Janessa and Lauren were so incredible. Their service was exemplary. They checked in on us quite often and were super knowledgeable about the menu. They provided us with great recommendations.

The service was amazing, we had a little hiccup with one of our orders and the staff/mgmt went above and beyond to rectify the situation!!

The restaurant manger is hypocrisy and a liar. I am a Uber delivery guy, my wife help me to pick up order as there is no parking space, I have to parked alone road , manager said it is ok this time but she reported you on your back right away . Then she deny what she said, don t know how the food looks like, but I know there is a liar who s in charge of this restaurant. God knows what happened and what s true, dare you deny that to me face to face?

The service went above and beyond! I have severe allergies and they took the time to explain to me how they would prepare the food safely and e en bad the manager come and explain it to me. I felt super comfortable. On top of that the food was absolutely amazing!

Pretty good service and tasty food, but where they were outstanding was their care for allergies. Moxies clearly has great training in this area because the server was so thorough in asking questions and the kitchen was so accommodating and the whole process was great. They even had the manager walk it out and reconfirm details at the table. Anyone with severe food allergies should feel confident in choosing Moxies. I was blown away with it.

Stopped in Moxie s downtown Halifax on two separate occasions while on our vacation to Nova Scotia. Both times we had fabulous service, food, and drinks. Heather was very helpful with some last minute ideas for our last day in town and Layla s attention to detail was greatly appreciated!

Was lunch and not busy. Ordered striploin steak , Medium, it came well done and was a VERY poor cut with so much fat and grizzle. Most ended up on the side of my plate. I told server when she came by to check , she said sorry and asked if I wanted another, I had a plane to catch and could not wait again that amount of time. Generally, something should be comped or discounted... nothing at all.. big lessons here to be learned. I wont be back when visiting EDIT - reached out as per below and have heard nothing back for 3 weeks....

Two mice ran past our table. We were eating at 7pm and not just one mouse but two of them scurried past our table... When we mentioned it to the waiter, he informed us that yes it was a problem they were having, and they were doing their best. Because we saw two of them (while the sun is out)... Id be pretty worried about how many more there are Wont be eating at this location again

Last minute, we showed up after an event with almost 20 people, Friday night and the hostess welcomed us with open arms! They accommodated our request, and Caleb R was the most charismatic, attentive server! Really great experience. Thanks again!

Good food a little $$$, service was fantastic but it was also noon so not overly busy.

I have eaten here before but did not have a reservation this evening for a busy pre juniors hockey game. The hostess told us to standby for any cancellations. A couple of groups came through after us but knew the hostess and amazingly got seated immediately. Not that it matters to them but me and mine will not be back.

Stopped here for the World Cup finals, the manager told us they werent open for another half hour but he let us in anyway! We stayed for the whole game and our server Brie was great the nachos with chicken went well with the Argentina win

Had a blackened chicken burger that pretty darn fine! Would go again.

Every member of staff I met is so incredibly welcoming and kind! The venue itself is very cozy and in a nice location. Came here twice this week. Im a vegetarian and some restaurants get veggie options wrong, but both meals (beyond burger and tofu wraps) I got here were so well prepared and tasted great. Appetizers also have vegetarian options and taste just as good.

As we went for lunch, the place was not crowded, got a friendly service and the food was good too. I still want to try in the evening hours.

Went for dinner. Food was luke warm and what I had was a bit on the bland side. About 6 customers so the kitchen wasnt exactly slammed. Wife liked her food. Too expensive to give it another try.

Our server Merle was terrific and the food was great too, however I had called to make the reservation days earlier for a wheelchair accessible table, one that was not right by the door, as most restaurants tend to do. I was assured on the phone that I would be at a table further back and there were a couple of options they had so I wouldnt be at the door. I arrived and where did they put me? The table right by the door. The hostess didnt know what I was talking about when I tried to explain. I wasnt happy and didnt feel validated. Restaurants need to do better to make their whole establishment more accessible for all

Vegetarian options are tasteless and on top of it the staff is so rude that once you pay the bill they won t even serve you a glass of plain water. Had gone there for birthday celebration but they just ruined our mood.

Food was not worth the price of 22 dollars for ramen, and I can get much better ramen for less. There was a bug in my cocktail as well and practically empty during a happy hour. Well there is a reason for that.

worst dinner experience in Halifax ever 1) appentizers were already servered for 5mins, we did not get any cutlery 2) no one ever refilled our water 3) we had no napkin entire dinner even we asked for it multi times we only got chance to talk with our waitress 3 times: when we order drink, order food and get bills anyone who is reading this review, NEVER EVER GO TO DINNER AT THIS MOXIE

Update: I contacted the general manager and they were quick to provide a response and options to resolve the issue. Seated after a 15min wait, bartender took our drink order then asked if wed like to order food. We did, and I watched her enter our orders on the computer. Waitress came by with cutlery. 30 mins later waitress came back to say she was sorry but our order was missed because the bartender took the order instead of her. Not sure why she didnt realize when she brought our cutlery. We had to leave for an event, very disappointed we were there for an hour and didnt get food. Manager gave two 10 dollar gift cards which cant be used at the same time, also disappointing. Very poor staff communication.

The food is great, but the service has been bad every time I ve gone there. The servers are frequently chatting with each other or they re flirting with male patrons instead of doing their job. Very frustrating and I m embarrassed whenever I m with a guest.

I have been to so many Moxies, but this was by far the most enjoyable experience we ve had. Our server Bri was so so sweet and fun. She made our night so memorable. Our food was amazing, the happy hour drinks were great. The manager stopped by to chat with us and we had some great conversations. It was a wonderful experiences and the service is phenomenal. We re only in Halifax for two more days and I hope to stop by once more before we leave. Thank you so much for an amazing time!

Love wine Wednesdays, we dined here May 31st, it was a nice evening and we sat outside. Our server Brie was awesome. I would suggest making Calamari into a bit smaller pieces as we have to use knife to cut then into smaller pieces. Will be back again soon.

Great Seafood chowder.

Had a very disrespectful experience at this moxies today. The manager named, Tets (not sure if she gave us here correct name) assumed and decided not to serve us. We waited for our order for almost half hour and then when we asked why is it taking so long, our server told her her manager had asked to wrap up. When we asked for a reason, she couldn t answer and then we asked for manager, when the manager arrived she made up some excuses and when she realized she made a mistake, instead of apologizing she ignored her mistake and tried yo cover up. She later accepted her mistake and said she should ve not assumed. This is sad as the business owner lost a big client and just due to a manager incompetency.

Our waitress was beyond accommodating and attentive. She even found a way to honor our request for maple syrup with salmon . The prices are on par with restaurants of this type and the small dessert portions made it easy to indulge. My only critique was that the restaurant lacked a tiny bit of personality. Kid-friendliness: A great kids menu and they were lenient on the age category which is a relief to picky eaters. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy floor transitions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waitress, Brianna was fantastic--kudos to her! The food was delicious. The volume of the music was a bit too loud for us to carry on a conversation with ease. We certainly didnt allow it to ruin our evening. We had tickets for an event and our waitress had us all fed and the bills settled in perfect time. We will definitely return again.

Ive eaten here twice in recent months. Ive gotten steak both times, sidled by mashed potatoes and garden vegetables. I thought that the garlicification of the steak was a little much but I only say this because I didnt want to say that the short young server that looks like Mila Kunis, is why I would go back. Oh this was a real treat! Loved every bite and I can for sure recommend the tenderloin steak and the key lime pie which were both divine. When you come to Halifax and you look for New Canadian Cuisine, this is definitely the place to go!

If I could leave zero stars I would. We arrived down at the location at 10:45 to be advised we could not be seated due to shortage of staff meanwhile there is plenty of room and we re instructed to return in about 10-15 mins. Do we not take names and numbers to call to come back? So if someone walks in in 10 mins before us getting back they could get the seat and is he at capacity. This location is always a disappointment take the time to go to Bayer s Lake. Much better service - disappointed I couldn t even get a chance to get to have food this evening because of their poor staff management and hostess. Will not return ever again, Bayer s lake will be the way to go!

Moxies staff go out of their way to provide great service to customers. Ive seen this in the great attention paid to allergy concerns and table requests. Dietary restrictions: Excellent respect is given to dietary restrictions and allergies.

Ordered a Steak Frites. I had to tell the Manager that the steak was stiff and had nerves and was not the greatest. I was offered a meal replacement which I appreciated and refused. Maybe steak is not their thing, will give it another try next time Im in town with something else off the menu.

I was told the Moxies Grill at this location offers great foods so I gave it a try on Canada day. The menu didnt really satisfy me, items were high carb, over priced and the only seafood option that caught my eyes was not available. The steak was supposed to be medium rare but it was medium. The taste was more of a stew than a steak we traditionally know. Nowadays its hard to find a steak that has nothing but a high quality meat and nothing else.The fries and mash potato were amazing though. I asked for the hottest sauce and I got a little bit of spice in a ketchup but I had a great experience with the staffs and their great customer services. Not sure if I revisit again, but if I do I wont go for the steak menu.

Very unprofessional service! We sat there for about 15mins and restaurant had probably 2 tables with people on it. Were even asked water or drinks. Waiters would pass by make eye contact and just walk by even when trying to ask them to please come to take our order. If I could I would give them a zero.

The most expensive dinner ever. Delicious food. My kid had Burger with bacon and fries and ice cream for dessert. I had salt and pepper wings, fries and key lime pie for dessert. Absolutely delicious. Cost us 89dollars includes a 15% tip. Kid-friendliness: Nice and polite hostesses. Order whatever you want on the menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat against curb. No stairs.

We had to call the waiter, he didnt come himself, at the end when we asked for a doggy bag, the waiter placed the box in front of us and let us do it, instead of doing it himself, moreover, the service was long...

Really bad food. Pasta was dry and the wings were absolutely horrible. Terrible waitresses. Completely ignored us all the time. Didn t even get us water. Had to beg them to send the bill. Never going there again.

High quality and delicious food but the service is not good. Although the waiters are polite when they talk to you, you will find that they sometimes ignore you even when they clearly see you asking for their attention. They may even stall and continue doing random chats and attend to you only when they are finished. I wanted to lower my tip because of this but I changed my mind later on.

They make the best calamari I have ever had.

The food is always delicious. The atmosphere is classy and clean. The staff are next level top shelf servers and they really know how to make you feel welcome and keep you coming back for more. One of my favourite spots to go sit and have drinks with a friend, or have a meal!
