Dined in for my birthday and it was amazing all around! The food was absolutely to die for (specifically the calamari and the tagliatelle--omg). It tasted so fresh and flavourful. The service was equally as good. The staff are very professional, attentive, and thought of everything. The restaurant itself is very quaint and intimate which makes for a perfect vibe. I have lived in Halifax for years and enjoy dining out and this was the best restaurant I have been to in recent memory. Definitely a hidden gem. I will be back!
Best pasta I’ve had in HRM hands down! My husband and I felt like we were back in Italy. Everything was perfection - the ambiance, the servers, the dessert *chefs kiss*. Highly recommend!
Went out for my birthday supper and was blown away by the level of service, staff were so friendly and attentive. Fantastic experience. The food was was absolutely delicious, I had the bolognese and she had the carbonera. The food was hot and delicious, so much flavor. I cant recommend this place enough.
One of my favourite places for italian food. The pasta is phenomenal always tastes fresh. Scallops are cooked to perfection and the service is flawless. The cocktail specials are a must try!
Our recent visit to Mappatura was an absolute 10/10 from the moment we entered. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly, informed and helpful. Regrettably, I don't know the name of our server, but she was amazing - the perfect balance of knowledgeable and friendly, but never intrusive or too persistent. Drinks and dishes came out in a timely manner. Oysters and toppings etc were *chef's kiss* and the Calamari dish is the best I've had. Pastas were delicious! Great portions and lots to choose from. I only wish I had room to try more! Dessert and amari was the perfect way to end the evening. It was so sweet that they acknowledged my partner's birthday and made her feel special without things feeling cheesy. Simone and her staff have got it down to a science here. Can't wait to go back!
Amazing experience, food was fantastic, service was attentive and helpful - explaining dishes and providing suggestions. We felt very taken care of. Walking into this restaurant hearing many great things, it’s impressive to have high expectations exceeded, and that’s exactly what happened.
This is such a nice place to dine at. The food is delicious, the portions are not grotesquely huge, just enough. The service is superb! Friendly, efficient, intelligent and not invasive. We were the 4 with a birthday girl, and we look forward to seeing you next year. If we didn't live in Ottawa we'd probably be here once a week! Good Job!
Simply the best in Halifax. They also now have some nice natural wines and orange wines on the menu. The Caesar salad was fresh acidic and crunchy. We got bacon on the side so vegetarian could share. Oysters were fresh briny plump and firm. Great mignonette. Puttanesca and Aglio e Olio were incredible. Can't recommend enough.
Staff squeezed us in without a reservation. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Would like more veggies with the steak and fries.
Came here for a work event with a large group. The food was stunning. Still thinking about it a week later. Service was top notch. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic. Delicious. Wonderful service. Just go and enjoy.
Amazing food, can t wait to go back!
Food and service is always excellent. Portions are a bit smaller than most Italian restaurants. Prices don t reflect that, but I prefer quality over quantity. The calamari is the best in Halifax, the fish specials are always great, and they have nice pastas. No fresh bread to start, but you can order it (not made in house). We tried the sorbetto for dessert. I d stick to the tiramisu next time. The sorbetto was half melted when it arrived, a little too sweet, and had some large ice chunks. Overall it was a great meal like all previous visits. It ended on a bitter note, however, when we received the bill: We were charged an outrageous $9 per bottle for sparkling water. Price was never discussed when it was offered instead of still water. I would understand a $3-5 up charge, but I certainly wouldn t have agreed to two bottles had I known it would be a total of $18. On top of that, the server informed me that they don t take American Express. I understand that processing fees are a bit higher and can be difficult for small businesses, but this is a restaurant where you can easily spend over $100 per head. I have not been to any other sit down restaurants in Halifax that don t take Amex.
I have been going to Mappatura for many years. It is one of my must stops every trip to Halifax. The food is consistently excellent with full-bodied and complex flavours. The hostess and servers are delightful professionals who clearly love and excel in their work. Parking: Parking usually available across from the public gardens.
We are always so happy with our food and the service here. We have brought so many friends here and everyone is so pleased and impressed with food and service. This is one of our favourite restaurants in the city
Been here a few times , staff service and food are always a pleasant experience . Try the calamari!
The best Italian restaurant in the city. The restaurant is perched just off the sidewalk, with windows all around. The food is delicious and served with care. Their specialty drinks are unique and refreshing. The service is warm and accommodating. 5 stars all around. Thanks for the amazing meal.
Great food and great service! Pictures feature the calamari, steak, and tiramisu. All absolutely delicious
My family and I visited this restaurant on vacation and loved it. We were treated with kindness and with great attention. They moved us inside because they noticed we were cold outside. They made one of the best gnocchi we ve ever had, and the aglio e olio was great. We also tried their tiramisu and sorbet of the day.. all top notch.
The food and service are superb. Go!
Delicious food and truly outstanding service, above and beyond what l experienced in other good restaurants (a case in point: a server noticed my friend dropped a piece of food on her blouse, and presented us with a glass of sparkling water and a napkin a few seconds after my friend noticed what happened). Incredible mussels and calamari..
Great dine here. The Tiramisu is best in Halifax
Please don t come here if you like amazing dishes, unique cocktails and a cozy atmosphere! I want to be able to keep coming back and finding tables. Honestly though, this is the best hidden gem restaurant in the city! Love the people that work there.
Delicious Italian in a casual atmosphere with friendly staff. If you are looking for a great meal, this is the place! Communal or private table options available. Ensure you have reservations as they can be hard to get.
Everything was top notch, they made a birthday dinner extra special. Service was attentive, the food was tasty and fresh, and the atmosphere is classy but fun. 100% will be back.
When my girlfriend and I arrived we were immediately greeted and seated within a minute. Our server Salome was kind, attentive, and made the whole experience absolutely wonderful. The menu may look daunting if you do not eat Italian food often, but Salome graciously assisted me with the names of the dishes, without making me feel out of place. The food is incredible and Salome kept our wine glasses full all night. This is a place everyone in Halifax has to try if they re looking for a lively, fun, delicious evening.
We went to Mappatura for dinner last night for the first time. Safe to say this is our new favorite place in Halifax!! The staff were so friendly, knowledgable, and gave great service to the point that no drink was ever empty or need unmet, but you never felt like they were hovering or overbearing. The food from appetizers to dessert was delicious and the space was cozy and intimate - perfect for either a mid week date night or weekend celebration. We really enjoyed our experience.
I went here with my sister and our uncles, D & G, for a reunion after many years back in August 2023. The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was incredible. The waitress we had was very attentive and friendly. My sister was with us and she has a few allergies and I think that this was the most well informed experience I ve ever seen her have. As the shared dishes came out, they made sure to tell her what possible allergens were in them and they really knew the menu and ingredients, it put our minds at ease. The food was wonderful as well as the cocktails. It was truly a fantastic evening and I can see why my uncles love your restaurant so much. Thank you all for such a great experience and evening and for being part of what was a really special evening for our family. I can t say enough about how great the entire experience was from the food, drinks, service, all of it. Thank you!!!! Dietary restrictions: The staff are very well informed of the ingredients in the menu and what the potential allergens are. I truly think that this was the most attentive allergy experience I ve ever seen my sister have. They continued to be well informed and to keep us all well informed on what shared dishes may contain which allergens. Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is located on the ground level and the washrooms are as well.
I was there with a group and everyone raved about their meals. This has to be one of the best dining experiences I have had in Halifax for a long time.
Great food but too salty My cat really love this place Food
Wonderful Italian food
Mappatura has quickly become our favourite restaurant in Halifax. The food and service are always incredible. Never disappoints. Great staples and seasonal dishes. Highly recommend for any celebration. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian and pescatarian options for myself.
I have now dined at Mappatura twice and just wow! The service was outstanding both times and the food was sooo good! Lovely Italian wine selection as well. Although the kitchen might be unsafe for celiacs due to the flour in the air, they have taken every other precaution to ensure my meals were prepared gluten free and I didnt get sick either time. Cannot wait to go back!
A very well executed Italian restaurant with great food and service. There are classic Italian dishes along with some house Italian plates. Amazing calamari, gnocchi, pappardelle... Great mussels, ragout, carbonara, tiramisu... All so good
Wow. What an incredible experience. Everything was 10/10. Atmosphere is perfect. Service was amazing. Our server was professional and so knowledgeable on both the food & wine menu, all while exuding warmth and hospitality. My group all got different mains and we found ourselves sharing (something we never do lol) because we just had to try them all. This is one of the best dining experiences Ive had in Halifax, cant wait to go back!
This restaurant is a gem. The staff are lovely without being overwhelming and the ambiance is perfect. I absolutely love all the natural light, it feels like summer even in the middle of winter. The food itself is delicious. I will be back, thank you!
Very delicious food here, the calamari is some of the best I ve ever had. We tried basically everything on the menu and everything was wonderful. Tough to complain about someone refilling your wine glass but service should check to make sure the people they are pouring for are indeed drinking the wine. Again, hard to complain about good service. Which is why I give 5 stars.
Best Italian in the city, hands down. Drinks, appetizers and dessert were all spectacular. All staff were warm, friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend!
The food was good, but if Im paying 60$ for a plate after tax and tip, then I should get more than a pittance of potatoes and veg. I was so excited hearing the waitress describe the beautiful triple AAA tenderloin dinner. When my plate arrived I thought Id gotten the wrong plate. As if Id gotten something off a fancy kids meal. To my dismay it was my meal. I could count the amount of green beans on a single hand. I savored every bite of mashed potatoes like it was my last. They were delicious, but Ive had sushi restaurants more generous with wasabi than they were with these potatoes. And like one sick joke the cutlery was so large I could almost scoop half the plate in one go. The fork I was provided would be better suited for serving salad, and I should have kept the spoon to shovel my driveway. Parking: Street parking. Kid-friendliness: Standard portions are perfect for kids.
The best restaurant in the city. Hands down. I have taken family and friends to this location to be treated kindly, with respect, by the staff and ESPECIALLY Simone - the owner. The food is exquisite and it s nice that they change up the menu. My mouth is watering just writing this review and I m going to make another reservation after posting this.
Fantastic atmosphere and attention to the client. The food is terrific and the portions are very well served. I appreciate the staff, but I just wish they wouldnt interrupt us to ask how we were doing SO often.
My fav, go to restaurant. Amazing owner and staff. Very cozy place. Perfect for dates, friends night out even group events. The atmosphere is perfect. Im a dessert person and they make the best and perfect TIRAMISU in town. Tried a number of places and this is it. l order it at least every week. Its my favourite comfort dessert. Amazing menu. Highly recommend this place.
Excellence in food and service! A lovely evening!
It was my first time, very good food and really good service. Nice to eat alone or with friends.
The food was incredible tonight. Perfectly shucked oysters, cornish hen with the crispiest skin, perfect rich creamy scallop pasta with awesome noodles. Probably my 20th visit but always impresses.
Absolutely GREAT !!!
Exceptional staff, amazing food.
Everything was delicious! We really struggled with what to order because it all seemed great, so our waitress gave recommendations and we trusted her and are so glad we did! Aside from the tasty food, everyone there was so kind and it s super cute inside. Highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: They had a booster seat that worked for our one year old, and everyone there was so sweet to her!
Great food and ever better service. We also love the gelato. Its on the pricier side but we felt its worth it.
Everything was great. Will def come back.
I love that when we left everybody waved just like we were actually family! Every bite was delicious and I will have lots of joy in the future. Just remembering that wonderful meal.
The service was incredible, kind, entertaining and helpful. The food was great overall, I found the pasta a touch salty but otherwise delicious. It s an excellent place for a delicious Italian meal without having to fight for a seat by the boardwalk.
This had been on our list for a long time and was delicious and worth the hype! Lovely service and atmosphere though a tad bit too loud once it filled up, I felt like I had to yell to talk to my partner. Both of our pasta dishes were amazing, and my husbands affogato was delightful. I had the lemon tart and would say it was the only disappointment of the meal! When I broke the tart shell the entire filling came streaming out and was soupy and disjointed, I dont know if this is how its supposed to be or if perhaps the filling just didnt set right this time :(
Little hidden gem in Hali. Highly recommended! Food was amazing and the service and atmosphere were superb.
Recently had dinner at Mappatura for my birthday on a Saturday. The food is very tasty, however I was very disappointed that the portions seemed very skimpy. For example, the calamari only occupied a very small amount of the plate and might of consisted of 125 mL in total volume. Definitely not enough to share more than 3 bites each. The scallop fettuccine dish for $32 consisted of 5 scallops which were so tasty you were left wanting 8.. but more surprising, very limited noodles. I had 6 bites that was it. There was lots of leftover sauce on the plate but nothing to soak it up with! Noodles are not expensive so I was not pleased to be left hungry. The chocolate torte was also a very limited sliver of deliciousness. So, I think since I first started coming to this restaurant 6 years ago or so, the portions have dropped in size considerably and the prices have not. Disappointed as I left feeling like I could have eaten double. I m a small person. Also I would highly recommend sound baffling panels. It was a busy night and we could not hear our own conversation. Too loud. Sadly, we left as soon as our food was finished, within an hour. Maybe take out provided bigger servings.
We always feel so welcome at Mappatura Bistro - their intimate and cozy setting is perfect for a date night, celebrating a special occasion or a family gathering. The team are exceptional. Both owners work in the business in the back of house as head Chef and front of house manager and Sommelier Simone. The food is an excellent and seasonally changing Italian fine dining menu yet somehow remains approachable. A curated drinks menu and wine list are well thought out and can be expertly paired by owner and sommelier Simone. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetables and vegetarian options because Italian food is so vegetarian friendly when you can have cheese/butter/eggs. Strict vegans have less options but the staff know how to accommodate and adapt menu items to suit. Dietary restrictions: Typically 1/2 our group is vegan and the Mappatura Bistro team always take care of us. Kid-friendliness: Kids always welcome and dotted on just like adults. My kids love going to Mappatura.
First time trying Mappatura and we will definitely be back. Lovely meal, amazing desserts and cocktails, and friendly but unpushy service made this a great dinner experience. Looking foward to our next visit!
Always enjoy eating here, one of our favorite places to eat in Halifax. Food and service is always great, never disappointed.
The place is always warm and cozy, the staff are extremely friendly, and most importantly the food is always on point! Ive had all kinds of pastas, chicken burgers, and most recently their take-home-and-bake lasagna and I have yet to have a bad experience. Their tiramisu is the BEST tiramisu ever!
Unbelievably welcoming staff, amazing food and service. Very good portions for what you pay!
Enjoyed a nice birthday supper here tonight, fully covid protocols in place, great atmosphere, great food, great service...good spot worth stopping in, 2 thumbs up
Seafood was fantastic (oysters, calamari, mussels, salmon)
Casual upscale food and thoughtful and friendly service. Feels like an authentic modern Italian experience.
Best Italian food in the city. The calamari is so good we always get two. Personally I find that their spaghetti dishes are the gems of the menu. I had the Aglio e Olio this time and it was fantastic. Ive had other pasta dishes from their menu but I always end up preferring the spaghetti dishes.
Beautiful, cozy space. Delicious food. Attentive service. Can t wait to go back.
In the Mariah Carey song Obsessed she sings the line Oh, why you so obsessed with me (boy, I wanna know). I personally believe this line is being sung by the mignonette sauce to me because I cannot stop thinking about it. Its been 2 weeks, please send help. Edit: several months later and that mignotte still slaps on top of the biggest boi oysters I have ever seen.
Amazing food, staff, and atmosphere! Most importantly they consistently provide all of the above. Definitely make a reservation. Bonus is if you have a designated driver, parking is never an issue.
Very small space, strongly recommend making a reservation. However the food was to die for, so delicious. And the service was incredibly friendly, attentive and quick. Its easy to miss or underestimate in its current location but well worth it and the prices are more than fair for the quality.
Great food, amazing friendly service. A lovely place to celebrate a special occasion.
very authentic dishes. I enjoyed eating here!
We ate here last night and we were thoroughly impressed! Best pasta I ve had in Halifax. The staff was incredibly friendly and the service was beyond exceptional. We will definitely be back!
One of my fav restaurants in Halifax. Incredible service and the food has always been delicious. Their daily specials are Special!
We had two servers. One server was very rude and felt as if you were inconveniencing her. She seemed moody and over all not approachable. The other server seemed to be in training and seemed lovely.
Lovely experience from service to food. I was a bit skeptical as to being rushed due to the hours of operation but i needed not to worry. Every item ordered was superb! Compliments to the chef; i perhaps missed my servers name but she was great. My only reason for taking a star was due to the noise level because of how small the space is within the restaurant.
Amazing spot. This place is a gem. Really nice meal.
Always great service and delicious food!
Absolutely wonderful staff and service. I will definitely be coming back again!
Good food and great service.
Great food!
I was very surprised by how good this place was! The atmosphere is amazing and the food was incredible
Perfect dinner tonight. Had the Arancini, bolognese spaghetti and the chocolate creme brûlée. My boyfriend had the carbonara and Caesar salad, he said both were delicious. The arancini had a creamy (mushroom?) purée under them and a delicious balsamic sauce. It was incredibly flavorful and not too heavy. The bolognese was delicious and very fresh tasting, and the portion was very generous. Our server was really sweet too. We will certainly be back.
Only been once. Their seafood pasta special was delicious! A friend told me to always get the special.
The staff was great the pasta sauce and seafood was great I was surprised the Penne noodle wasnt made in house or better quality it tasted like no name.
Phoned the restaurant after noticing a discrepancy between their website and Facebook page with respect to hours (Facebook indicated they were closed on Thursdays). Rather than simply informing me that they were in fact open, got a rather sassy earful from the lady about if you checked our actual website, youd know were open Would have liked to try the food, but with an attitude like that I will keep me business elsewhere.
Excellent food, excellent service, covid safe place
Had the Gnocchi al forno puttanesca with fresh mozzarella tonight. Highly recommended! We did curbside pickup because of covid restrictions and the food was still piping hot when we got it home. The portions are ample. Thought there might be leftovers for lunch but it was so delicious we couldn t resist finishing it all.
Great meal, great service in a relaxing setting. Food was properly spiced and well presented. Would go again.
Perfect meal! I wish we had thought to take pictures! My friend and I opted for tonight s special: salmon with crispy skin on a bed of shrimp risotto with scallops and mussels. The vegetable medley was a lovely accompaniment: julienne carrots, green beans, and asparagus. There was a generous portion of salmon on the plate, and the shellfish was delicious. One of the best meals I have ever had. The service was friendly and attentive as always. Highly recommend this place!
2 dinners were sent back to kitchen. Not up to standards.
Awsome food and service! Little noisy but this is part of the charm. Prices are not steep. Highly recommend.
First time there. Pleasantly surprised by the menu which offered a lot of variety. Food was tasty and the service good. Sauce with oysters needed more horse radish though IMO.
The gnocchi al forno puttanesca will forever be the holy grail comparison for fluffy & light gnocchi pillows and the best of all puttanesca sauces. The pappardelle Caico e Pepe with seared scallops was perfectly prepared. The spaghetti bolognese did not disappoint - the just like Nonna s Sunday Sauce, was delicious and brought back many memories. The daily risotto topped with seared fish was thoughtfully composed and prepared to perfection.
Excellent service and great meal.
Love this special little place. Nicest people. Best food. And BEST cappuccino Ive ever had.
Great food, excellent service and so friendly.
Had an amazing meal here. The staff was friendly and attentive. Started off with the mussels and had the featured fish of the day - seared halibut and scallop on a shrimp risotto. The fish was perfectly cooked, the skin was crispy but the meat was still nice and juicy. Finished off with the chocolate espresso torte. Everything was delicious but the fish definitely was my favourite. One of the best resturants Ive tried in Halifax. Would definitely come again!
high end Italian. excellent food
Love this little bistro. Every dish spectacular.
Delicious food
Superlative service, atmosphere and food. Every time.
This little spot has great food and a large curved community table in the centre. The server was knowledgeable and the owner was present. It offers an unrushed Italian experience. Personally, I do not like the chairs. The featured cocktail was very unique but over priced. The tiramisu is excellent.
Great food and great service!
My wife got ahead and ask for a table for 3, the staff at that point were nice and sat her while I park the car. As soon as I got there with my 2 year old daughter everything changed. They told us they will have to give us another table so they made us stand up and wait, and wait to be seated even though there were tables available. It took so long that we ended up leaving the restaurant. My conclusion... they dont like kids at all, and their behavior changes if you go with a baby or a toddler. VERY VERY BAD!
Sumptuous Italian cuisine in a friendly atmosphere.
The food was wonderful and the aperol spritz was the perfect pairing. They also have take and bake. They were so nice to my toddler and even brought him a lovely bowl of gelato with berries. We will be back!
Small menu, very well done. Flavours are fresh and pop out nicely. Very good price. Pleasing decor that lets the food speak for itself. The bagna cauda is superb, not too garlicky or anchovie laden. My salsa verde pasta was super fresh and I ate half my moms bolognese which was also light and tasty. I ate there a few days ago and was prompted to write this review by eating in a lousy italian restaurant up the road yesterday and being reminded of how hard it is to make good simple food.
Very limited menu but the food and service were good
Took a friend here recently who just moved here from Toronto and we both had the scallop carbanera which was AMAZING. We both raved to the staff and were so happy we went. Special gem in Halifax for sure!
I had the special of the day which was salmon cooked with shrimp over ravioli and it was amazing!!! Huge piece of salmon, shrimp cooked just right and a small but perfect amount of pasta to compliment The sauce was so tasty. The calamari was the best Ive ever had. Didnt care too much for the garlic bread but meal was perfect!! Having the rest for lunch tomorrow PS - the lemon tart is to die for
Service was impeccable, the food was rich and delicious. The space is very small though and a bit cramped.
Lovely salmon
Great food
Amazing service, beautiful atmosphere, and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this spot... I will definitely be back!
Had a wonderful meal with my cousins. Great service, warm tasty food. Moderately priced. Cozy atmosphere. Would go again for sure.
Terry and Simone are true pros. Halifaxs gold standard for full serve independant restaurants.
Awesome service. Delicious food.
A lot of great things wrapped up in a simple yet elegant package. Our server was perfect, attentive, courteous and the perfect compliment to our meals. Everything was obviously fresh and prepared to order, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this venue for any and all lovers of fine dining.
It is on a pricey end but they have a great fusion menu selection
Service and food.. incredible
Excellent meal, ambiance and service
The food was excellent, service and atmosphere were nice and the coffee was divine. We will be back for sure :)
Really good food. But was a little pricey.
Amazing food and service!
Great jood and service. Not a large restaurant, nice atmosphere.
First visit: Nov 2016 - Waited patiently for this place to open for the last few weeks, and finally got to try it for lunch on a cool, sunny Wednesday in late November. (they opened the prior Thursday). Walked in at noon and we were greeted warmly and immediately, being offered our choice of any of the two-seater tables by the window. The restaurant itself is solarium-style, not overly big, but glass all around for lots of natural lighting. There is a snake-shaped large table in the center that would seat a group of 18, and I counted seating for 34 more in the regular tables around the perimeter. Nice, clean, modern, minimalistic decor. Table service was very friendly as well. They offer free bread with whipped butter, and the bread seems to be a cornmeal or polenta, but was warm out of the oven and delicious. My friend and I both tried the lunch special for $16 (soup and 1/2 order of pasta), which was a perfect portion. Their soup de jour was a tomato basil and was just right for the chilly day outside. Lots of flavor and very creamy. I had the Aglio e Olio sauce on my spaghetti, with a touch of pomodoro in it to give a spicy tomato kick. He tried the beef/pork bolognese sauce and quotes it as redolent of fresh tomatoes and a touch of wine. Full flavored and moderately seasoned (could use a touch more salt OR more parmesan which would have upped the saltiness. He requested a rigatoni pasta in lieu of the spaghetti, which was cooked perfectly al dente. Both satisfied, we still chose to squeeze in dessert. I had the creme brulee (dark chocolate itself with a large hard piece of biscotti, garnished with a kumquat ($10). It was delicious but I couldnt finish it. He had the Profiteroles (double vanilla bean gelato, warm mole sauce $10) which he said was very good. Two puffs for the serving. 2nd visit: a sunny Thursday for lunch in February. The place was a bit busier this day so we had to sit at the large group table, which was fine. Very friendly service again and the server commented that she remembered us from the first visit! LOL My friend ordered almost the exact same dish as last time, whereas I tried the Lentils (Lentils Caponata, toasted seeds, goat cheese, kale and Tunisian spice $14). Wasnt sure what to expect, but it was decent, thrown together like a salad, and just hit the spot for satisfying my hunger without leaving me full going back to work for the afternoon. Came for brunch one overcast Saturday in Jan 2018 and there was only one other table taken when I arrived. Friendly, quick service. Tried the Eggs Benedict (choice of peameal bacon or cold smoked salmon, croissant, preserved lemon hollandaise, Italian home fries or green goddess salad $15) with the greens. It was very good and very filling, although I generally dont prefer my Benny on a croissant. Nice for a change. Most recent visit: July 2019 for lunch on a hot Tues. Place not busy. I got the Lasagne (homemade pasta, bolognese, herbed ricotta, provolone, green goddess salad $17) which was very flavorful, fresh and filling. My friend had the Panino al Pollo (crispy fried chicken, provolone, tomato, bacon, salsa verde aioli, milk bun, frites or goddess salad $17) which comes burger style vs panini style. Also very flavorful, a bit greasy/messy to eat and he had to use a fork & knife at the end, but satisfying. The side of potato isnt a lot, but just right to hit the spot. We shared for dessert the Lemon Tart (lemon curd, berry cream, meringue $10) which was great as well, served with fresh berries, the merinque was thick but light like marshmallow fluff almost. Staff very attentive, topping up our waters constantly. Look forward to coming here some evening eventually.
Very good food, Italian style menu, smaller portions.
Great Italian Food! Loved their gnocchi!
Authentic and great service !
My girlfriend and I went here for our first anniversary earlier this week. This place is by no means cheap. But it is seriously worth every single penny. The food will make you pause with every bite. The serving staff are all super friendly and know exactly how much time to give between checking in and how long to check in for. We have already agreed that instead of going to dates at other places once a month we will go here once every two to three months. If I could give six stars I would give seven. PS. I want that Roman bread recipe I could eat loaves of the stuff.
This is certainly one of my favourite restaurants on the peninsula. The food quality and portions are superb, and customer service is excellent!
Great food, great service! Brunch Club was a hit all around
Fantastic Italian food in a cozy setting. Have been for both dinner and brunch and both were great.
Smiling faces! Great menu! Great service! Fantastic food!
Excellent service and delicious food. Moderate cost. No obvious vegan options, but I expect one can easily order off-menu. Vegetarians will be able to find delicious meal choices. Plenty of selections for omnivores.
I had been meaning to go here for ages. Finally did, and OMG it was good! The portions were great - I left feeling extremely full. My boyfriend had the steak - it was amazing. Cooked perfectly. I had the fish of the day (crispy salmon, with scallops and a lobster hollandaise sauce, and fish cake) - I will have dreams about that meal for years to come. Highly recommend. Can t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.
Always a wonderful time!
This place is awesome. We are visiting from from British Columbia and we love this place. Very friendly service, quirky/casual atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, great value. We will be back!
Delicious high end dining.
Over priced. Pretentious
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was classy, social and welcoming. We received the perfect amount of attention and the staff were friendly. They were able to accommodate all of my dietary needs and were happy to do it. I highly recommend this restaurant! .
Pretty good food. Very pricey. Very pleasant, attentive service. A+ for accessibility.
Amazing atmosphere, service and food is so delicious
Casual atmosphere, attentive staff, great wine list, and amazing food! We started with the Calamari and a bottle of italian savignon blanc. I had a pesto cod on special that day and my wife had the chicken pasta dish with hazelnuts. Both were excellent. Our glasses were never empty as the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. From the moment we walked in till we left it was 5 star service. Will be back!
Great attention to detail with the menu, drinks, and service.
Gorgeous place, amazing staff and great service. The food was fantastic!
Wonderful lunch, lots of food and very pleasant atmosphere.
Amazing food, atmosphere and hospitality.
The food was really great. We had arancini, lobster ravioli and the tagliatelle dishes, and I would highly recommend the first two. The prices were pretty high though, so it will definitely be an occasional treat.
Absolutely could not hear conversation with the people at our table! There is no sound dampening surfaces with all the windows. It wasnt even full. Cant image when it is. The deafing sound runied what msy have been good food. We were so distracted by the noise the 6 of us dont remember the food.
Went for our 22nd anniversary dinner. We had calamari, ravioli & cioppino. All excellent dishes & the staff are a well oiled machine. Very impressed by the quality & quantity of the food. The cioppino was glorious to look at and to eat! Note on the dark chocolate creme brulee; it was good, but surprisingly, this chocolate fan prefers a traditional creme brulee. Very nice decaf cappucino. We will be back!
Delightful place, lots of natural light and a great menu.
We had a really enjoyable family experience at Mappatura. The atmosphere, food and service were all excellent. Would definitely recommend it as a family friendly restaurant.
Intimate dining experience. Ravioli was amazing! Service was friendly and we were all taken care of. I definitely recommend!
