless you venture to the jewels of West London and this tops all but the best of those. The food is inventive & exceptional, the staff friendly and helpful. And all without the pretension of some of its Big City cousins (except for the odd obnoxious rich customer talking incessantly about their money at the next table which isn t Kinghams fault). Go.
Food: beautiful different tastes each course. Portions well sized for the 4 courses. Atmosphere: sat outside in back gazebo. Uplighter set the scene romantically in the evening as per picture. Service: flawless, welcoming without any of that snobbery-ness if you get my drift.
What can I say. The food was amazing, I am not local but I will definatly make sure return visits are frequent.
Great food, service and ambience.
Food absolutely delicious service fabulous
Havent been for while of course and it was wonderful as ever. Two of us ate from the vegan menu which was absolutely delicious. The cheesecake was superb! Service was outstanding too.
Very pleasant experience considering restrictions. We booked a table outside and we were sat in the back yard, under a marquee. Next time I will request inside as I loved the low ceiling and old fashioned decor. The service was very good and the food excellent. The menu is very short but it provides great choice. We were 4 (2 couples) and we enjoyed the food. The prawns on bisque sauce were so delicious, I need to learn how to prepare that sauce. I followed that with scallop ceviche, it wasnt my favourite as I am used to real South American ones but I still cleared the plate. It was beautifully decorated. And as a main course I had the fillet steak which was cooked perfectly rear. But the tastiest food of them all was the ox cheek croquette that accompanied the fillet steak. That was sensationally tasty. That should be prepared and served in the future as its own main course. The only criticism is that the cheese board was too small to my taste as I love cheese. But there was an extra touch at the very end of the meal..., they prepared one free birthday and a free wedding anniversary treat for my son and his wife. Totally unexpected. The waitress just heard us during the initial toast and the rest is history!
A wonderful location, great service, well spaced tables complying with all Covid regulations making us feel very comfortable in our first dining out experience in 16 months. Delish and beautifully presented food. Well done to all the staff and compliments to chef on superb menu. A most definite special place and highly recommend it.
On the expensive side and starter portion was very little.
Great food, gorgeous location
The Kinghams Restaurant is situated in a stunning location in the heart of the Surrey Hills, in the picturesque village of Shere. The food and especially the vegan menu were absolutely exquisite, the staff super friendly, efficient and charming. The Braised lentils with Swiss chard and miso aubergine was delicious, a true Michelin stars experience! This is an outstanding restaurant, providing delightful food, a great service in lovely surroundings that is value for money. Highly recommended!
Quality of food lives up to expectation
Excellent food as always. They offer 4 courses but portion size allows you to have all four.
Beautiful pub, in a lovely outdoor setting. Perfect for a summers afternoon. As always, I studied the menu before booking. What I failed to realise was the ideal format of the meal at Kinghams is 4 course tasting/grazing. Nevertheless, having stopped by for a light lunch we were able to have 2 courses. I opted for Duck liver parfait with black cherry chutney, Guanaja chocolate and malted brioche which I truly believe is the BEST parfait I ve ever had, must try. Followed by the Hake which was also well cooked. Enough options for veggies and vegans, but not extensive - what we did have was tasty. One tiny comment, perhaps they could make the menus look a little nicer, present with different font and inside a leather holder. It would elevate the overall experience to the level it deserves.
Fantastic and imaginative restaurant with delightful and extremely efficient staff. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and some of the best food I have tasted in ages! Good sized portions and non-alcoholic wine available!!
Excellent food and great service!
Delicious food, lovely staff, will definitely be back!
Tired decor but interesting menu
Lovely Sunday lunch I couldnt do better myself
Very good, helpful professional staff, great food. Better than my expectations, and I was told it was good! Please keep up the good work.
My husband and I went with friends for lunch yesterday. The service and food were excellent and I want to thank Chris and Olivia for making my birthday a special occasion. They were attentive ,friendly, and very efficient. There is one issue that we did not like. The meal did not come with sides, so to speak. The duck breast was lovely, and garnished with a lovely single carrot . Hardly a full meal. So our hosts (who insisted on paying) had to order sides. Excellent food, but I do think the format is off-putting.
Excellent food although starter was very small.
Excellent food and great service
Wonderful food and service in a beutiful listed building in centre of Shere. We has a wonderful time - great tasting food, attentive service and decent delection of wine. Excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommend.
We have been to Kinghams many times and had some of their takeaways during lockdown too. Every meal has been fantastic and so has the service! One of my favourite places to eat out.
Wonderful food beautifully presented. I had scallops as my main dish and wish I had space for dessert.
Stunning meal, excellent service, nice atmosphere. Very accommodating of my allergies.
Tables beautifully laid, with excellent service. The food was simply delicious and beautifully presented. Perfect restaurant for us.
The service that we experienced at Kinghams was among the best we ever have at a restaurant. The food was delicious and would highly recommend it to anybody visiting the area, you wont be disappointed.
We really appreciated the staff and the service. Also the food was excellent and hard to fault, only one minor comment is the cheese board was too small and the crackers were disappointing. But we will definitely comeback soon!!!
Nowhere beats Kinghams for this type of venue. For those who dont mind paying for a top quality menu , top quality cooking and top service, this is easily the best in the area. You experience fine dining in a smart rustic, timber framed building in the centre of iconic Shere village. It feels that everything has been thought of to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. However, do not expect a blow-out. The food is prepared and served in a style which calls for every mouthful to be savoured and admired. Four courses were not too much if you have a normal appetite and some delicious side dishes were added too. Overall, a place to enjoy the high life now and again.
Lovely place, the food is really good and it is so tiny and cosy you want to stay for longer. They had gluten and dairy free options, even for dessert which is a treat,
The most superb Sunday lunch to celebrate our sons birthday. The food was outstanding and the service excellent. We cant wait to visit again.
We came here for Chinese Spring Festival and what a fantastic experience. The restaurant is located in a beautiful village Shere. The dinning room is very warm and cosy. Front of house manager Jack and his team looked after us superbly. We listened to his recommendations about each course and they were amazing. Himalayan salt aged steak was the highlight of our meal. Will definitely come again.
Visited Wednesday evening. Very quiet, able VB to chat comfortably .Not full as Im sure they are at the weekend. Food excellent, waitress service attentive, house red very palatable. Overall an experience to savour. Looking forward to returning in the future.
Superb
Love this place, very cute and charming, great food, reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
We were welcomed and the dishes looked and tasted delicious.
Amazing quality takeaways! ;)
Very disappointed with our takeaway meal. We chose from the only 2 available of the 3 listed protein main courses. It was collected hassle free, but when we opened them both starter & main looked identical, green on top and creamy fish at the bottom. They both had to remain in their serving dishes, (plastic and foil respectively, ) on our plates because the starter had a set topping and the main because it was too sloppy when hot to remove. The main was tasteless, short on fish and generally ordinary. We felt we had a poor pub meal from a good restaurant. Laughable, when we see the posh adverts for their takeaways as in the Premier magazine.
A great selection of delicious food Smaller portions so more can be enjoyed
Fantastic food, excellent service and such a lovely quaint spot for a relaxing evening meal. Last night was our first visit to Kinghams and we already cant wait to go back. Would highly recommend!
The service was excellent and the food great, a lovely experience
Very cozy place with lovely staff. Good wine list and large outdoor seating area.
Great Place, Lovely Food and even better service, After a small misunderstanding in our bill, it was rectified immediately and the restaurant went over and above the expectations, they called me to inform that i due a refund due to a mistake. I was absolutely overwhelmed positively with the attitude. AAAAA++++++ Truly recommend not only for that honesty not usual nowadays but essentially for the great Food. Many Thanks
Great meal. Staff are very efficient and knowledgeable. Food and wine delicious. Recommend it.
The charme of this character restaurant made us stop the car to try its cuisine. Unfortunately we were told that they stop taking orders by 2 pm, but I learned its history and was allowed to take few pictures. I learned that the statue of the little girl holding an umbrella was the granddaughter of the late Mr King the owner of the place, that s why the restaurant is called Kinghams. His bronze statue inside next to the bar allows his to be there in spirit. I can t wait to go back and taste the food.
A lovely restaurant in the pretty quintessentially English village of Shere. Delicious food in a great setting.
Amazing food and great service. A real hidden gem! We celebrated A level and GCSE results and had a truly memorable evening. Thank you!!
Exquisite food very tasty great choices
Was amazing food, service was amazing and the staff are very friendly
Delicious menu and a charming Shere atmosphere
We were due to go to Kinghams for birthday in March which had to be cancelled. We were driving past and decided to have lunch. Completely new menu offering 4 courses with 5 choices on each. Very well priced and beautifully presented. Excellent.
Delicious! Lovely staff too.
Delicious and unpretentious. New four course menu is just the right balance between size and range of tastes to choose from. Smiles all round.
Really nice food
Beautiful place and friendly staff was there for a wedding reception the food was amazing and delicious.
Good food and service.
Fantastic 3 course take away dinner. Generous portions. Excellent soup, fishcakes with cheese sauce and chocolate pudding to die for. We are already looking forward to next weeks take away menu.
Lovely food and great service.
Best food and surroundings. Superb restaurant
Never had a bad meal there. They also do a good take away.
Ambitious good and atmosphere
Great food.. brilliant service
Our favourite resturant in this area. Excellent food. Friendly and very efficient staff. Great resturant to celebrate a special occasion
Always first class, wonderfull atmosphere, great staff, exceptional food, good wine. Favourite restaurant.
Absolutely gorgeous food in a beautiful setting. We return again and again when we can. Great service and awarded restaurant of the year 2019.
