Very unprofessional kitchen staff, cancelled my order which was done at 10:18, the restaurant closes at 11, I was waiting for food and left with no other options by the time I found out my order was cancelled. Totally unethical, unpredictable & unprofessional kitchen staff!!!

We recently tried the paneer tikka, and unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The paneer was extremely dry, and the marination was not done properly, leaving it tasteless and bland. It lacked the expected flavors and spices that make a good paneer tikka stand out. Overall, it was underwhelming and far from enjoyable.

Birayani is not Dum , it s. rice mixed with gravy and heated. Request the hotel management not to spoil the name of birayani , please mention in your menu Non Dum Biriyani. Food : 1/5

Update 1: 2024/10 Came here after a while for a friends birthday dinner, and I was in for a pleasant treat. We got a Afghani tikka, garlic naan, and korma. All of them done well! Might come again. OLD REVIEW; rated 1/5 Most plain Indian food I had in a while. Got served with something that barely qualifies as tomato rice as Biriyani. Its just boiled rice sprinkled with chicken, clove, and cinnamon sticks.

Well drove 400 kms from Sydney till here for a day and missed the good old Indian Dining Experiences... All because Besharam reminded me of the same taste I have had multiple times back home in Mumbai & Pune!!!! No kidding, the chef actually knows Indian food taste. Kudos to the chef!! I have had Indian food at multiple places in NS but so far this is the best place!! The overall experience is great like we fine dine back home. Food eaten: Chic. 65 Beet Crocquets Jalepeno Butter Garlic Naan Paneer Tikka Masala Delhi murg tikka masala Kulfi Gulab Jamun... Negatives: None for food.. None for ambience.. None for experience.. Only thing I think it may be a bit expensive for students.. although no worries for me as for the food and experience it was worth to the last cent.!! Indians dont miss this place!!!

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and it was quite disappointing. We arrived 3 hours before closing with also pre-booked slot, but it took 30 minutes just to have our order taken. We then waited for over an hour for our food, which was not worth the wait. When the food was finally served, the server rudely gave us a last call for ordering. We explained that we had just received our order after such a long wait and hadn t even tasted the food or checked the quantity yet, so we didn t know if we would need to order anything else. She started arguing in a rude manner, saying the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes and it was our last call. One of the worst decisions and it ruined our weekend closure.

Amazing food! Their Tikka Masala was so rich and creamy, absolutely delicious. We also got the chicken vindaloo and it was very good. We are on a mission to try all the new Indian places downtown and right now, Besharam is our favorite. Will be back for sure!!

This place deserves more praise. Honestly did not know a restaurant could accommodate to allergies so well. The chef is a wizard and staff are super friendly. Definitely a must go Dietary restrictions: Allergic to dairy and gluten. Many options for me. and the chef made a dish that normally couldn t be dairy free using cashews. So awesome

Caveat: Im writing this review from the perspective of an American. We found this place by accident as the original place we wanted to go to was closed. We thought we were walking into a bar & grill. Spoiler alert: Its not a bar and grill. Its an Indian restaurant. An Indian restaurant with great food! Mango malai chicken was great. Naan was great. The waitress barely checked in on us and the kitchen was too slow.

Besharam serves best food in Halifax. We had our second visit yesterday and totally enjoyed it. Everything right from the ambience to the service and food was fabulous . Jayshree and the other guy with specs deliver exceptional service to the customers. I would highly recommend this restaurant and request management to increase the wages for these hard working people. 10/10

I came in at lunch and it was amazing. Kithi was our server and she was attentive, inviting and also very proud of where she works. She took me through to see the really cool murals on the restaurant side since we had sat on the bar side. The aesthetics of this place are amazing so either someone has a secret talent as an interior designer or they hired someone who knew what they were doing. I also loved the decorative roses on brick out on the patio. I kept stealing glances just to admire it. The food was delicious we got a few dishes and the dal makhani was super satisfying (saying this as a dal makhani lover and we all know that it tastes different everywhere but this place makes it super well) but everything was on point. Overall cool vibes and delicious food makes it a place I would definitely consider returning to.

Over expensive food with not that much quality.you can cook better than their food and the quantity is almost 2/10.i paid $21 for paneer tikka which has only 2 or 3 piece of paneer.the worst part is their customer service,they don t know how to deal with customer.I mentioned the price of tikka including tax.

I am so thrilled to have found a place with authentic Indian dishes!!! The dal tadka and chicken tikka, instantly transported me back to India. The food is absolutely delicious and I keep coming back for the flavors, the ambience and excellent service. My servers, Tanvai & Jayashree were professional and kind. I have to highlight Mark who makes a mean old fashioned! Definitely a place to check out if you re looking to spice up your palette & I ll be back soon to check out the brand new menu! :)

This is not a place to go if you are in a rush, but great place to enjoy a high quality meal with friends where you can hear conversation because of quiet atmosphere. Delhi street style chicken was delicious. The sign downstairs refers to burger restaurant, but this Indian restaurant is upstairs to the left. Vegetarian options: Both vegetarian and vegan options. Servers help you select. You can modify the vegetarian appetizer platter to be more vegan if you prefer.

Food was amazing The temperature in there was too hot and no AC they added 100$ service fee on our bill total from they own side And even the bill which we got did not had the exact amount of alcohol bought Overall not a great experience

Just one word - Amazing ! Best food ever had here in Nova scotia. Ankur was really great in recommending tbe dishes and drinks. If in doubt, just go with his suggestion , no regrets ! The food and service was absolutely impeccable. My partner said it reminded her of home and absolutely loved it. Only lost one point because it was quite warm inside the restaurant, but the place itself is very beautiful, clean and welcoming. We will be coming back!

I went for dinner last night and the service was terrible , the servers were so rude and they kept on asking are you done , it looked like they want us to rush and leave so that they can accommodate more people , and we were there only for like 40 mins . We could clearly see the difference that how they were treating the non Indian people in a much better and polite way , and being at an indian restaurant this is something you don t expect . All in all , it was such a bad experience as I had much higher expectations from this restaurant and was excited to try it .

I am not a picky person but this time I went for a dinner with my brother and my experience was terrible. So I end up putting a review for them. I don t get the point is if your customers told that we want everything together and you just gave is things one by one to your table and moreover they were cold too. The restaurant wasn t even busy. Servers didn t even check on us if we need anything or not. The food is good but it s just served cold lol. Man if I am paying you guys for a fine-dining experience atleast give your table a fine-dine service too. The server tbh didn t even knew what the heck she s doing. Ok, thee best chicken wings downtown by far!! And Ive tried a lot of wings in my lifetime from Korea to Vancouver, and everywhere in between Vancouver and Halifax. Try for yourself and see. Had an excellent experience at Besharam! The decor is stylish and fun, and the ambiance is great for a date night. Our server (I think her name was Kirti) was just lovely and super attentive. The menu is full of interesting dishes that I ve never seen at another Indian restaurant it was so hard to decide what to order, but Kriti recommended the gobi manchurian for a starter, which ended up being our favourite item. Will absolutely be back to try more!

Let s be honest. Plenty of Indian restos in Halifax are sub-par. I am very impressed by the food here and the menu selection. Great classics and some interesting dishes too. The combination of spices was absolutely on point and nothing was too oily. Lamb curry super tender and excellently flavoured. Don t miss happy hour from 4-6!

I placed an order for classic chicken tikka, garlic naan, and tandoori roti. The tikka was juicy and felt freshly made, and both of the bread were quite soft. Ive eaten at every restaurant in Halifax, and this, in my opinion, has the best tandoori roti. The taste of breads was same like Brampton restaurants .The breads were larger than last time that is what we expected for this amount of money. Additionally, the service was prompt. Maintain it, Beshram team. Undoubtedly, Ill return soon.

Went there for the first time. The place was so nice and clean. I was impressed the way the whole restaurant was maintained. I was hosted by kirti, and she also recommended me chicken appetizer, which was very amazing.Iwanted to try the seafood soup, but it was not there, maybe next time. My favorite thing about the restaurant was that I was sitting near the kitchen but still there was no noise coming out from there which was impressive . Would like to come there again only if they add masala tea or filter coffee in their menu. Anyone who is in area should go there.

Honestly, I read the reviews that the service is slow. Trust me, service is super SLOW. we had to wait for every dish that we ordered. The Delhi wall murgh masala was salty. Girls who were serving were nice though overall it was not a Wow experience.

If you are looking to try out some good authentic Indian food in Halifax this is a must visit place. We ordered lamb dum biryani with salan which was amazing. The soya chaap and the garlic naan were so so good. The only dissapointment was thier dessert (shahi tukda).

Always a fun experience dining at Besharam. Cocktails have an Indian touch, appetizers are good, and all the main dishes are served in ample quantity. Beyond the fun ambience of the place we also always enjoy talking to the servers who are informative and suggest food and beverage pairings per individual tastes.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff..special thanks to Kriti, Rahul and the Chef....I made a special request about not including ghee or butter in my food and I was wholly satisfied with the way my request was handled. Food was amazing Best Indian food u can get in Halifax. Little pricey but worth it. Ive tired non veg platter, nothing was disappointing, every item was well marinated and tasty with Indian touch. Mutton biryani was good worth trying, but not very hyderabadi. Shahi tukda is my fav from this place, its the best dessert you can get here, light and authentic.

First day of school, great way to kickstart the semester with some good food and drinks on the patio before diving into coursework. Had the delicious onion pakora, kerala style wings and the dahi puri (with extra chaat masala) which is my absolute favorite. Beautiful staff, great service and absolutely amazing food

Ill start with the good. The food is absolutely phenomenal. Some of the best Indian food Ive had in Halifax. The bad, though, is that our service was absolutely abysmal. The restaurant was virtually empty (I think there were 2 other tables aside from us the majority of the time we were there), and it was well over 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken, and after and additional 30 minutes of waiting after our drinks were delivered, I had to go find someone to take our order. We were never checked on. I had to find someone to ask for water refills several times, and they split our bills incorrectly. An automatic gratuity was added to our bill (we were a party of 7, which seems a little small for automatic gratuities to me, but maybe Im wrong) otherwise I dont know that I would have left any kind of gratuity.

I took my jaan here for his birthday and we had the best time. Service was top notch, drinks were lush and the food was delicious. We tried a dish with jackfruit - its a new fav of mine. Thank you for bringing some of the best food to Halifax! We will be back :D

Had a lovely time at Besharam. A nice indian restaurant that has good food and even better vibes. The salmon tikka was great. The chicken 69 biryani(that s not a typo lol) was also great although hope they add a typical chicken with bone option(more Hyderabadi style). Does come with a bit of raita so that s always good. The Kofte were amazing. The gravy stole the show. The Paneer kulcha was nothing special though. The decor, the music and the seating is comfortable. We weren t lucky enough to try their patio but maybe next time. The food overall is not big on quantity so keep that in mind. The presentation was great and does have a level of finesse I haven t seen with many indian restaurants here. Definitely a great spot to relax and just have a good time with friends and family.

Taste is great Quantity of chicken they serve is really less in full portion of curry.We ordered delhi wali murg makhani. they served us with only 3 pieces of chicken which is only enough for 1 person.

Oh my god. It is so flavourful! The butter chicken has a bit of sweetness to it that I really loved. The vindaloo was also great! The naan is cooked to perfection. Drinks are lovely, service is very friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough. One thing I miss about Ontario is all the authentic foods from different cultures and I m really happy to see this brought to the HRM.

The food was delicious, with a good selection of drinks as well. I only noticed the waitress who served us touched my glass from the top while serving. I mean, It would be pleasant and professional if you served the glass by grabbing it from the bottom. Other than that, the place is super cool.

Naan cooked fresh but small with zero volume, and a bit too crisp... for 6$ robbery, they played country music and had sports on the tvs.. weird vibes for an Indian place.. also the servers were very unattentive and the place wasnt busy, considering the more authentic options in the area Id give it a miss to be honest, that is unless you like 15 dollar cocktails while listening to country music

I had an amazing experience at besharam! First of I want to appreciate the ambience and hospitality provided by the team. They were so welcoming and assisted us with anything we needed. The service felt personalized and not pedestrian. I went there with my friends and we shared the non veg sampler! The portions were so good and the flavours were the closest to Indian food back home! I would highly recommend this place for a cozy vibe and an authentic experience!

Had a worst experience, went to have a nice Friday dinner started with starters and a beer and after few minutes thought of ordering more food as we were only having our starters but the server was sitting on my nerves to get the bill she was not bothered to ask if we were done or not and I see the restaurant was not too busy either. The lady server literally wanted us to pay bill and move and when asked why she was rushing us she said there may be more people coming and want the tables be available what about the people who were already in I have never had to experience such a situation and recommend a big no to this restaurant. We spend our hard earned money just to have some good time but these kind of experiences make me feel is it really worth of going to the restaurants like this.

We ve been here twice in the past two months and have tried the chilli chicken, chicken korma, goat biryani, paneer tikka, and butter chicken. We ve also tried several of the signature cocktails and everything has been amazing. The service is always inviting and attentive too. Can t say enough good things.

While the foods taste was undeniably delicious and left my taste buds dancing, I couldnt help but feel disappointed by the service we received. Lets start with the positives: the culinary experience at Besharam was outstanding. From the appetizers to the desserts, every dish tasted good. However, the euphoria from the culinary journey was significantly dampened by the service. The word pathetic accurately describes the service I encountered. It was not just one isolated incident but a series of disappointments throughout the evening. Once seated, it took an eternity for someone to bring us menus and take our drink orders. The server appeared flustered and inattentive, making us feel like an afterthought. Throughout the meal, we had to repeatedly flag down the server for drink refills and to place our orders. The lack of communication and delays in service were frustrating. In fact, I eventually had to personally walk over to the bar to retrieve ice after waiting for nearly 40 minutes. Compounding our frustrations, there were notable delays between the arrival of our dishes, disrupting the natural flow of the meal. It became apparent that there was a significant lack of coordination within the kitchen and among the staff. To cap it all off, the restaurant was even out of Roti, an unexpected disappointment at an Indian dining establishment. In conclusion, the service provided during my visit was truly disappointing. While the taste of the food will linger in my memory, it will be difficult to forget the subpar service. I hope that the restaurant can address these service issues.

The food is by far the best and most authentic Indian food,i strongly recommend there paneer butter masala, I cant say much about non vegetarian food as I am vegetarian.the only suggestion would be to lower cost a little. If you do not want to be disappointed hit the place. Vegetarian options: Panner butter masala

PEOPLE DONT EVEN THINK OF COMING HERE!! All 5 star reviews yall see here are paid. 1. They almost take 1 hr to prepare your food cause most probably have 1 cook to prepare all meals 2. Food is super spicy and hot, uneatble, i drank two cups of milk after exiting from mcdonalds still ending up vomiting and number 2 was so painful and burning the next morning 3.prices are over the roof spent almost $80 for 2 people, quality was garbage, foods was 99% leftover and frozon carrots used NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN IN LIFE!!

Overall the food wasn t delicious and the quantity was less. Especially, the chicken 69 biriyani, idk what they meant by that.. to be honest Besharam need to taste the actual Chicken 69 biriyani from any other places. Felt like every dishes has same taste . I am very disappointed to spend my money for nothing.

Definitely need to work on their service which is really slow if they are charging 15% for the service. We waited about 45 min to get our food

The Paneer Butter Masala and Karahi Paneer were exceptionally tasty, complemented perfectly by the flavorful Chilly Garlic Naans. Tanvai, our server, provided excellent service, attentively taking feedback and recommending delicious dishes. A must-visit for flavorful Indian cuisine!

This is a great place to get Indian food in Downtown Halifax. I have been there a couple of times and have never been disappointed. While it may be a bit pricier compared to other restaurants, the higher price reflects the taste of the dish you order. In my personal opinion, I still prefer Adda biriyani over Besharam.

Excellent food quality. I recommend preordering just because of the wait time. Little expensive but worth it.

Great ambiance and food. A little costlier than other Indian restaurants in the area but that comes with live music and excellent tasting food. The service was great. Food came quickly. This place gets full very soon. We tried to reserve a table but none was available. We showed up and managed to get one after a short wait. Had a great time with friends.

My first time here and I loved it so much. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and it arrived quickly. The Sampurna cocktail was so yummy as well.

Really great service. The food was awesome. Ill go back. Vegetarian options: There is a great selection of vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan options. Even a couple of things o the menu that they modified as vegan for us! Really nice.

Well, food was really delicious but the service and atmosphere I didnt like as service was too slow, and when i asked for more indian bread (roti) server asked me it takes near about 15 minutes, but that was just 1 roti. I asked to server like, if it takes 15 minutes our other food is going to be cold. I said to her, can you ask chef, may be he or she can do it fast. She just said we cook food according to the orders. Today, I tried food in India Paradise, their food, service and atmosphere was really good, so recommend to everyone to visit India Paradise for Indian food. Thank you
