Antojo Tacos + Tequila in Halifax

Enjoyed our dinner there! The service was great, the food fresh and so tasty as well as the dessert. The only item that was nearly cold was the coffee, but thats alright.

Fabulous experience on Friday night. Terrific server who not only recommended some fantastic dishes and could describe all of the ingredients but also recommended some other authentic east coast places to see. Food was very good. Reasonably priced and servings generous. Great evening.

Made a reservation for 8, we love the food here but this time the service was just not there, our server was very pleasant but just not attentive. Our meals were warm not hot so they were sitting there for a bit before being delivered and the server blamed the chef. He messed up one of the orders and missed a dessert request as well. We had to constantly flag down for drinks. The food was still yummy as always so no complaints there. Just an average experience unfortunately.

Great atmosphere and great service!

The worst experience at this restaurant. Ryan denied me food saying I was intoxicated after having 2 drinks served by them! I brought this up level to the manager Leon who was completely ignorant of a liquor license requirement and only tried to minimize his employees actions of not serving me food. There are federal laws against serving alcohol that require food be served at the least a limited menu. This goes against the requirement to have a liquor license and I will be reporting it first thing in the morning. I will also be bringing this up to legendary hospitality who Leon says is the company that oversees this establishment so that they are aware of the way their employees are representing their brand!

Initial service was good until about 40 minutes before our agreed time there was pressure by the server to get us out 15 minutes earlier. This the server verified and again we were told we had to leave earlier. So the manage was call and eventually she turned up to apologize for their mistake but by that time we had rushed our drinks and snacks. She wasnt interested in that our evening was spoilt. There was nothing back from her apart from a timid sorry in regards to spoiling our night. I have talk to a few people and they think the restaurant handled this disgracefully and I agree.

Deliciousness! Everything Ive tried as well as my companions has been excellent. Quality of food is exceptional, right down to the homemade ice cream for desert. Quantity of food is also generous portions, particularly given the cost of eating out these days. Service is warm, friendly and welcoming - love that. The non-alcoholic drink options are also delicious - its so nice to have healthy, yummy fancy drink options that are without alcohol - thank you! Vegetarian options: The Chile Relleno is a generous portion and VERY tasty!

Always love coming to Antojos! The food is always fresh and delicious, the margaritas are magical, and the ambiance is authentic and fun! Sometimes when its real busy, there can be small delays but its always worth the wait!!

Probably the first thing I should mention is this is Halifax. Dont expect the same level of spice as one might find further South. The food is very tasty, the servers friendly, the atmosphere is convivial. The food is tasty and service was prompt. I was dismayed at the lack of spice, but again, I live for extreme spice - so this place may be spicy enough for you - it is all subjective

Love Antojos! Such a unique place. Love the decor, wait staff are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Food is amazing - a little lacking in heat perhaps but then you have a choice of hot sauce on the table to season at will. Sopa de Lima is outstanding! Its all good!

I recently visited this restaurant for their Monday margaritas and ordered a quesadilla. I have to say, it s the best spot to go on Mondays! The margaritas were fantastic, and the quesadilla was delicious, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of cheese and fillings. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a great place to unwind at the start of the week. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great food and drinks on a Monday night!

Long-term fan of this place. We return over and over because they consistently get everything right - the food, the service, and the vibe. A favourite. I ve never tried anything in the menu that wasn t awesome. The Sopa de Lima is great if soup is your jam. Tacos and burritos delicious, and the nachos are tops in town. They also have a great brunch on the weekends with excellent chilaquiles! Staff are all above and beyond.

Antojo s has an amazing social atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot to hang out. We went for the margaritas, which were really good, and ended up trying the Mexican street corn, nachos and tres leches. The tres leches was so incredible that I had to come back a second time just for it! The drinks were great too. Highly recommend for a fun vibe and delicious food!

The tacos were mid at best, chicken in enchiladas and tacos felt a day old not fresh at all. The only good thing were the chips and salsa.

Located in one of the most happening streets in Halifax, in this place you will find the most authentic Mexican food ever east of Quebec. The drinks were average, will definitely recommend the food.

Good Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas verdes are so yummy and the al pastor tacos are my fav. The tres leches cake is one of the best I ve tried in Canada. The churros are very sweet but not bad, the Dulce de leche is nice. They have nice cocktails, and pretty good reggaeton music/ambience. Recommend booking for weekends!

Our family had lunch here to celebrate a birthday. First of all, our server Jessica was THE BEST. Super kind and friendly. She accommodated to our family and made some great suggestions. She s definitely a gem at Antojos. Food was awesome! Had the yellow fin tuna tostada as well as tacos all around. The portions are just enough to fill you up. Great and fair prices. Will definitely be back again.

Decent taco place.... wouldve been 5 stars but not every taco we ordered was well seasoned/flavorful. Definitely try the beef tongue, carnitas, and al pastor. Salsas were amazing... highly recommend getting the trio with chips to start.

Everything was great and quick. This possibly the 5th time here. Can get a bit noisy but it was fine last night. Unfortunately the parking is not very good. Nothing to do with the restaurant. Parking: HRM is horrible for parking.

My friend and I visited this place after hearing a lot of good things about it! Well it was soooo worth the hype! We sat in the patio and had their margarita Monday specials and lots of food! I wanted to eat tacos, so I chose this Mexican restaurant. It suits my Chinese stomach very well. It tastes great and the chili seasoning is a big fan of mine. Recommend Taco Beef Tongue and Enchilada Beef, especially delicious In addition, the girl who served us had such a sweet smile.

This is an excellent spot. It s a bit removed from the harbour front so it s not chaotic, we stayed in the patio because we have a dog, which was fine since it was a pretty nice day, and the staff were super friendly. We ordered the mushroom cotija quesadilla for appetizers and it was very good. We then ordered carnita, al pastors, beef tongue, and chicken tinga tacos, all of which were delicious. They provide a selection of hot sauces to choose from. My wife liked them, even though they were a bit mild. They re too spicy for me but I m not a hot sauce guy. After travelling around Nova Scotia and having seafood every place we went to, this was a nice change of pace and we are definitely coming back whenever we return to Halifax.

My friends and I visited Antojos on July 27 for a birthday dinner. Adelaide, our server, was friendly and provided great recommendations. I have dietary restrictions so was very grateful for her amazing knowledge of the menu. The Mexico Flag enchiladas were particularly delicious. I would definitely return again!

Such great food! We come here about 5-6 times a year and always is so great! The kitchen lost our order and food took a little long so the staff gave us desert on the house. Didn t even feel like it took very long anyways! Super nice staff!

RIP Ive been here several times and its usually good but tonight was terrible. Our food and drinks took forever, the nachos we ordered were badly burnt and the carnita meat was very dry. Overall really disappointing to go out and get served clearly very burnt food.

The best part of this resturant was the server, the nacho chips are like captin cruch ripping apart your mouth. The salsa was out of a jar, the food was on par with taco bell at 10 times the cost.

Amazing food, friendly and helpful customer service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Visited Halifax for a week and ate there twice!! My bill was on the higher side because I indulged in some of their delightful drinks. Worth every penny! On my first visit I had a burrito mojado (pork carnitas filling), and had the Al pastor quesadilla on my second visit. The guacamole trio to share was a fabulous starter, and the esquites was also a great appetizer. Cant say enough good things about this place!!

I have a pretty high standard for tacos, and even though they didn t disappoint, the pork carnitas were lacking some on the flavor but the fish taco and guacamole were spot on along with a perfect spot to people watch.

The server was so incredibly sweet and answered all of my questions. Food was good but nothing special, the nachos were lacking cheese and arrived a bit burnt and the tacos could have had a bit more seasoning but other than that everything was good tasting!

Its hard to find a great mexican restaurant, but this one hit all the check marks. I had the Beef Chicharron and could cut the tender morsels with a butter knife. Andrew provided most excellent service/hosting and margaritas were fantastic.

By far the best dinner experience of the Halifax holiday (so far :). Amazing Dio de los Muertos decor. Even the restrooms were themed with beautiful painted doors and sugar skulls everywhere! Fabulous authentic Mexican dishes and the most remarkable selection of tequila. Our server, James, was excellent informative and courteous, attentive without hovering delightful! All the food was exceptional, with special mention to the off-the-menu dulce de leche ice cream. Don t miss this jewel of Queen Street.

We had a nice and leisurely lunch here, and were so well taken care of by our server, Maria! She was efficient, fun, and had good recommendations. The ambiance and the service here were fantastic. The food was decent to above average. The Esquites appetizer was very good, so was the Chilli Relleno. The tacos, quesadillas, and nachos were alright.

We have rarely had less than 110% service. Our wait staff remembers us on return visits and makes us feel comfortable. Love it here.

Service was great but the food was not. The corn dip tasted like warmed up canned corn. The sauce and feta on top were great, but there wasn t nearly enough. All of the tacos that we tried we did not enjoy as they were cold and had little flavour. We had high hopes but unfortunately were disappointed. We did enjoy the drinks.

This visit was my second time here, and won t be my last. The food is incredible and so is the service. We had John serving us and he was spirit on with some recommendations! With the music being at a certain level, everyone s voice is also elevated so it s a little difficult to have a chat across the table. But the atmosphere and the decor is great! I had the Carne Asada this time and wow! The flavours are so amazing, and adding on a dab or two of the house hot sauces just make the meal! I found the steak to be a little tough, so having it in the corn tortillas made it a little messy when trying a bite. But the flavour was just so good. I ate everything I was given. Clean plate club! I went in for lunch on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Service was wonderful! I was greeted warmly by the hostess (didn t catch her name, unfortunately). My server Chloe was amazing, you can tell she really cares!! Food was delicious - I had the quesabirria and it was so tasty. We came on Taco Tuesday night where all tacos were $4. The tacos were delicious and our server was great in assisting with our dairy allergy. It took a while for our tacos to come out, but it was busy that night, so understandable. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in Halifax.

We were visiting Halifax and were looking for a Mexican restaurant within walking distance from our hotel. This one popped up as the #1 Mexican restaurant in town, only 11 minutes away. What a piece of luck! Unique ambience featuring the Mexican Day of the Dead, friendly and efficient service, excellent enchiladas and margaritas. So happy to have found this place and heartily recommend it.

We came to Halifax and went a little barhopping to four different restaurants to have drinks, appetizers, etc. Here we sat and waited 10 minutes and received no service. I had to go to the bar to order drinks. We ordered chips and salsa which never ever came. No one came back to check after the meal was served, overall very poor service.

Food was good and well priced. Drinks were tasty but a bit expensive. Server was friendly and outgoing but not super attentive, but a nice dude. He may have had too many tables. Overall a good dining experience and worth the money.

We were very disappointed. We were at a conference and went for lunch at this establishment. We advised the server at the onset we were at a conference and had limited time for lunch (it wasn t that short 12:30 to 2:00) so a total 1.5 hours. We only got our meal at 1:50. We had to basically scarf down our meal / some people left their meals in order to get back on time. So needless to say we were upset, if the restaurant can t accommodate us, let us know.

My friend and I stopped here for a flight of tequila and a beer, the bartenders were very knowledgeable about tequila we really enjoyed our drinks. It was one of the more lively places on Argyle Street, the atmosphere was great. Good mix of age groups.

Visited here from Toronto as part of my road trip with family and to celebrate father s day. Hannah is amazing. She knows what she s doing very experienced and attentive. She was constantly checking on us making sure we are doing okay. Has an amazing menu knowledge, made some suggestions which turned out to be finger licking good! Server told us she brought us the wrong bill after it was paid so we had to pay the difference, but other than that always a great experience with delicious food. Also noticed the portions seemed larger than before which is great!

The food at Atojos is always delicious! Theres nothing more satisfying than their tacos. The service is excellent - waiters check in just the right amount. Our server last night was fun and friendly. I enjoy the lighting and decour. Antojos is fun and laid-back.
