Uniting our love for the east coast & passion for Italian tradition through an authentic culinary experience. Specializing in seafood, meats, pasta and wine.
Always a great restaurant to eat at. Food basics made there, authentic, fresh and delicious. Tiramisu made daily as well. Its seriously delicious.
I came out for lunch with a friend the other week. I had an amazing time! Leonardo was very friendly and passionate. I enjoyed my meal. Gluten free noodles were a little overcooked which happens most places so I didn’t mind. Definitely more of a date spot!
Fantastic little place with amazing food and even more amazing staff! Shout out to Adam and Rhoda and of course Leo..., very fabulous people that make you feel very welcome! We ended up doing the dinner with wine tasting and were very impressed, so much we had to go back to have the Italian dinner the next night. Definitely recommend... It's a true gem, Cheers
I live in BC but come to Halifax every year. Regazzi is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best restaurant in the city. Top tear food, exceptional service, everything you want in a restaurant. What blew me away most, the second time I went, the owner recognized myself and my coworkers despite only having been there once. The server Adam even remembered my name the second and third time I went back. I attended one of their Wine evenings and I swear to God it was enough for two. If you only are in town for one night and can only eat at one restaurant this one is worth it, worth every penny and every pound you gain. I will bet my life on it that you will love it.
Went on a busy night but our reservation guaranteed seating ! The wait may have been long but the food was worth it . The owner and our server were attentive to our requests keeping us happy through our visit !
Went in for happy hour and we were pleasantly surprised by the absolutely warm and cozy atmosphere, true east coast hospitality and amazing food and drinks. Our server was fantastic and staff were extremely hospitable and the live music was such a lovely touch. This is truly a gem in Halifax and was a highlight of our trip!
Great experience all around ! The food was delicious, we got the $2 Oysters special for appetizers and the Margherita pizza. They are very kid friendly and our server, Adam, was great.. He worked with us for an allergy and went out of his way getting my daughter a chefs hat to decorate with crayons ! I can't wait to be back for more pizza :) I also heard the gnocchi is amazing !
Super yummy lobster roll and the fries were spectacular. Service was attentive and quick. I thought the coffee crunch bar was a bit too sweet but the mouse on it was good. Definitely would come back again for the food!
Our waiter Adam went above beyond to make our night perfect. Food was fabulous!
I have walked by this place many times and never got a chance to go in and I finally did and so glad that I did. The staff were super friendly and the owner was on hand to meet with guest and chat. I had the the ravioli and it was amazing. just like mamma used to make. Honestly, I am Italian and it was better than my mamma could make and she used to be a chef in a nice Italian restaurant. Thank god my mom does not know how to use the internet to read this or I would be morto!
Amazing service and delicious food
Fantastic pasta! The tiramisu is to die for!
Kind of fantastic actually. Authentic. I ll be back. Food
One of the worst restaurant experiences that I ve had in my life. I came here with some friends to celebrate the end of the fall semester and the atmosphere in here was absolutely rancid. You could hear him yelling at the serving staff and berating them since we had seats close to the bar. He was yelling and screaming at them for no reason to the point that it was genuinely uncomfortable. It He seemed like a genuinely abhorrent person and I was very sorry that the staff (who were lovely and very kind) had to deal with him.
This restaurant has so much potential if it wasnt for the attitude and terrible behavior of the head chef, Leo. When I went to the restaurant I saw and heard him berating wait staff and saying absolutely atrocious things to them. The way he treats them violates workplace standards and should result in Leos dismissal. Very disappointing to see such a person in a position of authority.
I had the chance to enjoy this spot. The food was good but the atmosphere is outstanding. We had our Xmas party there and the servers are outstanding (Lucas).I would go back any day. Thank you to all the staff for a great night
Food was mediocre at best, only two other tables that night, staff were excellent, we could hear the chef yelling at the staff several times. We asked the staff if they were okay and told them they don t have to put up with bullying.
We were visiting the area and are both lovers of Italian food. We discovered this place which was off the beaten path a bit, while on a walk. When we got back to our hotel, we made reservations for the following night. Showed up only to be told they could not honor our reservation because the fire department had just been there. We did see a fire truck driving nearby as we were walking to the restaurant. The confusing thing was that the restaurant was full of diners, as well as a piano player (who had to summon someone to greet us) so it wasn t like it had to be evacuated. Who knows what the issue was but we were very disappointed. The young gentleman (who acted as if the place was the fanciest restaurant in the world with the way he presented himself) gave us the bad news & said he wished he could do something for us. So, we unfortunately decided to try again another night. Bad decision! We were greeted quickly this time (by the same pretentious acting young man from the previous failed attempt) & seated immediately. But it all went downhill from there. We told the server we came in the other night and we re turned away due to fire co having been there. He barely acknowledged this so we knew he wasn t going to do something for us as he stated he would previously. We ordered a bottle of wine which took about 25 minutes to be brought to the table. We weren t given any water or bread (like most Italian restaurants do) and were not acknowledged again during our 1 HOUR wait to have our order taken. Finally, we order. I have food allergies and ordered veal parm to accommodate those allergies. When the food finally came out about an hour & a 45 minutes after we arrived, the veal was covered in sauce & cheese, both of which I asked to be held. The server seemed annoyed that I wasn t going to eat it & reluctantly took it back to the kitchen. Meanwhile my husband got & finished his meal before mine was delivered, correctly this time - no sauce/no cheese. However, the veal was undercooked & barely room temperature. I was so hungry at this point that I went ahead and ate it. After, the server asked how everything was. I was honest & said it was not great . You would ve thought I was insulting him personally, given his reaction. I think this guy needs to tone down the drama a bit. There had been a cooking class taking place & perhaps that was what took so long for service & food, as both our server & a chef or 2 were too busy with that to take proper care of their other customers. The place gave me a mob owned vibe. The owner & his posse sat at a table the entire time except when they went out to smoke & brought the smell of it back in with them. Never lifted a finger to help anyone. Lastly, the decor is outdated & quite frankly, cheap looking. Dozens of candies lit by the front door but still so dark & dreary inside with ugly furnishings and decorations. Avoid this place!!!
By far the worst experience weve had with any restaurant ever. The place was empty, smelled a little Funny from the moment we walked in but thought to give it a try anyway. The food was below par and bland we ordered the dozen oysters, some were Rotten/funny tasting and smelled just awful. The owner was aggressive, rude and made some inappropriate remarks when we mentioned the rotten oysters, we just wanted to pay and get out of there. Although we were the only people in this restaurant the service was also very slow. Our waitress was nice and very professional but never in my life have I been attacked by an owner of an establishment like that, for not liking the food or finishing our plates, definitely will not be coming back and I tell everyone I know to stay away from this horrible experience of a restaurant. Food can sometimes be a hit/miss, Chefs have good days and bad, so that is understandable but the behaviour of the rude and obnoxious Owner is what makes this experience the worst.
Favorite Italian Restaurant in Halifax Fun and friendly staff that make you feel like family! Food : 5/5
i came here over a year ago and the food was subpar for the price. i came back to read the reviews and wanted to say: i will never support a business that is verbally insulting and abusive to their staff. as a former kitchen worker, it is extremely dehumanizing and humiliating to be yelled at and degraded. verbal abuse and harassment is NEVER okay, and even though it is more normalized in the kitchen industry it is not okay there, nor anywhere. the people of halifax do not support local business owners treating their staff so badly. Do Better!
The best Italian food I ve ever had! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the owner was equally welcoming. We had such a wonderful experience, and to top it off, he graciously offered us complimentary tiramisu he made himself at home. It was the softest, most delicious tiramisu I ve ever tasted. I ll definitely be returning!
Best food I ve ever had!
We thought we were going to stop for the $2 oysters (which were great by the way), and ended up staying for the entire evening! It was cozy, the food was great, and the staff were exceptional. The owner was so welcoming, would go here again! Food
Dining at Ragazzi was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, and the ambiance really set the mood for a perfect evening. The menu had something for everyone, and each dish was a work of art not only in presentation but in taste.
Authentic Italian Experience! Ragazzi is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we felt transported straight to Italy. The cozy atmosphere, Italian music, and rustic decor made it such a charming place to dine. The food was simply incredible. We started with the bruschetta, which was so fresh and flavorful.
The food was amazing! The only thing that was better was the staff and owner! Great place for a date night and for true Italian cuisine!
edit2: attached another video of the noise to the review. theyve recently upgraded the speaker to a significantly larger model. edit: the business is now claiming the music comes from a different business on barrington st. there is an attached video demonstrating that this is not the case. if this is how they treat their neighbours, how well do you think youll be treated if you raise an issue? this restaurant has been a menace in the neighbourhood, due playing music at painful volumes at all hours of the day to attract customers due to the bad location. the music drowns out the music on the patio at 2 doors down, and this place doesnt even have a patio. they have no respect for their neighbours, as evidenced by their violation of the sidewalk sign bylaws and noise bylaws. Wheelchair accessibility: it isnt
Dine in will definitely go back. Adam was the best serving staff. Food is amazing!
I had a mushroom risotto and I didnt find the typical taste of a risotto. Was too greasy...not the good taste of the parmesan and the mushrooms very tough. Disappointing.
Best restaurant Ive been too in all of Canada!
Im scared to even write this review. I feel like this might be Halifaxs best kept secret. The food was so authentic and delicious. From the fresh olive oil to the fresh pasta, this meal was perfect. Leonardo was beyond inviting. We ate family style and there was not one aspect to find fault with. Thank you for a perfect meal!
Live music was great, all the employees are inviting and kind, happy hour is a blast as well! 10/10 experience!
Hands down best Italian restaurant on the east coast. The menu is so diverse it allowed a lot of assortment for our whole group. The charcuterie was an absolute favv for many. Delightful staff and noticed very helping to other staff with a very busy evening shows a staff that helps eachother to make the dining experience superb. Overall, there was nothing that I would change. If you haven t been to Ragazzi!!!!! You need to be Parking: 100 feet away free metro parking Ask your server for the voucher to use to exit the parking garage.
I had a terrible experience at Ragazzi Reetobar. When I went to the washroom, I witnessed the owner in the back, angrily kicking a door with a cigarette in his mouth and food in his hand. He was shouting loudly, using offensive language in the kitchen, and treating the staff with absolute disrespect. It seemed like the kitchen staff were overworked and mistreated, almost like they were being treated as slaves rather than employees. The entire atmosphere was hostile and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place if you re looking for a respectful and professional environment. Think twice before you go there.
We found this gem last year and on our next trip back out east we knew had to go again. Everything from the food to the atmosphere is just wonderful. A unique dining experience with live music that too me right back to a piazza in Italy. Highly recommend.
Ughh what can I say, worst customer service and food. I
Quick trip to Halifax from Ontario. We visited for happy hour and were so impressed with the drinks, food, and exceptional service from Adam and Leonardo (the owner) that we returned the next night for a wine tasting with food pairing thank you to Adam & Rhoda for great service. It was an incredible experience with fantastic food, wine, and top-notch service. Highly recommend! Grazie mille!!!
Amazing food, amazing service, everything was so fresh and tasty!! Our first night in Halifax and they did not disappoint, everything was delicious and the service was outstanding, our server was so attentive and the owner came over a few times to check in despite a full house. The live music was lovely!
Was sat at a table and waited at least 10 before having a server ask us if we wanted water. Had to ask for a drink menu, after getting it waited another 10-15 before no one returned and finally left However we did see servers beside our table folding napkins and setting place setting for empty tables. Further more the place was not busy what so ever, maybe 10 tables at best. Would not recommend wasting your time trying to get food here or served.
I stumbled into this gem of Halifax, drawn in by the sound of Dean Martin playing. I sat down and was greeted with a smile and exceptional service. I chose to ordered a simple plate of pasta and was served nothing but the best, from the tomato sauce to the fresh ingredients, it was one of the most delicious plates pasta I had ever eaten topping even my own Nonna s cooking. This place is a beauty, if you haven t stopped by to say hi you re missing out. A 10/10
This is easily the best italian restaurant in Halifax! And leonardo the owner is an amazing host and along side the amazing servers it really felt like I was being taken care of like a King! Very passionate group of people who love the food they make and you can really taste the love and amazing flavor in the cooking! Parking: Free parking and lot of space!
We have been in Halifax for a few days and we have eaten at some well know restaurants. We ate at the Bicycle Thief and it was very good but Ragazzi was next level! Everything from wait staff to the owner stopping by our table and the food! Oh my gosh the food! What a blend of flavours. Hands down the best meal Ive had in Nova Scotia.
Don t miss this Italian gem in Halifax. Chef Leonardo comes to each table and greets the guests and then puts them into the capable hands of Adam the server extraordinaire. I have been to Italy several times and this brought back special memories. I can t emphasize enough the quality of the food and service. Grazie Leonardo and Adam!
Stopped in for happy hour and had a Ragazzi pizza at the bar. I have to commend Chef Leonardo. The pizza was absolutely unbelievable. I was in Sorrento last year and this pizza tops anything I had there. The chef and Adam, the server, have a way of making you feel like you are part of their family. If you travel to Halifax, make sure you stop in for a meal.
Warmly received, tasty meal but music a little too loud. A bit too funky atmosphere...
Horrific work environment.
Food was bland. Not our best night out.
Some of the best Italian food ive had in a while! Amazing experience amazing service and the owner is very kind!
Great comfortable atmosphere, delicious food and perfect service.
Food was incredible with great service
Great food, service, and atmosphere!
Real authentic Italian! Amazing service and atmosphere. Our new go to for date night. Try everything on the menu if you can. The specials are also *chefs kiss*
Vegetarian options: Best vegetarian Pasta Food
Amazing Italian place. Was here on business and this place was recommended by my hotel. What an amazing experience, amazing food, and even better service! Their Chicken Parmigiana is to die for, and everything is homemade, true Italian experience! Adam my sever was the absolute best and the owner Leo was tremendous and they both truly made you feel welcomed and part of the family. Our connection was we are from Ontario and talked about an Italian place his cousin runs in the Oakville area. If you are in Halifax, this place is a must visit!
Beware of prices! The prices shown on this Google search site are significantly out-of-date! The restaurant website is more current, showing prices approximately 50% higher. Food however is excellent and quite copious.
Delightful
Good food, nice staff and good enviroment. Will be back for sure.

We had a ludicrous experience here for my friends birthday. Were seated and not given food or drinks menu s for thirty plus minutes. Ordered rounds of drinks and oysters which never arrived. The tagliatelle was delicious but the size of a TV dinner for 28 dollars, once it finally arrived after 2 hours of waiting, 20 minutes of the fire alarm sounding deafaningly, and no communication from our server. This is the worst experience I ve had at any kind of higher end restaurant. Food was good overall but not worth the price or our time. Our troubles were compensated with a lemon shot that was in my opinion distasteful, and a decent tiramisu but it was all too little too late. The server seemed inconvenienced to serve us for our whole visit.
Normally don t share reviews like this but here we go! Originally made a reso here for my friends bday because I ve heard great things from friends and coworkers. Food was great! BUT, we ordered appetizers and they never came, ordered drinks that never came, the table next to us was a VIP table so they got everything and more right away, (we brought that up and they offered soccer tickets for 2 of us next week, but we were a group of 4 so like I guess f the rest of my group then ) never offered anything else or acknowledged our experience (nor apologized) so I guess I won t be returning here. Especially for a special occasion. Other restaurants in Halifax make birthdays really special and it was a bad experience overall in my opinion. I m a server for context and been to multiple Michelin star restaurants around the world.
Food was great and the live music was awesome
Delicious well made food. Excellent friendly service we had Adam as our waitor and he provided wonderful service and the owner also ensured we had a great experience. Beautifully designed atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
Service was bad took an hour to get apps. We didn t even get napkins in the whole 1.5 hours we sat there. We were scared to order food because of how long the service took. The owner was rude to us because we couldn t give him a way to fix our bad experience he then threw his hands up and yelled and embarrassed us in the middle of the restaurant some! Napkins after we complained about not having any the whole time would have been a good way to fix it! I would say this is more a bar than a restaurant as they do not know how to accommodate a full house. We made reservations, if you had large party s dining at that time you should have let us know and we would have booked some where that we could have actually got served my meal and treated good. This is coming from restaurant owners who were in Taste of Nova Scotia (my parents who were dining with us from out of town).
What a great place and a great experience. Thank you. This place is a must try if you have not!!!
A must go place in Halifax. Great vibe, excellent service by Adam and a warm welcome from Leonardo who truly made feel like home (none of us is Italian). Thanks to Leonardo and Adam.
Ive had a ability to try almost every restaurant in Halifax more than once when traveling for business. The food and service were one of the best Ive had in the city. The decor and atmosphere could use an organized approach as it was a lot of things going on at once. Will for certain return!
Absolutely wonderful service & atmosphere. Barry Colson was playing and singing the night we dined and did an amazing show to keep us entertained while we enjoyed our fantastic dinner. The waitress was very friendly and attentive never leaving us waiting for anything. If you re looking for a dining experience to remember don t miss out on this gem! Parking: Close parking garage which they validated as part of the dining experience.
Our pasta & risotto was undercooked. Lobster was overcooked & tasted like it was leftovers. It didn t seem like we had a full lobster as I had only one claw & my sister had none. Also there was very little lobster for being a whole lobster. The lobster was pre cut so we couldn t tell what was missing.
I seriously can t stress how amazing this place is. The staff are some of the nicest most attentive I ve come across in the city and I cannot get over how good the food is. Seriously. Best restaurant in Halifax, hands down.
We arrrived at Ragazzi for dinner and were greeted by Sweet Caroline played by the entertainer...forgot his name but he was awesome!. We sang our way to our table and we never stopped having fun the entire 3 hours we were there! The service is prompt, friendly and professional. The owner, Leonardo, was always present and made sure we were having a great time. We all commented that it had been the best dining experience we had had in years! The food is also good. We had a variety of pastas and after a few bottles of wine, had just a small taste of the deserts which were also good. I highly recommend this place is you want a fun, memorable evening with great food and better service. We went on a Saturday night so not sure if there is always entertainment but check it out. You wont be sorry.
Great night out with friends.
I cannot give enough praise to Leonardo and his staff. After a very long travel day with two young children my wife and I were blown away how welcoming everyone was. The food was amazing. The service was quick and attentive not to mention the server Adam even joked around with my 3 year old. Highly recommend eating here.
Great ambiance and atmosphere with live music, friendly owner, and delicious, savoury food. Service could be better.
Amazing food, amazing servers, amazing drinks.. from the oysters to the pasta dishes.. to the owner grilling us a lamb kabob.. what a fun experience can t wait to go back Wheelchair accessibility: All one floor
We (a party of 8) agreed that our meals were among the best authentic Italian dishes we ve enjoyed. Try the mussels or their traditional carbonara; so good! Great Italian music in the background and attentive service made for a great night. We went twice in two days, and next time we re back in HFX, we ll go again.
That was a great night. Really good pasta and the tiramisu was out of this world. We went there at the request of my son. We didnt regret it. Vegetarian options: Meatless pasta. Dietary restrictions: Allergies (peanut) of my children were taken into consideration. Kid-friendliness: Maybe more than 12 years old.
Im writing this review so I could bring awareness to the operators of why my experience was unsatisfactory, and hopefully they would improve it. 1. False advertising- huge sign on the chalk board wall stating $35 for a whole Fresh lobster. 2. After expressing interest, we were told it was actually $40 and the price has gone up. We asked if they would honor the posted price, they just said no. We asked how big the lobster is and he just gestured a size with his hand, so we asked for the weight and he said he doesn t know. 3. When asked what goes with the lobster, he said the tail goes with pasta penne rose and the lobster, he wasn t sure, and later said it doesn t come with anything. The other server who might have been the owner or the mgr, restated the special, and said the lobster goes with penne as well. 4. Four of us wanted to order the full lobster, but apparently they only had 3. He said he ll look after us and was going to replace with a tail instead but the math doesn t work. Why would it be the same price for a tail vs a whole lobster where an add on tail to any entree is only $14. We just added two extra tails, $28. One of us asked if the lobster was truly fresh and he said he cooked it 2-1/2 hrs ago and laughed so we thought he was kidding. Anyway, While waiting for our food, one of us went to the washroom and by the bar, there s a seafood display of cooked lobster, oysters and other seafood. He took a snapshot of it and thought it was cool. 5. We ordered a dozen fresh oysters, some of them were crushed. They also weren t firm, more like gooey, later on, when we realized a few things, it made sense why it was like that. I ll explain later. Keep reading. The oysters were not served on ice, we were given 1 lemon wedge, when I ask for more, he game me another tiny slice. No vinegar or cocktail sauce whatsoever. We asked for Tabasco and horseradish. He struggled and shredded fresh radish on the same serving plate causing it to soak since there s some water on the plate, where the oyster shells seat loosely. The amount was so sparse it was unbelievable. We asked for more and he shredded a tiny bit more. We felt embarrassed to ask for more, even if it was clearly insufficient 6. We ordered 2 risotto, to be split for two people each along with the full lobster, but it wasn t served at the same time. The seafood risotto was very undercooked that it was unpleasant to chew. The mussels didn t taste fresh at all, and my friend said the clam wasn t good either. We stopped eating it. The mushroom risotto was more tolerable but too salty. We didn t finish either even if we were splitting it. 7. Finally the lobster came, and my friend who took the picture realized the lobster and other seafood on display were no longer there. We were fairly certain that what was on display by the bar for who knows how long were the ones they reheated and served to us. They said they cooked the whole lobster in butter. Although it was greasy, it did not taste like butter. The shell (claw) was so tough that it took a lot of strength with both hands to.crack it and the shell shattered. The meat was rubbery. Although we were so disappointed and was just trying to stomach the food, we asked for melted butter so we can at least make it more palatable. After a long while, they finally served maybe 2 tbsp of melted butter for each of us , just to find out later on the bill that he charged us $5 each!!! We got tired of criticizing the food since it s spoiling .the night with good company but I never had such a horrific experience. We wanted to support local but I do not wish this experience to anyone so hopefully they realize all the things that went wrong here. The only good things we enjoyed was the wine, focaccia bread and maybe the overpriced octopus appetizer. It was 2 pcs of nicely seasoned tiny tentacles so even though flavor was ok, I do not recommend it. We were overcharged for 4 bottles of sparking water when we only served 2.. But at that time we felt so resigned and want out of there so we just paid
This place is very cozy and an unexpected nook!! The knowledge and food choices were great. Lobster roll shareable app is unlike any roll we ve had. The tortellini s were freshly made a couple of hours earlier and it was obvious. The risotto was packed full of seafood and the sauce was customized to my preference!!!!!! What? Yes and the veal and the pesto pasta were other family favourites. We experienced the freshly cooked pasta out of the Parmesan pan and it was also delicious. They did not rush us and it was relaxed but next level with the tastes and experience. We did not have space but the tiramisu is a must and it didn t disappoint. This was our first time, and won t be our last. We have gone to a couple othe Italian spots in the area but this food and experience has made this place our new go to. Kid-friendliness: They treated our kids like small adults and it was perfect. Our kids like to experience food as well! They are 10 and 12!
Absolute best pasta I have ever had. The bolognese is flavourful and so rich. Leonardo, the owner, is welcoming and engaged.
Ah, mazing. From the server, adam, to the owner. Great food, atmosphere. Highly recommend! Pi,za is yummy
We visited Ragazzi on a Saturday night 7/6/24. Parking was close and comped by the restaurant, asked for and received a nice quiet table as Saturday night is Karoake night. The service was suffering like most business of today, but the owner and the server did their very best. Started with a cocktail that was perfectly mixed, Now the food, it was Great, fresh, and hot , the bruschetta had amazing flavor. The Main course cooked to perfection my scallops, shrimp and black mussels over a bed of spaghetti with a very tasty Gravey (Red Sauce)...lol with all your choices I believe you wont go wrong eating at Ragazzi Restobar. Frank and Kelly Massachusetts U.S.A. Parking: They will give you a ticket to pay for your parking.
Live music while we were there was great. Homemade focaccia was delicious. Food
Worst experience at a Halifax restaurant that we had in a longtime. We were there for my husband s birthday and decided to try a new restaurant. My husband is of Italian descent and we love Italian food. 1. Booked the reservation through their online booking system. Arrived and apparently there was no reservation. Asked to sit at bar for a bit and during that time was not once asked if we wanted water or a drink. 2. Took over an hour to get a glass of water. I had to ask for it 3 times. 3. Appetizers were incorrect. 4. Do not order the Lobster tail - I have never seen a lobster tail look like what we got. Overcooked and came with the appetizers and not with my meal. 5. The pasta was delish. 6. Ordered a bottle of wine but had to ask for it a second time and the wait staff could not recall what one we ordered. When we received the bill, 2 bottles were listed when we barely managed to get the first one. 7. Tiramisu was the best I have ever had. 8. Cappuccino was spot on! 9. The atmosphere has a negative energy. The staff were trying to avoid the owner as much as possible. He appeared to be in a bad mood and spoke poorly to the staff. 10. Steak was very fatty and too many peppercorns on it. For a high-end Italian restaurant, I was extremely disappointed and not happy with our experience.
The food and service were first class! Would highly recommend. This place is a gem.
So so good!
Not good at all
I had Lasagna and its the best lasagna in town.
Good service and good behavior of staffs with customer.
Fantastic authentic Italian dining experience. Leonardo and his team offer an incredible culinary experience. This is the REAL Italian deal, folks. You are greeted at the door with a smile and a warm welcome. The food is the star here. Excellent quality with generous portions, using the best ingredients. With a cozy atmosphere, and the occasional live piano entertainment, you will not be disappointed.
The first red flag should have been when they served our wine in an IKEA rocks glass because the waiter couldnt find the wine glasses. It was extremely loud with a less than ideal music system, which is a sin because Im sure the live music was great but it didnt transmit well through the speakers. It was over stimulating, and if you heard the kitchen ring the bell once, you heard it 100 times, it was incessant (like 4-5 rings each time!). The food was the only redeeming quality...even if the prices on menu were more expensive than advertised on the website. I had the Nonnas lasagna, with Nonnas focaccia bread to start... Nonna knew what she was doing, its a sin the rest of restaurant didnt
Vegetarian options: I took penne alla vodka. it was really delicious. Food
Absolutely the best Italian restaurant! Better than I visited in Rome 2 years ago. Outstanding service and cozy atmosphere Mike. Food : 5/5 |
Stopped in here to give the $2 happy hour oysters a try. They were soooo good. We requested some horse radish to go with them and received some freshly grated right in front of us. Our server, I believe his name is Adam, was super attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our time with him. My husband was kept in supply of beer and I enjoyed TWO cappuccinos! They were very very good! The owner was on hand making sure everyone was happy. Truly has his heart in this restobar. We will definitely return.
Very disappointing experience at Ragazzi. The restaurant was really cold when we arrived and was blaring top hits which was fine but not the vibe we expected. Adam greeted us and was very friendly but slow to take orders. We asked for flat water and got sparkling (not free). My mom asked for lime for her drink and was given white, oozing, old limes which we had to bring to the server s attention. For our appetizer, we ordered half a dozen oysters and got a dozen (the manager changed this when we mentioned it but still another error made). They were not cold or on ice which seemed unusual. The server forgot to punch in chicken for one meal and did not ask me what kind of salad I wanted with mine although the menu advertised it came with one. When I mentioned this, he hesitated and didn t seem to know until I said it says on the menu.. then one was quickly brought out. The food was not warm. This may be because it sat on the counter for some time as they realized we weren t done our apps (because we got more than we ordered and they weren t good). The owner checked in on us and when we told him our food was only OK he offered to take it and heat it up but we had somewhere to be and were already turned off by the experience. In the end, they brought over the full bill then as we were working out payment they brought another receipt back where they comp d one meal. The owner sent the server back to apologize instead of speaking with us himself. We took a quick trip to the washroom before leaving and my partner found a pile of shattered glass swept up in front of the urinal. We would not recommend this restaurant, unfortunately this was one of our worst experiences in Halifax!
Been here a few times now - delicious, authentic food and great staff.
Pizzas were great. Owner is awesome.
My husband and I had lunch here on our first day in Halifax, and absolutely loved it. We try not to go back to the same restaurant twice when we visit a city, but we were so impressed that we went for dinner a few days later. Dinner was by far, even better! We ate at several of the more popular restaurants in Halifax during our week visit, and this was by far our favorite. Not only was the food good, but the service was fantastic. This is a rare gem that needs to be experienced. The interior has a rustic charm, but its the staff and food that makes it a wonderful experience. You wont leave hungry!!
Amazing small restaurant with a family feel! 5 stars is not enough ! Will be one of out go to places for dining in Halifax. Food was hot fresh and drinks were perfect .
Great food, flavour and selection. Drinks were good and the resto vibe was so much fun. Great little place for casual dining.
Leonardo and all of staff at Ragazzi Restobar are amazing. They take great care of me and the food is to die for. The drinks are top notch and you can tell that everyone cares about the customers and the best experience possible. As an Italian I feel like Im back at home.
First time there, food was very good. Calamari, then linguine with delishous meatballs.
Went during happy hour! Had the $2 oysters and thin crust pizza. The quality is above and beyond. Pizza was authentic and hit the spot with their homemade tuscan bomba oil. Coming back for the octopus that s on the hidden menu. Thanks Leo!
AMAZING!! Unexpected! It was a dreary cold rainy day in Halifax and we were here for a few hours on a cruise. We d researched places to eat but were walking past this restaurant around noon and were hungry and decided to stop. The owner was extremely inviting and friendly (from Italy!). We started with a Fontanaftedda Barolo 2019 and homemade garlic bread and knew we d made a VERY good choice to stop! We then had (split between 2) linguine with red sauce and meatballs and margarita pizza. The perfect about of food as we weren t starving. It was BEYOND delicious. My son said it was the best pizza he s ever had and he s eaten pizza ALL thru Europe. I was nervous the atmosphere was going to be too dark or modern based on online pictures, but it was comfy and just lovely. And the food was so yummy. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Italian food!!!
Wonderful experience. Had oysters and a cocktail. The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. Definitely would recommend!
The food was delicious and authentic, and the hostess and wait staff were gracious and hospitable. It was a Tuesday night, so it was quiet, but business was steady. We are only in Halifax for the week, but plan to go back before we head home.
I ve lived in Halifax for 10 years and Ragazzi is the best Italian food on the peninsula! My boyfriend and I went to Italy for two weeks, came home to Halifax and went to Ragazzi for dinner, and we STILL loved it! The mushroom risotto reminds me of a risotto we had during a wine tour in Tuscany. The owner, Leo, ensures personable service!
An incredible restaurant. The owner is personable and kind and truly help me and my partner find a little place of Italy in Nova Scotia.
My wife and I were just at this Amazing place last night. The menu selection should appeal to all. The food was delicious. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, Leonardo. Great guy! Apparently they were short staffed, but the waitresses as well as Leonardo, went above and beyond to make our experience a very memorable one. We are already looking forward to returning. We would highly recommend! Mike & Cindy
Food was amazing, great staff and ambience & the owner is awesome! Penne alle vodka was the best I ve had!
We had supper before going to a show and were immediately greeted with a friendly welcome. The food was delicious especially the tiramisu at the end with an espresso. The meal was very relaxed itress and the service was excellent. Will definitely return the next time we are in Halifax.
We organized a company dinner with about 22-24 people. They were able to accommodate us no problem, and I am so glad they did. The food was incredible, and Leonardo and his amazing staff made us feel like we were having a big family dinner. They went above and beyond. I cant recommend this place enough! Thank you so much!
Very friendly and welcoming.
Great prices, great staff, best service in Halifax. You will not be treated better than Ragazzi Restobar!! Leo s captivating aura mixed with the top tier Italian chefs is an experience you won t want to miss out on!!! Food : 5/5
Samantha is a gem . The owner treated us like celebrities. His attention to detail can it be missed. We felt like we were transformed to another country. The way he described the feature with his Italian account was so passionate. Loved the whole experience. Thank you !
love the food love the staff and the owner who knows how to take care of is customer i went to italian restaurants around the world and this one compares to what i had in italy and many other place love it from your f1 friend Food
Leonardo and team delivered a memorable birthday dinner for my mom and her family. The food was phenomenal as was the service. Cant wait to go back soon!!!
Ragazzi is a local establishment that we occasionally frequent. Leo, the proprietor, exemplifies the old school of restaurant professionalism. During our most recent visit for a glass of wine and a snack, Samantha, a young server and bartender, stood out for her exceptional level of engagement that you dont often see in todays environment. We will definitely be back again!
We always have a great time here. The staff always goes above and beyond when we come in. The food is excellent.
We just had supper at Ragazzi and it was fantastic. Service was friendly and responsive, the food was more than delicious with more than enough food on each plate. The chef even went to each table to make sure everyone enjoyed their meals. Tonight they had live music, which the person singing knew an abnormal amount of songs We will definitely be back next time we are in town.
Service was very attentive. Food servings were generous and tasty but my lasagna wasnt hot. Prices were in line with todays norms for a nice restaurant. The dining room is cozy. There was live piano music that wasnt overpowering and added a nice touch.
Service was amazing, a very personable environment. Our server was quick and friendly. Food came out very quickly and was all done up pretty. The linguine was fresh and deliciousss
Wow. Leonardo was awesome. Food was great and service even better. When you google where to eat in Halifax why doesnt this place pop up? We had live music! And it was amazing!
A hidden gem with amazing food an atmosphere!
Waited for 40 minutes after sitting down before a server approached us to take our order. The music was loud it was quite difficult just to hold a conversation. Food was subpar for the price. Chicken was very off, almost like it just came out of a microwave. Ended up getting sick later that night. I highly recommend going to another establishment like Resto or Il Mercato
The food was incredible, great service and experience!
They forgot to put the drink in my ice.
Food was okay. Service was terrible, we had three different servers. The drinks were 90% ice and 10% drink, each pop drink was 4$ with no refills.
Horrible experience, first visit here and appeared we would have a lovely evening. My husband ordered the surf and turf and ordered fries, as hes allergic to cheese bacteria so this was a good choice for him. He informed the waitress as he does at all restaurants. His meal came out on a board and before he took a fry he asked me does that look like cheese, sure enough there was fresh parmasean cheese all under and on fries. He called the Waitress back to inform her he could not eat his meal as it has cheese. She said oh oh my I will take it back. She came back after a few minutes and informed him the chef said he will not cook another. We were mortified at such a response. While the rest of us had our meal. She apologized and said we will lookmat taking it off your bill. This was 7 pm our diner out with friends and this was the response, another chef did come out about 5 minutes later and said he would redo one. We said thank you and no lobster tail the first one had one which I tried and was burnt and dry. But the issue was the response to a serious allergy. My husband didnt return the food because he didnt like the look of steak etc, he could not eat it and ate nothing on it because of the cheese which he is very allergic to. It ruined the entire mood of the evening, the response to say not doing another was the most unprofessional I have ever heard. We left there paying the full bill no offer of anythjng. We will never return, and its a good thing he didnt eat any of the fries or the chef/owner who said that he would not do another might have faced ore serious consequences. Good luck with your restaurant in the future but we will never return nor will be recommend it to any of our military family and friends. It truelly was unexceptable the response to a serious issue. We have been to many many fine dining restaurants all over the province and many around the world and we have never come across this type of treatment with a person with an allergy. Shameful
LOVE regazzis. Always a great experience being in such a good atmosphere with the best staff. Leo takes pride in his restaurant and always treats everyone as if they were his best friend. Food, drinks, scenery and staff are all 10/10.
Served RAW chicken. Not a little pink, RAW. Confusing to try to be an upscale Italian restaurant but also have sports Jerseys on the walls. Prices of drinks did not match the menus they are printed on. I dont mind paying $15 for a cocktail, but showing me that on a laminated 8 1/2 x 11 with a terrible typeface is bad.
Incredible atmosphere, super affirming, Leonardo the owner is an absolute doll. We had Samantha as our waitress and she was so kind, attentive, and even held onto my leftovers so I could attend an event next door and then come back for my munchies! Had pasta, risotto, focaccia bread as a appetizer, and the happy hour drinks! Thank you, and will be back!
Very good pasta and breads. Absolutely loved the bolognese sauce. Definitely gonna be one of my usual spots. Food : 5/5
I felt I got VIP service but we were bothered by some of the attire of the staff that sort of lowered the class of the place. Tube top, etc. I wouldnt call it high end for that fact but was pleasant if your going for something more casual. Antipasto board needs to be better with more an assortment of cheese but otherwise very generous. Really appreciated the free shot of aperitif and the pastas were great!
The food was spectacular. Our server, Samantha was delightful. Will visit again if we come back to Halifax
Absolutely my go-to Italian restaurant when Im in Halifax. The central location, intimate setting and pure joy that Leonardo brings to serving customers is second to none! I have had several great meals there, and especially like their tagliatelle alla bolognese. Some nights there is live music to add to the atmosphere. Enjoy!
The best calamari. Leonardo is a spectacular owner and host and has the best, nicest staff there to look after you!
Def Go to this place!! Amazing Service it felt like such a home with the superb hospitality from Leonardo and Samantha. :) Food was Bellissima!!
This place wont make it if they dont up their game. Mediocre food, small portions. Dont expect anything quick. When they mess up your food twice dont expect any favors.
It was a nice place to hang out with friends as we enjoyed a lot also the drinks were amazing and we got some unique drinks to try and also the staff members were so friendly and the quality of the food was excellent.
Ragazzi s is my favourite restaurant in Halifax! The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly! Love visiting here!
Worst service I ve ever experienced. Food was cold, server didn t fix the problem. Manager wasn t sympathetic at all. Wasn t even busy when I was there. I ll never go back!
ladies and gentlemen if you want something Italian you should definitely visit this reservoir. I know the manager I know everyone who works here. I also love the food around here. Everyone is so friendly including the staff and the manager himself. This is definitely a must try
Awesome food. Very good environment
Amazing place to hangout with friends! Variety of selections for drinks. Owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming
such a nice area to eat that my boyfriend and i happened to find by accident one day. very friendly environment with candlelit interior for a romantic theme. lights are definitely very dim which we personally loved but we did see another couple who requested the lights a bit brighter and the staff was happy to accommodate them. some waiters seem a bit overwhelmed, rushing from place to place and not necessarily taking their time when customers are placing orders (for example walking away before we were finished ordering drinks). the owner (or manager im not sure) ended up serving us each of the times we returned which was lovely. definitely puts in the effort to make that personal connection with customers. he makes us feel very welcomed everytime we visit and began to recognize us after only two visits!!
Got a reservation for a group of friends university aged, and unfortunately because of our age it seemed as though we were treated as second priority by the staff. We had to wait 45 minutes for the first 4 appetizers to arrive and then another 30 minutes for the last 2 that were forgotten. The drinks were sub par. The main course left much to be desired and the over all experience was very negative. Will not be returning.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ragazzi Restobar, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! This hidden gem surpassed all my expectations, leaving me utterly delighted and craving for more. From the moment I stepped foot into Ragazzi Restobar, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The elegant decor, soft lighting, and tasteful music created the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening PLUS the girl at the door on live music night was sooo sweet. She welcomed me and my boyfriend and greeted us a good evening with the best smile on her face. Also my boyfriend loved this place, he and i went there on our 1 year anniversary and have been dining there quite often ever since.
The best limoncella on the planet earth
I got out of an exhausting meeting feeling famished, and as I exited the building, I began hearing some beautiful latin music coming from an authentic Italian restaurant across the street. I took it as a sign from the Universe, saying dine here, and so I did. Needless to say, the Universe was right. As soon as I walked through the door, I was met by a very kind hostess that wasted no time in properly greeting me. She generously offered to take my wet raincoat, then hung it on a hanger. I was impressed by this immediate sense of welcoming and hospitality. The hostess brought me to my table and informed me that my server will be with me shortly. When I arrived to my table, I got a chance to look at their menu. The prices were fair, and the selection was varied. My server asked if I wished to start with water or drinks, and then informed me of the daily specials (all of which sounded very appealing). I decided on the Alla Tony Placidi cocktail and focaccia appetizer to start. My drink arrived in the blink of an eye, and tasted fantastic. If you like kiwi, youll like this cocktail. The focaccia bread arrived shortly after, which was also tasty, especially when paired with the complementary bomba oil. For my entrée, I decided on the Penne Florentina. It arrived within about 15 minutes. I could smell it across the room as the server brought it over. Its delightful aromatics were intoxicating. Whether this phenomenon be a sign of its authenticity or my hunger heightening my senses, I dont know (my guess is both LOL). After laying it on the table, the server asked if I would like some grated fresh parmesan or grinded pepper-- alla true Italian fine-dining. The penne was wonderful, and left me wanting more despite how appetizing it was. Within my first few bites, I could tell this is the best penne I have ever eaten, and very well might be the best Ill ever have. Vibrant cherry tomatoes, ripened to perfection, mingled harmoniously with mushrooms and peas in fragrant Italian pesto, creating a burst of freshness. The accompanying bechamel crema sauce added an elegant twist, elevating this classic dish to new heights. As I ate, I took the opportunity to more closely browse the environment at Ragazzi. The decor gives an air of sophistication, blending modern design elements with subtle Italian touches, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and welcoming. Soft lighting casts a warm glow on the immaculately set tables, where diners anticipate the culinary marvels that lie ahead. To conclude this extraordinary culinary experience, I indulged in the Tiramisu. Ragazzi Restobars rendition of this Italian classic was a revelation. Layer upon layer of espresso-soaked vanilla cake, cream, and a delicate dusting of cocoa created a symphony of flavors that left me giddy. It was the perfect finale to an unforgettable meal. The impeccable service at Ragazzi Restobar deserves special mention. The staff, attentive and knowledgeable, guided me through the menu with passion and expertise. From their expert professionalism to their genuine enthusiasm for the culinary offerings, their dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience was evident at every moment. When it was time to go, I made my way to the front door, which was held open for me as I exited. I left Ragazzi Restobar with a sense of fulfillment, and a sense of utter satisfaction. The extraordinary culinary experience had left a mark on my taste buds and my memories. I felt a deep appreciation for the culinary artistry and the attention to detail that went into each dish I had. In conclusion, Ragazzi Restobar is a Halifax gem that exemplifies Italian dining at its best. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a world of refined elegance. For those seeking an authentic taste of Italys culinary treasures, Ragazzi is an absolute must-visit destination.
Came here with some friends, had a great time!! Highly recommend the Lobster Tagliatelle
Amazing food and great service! Lemoncello mojito was delicious.
I came to this restobar thinking it will be good but its infact one of the worst ones . I ordered a seafood platter and it was cooked in one of the worst ways possible , the pizza cheese doesnt look italian and i could hear the owner shouting in the kitchen . he talks in a very foul language which he fakes when he comes upfront to serve . Not recommended at all , the restobar is empty inside anyways.
Dont waste your time/money.go somewhere else!
I love the vibe of the restaurant, there is a lot of Spanish music and the owner (Leonardo) likes to be around to help out and welcome everybody in. The food is so great and I love pasta, so far I have eaten Nonna s Lasagna, and Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and they were fantastic.
Tasted some of the delicious Italian foods after many years and it brought the sweet memories of my days in Bologna! My kids really enjoyed the soup of the day and the lasagna! Lovely staff and the service! We will visit again. Kid-friendliness: Staff were kids friendly!
First visit was on March 24, 2023 and had an aperol soritz and gnocchi. The gnocchi was perhaps the best I have ever consumed anywhere in the world and have had this dish in multiple locales and in highly rated restaurants. The staff were fabulous as well. Vegetarian options: I had a vegetarian option and sure that reasonable dietary restrictions could be accommodated . Kid-friendliness: There were no children as I was there late evening but imagine the owners and staff would welcome all ages. Wheelchair accessibility: Located on a rather steep hill but difficult to avoid that terrain in downtown Halifax.
Very delicious food
Love the Tuscany night!!!!
I love the atmosphere, the vibes, live music etc. cool place to chill with friends and family
Amazing food. The owner Leonardo kept coming to our table to ensure we have the best authentic experience. He recommended the best sauces. The servers were all great including Zoey but our table server Samantha was awesome. Kid-friendliness: They gave our kids ice cream on the house and overall very nice and accommodating.
Very very good restaurant! The service was decent. The calamari was very good. The lobster tagliatelle was very good. The lobster tagliatelle has lobster on top of the pasta. A red sauce, and a stylish pasta which was pretty good.
My family had an incredible experience Dining at Ragazzis. Every dish was beyond our expectations. The owner was personable and obviously cares about complete customer satisfaction. My daughter commented that the handmade pasta was the best she has ever had. Excellent food! Excellent service! A 5 star experience!
We stumbled upon this place while visiting Halifax for the first time. The energy was inviting and vibrant with live music! We happened to arrived during their happy hour along with special oyster pricing. We also ordered bruschetta which was delicious. We wished to have stayed longer but had evening plans. The other food entrees we did see looked and smelled delicious. Our server was prompt and very kind, as were all the staff. Hope to visit again next time in Halifax!
Very nice place. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was great. Service was timely, and we never had to wait long to get our food. Even though we didnt have a reservation, we were seated in under a minute. Price seems more than reasonable for the quality. I went there with my girlfriend and shared an antipasto board (very good), pizza diavola (very good), and ended with a slice of cheesecake and tiramisu (both very good). The only reason I am not giving 5 stars in atmosphere is that we were seated underneath a radiator which seems to need repairs. A few times during our dinner, it dripped water on my girlfriends shoulder. It didnt bother her too much. Im not taking a star away from my overall rating since it was, even in her words, not a big deal, and it would not be an issue for most other seats. One suggestion I have is to carry more cheesecake. We initially both wanted cheesecake for dessert, but only one slice was left. It seems to be a very popular item; the table next to us also ordered cheesecake, but at that point there was none left. While we did come a bit after the main dinner rush, there were still a bit over 2 hours until closing by the time we ate dessert. Im not taking a point off for the cheesecake thing, since it didnt ultimately hurt the experience. The tiramisu which I had was very good too and Im not disappointed that I got to try it. Overall, the portion sizes of the things we had were very good. The pizzas are the perfect size for two people to share, and still have room for dessert afterwards. For drinks, she had the blueberry smash cocktail which she enjoyed a lot, and I had a glass of pinot noir. We definitely recommend the blueberry smash to anyone who likes sweet and tart, fruit-forward cocktails.
Owner served me, absolutely amazing experience! Extremely friendly service and knowledgeable. Perfect lunch spot in the heart of downtown Halifax
I decided to stop in one night when I was downtown with some friends and im so glad I did. The food was incredible sevice and atmosphere was so nice and the owner is great very nice and has very good energy. I would highly recommend this restraunt for people who want to try something new.
Phenomenal atmosphere, the owner greeted us and was super friendly. I would recommend this restaurant over many of the high end popular spots in town. A hidden gem that shouldnt be overlooked!
I wasn t expecting to end up in this establishment, but I think it was the best thing that happened to me in Halifax. The food was superb, tasty and fresh, from the ciabatta to the pasta who were cook perfectly and tasted heavenly. The service was perfect, the music was a nice touch but maybe a tad too loud for my mood on this Monday evening. Would definitely recommend.
The service is excellent, the food is excellent, live music !!!
The owner of the restaurant was amazing. The food was awesome. Make sure you make reservations, and you will not be disappointed.
GREAT night at Ragazzis! Food was excellent and we LOVE rhe pianist/singer Rob Reed, who is there every week. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out.
When we got in I was excited about the cozy/warm look of this place but the pizza I ordered was disappointingly bland in both flavor and appearance. It left me with a rather sad dining experience. I hope they can prove their cuisine because it s a nice looking little spot.
Went there with my colleague and the experience was really bad. We ordered some drinks and some pizzas. Pizza was not good and over prized. We even had to pay tips even when we did not enjoy the service. A big NO NO for this place.
Great service and the bar tender was great company. Walked by a million times but never tried and I m happy I tucked in here today, worth a visit for sure Food : 4/5
Despite renovations next door, and it being lunch, we had a wonderful time. The staff were charming and playful and made for a really fun experience. The decor is charming and the music this day added to the fun (Gypsy Kings). Our drinks were delicious, and were quickly followed by some really delicious food, in portions too large for us to finish. We were so pleased with everything that we ordered desert to go. It s a fun, and unpretentious restaurant, and we ll definitely be going back.
Terrible place to eat. Way over priced and the restaurant smelled musty. I got a cheese pizza which was the cheapest thing on the menu, and it was still $17.00 dollars. Pizza was bland and tasted like it came out of the freezer. Honestly Ive bought frozen pizzas at the grocery store that taste better than the food they served here. Most menu items were over 30 dollars. For $33.00 plus tax I could have bought the ingredients to make my own lasagna at home and it probably would have tasted better. I was with a group of people, portion sizes were super small. Rip off. There is lots of good places to eat in Halifax, Id avoid this place.
What an amazing experience! Food, drinks - all delicious...staff were so wonderful and so friendly. Took in a large group of us and we were treated so well. We are all so thrilled we had the chance to experience Ragazzi while we were in Halifax. Thank you!
I have been to Ragazzi multiple times and every time has been better than the last. Food is amazing and service is great. Had my drink order within 5 minutes of sitting down and my food order came no more than 10 minutes later and was great.
One of the best meals Ive ever had. The service was phenomenal! Top notch, would highly recommend.
Tried this place for the first time last night. Great food, very tasty! The owner greeted us and ensured we had a wonderful experience, which we did. The great vibe and great music goes well with the great food!
Amazing food and service! Looking forward to returning in the near future to try more dishes off the menu!
My wife and I dropped in, almost accidentally. We were wandering about for our anniversary dinner. The crew at Ragazzi treated us like family and they took care of the menu for the evening. They were so wonderful to us. The food was just amazing. We had a magnificent experience. Grazie mille Ragazzi crew!!!
Food was good. Drink was expensive. Too loud, I could barely hear people next to me!
The atmosphere was charming, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The menu offered a delightful variety of dishes, and the flavors were exceptional.
We wanted to try this place as it is new and thought we would give it a chance. First off, Olivia was wonderful fun attitude and great service. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Pizza was not as expected, overly small, bad dough, and $26!!! The pasta was pretty good as was the salad. End of the night, 1 5oz. Glass 1 salad 1 pizza 1 pasta Came to $96!!! I would price it at $70 max.
Amazing lobster ravioli, the owners passion in shown in every part of the restaurant Lydia
Ragazzi Restobar is one of Halifaxs best restaurants for authentic Italian cuisine, hands-down! The restaurant owner, Leonardo, is a true Italian with his warm, inviting spirit and top-notch hospitality. I loved the delicious homemade gnocchi and would totally recommend stopping by this tasty trattoria.
Basement restobar on Salter St. The owner is very involved. Very attentive lounge singer/keyboard player. Nice selection of menu items. Drinks are a bit pricey. Food was ok, could have been hotter temperature wise. Bad lighting, cheesy atmosphere, but fun.
Food was good and our server Samantha was really nice but the owner Leonardo berated his staff in front of us and came up like everything was great.
As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a friendly face from the owner, the penne alla vodka I had was delicious as well as the bread, the oil was also fantastic.
like a second home, best service and food. would recommend to anyone Parking: lots of parking Food : 5/5 |
Freaking awful. The food was okay but definitely not worth the cost. Drinks are just ridiculously expensive for what they are. The service is wonderful but hearing how the servers are spoken to is sickening. They all look like tired housewives. While I agree the customer should be the focus, how staff are treated is important as well. I won t be returning. Parking: Basically, prepare yourself for a long uphill walk.
Was at Ragazzi s Friday night and the atmosphere was electric. Personally I ate the tagliatelle all bolognese which I would recommend. Everyone at the table was pleased with their meals and desserts. From the live entertainment, quality service, and the owner making you feel welcomed I was pleasantly surprised. Will defiantly be back
Ragazzi Restobar is by far the one of the best restaurants in Halifax. The customer service was amazing, the owner was very friendly, walking around, greeting customers, asking how our meal was and making sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this to all my friends and to anybody looking for excellent food and a great atmosphere. This place is top notch.
I dont eat out often, and normally go to the usual spots when I do. So glad I stumbled upon Ragazzi Restobar! They werent voted best Italian Restaurant for nothing. The atmosphere was quaint and charming, the service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. If youre looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some live music and great food, make sure to head to Ragazzi Restobar!!
The food was absolutely delicious!! I come from an Italian family, and this was spot on! Service was very efficient, staff very polite and courteous. Prices were very reasonable! Overall, a beautiful establishment
A wonderful place to eat absolutely loved it!!Can t wait to go again!!!
Amazing, I dont know why this place isnt worldwide. Give it a go and itll be your goto place for good food, and good service. 5 star. Ill be back.
Vegetarian options: I love mushrooms. So two great vegetarian options for me that are yummy! Food
Amazing food, music and ambiance !!
Fresh food, beautiful atmosphere and great service. Cant ask for much else! A fantastic local restaurant, definitely worth a try in Halifax. Tourists will love it and it will quickly become a new favourite for locals! Food
One of Halifax s best !
Had lunch here with a friend and it was so yummy. I had the Panini Italiano and it was absolutely delicious. My friend had the Linguine Pescatore and the side salad. Would highly recommend.
Ragazzi is a hidden gem of Halifax with attentive service and amazing food and cocktails. I wish I knew about it sooner.
Best Bolognese Pasta here! Wow. Amazing.
It was our first time visiting Halifax. My girlfriend and I were having trouble finding a good italian restaurant. We stumbled on this one, and we were NOT disappointed. We were greeted by the owner at the entrance who sat us down and took our coats. I wasn t too sure what to eat myself, as the owner proposed different options. I then asked him to surprise me, and he did. Food was fantastic! I had an appetizer of octopus which was so flavourful and my main course was swordfish with risotto. My girlfriend had the gnocchi which tasted very freshly made. Overall excellent experience, 10/10 recommend.
