Sat in the outside tents with heaters. If you are doing so, make sure to bundle up and wear warm footwear. However, it was good for our noisy BDay party with 5 couples. The food is alright.

A good restaurant of Italian cuisine. Everything is very tasty. Pasta from 26 cad, pizza from 24 cad, cocktails on average - 16 cad. Good wine list. Delicious desserts. The waiters are very pleasant and attentive. But there are a little too many people, you have to wait for a free table. But the food is worth it. And they are a little noisy. We were there on Friday evening. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dishes are available

Lucas our server was a delight and provided quietly attentive service. When he saw our gift bag on the table he picked up on the bday cue and brought us gelato with a candle, for dessert. Our Pollo Salad and Pear and Formagio pizza were both outstanding. We always just find it a bit too loud when the restaurant is full (and it almost always is!) which can make conversation difficult.Overall, it was a lovely lunch shared with a dear friend! Thanks

A very good Italian restaurant. Authentic flavours and freshly made dishes. Attention to detail is evident in every dish. The restaurant gets crowded, so make a reservation early. And when its full, it is very loud.

A Mano was fantastic as usual when we went last night. The service was amazing, and the food was incredibly tasty. Their gluten-free pasta was a highlight, and I didnt have any issues with my celiac condition. My only suggestion is to sit outside due to the high noise level inside, but this doesnt detract from A Mano being my favorite restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly restaurant

My boyfriend and I came for an anniversary tonight and Fifi was above and beyond. She truly made our experience amazing, as well as the food of course. We will be coming back!

Since moving to nova scotia Ive found Italian food to be nothing but garbage. a couple said I should really try a Mano. AGAIN thoroughly disappointed 26$ for this lasagna is an insult to my culture and to fine dining. This is something youd see at Boston pizza or a dive pub. This poor excuse for a meal pair with a beer cost me 40$ without tip. Not only was it poorly done I had to go eat else where to fill myself up.

Went for lunch on our last day in Halifax. Food was excellent, probably some of the best weve had in Halifax. Too bad we did not try it earlier - would have enjoyed a nice dinner there with a glass of wine.Our waitress, Giulianna, was also probably the best weve had during our trip. I have a certain food sensitivity and she went the extra mile to ensure it was addressed, making my meal very enjoyable. She was also very personable. We would definitely go again if ever in the Halifax area.

At first entrance, it was extremely loud. After a while, I sort of got used to it...however, I would definitely prefer a little less noisy. There are only 2 washrooms in the entire restaurant for all diners so I did encounter a lineup which was super annoying. Food was delicious, no complaints there. Nice wine selection also. Our server Nathan was super sweet, attentive, and very informative of the menu!

Our party of 10 tonight were so pleased with the food and our server Chelsea was great. The birthday celebration was wonderful. We will certainly return again. I visited Ristorante a Mano the very first time I ever came to Halifax. I literally dreamt of their lobster gnocchi for weeks afterwards. I was lucky enough to have the chance to be in Halifax again last weekend and almost immediately visited Ristorante a Mano. I didnt get my servers name, but she was very helpful and made my already top notch food into a well rounded high end experience. Im already looking at booking flights back to Halifax solely to visit Ristorante a Mano. Ive uploaded a photo of my empty plate, because I didnt even think about waiting to dig into the Gnocchi.

Great atmosphere, very helpful staff and excellent food. We arrived with no booking and they found room at the bar - Rob looked after us well and on the second visit he had remembered what drinks we had previously! Would recommend,.

Always a great experience at Amano.

This was our first time eating here but it certainly will not be our last. Warm and welcoming staff, our server Liz was amazing! The cocktails were great and perfectly executed. The food was delicious, some of the best pasta we ve ever had. I can t recommend this restaurant enough.

Just called at the last minute looking for a reservation and they were booked. I asked the woman on the phone for recommendations, and she delivered! Got a reservation at another great resto close by. Very much appreciated. Have eaten here several times and am always happy with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Props to Amano! I have to say, this pasta is really delicious. Especially the dessert at the end, its amazing! Pistachio flavored ice cream!

The food was amazing on our revisit this past month. One thing I want the restaurant to know is the Aperol Spritz is not being made correctly. It tastes too syrupy...which from what I can tell is not enough prosecco it should be the aperol, 3 to 3.5 oz of prosecco then 1 oz of club soda or tonic water but our drinks tasted like it was more soda than prosecco which made it taste syrupy.

Very good food - Pasta is homemade. We had the veal escalopes with lemons and the ravioli. . Very good escalopes and good portion; . On the other hand, for the ravioli - portion too small - only 6 Medium sized ravioli for a complete meal - there should be 10). Very nice atmosphere in the city center and near the quays.

I already went with a group of friends, great experience. So I decide to come back with my daughter who wants Italian pasta, Horrible experience, we are given a table, near the bay window, we order food, my daughter wants to go to the toilet, I leave my phone on the table and my shopping bag next to my chair, to signal that the table is busy. When we return, a couple is seated at our table I ask the lady who placed us there, she calls a waiter.. he tells me oh I put them here, Ill give you another table, I tell him asks where my phone is, he takes my phone out of his pocket , I also show him my bag which was pushed against the wall, he tells me hes sorry but without explaining why he took our stuff ! I tell him its our table, Im not the one whos going to be moved elsewhere. There he asks the couple to change tables, and tells me that he will bring back the menu, but we have already ordered, I find it! There I see the waiter who was looking after our table, I ask him if our order is still in progress? And tells him about our mishap, he confirms that our dishes are ready and that we are still on his service list... Anyway, I made the effort to stay and keep my good mood so as not to spoil my daughters Italian dinner, BUT in my life, I have never seen that in an a la carte restaurant!

The food is always delicious here. Got to sit outside and look at the bay. Only bummer were the cars continually coming in and out of the parking lot.

My favorite Italian restaurant in the HRM! The service is always fantastic the food delicious and the drinks pack a punch. I especially love the chicken parmesan but their pizzas and appetizers are also stupendous. Strongly suggest making reservations. They have an outdoor area but they can enclose it and heat it. Paid parking lot next to it.

Made a reservation for dinner here due to a pasta craving and they did not disappoint! The service was great and the portions were perfect. Ordered a glass of the prosecco and the Caffè 43 and we enjoyed those too. Great location by the water and they have a fairly large outdoor seating area as well.

I love the food, single, worst service, though I ve ever experienced at this restaurant. Would not recommend if you re looking for a table to seat.

the gnocchi allaragosta was tasty and very filling. the starters had generous portion however were a bit salty to my taste. seafood could be fresher. very packed and busy restaurant. the hostess was the sweetest girl ever, staff were attentive and welcoming.

Awful experience all around. We had a reservation, and in the reservation, I mentioned it was our anniversary and I said I did not want to be seated in the middle of the restaurant. (I have a hard time with people walking behind me) When we arrived, we were seated in the middle of the restaurant. I asked to be moved outside or near the windows or a wall, corner, etc. the host was able to move us after 20 minutes. Annoying but whatever. My partner and I have been to Bicycle Thief and La Frasca(same resturant company, and all share the same food. It s the same focaccia at each) before and they bring out gluten free bread as a starter instead of their normal bread starter at no extra charge. I asked do you still bring out bread for the table? And our server said yes we do! . I let them know I was celiac and would need the GF focaccia instead. When we looked at our bill, we were charged for it. We still would ve gotten it, but it was rude to not mention that they ve started charging. We ordered our entrees, I mentioned several times I was celiac and confirmed they could make my choice. I left very ill. I spent the night with a hot water bottle and a puke bucket next to me. The cherry on top was that when we were ordering dessert, we didn t get a sparkler for our anniversary, even though we saw 3 couples around us get them for their anniversaries. Again, it was in our reservation. Just felt really disappointed with this entire experience, it was a significantly different service than bicycle thief and la Frasca. Will not be coming back. Dietary restrictions: Absolutely do not come here if you are Celiac.

I didn t get served because obviously they didn t want to serve us. I was reassured on multiple occasions on the phone that they serve celiac safe food and then when I arrived one of their waitresses was rude and unfriendly, she kept looking me down and up, she started telling me that the food is not appropriate for celiac (me) and she gave hints that we better letter. I am not satisfied with this being a restaurant I was very excited to try for the first time. I will take my business somewhere else. Also, I should have taken her name down.

Holy Macaroni! We lived in Trieste, Italy for 4 years and the pasta here is extremely well executed. Better than some places in Italy and definitely one of the best in Canada! Go Maritimes!

Great Italian restaurant. The service, the food and atmosphere are all great. Even the kids menu looks good, and the chicken was done perfectly. We had vegetarian pizza, pasta and salad with red wine and enjoyed everything.

Solid Italian food, great citrus and shrimp salad. My wife enjoyed her seafood pasta and I had a great pistachio encrusted seared tuna with excellent lemon cream pasta. Service was friendly and professional and on our way out every staff member we passed wished us a good night.

Great service and environment. Pizza was hearty and well seasoned, but the linguini was a bit chewy and the seafood could ve been slightly fresher. It was still a good and filling meal though!

The bathrooms were just as ascetic as the restaurant, the service was fast we were lucky to get a table its a very popular restaurant, if youre a big party make reservations. The loud music that didnt quite fit the mood was a bit much. Everyone but myself had to go to subway for more food as the portions were quite small, even with the price. There is o ly one vegetarian option on the menu Vegetarian options: Only one on the menu.

We had great server who seemed to be run off her feet. We found was very over priced for what you got and some was not that great. The parmigiana chicken was way over cooked and dried out and the meza rigatoni appeared like someone had dumped left overs on the plate, not much taste and could not find the chicken in it. The tomato sauce is excellent and salads were very good. We were disappointed the meal for 2 people including dessert was over $100. The acoustics were bad as you not hear each other due to noise level.

We were recommended to attend this restaurant. Disappointed to say the least. Pasta rigatoni looked like it was left overs and pasta undercooked. Chicken parmigiana was not great either as the chicken was so overcooked it was dry and the edges were hard and inedible. The atmosphere is so loud you cannot hear each other talk. Needs better acoustics.

Horrible atmosphere was expecting a restaurant setting instead it was more of a sports bar with the yelling and singing by a group of 8 everyone looked disruptived by their actions. Also my table of two was ignored by the server as he was only focused on the table of 8 girls and his 4 top. It was a disappointing anniversary dinner .

Dropped in for a meal as I am traveling for work. Dining by myself tonight, heavy sigh! I was unsure of the wine choice and the very friendly server brought me some samples to choose from. Very helpful. Got the Chianti! Order the Linguini Al Frutti De Mare, you will bless your being with a generous portion of fresh clams, mussels, prawns and scallops. The sauce was spot on and not too heavy, with perfectly cooked pasta. Desert was the profiterals stuffed with lemon and marscapone covered in lemon curds. Sorry, my description doesnt do it any justice, try it and put a big smile on your face!! The staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations, next time Ill let them decide and surprise me, theres nothing on the menu I wouldnt try. Very busy dining experience, but highly recommended, my second visit! My price of $70-80 per person chosen cuz I was spoiling myself and good food, good service is worth every penny these days.

We were tossed around for a table and made to sit out in the cold. The food was awesome but the servers were rude and unprofessional. We asked for water without ice and we got water with lots of ice. Basic courtesy missing.

Delicious hand-made pasta, kids menu is Ok. I dont drink wine, but my wife did and she was happy with the variaty of wines and her choice. The tiramisu (desert) is amazing, and I also like the illy espresso coffee here. This place is not cheap, but good value for the food, service and atmosphere, similar experience as other restaurants from the same owner. Parking: There is a very very limited paid parking lot in the cul-de-sac, else the big (also paid) parking lot just 100 meters away. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with some good options, portions are Ok. They also have markers and the back of the menu for coloring.

Very good food, awesome and fast service . Even the kids portion looks like restaurant meal, with carrots, potatoes and broccoli.

Best BEST dessert in Halifax

Hands down, the most accomodating and kind staff I have ever encountered. The main dining room was bustling and a little too loud for my partner and I. We were swept into the serene heated patio and pampered over the course of our meal. The service is impeccable and warm. The food is consistently good. A must visit.

Fantasic pizza, great service

It was a busy Friday night. Drinks and apps were delicious and timely, but the wait on the mains was a bit drawn out, and our server didnt seem to be in any rush, until we asked after our food (40 minutes in at this point) and within 1 minute it arrived. It smelled amazing and had great presentation on plate, but unfortunately it fell a bit flat in terms of flavour. It was... fine. Which is not exactly what youre looking for at this price point. Ultimately not worth the hype in my opinion. I could see myself returning at some point for another try, though Ristorante a Mano has landed somewhere on the distant bottom half of my dining priority list.

Pappardelle Con Agnello Ragù was amazing! Lasagna was delicious too! The calamari was light and crispy. Over all an excellent choice.

What an amazing experience, the food is absolutely delicious and plentiful and the service was excellent , they make you feel welcomed and we even had help with our group photo outside from a gorgeous staff member that was bringing a cart in , in spite of being closing time, now I know why it has such a wonderful reputation, well worth a visit.

The pizza crust is excellent. They serve chili oil and garlic oil with the pizza, which made it extra tasty. However, it was so noisy that my wife and I could hardly hear each other talk.

Had a great dinner with No resolve on a Tuesday afternoon. There wont likely be a table at 5pm on a weekday so I recommend getting a reso. The food was great butternut squash pasta is what I got. Id I would recommend.

The entire group were chatting in agreement that A Mano is such a consistent experience... the pleasant greeting at the door, seating as requested, service staff is always pleasant/knowledgeable/professional, food is consistently delicious with beautiful presentation and a proper portion for each dish. Excellent service, which really makes the experience! The last time I was here, we were a group of nine or 10, which can be really tricky for servers, but everything was done very well. My pasta was done perfectly. I ve been going here for years, and have had consistently good food and service, which speaks volumes to the organization of this restaurant. Had a great meal last night with a bunch of co-workers. Server was excellent and very helpful, food was delicious and restaurant had a great energy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice Italian meal thats reasonably priced.

Fantastic food and a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I had the pork tenderloin, and it was probably the best pork tenderloin Ive had anywhere.

I ve been here on two occasions. The first time I went was with my girlfriend last year and the second time was just last night, with one of my best friends. Both visits were amazing. Making reservations is super easy and convenient. The staff are very friendly and attentive, so service has been great both times! The food is so delicious and I ve enjoyed every meal I ve had so far. I also loved the cocktails! The Sparkler is by far my favourite. I love the low light in the restaurant as it helps to keep a nice cozy atmosphere. Overall, I ve had great experiences here and will definitely be going back in the near future.

Food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend the lasagna. I gave service a single star because the server seemed to not care and just push us out so next people can come in. Felt rushed and would not go back.

The staff were so friendly and helpful

What a fantastic experience, from the service, to the food from start to finish was great and surpassed my expectations. Warm and cozy atmosphere with a nice hint of hustle and bustle you would expect from a busy restaurant on a Friday night. We started with the scallops, chopped salad and calamari, we shared the squash pasta and had a lovely lemon gelato for dessert. Service was very friendly and quick. I was thoroughly impressed by the prices and portions. Will absolutely return during my next visit to Halifax. Highly recommend.

Great food and great service

I reserved table for Valentine s Day and it was outside seating, we asked is there any chance we can seat inside, the server said no. But the couple that seat on the next table to us (also outside) were able to get seat inside. Outside is cold, really cold, heaters don t warm up at all. I had to keep my jacket and scarf on. Very disappointed. There was 3 tables available inside. Of course I understand they might be reserved, but the other couple also reserved for outside and got inside within like 3 min

Great food , great atmosphere and great service ! Will definitely go again next time we re in Halifax

We went for lunch with Italian cuisine. We were surprised by the full seating during the lunch break, they quickly found us a table for two, for which many thanks, two pizzas with ravioli and dry red wine, improved both our mood and condition. The establishment is clean inside, the service is fast and pleasant, the prices are slightly above average, the interior is somewhat outdated, but this does not bring disappointment.
